A very good friend who is into porter robinson encouraged me to listen to some of their tracks. so i typed down what my thoughts are on each one as i did so. i do not claim to have a good judgement on how to analyze music. but i know what myself knows. mostly his album my friend considers his best, Worlds. with the mv/visualizers on youtube. 
divinity- nice hype beat to start off, before it gets mellow. then the mellow intensifies as vocals come in, and it results in a more triumphant tone. i'd say this is a sanguine track. it certainly feels uplifting.
  sad machine- an even more retro sound to start off. the official lyric video definitely makes the lyrics obvious. a duet between an electronic voice and a natural voice. is this outstretched hand motif a positive seeker, or a desperate grasp? depending on others is not the best. it is entitled sad machine, its not idealistic. but the final image of two hands holding eachother is presented positively.  
years of war- i like what seems to be screaming as a focal point of the track. these songs all have a drop, not as big grand moments like a stereotypical skrillex or whatever, these are good drops.
  flicker- i listen to a lot of japanese pop despite not studying japanese often. the visuals in its video are like AR. karl pilkington predicted that. also reminds me of serial experiments lain. i'll be rewatching that sometime. technology is taking over, even in the rural areas. there is a lot of corruption, and some danger. but it would make the world better if done well.
  fresh static snow- simple guitar strumming then shifting to the electro bzzts. quite a variety of bzzts and bzzps ya cant hate that. i understand now the image of the hand clenching a cube, thats definitely of the humanity holding Technology with care. the default cube of blender. another track with a triumphant tone.
  polygon dust- glitchy intro to a classic drum to nice who i suppose is lemaitre. soft headbangs to this. wanna say that this track does help continue the overall tone of the album, but yeah has not impressed me with new things. its not a pop radio style, but it is a spotify pop style. i can bet i have heard this as i let spotify play an edm, indie pop, etc playlist.
hear the bells- is this a duet throughout? dont usually hear that. almost a choir singing. like an orchestra in instrumentals midpoint. or a church organ when they let the piano guy go with full gusto. well church organ, orchestra, or electronic, you wont hear this on the radio. maybe electronic, depends.
  natural light- that very start reminded me of the menu theme of sonic mega collection. i thought of how it was a bunch of disconnected sounds before the yell breaks out and the different instruments come in. but it continues having that choopy style, with even the vocal being sliced. another moment of calm at the end. didnt notice it was a short 2 minutes. but i like it. moments of tranquility, but some moments of discord.  
lionhearted- ooh fleshy people on camera. and starts off high impact with the music, as this group of gentlefolk gear up with their own instruments. vandals, but for striking electronic visuals into the cityscape. they will make the technology connect to humanity no matter what. this track is named well, makes me want to be lionhearted.
  sea of voices- and after the impact of lionhearted, the windchimes bring the choleric back down to sanguine. then rises back up to somewhere in the middle. still calm but once again at a triumphant tone.
  fellow feeling- a violin start. its a rather lonely feeling. but shifts to a hot mood with vocals, a hard instrumentation. back to the violin. this is a good example of a journey. i appreciate the mix of classical, with electronic, with i suppose metal.
  goodbye to a world- mmhmm. end of a virtual world. ive been there. the reality i lived as a kid will not be able to be relieved at this moment, the internet is not the same. but its not the listener's fault. suprising runescape old and new are still kicking. though in the deep corners of my mind there should be ones im forgetting are gone. yeah. toontown, i think wizard101 is still on, pirate101 is, apparently, fusionfall.
it is a good album, this stuff does more than what most similar artists do that i’d hear just letting spotify autoplay.

THWACK - A Negan One Shot

Summary: a load of words slung haphazardly together to create a modern masterpiece. Written for @negans-lucille-tblr​ 6K Roll The Dice Challenge using the prompt “ I'm a slave to your games. I'm just a sucker for pain “.

The sound of the clock echos through your mind. It suffocates your thoughts as it reminds you of the monotonous grind of time. Every "tick" amplified through the dark. The space between each one extending for eternity as the silence between them crashes through you like unrelenting waves on a crumbling cliff face, slowly beating away at your resilience. The rest of the community sleeps blissfully as you lay there, your consciousness unwavering.
Tick.
You roll on to your side and open your eyes, staring blankly at the wall. The floral wallpaper, once pristine, now peels away slightly at the seems, unveiling the illusion of perfection, breaking the once perfect pattern.
The luxuries of the past have long been abandoned. What's the point in keeping the inside looking nice any more? Compared to the horror that lies in the world beyond the mildew covered window of The Sanctuary, the room you're in, even in this state, IS luxury these days. You only need to see a couple of Walkers have their heads smashed in to be cleansed of material desires and become satisfied with basic needs being met.
Another tick of the clock calls an end to the time you're willing to designate to falling asleep. You sit up and swing your legs over the side of the bed, exposing them to the chill of the air that your bed sheets were protecting you from.
You feel the layer of dust and dirt on the soles of your feet as they connect with the cold floor. You reach to grab your clothes from the chair next to the bed and pull them on, taking the time to dust the debris from your feet before donning your boots.
You open the door, trying to muffle it's creak by pulling it softly and slowly away from the latch before stepping out into the hallway. You would rather not wake anyone. People would get suspicious if they saw someone walking The Sanctuary grounds in the early hours of the morning.
You make your way along the corridor to the door that leads outside and gently push it open. The cool breeze from outside washes over you, almost through you, as it breaks into the corridor. You take a deep breath, feeling the air fill your lungs, calming you, if just for a moment.
The door comes to a stop with a soft thud, fully revealing the early morning landscape. The trees and buildings in the distance consumed by a mist that spills onto the roads towards you.
As you step out, gravel crunching underfoot, a glint catches your eye. You follow it to its origin, finally laying your eyes on the steel barb wire coiled tightly around a baseball bat, like a snake wrapped tightly around a branch. It's doing no harm where it is but anger it and it will bite! Lucille, resting by the man himself, Negan.
You wonder if you can back away, sink back into the darkness of the doorway but it's too late, even though he isn't facing you, you know he knows you're there.
He stands, leaning on a barrier, his folded arms resting along it supporting the weight of his upper body, leather jacket taught across is broad back. Lucille stands propped against the barrier beside him, perfectly inanimate yet still so menacing. It's like the bat had a presence all of it's own, bringing fear to many while being nothing more than a prop to the horrors of it's master.
You have wanted to be this close to Negan for such a long time but now, in his presence, you freeze. Just standing there taking him in, feeling your heart thump harder in your chest, adrenaline surging through you.
"You just gonna stand there pissin' your pants or are you gonna join me?" His deep voice startles you for a moment, you weren't expecting him to speak. You walk over and lean on the barrier next to him, staring out into the mist.
You sense him turn to look at you but you don't dare look back. Not yet.
"So... who are you?" He says in a gentle deep drawl.
"I am Negan", you respond, now turning your head to look him, traces of a smirk lining your lips.
He chuckles and looks back to the landscape. "Holy shit balls, we got ourselves a joker!"
You don't take your eyes from him, taking in his profile. It's not until you're up-close like this that you can see his imperfections, the lines starting to creep across his skin, breaking the perfect appearance, reminding you of that floral wallpaper.
"What the fuck are you doing awake at this time, Comedian?"
"Can't sleep", you respond.
"Huh. No fuckin' shit!" He pauses for a beat and you say nothing. "Me either."
"Why?" You pry and he lets out a sigh.
"Could you fuckin' sleep if you had to do the shit that I do? Smashin' dead fuckers' heads don't make my prick hard, Joker! Smashin' livin' fuckers', even less so but some fuck's got to protect and lead this community. They haunt me. Every one of the cunts marchin', around my fuckin' thoughts like they're on parade. That's why."
It's an honesty you weren't expecting from him. You had always been sold this fearless, unfazed persona yet here before you stood a man troubled by the actions of his past. Almost broken. For a moment you let yourself pity him.
"Does nothing ever help distract your mind? Help you sleep?" You ask.
"Fuckin' my wives! At least, it used to. But knowing their just fuckin' me out of fear has started to take the shine off the pussy, if you know what I mean? Shit! I wanna slip my cock down the throat of a fucker who wants it, not just because they feel obliged. Then I might have the release I need". His hand slips down and gently caresses the handle of Lucille as if unconsciously.
You're so close to getting what you have wanted for a long time and you know you can get it if you play your cards right.
"WANT ME TO GIVE THE OLD CODGER A DAVID BLOWIE?", you exclaim.
"Oooh err, yes please, if that's okay with you, like? If you like don't mind and stuff and that?" He says back in a melancholy tone not far from how a school boy might ask for his ball back when he kicked it into his neighbours garden.
"You want to?"
"WANT TO? I'D FUCKING LOVE TO!" you whisper. "GIMME THAT WONDER WURST!"
You drop to your knees. Ouch! You think. You should have gotten down gently. Why the fuck you decided to drop so hard no one fucking knows.
You undo his pants revealing his big, flaccid whopper. "It's flaccid." You say. "Yes" he replies.
You stick out your tongue and touch the head of his penis with it as though your testing an ice lolly to see how cold it is. THWACK! His instant erection ploughs into your chin, essentially upper cutting you, and knocks you over. His meat looks like a big fat sausage that's about to explode. And you like slap it and he looks at you like "uh okay, I s’pose" and then you slap it again because fuck it. And back in the face opening it goes. Plunger noise returns. And he maybe grabs your hair or maybe not, maybe if you're into that and you're not but maybe you are. And he is all like, "I'm going to do a cum" and you're like "pardon?" And he's like "I'm going to do a cum" and you're like, "sorry what?" And he's like "I'm going to..." and you stop sucking and are like, "I'm so sorry, I can't hear you over the racket". You hold it there until you feel it go slack in your grasp, until his eye's glaze over and then you pull out the knife you had plunged into his throat, his blood starting to gush over you. His body goes limp and falls to the floor with a thud. The vibration knocks Lucille from her perch and she falls across his slumped body. You wipe the blood from the knife on your shirt and place it back through your belt, behind your back. You had finally got what you had come for and you didn't care what it took to get it. You didn't fear the walking dead but you did fear what someone might do to you if they found you like this so you decide it best to head off. You step over Negan's lifeless body and start your walk home. After all, people will be waking up soon and it's a long walk back to Alexandria.
... oh yeah! You sing "I'm a slave to your games. I'm just a sucker for pain" as you walk off or something.

