Pov: You knew slashers, when you was a child (Slashers x fem!reader)
I'm back! Well, it os a lazy post from my drafts, until I end my new idea <3
TW: no
Characters: Thomas Hewitt, Brahms Heelshire, brothers Sinclair
P.S.: English is not my native language, so lot of these words was translated by simple translator, sorry for misspells and e.t.c.
Enjoy this!
Thomas Hewitt
The transition to a new school has always been a great stress for a child, especially in the middle of the school year.
You and your parents often moved from city to city. Maybe it was their work, or maybe they just wanted to show you as many different places as possible so that your childhood would remain really memorable — you didn't know. But the constant moving was followed by a change of schools and kindergartens. On the one hand, you liked it — new acquaintances, interests and a lot of positive emotions, after all, you were a cheerful and active child — but it also brought its inconveniences — you didn't have "best" friends, you had no more than a couple of months to communicate with each of them, and multiple the change of the team has made you a real chameleon in society.
You were ten years old when you and your parents moved to Texas. The age when most classes have already been divided into peculiar interest groups, which are quite difficult for a new person to join. That's why your mom decided to bake cookies that you could distribute to new classmates. Who doesn't like homemade cakes? You actively participated in the cooking process. A little more practice, and you could learn these cookies on your own. As soon as the treat was ready — several pieces were successfully taken away by your father — your mother beautifully put it in a colored box, now tied with a ribbon. The inscription "Welcome" was painted on the lid in gold paint.
It was very hot in this area of Texas. Therefore, on your first day of school, you decided to limit yourself to a beautiful white T-shirt with some simple pattern and black shorts. The first impression is the most important, right? Your mom took you to school by car. At the reception desk, your mom introduced you and found out the number of the right office. After kissing you goodbye on the cheek, she left you to your own luck. Although you were already used to it, a nervous feeling of anticipation bubbled somewhere in your chest; your palms were sweating.
After a good seven minutes, you were standing in front of the right class, 212, clutching a box of cookies to your chest. Adjusting the strap of the gray backpack, you exhaled anyway.
Your homeroom teacher, Mrs. Sullivan, introduced you in the office. A lovely woman with curly locks hanging down on both sides of her face and freckled cheeks. Her soft figure, dressed in a white blouse and a black pencil skirt, caused a surge of strength and confidence in you. The woman lightly put her arm around your shoulders, so motherly, and asked you to tell about yourself.
"My name is Y/N Y/L," your voice trembled slightly while your gaze ran over the children sitting in the classroom, "I'm ten. I like animals and beading... Mm, my parents and I move around a lot, so I don't think I'll stay here for more than two months. I hope we'll become friends."
You ended your performance with a sincere warm smile. Mrs. Sullivan asked you to take an empty seat. Your choice fell on the farthest place by the window; a guy was sitting behind it, hunched over and staring at the street. Was he weird? No, rather unusual. He had long black hair, so unusual for a boy; his gaze was lowered somewhere on the dusty road near the school, so you couldn't see his eyes. Sitting down next to him, you quickly took out a notebook and pencil from your backpack.
"Hello?"
The boy seemed startled by your voice. He looked at you uncertainly, and you saw a face wrapped in bandages. Sad cornflower blue eyes peeked out from under the white cloth.
"I'm Y/N," you whisper, holding out your hand to the boy, "And what's your name?"
There was no response. Disappointed, you lowered your hand, now paying attention to the teacher's explanation. The woman was writing down her words on the blackboard, and you quickly began copying them into your notebook, clutching a pencil until it crackled.
There was something about this boy that attracted you. It doesn't matter if it was his shyness or isolation — you decided that you definitely want to make friends with him.
At recess, you approached a group of girls. They were dressed up like girls from fashion magazines that you often saw in kiosks by the road.
"Hi," — you said with a light smile.
"Well, hello," said one of the girls, popping a bubble of gum.
"I want to ask. M, that boy," you pointed to the long—haired boy, "What's his name? I asked, and he ignored me."
"Haha, he won't answer you. That's our little Tommy," another girl hissed sarcastically, giggling, "Thomas Hewitt is weird. Very strange. I heard that his father is his brother!"
"And he's also a terrible freak!"
