ref sheet that i cooked up for dystopian!emmet (or rather saved from the depths of wip hell and finished because i needed it for art fight dfsghjgh) this is only his combat outfit - he ditches the cape and mask (which he always has on in combat) when he's at the resistance camp, working in his workshop, fixing up trains, etc - aka his casual outfit is just the shirt, overalls, boots and gloves he's got the blacephalon thing going on because that's the pokemon he ended up stealing from- he totally found out in the wild and caught on his own totally absolutely one hundred percent legitimately yep

i can't remember if i mentioned it in another post but the togekiss emblem is basically their symbol of hope :D

also he's a very serious and hardened emmet from his rough life experience - still has a smile but it's very, ah, tight and strained? he's a no nonsense kind of guy, let's put it that way (still, he has his moments where he'll loosen up and be more jovial etc)

Ingo likes it! He's quite interested in the valley's customs. Emmet on the other hand...

Emmet hates it, but he finds fun elsewhere. It doesn't really matter if he likes anyone or not….. he's just nosey for the sake of it.

Their rejection dialogue was actually the first lines of dialogue we wrote for them... It took months to come back and finish writing dialogue for the festivals. We were originally thinking that they would be more reserved and reluctant to join, but they would have become more comfortable by then. The first Flower Dance they attend would take place after they've lived in the valley for almost a year, since the Railroad doesn't open until Summer 3. They both used to be tucked away in the corner... now they're spread out and Emmet is stalking people in plain sight like usual.

Because it will no doubt be a long ramble it will be under the cut along with some lil doods of the few drawings I have of the beans in question (I need to redo them and make proper designs for.....most of them still but theres some! And a spider one, so....) Cw insect and spider character along with WALL of text.

My lil insect beans are for a lil project I call 'Butterflies and Monarchs'

Which is....as you can assume about butterflies (and other insects) and BOTH meanings of the word monarchs as in European royal hierarchy and monarch butterflies :3

I have a lil summary for it here (A benefit of an old film class even if I plan to either write it like a novel or make it a graphic novel once I dont suffer doing backgrounds....as much)

A duchess to be, discontented with her duty to marry her betrothed. Getting off on the wrong foot with her betrothed she meets a mystery man at a masquerade ball and slowly becomes closer to both trying to unravel who they really are and her feelings to decide if she’ll follow her heart or her responsibilities before it's too late.

The project leans into history for 1700's europe (specifically france but with ties to england and italy as well for history and aesthetics) along with heavy flower motifs, formal prose and COLOR is a big thing! :D (.....boy doesn't this sound familiar Ahem....Pink ....niche special interests, themes and motifs will be used again and again)

But the main character is a hybrid moth/butterfly Marquise Montella Noelle Dubois from the Marigold kingdom

(These are....very old drawings but you get an idea from them....) Montella is based on a Monarch butterfly and a white satin moth, her wings are very muted during the day but glow in the pattern of a monarchs at night or in dim/dark settings ^-^

Her kingdom is themed after marigolds, old england(mixed with france), and orange, gold and white colors. She also has a few additional monikers she goes by (tho its very blatanly stated its still her....unlike with others under pseudonyms :3)

....while she's the main character I don't have much to say about her (the side characters take the show at times, she just TECHNICALLY moves the plot along with her sappy attempts at romance and diplomatics with her betrothed) but she's meant to be very sweet (if oblivious....) character ^-^

And while I sadly don't have drawings for them I want to mention Montella's parents (who are barely seen but....I love the Earl he's a joy)

Duchess Genevieve Madeleine Dubois, a satin moth and main ruler of the Marigold kingdom (YES its equally ruled by both her and her husband, but she has the higher status and thus is mentioned first) She's a very posh lady, formal and polite, not the most outwardly affectionate (unlike her husband) (I imagine she's very fluffy and keeps her fluff kept silky smooth and neat at all times)

and Earl Montgomery Emmet Dubois a very exuberant (and frankly obnoxious) monarch butterfly, he's loud and jovial and very different from his wife XD (He's wonderful even if he's not seen much, I actually have a chunk of a draft for the first....chapterish of the script for the project if you'd want to see that, it's rough and from like....2 years ago but you get a better feel for the Montella, her parents, Anton and his courtship partner Whilemena :3)

Moving on! We of course have (possibly your favorite) Anton Alfred McKnight the golden ant and personal guard to Montella (who often escapes him much to his nerves dismay) who is sent off to the Cornflower kingdom with her!