Interview with GHOST and TRIBULATION
The Undisguised Truth
TOBIAS FORGE and JONATHAN HULTÉN have a lot in common. While one of them currently slips into the role of the exalted charmer Cardinal Copia as the singer of GHOST, the introverted TRIBULATION guitarist on stage transforms into a fascinating, expressive being who exists beyond genre and gender boundaries. What is real, what is an artificial figure? METAL HAMMER met both of them during their tour together for a conversation that allows far more than just a look behind the scenes of two of the most popular metal bands at the moment, but also unexpectedly intimate insights.
Tobias, originally you didn't want to be the singer of Ghost. Did the mask help you to come to terms with this exposed role?
Tobias Forge: Yes, well, at least from today's point of view. But I never wanted to be unknown.
What function does your stage make-up have, Jonathan?
Jonathan Hultén: It helps me to put myself in a certain mood. The idea behind it is to isolate and reinforce a fraction of myself, an aspect of my personality. To immerse myself in this is an experience beyond the everyday state of mind.
Strengthen also Cardinal Copia or Papa Emeritus facets of your personality, Tobias?
Tobias Forge: I'm not shy, but I'm not as sociable as Cardinal Copia - and also not a "physical clown" like him. What I do is a kind of mixed bag. I imitate people I find funny or interesting.
Basically, the way actors do it. If you asked Robert DeNiro how he came up with the young Don Corieone, he would probably say: Well, there was this guy in my old neighborhood... The costume gives you the opportunity to completely surrender yourself in that moment and just be that new person. That's interesting, because you only reveal it to a few people for a limited time. You don't have to see how that person lives the other 22 hours of the day. Like with actors: James Bond is cool because you only see certain sides of him. Never in the bathroom or shower. Well, not in the toilet, in the shower. But always in the company of a snake or something he kills.
How long does the transformation take?
Tobias Forge: But you finished much sooner than I did.
Jonathan Hultén: For pragmatic reasons. I like to get it done as soon as possible so as not to get in a bind later. How about you?
Tobias Forge: We have a very tight schedule. Pretty much exactly one hour before the show starts I walk in the door as Tobias and come out as someone else.
What does this transformation do to you?
Jonathan Hultén: You have to enter a stage with emphasis. So it's good to be prepared.
Tobias Forge: And that's what happens within this hour. You slowly start to move differently... I love being a different person for two hours and then changing back. But I need some time for that, usually I stay alone for an hour after the show.
Jonathan Hultén: That's good. As far as I can, I try to do the same. Mostly by doing something that I can be introspective about... ...carry things back and forth or something.
Tobias Forge: I think that's very important. There is potential suffering in art, especially in mental health. The smaller the discrepancy between yourself and the person you are portraying on stage, the harder it is to deal with. If you are merely associated with your stage character, people expect you to behave like that in real life.
And that can be problematic...
Tobias Forge: Exactly, because they created this super human being who can do anything, who has a carte blanche. Everyone applauds, everyone laughs, and everything you do is funny or cool. And if you take it to the bar afterwards... There are bad examples of people who can't get down in normal life, become alcoholics or, well, die.
Jonathan Hultén: Sure, all that can be destructive. But in my case it was very helpful to discover my more explosive, extroverted sides. And to dare to give them more space, because privately I am quite shy. That's also part of the process of building up, which takes a long time.
I gradually gain self-confidence from this, so that I can now express myself better in everyday situations.
Tobias Forge: I think they are one and the same. It's like mental martial arts, where the person who doesn't like the fight, but still has to face it - within the limits of the dojo, of course, so as not to hurt anyone. And, yes, art is basically good for anyone who has the desire to become someone else. It's a generalization, but I think there's a lot of truth in it: many artists choose this path because they weren't very popular at school. Or they can't come out of themselves, but their art offers them an opportunity to do so. It's fun to go on stage, to transform and feed off the energy or admiration.
How you interact with the audience has changed over the years.
Tobias Forge: Sure. The masked person has an advantage of about 70 concerts, so 1,000 hours on stage. If I had given myself the same amount of time to develop without the make-up, without the role, just with acoustic guitar, I might have created a completely different stage personality. But this is completely uninteresting for me, because I prefer this super character! (laughs)
Jonathan Hultén: transformation would then no longer be so dramatic, but much more subtle.
Tobias Forge: And you'd have to be comfortable in your own skin.
Jonathan Hultén: I'm working on it. (laughs)
Jonathan, your solo debut, CHANTS FROM ANOTHER PLACE, will be released soon and you will also be touring with Chelsea Wolfe. Will you be different on stage there than you are here with Tribulation?
Jonathan Hultén: It has become harder to separate the two. They are like different shades of the same color. And I've found that they both borrow a lot from each other. The tribulation performer exists much longer, so he has much more experience. He/she is like an archaeologist who explores an inner wildness and passion. Over the years a lot of weird stuff has been dug up and included.
On the other hand, the solo performer, who has only been around for about three yen and is still is at the beginning of the excavations. However, I expect that also here many interesting things will appear
What can we expect from you live?
Jonathan Hultén: Just like with Tribulation, the atmosphere will be very important. But apart from some dramatic excursions, the show will be mostly silent and contemplative. The silence gives more room for more complex emotions to unfold in a way that I miss in the energetic performances of Tribulation.
These in turn defy the unwritten rules of a traditional metal show, not least thanks to you. Tribulation are considered a death metal band...
Tobias Forge: I wouldn’t call you guys like that.
Do you see yourselves as pioneers? Do you enjoy being different?
Jonathan Hultén: I stopped thinking about whether people see me as stupid, weird or whatever. It's the only way I can do it. Headbanging just wasn't enough. I felt there had to be something bigger, some kind of ectase. This may be weird, but it feels good.
How important are grace and style to you?
Jonathan Hultén: Both are important, but it's equally important not to be obsessively attached to them. Someone once said that grace is a combination of spontaneity and control. It's a good rule of thumb - on and off stage. It's always about balance. Every situation is unique and requires a unique approach.
Tobias Forge: You should be really proud of it, apart from the fact that your music is great. Your performance is dramatically different from any other. Besides the music, your physical attributes and the way you present yourself make you a very unique and interesting person. Strange, cash, different. You should definitely pursue that. Yes, I think you should see yourself as a pioneer.
Jonathan Hultén: Mm, thank you. (chuckles)
What does that do to your audience?
Tobias Forge: If you are a live musician, have an antenna for it and you don't completely care, you always enter a symbiosis with the fans. Give and take, almost like in a physical relationship. You will try to perfect ways to give pleasure to each other. I know it sounds weird, but every decent relationship changes with age. You grow together, you have new needs or ideas. That's why some couples bring in other people, or whips or plugs. It's the same with you and the audience. During our second show I noticed that our audience is very positive, but I couldn't make a rhyme out of it.
Why that?
Tobias Forge: The room was filled with Hard Rock people, the kind of people I've been playing to since I was a teenager. But they weren't headbanging as usual. Instead they did something else.
Jonathan Hultén: Wiggle.
Tobias Forge:  Yeah, they were wiggling around. (laughs) And singing and laughing, very different from what I knew from Death or Black Metal shows.
Are there any other special features of your fans?
Tobias Forge: When we played the first headliner shows in America, I noticed for the first time the gender diversity in our audience. Our fans are a lot of girls, a lot of guys, and a lot in between. We've always been a magnet for people who are unhappy with their gender or don't feel they belong anywhere: Kids, many outsiders and outcasts in various fragile states.
Jonathan, Tobias' words seem to resonate with you.
Jonathan Hultén: Yes, they do. I don't speak for tribulation as a whole when I say this, but I personally don't feel I belong to either gender. But I've never felt the need to choose either. Androgyny is what I feel most comfortable with. This tendency probably also applies to performance, whether tribulation or solo.
Tobias Forge: The best portrayal of the devil I've ever seen is from the movie 'The Passion of Christ'. Satan is portrayed by a woman, but speaks in a man's voice and thus becomes the epitome of androgyny, completely genderless. For incorporating this aspect into your stage personality, I give credit to you and the band. Especially when you get together with Adam (Zaars, guitarist of Tribulation) on stage, it seems elfish and feminine, but also masculine. This is incredibly interesting and unusual, especially in the rigid heavy metal genre with this "men are men" and "women are women" thing: Doro Pesch, girl, Manowar, guys, great. But when I think of all the metal bands I like, there are also examples of very attractive androgyny, which is not necessarily sexual. Not to mention seventies rock bands.
You have been confronted with different kinds of music and art forms from a very young age. Does that give you an artistic advantage?
Jonathan Hultén: It helps me to keep my relationship to art fresh, to get excited. Whether in childhood or in adulthood: open-mindedness helps the creative process. If you're not afraid of opening up to all kinds of different music styles, you can find inspiration in the most surprising places. No matter where the idea comes from - the important thing is whether it works. Certainly, this is reflected in all areas of creative work. Become the medium through which the flow of inspiration flows - then collect the gold pieces that this flow carries with it and create something beautiful out of them.
Does the metal context limit your expressiveness?
Tobias Forge: I don' t feel restricted with Ghost at all. There are only a few ideas I can' t realize with the band, because Ghost is a combination of all the things I like about music, cinema and theatre. But if there is enough time in the future, I would love to be in a completely different band where I am not the center of attention. I am a guitarist and would like to sing backup. That corresponds to me much more.
Jonathan Hultén: I'm exploring something new, and it's been quite interesting - and different. There are endless possibilities to discover yourself, artistically and as an artist. Only unfortunately there is not enough time.
I'm afraid that we don't have enough time either.
Tobias Forge: Yes, but these things are existential. They are not only about art and being an artist, but also about how both are connected to the human psyche and why people, artist or not, need art to function in modern times. That, by the way, is also one of the things I appreciate about tribulation: You are artists, not just any death metal band. I don’t want to hang anybody on the fence but especially in metal many musicians claim that they make music for themselves first and foremost. That’s not true! As soon as you go on stage you want to get something back. Even GG Allin! And his gigs were really a confrontational and bad experience for every lover of the fine arts. Playing just for yourself? That's not how it works. You either do it to please or to deliver something. People laugh, cry, clap, scream, whatever... And when they leave, they feel a little bit better. That's entertainment!

The Misery Men Invite Us to Dirge with the “Tardigrades”

I've always said that the test of an "authentic" doom composition is how well it identifies with what you're feeling. Coming off a 13-day battle with COVID-19, my mental outlook has been pretty dim but when I decided to audit the new single by THE MISERY MEN it was just what the proverbial doctor ordered. The Portland outfit has become a super group of sorts, featuring Corey G. Lewis (vocals, guitar), Rob Wrong (lead guitar), Billy Anderson (bass), and Ian Caton (drums) -- you'll of course recognize Rob Wrong from Witch Mountain and Billy Anderson from his engineering efforts on so many great records, including Sleep's Dopesmoker.
Now I sit here slowly headbanging to a vibe that seems to get where I am and say, "Life can be pretty shit, brother. Let's groove to this jam." And groove "Tardigrades" does. Frontman Corey G. Lewis can't help himself. Ever since I've known him and Misery Men, the band has had this underlying grooviness and penchant for simple melodic motifs that make every song distinct from the mass of sameness in the doom scene.
He was surely inspired, in this case, by the strange world of the micro-creature for which the song is titled. Tardigrades have been spotted far and wide in every conceivable environmental condition and location. These buggers can survive anything, and I do mean extreme conditions. Fuck yes, water bears (as they're bemusingly nicknamed) rule this doomed planet.
If you like this song, take a moment to get acquainted with the breadth of The Misery Men's output (including the recent single "Iron Front"). In addition to giving you a first-listen to "Tardigrades," Doomed & Stoned is also debuting the accompanying music video, which gives further insight into the song's lyrical thrust. I started writing Devillusion at the beginning of the Pandemic. 16 months of bloodletting 5 songs and 3 covers later we have an album. It was a therapeutic writing process to say the least. Inspired by the “Grunge” influencers in the PNW like Napalm Beach, Dead Moon, The Wipers, that definitely impacted TAD, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Screaming Trees, Soundgarden, etc. I wanted to pay homage to the folks who laid the foundation and paved the path that we walk down. I’m humbled and grateful daily that I have found a vortex that aligns with my frequencies to allow me through great collaboration to tap into the ether, transmutating a Rock n’ Roll album I feel proud to be a part of and co-produce with Rob Wrong. We all had a good time making this album. It’s been challenging but ever rewarding.
I had asked Chris Newman to collaborate on something, maybe lay down a solo or harmonize on a song or write something together, and at first he was very interested and excited once he recovered from surgery. Unfortunately his health took a turn for the worse and Chris passed May 5th 2021. So Rob and I decided we needed to honor him and record a couple songs. We contacted Sam Henry (Napalm Beach, The Wipers, Jenny Don’t and the Spurs) to play drums and it just made sense to have Kelly Halliburton (Dead Moon, Pierced Arrows, Jenny Don’t and the Spurs) to play bass. We also recruited Jeffrey Larson (Lucky 13’s, Misfortunes of Mr Teal) to play rhythm guitar along with Rob Wrong on lead, plus me just on vocals. We recorded Cat With Nine Lives by Napalm Beach and The Reaper by Snow Bud and the Flower People. Both songs were Chris Newman songs, that turned out pretty damn good! Hell we didn’t even practice together before we recorded.
Devillusion by The Misery Men
Again I recruited Billy Anderson to play bass again on this album, because beyond his ability of musicianship and his legendary “enginear” status he’s also a pleasure to be around. Hilarious, kind, and smarter than your average Neanderthal bassist. Ha! He also studied anthropology so he knows a thing or two about humans. Not to mention he played Baseball growing up, so I figured he must really know what he’s doing with basses. Oh and he’s the master of Pun!
Once again Ian Caton of Breath is playing drums on this album. Talk about a Beast Of Burden, what an absolute animal! He usually doesn’t have a problem playing any style or tempo and is able to tap into the ether with ease!
Of course, Rob Wrong once again delivers some of the best solos he’s ever played. Not only that but he doubled the rhythm to give this album the full collective collaboration. I’m humbled to work with him and call him a best friend. It’s been a ton of fun making two albums with him at Wrong Way Recording.
Again I got Ben House to make some incredible artwork! It’s beyond expectations and couldn’t have been happier with the results!
Devillusion was also mastered by TAD, not to mention inspired by him as well. I originally wanted to call the album Devil’s Balls, but after watching the TAD documentary and the scene where he showed his mom the album and she said something like, “Tad you’re smiling…Tad God’s Balls? But Tad you have such a great smile.” Nevertheless, we have a song called Devil’s Balls and Werewolf that we’re most definitely influenced by some Tad. THOMAS: In the newest game, you play as Yuki Yamamoto, bi-gender dumbass who is in love with this guy named Kenneth Miller- but someone else is in love with Kenneth and that someone kidnaps you and locks you in her cabin out in the middle of the woods with like three- shit- three other characters and you have to escape before she catches you! I don’t know the full story since the game just- ah SHIT- came out, but it’s my favorite game franchise.
THOMAS: It’s the first game they’ve released with an LGBT+ protagonist, and the youtubers and game reviewers who- SHITBALLS- got it pre-release said it was really inclusive and awesome! Sadly... I will not be able to purchase it though :(

She wanted to be a classic human paladin and I was a cool homebrew faun bard. She- shitfuckass- and I went out for a bit until she came out, then we kinda just went our separate ways since I’m gay. Although, we’re- COCK!- definitely still friends.

THOMAS: I met Kenny through Kyle. He uh.... He introduced me to Kenny when I invited him and his family over for Hanukkah back in the fifth grade. He’d brought Kenny and Kenny’s siblings along with his family since Kenny had been spending the holidays with- shit- them that year due to some issues back home. 
THOMAS: ... Kenny’s the whole reason I actually came out to my mom if I’m being completely honest. He’s awesome.

