✧ “Now that you’ve got your treat, focus. Zuko said that we needed to write General Zhao’s name in the death note before sunset.” Her eyes widened when a...well when a monster had appeared in front of you and finished off the apple

✧ “Why’re we working with that little twerp anyways?”

✧ “Cause if you want to keep eating those delicious apples, I need money. So come on.”

✧ there was a couple of things running through her mind: you were absolutely gorgeous, death notes were real, she just saw a shinigami creature, and her brother was in town

✧ she had seen you once again a couple of days after General Zhao’s sudden and untimely demise, you were at the market picking out some apples

✧ “Those apples seem like a fine choice.” You jumped at he sudden presence beside you

✧ “O-Oh well yes, they’re quite delicious.” you glanced upwards, just above her head

✧ ‘azula, 85 years’

✧ “Isn’t that the twerps’ sister?” Ryuk asked from besides you

✧ “Well I would assume so, seeing as your friend enjoys them so much.” She smirked when she saw you tense up

✧ “What?! There’s no way she can see me!” The shinigami in question crossed his arms skeptically

✧ she leaned in close to you, “I know you have a death note, I saw your friend the other day too. The ugly looking one.”

✧ “Ugly?!” Both you and Ryuk shouted in unison

✧ “Who are you callin’ ugly?!” he growled

✧ at first, Azula just wanted to use her for her own bidding but as she started to actually get to know you...she fell in love with you

✧ she learned about how the relic had been passed down to you and how you only used it on people that truly deserved it which she respected

✧ she’d always ask if you’d write her brother’s name in it, to which you always declined

✧ “You can see how long I’ll live right? How much time do I’ve got left?”

✧ “Baby, you know I can’t tell you that.” she would always pout when you said that

✧ dating you also meant she was basically dating Ryuk

✧ “Hey Azula?”

✧ “What is it Ryuk?” she didn’t bother looking up from her book

✧ “Would ya’ so me a favor and buy some apples...we ran out.”

✧ “Hmm...no.”

✧ “Oh come on~ I’ll tell ya’ how many years you’ve got~”

✧ she had never gotten up quicker in her life, of course Ryuk never told her though, claiming that he had no idea of any such deal

✧ you know what happened to her when she was younger and the psychological trauma it caused her

✧ you would 1000/10 write her dad’s name in the book and make him die a very slow and painful death

✧ a messenger hawk sent by Zuko had arrived to inform the both of you that Ozai died while in prison

✧ “Oh dear...that sounds horrible.” you patted her back, cue Ryuk chuckling somewhere in the background

✧ “You didn’t have anything to do with this (y/n)...did you?” She had a tiny smirk on her lips

✧ “Hmm? Uhm nope, no I uh-I don’t think so.” She held your face in her hands and smashing her lips against yours in a heated kiss, taking you by surprise

✧ “So, does this mean you’re not mad?” You asked as you both breathlessly pulled away

✧ “Quite the opposite really.” She sat back against the couch and pulled you onto her lap, “Why don’t I show you how I feel about it.” She held the back of your head and pulled you into another kiss

✧ “Really? You have to do that now?”

✧ “RYUK!!”

✧ “Yeah, yeah...I’ll go.”

☸ despite her disinterested attitude, she’s very interested in the notion of the death note

☸ “Where are you taking me Ty Lee?”

☸ “You’ll see.” She rolled her eyes at her bubbly friend but let herself be tugged along to Azula’s meeting room

☸ once inside, her eyes landed on the most beautiful human being she had ever seen

☸ you were lazily leaning back against the seat, feet thrown up on the table and talking to Azula about something

☸ “Oh Mai, there you are! This is (y/n), she’s gonna be apart of our team from here on out.”

☸ when you looked up, you pulled your legs off of the table and sat up straight, eyes widening and a pink tint ever so present on your cheeks

☸ both Ty Lee and Azula noticed instantly

☸ well...so did Ryuk

☸ “OOH~ look at you, somebody has a crush~” This made your cheeks a flaming read color

☸ she loved your aesthetic, even if you were in fire nation clothes, you made it look so goth/alt (lowkey Misa vibe) she also really liked Ryuk

☸ it was a mistake ever introducing the two

☸ Azula would put the two of you (again, technically three cause of baby boy Ryuk) on missions together

☸ “I know what you’re trying to Azula and it’s not gonna work, so knock it off!”

☸ “I have no idea what you’re talking about Mai.” She feigned innocence as she called you over.

☸ “Yeah?”

☸ “Oh nothing really, I was just wondering if you could go with Mai to pick up more supplies?”

☸ “Oh, of course. Sounds like fun.” When  you grinned, Mai turned a deep shade of pink

☸ she hated running errands with you because it felt so domestic

☸ she finally had enough

☸ when you were picking up some fruit, mainly apples, and placing them in your basket, she tapped your shoulder

☸ “(y/n)..”

☸ “Yes Mai?” You looked up at her with those doe eyes and she just couldn’t control herself, she gripped your chin between her index finger and thumb to tilt your head upward

☸ you blushed but didn’t make a move to get out of her grip, your eyes giving her the ‘go ahead’ and she timidly leaned down and softly placed her lips against yours

☸ her heart was beating even faster when she felt your velvety lips move against hers

☸ the two of you would be such witchy/cottagecore lesbians(or bisexuals), don’t @ me

☸ once the two of you left that toxic little group, she’d very much enjoy having her own adventures with you

☸ she’s not a very PDA person so don’t expect too much from her in public but she has no problem giving you all the kisses you want while closed doors

☸I think the both of you would have such a chill/fun relationship

☸ she would definitely bring you to the jasmine dragon for no other purpose than to show you off and make Zuko jealous

( Colin Morgan / 32 / he/him ) – ( Andrew O’Hare ) has been spotted in ravenswood. they said to originally be from ( Chicago, Illinois ) and used to work as a ( Detective Sergeant ). They’ve been in the compound for ( eight months ), working as ( patrol ) to earn their keep and since then, others have seen their ( isolating ) but seemingly ( brave ) nature.  (ANNA/CST/25+/SHE/HER)

Before.

Andrew was born to a lovely couple in Ireland. His life was great, he enjoyed his home life. Growing up in Ireland was everything to him. He had friends, his family there -- but his father wanted a change. At the age of fifteen, Andrew was hauled off to the states. Chicago Illinois to be exact; The view was completely different from Ireland. The only thing that remained the same was the fact that it was cold half the time -- Chicago being known as the Windy City did have its reasoning. However, it lacked color. 

Andrew attended school in Chicago, went to a college in Chicago and became an officer at the Chicago PD. His life was on track -- he was still planning on going back home, back to Ireland that is. That never happened, he became more focused on his work going from officer to making it to Detective to becoming a Sergeant. He had a commitment here in Chicago, so going back to Ireland and starting a family there was suddenly a pipe dream.

After.

When the virus broke out, he had been on the field working a case. It was a strange one seeing that the calls had come off as strange. Dead bodies coming to life? Andrew believed it had to be drugs. Getting to the scene changed his entire life when he saw actual bodies coming back to life. He lost his team and learned the hard way on how to kill the living dead. 

It suddenly seemed like he was in a nightmare. He instantly went home to realize his dad had been bitten while at work. Andrew thought nothing of it, just that they had to move. His mother wrapped his father up (since hospitals were going crazy) and Andrew grabbed whatever he can to evacuate. There was no word on a safe zone, the news was showing nothing but chaos. Who would have thought that the world would literally end this way? (conspiracy theorists, maybe. Andrew? Not so much.) 

His travels weren’t an easy one. Especially after losing his dad to the virus. He lost both his parents to the virus pretty soon because his mother refused to leave by his father’s side, thinking that all he needed was a reminder of who he was. Andrew couldn’t keep his mother safe and ended up putting both his parents down. 

He continued on his own, finding shelter where he could, provisions where he could. The world was suddenly an untrustworthy place to be in and he knew to keep alive he had to keep to himself. Once a man who wore an officer’s uniform now resorted to simple clothing. The only thing you can see him wearing is a neckerchief which he easily pulls up to shield himself from breathing in any toxins. At this point, he doesn’t really care what happens to him. They were all going to die anyway; 

He found himself at the gates of Ravenswood a year after his departure from his own home. It was the only place that seemed in control apart from the chaos that he’s noticed and witnessed. 

Now and Personality.

Andrew worked hard to earn his keep, proving his place at the sanctuary. He’s been tired of running, so this is as good as place as any. Personality wise, he isn’t a person that trusts easily - considering all the horrors he has seen, but that doesn’t mean he won’t give the people at Ravenswood a chance. It may not be normal, but it is the new normal and something he wants to be a part of. He’s the quiet one when people usually see him, but he’ll also be the one to strike up a conversation. He’s friendly once you get to know him -- although slightly awkward seeing that he hasn’t had proper human interaction since the outbreak. He’s lost many of his friends which causes him fear of getting close to others. 

