@heartsdefine didn't like my starter call but you get a thing anyway. :)

Hel stalked quick and quiet, weaving through the trees and avoiding branches and leaves on the forest floor as she stealthed by. Everything would have moved smoothly were it not for the elf pressed to the tree a mere hundred meters ahead. The redhead frowned deeply as she caught Tauriel's eyes and slowly turned her head as if to ask, 'what are you doing?'

This band of Orcs was notorious. Violent and devastating to all who's path they crossed. It didn't stand to reason that there was a lone elf tracking them too.

Her heart rate picked up as a bead of worry pressed heavily on her chest. She mouthed the words, "Why are you here?" to the other woman.

If she had had more sense, she would've used her ósanwe to communicate but she was so caught off guard that didn't even occur to the Valië.

Hal tilted their head slightly, turning towards the direction of the river. Although they had never been in the Elf King's dungeons, it wasn't difficult to work out how Bilbo had gotten them to escape. "Mind if I join you? I was meant to meet them at the bridge but got waylaid."

A slow born smile unfurled on Hel's lips. With help, this should be easy.

She signaled to Tauriel to wait as she grabbed something from the purse attatched to her belt. It looked like a small bundle of dried herbs. She then covered her eyes with a hand and pointed at Tauriel, warning her to keep her eyes closed while she dropped it into the fire.

It fell quickly and erupted into smoke just as fast.

Before Tauriel had the chance to motion anything else, Hel slipped from the branch beneath her and landed, her knees bent and her hands on either side of her body. She barely made a sound.

And then. And then, she caught one at the neck, slashing quickly through his throat, his voice box, his jugular. She ducked low as she moved swift and quiet across the ground, cutting ankles as she went.

Various screams, yelps and groans sounded as she went but most emphatically came the thuds. The sounds of heavy bodies on the ground as she felled them. One hand to hold, the other to carve.

        Tauriel had been tracking this party of orcs for some time through the woods, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. She moved through the trees with well-practiced stealth, steps light and careful amongst the brush. Now she crouched on a branch above them, pressed against the trunk, watching them build a fire when a flash of red caught her eye.

        The elf froze, head whipped around to find another woman hiding in the woods across from her. What are you doing? the unfamiliar maiden mouthed, followed shortly by another phrase: Why are you here?

        Tauriel's brow furrowed, a glance cast between the woman and the group of orcs. She thought it was quite obvious why she was there, and what she was doing. These orcs needed dealing with and if no one else would track and kill them, she'd do so herself. Both brows raised, she turned back to the woman, her inquiry clear: Shall we?