And his courtship partner Wilhemena Hayden Elffire who is a sweet little firefly gal, she's a tad forgetful but makes up for it in spirit! She's Montella's personal maid/handmaiden in the Marigold kingdom (she unfortunately was NOT sent with as the Cornflower kingdom has someone to assist Montella while she stayed there) but her and Anton are a sweet lil background couple (She's strong enough to bowl over Anton it's hilarious to see.)

Moving on to the Cornflower kingdom! With main themes being old england/italy, Cornflowers, and the colors black, blue and silver!

We have Montella's betrothed! Marqui Dominic Azure D'Angeli He is a hybrid of a Black rustic moth and a Blue morpho butterfly. He has plain black wings like his father.

Duke Valentine Cosimo D’Angeli. Dominics father, a black rustic moth. A very diplomatic and courteous moth.

Lady Verity Bernadette D’Angeli. A blue morpho butterfly, she is very passive, she's sweet but a touch meek (she was once but a commoner)

Count Atticus Victor Dior. A blue morpho butterfly, and Dominic's elder half brother from Lady Verity's past marriage. (He is also a very big jerk, high and mighty yet never to be next in line because HE IS A JERK (that's literally the only reason, he wasn't chosen because he's a jerk XD)) He's very antagonistic to Montella

Lady Jezebel Ernestine Bellarosa, a frequent companion to Atticus. She's a blue wasp and from a seperate kingdom originally but moved here in her youth (I FORGET ITS NAME BUT ITS PURPLE THEMED) she's initially rather antagonistic as well (Atticus is a TERRIBLE influence...) but she warms up to Montella's kindness (and may not be as straight as she thought she was-)

MOVING ON! We have the mysterious mystery mothman (or he LOOKS like a moth....who's to say :3) that is Sir Azure with his glowing blue wings and ever present mask, a quick companion to Montella, of course SOME people know who he is, but he's a mystery to Montella and supposed to be to the reader (I do love me some mystery after all :3)

Pierre Armand Du’Bleu the head royal guard! And the beloved blue mantis man, cool and collected and unnervingly never seems to blink, only stare passively, constantly. And the one to constantly get on Ant's nerves <3

(I like this better then the ref dood of him so this one it is! :3)

Mrs. Lavinia Estelle Bazil, personaly maid/handmaiden of Montella while she stays in the cornflower kingdom. A blue bumblebee! She's quite the hardworker and always to the point (She also has a partner, but they are only ever mentioned to be a green scarab and a carpenter :3)

AND last but not leastttttttt Horatio André Clément (beloved bean....) personal butler/handservant to Dominic, he's a lil blue peacock spider and is intersex! (debating giving him he/they pronouns since he originally was just he/him...or they/he TBD!!)

I love Horatio, he's a lil silent sweetheart, very shy and very quiet.

I'm really curious about how Kieran/Akari and Drayton interact post PLA :D

Cant remember if I spoke on this before lol but they're kind of close as a result of Ingo and Emmet legally becoming Akari's guardians. So technically Akari is now Iris and Drayton's cousin. Which by default makes Carmine their cousin too LOL.

Drayton finds that hilarious and it drives Carmine nuts but no joke they have a rivalry going on for who is the favorite older sibling. By post PLA both Drayton and Carmine have matured. Not only are they both like 19 in it, Drayton had a lot of guilt after Kieran "died" because he blew off going to Area Zero. So he has a lot of "I should have been there Kieran was being a brat but he's still a kid" (even though he was a kid too but Kieran was an even younger kid). So like, that and the whole "ex-champion" tormenting thing really messed with him. Sure Kieran was being a shit but having someone you see and interact with just about every day die so suddenly like that is pretty traumatizing.

So post PLA after all the drama and trauma of meeting "Akari" Drayton goes out of his way to keep an eye on them, first as a stand in for Carmine until she can get her butt back to Unova but then, I just see an older Drayton being less of a clown and working through his issues. Having someone to look out for, some responsibility he fully commits to is good for him. Plus it annoys the hell out of Carmine having to be around him so often lol. But lowkey I think Drayden would be very proud of him for helping Akari adjust and it would kind of floor Drayton because it's not pokemon related. He's probably been comparing himself to Iris for years. He's actually got a lot in common with Indigo Disk Kieran when it comes to a feeling of inferiority to a much stronger trainer. If given the chance and some maturation they'd probably have a pretty good relationship. Mind you this is my HC for him but in my fic Drayton finds his niche and becomes a pretty reliable guy.