He’s seen many horrible things in his life time - part of it being from his job, but nothing compares to the horrors he’s witnessed with people forgetting about humanity and killing or destroying others just to survive. It isn’t the world he imagined, but can’t do much about that now can we? So he’s here, trying to play his part, trying to stay alive and keep the only ones around him that actually seem sane alive and safe.

OK, here's a question for when you wanna kill some time in quarantine: For each D&D class, who is your fave character of that class in any D&D actual play?

oh INCREDIBLE question. and VERY needed. let’s do this. in alphabetical order. under a cut because fun fact there are fourteen D&D classes and i’m incapable of just saying my opinions without explaining them.

Artificer: For a second I thought I’d have to put Taryon Darrington despite not actually being up to those Vox Machina episodes yet, but then I remembered–my sweet boy! Gorgug Thistlespring! brilliantly pulling off a late-game multiclass that feels in-character, develops a side of him that had been coming out throughout the whole season, and is clutch in those last couple episodes. and got us the Hangman back! stan artificer gorgug and gorgug in general. 

Barbarian: honestly, it feels like a little early to be making proclamations like this since it’s only been 3 episodes, but King Amethar of House Rocks is up there. an old solider who loves his troublemaker daughters and misses his sisters and hates being in charge? who’s going to need to learn who he can trust and what it really means to be king? yeah…….plus i like storm herald. 

Bard: Figueroth Faeth-the-Insatiable, baby!!! power of MUSIC power of REBELLION power of FRIENDSHIP power of BISEXUALITY power of LOVE and that is how you play a BARD!!!!

Blood Hunter: i only know one blood hunter so Mollymauk Tealeaf wins by default. i think it’s how he’d want to win. 

Cleric: there are so many clerics who i love so much, but….Kingston Brown from Uptown beats them all. the quiet leadership, the devotion, the love for other people. the responsibility and the taking of responsibility. the self-sacrifice, not in grand gestures but in little things every single day. don’t get me started or we’ll be here for hours. 

Druid: Moonshine Cybin!!!! the druid by which I measure all other druids. the character by which i measure all other characters. again we’ll be here for hours if I get started talking about Moonshine but anyway things that don’t belong find a way of belonging when she’s around......

Fighter: this made me realize what a varied class fighter is. Like, Percy de Rolo and Theobold Gumbar and Fabian Seacaster are all fighters. that said, my favorite is the most beautifully basic fighter of them all, Hardwon Surefoot, who I would not have expected to be my favorite based solely on character descriptions but who rolled up in Episode 1 drinking in the sound of the fiddle and caring deeply about the Green Teens no matter how much he tried to hide it and i was in love. Monk: brief shout-out to loml sofie bikes, but it has to be Beauregard. I loved Beau from the second she stumbled into episode one as a rebellious, impulsive, self-described asshole and immediately started flirting with the first big strong woman she saw, and I have only loved her more and more the more she has grown and changed and developed. marisha ray KNOWS what she is DOING and it is a pleasure to watch her work. i love beau so much. 

Paladin: Beverly Toegold V. like, the “joke” description of Bev is “a very good boy” but like....[SPOILERS] this kid got thrown off a tower, watched his dad almost get executed, watched his home get destroyed, has been mind controlled multiple times, has almost died multiple times, saved his dad, killed his dad, watched his friends die in front of him, accidentally helped kill his own god, had to see his boyfriend dead in front of him and then watch him get kidnapped, and he is still good. he is still trying every moment to do the right thing. “what an honor. what an injustice.” 

Ranger: oh, no contest with this one, it’s Vex’ahlia. best and most underrated member of Vox Machina, lady of Whitestone, champion of the Dawnfather, glue that held Vox Machina together, good-aligned always, light of my life, queen of my heart,

Rogue: Riz!!! Gukgak!!!!!! a lawful good rogue, baby. i love detectives and i love kids who are trying so so so hard at everything all the time and i love protective characters and i love intelligent characters and i just love riz, okay? 

Sorcerer: I think it’s Pete the Plug, actually! I was high-key skeptical about Pete in the early episodes, because he really was slinging extreme power around like it was nothing, and also selling drugs to teenagers, two things which now that I type it out seem very connected. but watching his growth and development over the season, watching his relationships with Nod and Kingston and the rest of the Dream Team and the way they changed him…..yeah. Pete is very very good. 

Warlock: FJORD. i have loved this texblade from episode 1 and i love how far he has come and how many hidden depths there are to him and how he is flawed but still good and protective and loves his friends so much and is low-key holding the M9 together even if none of them realize it and. listen. i love Fjord so much. 

Wizard: and last but not least, my baby girl Adaine Abernant, who has come SO far over the past two seasons while also remaining exactly who she is. who has learned to channel her rage, how to extend forgiveness but also exact brutal revenge, how to be the Everyone Oracle. “maybe there’s hope for us yet,” indeed. (also I did seriously consider putting Alanis for this one even though she is....not a pc.....which should say something about how much i Love Her)

AVENGERS COMPOUND

UPSTATE NEW YORK

Two hours. For two hours now, the team had sat in the common room getting to know Isobel Stevens. The more Caroline heard, the less she wanted to know. A twenty-something year old surgical resident from Seattle. Moved to New York after her fiance died – she’ll admit, her heart broke hearing that one. Smokes B&H Blue. It’s still unclear to Caroline how that came to be of any importance. No dad, distant mom, and she adores Widows hair, 'it's to die for 'Tasha!’. Stark didn't want to know.

What she did want to know, however, was what the hell had happened between herself and Barnes. Caroline couldn't help the bitterness that ran through her veins. After their ‘chat’ in the lab, they'd avoided each other. Not entirely, no, their living situation didn't allow for that. He’d sat with her when she was in the med bay, he’d been there for herself and the girls after their last mission. But she’d hired FRIDAY to keep constant tabs on him, just to make sure there were no surprises. Their encounters were friendly enough; they'd exchange small talk and they'd smile, and it was fine.

As unattractive as she knew it was, Caroline couldn’t bring herself to warm to his girlfriend. Pretending to get along with the Isobel wasn’t an option she was willing to go with, until she felt a stern pair of eyes glaring at her. The look on Wanda’s face told her she was acting unreasonably, despite the Maximoff girls understanding of her friend’s situation. Plastering on the best fake smile she could manage, Caroline pulled herself away from the edge of the sofa and took a place closer to the rest of the team. Ignoring the looks from Sam and Steve, she laughed along with the rest as if nothing was wrong.

 ONE WEEK LATER

Isobel was delightful, apparently.

“She’s great, Care. You should give her a chance.” The scowl received in response sent Barton running.

“I get it, Caroline. I do. But she isn’t going anywhere. This needs to stop.” Whilst Natasha’s words were true, that didn’t mean Stark wanted to hear them. Staring at the ground, she only nodded, unable to trust herself to hold it together if she looked up at the Black Widow.

It didn’t help matters that Isobel was trying quite a lot with Caroline. It led her to believe Bucky had kept quiet about whatever weird friendship they had. The Stark girl felt bitter and petty and mean, but she couldn't help it. Tight-lipped smiles and brisk conversations were enough for her at the moment.

“I’m not being mean, Sam. I offer her tea and I greet her with a smile. I use my manners and I only ever tell her to shut up in my head.” The soldier’s resolve melted away and he couldn’t help but laugh at her candour.

“Okay, okay.” Pulling the girl in for a hug, she sighed. Before Sam could continue, approaching footsteps could be heard in the distance. Sam's face dropped, and his body tensed.

“On your left.” Steve passed by the pair quickly, leaving Falcon to sprint after him, a string of curses leaving his mouth as he did so.

 THAT EVENING

“Have you had a look?" Wanda, Caroline, Bucky, and Sam all sat around the table in the common room. A film was playing in the background, but it had long since lost their attention.

Rolling her eyes but turning her head anyway to look at the Scarlet Witch, Caroline nodded. Pulling her phone from her pocket, she tapped and scrolled until she found what she was looking for. Handing the device to her friend, she sighed.

“Yes. Her name is Lola. We’ve got a cocktail date in an hour.” Wanda squealed and high-fived Sam who only looked confused.

“Wait, catch me up here?” Leaning in between the two to look at the picture of the girl on her screen, Sam whistled.

“Damn, Care. You got good taste. I didn’t know you were dating anyone.” Blushing furiously, her phone was locked and put away before anymore comments could be made. Sam only laughed, and his eyes landed on the sulky super soldier. If he saw the look of heartache on his friend’s face, he said nothing - much to Barnes’ relief.

“I am going to get ready. No more talk of this." Pointing her finger at the two on the couch, Caroline tried to seem stern and serious, but her smile betrayed her. Wandering out of the room, she fought to control her breathing. Why Wanda had brought that up in front of Barnes was beyond her. It also troubled her that he'd stayed entirely silent throughout the whole exchange. But that was none of her business now.