You awkwardly put your hand in your hair. Thomas didn't look as disgusting as the girls described him. It's all rumors. And what to take from these children, they probably didn't even try to talk to Hewitt!
You didn't talk to this company anymore. After waiting for lunch, when all the children went out to the garden at the school, you again approached the boy. He didn't budge. It seems he hasn't even written anything since you sat down next to him.
"Hey, hello?" you waved your palm in front of the guy's face, "Thomas, right?"
This time the boy paid attention to you. There was no emotion visible under the thick layer of bandages, but you were sure that he arched an eyebrow questioningly. He's wondering how you know his name?
"You were sitting alone, so I came over. Your name is Thomas, right?" you repeated the question, finally the boy nodded, "That's wonderful! I'm Y/N, let's get acquainted."
Smiling happily, you hand the guy an open box of cookies. Golden crust with chocolate chips. You had no desire to share such a delicious thing with such terrible and tactless people. And Tommy. Tommy was different. He was timid and calm, unable to cause harm.
"Help yourself," you babble, sitting down next to Hewitt, "I made them myself! Not without my mommy's help, of course..."
You blush slightly and see Thomas's eyes narrow. He smiled! He seems to be starting to like your company.
"Can I call you Tommy?"
• Thomas has become noticeably happier since you met him. The boy began to spend more time outside the house, in your company (Luda was very surprised by this, because usually after school Tommy always came home and sat in his room).
• For your birthday, Thomas himself sewed a soft toy for you, a fox, as he found out later, this is one of your favorite animals. The toy was sewn from different, but matching pieces of fabric, a little sloppy, but quite skillfully. It made you smile. You threw your arms around Hewitt for joy.
• Once you praise him, Tommy immediately blushes a lot. It's good that it's not visible under the layer of bandages. From the moment you became friends, Thomas's self-esteem has risen a little.
• When you first offered to help Thomas change the bandages, he strongly refused. The boy just couldn't let you see his face. But when he finally gave up, Hewitt was pleasantly surprised that you didn't scream and run away. You didn't call Tommy a freak or a monster, but only sympathetically stroked his scarred cheeks.
• Over time, you began to understand Thomas without words, absolutely. You found the right answers in his movements, grunting, awkward head turning or excessive gesticulation. Even Luda was a little amazed at your nonverbal communication, but the woman was glad that her son finally found a real friend.
• Tommy often showed you his drawings. It was like the scribble of a five-year-old child, but you were always happy to accept the leaves and hang them over your bed. Basically, Thomas drew his family: angry Charlie in the corner of the paper, Monty sitting next to him in a chair, a little further away, Luda was cooking, and in the center of the drawing you and Thomas holding hands and smiling.
• It was the first time you begged your parents to stay in this city longer. Fortunately, they agreed after seeing your enthusiasm for the "strange boy".
Brahms Heelshire
• Your parents and the Healers kept in touch for a while, you can say your families were very close. You first met Brahms on his fifth birthday. He was a very well-mannered but private boy, so Mrs. Heelshire was only too happy to introduce you.
• At first, your communication did not work out. Brahms was a rude child in places, took away your toys and teased you.
• His true attitude towards you showed up when you didn't come to his house, although you were visiting the Heelshire family every Monday and Wednesday. He was seriously worried. All morning Brahms sat in his room by the window and looked at the road going through the forest, waiting for your little body in your favorite blue dress to appear from behind the trees. But you were never there. It turned out that you were just sick. That day Brahms went to your house and did not leave your bed, squeezing your hot palm.
• Your parents worked most of the time, so they were not against your games with Heelshire Jr. You stayed in their house more and more often, sometimes even overnight, and you and Brahms made noise all night, forcing his mother to swear. But still, the woman was glad that at least Brahms was behaving quite comfortably and boldly with someone.
• You were only a couple of months younger than Brahms, but you thought it was a good reason to tease you.
• The boy allowed you to enter his room without knocking, consider it a worthwhile privilege, because Heelshire does not let everyone into his personal space.
• When you were sad, Brahms brought you bouquets of flowers hastily made with his own hands. That's why his palms were green most of the time.
• Brahms makes wonderful sandwiches. He often makes them when the two of you are having a "picnic" in the garden. Although in fact he agrees to it only to admire you.
