SLIGHTLY. CHANGING MY ASKR TIMELINE HCS so that Alfonse was 18/19 when joining the Order. Which would have made Sharena a Teen teen when joining, following after him.

LIKE.... I was REALLY attached to the idea that Alfonse waited for her, before going. Kind of like what my older sisters did, where one put off going to college for a year or so to wait for the other so they could go together. It's just such a sweet gesture from an older sibling.... and something I can 100% see Alfonse doing.

But I'm ALSO considering. The idea of Alfonse being so stressed and restless and unhappy (though he can't place Why) that he just needs to leave Immediately. And Sharena, not about to be left behind, follows him (Unsure if it was planned between them, or an impulse decision they both made when Sharena Realized what Alfonse was about to do, or if she LITERALLY stowed away about it against his will But she's here now. And it's clear she intends to Stay. So. It may be wiser to keep her at my side, to ensure she doesn't run into any trouble....) (ALSO THE IDEA. THAT ON A SUBCONSCIOUS LEVEL. Alfonse Knows he can't leave her There. He couldn't tell you Why. But he can't leave her with.... leave her, in that lonely, secluded, isolated place.)

WHICH. WHICH. REGARDLESS OF HOW IT PLAYED OUT. The Implications here go CRAZY. How Alfonse is exclusively to blame for Sharena's decision she made herself. How Sharena is invalidated and neglected, so much so that their parents just. Let her do that. As young as 16, if I'm placing them to be maybe two years apart. Also how that WOULD have made her a child soldier. Not as severe as Anna's and even Bruno's case (all hc territory there) but like. The idea that Sharena experienced Enough bare minimum stability to get her by. The fact that she was so emotionally neglected that she'd choose this, anyway. And it would be Freedom for her. Epitome of "I didn't have it As Bad as my peers/loved ones, but...."

After some back and forth, we settled on June for this event - giving us nearly two months to work with as of posting this!

The way I headcanon time in FEH goes like this:

Inspired by THIS POST by @moe-broey, I thought I would share my thoughts:

Book One -

Takes about 6 months

Sharena is 15-16, Alfonse is 17-19 (no pressure to marry yet, so late teens makes sense), Anna is 21, and the summoner is somewhere in the middle

Veronica is 14 because I know kids around that age who act like her, Bruno is 20-21

Book Two -

Takes about 6 months,

Everyone has one year added to their age by the end

Fjorm is 18, Hrid and Gunnthra are 24-25, Ylgr is 6-7

Laevatein is 15, Laegjarn is 19

Book Three -

Canonically takes 2 weeks,

Eir is 17-18, little bit older than Sharena, Lif and Thrasir are however old Alfonse and Veronica are +10

Book Four -

Dream time is weird (3 days?)

We can assume at least a few months have passed since Book Three, since no one is mourning Gustav anymore

Peony is Sharena's age, Trianda is whatever that is + 3, Mirabilis is Sharena - 1, Plumeria is about the same as Triandra

Intermission One -

Ice and Fire!

Laegjarn is the same age as Fjorm now since she was dead for a year

I got this random headcannon of people not knowing the summoner’s gender, which is the reason why everyone uses they/them pronouns for the summoner.

Like I know people don’t know the summoner’s face but like….do they actually know what the summoner’s gender is?

I like to think only a small amount of people knowing the summoner’s gender, Alfronse being one of them, just because the Summoner knows he can keep a secret.

It’s the reason why a good number of the heroes use they/them pronouns for the Summoner because they just don’t know, and the Summoner purposely drags it out for the heck of it because they find it amusing.

Anna turned it into a game to earn more money, while Sharena is just trying to find ways to find out.

This just encourages the heroes to try and take off the Summoner’s hood to find out because most of them are stressing over the fact that they fear they are misgendering the Summoner.

I swear this headcanon is so stupid but I love it and will cling onto it.

As the "protagonist" of a gacha game, AKA a soft harem game, it only makes sense for the self-insert character to be aroace! Got folks of all genders throwing themselves at you for no understandable reason? Got people taking your lack of interest as a personal challenge? Why, that sounds like the perfect setting for a character to realise and/or profess their aroace-ness!