"Mr Wilson, Miss Maximoff, Miss Stark has returned home." Cringing as they heard numerous doors slamming loudly, the pair nodded and jumped to their feet. They'd heard the car door first, and safely assumed that it'd need reattaching before Pepper saw it. Sam headed to the kitchen and grabbed the largest wine glass he could find, whilst Wanda waited by the door patiently, a sympathetic smile on her face.

Caroline marched in after her date, dressed to the nines. The only indication that it'd gone poorly was the violent scowl etched onto her face. The nude midi dress clung to her figure, highlighting her curves, the red of her lips standing boldly against the soft material. Her Jimmy Choo clad feet took her straight to the kitchen, Wanda right behind her.

“You wanna talk about it?” Sam’s deep voice soft and inviting, he was an expert in coaxing the deepest emotion out of his teammates. Holding out the glass to her, he shrugged as Caroline brought the wine bottle straight to her lips, foregoing the glass all together. It was going to be a long night.

“It’s only ten ‘o’ clock, why’re you home so early? Talk to us, Care." A soft pleading came from a voice behind her. Upon hearing Steve, she knew she’d been cornered. Evading questions from not one, but three avengers just wasn’t going to happen.

“Where to start, eh? I walked in, we ordered drinks. Chatted for a while, it was fine, you know?” Pausing to take another swig of wine, Caroline couldn’t calm her nerves. “The drinks were flowing, I guess she got a bit more confident or whatever-"..."she told me I was gorgeous, that she couldn’t believe how lucky she’d got.” A few nods and murmurs of agreement came from the room, and a hint of a smile briefly appeared on her lips before dying off again. “Normally, she doesn’t go for bisexuals, she said. Bisexuals can be hard to trust, they should just commit to one gender, she said.”

 Surveying the room, her eyes landed on a lurking shadow. Barnes. Assuming he came in when Steve did, she just rolled her eyes at his complete lack of sensitivity.

“It got worse from there. She knew who I was, I hadn’t tried to hide it or anything. But then-“ laughing bitterly, sadness exploding in brown eyes “- then she told me what a shame it was that my dad was dead. So sad that he could save the world, but he wasn’t quite good enough to save himself too.” A silent tear fell down her face, but she made no move to acknowledge its presence.

“Bitch.” Maximoff only spoke the one word, before pulling out another bottle of wine and helping herself to a glass. “Wanna go dancing? I can pull an outfit together in half an hour?” With wide eyes and a desperate look, Caroline nodded her head fiercely. Without another word, Wanda headed off to get ready.

After a few kind words from Sam and Steve, they headed off to bed, a looming mission requiring extra sleep. Bucky had barely made his presence known, but now they were alone she didn't feel wrong for calling him out.

“What're you doing, Buck?" Falling down to the sofa with a huff, she patted the spot next to her, silently requesting him to sit with her.

“Sorry, Care. I didn’t want to interrupt, I came in to get a drink, but you were talking, and I didn’t want you to stop and hide it because I'd shown up." Letting her head lean gently against his shoulder, his arm instinctively wrapped itself around the girl and pulled her ever so slightly closer.

“I didn’t even want to go on the date, you know? Wanda suggested it, said at the very least I’d get laid.” An emotionless chuckle slipped from her lips, but she didn’t miss the way he tensed up as she spoke. His body language stirred such a violent mixture of emotions within her head, her heart, her stomach, that she almost felt sick. He had a girlfriend; what did he care what she was doing?

“You deserve so much better than anything that dumbass chick had to offer. You don't even like blondes, doll. Don’t force it, either. Stuff like this- like love. It finds you, ya know?" The silence that followed was deafening. The question on the tip of her tongue could do a lot of damage, but she couldn't stop herself.

“Has it found you?" Caroline didn’t mention Isobel’s name, she didn’t have to. Lifting her head up slowly, Caroline turned to face the supersoldier. Had his eyes always been so blue? As her eyes wandered all over his face, it dawned on her how close they were. As if threatening to tear straight out of her chest, her heart thundered away, blood rushing through her veins with such force she could almost hear it.  Looking into his eyes, wide and so, so clear, all rational thought completely left her. Vibranium fingers reached up, just barely grazing her cheek. His touch so soft she wasn’t sure she’d really felt it. Eyes fluttered shut, long lashes delicate on glittery cheekbones-

“Miss Stevens is requesting your location, Sergeant Barnes. Shall I tell her where you are?" Upon hearing FRIDAYs voice, they tore themselves apart. Soft touches and longing gazes now burning like fire. The flurry of emotions became too much too quickly, and Caroline left the room in a violent hurry, suddenly all the more desperate to take Wanda up on her request.

 THREE DAYS LATER

Rogers was doubled over, laughter tearing from him uncontrollably. Caroline struggled to breathe, tears streaming down her face as she attempted to quieten her giggles. After watching the video over and over again. Sam grew frustrated, snatching Stark’s phone from her hand.

“It is not funny. I saw the door, but I tripped. I tripped, damn it!”

“What’s so funny?” The familiar voice set a thousand butterflies free in her stomach. They died, however, the second she turned to look at Bucky. His hand was planted firmly on Isobel's waist, the girl dressed in one of his hoodies. Bucky took a seat next to Caroline, and Isobel took her seat right on top of him. Any trace of a smile fell quickly from Caroline’s face, her eyes meeting Sam's.

“Sorry if we were too loud last night guys; I can’t help it with this one.” Steve coughed uncomfortably, his cheeks turning a light pink at the mention of his friends extra curriculars. Caroline’s eyes remained fixed on Sam, until his eyes widened almost comically, causing her to turn around. As though she was winded suddenly, her stomach ached horrendously, and she took a moment to remember to breathe. The sergeant didn’t seem to notice however, as he was otherwise occupied shoving his tongue down the blonde’s throat. Tears pricked at the scientist’s eyes, and she was up and out of her seat in a second, Sam hot on her heels.

“Really?” Bucky pulled away just long enough to see the look of disgust on Steve’s face. Whispering something to his blonde companion, she jumped up and headed to the kitchen.

“What?” He spat, scowling at his Captain.

“In front of her? Seriously?” Barnes’ face softened, guilt seeping into his expression.

“She’s been so off with me recently. I don't get it."

“You don’t get it? Are you serious?” Steve rarely got involved in compound drama, but he truly thought Bucky was crossing a line. It hurt him to see Caroline so upset, and he was irritated by his friend’s blatant stupidity. Before Barnes could reply, Isobel landed back in his lap, a smile on her face that told Steve she was incapable of reading the room. He left the two alone, walking off with a huff.

“Sammy, why would he do that? Why would he do that to me?” Falcons heart broke, and he pulled the girl into his embrace. Raking his hands through her hair, he could only wonder what had gotten into the Winter Soldier.

“He’s an idiot, Care. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” As Steve approached the two, he didn’t mention the fight that seemed to have erupted in the other room.

 TWO WEEKS LATER

In the two weeks that had passed, Isobel had managed to cram her tongue down her boyfriend’s throat whilst in Caroline’s presence on two more occasions. On the plus side, it seemed that Barnes had significantly reigned in the PDA, pushing her away gently both times. Apparently, Bucky had kicked off after the first time after Steve’s scolding; not that Caroline had stuck around long enough to witness it.

After a last-minute briefing, the Stark girl had volunteered to go on a solo mission. With both Wanda and Natasha away themselves, she was finding herself feeling bored and without company more often than she'd like. It couldn’t hurt to have some time away from the insufferable Barnes and his insufferable girlfriend. Caroline knew she was being dramatic, she simply didn't care.

It was a two-day mission in London; an undercover reconnaissance trip. Easy. It seemed she was more comfortable behind the scenes; updating tech, stitching wounds, and providing them with the means to succeed. But Steve had insisted she train up at the very least - and she couldn’t find a good enough reason to decline.

After suiting up and bidding goodbye to Captain Rogers, Stark boarded the jet and settled in, intending to spend the flight clearing her head and prepping thoroughly for the mission. Nerves settled in her stomach, knocking her slightly sick. The legacy left behind by her father was an impossible one to live up to. How could she even try? Iron Man saved the world, and then he did it again, and again. Sacrificing his life for the universe. And here she was, fretting over a two-day mission; worst case scenario? She gets roughed up a bit.

"We're approaching London base, Boss.“ FRIDAY had taken to using the moniker she'd used for Tony. Another reminder that she had the weight of the world on her shoulders.

 THE NEXT DAY

The recon had been a success. Posing as an agency worker had been a breeze, and the company really needed to upgrade their firewall; it’d taken her minutes to access the mainframe, and from there she could let her gadgets do all the work. Stark just had to buy herself time.

In the midst of this, however, she’d noticed an issue with her communications tech. It was her own fault really, putting too much faith in the half-tested prototype. Deciding that she’d be fine without contact home for a day or two, she forgot about it and continued with her work.