• Heelshire loves sweets very much. Very. His mom doesn't allow the boy a lot of sweets and cakes, so you secretly bring them to him from home. The boy is insanely happy.
• Brahms loves kissing. This habit, or rather the need, appeared in him because you praised the boy in this way. Has he finally cleaned the room? A kiss. Did he break his mom's precious vase during the catch-up today? A kiss! So now he can demand them for any reason. He especially likes it when you kiss him before going to bed, and Brahms falls asleep hugging you.
• You're his best friend. That's why Brahms trusts you with all his secrets. You are the only one to whom he has told about the strange and frightening thoughts that sometimes sound in his head.
"Good night," Mrs. Heelshire said, turning off the light and closing the door behind her.
You smile and blow her a kiss, covering your mouth with your palm. When the woman's footsteps recede, you exhale with relief, plopping down on the pillow with force. Squinting your eyes, you wrinkle your nose, trying to blow away the stuck strands of hair from your face. Brahms giggles and gently tucks your hair behind your ear.
The room is cool. The window is slightly ajar, letting in a light autumn wind. The curtains are swaying from side to side, taking chaotic frightening shadows.
You get under the covers up to your nose. Brahms follows your example, pressing his whole body against you, and you stroke his head.
"If I ever do something very, very bad, will you stay with me?" Heelshire whispers, looking up at you.
You look into his sad emerald eyes and laugh. He likes to put pressure on your pity, because he knows that at such moments you see him as a tiny abandoned kitten.
"I don't think you'd do anything so bad, Brahms."
"But if I do. What if everyone turns away from me. Even mom and dad. Will you stay with me?"
You pressed your lips together, frowning. Brahms had never asked such strange questions before. And how can a child who is only eight years old think about something like that after a while. Looking down at the ceiling, you turned your head, looking into Brahms' eyes.
"Yes. I'll stay."
"Honestly?" Heelshire asks incredulously.
"Honestly."
"Promise?"
"Yes, I promise you, silly boy!" you abruptly cover his face with a blanket, holding the edges on both sides of his head.
The boy was kicking, trying to get out from under your weight, while you tried not to laugh. Taking pity on his futile attempts, you took off the blankets, admiring Brahms' flushed face. Heelshire was breathing heavily, and his cheeks and nose were burning like Chinese lanterns that your parents launched on your birthday.
"I won. Again," you grin.
Brahms is silent. You sigh and lie down again, turning your back to Heelshire. Your eyes are shining with joy, and your lips continue to curve in a smug grin. You know that Brahms will not dare to do something to you in return. He always let you get away with such antics. Absolutely always.
When you are ready to fall asleep, through the chatter in your head you hear a plaintive whisper. Having opened your leaden eyelids, you groan with displeasure.
"Kiss me," Brahms whines, and you get up on your elbows, chuckling softly.
"Okay," you kiss Heelshire on the lips, "Good night, Brahms."
• "Now I've won," Brahms croaks, pressing you against the wall and spreading his hands on both sides of your head. Just like a child. Except now he's not the victim here, but you. Although was he ever a victim in your games? Rather, he always played the role of a presenter, you just didn't notice it, as if you were looking through your fingers. And who would have thought that that innocent little boy would ever stand in front of you, towering over your body by a good two heads, and grinning with eyes shining in anticipation through the black slits of the mask.
Sinclairs
Christmas is the most mysterious and magical holiday of the year; the day when the whole family gathers at one big table to properly celebrate this moment together; the day when you receive a lot of gifts from all kinds of relatives, which you sometimes did not realize; the day when all wishes come true.
You clumsily shuffled along the road, shaking your back every now and then to adjust the heavy backpack. Things inside rattled a lot, and you tried to straighten your back faster to avoid crumpled packages.
Christmas was your favorite holiday. And although your parents have been working constantly lately, you were glad that you could spend this family holiday with your friends.
You met not so long ago, only about four months ago, when you first moved here. Ambrose turned out to be a very nice and cozy city with friendly and caring people. Mrs. Sinclair, Trudy, and your mom became friends right away— their interests converged on art. That's when I met her sons, the woman suggested that you make friends with them because of their similar age. And it turned out to be a very good idea. The boys quickly became addicted to you.
