Bug Dewi (Mining Bee)

Many people have asked what Dewi, from the HK comic, would look like as a BUG. (The design is very loosely inspired by the Mining Bee). Here's a lil bit more art. And here's Dewi's dad as a bug.

I have also learned too much about this bee and will now infodump about why this is a cute bee for Dewi.

Mining Bees are solitary, but they commonly nest close by one another in "bee cities". I thought this would fit since Dewi is a Human, a social creature, but not a hive mind.

As a rule, Mining Bees are non-aggressive and their stingers are too fragile to sting humans. Much like Dewi, these bees do not want to fight.

Male Mining Bees are covered with shaggy patches of hair, which I thought would fit Dewi's signature fuzzy head.

Tucker is a rather touchy person.

Church couldn’t get out of an arm around the shoulder or a tired head thunking against his side even if he wanted to. Caboose can plop himself over Tucker’s lap and get head pats or back rubs. Kai is holding Tucker’s hand more often than not. Tex isn’t touchy, but Tucker can lean into her side on occasion and not get his dick ripped off.

The reds aren’t safe either: Grif and Tucker take naps together (or rather on top of each other), Tucker likes to lean against Simmons back and listen to him prattle on without adding anything, Donut and Tucker will sit on the couch with the other’s legs in their lap and gossip, even Sarge gets little thunks from Tucker whenever he rests his head on Sarge’s shoulder.

Wash receives Tucker’s affection on full blast, getting armfuls of the man when he least expects it, especially after they got separated on Chorus. They’re basically glued at the hip, Tucker casually lacing their hands together or sitting in Wash’s lap or hugging Wash from behind just to kiss the back of his neck. It never fails to put a smile on his face.

Just, Tucker being allowed to be affectionate and express is care for people without it being soaked up in sexual intent. Tucker being allowed to love people platonically. Tucker being allowed to casually love Wash throughout the day.