Landing the jet with confidence, Caroline headed straight for the common room.

“I don’t know. We lost her yesterday, around five. Nobody has heard anything.” Sam’s voice echoed through the corridor, the girl followed the sound until she found him and Bucky hovering outside Steve’s office. Bucky was pacing frantically, vibranium tangled up in deep brown locks.

“Who’d you lose?” Both boys turned instantly to face her. Pulling Sam in for a sideways hug, she was barely able to wrap her arm around the man before she was torn from his arms and engulfed in a bone crushing hug.

“You went offline. What happened? Are you hurt? Why did you go offline? We were worried, damn it!” Barnes spoke quickly, a harsh whisper in her ear. Confusion enveloped her; it hadn’t occurred to her that it could spark a panic. It was a simple mission, and she hadn’t had to engage once. But the fear in Bucky’s voice shocked her, and she returned his embrace slowly.

“M’sorry, Buck. It was just recon, I didn’t think you’d worry so much.” Muttering her words into his neck, Stark tried to calm his breathing, forgetting for a moment everything that was between them. "It's okay, Buck. I’m here. I’m fine. You’re okay.” Deciding to let the two have their moment alone, Wilson excused himself silently.

“Babe?"

As if being burned by fire, he pulled away from her quickly. Isobel approached, a frown on her face. Caroline couldn’t meet her gaze; nothing had happened, but the last thing she wanted to do was give the girl reason to be mad at Bucky.

“You ditched me for this?” Her tone full of distaste, frown lines deepening. “We were in the middle of a movie. She’s alive, can we go now?” But Bucky’s eyes were trained on Caroline. Feeling her face growing hot, the scientist pulled her eyes away, beginning to slowly back away from the pair.

“I need to go debrief. Nice seeing you.” She didn’t ask what happened after she left.

 LATER THAT NIGHT

“What about her? She's cute." Eyes following the curvy redhead to her right, Sam laughed at his friend’s ability to concentrate.

“Redheads aren’t my thing, Care. You on the other hand seem to have a soft spot for 'em." Rolling her eyes at his insinuation, Caroline gestured for the bartender to keep the drinks flowing. "C'mon, you're usually a better wing-woman than this! What’s up with you?” Cocking her head to the side, the Stark girl squinted her eyes and stared him down.

After a moments silence and a broody look shared between the two, Sam spoke up again.

“They broke up. He dumped her.” Words failed her entirely, so she reached for the two shots of tequila the bartender had placed in front of her. Pausing as she offered one to Sam, she quickly drew her hand back, throwing them both back. The liquor burned, but she welcomed it.

“What about the dark-haired chick across the bar who’s been eyeing you up all night?” Wilson’s head span around so fast she worried he’d hurt himself. The low whistle that left his lips told her that this mission was also a success.

“What’re we watching? It’s three am, you know?”

“Eternal sunshine. Me and Sam got back but I didn’t wanna sleep yet.” Tugging the blanket tighter around herself, Caroline pulled her feet up to her chest  to allow Bucky room to sit.

“I know he told you.”

"It's none of my business, Sarge.” Stopping him short, she tried to stand her ground. He owed her nothing, not an explanation, not a reason, nothing. But she asked anyway. “Why’d you do it?”

Inhaling sharply, the soldier reached out and grabbed the girl’s legs gently, setting them down across his lap. Tequila fuelled thoughts scorched Caroline's mind as the silence grew longer, tension thick and heavy.

“She said I had to choose. Her, or you." Eyes were trained on the film but fingers, both metal and flesh, worked at the soft skin of her feet. "Apparently our friendship is weird, and inappropriate." Neither of them made a comment to deny it; how could they, when weeks earlier they'd almost crossed a line they couldn't return from on the very sofa they sat on now.

“I chose you, if you hadn’t figured it out. I dunno what it means, but I’ll always choose you, Caroline.”

things about my interpretation of tony stark. updated june 07, 2020.

here’s my exhaustive explanation for how i am not canon-compliant with the events and characterization of the mcu.

the reason for this is… well, there are several reasons, but i don’t want to stir shit up or just, in general, stomp on anyone else’s love for the mcu. and don’t get me wrong— i do love the mcu! but there are parts i’m critical of for personal reason, as we all have opinions on certain things. bc, yeah, you can love something, or someone, and still be logically critical about it or them.

anyway, here’s where my interpretation differs…

as per stated on my rules: i take inspiration for tony from multiple sources, including the mcu, marvel comics, the television show: avengers assemble, and my own personal headcanons. TONY IS ALSO ASIAN (SPECIFICALLY CHINESE) AMERICAN!!

i will admit that saying this isn’t particularly helpful if people don’t know, specifically, where i differ in terms of my interpretation of our dumbass genius. some of this info is scattered about on my blog, but here, it’s all consolidated into one post.

chen kun is my face claim, and i do use stuff from tony’s story from the mcu as a base. however, there are events and moments from the movies, that i selectively ignore due to personal preference; and then i build on top of my foundation with ideas, themes, and/or events from other sources such as the aforementioned sources listed above.

throwing this all under a read more because, like i said: exhaustive list. very. very. very fucking long. i’m serious– read at your own risk.

howard stark was an extremely abusive and absent father for all of tony’s childhood; tony did actively seek attention and approval from howard because he was rather aware of how famous he was and wanted the acceptance and validation from his dad; there wasn’t much shown in the mcu regarding his relationship with his father, but my inspiration for his father-son relationship comes from the comics;

an example of his verbal abuse: “you don’t want to be a sissy, now do you? stark men are made of iron!” (Iron Man, 1968);

an example of early exposure to alcohol: at age five, howard forced a drink into tony’s hand (which he did drink), stating that it would teach him “to be a man,” and that it’d “put hair on your chest” (Iron Man, 1968);

yes, this means that tony ‘forgiving’ howard in endgame is completely chucked out the window;

tony loses his parents the night of december 16, 1996 (not 12/16/1991), at the age of seventeen;

jarvis, the family butler, was more of a father to tony than howard ever was, and yes, this is why he names his first fully-functioning AI system jarvis;

tony was close with his mother, maria; she was his safehouse, and she taught him to be gentle and loving, and she also taught him the piano, which tony still periodically practices during his own time in private. in an avengers assemble episode, there is a piano in the tower that tony protects twice, which i reckon is because it has connections to his past with maria;

tony ain’t an old grandpa. i don’t see him being older than, like, 35–40 in the present time for my writing (chen kun is 44). this comes from comic and avengers assemble inspiration, which has been fairly ambiguous since they never mention his age. for plotting purposes in the mcu though, yes, he can be like 42–52 if needed.

tony is, by default, single unless otherwise stated. the reason for this is simply because i’m not big on tony / pepper in the mcu, and it’s not because i don’t like pepper (i love her as a character as an individual), but i just saw that the way they were written (so, this, yes, blames the mcu writers) was completely trash; they sort of redeemed it in endgame, but... in general, they had a lot of potential but then some writing choices pretty much ruined the ship for me;

this means that morgan does not exist unless otherwise specified and discussed, though i do enjoy the concert of tony being a dad to his own kid and breaking that cycle of howard’s shitty parenting;

i’m going to be as honest and transparent as i can: i do, for certain, love writing stevetony. they’re my primary ship. not simply in mcu dynamics, but from the comics and avengers assemble. however, like some can attest to, i will never force a ship on anyone. if you express no interest in them romantically? that’s fine. we can write them simply as good friends and comrades. i won’t stop writing or plotting with you if you don’t like them in a romantic dynamic. if you do like it that way? cool. i know it might be intimidating to discuss this given i look like complete trash for them, but i never choose who i will/will not write with based on whether we ship or not;

tony, publicly, hints toward being bisexual and biromantic a lot of the time as he’ll practically flirt with anyone at all times, but he never really openly admits it due to his oh-so ancient internalized homophobia (thank you for that one, howard and societal expectations of the time);

justin hammer is a long time rival in the industry, and often meddles with tony and his work all the time. it’s nothing new. the lack of foundation established in IM2 doesn’t provide much insight into their relationship. long story short (taken from avengers assemble): hammer is a punk bitch who’s jealous and tony is tired of him and will gladly beat his ass any day of the week whenever he drives a tank into his front door (which happens more often than not).

tony is fantastic with children. he loves getting to interact with children because he knows how excited they are to see him and/or iron man (seen in both the mcu and in the comics). this type of attention he’s okay about. if he can inspire children to do good things and be good people and be heroes in their own right, then he’s doing his job;

tony fosters the intelligence and dreams of bright individuals all the time by offering scholarships for high school graduates and post-secondary students, and also provides internship opportunities (equal opportunities regardless of race, sex, gender, religion, disability status, age, etc.)

