he doesn't like her jokes.
Tumblr media
Heather recieved a promotion, which means its once again time for her to quit her job and find a new one per her lifetime wish. and throw a party.
Tumblr media
full crowd lets gooo
Tumblr media
martin comes home right as its kicking off. i bet he is very pleased to find the apartment full of people Heather is attracted to specifically.
Tumblr media
She flirted with Gilbert enough to fall in love and become best friends with him.
Tumblr media
Martin did manage to socialize and make some friends during it all, at least.
Tumblr media
She also seduced Jason Larson, putting her at 5 loves at once.
Tumblr media
she had a great time and switched into a very lazy cat costume for halloween. I thought I had ear accessories but i did not. Martin is not dressing up, most likely because he's kinda disliked by all the people who would be really throwing parties anyway. whoops!

I've seen you answering about what your AU of Delroy and Ted are like so I wanna ask about your AU Enzo. He is my favourite character so I want to know more about him!
Again sadly I wish I knew which one ur talking about (maybe I should specify w emojis idk)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But yeah Enzo,,, I have a love-hate relationship but I want to dropkick that gringo version of him to the face of the earth I don't want to see that Harry Potter mother fucker.
Okay for 86' Enzo📼: we got a whole lot to talk mostly that I based him off my love for Heather specifically Veronica Sawyer
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So for his two "other" friends in the book (Seth and Ruben), you can take a fat guess who they're based on,,, Enzo is an upcoming track and field star (could possibly be captain by senior year-)
He's still very catty and even more vindictive in than the book (I'm writing him like a jock archetype) usually tries to maintain his status quo feeling like it's the only thing that matters so "You might as well make the best of it" he has a deep hatred for the quo due to his queerness feeling trap but is trappd into it because of Ruben who is basically head honcho of the group thus the need to stay with him. Even if Ruben himself is toxic, mean-spirited, and borderline abusive.
He feels already far deep into it thus neglecting basically everyone and everything and refusing to acknowledge his troubles so imagine now the one thing holding you down just... Dies... Now how would you and your friends cope with it? I always wanted to explore that with 86' Enzo and I understand he's a much more darker take on the character in the books so it might be more uncomfortable for some (I based him and alot of the main four on my own troubles as a teenager)
He's still super fun but will have more of a slow turnaround compared to having sorta 1 book showing that.
Okay time for the 👾unnamed AU💿: Aka This Enzo the more biblically accurate Enzo
Tumblr media
I wouldn't say I have ideas but he's still kinda his diva self in the books, still passive-aggressive (platonically) with Nick (but this time Nick like sasses back actually to his face)
Bullies Neil (He deserves it) and has more of a strained relationship with Trinity as this story goes on, I wanna base it on a line Enzo says in book 2 but now Trinity's in his face and is uh not enjoying basically being babied by Enzo thus the two tend to talk over each other and argue while Maritza & Neil sit there like children with divorce parents and it's more like Enzo isn't right but nor is Trinity with some of the plans she has
You're just kinda slowly watching a friend group get doomed cause Nick just opped out and vanished into thin air

jon's room being next to the bathroom causes a lot of concern. he's tortured by angel screaming taylor swift, one direction and various tiktok songs at the top of his lungs in the shower
ruben randomly starts singing musical soundtracks in said shower as well (no doubt he was also acting it out). this includes the heathers soundtrack and jon has never been more confused and terrified in his whole life.
zach is the most normal out of the three. although at times he fry screams which actually concerned jon at first. he's gotten used to it. for the most part zach just sings choruses of various punk, rock and shoegaze songs. jon kind of likes hearing the punk in zachs voice come out.
jon is the only normal one, with a hum every now and again.

A lot has happened in the Huffington household during the previous rotation: Heather and Joshua got married, Heather started experiencing symptoms of pregnancy, and then her sorority sister Brittany Nova moved into Heather's mansion along with her daughter after the sudden death of Brittany's husband, Castor.
And a lot is happening during this part of the week as well! Firstly, they move to a new house because the McMansion has become utterly unaffordable. Simultaneously, Tiffany, the other sorority sister that's been living with Heather, moves out to finally start a family with her now-fiance Justin Cleveland.

The land where the mansion used to be becomes a park.