A love letter to The Wombats
First, a brief background about The Wombats: The Wombats is an interesting English Indie Rock Band. They started back in 2003 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. The most interesting thing about them is how experimental they are with their albums — considering their vast range. One might think that The Wombats don’t care about what you and I think. They care about their art and what that represents. This is what makes them free to do whatever they want. Now, the album that I want to talk about is some of their earlier work. It was released back in 2007. Damn, that feels like an eternity ago. So let’s begin our journey.
The first track: Tales of Girls, Boys and Marsupials. For me, this track prepares you for what’s to come. It is a good melody and relatively simple. I’ve always enjoyed it because of how strange it is. From this, we move onto the second track.
Kill the Director. This is the song that brought me to the album, and for a long time, it was one of the most played songs for me on Spotify. When I think of this song, I think of the music video which you should watch. The song is different from the first track, and it is faster and has a lot of content. My favourite things are British pop culture references. The nods to Bridget Jones’s Diary and EastEnders make this a quintessentially British song.
Track 3: Moving to New York, this song has always been close to my heart because it is edgy. It tells us what the British think of American cities like New York. I have always had trouble understanding this song due to multiple reasons. Even right now while I’m reading the lyrics and thinking about what to write about them, I am confused. If you look at it literally, the song talks about sleeplessness and Christmas for some reason. Now, let me tell you what I feel about it. This has always been a song to which I headbang and do the air guitar. I never really understood the lyrics. I probably never will. Though, my favourite part has been these lines.
“I put one foot forward and ended up 30 yards back.
Am I losing touch, or am I just completely off the track?
And I don’t know why I want to voice this out loud.
It’s therapeutic somehow.”
Especially the line, “Am I losing touch or am I just completely off track”. Back when I first heard this song, the pandemic was at its peak. I was preparing for entrances, and life was a mess. I related to this, and I’m sure you guys will as well. This song will make you feel things and reconsider life as a whole.
Now, moving onto track 4, Lost in the Post. This is the most popular song on the album. The song sounds surprisingly happy, but when you pay attention, the lyrics are depressing. It is my kind of music because it tells us a story with a catchy chorus. The line that has stuck with me is “She Wanted Mary Poppins but I took her to King Lear”. It represents so much more than you and I can comprehend. It represents not being enough and a theme of overcompensation followed by under-compensation. Its a simple song but the Wombats have done a good job of packing it with references. It is a song about insecurities and love, the two things that are fundamental to any artist.
Track 5: Party in a Forest(Where’s Laura?). Laura, oh, Laura. I will never truly understand this song. Is it a love letter to Laura or is it a desperate man singing for a girl who will never love him back? Throughout the song, he keeps calling out to Laura, but there’s no response. By the end of it, it seems like he has almost given up. Maybe I’m just reading too much into music, or perhaps this boy is writing songs about a gender he doesn’t understand.
Track 6 is something most of us can relate to. Titled “Schools Uniform”, it is literally from the perspective of a teenage boy going through puberty. It is not the typical “Oh. I miss school” song, but maybe a more realistic approach to what school was. Those uniforms, which most of us claim to miss, perhaps made a joke of us. He sings about a girl he likes and who he used to be friends with, but now she has an older boyfriend. The most important thing about this song is how teens romanticise/think that smoking is cool. It’s the whole trope of doing something because someone else is doing it. After all, someone has deemed it cool. The song does an excellent job of talking about how teenagers try their best to fit in to get the validation they so desperately want. This is generally executed by doing things that most of the time is not good for them, and here ends track 6.
Moving on to track 7, the song I’m most excited to write about. Here Comes the Anxiety is the epitome of a cry for help. It is probably the most painful to listen to because it doesn’t even hide that it is sad. I have to give it credit for being honest about its message. In a messed up way, this taught me how to be honest about myself. The song starts by calling out what I think is all music where creators hide the real message behind catchy hooks and other techniques. The essence of the song is hypocritical; it has a catchy hook line(It is literally in the title). The song is just lying to you; it tries to sell an honest image, but it is not. Don’t get me wrong, it is a good song, but it is just like everything else. It is a dark song like it claims to be. It is a song about a lonely man who doesn’t want to be alone, and that’s about it for track 7.
Let’s Dance to Joy Division is one of my favourite songs. So, I have a sort of personal bias towards it. It is happy and real but also quite sad. The lines
“Everything is going wrong but we’re so happy” perfectly captures the essence of this kind of music. It is happy music, so don’t question it. You don’t need to be comfortable while listening to it, maybe sing along and pretend that your life isn’t going to shit. My interpretation of this song is, you shouldn’t question life while it is happening. If something has to go wrong, it probably will, so why even worry about it. Just be happy and maybe play this on a loop.
Track 9 is Backfire at the Disco. It describes a heterosexual first date. A guy gets ready at 8 pm, meets the girl and then gets slapped. The story is pretty straightforward. The guy makes a move at the wrong time. The girl slaps him in response and has to go back home alone at 3 am. What’s important to me isn’t the story but how it’s told. The song starts with how everything is fine and how it is all going okay. It sounds like the girl is in the wrong and that we should feel bad for the guy. The song gets pretty misogynistic when he calls her dress whorish. To give him some credit, he does admit his mistake by the end, but then it is too late, and the narrative has been set. This victimisation of the perpetrator is extremely harmful. It creates a story that men don’t know what to do and how it is an honest mistake. This message is toxic, and anyone listening to this should keep this in mind.
Little Miss Pipedream describes a toxic one-sided relationship. The song is comparatively slower-paced, where the stress is on the lyrics. The song expects us to feel sympathy for this man who is madly in love with this girl. The protagonist is portrayed as a friendly guy who is willing to wait for this girl. This man has selfish ideas of love, and he’s trying to convince the listeners to sympathise with him. These ideas are selfish because they are all based around him. Lyrics like, “Don’t leave miss pipedream cause I love you.” is an example of what is incorrect with this song. Pop culture has often romanticised these ideas and portrayed these men as heroes.
Track 11 is about a therapist named Dr Susan. It is clear that Dr Susan is treating and is prescribing him narcotics. He is infatuated with her and is willing to do anything for her. This is clearly some toxic behaviour. The singer keeps repeating “This Time” which means that he has done this before. The most concerning thing is “Help Me Help Help Me, Susan”. We can see a theme where he asks for help but no one gives it to him and there ends track 11.
Track 12 is about loving a woman who doesn’t want to be loved. The singer has fallen in love with a stripper and is willing to do anything to be with her. His behaviour indicates that he has lost track of reality. In his head, his actions are part of a grander love story but it is psychotic behaviour. This is ironic cause the last song was about a therapist. He clearly knows what he is doing is wrong but he still continues to do so. This entire song does a good job of showing a messed up, toxic relationship between a desperate man and a stripper.
The story of Track 13 is set at the wedding of the protagonist’s ex-girlfriend. It does something unusual by portraying alcoholic tendencies at a wedding. The lyrics make it clear that he still has some feelings for his ex-girlfriend. I don’t know where the blame lies on this one because of the conflicting narratives. The repetition of the line, “She’s not that beautiful” shows us his hatred towards the bride and how our emotions are more complex than they seem. One would assume that after all this time he wouldn’t resent his old partner but he does. This is because humans are complicated and irrational and there’s nothing we can do about it. This also shows how when we are with someone everything seems romantic but when they leave we criticise all their actions. To conclude, the song is quite entertaining and definitely worth listening to.
If you have read this until now and not skimmed as most people will, you must be thinking that all these songs sound somewhat similar. It’s a simple boy loves girl plot which is portrayed in multiple different settings. Before I started writing this, I thought that I would have something unique to write about each song, but I don’t. As I moved on from track to track, I realised that most of these are about the same thing. Does this mean the songs are not great? No, of course not, they are amazing. Each track is unique and has a storyline, the music is good, and that’s why people enjoy it. Music is subjective, and at the end of the day, my opinion means jackshit. Yeah, enjoy the music; I hope what I wrote made you think and introspect about the music you listen to.

This is a combo of thoughts on music, lyrics and other random things I wrote while listening. Not every song will be featured, sorry.

So this part will be a bit different because mental health and The Band became really prominent themes in their music in a way it wasn’t really before, so rather than simply writing about songs as they come, I do (attempt to) connect some dots between songs and albums

So I listened to Division according to the limited edition version where the songs got split into the ‘story-like songs’ and the ‘hype songs’. Just while we’re on that, I like to think that Vein is the story part because these songs (the blood) are meant to go TO our hearts, while Artery, which is the ‘raw emotion’, is the heart doing the talking and supplying the oxygen that will do its thing. LIKE HEADBANGING.
“Ibitsu is not the first song they’ve written about changes in the music industry, but it’s quite different from others like 13Stairs[-]1 and Dim Scene. They were quite angry about the state of things, lamenting it. But here, Ruki is writing his and the band’s place in all of that. It’s like in the other two songs he’s like, “wow look at all this rubble. This sucks.” But in Ibitsu he’s writing about how he’s also in that rubble and thinks about what HE feels about it in relation to himself and the GazettE. And I find that quite interesting. Also hell YES imagery – skies as ideals, the world around them collapsing into ruin, the band as a flower amidst the rubble that can’t reach the sky. It sounds like he’s trying to navigate how he’s supposed to move forward when his ideals and what’s happening in the industry oppose each other quite a lot. He doesn’t reach an answer in this song and ends by asking whether it is actually in ruins or whether he’s just afraid of change, I think.” - interestingly, he uses this same imagery in Kuroku Sunda Sora to Zangai to Katahane to write about anxiety and not feeling good enough.
Quick disclaimer on KAGEFUMI: I do want to say first that I’m talking about this purely as a piece of art. Not as in, like, “this is peak romance”, but just as an artwork I can have Opinions™ about, even if they’re possibly in disagreement with that of the creator. “The shadow tag metaphor for a couple committing double suicide meaning that they’re ‘becoming one’ and being together in death is A Lot. There’s an incredibly strong belief in an afterlife where they can be together makes (what Ruki describes) this stronger bond between them that literally lasts or even transcends the boundaries between life and death, rather than a tragic end (unlike Tokyo Shinjuu). Musically, I love this song and think it’s gorgeous, the way it’s sad yet hopeful. We over here with that bittersweet stuff again but lyrically it’s a WILDLY different route than others before it.”
“Yoin is such a heavy end to disc 1. The ending lines, “The sea of loss / Understanding of helplessness / That day we grieved” about the Tohoku earthquake/tsunami and the nuclear disaster is just so ……. And not only that, but how even though people still struggle to survive, people are moving on like it’s a thing of the past. It’s SO heavy.” (Cr: Defective Tragedy)
“I think [Derangement] is about a massive internal struggle between wanting longing for the past, knowing it won’t come back, but also wanting to destroy the past out of self-hatred. There are aspects of the past, perhaps ambition and drive for example, that are good, but other parts that are not. It’s almost like a continuation of Remember the Urge but like…angrier and with more hatred towards his own past rather than only the longing of it. Which is also really interesting.” – this is definitely one of the themes that comes up A LOT from now, ESPECIALLY in Ninth. We’ll get to that.
“IS KAI GOOD??? That man is NOT human. I swear to god his drums in Required Malfunction are INSANE. ANYWAY, this song is about how people cannot be perfect and we all have flaws, especially in the context of relationships. I like that even though people argue and butt heads sometimes, there’s that Japanese verse where he sings “Let’s send a song without stains / to that innocence without lies / so you can swallow those wounds” and the last lines “Because you are always here, I can advance” to mean like…them being together can ultimately make them better and it can be a good relationship (if they work on it, imo). Also, I love the language he uses here – viruses and malfunctions and inputs – a very non-human way to write about human relationships.” (Cr: Trauma Radio)
(Dripping Insanity) “Solitude drenched in red laughs / in the insanity dripping in silence” is SUCH a good line yes hello I appreciate this. (Cr: Heresiarchy)
“EYYY HAVEN’T HEARD FORBIDDEN BEAVER IN FOREVER. At first I was wondering if this might be judgmental but honestly? I think this is satirical, especially from the line “May the truth you spew on taboos going frantically around / Shred the rhythm of high society”. Like the fact they’re gossiping about a famous woman who has a lot of sex and just TARNISHING her name bc of it, to Ruki, is a load of bullshit. Also, some of the lyrics in the chorus are funny coming from Ruki – “She has a sex addiction / Bang! Bang! / Cute luv machine” – like he does NOT ever write like this and this song is just a huge satirical joke I’m YELLING.” (Cr: Heresiarchy)

“The transition from Malformed Box to Inside Beast >>>>”
“[Inside Beast] is definitely about having a ‘beast’ inside you that’s like all your demons and ugly feelings and to let them all out. He wrote about demons in Derangement, but the way he writes about acceptance is like…empowering and freeing. Not necessarily through words but through the music and just how hard this song slaps.”
“I really love the lyrics of [Until it Burns Out] and its whole thing about valuing the time they have as a band and to be together making music precisely because it’s going to end someday, and it’s going to be their last shot at living their dreams, which is to make music and perform TOGETHER as the GazettE. Like that’s so meaningful, and powerful in the way they just…grab it by the fucking throat. Breaking down the walls that hold them back, TOGETHER, towards the future in which they see their dreams. Like they’re not letting this be the end. They won’t allow it. UGH. UGHHH. The middle eight is so beautiful and I love the lines “The light that colours this irreplaceable scenery / burns the significance of standing here into me / Until the last” like they just love performing SO MUCH UGGGHHH FEELINGS”. “[REDO] IS SO GODDAMN SENTIMENTAL I’M IN MY FEELINGSSSSS. Kai being the composer, I can’t help but feel this is him paying homage to jazz, which is the music his mother plays and he loves her so so much. I’m probably reaching but THAT’S JUST HOW I FEEL.”
“EVERBODY SHUT UPPPP IT’S LAST HEAVEN TIMEEEE. It’s so gd gorgeous and sweet. I’M GETTING REALLY EMO WHAT THE FUCKKKK. BRUH. BRUUUUHHH. THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL //THROWS. SHUT UPPPP. TOO MANY SKY, STAR AND FOREVER REFERENCES FOR THIS TO BE OKAY BITCH. This is Ruki’s love song to the cosmos, wishing to be eternal like the stars but acknowledging that all he can do is chase it knowing his life will end, BUT THAT THEY DON’T HAVE TO GRIEVE BECAUSE THEY WILL MEET AGAIN IN THE AFTERLIFE BECAUSE IN SOME WAY WE /ARE/ ETERNAL. IT’S LOVING AND INNOCENT AND WISTFUL. This song is the goddess to all the GazettE love songs. THANKS FOR COMING TO MY TED TALK. “The distant sky, this infinite moment / I now wish from the visible stars / in this youthful merry-go-round / that continues to turn endlessly / I want to be eternal like you” – is just…such a beautiful image. “Let’s stay like this, having dreams we cannot reach / Long road which leads to the calm hill / I go, leaving my sadness behind / Good night…my beloved / Last heaven of mine” – it’s yearning but it’s the yearning for LIFE. And to leave behind sadness…Ruki very rarely writes about pain like this. And to call the ‘beloved’ his last heaven, the last thing in his life that’s just THE BEST THING THAT’S EVER HAPPENED TO HIM AND THE THING HE WANTS TO BE ETERNAL WITH goodbye………GOODBYE. “Love without shape changing day by day / Close together / we become / one shooting star” – AAAHHH AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH. Also, for him to say ‘memento mori’ which means “Remember, you must die” in the middle eight of a song about wanting to be eternal just gives the entire sentiment a new meaning ;-;” (Cr: Trauma Radio)

“There’s a particular sound to Division and Beautiful Deformity (but more in BD). It sounds like rushing water. Loss in particular sounds like this. Like, the sound isn’t just ‘dark’ and ‘heavy’, it moves A LOT and there is sooo much emotionality in the songs on this album. It’s really dynamic.”
“The Stupid Tiny Insect revisits the theme of inner demons. Specifically, in this song it sounds like negative internal self-talk. It’s interesting though, the way that Ruki writes it as an entirely separate being to how he writes inner demons and whatnot in other songs, where it’s either another entity within a person that is part of them OR just…themselves. Here, they are VERY separate, and that probably allows him to feel and express rage instead of helplessness or confusion. I also love the reference to pretending to be okay – “I get high on delusion / And act as if I made them die out / ‘Just like a summer moth to a flame”.” (Cr: Heresiarchy)
“IN BLOSSOM is pretty fucking brilliant lyrically imo. It reminds me a lot of 32 Koukei no Pistol in that a protagonist who was abused/neglected by the parents kills them, and in the latter’s case only, also themselves. Some other differences: In Blossom is WAY angrier (and a lot more loaded) and the protagonist is trying to ‘make their own life’ (even if the way they choose to do that DOESN’T WORK), whereas the narrator in 32 Calibre Pistol was mostly lamenting that they’ve ‘lost their way’ and deep-down were wishing for their family to be happy together. I can’t say WHY that is. But it’s interesting that in In Blossom, the abuse just…DESTROYED their concept of family that they used to believe in entirely, and the fact they cannot separate themselves from their abusers neither by dying nor killing them is A Lot. So, they try to free themselves and ‘get hope’ by killing their abusers as revenge (“Die away, along with these wounds I’d counted”), but it doesn’t bring them happiness or heal them (“Even if I slash so much it’s unparalleled by the wounds I’d counted, it still starts to ache / It doesn’t even fight off the decay, much less heal me”). It’s very much saying that despite pain, revenge is not the answer. I also love the line “They adorn vividly – have blossomed beautifully / The sun that has started to set makes sure of it” to describe the wounds as the narrator kills their abusers and their loss of sanity as they do so.” (Cr: Heresiarchy)
“To Dazzling Darkness is about that moment when a concert is over and the lights start to come on. It’s so gorgeous. This is sort of like, the other side of Until it Burns Out. If UIBO is about the band then TDD is about the fans, and the band’s place in the world. I love the imagery in the first verse – darkness is usually associated with bad things, but here darkness is peace, escapism and unity that are part of the happiness of a concert, while the light symbolises the continuation of life. The scenery here is the same scenery in UIBO, which is the scenery of a concert that this band cherishes. There’s also the acknowledgement that time is fleeting and nothing is forever. Like, this is really the other side of the coin and I love it.”