we only see this occur with peter and harley in the mcu, but there are other kids— like riri williams! tony sees these kids for the bright minds that they have and he wants to help them and keep them safe as he knows these are the brains of the future.

let me run over iron man 3. like i said, i ignore some shit from the movies. tony doesn’t initiate the clean slate protocol, he doesn’t throw the arc reactor into the ocean, and he doesn’t remove the arc reactor from his chest. he will get surgery to get the shrapnel removed because if i were the follow the pain that comes with the comics, tony would literally be always on the verge of death at all times, requiring a chest plate to be recharged constantly to make sure the shrapnel doesn’t get closer– see? that’s a lot and i’m... lazy.

the reason for those choices are simple: clean slate protocol undoes his character progression;

the arc reactor is just a part of him as a person, stands as his heart;

avengers movie nights, (video/board) game nights, and training days exist and you will never be able to pry that out of my hands. tony always shows up fashionably late with coffee and pays for when shit gets broken by thor. team building exercises exist plenty within avengers assemble, including the fact that they share chores and decides who gets to do the next load of laundry from whoever chooses the short stick from the bunch.

tony has had anxiety and depression since he was a child. it just didn’t really flare up and get identified as a real, tangible mess of emotions and thoughts until he’d been kidnapped (and nearly died, at that). it got worse when he failed to address it until after IM3. into the present-day, tony deals with anxiety, depression, and PTSD all the time, but has improved (…sort of) when it comes to handling all of it, and certainly has grown to recognize similar symptoms in the people he cares about;

on another hand, tony has displayed symptoms of ADHD, but it’s not officially diagnosed, and some of these symptoms include, but are not limited to: hyperactivity (staying awake for days on end) and hyperfocus (hyper-focus on work), distractible (easily distracted when he’s not focused on something), rambling (talks a lot and often makes rather intuitive connections due to how busy his brain functions), impulsivity and recklessness (self explanatory), constant need to move around and/or do something (in meetings, he will be moving somehow, whether it’s tapping fingers or feet, or shifting around in his seat);

there are days where he feels inferior due to how human he knows he is (in comparison to most of his team), and other days, he feels as though he’s more machine than he is man. these feelings fluctuate depending on how he’s doing with his mental health, and/or if he hears and/or sees anything about him that points toward either idea;

there is always overwhelming guilt for those he can’t keep safe or people that die; tony doesn’t like to kill anybody (unless it’s robots, because… they’re robots, not human lives); though, if pushed far enough with no other choice, he will throw conventional morality out the window for the sake of protecting all that he believes to be for the good of the world;

tony isn’t jacked. he isn’t captain america fit, but he isn’t particularly thin, either. his body is sort of like a runner’s build (for visuals, refer to valerio schiti’s comic art of tony). i interpret tony’s body as a slight bit slimmer. he exercises, and being in the suit also is its own form of exercise. god forbid we discuss his eating habits, though. and–– he also isn’t short short, but he isn’t tall, either. he sits at 5’10”, which might be a little below the average male, but that’s about it.

speaking of eating habits, simply put: tony can’t cook for shit and that’s it. he’ll try to cook for his significant others’ on the occasion, but he can’t be blamed if he burns everything.

tony isn’t ‘woke’ or perfect, as it’s imperative to remember he grew up as rich and with financial and some social class privilege (since he was rich), despite the abuse and harassment he experienced during his youth. it’s taken him time to recognize this, and he realizes it really doesn’t cost anything to be a better person, which is why he tries to be better when it comes to his tone of voice when discussing certain topics he has no authority to be speaking of, and by taking action with simple manual labour when it comes to chores (so he doesn’t hire other people to do shit for him). he also knows he can’t be a man of ‘all bark and no bite’ when it comes to supporting people and causes, hence why he actively advocates for female and youth empowerment through both words and actions.

in regards to ca:cw events, i would prefer to ignore them. for specific-plotting purposes, this can be dropped, but i prefer the events of avengers assemble when it comes to ‘civil war’. it’s actually really simple:

tony was not honest about his intentions with the team regarding a robot that was initially made for him by howard, which ended up with an ultron reboot that nearly risked loads of civilian lives and the team’s lives;

steve confronted tony about it when they returned back to avengers tower. with tony’s insistence that everything was now fine, steve decided to resign due to tony’s dishonesty and lack of trust in the team;

this splits the team in half, where steve takes— well, they decided to leave since they didn't like tony's lack of honesty— natasha, the hulk, and the falcon to work under SHIELD as the ‘secret avengers,’ and tony, clint, and thor remain as leftover avengers (later with the addition of ant-man and temporarily, spider-man, in some missions);

in the end, they all join back together after learning to appreciate their differences and reconciling under the fact that there wouldn’t be any more secrets that could risk the world, and the team’s safety;

if i am to follow the events of the mcu— between ca:cw and infinity war, he develops nanotech for his armour, which is embedded into his very skin to accommodate for nanobots, which interacts via neural transmissions (visuals here);

tony recognizes that he lost his temper and let his emotions get to him in the moment, which fucked up shit that could’ve been talked through and fixed;

tony is an alcoholic. he recognizes that he always will be, though he’s always working toward sobriety. he certainly relapses every so often when things are rough and he feels as if he has no other options, but he’s aware that relapsing is part of the process of recovery. he has attended AA meetings (alcoholics anonymous), and has been AA sponsors for people in the past;

to skim through the events of infinity war and endgame should these be part of the things you’re curious about (this is getting really long and i’m sure you’re tired of reading this—how have you gotten this far?):

after returning from space, tony took a few months (~ five) to recover from those three months of malnutrition, dehydration, and the wound of thanos’ stab. tony sealed the front of his injury, but he sure as hell wasn’t seen dealing with the back end. during this time, he’s able to regain some muscle mass;

he lives on his own, retreating to the cabin to escape from the responsibilities of being a fallen hero who ultimately failed the people he was supposed to protect.

during the five year gap, he keeps in contact with the other avengers, but very rarely. they’re the only ones who know where he lives;

like i said— tony does not say any of that forgiving bullcrap to howard. victims of abuse don’t have to forgive their abuser, parent or not. let’s just imagine the entire interaction didn’t happen at all;

tony doesn’t die;

he used the infinity stones; but, to maintain consistency with what the mcu established w/ thanos: he sustained significant damage to his right arm, up to the shoulder and neck. it’s gravely scarred. the overall function of that arm also diminished greatly. vision out of his right eye is not as sharp as it once was, either;

a year of recovery and physiotherapy later, tony decides to amputate and go for a prosthetic. he works with shuri and wakandan tech to build an arm;

despite the end of the looming, world-ending thread, tony still battles resurfacing trauma. not every day is happy, but he is working toward recovery. there are days he doesn’t remember chunks of what happened due to the power of the infinity stones; sometimes, he doesn’t even want to remember it, anyway;

tony retires. sort of. for the most part. if the world really needs iron man, he’ll be there;

tony may have handed CEO-ship to pepper, but he still handles a lot of work for stark industries, and that’s what he primarily does post-endgame.

FAMILY HISTORY

kylie castillo is 2nd generation American, meaning that both pair of her grandparents immigrated to the United States a looong time ago from Mexico, and both her parents grew up in the USA. 

Her dad, alejandro castillo grew up in Los Angelos, California working to be a big time soccer player, and he got scouted but he ended up playing for MEXICO, and when he wasn’t playing for the official team, he played for Barcelona FC. So her dad made a name for himself in soccer. 

Her mom, lupe castillo molina grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She went to school and started up her own fashion brand, it was small and slowly growing as she was working as a seamstress for different companies all over Chicago. It took awhile to take off, but it did, and she had a shop in Spain bc she was illegal in the US and it was easier to stay in Spain and gain citizenship. ANYWAY, her shop blew up in Europe before getting big in the US. 

Both met in Barcelona where lupe was just a fan. it suddenly became more after they got pregnant, and after they married with their first child they decided to settle in Chicago. 

They were together until Kylie was 12 years old and her mom started seeing angelo altera, eventually marrying him for a few years. This means that she’s step siblings with lennon james and elissa altera! 

