that's actually a very interesting point! i never really understood the point of janeway in this episode, but now i see that she actually has more in common with naomi's situation than neelix. if only they ever highlighted it in the episode itself, haha. i don't see her ever spilling the beans about her father seeing how she couldn't even talk about him in coda, but at least a throwaway line could have been great. like, her mentioning that she loved playing that flopper (?) holoprogram with her father when he had free time (although from what she said, it seemed like she played these programs on her own 🙃)

my main problem with this episode, although i love it, and overall with episodes focused on neelix is that they do not give him a proper outlet to grieve or talk through his experiences with a person who would really understand him. if only they had a person on the ship whose homeworld was under attack, which led to the death of their relative... IF ONLY...............

a big fan of how in once upon the time neelix almost screamed at janeway that she doesn't fully understand his situation because of her privileged upbringing. they should have done this more often