“Dogma defines their new (2015) sound so well, which is HEAVY AND DIRTY AS FUCK. Like, it is SO conceptual and experimental and the painting is just GORGEOUS. I love the harpsichord in this song – as the predecessor of the piano, it was used in a lot of churches and religious music in the Baroque period (1600-1750ish), so using it here in a song where the band is likened to idols (the religious type) is super cool. And to combine it with these really low and heavy guitars just gives the DARKEST image.
And there’s so much going on in the lyrics – MANY MOTIFS, MANY MEANINGS. They bring back the concept of darkness as a symbol for escape from harsh life and of unity during concerts. As for death, Reita has an iconic quote where he said something along the lines of: “we often say in lives ‘to die’, but what we actually mean is to live. Live and be free”. I see death for GazettE as a kind of transformation – and end, yet also a beginning to become something or someone new.
Ruki hasn’t really mentioned god since Ogre in Dim, in which he basically wrote “idk if God exists but I don’t really care – all I need is me”. But here he likens the band to an idol of worship. We as the fans worship the GazettE, and they are also gods to us, their followers, in the sense that they provide us with life and unity (referred to here as death and darkness, respectively). The GazettE as a band brings darkness and death to the world (with their own meanings, of course).
This is also a song about the band breaking away from current gods and dogmas of the music industry, and from its greed. I also love the line, “The rite I must face is cloaked in darkness and isolation” – this process of their journey to finding their truth is lonely, and no one but them can do it for themselves. To do so also isolates them from everything they once knew. It’s them navigating what is expected of them by the masses and those they work with vs doing what they want without getting shunned for it.” (Cr: Defective Tragedy)
 “DAWN IS ABOUT REDISCOVERING THEMSELVES. I love the number of metaphors he brings back in this song – 13 stairs, death, merry-go-rounds and again dogma. Death here is about the transformation of them as a band, which occurs at the top of the 13 stairs to the gallows. And I find that so interesting because he uses the image of gallows (eg: 13 Stairs[-]1 and Forbidden Beaver) as like…an actual Death that means the end of a genre or a person’s reputation, but here it’s a place of transformation. In Last Heaven, the merry-go-round is a symbol of life – it comes back here but this time it’s red instead of blue (youthful) and is paired with the image of a mad banquet with emotions running wild (ie concerts). Basically, this is about the band’s life and, like, their life being about concerts. My favourite part is “Overcoming a period of confusion, I took those stirring emotions / And hung them up high on the 13 stairs” because there’s also the line “I’ve already had a lethal dose of misfortune / The ruined gallows towers above me” -> WE WENT THROUGH SOME SHIT BUT WE FOUND OURSELVES AND SURPRISE BITCH, BET YOU THOUGHT YOU’D SEEN THE LAST OF ME.” (Cr1: Heresiarchy, Cr2: Defective Tragedy)

Not from my notes directly but I feel like the difference between Bizarre to Juuyonsai no Knife (ie the only two songs about Real juvenile criminals) is a REALLY good representation of how Ruki’s lyrics have changed over the years. He went from taking perspectives of people who perpetrators of violence (to write horror stories, imo, but also to generally Explore their minds through art) to making comments about society and how systems affect people in real life. Not to say he doesn’t write about killers anymore or that social commentary is NEW for him, but just…a big change in what’s PROMINENT.
“Interesting that Wasteland is next, which is about Justice on the Internet. I know Ruki has always been really critical of the internet and the kind of social processes that occur online (see: Nakigahara) and here it’s about morality and justice, but more importantly the way it’s about crowd mindsets and CONTROL. And he just summarises it SO WELL in the first verse: “The thousand eyes that can kill even God / Transform into rebels that lust for control / If the time comes when right and wrong disappear / It will all end with a blood-red moon”. There’s also the line “Innocence gives way to sinful judgment” ie the innocent go along with their ways or it’s the innocent (the weak, as he says later) that are scrutinised. And I think about this a lot considering…some other fandoms I’m in >.>” (Cr: Defective Tragedy)

(INCUBUS) “The song is a lot of wondering what they did to deserve their trauma and how they want the dreams/nightmares to go away. I do like that at the end of the song they come to the conclusion that they cannot change what happened and decide “fuck the why”, accepting they didn’t deserve it. Even though the narrator is still stuck in the maze (of trauma), the letting go of asking why it happened is like, a really important step in healing. Because it’s the end of self-blame. So, I hope narrator can heal :( “
(DEUX) “My dumbass never realised this but the music of Deux itself has DUALITY. Metal with solo piano. IT REALLY TOOK ME FIVE YEARS TO REALISE THAT HUH. It’s about two conflicting selves (which to me sound more like intrusive thoughts, considering Blemish’s VERY LOUD “These days I’m better dead”) and the effect that has on like, your emotionality and how it leads to loneliness. His use of nightmares in this song is fascinating – the Japanese word he uses (sakayume) is like…a reverse dream, like if a child has a nightmare you tell them it’s a sakayume so it means what happened in their dream definitely won’t happen AND something good will happen instead. And this is something Ruki prays for.”
(Ominous) “The imagery is really dark in this – “A prayer crushed under wreckage / Reflects in your eyes as you start to fly / I see you in the sky thick with shadows / Spinning around with nightmares” – there’s a desperate attempt to fly and get better and do Well but still they’re surrounded by darkness and nightmares, unable to escape. “Don’t forget that a heart cannot die / Don’t forget that dreams aren’t predictions of the future” –There’s hopefulness in a heart not dying yet a very strong despair when he says dreams don’t predict the future, not even reverse dreams. “It steals away my still-unformed future, and whenever I step forth / I can’t see a thing in that shadowed sky / My screaming can’t save anything / when I’m killing myself with sadness” – oh that hurts, that hurts A LOT. He wants to fly but he can’t. This is just SO MUCH. And they didn’t even have an instrumental outro, IT JUST ENDS WITH ACCEPTANCE OF HOPELESSNESS AND DEPRESSION.” (Cr: Heresiarchy)

“The drums in Goddess uggghhh UGGGHHH. AND THE GUITAR TOOOOOO. Lyrically, this is really a mid-point between depression and healing. It’s A Lot. He writes about his suffering, wanting to make something of his mistakes and his sins and actually WANTING TO LIVE. But it’s so sad that in the end he still feels really helpless – the subtle changes between “I want to become the stars that fill the silence” vs “I can’t become the stars that fill the silence”. But I think that on some level he knows what the next step is. He wishes in the last two lines, “If only I could share my grief that can’t be put to words / If only I could face reality and live accepting my crippling despair”. THAT’S THE FIRST STEP!!!! THAT’S A STEP!!!! TO HEALING!!!! “These bleak thoughts are my sacrifice that will one day begin to thaw into a selfless, smiling heart” – this line is fucking LOADED. Like, he sacrifices his bleak thoughts by expressing them and by making art out of his pain in hopes that he will be able to acknowledge and accept his suffering and his pain as a means to heal, as a way of allowing him to have a selfless and smiling heart. Like, this is SO much of what his art is about and what it has been for SUCH a long time it makes me so emotional that this is what he’s saying about his own lyrics.” I realise too that the goddess is likely the same goddess from Blemish. I’m still unsure what to make of it because Blemish ends in Ruki writing he doesn’t wants to be reborn, and not abandoned. But here he ends with wanting to heal. Wanting to move on and live.
WHICH BRINGS ME TO UNDYING.
“WHEN HE BROUGHT BACK “SLEEP, COUNT ME DOWN AGAIN” >>> God, this song is so powerful. THERE ARE SO MANY CALL-BACKS TO DOGMA. I SHOULD’VE KNOWN THIS BUT STILL. BITCH WHAT THE FUCK. It’s a direct continuation of Ominous (“I won’t arise from this”). I think in this song he’s becoming that figure that is flying in Ominous, and the one that is surrounded by nightmares and shadows – the first verses are about how the future is drenched in misfortune yet we must continue to live (and suffer, but WE CAN AT LEAST BE A BIT HOPEFUL). Ruki says this YET HE IS STILL DREAMING, EVEN AS THE END COMES (“My heart starts to disappear along with the spirit of my words / And though it knew the end was near / It dreamt of things it shouldn’t want / And even now I am still—“). There’s also his mentions of sins again that he continues to drown in :( But overall, this song is really about living despite all the pain, which is really meaningful after Dogma ended on such a note of hopelessness. There’s so much power in this song.” (Cr: Heresiarchy)
“Vacant doesn’t necessarily sound like a romantic relationship breaking down as much as it is about making a mistake and being unable to fix it between you and someone else (or other people), even if Ruki said he wrote it with a band’s image in mind. But the gist is is that there is yet again a struggle within the self (“Self-condemnation distorts the answer / And I lose sight of what I should be / Because of those unconscious actions / I can’t even dream”). The line “In the pain of not being able to tie back the undone thread / The traces left by stopping time keep piling up” really got to me – being stuck in time and constantly wishing for something that was and being hurt by the fact it’s gone is something I personally relate to. But even as the narrator is stuck in time, their grip on the past is loosening – they are forgetting, memories fade, and they lose their strength (“Vacant, you are withering”).” (Cr: Heresiarchy)

(Faling) ““Together, embracing the same pain: it’s only temporary / Don’t forget that this is not the end / So come on, let’s open our eyes and fall / We just believe in ourselves to die / Sometimes it’s okay to be broken” THIS MEANS SO FUCKING MUCH AFTER THE AMOUNT OF TIMES RUKI ENDED DOGMA SONGS WITH HOPELESSNESS AND AT BEST “WE HAVE TO KEEP LIVING AND SUFFERING AND BEING IN PAIN” BUT IN FALLING, PAIN IS TEMPORARY. PAIN IS TEMPORARY. WE WILL HEAL, BITCH. WE WILL GET BETTER, BITCH.” (Cr: Defective Tragedy)
Can’t find my notes bc it’s somewhere else in my Tumblr drafts but basically: I consider Mortal, Utsusemi and Sono Kore wa Moroku like a Depression Trilogy™ in Ninth. Mortal is about depression, loneliness and loss but like, tying it to a singular person or event in which the narrator felt grief. Utsusemi is about loneliness and depression as well, AND RUKI USES THE CICADA SHELL METAPHOR, WHICH IS THE SAME AS CRUCIFY SORROW (ALSO ABOUT DEPRESSION, BUT SOMEONE ELSE’S). But then, Sono Koe wa Moroku is THE turning point and where he first mentions (in this album) and actual DESIRE to heal and like, ON HIS OWN. IT’S ABOUT BEING STRONG FOR HIMSELF AND THAT MAKES ME SO EMOTIONAL. And as I mentioned before, Falling also ends on a hopeful note about sadness not lasting forever – it’s like he’s prefacing the album with the fact sadness IS temporary and that there IS a turning point.
“Babylon’s Taboo is interesting…so apparently Babylon is a figure of western imperialism and capitalism in the Rastafari movement (an afro-centric anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist movement from Jamaica). The narrator is COMPLETELY aware of the oppression and injustice that goes on around him but confesses to doing nothing. I interpreted this as complacency to violence, which Ruki has written about before. Also, he describes a starry sky (which I presume represents wealth and happiness) as a lie, and that they are actually black eyes that watch and look down upon you. In the context of anti-capitalism, my interpretation is that the ‘guaranteed fate’ he writes about is the life-long struggle to attain wealth and happiness – we are doomed to dedicate our lives to this, futilely, to no end. and there’s nothing we can do about it. Another line that stood out to me most is “all I need is sanity but uncertainty will do”. this, along with the rest of the song, implies that the narrator is PRETTY DAMN SURE that we’re all fucked so like....HAHA COOL.” (Cr: Defective Tragedy)

(Two of a Kind) Okay so…another motif I noticed in this album is an I and a You. And I know this sounds weird considering almost EVERY SINGLE GAZETTE SONG uses first and second pronouns, but mental health is SUCH a prominent, overarching theme in a way no album concept has been before, hence why I’m saying this. Two of a Kind is really solidifying this for me, but they appear in almost every song (but the You is known as ‘she’ in The Mortal). This pair are connected in an extremely emotionally intimate way. For one, they share pain and understand each other’s pain. Secondly, the narrator falls into depression after they’re gone. A part of me thinks it could be a past self and a current self, considering Ruki’s said this album involved the Most introspection from him and Falling writes about sins and past mistakes again. So, it could be a way of separating a past and current self – a past self that was perhaps lost, and made mistakes, but ultimately creates his current self.
But it could also be another person, as this You figure is also a source of light – someone Ruki shares his wounds with, in Two of a Kind. If it’s another person, it may also make sense that the depression and loneliness written about in The Mortal and Utsusemi is triggered by someone extremely close leaving him. Either way, it is this understanding and connection between the I and the You that also bring hope for the future and I REALLY love the way that hope is conveyed in the chorus of Two of a Kind. There’s so much light in it compared to the parts of the song where ruki calls himself filthy and ugly, and when he writes about negative feelings that never go away and bleed into this other person. but i think this other person understands it, and that’s why he can move on.
“Abhor God is a REALLY dark and heavy take on MOVING FORWARD. Like there’s so much rage in the way he writes about killing his lust, pride and anxiety and stringing up his nightmares in a noose, yet so much power in how he moves forward and sings victory with his music and his art. This is likely connected to Ninth Odd Smell and Uragiru Bero - where he writes about the band’s history and his imposter syndrome as an artist despite the band never going to die just because of that. He contrasts ‘too fast to live’ and ‘too young to die’ like, he’s really in a sort of purgatory where he’s constantly making too many mistakes to be happy but has too much to do for him to give up. So it’s here that he chooses to keep going no matter how weak the beat is. Imagery-wise this feels like.....continuing to live not because you have happiness to look forward to but just out of sheer willpower. Like it’s just so angry. (A/N): So... since nobody wanted to send me letters for the relationship headcanon thing... I low key took it upon myself to create something, and as always I hope you like’ll like it!
Also sorry for the annoying spam about this pairing but since I will be out for a week, and won’t be able to write I wanted to be able to write something more for them so that you’ll have a bit of reading material in the following days, without me...

