I am actually obsessed with the recurring O’saa character quirk where he is just. A fan of making the lamest jokes you’ve ever heard. Everyone knows about the church interaction but ever since I saw this party talk it’s been living in my head rent-free. He’s so silly it is straight up comical

"I AM PERFECTION"
Tumblr media
"IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME"
Tumblr media
"I'LL NEVER BE GOOD ENOUGH"
I like these mentally ill siblings
I tried to portray (what I think are) their biggest flaws (Ego, envy, esteem)
Also, I tried to show more about their flaws with their eye levels
Void believes he's better than everyone, looking down upon them.
Andromeda sees Stellar at eye level, seeing her as an equal, or a reflection of what her life could've been if she was saved.
Polarity is looking down at himself, feeling he's worthless when compared to his more able siblings, despite being the one who tries the hardest.
Here's transparent PNGs

In all seriousness I think Saiki is a really good example of a person who is passively suicidal in a relatively normal setting. Especially someone who’s young and growing up under poor circumstances (his powers, etc.) Obviously people don’t actually have psychic powers, but a big thing about the media is that at the end of the day, Saiki is really just a normal kid. Having a show where the main character is depressed, yet this isn’t the main focus of the plot or his character, makes it one of the best representations of clinical depression for me personally.

Now I'm just thinking about Potter and how neatly they showed us exactly what they wanted us to expect from this man. Dude walks into a MASH unit with all his regular Army trappings and, like, of course he's going to act exactly like he's been taught to as a superior officer. Everyone here went through basic. They all know the rules. Obviously they're all going to follow them.
I feel like somewhere in the middle of reading Hawkeye's file specifically is where the shift happens. This man is absolutely ridiculous. It's mindboggling, everything that he got away with to the present day. In fact, it's impressive. Sherm got into the Army at age 15, for Christ's sake. I feel like he can remember exactly what it felt like to be a child joking around and pulling pranks with his friends in between moments of carnage. He reads over some of the shit Hawk's done and probably wishes he'd been able to do it himself in his younger days.
That's where the switch finally gets flipped. What the hell is he doing, trying to treat this like a regular Army camp? He can't hold rigid expectations over them. It would be absurd. All he can really hope for is to request that maybe they not fuck around so bombastically that they all end up in hot water because of it. But he's not gonna sit down and have a quiet, reflective moment about it—that's not his style. He muses on things while continuing to move forward through his day, stoic, solid, prepared for any emergency that might occur. It's why the shift feels so sudden to the audience. He made his decision to treat this camp like human beings ripped away from their homes and coping the best they can far before he admitted longingly how much he could use a belt. He simply learned to play his cards as close to the chest as possible long, long ago.

thats something that bothers me about st so much… when awful things keep happening, but the characters just move on immediately, it just feels weird! i think it just trivializes that stuff when its not shown to have any actual weight or bearing on characters lives. and like of course steve would feel bad abt eddie? its sad when people die? its sad when people you know and are friendly with die a horrible death? its sad when you could have done something to avoid it, even though there was no way you could have known what was going to happen? like come on
you get it!! it lowers the stakes of the show so much when the characters can shrug off the consequences of the upside down so easily. like….okay fred just died horrifically but nancy doesn’t seem to care so why should i? okay steve had his abdomen torn open but he seems completely fine after an hour so why should i be scared of these bats? it weakens the show and it frustrates me when fans buy into it because like….what is the Point then. of anything.

I love that some of us have our comfort polar persona. You know, like: another mental breakdown this week? Fine, I'll put another photo of Bilson in the frame, it's alright.

some stuff we could've had in The Dragon Republic but didnt and I wish we did
kitay and chaghan hating each other ON SIGHT. i believe from the bottom of my heart they spent the entire book trying to assassinate each other in increasingly covert ways
more rin and qara friendship!!!! we were so robbed tbh
quara and VENKA friendship!!!! archers!!!!
kitay and ramsa scheming together. idk it just makes sense, them being the only two not-shamans. besides i think ramsa's chaos would go well with kitay's big brilliant brain and by that i mean they would do horrible unspeakable things together and no one would be able to stop them <3