Do u have any personal Kiran headcanons for your own Kiran?

okay. get ready.

my hc is that kiran is, objectively speaking, a demigod of sorts.

if you ever watched re:creators or read some stuff about the gnostics or even some christian studies level of stuff then it might make sense immediately what im talking about.

basically: kiran isn't human in the same way that everyone else in the FE verse is. i hc they're really just a regular everyday person, who happens to be a FE nerd with a good head on their shoulders whisked away into a the FEverse.

but kiran isn't really a god. in shorthand, they're similar to an angel or a deva. they dont partake in the creation of the FEverse (thats intsys' job), but they partake in the indulgence side of it all. and they might be interested enough that it becomes a media they happily consume. and that consumption of the media by the audience in turn supports the cycle of creation for more FE and thus FEverse gets expanded like that

very meta. and like in gnosticsm or even christianity the God that spawns creation and fate is unknowable. they are so unknowable that the creation they spawn doesnt even know if they are god or a creation capable of further creation, and creates more unknowing of the fact that these creation becomes actualized in some form out there in the vast infinity of whatever

so you know like. when we like blorbo/s so much we kinda. put them in situations. because. drama is fun. watching the blorbos struggle is fun. watching them overcoming stuff is fun.

and although i mention we partake as audiences, our combined taste does have influence over the process of creation. for example, awakening wouldnt exist if intsys didnt get desperate and shoved everything they think might appeal to audiences into the game, and thereby gain our approval, effectively granting the right for the rest of FE to exist.

so combine the two above and. isekai. oops.

kiran now looks like a psychopathic admirer of the FE heroes who gets their rocks off watching actual people struggle. woah! the bigger the struggle, the more entertaining it is, the better the payoff, and so it gets really difficult to be even normal about the heroes.

maybe kiran doesnt see FE characters as actualized people in the beginning. maybe they negotiate with themselves about the dissonance of it all. maybe at some point they realize, "this is fucked up, actually. i can't be gleeful about hearing these people talk about their troubles and worries while knowing what fates are in store for them."

but in some parts, that gleefulness doesnt ever go away. the fact that they know doesnt go away. the knowing in itself becomes a curse, and the distance is permanent. even if they like them, bc hey, the reason why they know all these info is bc kiran loves the blorbos enough to read up on all of them!

combined that with them being capable of summoning multiple copies of the same heroes. what does that mean for the relationship they might form? they know every marth, but does every marth know them? can the marths even begin to form a proper understanding or relationship? what if another marth comes? what then?

multiply that by like. 500. yikes.

the only exception to all of these are the Heroes natives ofc. alfonse and sharena is their strongest anchor because they can be normal with them. but, the siblings are not at all immune to the FEverse MC tropey fates that awaits, and so kiran's brain runs on predictive mode trying to avoid this and that.

but despite their best efforts, they cant prevent fate. they cant prevent gustav from dying and protect one of the few people they care about from getting hurt.

so they try even harder. bc their prev world has drilled in the idea of meritocracy so much, the idea of productivity at all cost under capitalism, and gave them the skillset to learn on the fly that failure is not an option.

kiran might have been a person with their life barely beginning back home.

in that world before, their identity was built up over 2 decades by the people surrounding them, blood or otherwise. and everything they interacted with there defined their identity. they can share and talk about things they encountered in games normally. there is normalcy here. logic here.

but once in the world of FEheroes, all that built up in 20 years becomes nothing and twisted. their identity folds into itself. their knowledge is a curse. their friendships are the weight of entire suns. there is insanity here, and indulgence and people with delicious dramatic stories to consume and hear at every corner if they so politely asked. in return, they would offer knowledge and counsel. (they wouldnt, ofc. so no heroes really gets to know them in full. look directly into the sun and be blinded, its kinda shitty like that)

and breidablik gives them power. to control, to contract, to plant suggestions. the heroes know, the specifics of the contract ofc, bc thats ethical. being morally upright to the heroic universe they love so much was never in question. so they play the part of the friendly summoner, let the heroes believe in their goodwill, bc the other option is to be truthful and get close and consume.

alfonse and sharena becomes their everything. jailer, god, summoner, champion, curse, blessing, friends, to protect at all cost, to give themselves to for whatever they desire. their reason for existing and continuing.

and if kiran fails, if alfonse or sharena gets twisted, then, well. the identity of evreyone's friendly cheerful summoner would have to get redefined, wouldnt it?

