For what it’s worth, whenever I’m homesick, it’s for this place and for all of you.

Jake and I are meant to be together any more than Lou and Scott.

WRITTEN IN THE STARS
Heartland 10x14 Review
Been out of the country for the past few days so finally catching up on Heartland… I do admit I was a little spoiled on the episode but only on a few plot points ;) and I still managed to enjoy the episode!
RELATABLE QUOTE OF THE EPISODE
“I’m the one who broke up with Adam, so why does it hurt so much?” - Georgie
MALLORY AND JAKE
Mallory casually mentioning that her and Jake decided to get married, and Lou and Jack’s reaction to her just casually dropping the information was priceless. I’m surprised Mallory and Jake didn’t want to tell their parents, and while I understand how they didn’t want it to get messy, I would at the very least want them to know.
In the beginning, she didn’t seem so thrilled to be engaged. They even wanted different goals (travelling vs. putting down roots in Hudson), even disagreeing on the kids issue. In the end she realized that she loved Jake, especially to the point where she looked heartbroken when Jake drove away.
I’m glad they got back together but after all that hesitation Mallory had about marrying Jake, it did seem a little rushed- like maybe they should have been engaged for a bit first and made sure it was really right, maybe even talked about what they wanted for the future besides being with each other… but HOW the wedding went down as perfect. In the barn where Mallory spent most of her days with her family, with Jack walking her down the aisle. If only Ty was able to Skype in and witness it (or be there in person) it’d be perfect.
Overall, I really enjoyed this arc though and if it had to be a two episode arc, i’m glad it ended happy. Now all we need is a Soraya and Ashley cameo...
GEORGIE
Adam asking for his math textbook… and everything else because “he didn’t want to come back” was a little insensitive. The way he asked for it seemed like he didn’t really care enough about Georgie to be polite or even try to play up a façade of trying to be nice. Even his thank you seemed curt. I understand that he’s hurt, but just because someone breaks up with you doesn’t mean all their feelings disappeared completely- that takes time and in some ways you will still always care for them (see Lou and Scott). Georgie still cares about Adam even though she broke up with him, which was evident when she fell off the horse and broke down.
I feel like Georgie needed to breakdown about the breakup, in order for her to fully start healing, recovering and to fully have success training Tab as a trick-riding horse.
LOU AND MITCH
Lou made all this effort to make this nice to dinner to tell the family, only for Mallory too of course, ruin her plans- not intentionally.  Not to mention Scott dropping by also put a little wrench in their plans, as does Mallory going back to her old habits and then trying to set up Scott and Lou!
I understand Lou not wanting to tell the family about Mitch in front of the Scott since, no matter how over your ex you are, some of the awkwardness will always be there, but I don’t understand why they couldn’t tell the family slowly. Like pull Jack aside first, and then slowly spread the news? Or tell them the next morning? Why is it telling them now or in two weeks?
In the end Mallory revealed it to Jack (of course). Lou, of course wanted perfect timing but with Mitch’s urging she told the family. Katie’s first reaction was adorable and Georgie first reaction was appropriate for someone who just broke up with her boyfriend.  In the end, that’s exactly what her reaction was and both Katie and Georgie were okay with it (though I doubt they’d want to see an PDA from them).
TAB
Tab gets a mention here because it’s what brought Scott back to Heartland to our TV screens. So plus one for Tab! Plus it was also really nice to see Amy and Jack working together again! Can’t help but wish that Amy was riding herself, but I guess we have that to look forward next season(?).
TY (AND AMY)
I’m so glad that Mallory and Ty got to talk, at the very least on skype! And Bob calling Amy huge and then Ty saying, “Don’t say that!” was a testament to how much Bob is kind of socially awkward. Even Bob near the end of the Skype call seemed a little immature… but at the same time it didn’t surprise me.
ODDS AND ENDS
· Snow sighting! I know the timeline is different and all, but it was still weird to see snow with the Jack and Mitch scene then go to green grass.
· Jack saying he wasn’t surprised that Mitch and Lou got together reminded me of when he gave Ty the talk when Ty and Amy started dating... Nice throwback from when another Fleming sister dated the previous ranch hand ;)
· I can’t wait to hear what Tim has to say about Lou and Mitch! … To that end, I hope we SEE his reaction because in some ways I feel like they won’t even follow up with this storyline.
· Mallory’s quote about taking care of Copper (and Jack) because they’re not as young as they used to be
· If what they threw at Mallory and Jake was rice, I have to say raw rice actually really hurts when being thrown at you
RATING
My super informal poll (that may be a little biased.. well a lot because only 3 people answered so its going to be pretty skewed) indicated an average rating of 6.67.. and I am inclined to agree. I would rate this a 7-7.5, because while I did enjoy it, i thought some parts were particularly rushed, but at the same time well done- hence the average rating.