That marriage didn’t last that long, so right now both her parents are single, separated and living in different households that share the same customs. EXCEPT, kylie’s mom and dad seem to be sorta reconciling~

WHO IS KYLIE CASTILLO?

kylie was born in Chicago and she had a pretty normal childhood. she grew up in a house with her parents, siblings and grandparents under one household, growing up with hispanic traditions. She grew up speaking latin american spanish meaning she’s bilingual and is 100% PROUD of her ethnicity even though she has been told the typical slurs from ignorant people, but you know, it happens. it’s really only made her stronger as a person.

kylie has always been the closest to her dad and he implemented not just in kylie but in all of his kids that if you work hard you can achieve anything. to not let anyone tell you that you can’t do things. this was especially true with sports. ofc having a soccer player for a dad, kylie was automatically interested in soccer, all of her siblings were and are. they were known as the sports family on the block.

while her dad taught her sports and to toughen up in any situation, by no means does this mean she was a tomboy. she can play a game of soccer in 6 inch heels. if you don’t think so, she’ll prove it to you! So while her soccer interest grew, her mom would introduce kylie to clothes, makeup, cooking. all of that stuff so kylie always knew to be presentable. ‘let them judge you by what you wear so you can prove them wrong with who you are.’ is one of a thousand quotes her mom would tell her about life.

even if kylie grew up comfortable and in a good position, her parents instilled the value that you gotta work hard to get what you want. if you don’t implement blood, sweat and tears, you haven’t earned it. When her parents broke up, she went on a rebellious streak, more of a streak than the one she’s always on. she had family that weren’t the safest but for kylie it was safe. so she got involved with some shady characters, and she’s done some stufffffffffff. hmu if you wanna know more. FKJGHDFKHGJ that went on for awhile, she was wildin and she settled into her new home with her step siblings and step dad. 

Kylie is still very much closer to her dad than her mom but she loves them both, bouncing between houses and states (since her mom lives in NYC now) to hang out with each of them often. 

In a grand total, she’s a problem child that just likes to have fun. 

CAREER

There was at one point where she wanted to be a soccer player like her dad but for a women’s team. although there were times growing up where she would definitely show guys she could kick their asses in the sport. she still can! 

When her dad found out what she wanted, he made sure and he worked with her everyday to make her a better player, EXCEPT, kylie overworks herself, A LOT, even when her dad didn’t schedule practices. it didn’t work out for her in the end because during a game she really messed up her knee where she had to give up the sport.

She was DEVASTATED, and she moped for about a day before she found something else, which was makeup. She actually rlly slowly got into it, watching tutorials, practicing on her lita’s, siblings, tia’s, mom, etc. By networking through her mom’s connections, she landed a couple of gigs to do makeup for a couple of backstage things and movie productions. she was getting around to a lot of stuff.

For awhile she was an MUA, and works with a lot of different people. she doesn’t care who you are as long as you’re chill, but then she wanted to try something different and went into music. She is step siblings to lennon james, and there is a lot of musical influence in her life, so of course she was going to dip into that. 

Her style of music is primarily in spanish, targeting that market and since it’s being big in the US, she’s definitely one of the prominent artists since she’s one of the few born in America that makes this type of music. So currently she’s working out stuff with music, working on collaborations, and then doing things in other fields.

DEATH OF LOVED ONE: Each loss feels like a personal defeat for Steve so it’s twice as bad. But after losing pretty much everyone he’s ever cared about (even if Bucky came back) it doesn’t hurt as much as it used to. DIFFICULT GAME/MATH/ETC: That’s something that gets tossed aside until he has time to work it out, or send it to someone that can solve it quicker. INJURY: Steve gets injured and doesn’t realize it until after the mission is over like every time they go out. However, if one of his team gets injured, he’s taking down whoever hurt them. Some notes on my characterisation of Teddie

retreading some old ground from previous blogs but hopefully it’s better than before because i’m always getting better grasps on my muses as time goes on so pwease read with an open mind  .✫*ﾟ･ﾟ

So while my characterisation is mostly based on the english localisation of the games and anime because that’s what i’m most familiar with, i feel like teddie comes across differently than may have been intended due to dub changes. i kind of viewed him the way i do when i first played, learning about the dub changes mostly just confirmed some things about my interpretation. like of course i changed my mind about some things but so you know where I’m coming from

So something that didn’t translate very well was Teddie’s humor. He’s constantly making bad jokes that the rest of the Investigation Team doesn’t respond to. This isn’t because they’re uncomfortable with his jokes, even when they’re a bit perverted. He’s not a jerk who keeps making bad jokes that make people uncomfortable, and the Investigation Team aren’t jerks for not explaining to Teddie that it’s not okay or anything, since he’s new to human customs. It’s because he’s looking to bring others into his comedy routine with any kind of reaction, positive or negative, and the only way to discourage him is to not respond. When someone makes a bad pun, groaning and complaining about it is part of the humor they’re going for. It’s like that.

The reason this was translated poorly is because Teddie was specifically mimicking a Japanese comedy style. I kinda always saw it as dad jokes kind of humor, but learning about the original intentions made it click.

This isn’t to say Teddie never does anything perverted. Almost, honestly maybe every, Persona male acts like a pervert, contrives scenarios to provide fanservice to the player/viewer, sexually harrasses female characters for comedy or just because the writers think it’s normal. What I’m saying is, this isn’t a Teddie problem. It’s a Persona problem. I’m not excusing his actions but I don’t think he should be held to a different standard than other characters who do the exact same things. I also really hate when people call Chie (and/or the other girls) an abuser because she physically hurts the boys, because again that’s not a Chie (or other girl) problem, it’s a Persona problem with how the comedy tries to be this slapstick thing on occasion. Like I hope where I’m coming from makes sense when I say that?? No I’m not say it’s okay for Teddie to try to grope Rise, or for Chie to kick Yosuke, and similar moments. I’m acknowledging that these moments are part of the game’s humor, they’re anime characters engaging in anime nonsense in an 11 year old game. It’s bad faith criticism to judge a single piece of media or a single character by ignoring the tone of the work they’re in, holding them to the standards of the real world and also ignoring the same problems exist within similar works (for example w/ persona 4 you need to consider it within the context of other anime, other video games, all forms of media that may have directly influenced it, the state of the world (politically & pop culture wise) at the time (2008), etc., persona 4 does not exist in a vaccumn) and that exist in other characters within the same work. It’s not helpful in explaining why their behaviour and/or why making light of it/normalising it can be harmful because you aren’t examining why it’s written the way it is. Teddie’s character arc is not linear. He doesn’t consistently get better, and he is in fact at his most obnoxious in my opinion during the Yasogami High Culture Festival. Since his arc is about maturity, this is like his ‘rebellious stage’ where he’s a brat before growing up more, after having grown up a lot in the months before the festival. However, I can’t accept his characterisation in Persona Q. He’s pushed too far and ‘flanderized’ ike a lot of the Persona characters are in spinoffs. I adore his group date marriage event (&accept him believing he fell for the protag at first sight as a headcanon (it’s just a crush, not ‘true love’/’destiny’, though)), think the love potion quest where he downs some love potion believing it will make girls love him only to fall for Akihiko is hilarious, but that’s about it. I haven’t finished Persona Q2, but his characterization in that game is a lot better from what I’ve seen.

I believe that Teddie went through the events of Persona 4 believing that when the investigation was over, he was ‘supposed’ to go live in the midnight channel permenantly and say goodbye to his friends. A lot of his antics during the year are him pushing for some cliche high school fun experiences in order to make some memories to hold onto (he’s kind of like a player avatar in that way ?? this kind of thing is why the latest 3 Persona games are set during high school over just one year, right??). His perverted antics can be explained with the idea that he doesn’t actually expect any of these girls to fall in love with him, if he wants anything he wants a movie-style ‘summer romance’ so he doesn’t really take them / flirting with them seriously (I’m not justifying it, only providing a possible explanation). He may have just gotten lonely and came back to visit anyway, but his intention really was to leave the human world for good at the end of the game. It’s only when the IT laugh off the suggestion that he realises he was the only one who believed this, that they really think of him as part of the team and weren’t just humoring him this whole time. 

I headcanon that his perception of his friends changes and he starts to respect them (+Yosuke’s wallet) better over time after this. It’s gradual (old habits die hard!) but noticable if you pay attention. Naoto notices his maturing during the game, she’d probably be the first to catch on.

He’s bisexual and nonbinary. Though, his feelings on gender maybe can’t be compared to a normal human, he takes on an androgynous male body because he wants to be loved rather than because he feels like a man, dresses as a girl because again he wants to feel pretty and loved rather than because he feels like a woman... In Persona Q2 he volunteers himself and Chie for the power team despite struggling to lift the weights that team needs to, because Chie is insecure about being the only girl on the team and he wants to comfort her. So he’s not exactly bigender or gender fluid, he’s nonbinary and presents whichever way feels right at the time, and what feels right is based less on his own feelings and more what will hopefully make him loved or sometimes help/comfort his friends? He did not grow up like a human in a society of binary gender, it honestly doesn’t mean much to him.

