Nah, not really, but… I’m reminded a bit of his Heroes quote: “We all have a place in our hearts that we’d…prefer…that no one goes poking around in.”

And while I’m all for his more chipper demeanour, I like to think there’s this very real distance, this hesitation in him about allowing anyone close. Emotions and attachments can be dangerous after all - and he’s already paid the price/been royally fked up by em more than once. 

That being said, I feel he probably emotes or reacts more than he would like to. Like if he could just turn off that part of himself, he’d be a much better spy… If he could turn into a machine and shut down his emotions completely there’s a chance he might jump on that train. On the other hand though, he fancies being human is an important tool in his arsenal as far as gaining others’ trust goes, and would very much hesitate to throw that away. It’s a precarious balance and he does slip up from time to time.

But as for ‘love’… Screw that. Depending on which point in his story I’m writing, he’s either still very much torn up, or in the process of healing, and the concept, the mere idea of loving again is something he ain’t touching with a 50 foot pole.