Once again adjusting the canvas straps of the backpack, you quickly climb the steps requested by the snow and knock on the sand-colored door several times. On the other side, there is a fussy shuffling and dissatisfied grumbling.
"Hello," you say, smiling, when the door swings open in front of you, revealing a view of the timid Vincent.
The guy nods to you and opens the door wider, motioning you to enter. You kiss Sinclair on the cheek of the mask. Brushing off your feet at the threshold, you quickly take off your shoes and leave your backpack at the shoe shelf. Music from an old radio is coming from the kitchen, some station unknown to you is playing old songs from the seventies. As soon as you entered the room, Vincent stood at the stove again, frying something in a frying pan. Whenever Trudy was busy making figures and arranging a museum that she someday wanted to open, it was Vincent who did the cooking and other household duties. Bo was stubborn and didn't want to do "women's" work, and Lester was still too young for such a large-scale activity. The latter was now sitting at the table and skillfully sliced an apple with a hunting knife into neat pieces.
"Morning, Lester," passing by the boy, you leave a small kiss on his forehead.
"Hi, Y/N!" Sinclair winces contentedly, flapping his big copper eyes.
You sit down next to the boy and imperceptibly take a piece of apple from under his nose, throwing it into his mouth contentedly. There were already several plates and cutlery on the table. Vincent loved order, so he prepared everything in advance.
"Where's Bo?" you ask, rocking slightly in your chair, for which you get a menacing look from Vincent.
"Mom asked him to help at the museum," Lester replied, "He should be back soon."
You notice how Vincent turns off the stove and turns his whole body in your direction. The guy takes a notebook lying on the table and quickly scribbles something.
"Have you had breakfast?"
"Yes," you say shortly, when Vincent closes the notebook and puts it back, "Honestly."
Sinclair puts the hot omelette on plates and pushes you a bowl of oatmeal cookies. You happily take one piece. Vincent sits down across from Lester and lifts the mask just enough to see his mouth. You frown, noticing the edge of his deep scar.
"Hey everyone," it was heard from the threshold, when the front door slammed shut with force, "Oh, honey, and you're here," Bo walks past you, lightly touching your shoulder in greeting, and sits down next to Vincent.
During brunch, you watch Lester and Bo actively negotiate. When their plates are empty, you decide to step in.
"Since everyone is here," you babble happily, clapping your hands to attract the attention of the guys, "I want to give you gifts a little earlier than planned, do you mind?"
"Of course not," Bo abruptly pushed away from the table, "I'm all for it, babe."
Bo winked at you playfully, to which you rolled your eyes. Vincent signed something, and you looked at Lester. Your sign language was not yet good enough to understand most of the phrases, you barely remembered the words of politeness. That's why you've always relied on little Lester at times like this.
"He said: "Why are you doing this so early?"", Lester explained, innocently blinking his eyes.
"What's the difference," Bo frowned, "Sooner or later — the main thing is that she gave."
You didn't comment on the elder Sinclair's words, but just got up from the table and went to your backpack resting in the hallway. When you came back, the brothers were already sitting in a kind of semicircle on the floor. Bo sprawled impressively closer to the sofa and grinned in anticipation; Lester, in his usual manner, sat cross-legged; while Vincent tucked his knees to his chest.
You sat down between the twins and put the backpack next to you, unzipping it. You said "Close your eyes" and, as soon as the boys fulfilled your request, you began to take out colorful boxes. All packages had the same color, different sizes. Alternately, you put the gifts in front of them and allowed them to watch. Lester giggled when he saw that his box was the biggest.
"Merry Christmas," you drawled, spreading your arms out to the sides.
The very first gift was opened by Lester. The boy happily tore open the package, scattering the paper around him, and screamed when he saw the cherished surprise. A big stuffed fawn. He had a soft beige body and neat brown horns sticking out in different directions. The muzzle was cheerful, with a big nose and shiny button eyes.
"I knitted it especially for you," you babble, smiling, when Lester looks up at you with an enthusiastic look.
"Thank you!" the boy throws himself on your neck with lightning speed, squeezing your body until the bones crunch; you stroke his back.