He believes Kanji is attracted to him (which I see as untrue aha I sort of ship it but if he’s got a crush it’s not in the way Teddie thinks), &mimics Yosuke’s attitude about it, not seriously scared of him being predatory or anything (not realising the problem w/ Yosuke’s homophobic comments, which Yosuke quietly gets over later &is probably embarrassed about his own behaviour so he’s not gonna explain), just thinking it’s a funny way of teasing him, seeing Kanji denying him (or not knowing what the fuck Tedd’s talking about) as being tsundere. I feel like this would die down as he gets older

His one-sided rivalry with Akihiko in the Q games (ahh I know they have a hostile relationship in the Arena games but I haven’t played them so don’t know if I wanna make that canon to my Tedd, it seems like they’re too hostile) is because Akihiko is hot, has lots of fangirls, but it’s not just jealousy, he’s swooning too

I think he flirts with Goro in PQ2 because he’s told Goro is a detective prince like Naoto, it’s kinda similar to Akihiko, he follows the crowd and fangirls too. But also, Goro is a Wildcard, he doesn’t know it at this point but he may subconsciously sense it? I’ve always headcanoned him having an attraction to Wildcards, of course the P4 protag is his #1 but he’s pretty flirty with the others in the Q games

the high-school fake dating au

High school is possibly the worst place on earth. It’s like it was made to cater to the catty elite, but anyone who is different, or weird, or even just shy gets a target put on them. Laurent is different. His hair is too long, and he prefers actually going to class to learn rather than gossip, and he reads throughout his lunch break. And yeah, sometimes people give him shit for it, but Auguste has always told Laurent to be better than the assholes, so he’s never let that bother him much.

Except. Except, then there’s his mortal enemy, Aimeric. Aimeric is six months younger than Laurent, and they were childhood best friends, right up until Laurent’s dad fired Aimeric’s dad and Aimeric decided he had to take it out on Laurent.

It’s not usually that much of a problem, until the first day of Laurent’s final year of high school.

The issue is that all (three!) of Laurent’s friends were a year above him. Which means they’ve all graduated now. Which means that Laurent no longer has a shield of protection. Which means Aimeric finally has free range to attack Laurent in whatever way he sees fit.

The plan comes into action during roll call. Laurent knows this, because everyone in the class seems to simultaneously get a notification on their phone - Laurent included. Everyone at Marlas State High School is a member of the secret MSHS facebook group. When everyone’s phones vibrate in unison like this, it only means one thing - new gossip.

Roll call ends and they are all set free to walk to their first period classes and check their phones on the way.

He buries his head in his hands. His phone is going off with notifications like it never has before. Gay, gay, gay. Why the fuck did he write that?! There’s only one person who could have done this - Aimeric. Aimeric is the sole person in their school that was friends with Laurent when he was using that email address. He must have used that to search for Laurent’s blog.

This is so fucked up. Laurent had a very specific plan for his coming out - namely, to do it in university and also never speak to anyone from high school again. Sure, there have been rumours before, but this is practically a signed declaration. The torture this year is going to be relentless.

Laurent spends another twenty minutes with his head in his hands, when the door opens and in comes the receptionist and -- Damianos Akielos. Laurent immediately wants to die. Damianos - or Damen, as everyone calls him - is most definitely the most popular guy in school. Hell, he’s probably the most popular guy even in the schools he doesn’t attend, he has that many friends. Not only is he loved by just about everyone, but he’s also in three different sports teams, and the captain of the environmentalist committee at the school. When he smiles, literal sparkles appear around his face. Laurent once went to one of his wrestling matches and had a week of uncomfortably hot sex dreams afterwards.

“-still no excuse for fighting,” the receptionist is chastising him. And yet she still manages to sound more affectionate than when she’d been questioning Laurent’s headache.

“Aw, Miss Halvik,” Damen says, in a syrupy voice. “I didn’t know you cared.”

She laughs, and then instructs Damen to take the ice off of his cheek in twenty minutes, before leaving.

Damen sighs when the door closes, and then looks up and spots Laurent. “Oh!” he says, eyes widening. “Laurent, hi, you’re-- are you okay?”

“I’m in sick bay,” Laurent replies, testily. “So evidently not.”

Damen has the gall to look concerned. It’s not like he and Laurent have ever been friends or anything like it. “What happened? Did someone hit you?”

“I have a headache,” Laurent replies. “Your endless questions aren’t helping.”

“I’m sorry.”

They both fall silent after that. Despite the ice pack clutched to his face, Damianos still looks beautiful. His skin is flawless and brown, and his curls form perfect little ringlets that are just long enough to get in his eyes.

After a moment, Damen carefully says, “Did you get your headache before first period?”

Laurent looks away.

Damen takes that as an answer. He speaks as if Laurent is a skittish baby deer. “I’m sorry about that post, but I promise it’ll blow over. It’s just the start of a new year and everyone is desperate for drama. Something else will happen for them to focus on soon, I’m sure of it.”

Laurent levels Damen with a cold look. “It’s easy to be optimistic,” he says, “when you’re straight and perfect and everyone loves you. I doubt they’ll even let me last the year here.”

Damen frowns. “Do you really think that?”

“That you’re an optimistic idiot? Yes.”

“I mean that you won’t be able to stay here.”

Laurent sighs. “There’s a reason,” Laurent says, “that I didn’t come out on my own terms already.”

Damen falls into a thoughtful silence again for some time. “Do you think it would be the same for me? If I were --not straight.”

Laurent scoffs. “Everyone who saw you dating Jokaste last year has little doubt that you’re straight.”

“But if I wasn’t,” Damen insists.

Laurent shrugs. “I don’t know. You’d probably be fine. They’d all call you brave and keep loving you anyway. I’m an outcast, they’re all probably just happy for another reason to hate me.”

“Do you want to date me?” Damen bursts out.

It’s hard not to roll his eyes. “Just because I like men,” Laurent says, “doesn’t mean I want to fuck you.” He very specifically doesn’t say no, though.

“No,” Damen says, “I mean. What if we-- If I’m so popular then, wouldn’t it...make it easier… if we were dating?”

Laurent scowls. “You mean you want to pretend to date me so that people aren’t so fucking awful to me?”

“If you think that would help you,” Damen says, earnestly. “And any other not-straight students here.”

The worst thing is - it’s actually really tempting. Damen is offering to be his beautiful, bulky, human shield. It sounds like something out of a low budget rom-com.

“You dated Jokaste,” Laurent says, stupidly. “Everyone knows you’re straight.”

“Bisexuality exists, just FYI,” Damen replies. He’s smiling a little now, like he thinks Laurent is cute or something. What the fuck. “Listen,” he stands up. “I’m going to go back to class now. I can’t really afford to miss much more of history. But the offer stands. Think about it, and come sit with me at lunch if you decide you’re up for it.”

Camp Campus AU: Part 2

Finally! It’s here, after like a week! This took longer than I thought it would, these characters are really hard to draw but I think I’m pretty satisfied with what I have right now. Since I finished this, that also means I dedicate more time to asks, specifically those that requests drawings! That also means I can focus on drawing comics and stuff revolving around their relationships, which I’m excited. I’m really excited to continue with this project and see it grow, and I’m so glad you’re all here to see it with me! You have no idea how grateful I am for all of the love that you’ve all sent so far! Thank you so much. Anyway, without further ado, here we go!

Maxwell/Max : Like many of his peers, Max hasn’t changed much since his time at Camp Campbell. Max is still as vulgar as ever and maintains his pessimistic outlook on life. However, many people think its all just an act now to keep up his reputation. Since Camp Campbell, Max’s life has honestly taken a turn for the better. He has a healthier home life, loyal companions, and Mr. Honeynuts. He is generally happier than he was 7 years prior. The only inner conflict Max truly struggles with now are his budding feelings for his best friend and whether or not he wants to jeopardize their friendship. Also Max is often teased for his “baby” hands, they’re really really small. 

Cornelius/Neil : Intelligent, cocky, and overly sarcastic, Neil plays the role of the parent when it comes to handling Nikki and Max. Unlike his friends, Neil was the only one who matured both physically and mentally and feels as if its his job to make sure Nikki and Max don’t wind up killing someone else or themselves. As mentioned before, Neil and Nikki remained close even after each summer brought an end to their Camp Campbell experience. The reason being his dad and Nikki’s mom eloping and combining the families. While Nikki is eager to invite Neil into her life as the older brother she never had, Neil harbors a sort of resentment towards his dad as a result of his parents’ divorce. Although he is glad to spend time with Nikki as well, Neil is still consciously struggling with his parents’ divorce and can’t help but to think that Candy is a homewrecker, even though he had admitted before that his parents’ relationship was awful. Outside of his home life, Neil can be a bit stuck-up and act like a know-it-all at times. He still harbors a deep loathing for Harrison, now mostly because Harrison claims to be a flat-earther. He’s also still incredibly annoyed by Space Kid, although he has no reason to be. Neil also runs a tutoring business at school in order to make a profit, but unfortunately for him (Or maybe fortunately) Tabii’s his only reoccurring customer. Neil is also Erin’s vice president in the Student Council and they seem to make a great team. He also has custom-made glasses because his nose is so fucking big.