Intermission I: Festival

Occasionally in my stories there will be chapters called intermissions, where the focus will be on interactions between characters and are used to move the story along, as to not linger too long at a certain point. As a rule, intermissions hold no plot points, but that doesn't mean that the points brought up won't be touched upon later. Essentially, these can be seen as filler. Intermissions are formatted like headcanons for the sake of efficiency.

• Once Xinyan started playing, everyone was in awe. You had tried to explain rock to them before but could never find the right words, and it was made abundantly clear why from this performance.

• Hu Tao spent a great deal of time listening to Mercedes's ghost stories, enamored by the feeling of a chill running down her spine from words alone.

• Xiangling was having the time of her life. Not only was Raphael willing to taste test almost anything, but Dedue was more than willing to share some Duscur recipes.

• Ashe and Xingqiu hit it off almost immediately. How could they not while they both hold a burning passion for literature, chivalry, and justice? They've both commented on how the other seems like a hero from a story they read, one of noble birth and one of humble origins.

• You already know but I'm going to say it anyway. Felix and Childe got into a fight. It was actually closer than you'd think, Childe still won but he was so impressed that someone without a vision could do so well against him. Offered to be Felix's sparring partner again in the future.

• Beidou, Catherine, Jeralt, and Alois are now drinking buddies.

• You shared your reward money with the others, not having much use for the sheer amount and also knowing you wouldn't regret it as Ningguang has already discussed a meeting schedule with Alfonse and Sharena to discuss a currency exchange rate.

• Dorothea, Manuela, and Yun Jin discuss how operas of their respective worlds differ, the two divas hoping to give the current opera singer any pointers they can. She likely doesn't need any, but she's so curious that she wouldn't say that out loud.

• Hilda, finally having some mora thanks to you, decided to try on some fancy Liyue dresses, and Hilda's fashion choice combined with Liyue's style of clothing left Marianne a blushing, stuttering mess.

• Ferdinand was enthralled by Teyvat's many weapons. Even just the polearms had a variety of designs and it sparked his collector's flame, and when he heard some people had signature weapons unique to them, without being sacred artifacts or heirlooms, he wanted to explore all of Teyvat at that point just to see these weapons.

• Seteth, Flayn, and Rhea were interested in Liyue's religion and history, but not wanting a glorified children's tale they asked around and were led to Ganyu, who was surprised but thrilled that someone outside of Liyue's devoted was so interested in its history to the point of wanting the facts without the fluff.

• If you thought Shamir and Yelan would get along, you were wrong. They don't hate each other, but Yelan can't stand how blunt and work focused Shamir is. It's more of a one-sided thing as Shamir actually doesn't mind Yelan's "outgoing" attitude. (I had to close the game because I was not expecting this woman to whisper in my/Aether's ear during the last Lantern Rite event.) However, they both have mutual respect for each other's efficiency. Their interaction was brief, so they didn't really get to know each other.

• Dimitri, Edelgard, and Yuri wished not to offend any Liyue citizens and to not be cheated like the tourists they are, leading them to Yanfei, who was more than willing to teach someone about Liyue's laws and how to avoid scam artists.

• Claude wants to learn about Liyue's culture. Being the idealist that he is, he hopes it'll help him find a way to convince Almyra and Fodlan to stop fighting. This leads him to ask around, starting conversations with countless familiar faces.

• The two Byleths were keen to bring Sothis to a food stall, as the goddess has only recently attained a physical form thanks to being summoned. The two were met with a fist to the gut each after commenting on how cute she looked while eating.

• Arval, being in a similar position as Sothis, is also accompanied by the two Shez's. However, they seem more interested in physical activity like dancing or making their own lantern.

• Hubert, while keeping an eye on Edelgard from the shadows, was scared half to death when he realized he was being watched by a masked spearman. While their face was covered, he could feel a glare that threatened to pierce his entire being. Truly, none can escape the eye of The Vigilant Yaksha.