Ship Names Tag Game !
Thank you @vacantgodling for tagging me !
As a multi-shipper it has become so that I ship my own characters like crazy. I even give them ship songs, which I will include in this solely because I can lol (and to give the general vibe of the ship). I may have the power to make whatever I want canon, but I won't because shipping is too fun, more so when you don't have to worry about canon lol.
I'll try to limit myself to one or two ships, both canon and not, per wip
I also can't really decide who to tag, so I'll leave this one open
Rules: make a list of ship names from your wip(s) (it's okay if they don't sound cool) for people to send in asks so you can talk about them! Fan ships count too if you're writing about them.
Amise - Amber and Louise from A Guardians Tale.
1000 Nights by Frenship : "For 1000 nights I've been a restless soul, just wasting time digging up fool's gold. It took a 1000 lives being on my own, for me to find it was all fool's gold without you."
Maasim - Max and Aasim from A Guardian's Tale.
A Million Questions by Urban Contact : "If I could ask a million questions, that would leave me wanting more. That's why I let you do the talking. Maybe that's what talking's for."
Ruruh - Ruben and Anruh from Gammellunden.
The Wreck Of Our Hearts by Sleeping Wolf : "Through the waves of the deep, and the storms of the sea, I have you and you me. We're not too far gone."
Tamdré - Tammie and André from The Neon Trilogy.
This Beating Heart by The Score : "Just settle down this beating heart, and hold me close right from the start. You set my world on fire but I can't explain, there's no light to guide me if you're not the flame. Just settle down, this beating heart."
Catsilon - Catalina and Epsilon from The Neon Trilogy.
Yellow Lights by Harry Hudson : "You’re my sunshine, you’re my rain. You’re all I’ve lost, yet all I’ve gained. If I must tell the truth."
Veo - Vega and Leo from All The Stars Are Watching.
Quiet by LIGHTS : "Tell me when you feel ready. I'm the one, there's not too many. Hold my hand to keep me steady. Just to be quiet with you."
Ivelio - Ivan and Emilio from Maledictus.
Woke The Fuck Up by Jon Bellion : "I will tell them "I am yours and very, very proud". I am forced to give in, give in now. Cause we live in an age where everything is staged, where all we do is fake our feelings, I've been scared to put myself so out there."
Honorable mentions :
Heiva - Heidi and Nova from The Garden of Corpses.
I have yet to find a song that fits them rip
The Doomed Love Triangle - Robin, Linus, and Sara from A Guardian's Tale.
I've got a whole playlist for these sad bastards, would be impossible to pick just one. They've got one song each lol (The one that got away by Katy Perry is for Sara, Heather by Conan Grey is for Linus, and No right to love you by Rhys Lewis is for Robin)

Probably very random but after your recent post on Apollo, I want to know some random facts heh! Let's see some Apollo appreciationn
Apollo definitely appreciates it, he's been pouting in the corner for a while since Tyker and Clutch stole his spotlight lol
Apollo was born February 2nd, and yes that means he was born on Groundhog's Day. Also formerly the birthday of a childhood cat. Also, that makes him an Aquarius!
He was born to parents Ruben and Sandra Valentinas, both wealthy business people (it's just like, in the family, apparently)
the majority of his family is from Columbia. Apollo (and Rey) was born in California, though.
He's a hopeless romantic, and shamelessly watches Hallmark movies during the holidays
[kinda NSFW] This man has a 'Gay card' and he has played it many a times. She hasn't made a fic appearance yet because I ditched it early, BUT, there's a wealthy woman by the name of Heather who has professional flings with Ripslinger on occasion, mostly for money reasons, and she has gotten deals with other guys (*cough cough* Dusty) and she made ONE attempt to woo Apollo, and he stood up straight and said "sorry, I prefer Almond Joys, not Mounds Bars." [Because NUTS-]
[NSFW] He has a *cough* intricate collection of *cough cough* "toys". He doesn't use them often, but when he does he makes sure to go all out.
[it's not NSFW anymore I swear] He's debated getting a pet for a long time now, and hasn't. Though, the best pet for him is most likely a Betta fish. Beautiful, solitary, and pissy.

Here's a fairly solid amount of all the different kinds of media that I think both can fit well in and could share the same universe as one of the greatest animated shows ever made, Lloyd Goldfine's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003), which you can both read and see below for yourself:
Tumblr media
• Paramount Pictures' Friday The 13th (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9 & Freddy Vs. Jason)
• Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead (1, 2, 3 & Ash Vs.)
• New Line Cinema's A Nightmare On Elm Street (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & Freddy Vs. Jason)
• Wes Craven's The People Under The Stairs
• Michael Dougherty's Trick r Treat & Krampus
• Mark Waters' The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008)
• Scott Cooper's Antlers (2021)
• Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories (every episode of the whole show except for two, Guilt Trip and Family Dog)
• Robert Zemeckis' Death Becomes Her
• Chuck Russell's The Mask (1994)
• Josh Ruben's Werewolves Within (2021)
• Remedy Entertainment's Max Payne (1, 2 & 3), Alan Wake (1, 2 & 3) & Control
• Shane Carruth's Primer (2004)
• Colin "Eh" Trevorrow's Safety Not Guaranteed
• The Spierig Brothers' Predestination
• Joe Cornish's Attack The Block (2011) & The Kid Who Would Be King (2019)
• Dean Parisot's Galaxy Quest
• Barry Levinson's Bandits (2001)
• Chris Columbus' Adventures In Babysitting (1987)
• Stephen Herek's Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead (1991)
• Jenny Clements' Mias and Elle (Webcomic Series)
• Brandon Santiago's Erma (Webcomic Series)
• Matt Reeves' Let Me In (2010)
• John Carpenter's Starman, Big Trouble In Little China & Vampires (1998)
and last but not least,

To many Heather seems like just that shallow, pretty little party girl. Maybe she can prove people wrong - by throwing the most legendary parties ever!

