I'M ON TIME WOOOOHOOO! Haha, finally got around my art block for Sunny's birthday. Anyway, I wanted to somehow replicate OMOCAT's art for Mari, Aubrey and Basil's birthday and to fit the theme, I decided to give Sunny a headspace feel too.

Also, I found this art I made last year actually and never gotten around to posting it. So I just change up the date. Enjoy~

thinking about how one of kel's first lines is "man, aubrey always gets what she wants". thinking about how aubrey wanted to go see sweetheart's show for hearts, so hero took them all to sweetheart's show for hearts. thinking about how aubrey told molly not to touch omori, and she didn't again.

thinking about how all aubrey wanted was to keep her friend group together. thinking about how aubrey's clothes are too big in headspace, she only has one toy and in the real world, her house is a tip with her room almost bare. thinking about how aubrey wanted to keep the photos of mari and throw the rest in the bin, and how she put them back in the album after kel picked it out of the trash.

thinking about how sunny viewed her as a protector of his as a kid, someone who'd look for for him, and how the hooligans trust her to lead and look out for them, and how hero and mari were like older siblings to her when she was younger, and how aubrey's parents didn't look out for her. thinking about how aubrey is angry and insulted and violent and vengeful, and how she wants the girl she knew as a sister to come back. thinking about how she believes she wasn't enough for her old friends, for anyone. thinking about how little possessions she has, how she pushes away people who care about her, how she's viewed as a "bad kid" by the residents of faraway.

want is such a big theme with aubrey. in headspace, every one of hers is fulfilled. in the real world, we see almost none being.

MILD OMORI SPOILERS (?)

i wish they got to interact more man so i drew this lil test for some headspace v real world stuff!

I’d like to think Omori is his inner child as well, and the marks on Sunny’s mind make him a much angrier kid so he lashes out at him. All Sunny wants to do is dream. All Omori wants to do is have a dream of their own.

Some headcanons for post-neutral ending Stranger!

Stranger's appearance changes a lot after Sunny moves away, both to protect his Headspace and to conserve his memory of Basil. It no longer represents Basil; neither Sunny nor Omori want it to represent Basil, so they turn it into something that isn't Basil.

Initially, the Dreamer deformed Stranger. If this devil that stalked him is the cause of Basil's suicide, then a devil it shall become. Long fleshy limbs, giant claws, a beastly tail, a stature that towers far above anything good, famished flesh—an appearance as inhuman as the Dreamer can make it. Stripped of the clothes that once belonged to Basil because those are not for Stranger to wear. Robbed of a mouth, it can no longer speak. And as a punishment for its sins, the flower crown was replaced with a crown of thorns.

So that now, whenever it's seen in Headspace, it will suffer by the intrinsic nature of its form.

However, as the reality of Sunny's hand in Basil's death starts to break through, Stranger changes. Those wild locks of hair the Dreamer couldn't get rid of resemble Basil's more with each day. The freckles that would flare up on Basil's skin each summer stand dotted on Stranger's shadows like stars in the night sky. Wherever it walks, dark flowers flourish and strangle the colourful whimsy of Headspace with shadows. And on its stomach, that deep, dark wound that took Basil oozes and pulses with tendrils that string it up like dark wings.

Sometimes, eyes blink inside that dark void that sprawls over its abdominal cavity. The Dreamer ignores them at all costs. Nothing good lies within. It does not merit investigation.

Little did the Dreamer know that when he chose to demonise and punish, he was creating a martyr.