Oooo I freaking. Love it when one delves into the Implications. Like- both parties agreed to this, but neither knew what it would actually Be Like and now they are just showing their Whole Soul to another person and it can be absolutely Terrifying! But they are going to communicate anyway. Because they care about each other enough to. Because the other person is Worth It.

I love this. Shaking coupled (uncoupled) so hard now. I think it’s actually Really Cool how a lot of the people in this fandom are like “yes the twins have a good relationship but that’s because they Talk with one another and seek to Understand each other” fusion is just another Fantastic way to symbolize that! (And ough I would Love to see more less acknowledged emotions and relationships there too. It’s So Much Fun to play around with)

My favorite part about Coupled (Uncoupled) is that fusion is not the magical cure-all to Emmet's anxieties that he wanted it to be. It makes the story much more nuanced and fun to explore, although it does also make it much more sad and upsetting before it eventually gets a lot brighter. And like I mentioned on the master post, he is Not stuck like that. Yknow. Forever :]

(insert crying emoji that isn't on tumblr) Yeah. It means a lot to me too. The thing that hurts most about the story, which I will ""spoil,"" is that Emmet does kinda blame himself for things "going wrong" (read: not being how he expected), and by extension in his upset + anxiety, he forgets that Ingo explicitly agreed to try it with him. The first + second major arcs in coupled uncoupled are the hard emotional parts that make the later resolutions feel all the more powerful and unshakable, but even in the beginning, Ingo had always agreed to at least try. Even before things are resolved, the core emotional foundation of this domino effect chain was still always trust and love.

You inadvertently inspiring me to ramble about Coupled (Uncoupled) has had the accidental effect of making me think about it a Lot. I'm so fucking glad someone else is shaking them besides me (and again, the few close friends I talk about my AUs with,) because holy SHIT I want to talk about them + share their story + make their story + draw them all the time so bad it makes me look STUPID but I have also failed to talk about them Anywhere online before this point. It's one of the stories I'm the most tight-lipped about since I actually Want To Write It, downside of that is that I, by extension, never get to talk about it Or, never got to before now :D thank you again! infinitely! forever!

Accidental side effect: rip to Steady Tracks, I have not added any more words to the document for several days. Because I have been staring at my computer and being so ill about coupled (uncoupled). I WILL be back to it very soon though, I refuse to let my attention... waver :p

Anyways, yeah, while I love a good "we fit perfectly together" pair like Ingo and Emmet, I also really really love it even more when that intensely strong bond is build on a firm, realistic foundation of mutual care, support, and communication. So a lot of my AUs exist because of me wanting to stress-test that devotion/appreciation/commitment to work out problems, which makes things Extremely Fun to write but also oooohhh.... so goddamn complicated...... This is why I consider myself a "Hurt/Comfort" writer, because I almost universally find stories most compelling if they drop to very low points, dark moments, or genuine, heart-breaking struggles, only to show that this earnest and wholly compassionate care does and will always prevail in the end. That (a relationship) is not about never having problems, but about learning to solve them and being committed to recovery/change after the fact.

Gonna move on before I sob about them. I care them SO much, and coupled (uncoupled) is one of the strongest examples of this in my writing. They have gone, are going, and will continue to go the distance for eachother, thick and thin.

Minor side-tangent based on the last thing about other relationships/dynamics in fusion-

(Edit: After writing a lot more I realized quickly that this was, in fact, not a minor side tangent. It is in fact a major and worthwhile extrapolation on how i feel, however might also be mildly uncomfortable to discuss, and that's okay. If you don't want to hear me talk about my frustration with how our society bastardizes close platonic relationships, you can stop reading at any time or skip to the bottom 👍)

One of the other reasons I haven't talked about Coupled (Uncoupled) online yet is because I get really nervous about it. Fusion is very frequently connoted as romantic, and the coupled twins themselves are very physically affectionate with eachother (yknow, before & after the Horrors™) and so internally I've always been a little worried that people will think I am being weird/creepy/portraying them in a way that is 'too far' for some people, or just generally that people will misinterpret them having a good and healthy relationship with them having an unhealthy and uncool 'relationship.' you get my drift.

