"When Hedgestar had Hogkit she was delighted, not because she had a son but because he looked like her. She had been gifted by the followers from within her. Something to carry on her legacy, to follow her word and devote to her more than anyone else. He was her proof of just how sacred she truly was."

Hogeater is the deputy of windclan and thought to be Hedgestar's most devoted follower. Hogeater however plans out a revolt among the clans and ultimately brings about his mother's demise. Hogeater does everything he possibly can to protect as many cats as he can from Hedgestar. And while he knows the he will forever carry her memory in his fur and her ideology in his scars, Hogeater is fully prepared to spend his life doing everything he can to heal the forest and undo what she'd done to it. Hogeater believes that there is something innately evil inside him. He is certain that there is something inside him, something that also made his mother the monster she was, that will someday consume him. Hogeater is afraid of himself and afraid of hurting his clan the same way Hedgestar, and that there is nothing he can do to stop it. He sees her when he looks at himself and its something he just can't shake, he can't let go of it.

But it also drives Hogeater to try so hard to do everything he can now before it's too late. If he cant stop it, he can make sure that his clan is ready to stop him. He expects his clan to without hesitation take him out and make sure he can't hurt anyone but Hogeater swears to fight it with everything he's got for as long as he can. He'll make sure Windclan prospers long after he's gone, that what happened in his lifetime never happens again.

Because Hedgestar told him that the stars that lived in her when she carried him inside her were reborn in him. Her gift to him. And when he completed his apprenticeship under her she carved her stars onto his body so all the clans would know that no matter what, she and Hogeater were chosen by the stars themselves. It is something that Hogeater hates most about himself, to have to wear what brought so many cats agony on his pelt. He lives as a reminder of suffering, of godhood, of devotion to something so evil. And Hogeater wants nothing to do with it, he never did. As much as Hogeater hates himself, he hates his mother more.

Hogeater used to be very close to his sibling Noface until Hedgestar separated them when they were younger and Hogeater has not been allowed to see or talk to them them since. Hogeater can be found sunbathing with Liontalon or Orangetoe if he happens to be awake during the day and neither are particularly busy (Orangetoe never is)

Hogeater however makes a habit of keeping to himself and always seems to watch the clan as if he's an outsider, though this is of course his own choice as wherever he is his mother is not far away.

Talked to a friend (you know who you are) about Hedgestar and Hogeater and am once again reminded why Hogeater is my favorite character over Silentbite I don’t think I have it in me to do a comic series so I’ll one way think of a way to share all this lore and stuff with you guys