• Lorenz could be found trading poems with Xingqiu or Hu Tao.

• Jeritza was accompanying Mercedes and was practically being harassed by Tartaglia's requests to spar after hearing about him from Felix.

• The Traveler and Paimon met Constance and Hapi. They were kind of put off by Hapi's seemingly uncaring tone, but it was cute how her tone would shift when talking about her Coco. Constance was bosting about house Nuvelle as usual. When the two groups parted, Paimon couldn't help but comment on how familiar Constance's behavior was, but she couldn't explain why.

• Ingrid had lost sight of Sylvain, and when she found him, he was talking to Shenhe. Assuming the usual was taking place, she grabs Sylvain by the ear, apologizes, and drags him off, leaving Shenhe confused, as they were just talking about flowers.

• Monica is attached to Edelgard at the hip, constantly trying to get her to wear some accessories she thought would look nice on her.

• Bernadetta, still on the boat, decides to paint the harbor as the lanterns lit up the city enough for her to see it, and her window gave her the perfect view.

• Linhardt tried getting books from Wanwen bookhouse, but he couldn't tell fact from fiction, as in he couldn't read Teyvat's writing. Due to language not being a topic of interest for him, he gives up.

• Caspar and Ignatz had left the city. Caspar had too much energy to stay in the harbor, and Ignatz wanted to paint Liyue from a good angle. Both had a chance encounter with Kazuha, who complimented their respective qualities.

• Balthus had told everyone about Genius Invokation and suggested it to them as well

If someone is absent from this, it means I couldn't think of anything involving them. My knowledge of certain characters is limited( I had to dig for Lorenz's poetry bit. ). Also, I know Yelan isn't really like that, but I put that in because I thought it might get a chuckle out of some people.

Now that I've had time to gush over Brave Alfonse, I wanted to go over my thoughts for it. Personally, I have mixed feelings about Alfonse donning Gustav's armour. Under a cut because I ended up talking much more than I expected.

I'm not a fan of Gustav (as a father, at least). I've come up with my own headcanons of his characterization bc I really didn't like the way he treated Alfonse and Sharena in Book 3. Like, I get what IS was trying to go for, and while I can appreciate the nuances of Gustav's character, I can't like him as a person, so that kind of affects my personal feelings towards Brave Alfonse's design, but that isn't my main point.

My main point is: Alfonse isn't his father. Without a doubt, Alfonse looked up to Gustav as a king and expressed many doubts as to whether or not he could live up to his father's legacy. That being said, while Alfonse may hold respect for Gustav, a lot of their ideals/ beliefs often clashed with one another, and we can surmise that there was a lot of tension between them.

Gustav was very realistic and looked at the grander scheme of things, whereas Alfonse is more idealistic and had a narrower view of what he could/ wanted do to protect those he held dear. Maybe we can attest that to a lack of experience on Alfonse's part, and he has admitted himself to be lacking on that front more than once, agreeing with his father's words/ criticism towards his behaviour despite their differences.

But if there's one thing about Alfonse's characterization that remains consistent throughout and that he would disagree on with his father no matter what is that he is willing to rely on others (particularly the Summoner), whereas Gustav believes that they should only rely on themselves.

I find this integral because at the beginning, Alfonse held that same thought as Gustav and maintained his distance from others. This was one of Alfonse's key traits from Book 1. Over time, he eventually opened up his heart to others, and that faith of his in others/ the Summoner is what shaped him to what he is right now.

That's why I'm a bit upset that they went with the (unsurprising) route of putting Alfonse in Gustav's armour. Because it makes it feel as though Alfonse is only a shadow of his father rather than his own person.

I wouldn't have minded it if the outfit took inspiration from Gustav's armour, and I don't mind Alfonse wielding his father's axe at all, but the fact that everything is a 1:1 copy(?) of his father feels so... ehhhh. Like, I get it. I love the whole trope of children taking up after their parents; it's very heartwarming and sweet. I love that trope to hell and back, but in this case, it just feels so......... superficial? If that makes sense. Please let Alfonse be himself, idealistic as he is, and not have him try to prove himself by being the same as his father's legacy. While he might be more practical nowadays, doing what must be done, he still hasn't lost that sense of hope/ desire to protect everyone and make them happy. His idealism is what makes him who he is, and I wish his Brave outfit reflected that.

