It's kinda embarassing on how far I've fallen down the fandom rabbit hole, since I'm making fanart of a fanfic, but gosh darn it if I'm not absolutely in love with @heartslogos writing.

Their style can go from reflective and poetic to cute and silly, to absolutely heart wrenching. Like, when I say I never thought I could care so much about a sentient building you know a writer is doing something magical.

This particular scene is from "A Stellar Comedy" and it had me grinning like an absolute idiot. It's one of their more lighthearted and lighter reads, but it still has some deliciously gut punching moments, imo. If you haven't read any of heartslogos' fanfics, I highly, highly recommend to do so, their interpretation of AlHaitham and Kaveh's personalities and relationship is so freaking good.

Dick bats Tim’s hands away and undoes the tie for him, ruffling Tim’s hair and laughing when Tim gives him an annoyed look, ducking down under Dick’s arm to get away.

“No, no. No. You’re not listening. As usual. Are you sure that you don’t have hearing loss? I mean. I feel like you should have definite hearing loss by now. You probably should get that checked out. Or maybe it’s something psychological. Selective hearing loss. Like selective mutism.”

“Who’re you talking to?” Jason asks from the chair he’s sprawled in, glaring at the crossword with a pen balanced on his upper lip.

“No one.” Tim says. “No one important. Yeah, shots fired. You heard me. No one important. As in you are not important.”

“Are you talking to us? Or the phone?”

“Both. Neither. I don’t know.” Tim throws his free hand up in the air. “Get her some protection for her fucking face, okay? My face is starting to feel sore just looking at her.”

“Who are you talking about? Steph?”

Tim waves his hand at them and walks out of the room to the kitchen. Dick follows after because while Tim is excellent at doing things with one hand, he has a tendency to drop things when on the phone because of the instinctual urge to gesture and flail.

“Well you should also provide insurance. This is the twenty first century. You’re the one who called me, so really if you’re unhappy with this conversation – hopefully as unhappy as I am – then it’s your fault. Reflect on your actions and lack of forethought. Also stop calling me. I can’t change my number again.”

Dick raises an eyebrow and wonders if he needs to be actual cop Dick Grayson and help Tim file a restraining order.

But you don’t usually bicker with people you need restraining orders against, at least, not like that. Unless, you’re Tim, apparently.

Tim rolls his eyes and gets pours himself some water, looking like the extremely bored teenager he is before hanging up and pocketing his phone. Probably mid-sentence.

“So. Who were you talking to?” Because Dick isn’t very subtle and no one expects him to be.

Tim looks at him and hums, sipping his water.

“If I tell you, you’ll probably flip.” Tim says. “So I’m thinking about whether or not you deserve that right now.”

Dick raises an eyebrow.

“I’ve decided that neither you, nor I, need you flipping out.” Tim decides. “Because I have had to deal with too much today. And I feel like I shouldn’t be bringing more shit on myself, you know? This is me trying to live positively. Don’t harsh my vibes, Dick.”

Prompt: Ra's and Tim interacting in front of the Batfam. Maybe something about the assassins he worked with in Red Robin.

“Ok, no – but. Seriously. If she keeps breaking her face you’re going to need to seriously get her some protection.” Tim says, phone crammed between his shoulder and ear as he struggles to undo his tie. “I know she doesn’t listen to you.  No one listens to you. I’m just saying maybe you could try harder and maybe she’ll give in due to annoyance. I mean, sometimes that works. Not on me, obviously. But maybe’ll it’ll work on her.”
