template: simple geometry

this is a fully customizable template i originally made as a dash theme header for one of my characters and then got carried away with. you could use it for acceptance graphics or a regular character template, too! two psds are included: one of the example above, and one that will work for dash themes on desktop without too much editing. it will require some messing with it to get it to look good on mobile. feel free to get creative with how you use this, but personal use only, please! i encourage you to change colors and images and fonts–– everything to suit your own purpose! hopefully the template is fairly straightforward because everything is labeled, but knowledge of how to use clipping masks and how to make a png of your character is needed. all of the zodiac sign symbols are included, and all you have to do is toggle visibility.

Welcome to our prompt event! Very simple concept, you'll have a set of five prompts to complete for an entry into a raffle for cool prizes! Isn't that nice? There's also extra challenges for bonus entries into the raffle, and a special prize for those that complete every challenge AND prompt! All the information under the read more ^^ (this totally isnt an excuse to run an event because we want to nooo why would you think that)

Challenge list

1 : Do the opposite of your style! High contrast/Low Contrast, Pastels/Dark, Neon/Desaturated, so on and so forth (You don’t have to flip it entirely, just one is enough)

2 : Make an edit inspired by someone else’s style! (No need to tag them but do drop the editor)

3 : Make a poster for a character of your choice

4 : Make a moodboard with pictures you took yourself! (I don’t have a way of proving this but gentleman’s rule <3)

Event Information

Complete 5 prompts (or replace them w/ challenges) and you get an entry

Each extra challenge apart of your five prompts (+ the prompt 4 extra) adds another entry (challenges that replaced prompts dont count). Your challenge HAS to be made as a separate edit for it to count.

Complete all challenges and prompts and you get a priority edit of your choice of any character (excluding blacklist) as a bonus onto your entries

You dont need to do one per day! You can do multiple in one day as long as they're in order (Excluding challenges, which can be done in whatever order). In theory you could post all 9 edits the last day if you really wanted to ^^

Prev anon here, if it isn't too much of a hassle a post about your gif settings would great! I used to make gifs years ago and every time I felt like making a set these days I just don't know what I'm doing anymore XD. Like, I forgot everything about how I used to make gifs in photoshop.

hello again!! I tried making it as comprehensible as i could for you and also to the people who wants to start making gifs :D

you can simply scroll to the ps settings if thats all you need ^^

Vapoursynth (If you don't have it, it's totally okay to just use ps because this is really just a matter of preference bcs i feel like resizing in photoshop worsens the quality)

simply drag the video(preferably 1080p or above) you want to use to the vapourscript!

3. this thing shows up, just write the timestamp and the duration (ex.if the clip you want starts at 1:24 and ends at 1:27 then the encoding duration would be 4 seconds)

4. after that, you'll be taken to the resizer and you can adjust the size of the gif here and sharpening here too. i like to add a bit of finesharp because i also feel like the processing lowers the quality a little

5. copy the text at the top right and paste it onto the vs editor

6. (forgot to take a pic but you can choose which frames you want to process by clicking script and then preview at the top) 7. click script and then encode, change preset to Export to MOV and header to Y4M and then click start

8. after that's done you can close it, and move onto photoshop! 9. once you've opened photoshop, click on file on the top left, click import and the video frames to layers 10. look for the output folder and there you can see the encoded file

11. Delete the frames you don't want and then we can start on the sharpening! 12. click on the 4 lines at the frame window and then select all frames

13. go to select at the top and then select all layers

14. click on filter and then convert for smart filters

15. and now for the sharpening! click on filter, sharpen and then smart sharpen! (here are the settings<3)

(ps. the unsharp mask is simply there because i want to test it out) 17. once you're finished with the sharpening, you can now flatten it into layers

18. delete the first layer 19. click on convert to frame animation

20. finally make frames from layers (you can find it above flatten into layers) 21. set the frame delay to 0.02 (for 60fps) or 0.04 (for 30fps)

22. colouring depends on your preference, my psd can be downloaded on the source link ^^ 23. go to file, export and save for web

THE CHIAKI GIF HEADER IS SO CUTE AUGHGUGHUGHH her little heart eyes!!!! instant points for this. it is so so sweet and I could stare at it all day <333 beyond that, I love your title font -- it is Very You -- and I think comboing pink/purple is a good choice!! the exact shades you picked make your text a little hard for me to read, though. idk my eyes are just weird (I do need new glasses OTL), but they feel too low-contrast. I almost wonder how it would look if the background & text colors were swapped!

lastly, while I love your icon (the little border is a wonderful touch), it doesn't quiiiite match the rest of the theme. I see that you put a PSD over it to make the image a little warmer, which definitely helps, but the blue still throws it off just a tiny bit to me. still, good vibes overall <3 cute theme with cute girls!

I am SOO in love with your desktop theme -- when I remade my tumblr, I was kind of hoping I'd be able to track it down and use it myself! I just can't get enough of the sidebar.... the little circle icons are so classy, and then when the extended menu animates open and you see the little stars... ughhhh it's sooo aesthetically pleasing. and I have to gush over the fonts too lol, the italic font w/ the tiny sans-serif is a sweet and feminine combination.

you've coordinated each element of the theme to make it floaty and dreamy: the shade of Hikari's eyes goes well w/ the background image of the clouds, which furthers the "evening sky" theme you have going w/ the sidebar stars (and your background is pixel art, which kind of fits w/ the Chiaki portrait you have!). it feels ethereal with the words "fall back / delve further" to switch between pages. I would like to get lost in your blog forever pls.

I just have a couple of nitpicks -- one is that the post data is difficult to read on the side. the light gray doesn't contrast enough w/ the purple to my eyes. the other is that your blog is very heavily left-aligned, leaving a lot of empty space on the right. this isn't necessarily a bad thing; it's just that more centered blogs are my personal taste.

altogether such a joy to look at though! I think of the song "Dream" by CircusP ft. Luka when I see your theme <3 thanks for sending this in!!!
