IDW Starscream X Reader
Rendezvous Part 2
Rating: 18+ (TW: blood, reader hits their head hard)
Frag. Could this day get any worse? He can’t throw it back into the lake now. Starscream just stares at the tiny frozen organic clutched in his servos. Looking around he tries to think of a way to get rid of it without having to deal with it, when it suddenly whimpers. A pitiful sound as it comes to and begins to shiver. It’s unsettling the way it weakly tries to squirm in his grasp. He grimaces lifting it closer to his optics again. That’s when he noticed the gash on its forehead. It’s leaking. Oozing dark red liquid from where he assumed was it’s processor. He could feel its weak heartbeat against his palm and he knew he had to do something fast. Or he’d have a bigger problem on his hands. Running a hand over his faceplate in exasperation, he decides the best course of action would be to get it somewhere warm first. Maybe he could figure out how to get it to stop leaking. Carefully he transformed around the little thing and took off towards the base. He knew he’d have to be careful. If the others saw his mistake, that could mean a fate far worse than freezing to death for you.
Light and sound were the only discernible sensation besides a deep, bone jarring chill. Your teeth chatter as you try to rouse yourself. ‘Don’t fall asleep.’ You think as you feel a warmth envelop you. Someone must have found you and drug you out of the lake. This was rural Appalachia. It was a miracle anyone was within fifteen miles of where you were. You reach a shaky hand to your forehead, bringing it away sticky with blood. Confused you try to get a sense of where you are. Your eyes won’t cooperate, everything is fuzzy and unfocused. The faint sound of a jet engine made you scrunch your brow. Perhaps you were being airlifted to the hospital? You reach up a hand weakly resting it on the canopy above you. Silently thanking whatever gods were watching over you this night. Your eyes grew so heavy you feared you’d slip away forever. Head throbbing and clothes still soaking wet from your fall into the lake, you shiver until exhaustion takes you.
Returning to base, Starscream lands in his alt mode carefully keeping you hidden in his canopy. He transforms, aware of your limp body resting against the inside of his frame. Shuddering at the sensation, he tries his best not to jostle you around as he strides inside. Luckily the hallways are mostly empty and he arrives at his quarters with no uncomfortable questions asked. After gently lifting you from his canopy, he places you on his desk. Kneeling so he can assess the damage. You flop alarmingly limp from his servo onto the hard surface. Your jacket, still full of water, makes an awful squishing noise. He grimaces, trying his best to figure out how to get you out of your soaked coverings. His servos much too big as he fumbles with the clasps of your jacket. After struggling for awhile he family manages to shake you free of your jacket. He jumps a bit, his wings flicking when you let out a pained groan from being handled. After gently putting you down again he begins to pace in front of the desk. What was he thinking bringing you here? He didn’t know slag about humans. He let out a frustrated growl slamming his fist onto the desk next to you. This roused you enough to lift your head and stare blearily up at him. Clearly your optics weren’t working correctly because you actually reach out a tiny shaking hand towards his fist. He watches intently as you mumble incoherently to him. Needing his help. Needing him. His optics widen at the realization. One thing was clear. He has to find a way to save you.

“Please confirm your request once more to-”
“Yes! I do, in fact, want you to lift my mech! Like I just said!”
“Request acknowledged. Thank you!”
The winged construct floated ahead, a placid smile on its holographic face. Standing across from it was a heavy combat mech, and standing beside the mech was an increasingly impatient Upriser.
“Sometime today, please!” The human tapped his foot as the automaton approached his mech. “Risona is expecting me back at base by midnight. Not to mention the Imperials…and now I’m having a heart-to-heart with a robot. Great.”
While the Upriser’s hand met his face with an audible slap, the construct finally drew close to the mech, running a metallic hand across its plating.
“Processing preliminary analysis…Estimated force required: HIGH. Proceed?”
“Yes! Please proceed!”
“Please confirm your request once-”
“YES!”
“Request acknowledged. Thank you! Please stand back.”
The Upriser’s face fell. “Hm? Uh, no. Hey! I need to be in the mech before you-”
But the man was too slow. Before he could return to the cockpit, the construct raised a hand glowing with blue energy. The mech lifted off the ground, wrapped in a blue glow much like the hand, and keeping pace with the appendage’s movement.
“Did you know: all deliveries airlifted via Saiba Futurist technology are treated with the highest quality standards.”
“Yeah, yeah. That’s…Hey! Where are you taking that!”
“Thank you for choosing us for your business! Saiba Futurists: the future, today!”
“Come back here!”
But the construct was already out of earshot, carrying the mech above the city to parts unknown. With a string of curses, the Upriser jumped up and down in place, now fully deprived of his vehicle.
“What am I gonna tell Risona…”

Not exactly our usual post this one. If you have come here hoping for some more stories of the cock up's we have made. Or a review of a funfair manufacturer. Then I can only apologise. The only connection we have with the star of this post, is that we are now based in Yorkshire. Oh, and I have a pilots licence, though not for rotary craft (helicopters). Most of us drive. Some of us quite a lot. A split second mistake could be disastrous, leaving any of us with serious injuries, possibly life threatening. At times like that we are quite likely to need these guys. So letting everyone know about them is always worthwhile. History Of The Air Ambulance The first air ambulance service started in 1933. With a flight from Wideford Airport in Orkney. A night time flight was made from the same location in February 1939 using car headlights to help during the take off and landing. The aircraft, registration G-ACEW was a General Aircraft Monospar. This was a fixed wing aircraft (think aeroplane) rather than the more common helicopters you see today. Both types of aircraft have their advantages. Fixed wing tend to be faster and have a longer range. Heli's the ability to land in small spaces such as on a minor road, or in an industrial estate. Emergency Air Ambulances Generally the modern service is based on helicopters. These are used to respond to medical emergencies in support of land based ambulances. Nearly all of them are charity funded. With the charities either owning the aircraft directly, or contracting in private service providers. The staff are usually seconded from the NHS and local ambulance services. There are a surprising number of Air services around the UK covering most of the country. Yorkshire Our local service was established in October 2000. Currently they operate two Airbus H145 aircraft. Like most of the services they are reliant solely on the donations of individuals and organisations. Originally developed between Airbus and Kawasaki Heavy Industries. The craft is basically the front end of Eurocopters EC135 and the rear of a BK117 C1 helicopter. A previous joint production between the two companies. Nostell Priory Base The charity was originally based in Nostell Priory, an estate in Yorkshire that was purchased by the Winn family in 1654. A family that originally made its fortune in the textile trade in London during Tudor times. The first active heli, was based at Leeds/Bradford airport, where overnight maintenance facilities allowed a high state of readiness. A new operations centre was built and became operational at Nostell in 2013, including a hanger and aircrew accommodation and the aircraft moved to that base. A second aircraft and base was opened in Sheffield in 2007, but closed a year later. With the aircraft being rebased first at Bagby in Thirsk, then eventually sharing a base at RAF Topcliffe with the 645 Gliding Squadron. There are landing pads for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance at most of the major regional hospitals including Leeds, Hull and Middlesbrough allowing high speed patient delivery straight to casualty. Photo Copyright of Wehha licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license. Richard Hammond One of the services most high profile cases was the high speed crash suffered by Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond at Elvington airfield. Hammond was driving a jet powered drag car called Vampire, powered by a Bristol-Siddeley Orpheus turbojet engine, when he crashed at 319 MPH. He was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary by the aircrew and spent five weeks recovering, including two weeks in a severe coma. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance relies entirely on charity donations. head over to their website and check out some of the merchandise on sale to support their operations.