WARNINGS: Mention of Sex (there is a literal letter for kinks, so... be aware children!).
 ·         A for Arguments - How often do you two argue? Who apologises first? How do they make up? etc 
 I honestly feel like most of the arguments would be at the start of their relationship, between the boys and then you would be dragged into them, mostly because they are always about whether you have paid enough attention equally to both (which is impossible in most of the cases).
 Some of them can be pretty explosive, seeing the two assholes you have to deal with but I feel like it would be this way only at first, mostly because they would need to work out their issues, alongside marking their territory (you), since they are two extremely possessive creatures, but in the end they would try their best in order to make you happy, knowing that your politic is: both or nothing.
 The only fight you started was when you discovered three months into the relationship that they were supernatural being and hadn’t told you nothing about it, mostly due to the fact that they didn’t want to scare you; you actually ended up being scared a bit, but you were more enraged because you couldn’t help but feel like the problem of this was that they hadn’t trusted you enough with their secrets.
 It was solved with those two being for a few days away from you, with you not answering their phone calls (whereas they explode in each other’s and in your face, you are more the meditative type) (you have to be, with those two children) and you reasoned that if they hadn’t hurt you till that moment, there was nothing to fear, and you just wanted their side of the story.
 But honestly… most of the time the thing would end up in passionate sex… not that you minded.
·         B for Bedtime Routine - Do they prefer to be the big spoon or little spoon? Favourite sleeping position? etc 
I feel like the problem with sleeping position is mostly Ivar’s legs: sometimes they hurt very much and are extremely sensitive, so you can’t all sleep together (at first Roman was extremely happy because more alone time with you, but he low key misses the furnace of warmth the blue-eyed werewolf is).
 And even when you sleep together, you have to be careful with him (although he hates making you both worry) so he is the first one who usually settle down onto the bed so he can choose the position and space (Roman thinks he is just overexaggerating sometimes the pain so he can he be the king of the bed) and then Roman settle in a way that can fit his tall frame and finally you end up between the two, sometimes with their arms threaded somehow around your body but also just simply sharing the same pillow as them, or just facing one of the two.
 Also I personally thing that Ivar wouldn’t mind being the small spoon, if you are without Roman in bed for one night, mostly because it is a comfortable position and he low key has a thing for the simplest of affection (we stan a touch-starved boy), although he would never admit it and straight up threatened Roman when he caught him into that position.
 (You honestly love that position because you can tease the hell out of him).
Roman, when instead, you sleep alone with him, prefer to have you with his head on his chest, because he also loves the skin on skin contact, alongside the fact that if you are smaller than him, it ignites his size kink, but also he can make you listen to his heartbeat, which he knows you found comforting, alongside protecting you and shielding you.
 (The real reason why you are always in the middle, is usually so that they can face the door, in case something happens during the night; so it’s safer than you, they might fight on so many things but when it comes to your safety they are strangely calm about it).
·         C for Cook - Do they cook? Can they cook? What type of food do they like to cook for their partner? 
Ivar can, since not only he kind of have to run an hotel, but also he was a momma’s boy, alongside spending a lot of time with her, he learned a thing or two: he certainly is no French chief, but he could survive without take-away easily, alongside the fact that whenever he wants to he can cook you quite a dinner (this is mostly reserved for your special nights… he expresses a lot of his emotions with more actions than with words, and also… he wants you well-fed…).
 Roman can’t in the slightest, since not only he is a spoiled brat, but he tends to forget things (you are still surprised that the “Shiny Moon” hasn’t burned down…) so usually for him it’s take-away or expensive restaurants; honestly as a upir he has strange tates and is appetite for food doesn’t match the one for blood… so he could honestly also not eat for days, but when he has a partner (I honestly think that if you had even the slightest eating disorder, they would be stuffing you with food) (again… your safety comes first) he makes sure that they share their meals together.
 Whether it’s Chinese take-aways or expensive meals from an Italian restaurant, he honestly feels hungrier if his partner is eating with him (even more if you are wearing only lingerie or the expensive dress, he bought you days ago).
 I honestly feel like they would both replenish their partners with either sweets or expensive food, mostly trying to take care and understand their partner’s favorites meals.
·         D for DIY - Do they like to make gifts for their partner? Are they good at general DIY around the house? Do they enjoy doing it? 
Ivar does it, I low key headcanon that he has a pendant for it, mostly because in the show he is clearly very creative and able beyond measure in things such as projecting and creating hand-made objects, so I feel like he would take great pride into DIY your own gifts, both because it is a bit of a possessive way of letting others know that you are his, but also it is a way of mixing his creativeness with your personality.
 Again Roman is not the best with practical tasks, and is honestly very envious of Ivar’s DIY and ideas for your gifts, because (as I will say later) he prefer to get you things in shop (expensive things most of the time) and although he knows that you appreciate them, he still feel like they are greatly anonymous if confronted with Ivar’s.
 And this often puts him a bit off, although he is constantly showering you with gifts; but then you once caught him trying to do origamis, and asked him to teach you, ending up actually developing a common ground that permits him to teach you something manual and for you to pass time with him.
·         E for Effort - How much effort do they put into their relationship?
A LOT!
 Both of them are very VERY into this relationship, mostly because they haven’t still killed each other, demonstrating that they actually want this to work it out, although sometimes they headbutt on the silliest of themes.
 At first, you honestly took it VERY VERY easy, such as you are more fuckbuddies than actually in a relationship but a few months and a few discoveries changed it all, and now you are literally stuck into this (happily stuck into this, although you have to literally sedate riots during dinner and alleviate threats over breakfast).
·         F for First Date - Where do you go on your first date? How does it go etc?
I honestly don’t want to go into too much details, because I want to write a cute fanfic about this, but it was on Saint Valentine’s Day (corny, much…) and you had had the worst week ever, hence forgetting it all about the boys (you were still in the “fuckbuddies” mentality, whereas for the boys it was already more…) (Ivar basically saw you and was ready to get on his knees and propose). You didn’t do it with the intention to hurt them, but you were hurting too much and the thought of sorting what your mess of a relationship with them was… was too hard.
 You literally woke up the following day to somebody basically headbanging against your door and it was your idiots, who were scared shitless something had happened.
 (Also, it was Saint Valentine’s Day, so they had to be two romantic idiots).
 It was the first time you actually settled your relationship status, and when you felt a little bit better went out the night, at an expensive restaurant (also you got dicked down, but that is another story…).
·         G for Gifts - What kind of gifts do they gift their partner? What kind of gifts do they receive? Etc
As previously stated, Ivar is the more thoughtful over his gifts.
 Not that Roman isn’t, but whereas Roman is the type to be like “you want it, I got it”, Ivar is more the type to watch your interests and ideas carefully, observing yourself and priding himself in being a perfect detective of people’s personality, getting you very unique pieces, mostly handcrafted by him (usually it’s little wooden statuettes, for example one carved as a wolf after you discovered about them, which you treasure, but he is also great at creating bracelets and jewelry in general).
 (Also his intuition isn’t always right and sometimes you got thing that maybe didn’t match your style and you weren’t able to wear, still you treasure them, because you know that they were made with love and with you in your mind).
 (Also, Ivar has a straight up tacky taste in underwear and such, so he avoids those things, mostly because once he got you ass-less panties and your reaction wasn’t definitely pleased).
 (Roman has still a recording of the entire thing).
 Roman is more materialistic: as I said, “you want it, I got it”, which means everything from your favorite foreign sweets, to elegant designer dresses that you can use also just to stand in your room, eating take-away with him.
 He likes spoiling you, so his gifts doesn’t have a proper date, they just rain on you because maybe he saw that you were overworking yourself and needed a reward or he saw it and thought of you (his taste in lingerie is pretty different from Ivar’s, thank God); also he literally will do anything to get you what you want (I mean his mother got an amusement park shut for him and Letha… think about what the upir could do…) and he isn’t afraid of breaking a few rules to get you to smile brightly for him.
 They aren’t used to receiving gifts, so they literally cherish THE HELL out of anything you get them, and you try to match their presents, although you clearly don’t have their resources and sometimes you ask the other’s help for the gift and; they are always doing it begrudgingly, but you saw them exchanging gifts on Christmas and couldn’t help but spy their little smiles, showing they had reached a somehow mutual respect.
·         H for Honeymoon - Where do they go on Honeymoon? Details on the honeymoon etc.
Another thing that would probably set arguments between the two because they have different ideas about it is “honeymoon” (or more generically your vacations).
 Ivar wants to go to colder places, mostly place where his heritage and culture is shared, which usually means that it is a very unusual vacation in silent places broken off from the world and probably projecting long walks and camping (which you don’t think would be comfortable for the werewolf, but you wouldn’t want to disrupt his lovely shining eyes).
  Roman is the opposite: he went on vacation to Maui in the series, so I feel like his ideal vacation would be beach, warm weather, relax and in a perfect and expensive resort, with people bringing him anything he needed with just a snap of his fingers.
 He wants to relax and not walk around place where your bones freeze off and risk hypothermia.
 (He is also worried for Ivar’s legs, but won’t admit it).
 So they end up fighting fiercely, till you get your own voice and remember that they hadn’t even asked your opinion, which get them to feel guilty and let you decide, trusting your judgement (and trying to corrupt you with sexual favors, not gonna lie) so you try to mitigate the two boys’ ideas.  
·         I for Intimacy - What do like they like? Where do they like to be intimate? Are they experienced etc? 
Roman is definitely experienced we all know and has no trouble with sexuality, being extremely sensual and not minding it in the slightest; he could take you everywhere (the fact that they are both a bit of exhibitionist doesn’t help): his bed, the kitchen counter, in the bathroom, in the back of his bar…
 He doesn’t have in the slightest a problem with it, and when you two are down to do the dirty he has two moods, which mostly depends on how well fed he is and how his day went, which are teasing and controlling or animalistic and tough.
 He never leaves control to you (unless you either take it or beg really prettily for it) and sometimes he can also dom Ivar, who instead is more insecure and shy about his sexuality.
 Before you he actually didn’t know his… you-know-what could work, and during your first times he was only around for the foreplay, preferring to sit back and wait for Roman to finish you off, which got you a bit displeased since you wanted to feel them both (also at the same time).
 But Ivar strangely ran off and wouldn’t answer your questions in the slightest preferring to do anything else and distracting you with kisses and other types of touches, in which he is extremely good, let me tell you…
 You soon discovered of his little insecurity and got Roman to leave you alone for a night, to actually experience the entire thing alone so he could feel more comfortable without Roman’s shadow looming over him; at first he was uncomfortable and protested, but with a few kisses you managed to get him to relax under your touches and discovered that his “little problem” wasn’t a problem in the slightest…
From there… it was game over for you.
 I actually think that he is more genuine than Roman as in, Roman can be teasing and wears a façade during sex (mostly during your first months of fooling around) whereas Ivar has a way of expressing his love through sex so it is extremely emotional and most importantly very possessive (sex doesn’t finish for you till you are all marked).
 He is a bit of a fighter for control with Roman but due to his insecurity for his inexperience he follows the man’s orders, if he feels like it…
 They can go from nights where you would be fucked against the first free surface for the entire night (mostly after Ivar turns and Roman gets thirsty) to nights where they take their time, worshipping you till you breach the edge for multiple times.
·         J for Jealously - How jealous are they? How often do they get jealous? How they react? Etc
The funny thing between this territorial males is that they are always at each other’s throats but when someone flirts with you also jokingly (yeah I am talking about you Hvitserk) they are plotting between themselves how to kill the bastard and ditch the body in the nearest lake.
 Ivar is the more jealous one, mostly because he got stabbed in the back, alongside his constant insecurities so he constantly feels the need to be reassured (Aslaugh babying him again didn’t help in that department) and to mark you up; he is very animalistic, which comes from the fact that his jealousy tends to show up mostly when he is surrounded by his fellow werewolves: he sees the way they look at you, the prettiest thing in the universe, and basically growls at them back.
 Roman is more classy: he is the type that if he sees a man flirting with you (a man who isn’t Ivar, he is low key chill with Ivar’s flirting… because he knows that although it makes you laugh it is terrible) he will come onto you, kissing you affectionately, your hand will be immediately entwinned with his and sometimes if you drag him away from the crowd to make him cool off, he will lovingly slap you ass.
 (Ivar has taken the bad habit of doing the same, just less… discreetly).
 They are very jealous but trust you extremely.
 They just don’t trust men around you.
 (And on your part… sometimes it is nice to see them getting jealous just to see them team up).
·         K for Kink - Do they have any particular kinks?
I am pretty sure that as soon as your relationship will be a stable one, “blood play” would be brought into the mix, but only after a very long discourse with you about its risks and how to prevent them, they want you to be the safest possible, and if you feel even slightly uncomfortable about it they will stop.
 (Also, it isn’t only about your blood, but also theirs).
 Roman also avoids feeding himself from you, mostly because you are “divinely delicious” and he doesn’t want to become too greedy and hurt you and is secretly thankful that Ivar is with him when they attempt this.
 Ivar on his part likes making a mess and cleaning it with his tongue.
 Also I honestly feel like since they are both predators they would love nothing more than to stalk you around the house in an attempt of “adult hide-and-seek”, in which… if they get you, you have to get dicked down right then and then; it’s the thrill of the hunt and you, yourself have a tendency to love their shiny eyes, excited by the run.
 They would also share an exhibitionist kinks, although Ivar might take a bit… but as soon as he gets into it, it is his way to get back to those who didn’t believe he was “man enough” (one time, the first time you stayed with him after the full moon, he took you so harshly and greedily that he made you scream of pleasure high enough that no brothers of his or clients at the hotel could look you into the eyes, the following morning, and he just sat onto his chair at breakfast, smirking proudly).
 (You decked him with a spoon).
 Roman is also a huge lover of teasing you and edging you, alongside bondage (Ivar is still learning, and he honestly prefer feeling you moving against him, it makes him feel again a ferocious predator stopping and catching his prey).
 Ivar likes instead overstimulating you, he has a fascination with the way you are when you finally cum and he likes to replay it till you literally pass out.

