So many versions of this song by so many great artists, but no one does Sunny like Bobby Hebb. It's the way he sings the word "Sunny". Marvin, Ella, Cher, Dusty, Stevie, JK, none of them do it quite right somehow. Key change and time signature changes throughout, it’s a masterpiece.

31. Sunny by Bobby Hebb debuted Jun 66 and peaked at number two, scoring 1089 points. It peaked at number three on the r&b chart, and at number 12 in England.
Bob was born in Nashville to a pair of blind musicians. He was on stage at the age of three with his nine year old brother, and was seen on tv as a boy with Owen Bradley, and played with Roy Acuff's band.
He had three chart entries, all in 1966. The follow-up made the top 40. Bob wrote Sunny, a song that has been covered many many times, including Cher, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, and Billie Eilish, although Bob's original is the only one to chart. His other success as a songwriter was co-writing Lou Rawls' 1971 hit, A Natural Man with comedian Sandy Baron.

“Sunny”
This is a live performance of Bobby Hebb’s huge hit “Sunny,” featuring jazz legend Ron Carter on bass. Hebb wrote the song as he was dealing with his grief over his brother’s stabbing death at a nightclub. It hit Number Two on the Billboard Hot 100 and Number Three on the R&B charts. It was also a Cashbox Number One.

"Ah, todo 'sta bien, chévere, you understand that? (Chévere?) Chévere, bien, chévere, is that right mama?".