Q: Are Original Characters allowed?

A: Yes! Summoner OCs, Self Inserts, Fan Children, or other original characters are allowed to be included in your prompts — so long as the main focus is on Sharena as much as possible.

Q: Are specific headcanons/AUs/Canon divergences/etc allowed outside of Day 5: Change of Fate?

A: If you want to adhere to a specific AU or set of canon divergent headcanons throughout the whole week/vary through them each day, you're welcome to! As long as it still features the main Day's general prompt & it's Sharena-focused, there should be no issues.

Q: If I'm late/can't post a prompt the day of, can I still upload it later in the week?

A: Yes! As long as you tag your posts accordingly, there's no problem with uploading late, even out of the event's timeframe (though it'd be preferred for most of it to be posted during the specified week, we understand sometimes life happens, or you simply can't finish in time for whatever reason; we'll be sharing everything that's properly tagged to this account!)

Q: Will there be an AO3 Collection for any fics made for the week?

A: If people would like that, then yes! We'd create a collection a week or two before the event and share it here so you can submit your fics!

Q: What platforms/social media are allowed for posting of our works?

A: Pretty much anywhere! For the moment, Sharena Week only has social media presence here on Tumblr, Twitter/X (@ SharenaWeek), and Instagram (@ sharenaweek, though we'll admit I we're not sure how/if it's even possible for us to share your content there, as we aren't used to it — we'll still poke around and like posts at the very least!). As mentioned above, an AO3 collection will most probably be made a couple weeks before the Week, but we probably won't be on other fanfic websites (i.e. fanfiction, wattpad). If you make a post linking to your fic on the websites we do have presence on, however, we'll share it! If needed, we can even compile links to posts on other platforms for ease of access.

Q: Are creations outside of drawing, painting, and writing accepted?

Yes!!! Anything goes, as long as you made it — skill level doesn't matter, either. Sprite edits, music playlists, cosplay, collages, AMVs, vine/tiktok compilations... anything you can think of! That being said, AI work (artwork made with AI websites, fic written by programs like ChatGPT, etc) WON'T be accepted.

Q: What do I do if my post doesn't get reblogged/retweeted/shared by you guys?

A: We'll do our best to check the tags as often as possible during the event, but we might miss stuff, be it because it was posted as we took a break, or because Tumblr is held together with duct tape and hope. If we go a day or two or even more without interacting with your work, feel free to DM us a link to the post or @ us so we can share it!

sages one through five

so, like, what is eitri’s whole deal? a meta / headcanon post on seiðjarn & eitri.

To start to understand what I think is going on with Eitri physically, we have to understand the origins of seiðjarn and what it is. Heroes never credits one person as being the inventor seiðjarn, all things point to it (probably) being Eitri.

All of Eitri’s incarnations are primarily remembered and credited as being an inventor. Seiðjarn is a combination of magic and machinery, and Eitri is both a mage and an engineer. Though never explicitly said to be a mage of any pedigree, it is easy to discern that Eitri has a strong mastery over magic with her weapon type being a tome and the fact that seiðjarn research and engineering necessitates magical ability to understand and utilize. Her first incarnation was also one of the two founders of Niðavellir, where it was said that the First King used his craft (most likely some sort of rudimentary iteration of seiðjarn as we know it) to free the dvergar from Jötun rule. Her playing such a large part in the kingdom’s history point to her making some sort of contribution to its liberation, and with her background, it makes sense to credit the invention of seiðjarn to Eitri. 