·         L for Long Distance - How do they cope with Long Distance? How they prefer to keep in contact? Etc
At the start, and for at least a good year, they are in a long distance relationship, since they have their own bar and hotel, whereas you have your job in your city, and although it is shitty you don’t feel like changing it and they respect it (although you knew that you could just move in with them and wouldn’t have to lift a finger).
 It is a bit tough the more into the relationship that you become, mostly if you can’t visit them for a weekend and they can’t manage to visit you (alongside the fact that your house is very small and that they had to sleep on the sofa and floor when they come over) (You still got dicked down on your small bed, and are still not sure how you managed to avoid to break it).
 It is tough, but they can’t stop thinking for a single minute that it isn’t worth it and you think the same.
·         M for Marriage - Do they want to get married? Their wedding etc. 
I don’t think that these three would never have a traditional marriage, although Ivar is actually a very traditional guy and would insist on seeing you in white and give you the fairytale like wedding you deserve, whereas Roman doesn’t care about these things in the slightest (look at his parents) and he honestly doesn’t want to add you to the Godfrey line knowing it would make you an easy target.
 They settle on a nice ceremony with the people they love and understand their dynamics on the beach with you in a short white dress, smiling gently with your bouquet of flowers, pronouncing your vows shyly, and professing your love for the two men.
·         N for Night’s Out - Where do they take their partner on nights out? How often do nights out happen?
The fact that Roman literally owns a club, comes handy a lot of times, such as on your nights out, although Ivar is a pretty tame guy; it is usually only you and Roman dancing, Ivar feels uncomfortable but he doesn’t mind coming with you, as long as he gets his booth and beer and maybe later a lap-dance from you (that’s also the reason why you are happy that Roman is the owner of the bed, or else you wouldn’t be able to do half the things you do on that booth).
 Sometimes still Roman enjoys showing his two lovers off, so expensive restaurants are his go-to, mostly if you have been overworking yourself, or need to celebrate something, and although the entire thing is nice… half of the time it ends with you teasing the two boys or Ivar getting annoyed and teasing you.
 Roman literally always mumbles about how he can’t take you two anywhere.
·         O for Often - How often do you see each other? How many times a week? Etc
If possible: each weekend.
 At the start of the relationship, when it was a fuckbuddy situation you usually would be passing the weekend with them and then go back, but as soon as feelings started getting involved the weekend wasn’t enough, mostly if there were some in which you would end up having to work extra or have other activities, hence they sometimes come over to your city (when permitted, and I mean… they are both the bosses of themselves).
 They won’t come over or want you over also if Roman is being extremely thirsty or Ivar has gone through a bad moon, in most of those cases they help out each other… and send you photos about it all…
·         P for Public Displays of Affection - Do they like PDA? Do they have boundaries etc. 
Roman doesn’t have boundaries, in the slightest, but he is a bit of a gentleman so he will put his hand on your thigh and probably move it up from there to tease you, but he only when he knows you won’t get caught or that if you will, you won’t mind it; but outside of it he is more a fan of holding hands and hands on your lower back, mostly if he is guiding you through crowds.
 He likes kissing you and don’t mind doing it in front of everyone, whereas Ivar is more shy on the entire concept, mostly showing his affection towards you with his family, where he feels more comfortable expressing his emotions, which means that he will kiss the hell out of you at family dinners (Sigurd once complained about it and you straight up slipped, nonchalantly an hand down Ivar’s pants in front of him) but he won’t dare more, mostly if his mother or father are there.
 Outside of family, he doesn’t mind hand holding and other softer ways of affection, he will constantly have his hands on you but not in a pressuring way and avoids kisses on the mouth, although if made extremely jealous, other than bringing you to the first bathroom to show you who you belong to, he will bite your neck or kiss on it possessively, never breaking eye-contact with whoever is bothering you.
·         Q for Quiet - Why do they get quiet? How does their partner solve it?
With Ivar, him being quiet is not always a tragic thing, most of the time it just means that he is overthinking things and just thinking and you need to just take him in your arms and ask him what is wrong; if it’s about his legs, he might be secretive about it, but you learned the signs and will already know and will confront him about it gently, trying to reassure him or straight up get him the medicine.
 Sometimes it’s just a relaxing moment between you.
 Whereas with Roman is silence is painful: he knows that yeah you hate being insulted, but the cutting silence he can create is honestly annoying and usually both you and Ivar tremble under the heaviness of it, whether it is your fault or not.
 In these cases, it’s better to wait for Roman to be ready to speak, supporting him in your own way.
·         R for Reunion - How they like to reunite with their partner? 
At first, I am not going to lie and I have to admit that is it sex, mostly because they tried to be normal people and ask around questions, but they just feel uncomfortable about it, since it mostly seems awkward and not genuine, so sex spoke louder for them and after they felt more comfortable talking as if they had to get used to their bodies again, before their brain could.
 Now it is more normal and they usually hug for a few hours and cuddle, mostly if it is been so so long, alongside eating together or doing things together to feel harmony again and touches are always  involved.
 (And obviously… sex).
·         S for Surprise - Do they like surprises? What kind of surprises do they like to get etc? 
Ivar and you probably not, since Roman can be pretty tempestuous and you should be scared of what that man’s mind can conjure, alongside the fact that since you are both two “busy” people (not that Roman isn’t, but he can literally skip entire days of job delaying the control to somebody) you are not into Roman’s surprise.
 (Usually because they are embarrassing expression of his love, at two A.M. out of your window).
 (Ivar got a serenade, yeah).
 But sometimes you try to surprise Roman (who is constantly “YoU wOn’T bE aBlE tO sUrPrIsE mE”) and you actually get him quite good, most of the time, which either involves surprise sex or improvised lunch into his office at the club.
 Roman really appreciates it, although he has to say that “I knew it all about it”.
 (Sure, Jan…).
·         T for Texts - How often do they text? How do they react when they receive texts from their partner? 
Since it is a LDR… texts are extremely necessary (alongside dick pics) (… AKA Roman’s).
 At first, they were sillier and they literally have a group chat, which changes names each day, since Roman and Ivar are two petty assholes (but you solved the thing with the name “the queen and her two subjects”).
 As I was saying… at first IT WAS A LOOOOT SILLIER (and Ivar had to understand actually how to do so many things, which explains the lesser dick pics) from memes to strange gifs, but you were happy they came because they did help you with your day and relaxing.
 As soon as you get together, as in… you move in together, it starts to be a little bit more domestic it is used for things such as… grocery lists, intelligent quirks and finally… still dick pics…
·         U for Unity - How well do they work with their partner? Do they make a good team? 
Strangely they do.
 Which isn’t something you were ready to bet on at first, mostly due to the fact that they are constantly at each other’s throat, which isn’t something that normal couple usually have (not that you are normal in the slightest…).
 But strangely each of your personality compliments each other, alongside you acting as the final glue of the relationship: Ivar is serious and insecure, but he can also be a strong rock to lean onto, alongside the fact that him being bluntly honest makes him a good conversationalist and opinion.
 Roman is the humor of the relationship, alongside the tough one and the one that you run to for anything, knowing he will take care of it: he is a nurturer, but he actually ends up having some issues on himself, mostly because he always ends up being a bit of a spoiled brat: but don’t worry, you and Ivar are there to help him through it all.
 Finally, both the boys are a grounding presence for you, alongside helping you in each way and form, they can because they somehow treasure each moment they spend together.
·         V for Vacation - Favourite vacation spot to take their partner? 
I think this was previously answered so I will say something very quick: Ivar is more a fun of colder places and walk in the nature (not gonna lie, but he would totally buy Greenland instead of Trump..), meanwhile Roman is the type of person who would love nothing more than a good trip under a sunny sky in an expensive resort (such as an island in Pacific Ocean).
·         W for When -  At what point do they move into together? What kind of place? Etc
After a year, mostly because there are so many things that need to be taken care for and you honestly thought that it would end up being a disaster, so you ended up quitting your job but kept your apartment but you slowly set in a routine, whereas you were expecting those two to be at each other’s throat…
 … but they seemed fine and during the first period they didn’t have too much time on their hand, actually, mostly they went to sleep tired organizing each of the new things she had brought with her.
 In the end, they were peacefully, mostly; they still had their territorial fights, but they could handle them better, now that they were all together.
 The house is small, meaning smaller than Ivar and Roman wanted, but you insisted in the fact that they didn’t spend too much money, mostly because you didn’t want them to spend too much money on you, and so settled for a nice house (also you wanted to maybe move into another city, as soon as things get better and you get used to each other’s personality); it isn’t small, and it has everything you might need in the last model, but it is comfortable and doesn’t feel empty.
 But most importantly you decorated it all together, so it’s home.
·         X for X-ray - What is their favourite body part on their partner? 
Non-sexual: Ivar loves your lips, he just love the way they pursue into a smile, into a pout, open due to surprise and lay kisses all over him.

 He can share you because you are your own person and he knows that somehow you and him belong with Roman, but to discover that the child was his, he didn’t know if he could be partial to that.
 You would probably take a lot of time before you would even try to make plans for further than the next day.
 If eventually accidents did happen, I honestly feel like both the boys would stop overthinking at least for the entire pregnancy, not wanting nothing to happen to the baby (if you decide to keep it), mostly because the child is half-supernatural so it might hurt her a bit, and be tough, mostly if it is a upir (how well did that turn out for Lena…) and then they would be too affectionate to it to even not consider it their sons.
 You would then transfer to your ideal place: a little house in the suburbs, maybe away in the countryside, but not too far away from the city.
 You would have a heavily life, and they would never be bothered by your aging, it would just made them discover more and more they love, and you gifted them life, a dynasty.

I don’t know really why it kept playing in my head during that period, but it was actually a soothing balm for my wounded heart and my broken thoughts, so I’m really grateful to it for keeping me steady (well, as steady as I could have been in that circumstance)... I love this song (and its album) to bits!!!

I get talkative when it comes to surveys so I like explaining myself, like right now haha. I definitely answer these types much less often, though. You are female. Indeed I am. You are third generation Russian and Polish. I’m quite sure there is zero tinge of both bloods in me. You live in Florida. And I also live way too far from Florida. I don’t think we’re much alike, man lol. ^And it is just way too fucking hot for you. Not at the moment. Christmas weather is approaching fast, so I can actually go nights without turning on the aircon now. You are currently waiting to get a piercing. Nope. Terrified of them. You have lots of tattoos already planned out. I don’t have any design ideas other than my dog’s pawprint and a plate of nachos. You write, but don't really consider yourself a 'writer'. Gore generally makes you laugh. I try not to laugh at it because I know artists spend a fuckton of time working on making it look legitimate (not related to gore but I felt bad when a bunch of fans called out Bryan Cranston’s bald cap in the El Camino movie, especially knowing that Greg Nicotero, AKA dude who works on the makeup in The Walking Dead, was in the team who made the cap. They did what they could and it highkey looks pretty good, but some fans are just brutal); but if the gore was intentionally corny or bad, then I might laugh.
You basically write down everything because you're afraid you'll forget. Yep, that’s why my Notes app is a list of the most random shit. You're a 'highschool drop-out'. No, I graduated. ^And you're currently working towards your GED. We don’t have that here; I don’t actually know what that means. Am open to anyone explaining it to me! Hahaha You don't really care what anyone thinks about you. Of course I care. But it only matters most when the opinions come from the people close to me. You Tweet excessively and shamelessly. I was definitely more obsessed before (I would probably do 150-200 tweets a day and the website would usually kick me out for an hour for tweeting too much). But I mellowed down over the years when I realized making Twitter my life was a horrible habit and that I needed to get off my laptop lol. I still have the app open all day long, but I do more lurking than posting tweets.

[Doc] Okay, we're golden. She put up her closed for lunch sign.
[Yaunfen] Yes mama. - reaches for her hand-
[Deer] Smiles a little as she takes it-
[Doc] Swings back and jams forward in a violent headbang and the portal cracks open reality in front of hir-
[Notch] Peeks out-
-The opening is in front of a very old TV in a small room a few steps away is a balcony overlooking the rest of the antique shop-
[Mort] Waves from the steps- Hey Notch.
[Doc] Holds the way for the others to pass through onto the rather threadbare carpet.
[Mort] So what kind of mischief are you guys all up to today?
[HG] -goes though looking at all the different things-
-As the servers pass through, they take a moment to shift into more human like appearances-
[Mort] Nice transformation! You guys make it look so effortless.
[Dawn] Also comes up and releases the tiny chain that blocks the stairs-
[Deer] - It always feels so weird
[Doc] Yeah I know. It pays to stay away from mirrors and not look at your hands too much.
-The shop is a little dusty as usual, but the scent is a comforting mix of wood polish, books, elderly dried herbs and attic smell.
-The tv makes an awful crackly static noise behind them all.-
[Doc] Jumps in a little bit of fear- Please don't be Polybius...
[Yaunfen] Stays close to Doc-
[HG] -covers his ears not liking the sound of static-
[Glitchy] -There's an awful crackling as he pulls himself out of the same electronic device, looking like something decidedly eldritch. Neat. ...Also slightly horrifying.- Huh. -The Tv stops crackling.-
[Yaunfen] Eeek!
[Dawn] Defensive stance-
[Doc] Oh geeze Glitchy you scared me....
[Notch] Same!
[Glitchy] -Looks at Dawn and his eyes narrow behind his glasses a bit, before he looks back at Doc- Didn' mean to. Felt someone going. Decided I'd tag along. I need the exercise.
[Dawn] Who is this? I don't think we've met...
[Doc] Ah, okay. You know our friend Lie is pregnant right?
[Glitchy] Since Strangled isn't here, I'm just Red. And yes, I figured as much.
[Mort] Hey Hg, wanna give the plants a boost while Dawn isn't looking? - Indicates a windowsill full of sad little shoots in pots-
[Dawn] Red? I'm Dawn.
[Doc] Dawn's a witch Glitchy.
[HG] -Sees the plant and waters them while also fixing their soil-
-The little sprouts explode and throw a few creeping vines up the windowsill and down to the carpet. -
[Mort] Glad to see someone loves doing that as much as I do.
[Glitchy] A pleasure to meet you. -He doesn't offer his hand to shake, but does nod aknowledgingly-
[Dawn] Likewise. What's your area of expertise?
[Doc] How are you eyes doing anyway Glitchy, you haven't checked in with me in awhile.
[Yaunfen] Regards the overflowing plants. - Aww... no candy. I like the sweet plants better. How are the pumpkins Hg?
[Glitchy] Glitches, Dreams.. Pokémon. Oh! And they're a lot better! I mostly need my glasses to read on good days. -He taps his glasses and it's obvious today isn't a "just for reading" day-
[HG] they are growing great they are already starting to combine not as big as the others though
[Yaunfen] Let me know when they're ready! We can make a big fun mess!
[Dawn] Dreams... -she shakes her head a bit- Never was one for sleeping very soundly.
[Mort] Wait! Someone said Pokemon!
[Dawn] Oh gods....
[Mort] Has already whipped out a DS, - I'm playing Leaf green!
[Glitchy] I could help with your sleep, if you want. And really? -He moves over to Mort to look- I don't remember much about that generation.
[HG] -Is looking around at the different thing in the shop-
[Mort] I'm not very far but my Beedrill is pretty cool. I started with the Bulbasaur.
[Glitchy] I could hook you up with a mew, if you want. Or any of your favorite legendaries. -It's a tempting, half thought offer, more habit than anything.-
-There are a lot of books, no real order to anything. The shelves are crammed with knicknacks too. There's a small rack of clothes but it looks mostly like oddball coats. Someones cosplay closet but more authentic.
[Mort] Really? I love Mew! They're so cute.
[Glitchy] Of course. Even register it as a legit one. -Holds his hands out for the ds-
[Yaunfen] Wanders over by HG and pokes a finger in a little table fountain - I like the noise.
[Mort] Holds it out excitedly-
[HG] it's pretty too
[Yaunfen] Is pulling books and looking at them. They're holding a book on faries with some lavish illustrations-
[Glitchy] -Takes it and gets to work, there's a few concerning DS noises before the encounter music starts. Onscreen is a mew!-
[Mort] Catch it!
[Dawn] Good grief....
[Doc] Is leaning over to see-
[HG] -looks for a book on plants-
[Yaunfen] Hey HG? I got something from the sifter that says it's supposed to be a plant but it's not?
[HG] what is it?
-The screen is clearly different from a normal encounter, but only slightly so. Every item is maxed out, the PP is as well, and the HP bar is leading off the screen-
[Glitchy] -Bleps a small amount as a pokeball is used. It shakes once, twice, a third, and with some glitch motivation, clicks.-
[Yaunfen] Holds up what appears to be a chunk of pink rock candy, it looks vaguely like a little pink butt.
[Mort] Holy crap that's off the charts!
[HG] candy plant?
[Glitchy] Huh? -Looks up as it offers the naming screen- Oh, yeah. That happens when I do it. Strangled's HP bar will wrap around the screen, actually. Do you want to name the mew?
[Mort] Lets name him Skittles!
[Dawn] I'm going to go do the books...
[Notch] snickers-
[Yaunfen] I dunno. But it looks like a butt. - grins.
[Glitchy] Nice name. -He inputs that and saves the game before returning the DS to Mort. The next encounter everything would be back to normal, unfortunately. Seems if you want great stats you have to have Glitchy keep touching the device.-
[HG] I mean it does I wonder if water it, it might help it yaunfen
[Mort] Thanks man! - chuckles- I hope they get along with the rest of my team. Don't make my poor Oddish feel self-concious or anything. Haha.
[Yaunfen] You can try? - Holds it out a bit in it's little pot.
[HG] -waters the plant-
[Glitchy] Oh, they'll love Skittles. -There's a bit of darkness in his eyes as he mutters under his breath- Or they'll die a swift death.
[Mort] As much eyebrows up as a slightly pliable skull can muster.
[Glitchy] -Raises an eyebrow back- What?
[Mort] I guess it's more intense if it's a game you regularly go into...
[Doc] Please don't break my friends DS or spirit Glitchy.
[Glitchy] Oh you have no idea. And I won't! -He crosses his arms a bit- I'm not Strangled. That's his thing.
[Yaunfen] Watches the little plant as it shivers a bit and them plumps up slightly bigger. - It didn't do much, that's weird....
[Mort] Okay. Dawn's not too excited about playing games. She's a bit old fashioned. She gave me a few eye-rolls over getting this.
[Doc] Snorts. - Old fashioned? From what she's told me, she's so old when she was a kid pottery was considered innovative.
[Dawn] From downstairs- I heard that Doc....
[Doc] Sorry! But it's true isn't it?
[Dawn] Grumpy noises-
[Flux] Has been wandering the store, there are a lot of things that she's never seen before and she has a number of questions building. She's already shifted hey clothes to be more appropriate for out in the real world-
[Deer] Has gone to the window to look outside-
[Dawn] At Flux- See anything you like?
[Flux] - I'm not certain, there's so much here that I've never seen before...  I don't even know what most items in here are...  She runs fingers along a piece of an old loom
[Notch] I think I know what that is?
[Dawn] It's for weaving fabric. It makes smaller loops then knitting.
[Flux] Glancing at Notch- Isn't that what Steve does?
[Notch] Yes, he has his own name for it, but it's a thing people do out here too.
[Doc] He chose that name because it had something to do with the sounds his canes make when he clicks them together.
[Deer] - He's made so many things too!  Did you see the baby socks he made for Lie?
[Doc] I heard he was doing it, but I didn't see them.
[Yaunfen] From behind a bookcase - I saw! They were super tiny!
[Flux] Notices some jewelry and looks at the shiny pieces inside the case- Humans make such interesting things...
[Yaunfen] Is turning a little crank and it's making a slight grinding noise-
[Mort] You need a pencil to make that one work.
[Dawn] Smiles- I'm not much for wearing jewelry, but it is a feast for the eyes.
[Doc] I just like shiny things. And it's a good thing too because my little one has tracked a fair amount of glitter all over the castle.
[Flux] - Well you did see why I could not in the past, it would have become tainted
[Deer] - There is an over abundance of glitter in the castle...
[Notch] Takes her hand- See anything you like?
[Flux] - I am not certain...
[HG] -found a book on plants and is siting on the floor reading it-
[Mort] Peeks over his shoulder a bit-
[HG] -doesn't notice he is to engulfed in the book-
[Notch] Casts around and then makes a little noise - how about this?
-The necklace is three strands of purple beads grading from light to dark.-