Preston Goodplay : Preston is the stereotypical school thespian. Like at Camp Campbell, he’s outrageous and posses a larger than life attitude. He’s both over-dramatic and overemotional, but refuses to take any form of criticism. Preston is often cast as a main role in any school production and even takes it upon himself to critique his underclassmen in the drama department. Despite coming off as a total wacko, Preston is very talented and each performance that he gives is full of energy. Preston is very particular about his passion and is quick to anger if things don’t go his way. Preston acknowledges his relationship with his of his Camp Campbell peers, but doesn’t really willingly share his interest with any of them because of his fear that they might fuck it all up. However, he and Nikki do bond over some musicals that they both enjoy, although Nikki is usually more interested in the violent parts than the actual plot. 

Rudolph “Dolph” Houston : Dolph is the youngest of the cast and the only underclassmen in their friend group. Dolph continues to remain in high spirits and prefers to think positively than reflect upon the negative when faced with difficult situations. After High school, Dolph plans on attending a local Art College in order to truly embrace his career as a professional artist. Growing older, Dolph, like any other boy, went through puberty and grew facial hair. However, he ended up accidentally shaving it in an incident at Camp Campbell one summer and it never grew up correctly after that. Although an innocent mistake, the uncanny resemblance to Hitler disgusts Neil and causes him to keep his distance. Ironically being the youngest of the group, Dolph is a good friend with sole senior Ered. Dolph, like Nikki, has a great admiration for Ered and respects for activism. Using his artistic talent, Dolph often agrees to make protest signs for Ered or even help her vandalize the town to get a message across. Overall, Dolph is the same sweet boy he was years ago. 

Neil Armstrong Jr./Space Kid : Space Kid is just as optimistic and upbeat as he was before. However, he’s also gotten a lot smarter. Inspired by his great grandfather, Neil Armstrong, Space Kid decided to take up an internship at NASA and since then has put a lot of focus on his grades. Much to Neil’s annoyance, Space Kid’s GPA is practically the same as his, which is impressive. Although, the constant work has taken a toll on him and has made him absolutely exhausted. His exhaustion explains why he comes to school dressed comfortably in pajama pants (NASA merch of course TM) everyday. But regardless of overworking himself, Space Kid still tries his best to put on a happy face for his colleagues, even if they don’t appreciate it. 

Harrison : Exerting the same confidence and pride as before while still upholding his magical title, Harrison is the school’s sole illusionist. Although now his tricks aren’t seen as that impressive anymore among his peers, Harrison often attends parties and other small events and shows off his miraculous talent. He hopes that one day he’ll be discovered and whisked away to a life of fame and fortune. Harrison is kind to practically everyone he meets, but his rivalries with Neil and Nerris remain very alive. As a way to annoy Neil, Harrison often lies and says that he’s a Flat-Earther with no intention of listening to Neil’s explanation as to why the Earth is round. Harrison also rivals Nerris not only in magical skills, but also in opinions. As a die hard Harry Potter fan, Nerris had solely read the books and reluctantly turned to the films but found them to be distasteful. However, Harrison had never read the books and enjoyed the effects that the movies had, claiming that they’re superior. And by saying this, the two renew their fierce opposition to each other, but no one can stay mad at each other forever. Having a mostly positive attitude, many might not believe that Harrison actually has a secret, one that lies beneath his iconic white gloves. But it’s too soon to know for sure what it is yet. 

Gaylord “Nurf” Nurfington : Nurf ended up growing into a model citizen. After many anger management classes and corrective punishment, Nurf has finally turned his life around in the right direction. He and his mom currently live together and support each other, trying to rewrite their bad decisions from the past. Nurf often participates in volunteer work as well as lead a therapy group. He has also experiemnted more with his own identity and is comfortable admitting that he is in fact Bisexual. Nurf is also Quarterback for the school’s team and is known as one of their best players, alongside Nikki. Even though he is on his way to becoming an ideal person, Nurf still displays some aggressive tendencies and is very overprotective of his friends from Camp Campbell. 

The Wood Scouts (Billy “Snake” Nikssilp/Edward Pikeman/Jermy Fartz/Stephen van Petrol) : The Wood Scouts don’t play a particularly large role in this AU, but they still exist in this universe. Edward’s leader status has deteriorated in the group and has become co-dependent on Jermy and his newfound popularity. Jermy had gotten a major glow-up over the last Summer and is now considered to be the hottest guy attending the school. Because of his popularity, Edward now clings to Jermy in a one-sided friendship and uses his popularity as a way to elevate his own confidence (he wants clouts lmao).Snake and Petrol have both noticed this behavior from Edward and are disgusted by his attachment to Jermy. Edward often neglects his friendship with the two and refuses to associate with them. Snake still has a small crush on Tabii, but understands that she is completely invested in Neil and wants what’s best for her. Petrol plans to enroll in the military after graduation. He also struggles to find shirts that fit him.

David & Gwen : Here they are! In all of their glory! Unfortunately this time around, David and Gwen don’t play as large of a role in the campers’ lives, but are still actively present in this AU. Summers back, David had fully encouraged Gwen to leave Camp Campbell in search for other job opportunities in the hopes of making her a happier person. With some persuading, she eventually left and the two had little contact with each other since. Since then, David has been running the camp by himself. Now David is the proud father of one. And that one is Max. David had officially adopted Max a few summers ago to help him out of his bad family situation and now lives his life as a proud suburban dad. David then started to rely on Max to help him co-counsel the Camp during the summer, because he though it’d be a great father/son bonding experience and the rest is history. When he’s not a happy-go-lucky camp counselor during the summer, David spends the rest of his time as a Dental Assistant because he loves nothing more than to see people smile. Gwen, however, didn’t find the happiness she thought she would after leaving Camp Campbell. Searching for jobs endlessly, Gwen eventually was hired as a high school guidance counselor but was fired months after because of a incident where she made a student cry hysterically. Gwen was then stripped of her title and sentenced to a secretary position. Although thankful she still has a job, Gwen is as miserable as ever and has to deal with the kids she once knew from Camp Campbell. Most of her time is spent with Max, purely because he’s given a detention every other day, and she couldn’t hate her life more. Hopefully one day Gwen will find the fortune she deserves.

Who or what sparked your love of literature?

Aw my parents fueled my book habit when I was a kid and took me to the bookstore all the time and since then all my teachers have always encouraged me and made me love books even more than I thought possible.

Do you have an ‘odd’ book habit? (page sniffing/never leaving the house with a book)

It’s true that I never go anywhere without a book. I got one in my backpack or purse or reading on my phone but it’s always there.

Do you have a book that you think has changed your life? How?

A lot of books and series have made significant impacts on my life (like I can’t picture elementary school without Percy Jackson being in my life) but like as a person I can’t think of any one book that has changed who I am. It’s been a team effort.

Which book have you reread most frequently?

I think I reread Hush Hush every year lmao idk why

You can meet any author and ask one question. What author would you chose and what question would you ask?

I’d want to meet Shakespeare and ask him if all his characters really were just that gay or if we’re all reading too much into it.

Imagine you’ve started a book and don’t like it. Do you see the experience through to the bitter end, or are you able to talk away from it mid story?

I used to always finish what I started but now that I’m in college and have a mountain of a TBR I’ll just stop.

So many but I think Gansey and I from The Raven Cycle would make the best couple.

Weirdest thing you’ve used as a bookmark

I use whatever near me so I might have done something weirder but lately I’ve been using tissues because I have a tissue box by my bed and never real bookmarks. But I’ve used graded homework, a toy car, a crayon, earbuds, etc.

Favorite quality/qualities in a protagonist and antagonist

Wow this is s hard okay for protag I am a sucker for like stubborn, smartass with a martyr complex. Sad but true. Antags I love a good morally grey character or anti-villain. Tragic backstory but smart as hell. The worst (the best). Characters like the Darkling from The Grisha Trilogy, and Warner from the first Shatter Me book (I know he’s a good guy NOW but back then we all thought he was a sadistic and sexy villain).

Favorite genre and favorite book from that genre.

YA Urban Fantasy babyyy and that’d be City of Bones by Cassandra Clare or Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare:)

LOL I do not have a system at all. I keep series and authors together and that’s it. Everything is placed where there is room.

You have the power to change a book’s ending. Which ending would you change and what would you make happen instead?

I’d change the end to Allegiant and SPOILERS SPOILERS not make Tris fucking die over her shitty ass brother. I know why she did it but like Veronica girl wyd with that. And I’d want the entirety of Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins to be rewritten into a book that just focused on the domestic life of Finnick and Annie and no one dies.

Which book from your childhood has had the most impact on you?

My entire personality was shaped by the Maxmimum Ride series by James Patterson. For better and worse.

When reading, what do you value most: writing style, characters, plot, world building, pacing, etc?

Characters. I think all of those things are essential and as I read more and more, the pickier I get, but I find myself leaning towards being a fan of a book when I become obsessed with the characters. Like hey!! New friends!!! For my brain!!!

Do you prefer buying books or borrowing them from a library/friend?

Buying them even though I shouldn’t. It’s a real problem.