Bo was a little surprised when he saw a set of tools under the wrapper. He loved tinkering and was well versed in mechanics; the fact that you remembered about this hobby touched the guy a little; his lips curved in a slight smile.
"Well, thanks, babe," Bo grins, patting your hair.
You're pouting a little. All the time spent in the morning combing this tangled nest has gone to waste. You are dissatisfied with blowing off a few strands that caught your eye.
The last person to open his gift was Vincent. The boy very tenderly unwrapped the package, not trying to tear it, as if stretching and savoring this moment. You watched the deft but careful movements of his fingers with burning impatience. Finally, Sinclair took off all the paper, removing it from the side, and looked down at what he saw. A large set with colored pencils. Exactly the one that the boy looked at with undisguised envy in the window of an art store about a month ago. Did you remember that? With slightly trembling hands, Vincent takes the box and turns it in his hands. There were several more drawing pads under it.
Vincent looks at you, and you see the trembling gaze of his azure eyes in the slits of the mask. Such unbelievers, but at the same time grateful. You crawl up to the boy and hug him tightly, nuzzling his neck. Vincent lets out a ragged sigh.
"Merry Christmas to you, boys," you congratulate them once again, seeing the boys' satisfied smiles.
"So why did you decide to give it to us so early?" Lester asked, clutching the toy to his chest.
"Oh, that," you awkwardly fix your hair, "Well, my parents decided to leave. To another state. We'll leave tonight. So I thought I could have some fun with you now."
There was an oppressive silence in the room. You were afraid to look up, but you could feel the disappointment on the boys' faces. Your heart was painfully squeezed in your chest, from which you gritted your teeth with a creak.
"Will you come back?" Bo broke the silence.
"I don't know. Dad was offered a job in another state. Mom just said I wouldn't be able to see you."
You looked at each of the boys in turn. Vincent's head drooped, Bo's brows furrowed, and Lester's lips tightened into a crooked thread. The elder Sinclair sighed heavily.
"We'll be waiting. All together," he looked at you from under his brows, "Just try not to come back to us."
• Vincent loves sweets; but, often, Bo takes most of the goodies. That's why you put an envelope with several edible bracelets in one of the donated notebooks. Bo will probably consider them girly and will not take them away from his brother.
• You have been knitting a fawn for Lester for about five days; the boy is very happy with your gift. Your relationship is like a brother and a scary sister. He is always ready to rely on you; Sinclair is glad that he has such a caring person, unlike the same brothers (in particular Bo).
• Trudy adores you. You could say that in these few months she began to perceive you as her own daughter. You even know where the spare keys to the back door of the house are.
• Bo always tries to impress you as a self-sufficient high school student. He saw his father's old magazines with tackles, seduction and other materials not for children, so he decided to train on you. He didn't notice how he fell in love.
• Vincent is a good cook.
• Most of Vinnie's drawings in the new notebooks are you. He will paint your portraits for many years after your leaving.

"RSV"
The cold atmosphere surrounding the two men dampened the mood plenty, and the harsh coughs of the patient in front of them made it worse.
House had taken a case of a seven year old girl who hadn’t been able to walk since she was three. Whenever pressure was put on her left leg she would get a shooting pain all the way up to her spine.
No doctor knew why, other than that it was immovable and that she would probably never use it again. She and her mom had come into the clinic due to a respiratory infection, and House found her background ‘interesting.’
After a plethora of examinations and not-so-legal operations, he and his team found a tumor in her calf and in the middle of her spinal cord. How all of her other doctors missed them baffled the man, truly.
But that was how he was now sitting next to the girl showing her magic tricks as Wilson discussed with her mom possible treatments.
“We could remove them and the dead tissue that surrounds the tumors, but it’s a tough and long operation that doesn’t have the highest chance of working.” Wilson stated lowly to the crying woman.
“How high?” She choked out, wiping her eyes with a tissue.
“A good, twenty-percent chance.” He estimated and thought about the severity of the girl's illness. “Her respiratory infection also doesn’t help much in the process, but if we don’t take those tumors out now, they might not be able to come out at all.”
The mother looked over at her daughter and watched as House pulled out a card from behind her ear, and then she saw him flick the girl’s forehead when she said it was the wrong card. Her mother laughed slightly, and then looked back at Wilson.