[Doc] I think that would translate well into a lower resolution too....
[Flux] Flushes a little in her cheeks- I...  I...
[Notch] Gives her an uncertain look, his own assertion of her tastes being tested- Is that... okay?
[Flux] - I suppose...
[Notch] Then I'll take it. Please.
[Dawn] Unhooks the strands with a smile and passes them to him.
[Notch] Delicately hooks them around her neck and arranges them in a graceful drape over her shoulders and chest.
[Flux] Her fingers rise up to brush against the cool beads against her skin-
[Doc] Are we trading today, or just cash?
[Dawn] I can do either. Or both.
[Notch] Is just mooning over Flux.
[Yaunfen] Slides up behind Doc and scoots a small pile of books along the glass counter and closer to them-
[Flux] - Ah, Dawn, there is actually a slight problem you could help with
[Dawn] And that would be?
[Flux] - There is a problem with my energy whenever Notch and I...  Finish, our more intimate moments
[Dawn] Oh? Are you having some kind of surge?
[Notch] Not exactly...
[Flux] - I end up being unable to hold my form...
[Dawn] So it's a concentration issue?
[Flux] - Yes
[Dawn] Drumming her fingers. - Hmm. You guys have to come back here to go out again right? Let me think about it for a bit.
[Flux] - Alright, thank you
[Yaunfen] And this? Please. It reminds me of mom when you annoy her-
[Doc] Is suddenly trying not to laugh-
-The piece is a brown and white pitcher with a moose head as part of the top and spout. The face of the moose has rolled upward eyes and it looks pretty done with everything.

[Deer] - Yaunfen!
[Yaunfen] What? It's doing the eyeball thing!
[Deer] - Sighs- Dawn, would it be alright to leave some of this stuff here while we go shopping?
[Dawn] Of course.
[Notch] Just start a tab. I've got this.
[Doc] Cradles the pitcher- We'll treasure it always.
[Flux] - Is there anything you would like us to get you while we are out Dawn?
[Dawn] Nah, I'm good.
[Mort] Wait... will the candy plants grow out here?
[Yaunfen] Shrugs-
[HG] huh plants?
[Deer] - Well if Lie's plants can grow out here...
[Doc] Yaunfen do you have any on you?
[Yaunfen] I have some of the candy cane cattails, the popsicle grass, and some of the chocolate pumpkins.
[Doc] I'd try the cattails.
[Mort] I'll grab some dirt, there's a little under the sink from when I topped off the windowbox-
[Dawn] There's a bucket in the bathroom closet.
[Flux] - Do you know where the closest shop with baby stuff is Dawn?
[Mort] Fills the bucket and comes back with it.
[Yaunfen] Sticks a cattail in the dirt and makes a gracious gesture for Hg-
[HG] -gets up still holding the book he was reading and walks over ready to water it-
[Dawn] Mmmm, this is a historical district. There's all kinds of crazy shops if you just walk that way. - points- If you go the other way, there's nothign but fast food but you'll reach a mall with a ton of stuff and I'm pretty sure there's a baby store.
[Mort] Ok Hg show us what you've got.
[HG] -waters the plants-
-There's a bit of an organic groan and the cattails multiply, filling the bucket and making a very sharp peppermint smell-
[Yaunfen] Holds up the rock, again- more please?
[HG] sure -Waters the rock again-
-It wiggles a little bit, but that's all. -
[Yaunfen] Squints suspiciously at it.
[Flux] - May I see it Yaunfen?
[Yaunfen] Passes the hard chunk to her.
[Flux] Uses her magic to investigate it a  little-
-It is organic, but sloooooooow. Worse then an olive tree. -
[Flux] - It's almost like it's sleeping...
[HG] maybe it is
[Yaunfen] Nose wiggle, [because they have no whiskers at the moment] -
[Doc] Well it was a fossil, kiddo. Maybe it wasn't something well-adapted. Just don't eat it, okay? Just in case.
[Yaunfen] Okay, I won't. Probably tastes like butt anyway....
[Licht] Curses as she's once again exploded by a creeper-
-There's a bit of a flicker on the screen as if something is gliching. The summoner is still burning near the small house Licht has build at the spawn. For a moment the chat fills with garbage as the seed tries to resolve an obvious error. -
[Licht] - Are you back?
-There's a lightning strike and a groan of pain from where it hit.
[Licht] Turns her character around- You've been strangely absent
-On the ground is a woman with long orange hair, she moves a hand and makes a pained noise.
[Licht] - What the hell?
-The figure slumps and lays still, barely breathing-
[Licht] Moves closer- Hello?
-The character is unmoving and there's the smallest trickle of blood from under her hair. -
[Licht] Swats at the air over the figure-
-She flinches as if hit and painfully rolls over, blinking a bit. Her eyes are white and glowing and there's a bit of blood on her lips-

[Licht] - Can you hear me?
[???] Yesss....
[Licht] - How the hell did you get here?
[???] I don't know? But I'm not supposed to be... - She looks at her hands- an Alex?
[Licht] - What do you mean your not supposed to be?
[EAlex] Sits up and coughs. She looks down at herself- This isn't right... I should be... a Herobrine? How do I know that?
[Licht] - There's already a Herobrine...
[EAlex] There... there is? Then that's why. - she holds her head in her hands- Just my luck to manifest on a taken seed...
[Licht] - I, don't understand what you're talking about...
[EAlex] Yeah... well you're a player. I can tell by the stiff way you stand and move. You don't have to know.
[Licht] Scowls- That's what the other one said too...
[EAlex] Hey, you don't live here. Our troubles are nothing to you.
[Licht] - Maybe, but this is somehow connected to a case I am working on
[???] Appears out of a shadow- You're pathetic. Did you really think a summoner seed would be empty?
[EAlex] Makes a slight hiss of fear, but is still too weak to stand and fight.
[Licht] - There you are, will somebody please explain what's going on here?
[???] It's a war going on under your nose.
[EAlex] Is obviously afraid of him-
[Licht] - Now there's a war?  You are making no sense
[EAlex] Unless you intend to help, I'm not telling you anything.
[???] Your quarry has all the answers anyway.
[Licht] - Mr. Persson
[EAlex] The creator...
[Licht] - Yeah, I still can't figure out what he's doing or where he is
[EAlex] He made a gateway, so we could exist.
[???] You're more right then you know...
[Licht] - A gateway?
[???] Yes... he let the monsters in. - He laughs rather wickedly-
[EAlex] Is chilled to the bone and gives Licht the rather pleading look of a vulnerable woman who's realizing that a psychopath just bought her a drink.
[Licht] Sighs, she isn't sure what she should do- Look, I still have some work to do, if you need a place to stay, I've got a shelter, but not much else- She leaves the game playing in the corner of the screen and pulls up photo's of the outside of Notch's apartment, including the one involving Jeb, Yster, and CP
[???] Gives EAlex a rather vicious look and she shakes a little in fear-
[EAlex] Very quietly- Why are you doing this?
[???] Walks closer to her menacingly-  We have similar goals, you want out, I want in.
[EAlex] I just want to exist...
[???] If you're lucky, I'll let you live when I'm done...
[EAlex] Focuses in her sheer terror and the whole screen tazes sideways, she vanishes and the Herobrine looks around in confusion- Coward....
-In the very corner of Licht's screen a small head with orange hair  pops up from behind her windows bar-
[Licht] Jumps a little- What are you doing?
[EAlex] Climbs up onto the bar and smacks the windows icon- bringing up the start menu-
[Licht] Watches in confusion-
[EAlex] Opens a notepad file and starts typing- Thanks for leaving me alone with the psycho. This is why I say players don't need to know. You can just retreat and be safe.
[Licht] Types back- There's nothing I could do, I don't think I can get rid of him
[EAlex] Makes a pouting face - he is physically there.
[Licht] - So?
[EAlex] He can be hurt. I can too...
[Licht] - Look, the only reason I have this game is because it was given to me as a clue, I have no intention of continuing to play once I've solved this case
[EAlex] Blanches in fear- please don't delete that seed...
[Licht] - Why would I keep it?
[EAlex] Because then I won't be... anymore.
[Licht] - We'll see- She turns her attention back towards the photo's
[EAlex] Kicks her feet on the top of the notepad window for a few mintures and looks around at the pictures. - Wait... is that a Herobrine??? IN THE OUTSIDE???
[Licht] - What are you talking about?
[EAlex] Climbs down the side of the window, and takes a better look at the picture with Cp before pointing a shaking finger at him- That's a Herobrine....!!! A REAL one!
[Licht] Zooms in on the photo- Markus' old coworkers said that he was of familial relation to Markus...
[EAlex] No... that one isn't human....
[Licht] - Always more questions, never any answers
[EAlex] Makes a frustrated noise- But if he can get out... I have to meet him. Even if he tries to kill me...
[Licht] - I wouldn't even know how to lure him in...
[EAlex] Do you have any portable devices?
[Licht] - My phone...
[EAlex] Can you plug it into the computer please? -She shoots a look at the open minecraft window where the obviously seething brine is killing the local wildlife with abandon-
[Licht] - Sure...- It takes her a moment to find and untangle the proper cords and plug her phone into the computer- There
[EAlex] Makes a running jump at the control panel again and brings up 'my computer'. The window pops up and she vanishes into the icon for the phone. After a moment it rings-
[Licht] Picks it up-
[EAlex] Close the game! Just turn it off for now! Hurry!
[Licht] Does so- What is this about?
[EAlex] I don't know what he told you, but it was probably a lie. I can see your phone has wi-fi, so I'm just going to stay here for a while. Just please don't delete the game.
[Licht] - For now I wont