As someone that loves ATLA and is recently getting back into the fandom and has also been spending alot of time in the One Piece fandom as off late
Luffy and Aang have a very similar energy that I enjoy. They are just both so precious oh my god 😭. They are so different but they have very similar narrative functions in how they inspire the people around them to embrace silliness and childlike joy.
But also I love the way they move their powers are fun and they love using them. They are constantly using it's ungrained in the way they move Aang loves airbending he's never not jumping around with it and Luffy loves being rubber
Which makes their differences all the more exciting and seeing how that same scale of personality
they both deal with inherited will Aang more literally and directly that Luffy (as of yet) and they interact with that differently. Aang's inherited will is a weight on his shoulders a burden he has to bear while Luffy's is a pleasant surprise to those around, and the source of his desire for freedom. And this comes through in how they interact with the ultimate version of their powers the literal embodiment of these inherited wills. The avatar state and gear 5
The avatar state for Aang represents a destiny he is still to young to bear, it is unpredictable, overwhelming, uncontrollable, it is something to be feared and worried about, it represents a loss of control for him and he struggles to reconcile that kind of destructive power with himself and his values. It scares him, and That’s why it remains lost to him for much of the series till he makes it his own.
Meanwhile for Luffy Gear 5 represents freedom, he is literally being freed from the constraints of reality. It is the culmination of everything he’s ever been. It’s everything we love about luffy turned up to a 100. Gear 5 is silly, goofy, cartoonish, unserious, fun loving, filled with laughter, insanely power and lowkey a little scary. Even tho Luffy is technically transforming into another person (or god) but god it is still him it is everything that has ever embodied him. And Luffy loves to be in it he has so much because as he said it’s him at his freest.
Aang and Luffy have very different character philosophies, priorities and move through the world differently. Aang is very much concern about the people in the general sense while Luffy is very much focused on helping his friends which then spirals to helping the general population, it just so happens that he is very good at making friends
But at their core they are just both fun loving little boys refusing to let their tragedies define them as they and their rag tag group of walking disasters rove the world like criminals, freeing the people from oppression.

can you picture donald and/or panchito getting in fights with some guys to which zé owes money? i mean, how would they deal with zé's indebted existence? both from a more comedic and also a more dramatic perspective, that is
Ok so, since you specified for both a comedic take and a dramatic one, I feel like I have to do a small disclaimer just so people that don't have access to the Zé Carioca comics understand what's up with this parrot's way of life. As you know, every one of these Disney birds has some kind of over exagerated dysfunctional trait. Donald has his cartoonishly bad luck and temper, Scrooge has his stinginess, Panchito is literally trigger-happy and Zé's thing is that he likes being indebted! José so much enjoys owing people money that him not paying up is an actual point of pride for him in some stories. While in others, when under miraculous circunstances he's able to set his life straight by having all his debts forgiven, he refuses to accept that! It's agaisnt his nature to not have that kind of pressure on his back, and, in the end, he quite enjoys scamming, asking for money and running from bill collectors!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, I'm taking this specific trait of José's personality into account for the comedic answer. I guess I don't see Panchito and Donald getting necessarily violent to deal with Zé's debt collectors because... well, they would soon find out that Zé is in the wrong and, also, Zé usually manages to defend himself (run away) on his own quite alright. Although, if ANYONE were to try and hurt Zé, there's no doubt Panchito and Donald would jump up to protect their friend from getting beaten up. There's also that thing in some comics where José actually tries to hide that he is economically struggling from Donald and Panchito, so yeah, the caballeros would first have to figure out that Zé is 1. VERY POOR (something heavily implied to be his own fault for not working) and 2. chronically indebted (something heavily implied to be his own fault for not working.... x2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I guess what I mean is, if Panchito and Donald were to find out the way that Zé lives in canon, they probably wouldn't mind much. Maybe there would be some chiding, in par with every other friend of Zé, but I can't imagine they'd change the status quo. That is because Zé owing half the city of Rio money is just one more of his lovable character's traits.
NOW, if we were to dial the drama way up and make Zé's debt something that he truly wished to get rid of... I imagine Panchito and Donald would move heaven and earth to help him! And if that means getting into a few fights, then so be it! Even if Donald and Panchito themselves don't have much money to which to help, they're the Three Caballeros, together through fair or stormy weather!