“Where do I sign?” Wilson smiled at her words and nodded to the door, “I’ll show you the reception.”
=======
The woman came back to the room and hugged her daughter, kissing her forehead. “Are you ready to get better, sweetie?”
The girl nodded her head and grinned, a tear falling from her eye.
Wilson walked in and snorted at House, who had fallen asleep in the chair with cards spread out all over him.
“House.” He called out to the man, repeating it louder again. House still didn’t wake up, and Wilson scoffed before looking at the girl and the woman.
“It’s about to get a little loud.” He warned them before he stood in front of the girl and offered his hand out. She took it, and he used his other to take off a cord that connected her to her heart monitor. It beeped loudly, repetitively, and House jolted awake.
“Huh?”
“Welcome back, we almost lost you there.” Wilson said sarcastically, and House rolled his eyes. Wilson looked back at the girl, and he and House both grimaced when she coughed on his face.
“I am so sorry.” The girl said and covered her mouth as she finished coughing.
Wilson smiled tightly at her and connected her back to the heart monitor, “It’s all right, it happens more than you think.”
=======
“Where’s Wilson?” House barged into Cuddy’s office, completely ignoring the man she was with.
“House!” She scolded him, gesturing to the other man. “I’m in a meeting with someone. Knock next time.”
“Oh, really? In that shirt I thought you were trying to proposition him a little something-something, if you catch my drift.” He raised his eyebrows to punctuate his sentence and grinned.
Cuddy gritted her teeth, and excused herself from the other man before walking out of the office with House trailing behind her.
“Wilson is at home sick with RSV. I told him to leave when I saw him this morning with eyebags heavier than yours and when I heard him cough his lungs out in his office from outside his door.”
House looked at her and hummed before taking off without a word. The woman groaned and turned around, stopping one of the assistants. “Clock Dr. House out of work, please.”
=========
House lifted his cane up to Wilson’s door and knocked to the tune of ‘Shave and a Haircut’. He didn’t get a response, so he jiggled the handle and opened the door when he noticed it was unlocked.
“You know, I could kill and rob you right now.” He shouted out as he walked into Wilson’s living room. It was eerily quiet, and he didn’t like it. The man thudded his cane on the ground three times and heard a faint cough as three other knocks followed from Wilson’s bedroom wall.
House’s eyebrows furrowed and he went to see the sick oncologist, roughly opening the door and turning on the lights. “Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey.”
Wilson groaned loudly and grabbed one of his pillows to cover his head with, coughing underneath it. He groaned even louder when House poked him with his cane, right before House jabbed it into his side.
“Ow! House!” Wilson uncovered his head and looked at the other man, holding up his hand to the light above them. He coughed a bit, and House let out a quick ‘yikes’ when he saw just how bad Wilson looked.
The man in question had eyebags darker than his own hair, and his eyes were incredibly red and puffy. His lips were dry and cracked, and he had dried drool on his chin. His cheeks were red as well, and his hair was tousled like he just got thrown off a bull.
“Jesus Christ.” House murmured, taking in the sight of his best friend. The said man had only grunted and thrown his face back into his pillow, coughing into it.
“If you’re gonna gawk, at least turn the lights off.” His voice was muffled, but House understood it enough to flick the light switch and leave the room.
The man stood there for a second, staring at the door before going into the kitchen and grabbing Wilson’s keys from the glass bowl, and leaving to go to his own house.
=======
Wilson’s eyes opened when he heard his front door slam shut, and he inhaled deeply and sat up. He ran his hands through his tangled hair and carefully stood up, making his way to his bathroom. Washing his hands when he was finished with his business, he turned off the water and dried his hands while trying to sniff the air.
He couldn’t smell or breathe very well, but there was a slight smell of Thai food that caught his attention. He fixed his hair and left the bathroom, and wobbled to his kitchen, where he saw House sitting down on his sofa and eating noodles while watching ‘General Hospital.’
“Save any for me?” He croaked out and cleared his throat.
“Fridge.” Was the only thing House said through a mouthful of noodles, and Wilson made his way to his fridge.
