Just got my perfume samples from Scent Split. I'm in actual heaven and a different person now. Not sure if I'm just going to post reviews here or structure them nice and post them on Medium. Maybe both. Stay tuned for that... oh, I can tell you what I got though!
From Hermetica: Jade888 and Greenlion
From Jo Malone: Velvet Rose & Oud and Vanilla & Anise
From Caswell Massey: Sandalwood and Ros
From Diptyque: Orpheon
From Hilde Soliani: Peccatrice
From Serge Lutens: Fleur d'oranger and Chergui
From Etat Libre D'orange: Spice Must Flow
and lastly, from Nasomotto: Absinthe
I've been really interested in finding a replacement for Tokyomilk Dark's Arsenic, so a lot of these are green/herbal leaning and the rest have just been on my "to try" list for a while.

I'd like to buy something to commemorate my first job in the video game industry, but I'm not sure what... something nice i've wanted for a while? A fun themed enamel pin? I feel like i'm leaning more towards perfume, since scent is so heavily based in memory.
I've been looking at Jo Malone Scarlet Poppy and Narciso Rodriguez Her recently. I almost want to describe N.R.H as Barbie's faux leather jacket she left at your house after a night rocking out on stage. It's creamy and floral, young but sophisticated and has a slight milky quality that I tend to associate with witches and dark things. Scarlet poppy is a dark sweet floral, and it's also quite lovely. Maybe I'll split the difference and just buy two small decants of both??
okay perfume ramblings over thanks for tolerating

Man, I鈥檝e been having bad luck with perfume samples lately. A lot of the stuff I don鈥檛 think is gonna be gourmand, ends up being just a touch too gourmand for my taste. I don鈥檛 mind smelling sweet, but I don鈥檛 want to smell like a marshmallow. Vanilla can go so wrong... it can betray you so easily...