On the scale from Aro/Ace-to-Allo I am so fucking far into the side of Not Experiencing Romantic or Sexual Feelings Of Any Kind that I often fear my very firm and active appreciation + inclusion of platonic affection will be taken the wrong way in. Yknow. The twins' familial context.

If it helps put it in perspective, nothing I ever write the twins doing is stuff that I wouldn't also do with close friends and family. I like platonic hand holding. I like platonic cuddles. I like being tangled in a platonic knot of limbs on the couch. I like platonic forehead kisses sometimes. Hell, I got to have a friend over for thanksgiving and I recently got a really comfortable but also large bed, and instead of banishing them to the couch I gave them a spot next to me. (it's a big fuckin bed??? it's a BIG bed. Styled to look like a couch. Very cool and much needed QoL upgrade for me) and it was probably the best and easiest night of sleep I've had in actual months. I bonk foreheads with my little brother, I hug my dad as closely to my chest as I can. So while my relationship with affection and how to show it physically is perhaps pushing the normal societally accepted expectations, it brings me a lot of joy.

And I want my art/writing to be able to express that through the twins without it having some kind of fetishized romantic connotation, because it bothers me a lot when the level of affection that I view as healthy and appropriate within platonic boundaries is Forced to be coded as romantic. (shipping family members together in general just, really makes me violently uncomfortable beyond a way i can put into words. I'm not going to go into it but there was a point in time after I had been on the internet long enough to know that it has bad/uncomfortable sides that I started distancing myself from my family IRL, and only recently started to open up again)

aw shit that ended up being long and serious. well uh, sorry. Probably not the ramble you were hoping for ;^; I care a lot about the coupled twins, and especially how close they are, so by extension it also takes me a lot of vulnerability to post about them online when I know the internet can warp and twist the things i love into something disturbing and upsetting to me. Here's to hoping that doesn't happen, but I can't really control what other people will think, say, or do. I just hope they don't get me involved :[

So, while not spoiling the "whole plot," I think it's easy for me to say that Coupled (Uncoupled) is built on an intense, unconditional love. The whole story is about love. The whole story is about how loving people is hard, about how loving someone means putting in the work to understand and know eachother. About how love can hurt you, but how real, strong love built on a foundation of trust and compassion will heal you far more than it can ever hurt you. there's a reason why the AU is named how it is.

Headcanons for some of my favorite fandoms!

Hey! Sorry for being gone for so long, I have IRL priorities to attend to. Meanwhile, here's some headcanons. It won't be too much, but enjoy anyway! :)

Trigun: (Stampede)

They don't speak any languages we speak on earth. Hear me out on this one, okay? Every human there is a descendant of people from earth and a lot of people aboard the spacecrafts were probably of different ethnicities. There's three ways this could go in terms of languages:

Everybody speaks different languages similar to the ones we speak here, Everybody speaks one common earth language since it's one they're all familiar with, or the people on that planet gradually developed one common language unlike any we speak on earth, obviously for the sake of safely understanding one another.

Pokemon

Ingo and Emmet, silly as they are, are both very strong and strategic mentally, especially before Ingo's disappearance.

I know this one seems a little obvious, but let me clarify: Ingo and Emmet are the subway bosses for a reason. They have to be strategic to be able to have challenging pokemon battles with trainers, make sure absolutely everybody is following the rules, and whatever other responsibilities they may have. I've read a lot of fics where these two aren't as intelligent as they really are. It's funny, but not quite what I imagined.

Also, I said before Ingo was brought to Hisui for a reason. I have a headcanon, like a lot of the fandom, that after Ingo disappears, Emmet slowly starts to lose it, but that goes for his job too. He doesn't quit or take a break, no, instead I feel like he tries to overwork himself and multitask to compensate for the fact that Ingo isn't there, but is slowly losing himself while trying to convince himself that everything will be fine and that Ingo's still here, but having to fill in for Ingo both at work and taking care of his brothers team is driving him into depression. He can barely think straight anymore. People he knows like his co-workers or friends often try to get him to take a break but when he does, he just spends his time trying to find his brother.

Ingo obviously doesn't recall his brother at all, but I feel like in Hisui he often overworks himself as well with his warden duties either in hopes that it'll spark a forgotten memory or that it'll drown out the unexplainable sadness he feels when starts to recall Emmet. For that reason, I feel like Lady Sneaseler and his team all worry about his mental health to an extent.