He pulled out a box of more noodles, and noticed the grocery bag on his counter. He reached out for it, and pulled out a bottle of Nyquill, Aspirin, Tylenol, allergy medications, and Motrin.
He opened the bottle of Tylenol and grabbed two, tossing them into his mouth and fitting his head under the sink to down them with the tap water. He grabbed the Thai noodles and sat down next to House, digging into his food.
They both sat there in enjoyable silence until Wilson noticed all of the new pillows and blankets that sat on his reclinable sofa and spoke up.
“What’s all that for?” He mumbled through his noodles.
“Doesn’t matter.” House said simply, pushing himself off the couch with his cane and taking his trash and bowl to the kitchen. Wilson stared at the cushions and shrugged, continuing to watch the TV.
When he was finished, he got up and also took his bowl to the kitchen, and he coughed into his elbow as he placed his bowl in the sink. “Are you going to pay rent, at least?”
“Nope.” House popped the P and typed away on Wilson’s laptop, not bothering to look at the man. Wilson deadpanned at House until he decided to walk away and go back to his room, flopping onto his bed and falling asleep there.
The other man was searching for drug cocktails that he could inject his friend with to get him better, and he grinned devilishly when he found one that he had access to all of the drugs.
He leaned over slightly to see if Wilson’s door was open or not, and stood up and quickly made way to his bag when he saw it was closed. He pulled out what should have been a med-kit, and took out the drugs in it. He chose what he needed, and made sure all of the right ingredients were put into a syringe.
He slowly limped to Wilson’s room, opting out of using his cane so that he didn’t cause too much noise and wake him up. House opened his door carefully, and his nerves eased when he heard the loudest snore he’s ever heard in his life.
He ticked his tongue and made his way to Wilson, pulling out a sanitisation packet from his pocket. He lifted the sleeping man’s shirt and carefully rubbed it onto his back, freezing when he stirred. Pulling out the other packet, he wiped down the needle slowly and injected Wilson with the cocktail quickly.
He froze again, expecting Wilson to wake up and yell at him, but he didn’t. He was still fast asleep, and still snoring. House smiled in success and tossed the syringe into the trashcan by Wilson’s bed, and covered it up with crinkled tissues. He then left the room and closed the door, and went back into the kitchen where the laptop was.
House re-skimmed over the article with the side effects and he stopped when he saw something slightly alarming.
“Patient may fall unconscious for any time ranging from 16 hours to 2 days. Watch closely and monitor all the time. Any illnesses that the patient may have when the cocktail is injected will dimishness.”
“Shit.”
=======
Wilson woke up after twenty-six hours with cotton mouth, a diaper on, and no idea where he was until he saw House sitting on a chair reading a magazine.
“House?” He grumbled, lifting himself up to look at his clock. It was late, 1:24 in the morning to be exact. He looked back at House, and the man stood up and slapped the back of his hand onto Wilson’s forehead and held it there.
“Feels fine.” The man said, and he grabbed his cane and left the confused Wilson to his own devices.
Wilson didn’t know what happened, or what to do, so he chose to take a shower and freshen up. When he was done, he saw a glass of water on his bedside table and downed it immediately.
He sighed and stood there, unsure of what to do once again. That was until he noticed he felt much better than when he fell asleep.
He went to find House, and saw him in the kitchen again making what he assumed was an omelet. Staring into the back of House’s head, he felt that something was wrong.
He went to sleep with RSV and the worst headache and cough of his life, and now he felt like he could run a marathon.
“What did you do?” He questioned, and locked eyes with House when he turned around.
“What, no ‘thank you?’ No, ‘Oh my goodness, House. I feel so much better, thank you for your help and kindness?’” House mocked, tossing the omelet onto a plate and holding it out for Wilson.
Wilson felt iffy taking the food, but he still did and he sat down at the table as House served him a glass of orange juice.
“It’s two in the morning-” “I don’t care, eat your food.”
“M’kay.” Wilson didn’t argue and he grabbed his fork and ate, huffing down all of it and drinking every drop in the glass. “So, what’d you do?”
“I drugged you with seven different drugs.” House told him, grabbing Wilson’s plate and putting it in the sink before filling his glass back up with more juice. Wilson sat there and stared at him in disbelief, no words could come out of his mouth.
