             Bowser wasn’t really found of those Christmas traditions, but he for sure was aware of the meaning of certain things... Like that little plant on top of him and the kirin for example, meaning that they had to share a kiss. But alas, the Koopa was no fool. He could see that the other did that on purpose by the glimpse in her eyes, not helping a half smirk build up on his features as well. He liked it. He enjoyed this kind of challenge.

             “Jumping straight to the point today, aren’t we?” The monarch teased as he leaned closer, lifting Edana’s chin by a claw with a smirk. He could do it, right here and right now... But it might ruin the fun of with, wouldn’t it? The tension between them at that moment was really enjoyable...

             The gap between their faces inched closer and closer, a faint bit of smoke parting away from the king’s lips and... It happend. He went for the kiss! Not a long one though, but sure it had a bit of a hint within.

             A hot hint, even.

“Renatus. Renatus Nicator.”

Without so much as skipping a beat, Renatus bowed his head and daintily grasped her fingers in his own. Then he brought her knuckles up to his lips and places a soft, chaste kiss on the tips.

“It is a pleasure, your majesty.”

This was a situation where he had the benefit of knowing more about his guest than she knew about him. Though, to be perfectly fair, he didn’t know much. Celestia had set this up, and had been practically bouncing off the walls as she had done so. She hadn’t told him much of anything, just that she wanted him to meet her dear younger sister. Which presumably made Luna royalty as well, and she certainly looked the part.

Despite the familial resemblance, Luna seemed intent to be Celestia’s exact opposite. Darker colors instead of bright pastels. Silver in lieu of gold. And, according to Celestia’s intel, a bit of a shut-in. Though, he had to say, Luna was handling herself quite well so far.

Perhaps Celestia was mistaken? Or perhaps Celestia had just been comparing her sister to herself. The elder princess was, after all, quite... gregarious.

Yeah. Yeah let’s go with that.

               ❝ Really? How about you try telling your parents that, then? ❞ The Lasat was bent down close to Edana, leering at her. As much he would rather not look after this bratty princess, it was now his duty as her royal guard to watch her. And she only had herself and her brother to blame for it.

               He stood back up straight, sighing heavily in frustration. ❝ As much as we don't like it, it's my job to protect you. It's up to you if it's gonna be babysitting or not, Your Highness. ❞

             The monarch was admittedly a little too focused on his report reading that he failed to notice someone was in the room with him, slightly jolting from his seat when Edana plopped on his lap to catch his attention. Quite the surprise, but a welcome one for sure. He adjusted himself on his throne and threw the papers away to give full and proper attention to his new guest.

             “I sincerely apologize for such mishap from my end,” Bowser lifted a clawed finger and twirled it around a string of the kirin’s hair. “But now that I am here, I have all the time in the world to appreciate your beautiful face~” He cooed with a small grin. “Tell me, is there anything I can do to properly apologize for my absence?”

Vinyl had always been something of a night owl. Spending numerous nights awake as she worked on new songs, new mixes. It was a considerably terrible habit of her’s by many, yet there was some comfort in knowing she wasn’t the only one. A quiet, up beat rhythm was softly hummed by the pale unicorn, features smiling as bright cerise eyes fell onto the princess that had stolen away her heart, her side gently leaning against Luna’s as she came to stand at her side. Who needed sleep when the night belonged to the two of them?