✦ — MGA4 EPISODE 2: PANEL AUDITION #4048: HA SUNGWOON ; skill: singing + playing the guitar performance: attention — charlie puth ( 0:00 - 1:29 ) [ x ] *
when the episode airs, sungwoon is lying upside-down on the couch, trying to shovel popcorn into his mouth without choking. the house is empty, he’s bored, and the sudden influx of free time summer vacation brings has him feeling some kind of way. it’s not a bad way, really. he just isn’t used to not being busy, and laziness threatens to settle into his bones like a permanent state of being. when he’s not at work, he’s parked in front of the tv, binge-watching whatever shows he can. there are more productive ways to spend his time, sure, but the tv is right there and—
he wasn’t really planning to watch the mga episode. after the auditions, sungwoon had embraced realism and come to terms with the fact that he’d be lucky if his performance aired. it wasn’t really about skill—he just knew he didn’t belong there. woojin was right; what did people like them have to do with a show like that? he only regretted he’d wasted a whole day on the process, especially since his boss kept harping on him about taking the time off. it was a good experience regardless, but he’s ready to move on and return to the comfort of empty enigma.
but that’s him—his face on screen, his height, his voice. sungwoon drops the bowl of popcorn on his face in his haste to try and sit straight. that’s him and daniel ( oh fuck, sorry daniel… and daniel’s parents ) right there on the fucking screen—through the numbing disbelief spreading through his body, he wonders if they had to point out his height like that. he should’ve worn shoelifts. i’m going to wear shoelifts next time, sungwoon thinks, because there will, apparently, be a next time: one more performance before eliminations.
( it doesn’t feel real ).
the feeling never quite fades, not as he begins practicing and trying to pull a half decent performance together, not as he stares at the messages piling up on his phone, classmates and coworkers sending him screencaps of his form. ㅎㅎㅎ hyung you’re so short makes up the bulk of their well-wishes, and sungwoon stops answering entirely after the first few days. all empty enigma practices and gigs are put on hold, but he hangs out with daniel whenever he can. after all, in the immortal words of troy bolton, they’re all in this together.
sometimes the apology for dragging daniel into all this almost spills from his mouth, but he can’t get it past his teeth in end, not wanting to draw more attention to the situation more than they already have. instead, sungwoon does his best to hype daniel up as much as possible, believing in his bandmate more than he believes in himself. daniel has that self-effacing, easy charisma wrapped around him, and sungwoon wholeheartedly trusts he’ll blow up once he has the chance to show the judges ( and the nation ) his guitar skills.
on the other hand, dejection settles over sungwoon the more he replays the mga episode. you don’t belong there, his brain yells, the part of his brain that is completely and utterly sungwoon. squall would have choice words for him ( squall’s never felt the crawling sensation of being uncomfortable in your own skin ), but squall has choice words for everything. sungwoon wishes he could talk to someone about his doubts. but he’s not willing to prove woojin right by saying anything to him, and he can’t say anything to daniel, his champion, the one person who thinks he does belong there. in the end, there’s nothing left for him to do but swallow his fears and suck it the fuck up.
sungwoon arrives at the venue with his guitar slung over his back, hair falling over his eyes as he stares through his fringe at the other contestants passing by. a lot of them radiate confidence in spades, dressed up and ready to slay up on stage. he recognizes quite a few faces from the first episode, and several of them make him bristle involuntary; talented individuals he knows are already fan favorites. one of the few perks of having a little sister who cares about this stuff is that she keeps him updated ( she’s also in love with someone named junmyeon? which, alright, cool, sungwoon is not going to get his autograph for her ).  
swallowing, he brushes his hair back and adjusts the strap of his guitar case, trying to seem busy. it’ll be alright. he knows how to perform on stage, how to fill it with his presence and command attention. if he has to borrow from squall today, he’ll do it. sungwoon just doesn’t like the idea of leaving things halfway. even if he understands he’s a fish out of water, he’ll still do the best he possibly can—for himself, if no one else. after accepting his number ( #4048: solid, sexy ), he makes his way to where the contestants are seated, heaving a sigh of relief as he realizes he’s next to daniel. good; they could both use the moral support.
the inside of the recording studio verges on overwhelming. the stage is nice, the lighting is cool, but the cameras everywhere are disconcerting. sungwoon isn’t used to being filmed constantly like this. as one zooms in on him, he gives the camera a two fingered salute and wave before it moves on. he’s going to have to get comfortable, fast, but luckily ( or unluckily, depends on how you spin it ), he’s supposed to be one of the last people to perform. that gives him some time to go over his performance in his mind… but also more time to enjoy the rest of the performances.
and there are a lot, each one of them of high quality. the dancers capture his attention the most; it’s human nature to be envious of skills you don’t have. sungwoon nudges daniel after the first of the performances and leans over. “what if i get up on stage and—” he mimes screaming into a microphone while headbanging. “d’you think one of the judges would faint in shock?” part of him is joking, but the other part wants to get up on stage and channel squall. his persona is the safest and easiest for sungwoon, after all, and he thinks squall would shine in front of the cameras, though maybe not in front of the judges.
he settles back into watching the performances, though daniel still gets to deal with the brunt of his reactions. most of which consist of sagging against in him like a deflated car dealership noodle balloon when someone particularly good performs or sungwoon hitting him in excitement or despair depending on how he’s feeling about whoever’s up on stage. there’s one person in particular he almost topples out of his chair for, mouth forming a large ‘O’ in surprise as he sees woojin’s friend ( and the empty enigma fan! ) on stage dancing to gashina, but he doesn’t think about the potential ramifications of that just yet, choosing to instead applaud as hard as he can when the kid is done.
finally, it’s his turn. “contest #4048, ha sungwoon! please come up to the stage.” brushing his hair back one last time, sungwoon gives daniel a thumbs up and a bright grin before picking up his guitar and approaching the stage. his expression is in stark contrast to the nerves he’s experiencing inside, but he’s done this enough to know how to fake it. his apprehension will fade once he’s onstage, anyway ( he hopes ). 
standing in front of his judges, he dips into a low bow and accidentally knocks his forehead against the guitar’s neck. letting out a sheepish laugh, he rubs his forehead and quickly gives his greeting. “hello everyone! i’m your resident tiny giant, ha sungwoon.” he’s poking some fun at the whole height issue—it’s better to just embrace it, in the end. “i’ll be singing charlie puth’s ‘attention’ for you today. thank you for giving me this opportunity!”
( he also whispers a quiet ‘ha sungwoon, fighting!’ under his breath because he needs the encouragement ).

sungwoon’s initial choice had been something faster, more intense, more like the music he sang on stage night after night. his plan was to bring out his electric guitar, falling right into his comfort zone and take the judges and audience by surprise. but the more he thought about it, the more it seemed… safe. his goal during the auditions had been to prove to himself that he could sing ballads too. he wanted to showcase a different side of himself. but these auditions tempted him to fall back into old habits, the style of music he was used to. but no one got anywhere by staying in their comfort zone. this wasn’t squall’s audition anyway; it was sungwoon’s. he could leech off squall’s confidence and charisma for this performance, but he didn’t want it to be about him.
so he’d chosen an english pop song with the help of his younger sister. english was not a strength, but he’d spent hours upon hours practicing his pronunciation. it’s not perfect by a long shot, but a far cry from the country hick he expected to sound like. he sings each word with care, his fingers busy with the acoustic accompaniment. the heartbroken man is a skin he can wear easily, but there’s more than heartbreak to this song: frustration, desperation, low simmering anger tied together with repressed desire. he does his best to express that with his voice, beginning slower and gentle before building up to the climax, a more frenzied style of singing to showcase the full height of the emotions.

you just want attention you don't want my heart maybe you just hate the thought of me with someone new yeah, you just want attention i knew from the start you're just making sure i'm never gettin' over you
there’s no awkwardness on stage here. sungwoon bares his heart as he sings, eyes shut, dividing his focus between the guitar and his vocals. a couple of his lines have a slurred quality to them on purpose; it’s a song he imagines is delivered after a couple of bottles of soju, involuntary and unhappily, with emotions running high. the equivalent of drunk-dialing an ex, if he had to say. he’d spent a lot of time to come to this conclusion too, but sungwoon believes he can’t sing a song properly unless he understands it.
it’s not the most dynamic stage, especially not when compared with those who can sing and dance at the same time, but he hopes his performance makes the audience—and the viewers—feel something nonetheless. music’s meant to entertain, but if it doesn’t mean something, what good is it anyway? he lays it all on the line here on stage; after all, he thinks it’s probably the last time he’ll get an opportunity like this and he doesn’t want to leave with regrets.

his voice cracks slightly under the strain of emotion in the first line; technical skill means little if you can’t emote properly. it’s an anguished plea torn from his lips almost against his will, and if he didn’t have his guitar, this is the part where he’d fall on his knees with an arm outstretched. instead, he finishes with a final oh~ and steps away from the mic, eyes fluttering open. with another quick bow ( this time making sure he doesn’t injure himself ), he returns to his seat. the minute he sees daniel, his face morphs into an ugly expression one second away from crying before he remembers the cameras are still around.
either way, he doesn’t have time to dissect his performances and his mistakes. the competition rolls on, eventually bringing daniel up on stage, and sungwoon cheers so loudly he almost keels over coughing because of the strain he puts on his throat for that. but daniel deserves it and all of his encouragement. after daniel, the performances taper off into nothing, leaving sungwoon and the rest of the contestants to self-reflect about how they did. as a perfectionist, it’s tough for him to be satisfied with anything he does, but sungwoon knows he couldn’t have done more. all of them here left a part of themselves up on that stage. how can you find fault with such raw and authentic performances?
and maybe he doesn’t belong here, but sungwoon sure as fuck made himself felt. if he goes out now, he’ll do it holding his head high.

Chapter 1
A Touch of Evil
     The fog was thick and the air was cool and crisp against the skin. For both reasons most of Ironheade made sure to stay within spitting distance of the campfire. The whole land was covered in a seemingly permanent darkness so staying close to the light was their best bet at not being ambushed by the enemy. They just needed to collect the dry ice and leave back on their mission to the Sea of Black Tears. After patrolling, the roadie made his way back to the leader of Ironheade, joining her at her side.
"Alright," he initiated, “Lets grab this ice."
The blonde cocked a brow. "Now?" A bit suspicious of the man's certainty.
"Yeah..." Eddie drifted unsurely, "My only worry is that we're not alone here." he broke apart from the woman to look around.
     Lita did the same, having the uneasy feeling of being watched. Catching a glimpse of something moving at the corner of her eye. She quickly turned to see, Eddie following suit. Slowly a dark figure arose from the ground. It took only a moment for the dawning realization to hit the two.
"Ophelia?" Lita spoke out in surprise.
     The dark haired man shook his head in disbelief and blinked. "What... happened to you?" The drowned woman's black licorice lips pulled into a chilling smile. "Do you really want to know?" and questioned as she motioned in an Organist.
     The two humans drew their weapons and went into a defensive stance against the woman. "Oh don't worry. This song only hurts me." She reassured, hanging her head in anguish. The ghostly piano player threw his hands up in the air and began to play. Lita and Eddie both seemed to stop in their tracks, as if in a trance.
     In the distance Ironheade troops paused for a moment and looked at one another before a headbanger spoke up. "C'mon lets kick those sons of bitches asses!"
     The rest of the group cheered with agreement until the Fire Baron spoke up. "Hold on, now!" he placed one foot firmly on the ground and sat up on his bike, "If any of you gets within ear shot of that organist, you're all gonna go brain dead too!"
The group murmured in agreement. "Well... what do we do then?" A different Headbanger questioned.
"Just hold up a damn minute! The song doesn't seem to be doing any harm and it has to end eventually!" he announced to the worried troops.
     They all settled down and watched intently to make sure nothing else happened. Before they knew it, the song ended and the Organist sped away before anyone could go near it. Lita was the first to snap herself out of it. She whipped around before settling her eyes on Eddie who still sat there looking off into the void.
     "Eddie... Eddie!" Lita called out to try and get his attention. It worked in breaking the roadie's focus. He shook his head and glanced around. "What... What happened to her?" he turned to the other woman who could only give a startled shrug in response.
     The Fire Baron settled back down into the seat of his bike and drove forward to meet the two disoriented leaders. Coming to a stop by them, a light that shown through the fog caught his attention. The two looked back at him then snapped to face what the Fire Baron was looking at.
     "Uh-oh." Was all the Baron could muster as they witnessed the enemy stage being rapidly built. Eddie spun back around and pointed to Mangus and the rest of Ironheade on standby. "Fire up the stage!" he commanded. As always Mangus was one step ahead and had everything ready to go to swiftly set up the stage.
     Weapons clashed, blood was spilled staining the ground. The Drowning Doom definitely had the upper hand here with the thick fog and the overwhelming sense of gloom. It was almost a stalemate as they tried to get control over the geysers. Eddie took to the skies to try and spy on Ophelia's next move. Moving closer to her end of the battle field, the roadie caught a glimpse of something glowing purple on top of the center hill of the battle field. It was one of the many Tab Slabs relics this world had placed around.
     With a smirk Eddie landed atop of the hill and approached the relic. Suddenly stopping short at the grave feeling that something was watching him. Pivoting on heel, he looked back to find his concerns were very real. Ophelia stood there idly, a large smile on her face as if she expected him to come here. The dark haired man narrowed his eyes.
"Well, I didn't expect to see you here." She spoke sarcastically.
     Eddie decided to cut directly to the chase. "Why are you doing this Ophs?" Ophelia crossed one arm over her chest and looked at her nails on the other. "Um, maybe you're forgetting the whole part where you called me traitor and left me for dead?" she shrugged.
Eddie began to sternly approach her. "I didn't leave you for dead Ophelia!"
     "Well you weren't necessarily taking my side either..." as she spoke, Eddie wasn't paying attention to how close she was getting. "But don't worry, you'll find a way to make up for it somehow." Before the roadie knew it Ophelia closed the gap between them. Grasping onto his jacket lapels and pulled him in for a bitter kiss. Eddie quickly pushed her away, backing up from her. Spitting and sputtering, trying to wipe the kiss off his lips and his mouth.
     "Ah fuck! Gross! What the hell? Definitely not how I remember that being!" he went on as he recoiled from the woman. Although at some point Eddie found himself unable to move his legs any longer. He realized his entirely body was slowly ceasing up. Panic began to set in.
"Ophelia, what have you done?" his voice tremulous. "Oh, you know," she casually flung her hair back, "just making sure you can never cross me again."
     Eddie was rapidly losing all ability to move. Before he even got the idea to scream for help, his jaw was already locked in place. With eyes turning glassy, his heart slowed back down despite the panic still apparent in his mind. Finally, his body stood slouched and motionless. The Drowned woman let out a dark chuckle, "Now, that's not the way to present yourself in front of your Queen. Stand up straight!" she commanded with a snap of her fingers. With that the disassociated man did as told and straightened up. A wide smile crept onto Ophelia's face as she tilted her head and looked him up and down. "That's better."
     "Hey guys, look!" A Razor Girl exclaimed, pointing out into the fog. The group present all craned their neck to see what was going on. Through the fog they could make out the enemy stage, bit by bit, set on fire. The stage's alarm blaring through the battle field. A confused murmur began to spread through the crowd of Ironheade warriors.
     A Thunderghog rider lifted his sunglasses and squinted ahead. "Uh... Was that us?" Lita looked down at her own walkie-talkie Eddie had given her, not recalling hearing any traffic over the line for a while. She looked back up and turned back to the Fire Barons and Zaulia. "It wasn't any of you, right?"
     "The Zaulia would not go against the orders of the Son of Riggnarok." Rima huffed, seemingly appalled she would even ask. The Fire Baron just looked down at his own bike then back to his two men. "Uh, we've been here the whole time." A loud crash caught Ironheade's attention again. The Drowning Doom's stage was briskly falling to pieces and the left over Doom scattered.
     A head banger cracked his knuckles. "Does it matter how it happened? We won!" With that he chased after a few lone Gravediggers. The group of warriors rejoiced before parting ways to go and hunt down the left overs as well.
    "Riggs must of taken care of it himself." The Fire Baron remarked, starting his engine back up. Lita smiled readjusting her grip on the halberd. Whatever happened they'll sort it out later, for now... Lita went with the Razor Girls to chase down a few Frightwigs.
     Carnage eventually came to an end as most Doom members managed to flee. Ironheade regrouped back at their own stage, briefly celebrating their apparent victory. Lita ultimately decided to comb through the crowd to find Eddie and ask what happened. After a bit of ducking through groups of people and interrupting conversations it didn't seem like the roadie had made it back.
"Yo, Mangus! Why's the stage still up? C'mon, lets get packed up and roll out!" One of the roadies called out from the crowd to the stage.
     The engineer walked out onto the stage, clearing his throat. "Has anyone seen Eddie? He... hasn't reported in for a while." The crowd became a buzz of people trying to recall the last time they saw the man.
A Headbanger started calling out into the fog. "Eddie!” He paused before calling again, “Eddie!"
The rest of Ironheade followed suit, quickly realizing he was nowhere around.