Knowing this, we can now move on to the next question: what is seiðjarn? Anna in Chapter 1-1 of Book V defines it as “a systematic study and application of magic” and states that “only Niðavellir has had any success with its use.” What can be assumed to be the first seiðjárn inventions are weapons the First King used to liberate Niðavellir, and they are referenced as “his craft.” In Chapter 4-1 of Book V, the Order of Heroes comes to Eitri forest workshop for aid against Fáfnir. Sharena comments on the “contraptions” laid about the space, and deduces that what she sees before her must be the makings of seiðjárn. This evidence, along with what we know of Niðavellirian culture and history, allows us to define seiðjarn as machinery created in tandem with and/or powered by some hidden magical art that Eitri unlocked. 

Now, on Eitri herself: what is she? Her first incarnation, Alfrik, is obviously a dvergar — but what about the bodies that came after? I think she always chooses to reincarnate as a dvergar because of her undying loyalty to her country. She cannot see herself as anything else, and probably thinks other races of mortals are inferior to the genius and ambition of the dvergar.

In Book V, Chapter 13-5 Eitri reveals the truth of her identity to the Order of Heroes:

ALFONSE: The legends and myths across all the many worlds make mention of beings blessed with extremely long lives... Eitri, are you a dragon? EITRI: Ahahaha! No, no... Alas, I am still a mere mortal. More or less. I did manage to borrow some talents from a dragon, however... When my body ceases to live, I can transfer my essence to a new vessel, a new body. By doing so countless times, I have shaped Niðavellir and safeguarded it for many long years. In the castle... You know the murals and statues of all the great figures from the history of Niðavellir? Alfrik, Dvalinn, Billingr, Grer... All of them were me.

Eitri says she is “more or less” mortal and that she “borrowed” talents from a dragon in order to gain the power of living indefinitely by transferring her essence (her soul) into new vessels. Knowing Eitri’s true nature, I do not believe that whatever conspired between her and this dragon was some free exchange of ideas. I do not believe that divine, draconic secrets like immortality is haphazardly given to mortals — especially not obviously suspicious lunatics like Eitri. Given the shady way in which she says she learned this talent, I believe that Eitri tricked or manipulated the answer out of this dragon. I also believe that she killed said dragon afterwards to ensure that she would be the sole inheritor of said power, and that the dragon could never take revenge on her for her actions. This would be in line with behavior we see from her in Book V, where is readily prepared to dispose of things or people that inconvenience her in the slightest. 

In addition to believing that Eitri killed the dragon that taught her the secrets of reincarnation, I also believe she took the parts of this dragon to build new bodies for herself. My personal theory on how her reincarnation works is she, somehow, absorbed the essence of the dragon and mixed it with her own, so therefore the bodies she built using its parts are more receptive to accepting her vaguely draconic essence. Using the dragon’s body parts to build new bodies for herself also allowed her to make an enhanced organic form.

Speaking of Eitri’s personal enhancements, it isn’t implausible to assume that Eitri is some part machine: a bionic.

The strongest evidence for this idea is Eitri’s new skill learned quote which implies she is no stranger to experimenting on herself:

“A new power... Nothing could make me happier. Conducting tests on my own body is very convenient.”

Almost all examples of seiðjárn we have seen thus far have been militaristic technology, like the gullinbursti and the steam soldiers. Anna also states in Book V, Chapter 1-5 that the Niðavellirian mastery over seiðjárn is what allowed their conquest of surrounding lands to happen so quickly and to be so successful. This makes sense, as the invention of seiðjárn was in response to Jötun oppression and was used to give the dvergar a fighting chance against the giants. Additionally, since the development of seiðjárn evidently had to be kept secret in its infancy in order to not alert the Jötun to the planned dvergar uprising, I believe Eitri (then Alfrik) tested the first seiðjárn weapons on herself or willing volunteers involved with the liberation effort. Once the kingdom of Niðavellir was established, Eitri most likely saw the appeal of enhancing her mortal body with seiðjárn technology and continued to test new ideas and enhancements on herself. Eitri would like the idea as well, of being part machine, seeing it as a way to quell some of her organic shortcomings. 

As of right now, in he current TOA incarnation, Eitri has lost most of the bionic upgrades with the death of her previous body and currently works on developing even stronger enhancements to restore her bionics. Though it is a small setback, Eitri sees it as a way to use the knowledge she gains at Garreg Mach to advance her study of bionics even further. The abundance of different species residing at the monastery will advance her research quite nicely…