On Democracy In one small paragraph, Kahn outdid himself. He: *Dismissed the importance of democracy as a political issue. *Disclosed that the Times coverage is poll driven. *Asserted that coverage of the economy and immigration is favorable to Trump. *Whined that more coverage of democracy was tantamount to becoming a partisan publication.
Here’s what [Joe Kahn, executive editor of The New York Times] said: "It’s our job to cover the full range of issues that people have. At the moment, democracy is one of them. But it’s not the top one — immigration happens to be the top [of polls], and the economy and inflation is the second. Should we stop covering those things because they’re favorable to Trump and minimize them? I don’t even know how it’s supposed to work in the view of Dan Pfeiffer or the White House. We become an instrument of the Biden campaign?" [color/emphasis added] (Smith had asked Kahn to respond to Pfeiffer, a former Obama official, who recently complained that the editors at the Times  “do not see their job as saving democracy or stopping an authoritarian from taking power.”)
That one paragraph, posted on social media by NYU professor Jay Rosen, elicited a storm of critiques.
Cartoonist Ruben Bolling was among those upset by Kahn’s dismissal of democracy as a key issue. [emphasis added] "Hate to Godwin’s Law this, but what if the Berlin Bugle in 1931 said, Hitler may be a threat to democracy, but polls show that most Germans are most concerned about Communism and the Jewish problem. A journalist’s job is not to reflect the polls, but to cover the objectively important stories." [color/emphasis added]
University College London professor Brian Klaas wrote: "It is insane to me that someone in this role doesn’t understand that democracy is the superstructure for literally everything else. Democracy isn’t an issue that matters because of public opinion. It’s *the* issue that makes free public opinion possible." [color/emphasis added]
Veteran political observer Norm Ornstein wrote: "This is both cringeworthy and frightening. I can’t say it is sleepwalking to dictatorship. He is not sleeping. It is marching in that direction." [color/emphasis added]
Tumblr media
I have been very frustrated by the The New York Times election coverage. Now I know why.
It is beyond absurd that Kahn thinks that if the NY Times informs its readers about the current attempts by the right to destroy our democratic republic, it would somehow make the NY Times an "instrument of the Biden campaign."
No, it would be fulfilling one of the major purposes of a free press in a democratic republic--to speak truth to power and to inform the populace of real dangers to our democratic institutions.
[edited]
[See more quotes from the article about Kahn's quote under the cut.]
Entrepreneur and writer Anil Dash concluded: "Just so you know, NYT fully believes they have no obligation to stop the fascist attack on America. They’ve finally said so explicitly. Act accordingly." [color/emphasis added]
Many objected to Kahn’s argument that democracy is a partisan issue. [emphasis added] Extremism researcher Mark Pitcavage wrote: "This quote strongly suggests the exec editor of the NYT can’t even think of democracy as an issue other than as a Biden campaign strategy." [color/emphasis added]
OG blogger Heather “Digby” Parton wrote: "This is so, so tiresome. Nobody says it’s his job to “help” Joe Biden. It would be nice if they could find it in their hearts not to sabotage him though." [color/emphasis added]
Others were horrified that Kahn breezily suggested that the economy and immigration were favorable stories for Trump. [emphasis added] Journalist and author James Surowiecki wrote: "If the NYT covers it accurately, the economy is not an issue that is 'favorable to Trump.'” [color/emphasis added]
A Twitter user named Hank Hoffman wrote: "The Exec. Editor of @nytimes  believes immigration, the economy, & inflation are issues 'favorable to Trump.' "Just to take immigration, why would a plan for militarized mass deportations & concentration camps be 'favorable to Trump?' How’s a STRONG economy 'favorable to Trump?'" [color/emphasis added]
Some took offense at the notion that the Times was so poll driven. [emphasis added] Journalist Reed Richardson wrote: "Conceptualizing democracy as a kind of niche issue that a free press should only prioritize in coverage according to how many people rate its importance in a poll is a huge tell about why the NYTimes’s current election coverage has been so myopic, timid, and consistently unable to meet the moment." [color/emphasis added]
Others thought that was just a cop-out of an excuse. [emphasis added] University of Illinois professor Nicholas Grossman wrote: "Biden’s age isn’t among voters’ top issues in polls, but the NY Times made it a recurring top story anyway Voters sure didn’t say they care about the president of Harvard, but the Times made that the number one story for days. When NYT editors care, they don’t defer to polls." [color/emphasis added]
I encourage people to read the entire article. It is worth it.
“But critics like me aren’t asking the Times to abandon its independence. We’re asking the Times to recognize that it isn’t living up to its own standards of truth-telling and independence when it obfuscates the stakes of the 2024 election, covers up for Trump’s derangement, and goes out of its way to make Biden look weak.”
— New York Times editor Joe Kahn says defending democracy is a partisan act and he won’t do it
