IMO the heart of the forest arc should have included characters we already knew, instead of dropping a handful of new characters each episode to never revisit them. Like have the Junk Lord be defensive over one of the pieces! Have Kit be selling them! Have Roger exist idk! Maybe I'm just a sucker for the s1-s2 side characters.

My thoughts exactly, it would've been a GREAT opportunity to explore the side characters we already knew or be a good excuse to give them episodes lol. And so I can have a break from trying not to get attached to one-time characters so I'm not sad over not seeing them again. *side eyeing Gordy, Keef, Sun-Chun and The Plush Kids*

idk if this is a hot take but I wholeheartedly despise the whole rubix cube arc. It's so stupid how they formatted it and plugged in random filler episodes. It felt so clunky and the finale was so unsatisfying, especially when the main setup/plot point was the elders separating, but that went NOWHERE so it makes the entirety of season 5 feel so unorganized and muddy idk. The finale itself failed to really tie everything together and conclude much when they found the last piece (kinda suck at explaining well cause it's been a while since I've watched the show, but yeah)

We do have 10 episodes left. Let's see if they can redeem themselves

“Galactic Goodbyes” but make it “Craig to the Future”

so when I was watching s4 of cotc, I got an idea from watching the band in “Galactic Goodbyes.” I’m a real suck for idol/band aus, so I thought, “why don’t I make one myself?” So here is the first chapter of my fic, “PEANUT HEAD!!!”

Summary:

10 years after finding the Heart of the Forest, Craig has been making music in the band Peanut Head (yes, they kept the name) with all of his friends who helped create “Sparkle Planet.” When Peanut Head is invited to a Battle of the Bands, Sparkle finds herself face to face with someone she never thought she would see again…

(Rated Teen & up because future chapters may include swearing and language not suitable for children)

UPDATE: so the consensus seems to be that the episodes don't quite represent how time flows, and the creators themselves said that Craig's around 6th grade in the present episodes.

I still think this was a fun lil thing to look into and still find the Gibson detail worth pointed out

so I've been doing the math* and if we take that COTC starts with Craig in the 4th grade and count every start of school year/winter episode that passes... Craig would be 12-13 as of Heart of the Forest?

and it lowkey means that Elders started out as 15-ish years old?

there's also an unintentional hint that Gibson might be born in 2005 since that's in his social media handle and people tend to do that

so if he's meant to be 17-18 rn to be graduating that would put the show in current future (caught up with real time give or take a year)