They weren't in Unova when it happened. Also, it might not have been specifically Arceus or Giratina. What if they were on vacation? It would only make sense, but if that's the case then where? Surely you'd think it was in Sinnoh which would be logical, but what if Ingo accidentally got caught up with Celebi in Johto? Or made a vague wish to Jirachi in Hoenn? There's a ton of possibilities.

Bungo Stray Dogs

This one's gonna cause some complaints, I just know it, but now that I think about it, Ranpo might be Aroace. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HEAR ME OUT! It's partially because I'm Cupio, sure, and I understand that different people have different types and all, but Ranpo, whether playfully or not, is always complaining about how everybody around him is inferior to him mentally. And for Ranpoe shippers, I don't wanna make you mad but I personally don't ship them, I think Ranpo likes Poe platonically. I know it's typical Ranpo behavior to brush things off and act nonchalant about things he doesn't care about, but he makes it very clear that he was friends with Poe. Friends. I know the real life Ranpo Edogawa was gay, but nothing about BSD Ranpo points to him being any more than good friends with Poe in my opinion. Again, just an opinion.

AUGH this is so difficult. thank you for the top 3 option but even then this was like the greatest challenge of my career there are so many good muppets...this list is definitely subject to change in the future

uhhh one of them definitely has to be Kermit! I know Kermit is kind of the default answer, but he's the default answer for a reason - he's such a versatile character while still retaining such a clear personality, and you can really put Kermit into any situation and it'll work! He's such an interesting character to look at evolution-wise, too, considering he's one of the earliest muppets; Sam and Friends-era Kermit is still recognizable as Kermit, but he's so distinct at the same time. Also this is going to be so cheesy but Kermit is genuinely such a comforting figure to me, that frog is my dad for real <3 sometimes if I'm having a rough day I'll put on a playlist of Kermit Sesame Street moments and just watch him talk to kids or draw the letter J in the air lol

Another is Red Fraggle! Red is SUCH a good character oh my gosh, the Fraggle Rock writers struck gold with her. Fraggle Rock does such a good job at making its characters flawed, if that makes sense, and Red is no exception; she's mean, she's self-obsessed, she refuses to admit when she's wrong, and I LOVE her for it ^-^ but at the same time too she isn't JUST the mean self-obsessed one! She's also the silly one, and the one who Gets Cotterpin when nobody else does and starts a massive domino chain that leads to harmony between the Doozers and the Fraggles, and a great singer, and the star athlete, and Mokey's Totally Platonic Gal Pal, and UGHH I could gush about Red all day she's so well-rounded. It certainly helps that Karen Prell (her puppeteer) is tied for my Favorite Muppet Performer alongside Richard Hunt :)

SPEAKING OF RICHARD HUNT I LOVE FORGETFUL JONES SO MUCH!! probably not the most well-known character, but I was suffering with some memory issues in late 2023 (which thankfully seem to be gone), and as silly as it sounds Forgetful made it somewhat tolerable :) he definitely started out as a joke character, but Richard Hunt was SUCH a good puppeteer and really elevated him to a whole other level. He's so caring and kind and the fact that canonically the two things he'll always remember are his girlfriend's name (Clementine) and that he loves her is just 🥺 oughhh I love Forgetful and Clementine so much, I wish they had appeared more often (and I wish I could actually find the episodes where they do CURSE YOU HBO MAX FOR GETTING RID OF ALL OF YOUR SESAME STREET STUFF)

so as for sexuality headcanons, I personally see Ingo as demi! wether demiromantic asexual or demiromantic demisexual im not sure :p but definitely demi something. He’s not too concerned with finding a partner, but if the right one suddenly appears? well! thats great!

I don’t really ship him with anyone but i’m open to anything :D none of my ships are really concrete in my brain. He can have as many partners as he wants lmao

As for Emmet! I see him as bisexual :D!! He’s a bi mess surrounded by hot people and he’s dying. He wants to kiss boys and be crushed by girls and kiss more people. I’m thinking he has more of a preference for guys but if you can beat his ass then he’s in love

For ships tho, like Ingo i dont really have one concrete ship for him, and pretty much anything is fair game in my opinion, buuut,,, my favorite is Emmet with Piers and Elesa. Yes! he gets two partners! I think its fun! He has two partners and they are both very hot and he’s in a constant state of bisexual panic

����: what’s the sweetest fic you’ve created so far?

i am primarily an angst writer but more than incidentally a fluff writer.......that being said, i feel like my fluff tends to be more comedic than "sweet" :p i think all my bandori fics are on the sweet side, but even after all this time i still think my neremmet (for those not in the know: nerissa and emmet are my ocs) fic te émíe is one of the cutest things i've ever written. weirdly, language tutoring is not a trope i write often despite loving it! this might be the only one lol

hmmmmm trying to think about wips i havent posted a lot of on here.... let's go with my other unfinished whumptober fic! the central relationship is lillie and ash, though ash doesn't really...appear in it much, because the whump factor is he was kidnapped lmao. lillie was with him at the time but got away so she's feeling guilty, and it follows in a nonlinear narrative the whole Experience of like, some moments beforehand and then the event itself and the aftermath, where lillie is staying with kukui and burnet because they're concerned about her but also feeling like the house is too empty without ash there (this is set during late sm). so yeah its mostly a collection of short scenes thrown in a specific but very much not chronological order and lowkey the process of writing has made me like...man. aurelia tho. its not a ship fic but sjhdfhgjkd just funny bc i did NOT like the ship when i watched sm but now im like. eyes emoji

aNYWAY. I have moved on. I have a little brother to take care of, you know. Caben is... Doing better. After the whole resurrection stuff, he is still trying to adjust. Can't blame him. I am doing my best to cook the stews he likes and be there for him. Trying to channel my inner Ingo, you see. You would do amazing job taking care of me when I was sick. I hope I can be half as good as you, till you come home.

Okay HMM this one shouldn't be too long of a ramble but we will see! (It ended up a little longer than I intended, my bad. No ficlet here, just rambles! If you want a ficlet, send me another ask with a prompt and I'll write one out :D)

Some of my favorite headcannons? Well I can't remember exactly what I've gotten from other people and what I have made myself, but I think I've said before I do REALLY enjoy Ingo (if not both Ingo AND Emmet) being HoH or even partially Deaf! As a Deaf person myself, and the fact that I view both the twins as HEAVILY autistic, I'd say they probably both have Auditory Processing Disorder already since it is heavily co-morbid with autism, but I also think I saw somewhere that somebody thought Ingo may be properly Deaf with actual hearing loss because of how much he yells! I relate because I also yell and talk very loud because it's difficult to hear myself. I'd like to think Ingo likely has damage to his hearing, perhaps from a train incident or maybe something to do with feedback from the PA system. I mean we all know the twins are very careful and cautious but they likely grew to be that way from multiple incidents over the years LOL

That was a big ramble for just one headcannon but I genuinely cannot think of any others that I've seen that I knowingly picked up from someone else? Though I'd LOVE for you guys to send me in asks about headcannons you enjoy and I'll tell you my thoughts on them !!

Favorite Twin though? MAN that's tough. That poll was going around recently and I am pretty sure Ingo won the votes, but I can't remember. I don't believe I have a favorite just because I like them both for a few different reasons, but if I HAD to pick? Emmet probably. I just think the specific type of trauma he went through with his twin brother and closest friend up and disappearing for god knows how long is a very, interesting type of thing to explore, as well as I relate to Emmet a touch more in the way he's shown in fannon as more blunt and sometimes even aggressive, I like putting my own headcannons onto him of him either having IED (an anger issue disorder I have) or just having SEVERE emotional regulation issues to the point where he likely gets set off way faster than Ingo. And if you take that idea and run with it, it also would just add to the stress of him trying to navigate life without Ingo to keep him in check. I'd like to think he grows a lot emotionally from it, but also it deeply hurts him, though after Ingo (possibly) returns, they are both slightly less codependent and VERY codependent if you look at it from different angles.

Like yeah, Emmet would have learned coping mechanisms to use on his own without his brothers assistance, and so he can be on his own and deal with over-stimulation and frustration without going off on somebody now, which Ingo is very proud of as that was a life long struggle of Emmets, but the way he was forced to learn in such a short period of time makes him inclined to not want to be alone if he can help it. On top of I know he would be verrrry clingy to Ingo when he returns, and Ingo would likely be the same, if not for missing Emmet but just clinging onto the little bit of his past he finally found, up until he properly gets his memories back if that is a factor in the equation.

So yeah, Emmet if I had to choose is my favorite but I really enjoy them both. They are a set, do not separate!!!

How did I discover them? That's actually a REALLY funny story, to me at least. I had already been aware of them in pokemon B/W, but I wasn't insane about the fellas, I just enjoyed gear station and Emmet made me want to die with the 50/100 battles won in a row AUGH. But when Legends Arceus came out, I started seeing a lot of art of some silly fellas I didn't recognize across my dash. The art was amazing most of the time if it was full pieces, but also the shitpposting really got my attention for how silly the twins just, look. Muppet men. So I went down the rabbit hole one day at like, 3 am, and much to my fiance's dismay, he woke up to me SPAMMING him with photos and art of the twins and infodumping about the lore and how "THERES A NEW GAME OUT I NEED TO PLAY IT RAAGH" (he has the game now and I've played it a little but I keep forgetting I actually don't really enjoy playing the pokemon games much, I just enjoy the lore) and then it spilled over into my work life, where I kept ranting about AUs as they were coming out (that future Emmet AU where he possesses his past self in an attempt to save Ingo? AUGH that one hurts so good, I need to write a fic about it) and now all of my friends and ex coworkers know me as the rando obsessed with pokemon men. Good times

And for fic recs, actually as unwell as I am about the twins I have not looked on ao3 or anything for fics??? Maybe it's because I'm a little scared of coming across something gross, I also get majorly squicked out about shipping the twins with other people just because it doesn't feel right in my brain, though theres a handful of exceptions (I really enjoy one of the AUs that Emmet and Elesa got together after Ingo disappeared and had a kid, only for Ingo to return very confused, that ones funny, though I do also heavily characterize that Emmet much differently than I do 'classic' Emmet)

But if you'd like to give me a prompt or just, something silly and domestic, I could TOTALLY write out a ficlet for you! I just, am in desperate need of ideas because for some reason I'm able to come up with nothing on my own right now (autism burnout ftw)

For lee, there are SO MANY. Cilan, Arven, Leon, to name a few, but my favorite would be Ingo because I love the idea of a character whose “gimmick” is not smiling and then making them smile. I’ve also written for Ingo the most, and he’s been a fun character to write for!

As for Ler, that’s another tough one. I like Akari, Emmet, Iono, and Archie, but I think my favorite would have to be Elesa because, in connection with Ingo, I really enjoy the (fan-canon) friendship of the two and the silly situations it can create.

rosa likes to make their lives a little easier by having a basket of useful things to use before going into work ready by the door! two heavy duty lint rollers for all the static-y joltik fuzz, some nice flowy fancy pens and stationary/notepads (how do u lose so many pens in a station. rosa is This close to putting some in their coat pockets jcbxjns), gum and mints just because, protein bars for when they accidentally forget to take a lunch or grab breakfast... they come home together n notice everything ready for the next morning and their hearts Melt ;w;

and the boys smile so big when rosa comes into the station to walk home with them at night and brings them a treat like tea/coffee in their favorite travel mugs and some cookies or a slice of a cake loaf he made earlier to munch on on the walk home ;3; all my s/is love to bake! and rosario often stops at the station after work to drop off some treats for the depot agents and the bosses so shes gained a Lot of favor with them jdvkvdbcs :D

i wanted to include ghetsis in my speculations bc i feel like he had a hand in whatever issue the king was having and probably pushed the rift between nobori and kudari. we haven't heard from him yet so its a sneaking suspicion 🤔 i also wanted to include allusions to kyurem since i mentioned the forest of mirrors as a boundary between wonderland and the real world and guess who's the boundary pokemon idk bulbapedia said it was a husk pokemon idk who that is *wink wink nudge nudge* and since our resident amnesiac kudari was there maybe it means something? i also wanted to make some comparisons between kyurem and the king but i felt it was getting wayyy out of hand hehe

also also as you can probably tell i believe that wonderland is very much a real place but it is also a product of a dream since gen 5 had that dream world mechanic dunno how that's gonna fit in the story but its a nice thought

I'm delighted to meet another Emmet simp! One of the big motivators behind 'I wish for truth' was for Emmet to not be a sad sad angsty depressed boy for once. Hence, him being a mysterious, powered up, bamf lol. I'm so very glad my story was able to provide that break from the *angst* that I myself was looking for.

I'm honoured to have someone so aware of my works! Communication on AO3 is relatively limited and I don't get much feedback aside from what's available on there (and social media ain't really my thing), so it's nice to know that there are people who notice and appreciate. The concept of having fans is still somewhat foreign to me cos all I'm doing is writing stuff... (that's all self-indulgent lolol). (btw, I still haven't shaken my habit of refreshing the Emmet tag on AO3 several times a day)