“Right.” Was the only word he could say, and he downed the drink in his glass. His mind was racing with many things he wanted to tell his friend.
He was in awe that he would put him so close to death, and that he would even think of doing such a thing that could one again, put him so close to death. It was insane of him to do, and he was flabbergasted. But what came out instead of yelling was,
“You cared that much?” House turned on the water to the sink and grabbed a sponge and soap and started doing the dishes, ignoring Wilson’s question.
That was the only answer Wilson needed, though, and he smiled at the back of House’s head.
“I’m telling your team when I go into work.”
“No the hell you aren’t!”
“Oh, yes the hell I am!”

Since Densi decided not tell the team in the finale can you please write a fanfic where they finally reveal the news!
The One Where It’s Twins
***
Kensi rubbed her hand over her lower abdomen, over the slight bump there. It had appeared at 11 weeks and grown a tiny bit each week. For the past six weeks, it had been their little secret.
“You know, we don’t have to do this today,” Deeks said from beside her, reminding her that they still sat in the parking garage, inside his truck and probably had been for at least five minutes. “We can wait to tell everyone you’re pregnant.”
“This bump says otherwise.” She framed her stomach again, emphasizing the bulge.
“Nah. You were baggy shirt, carry a big bag and they’ll never notice. Works on TV all the time,” Deeks disagreed teasingly.
“And maybe I should wear a parka too.”
“Only if you get transferred to a really cold post.”
“Yeah, that’s not happening.” Sighing, Kensi reached over to take Deeks’ hand. “No, it’s time. I can’t stay on limited field duty for much longer before someone starts asking questions. I guess I got used to it being just the three of us knowing and now it’s going to be the team, and my mom—”
“And my mom.”
Kensi huffed a soft laugh at his addition, sliding her hand up to cup his cheek. God, she loved him so much. Being pregnant, and all the new challenges it brought along, had only reinforced her affection for him.
“Yeah, it’s going to be a lot, and as much as I’m going to miss having this be our secret and sharing all of this with just you and Rosa, I’m also excited be at this stage. Our babies are going to have a lot of people who love them,” Kensi said, and Deeks squeezed her free hand.
“Yeah they will. Come one.”
***
Fortunately, everyone was already gathered on the bullpen, so they didn’t have to make a big production of it. They stopped, hands linked, between the two sets of desks, reminding Kensi of another time in their lives when they’d awkwardly announced they were moving in together.
The amount of progress they’d made since then was amazing.
Callen noticed them first, lifting his head with a teasing smirk. “Hey, I thought you guys were playing hooky. Sam and I leave for a couple weeks, and these guys think they can come in whenever they want.”
“Yeah, sorry about that,” Deeks apologized. “We had a couple things to discuss.” He shared a smile with Kensi, who just squeezed his hand in answer. “Um, actually we have something to share with you.”
He got four looks of concern, and quickly assured them. “It’s something good this time, I swear.”
Kensi offered Sam, who was sitting closest to her, a card sized envelope. Frowning, Sam untucked the flap, slipping out a picture. He studied it for several seconds, face inscrutable.
“Is this for real?” he asked finally, waving the sonogram in the air. “You’re pregnant?” Callen immediately leaned over his shoulder while Fatima and Rountree hurried closer.
“Yes,” Kensi confirmed, grinning like she did every time she thought of the life growing inside her.
“Oh my god! Congratulations, Kensi, Deeks. This explains why you’ve looked so radiant the last few months,” Fatima said happily.
“And the never ending food poisoning,” Rountree added in an undertone.
“Ah, on that note, I would like to formally state that I did not poison Kensi with my shawarma,” Deeks spoke up.
“He’s been very firm on that point. Though I suppose I understand since I was pretty nasty about the whole old takeout thing.” Kensi inclined her head.
“Congrats,” Rountree echoed Fatima. “So, how far along is Baby Deeks-Blye?”
“15 weeks,” Kensi answered, sharing a knowing look with Deeks. They were 99% certain about the night of conception.
“And actually, it’s babies,” Deeks corrected. “As in multiple.”
“Oh no. You guys are not having twins,” Sam said, shaking his head emphatically. “The world is not prepared for that amount of craziness.”
“He means congratulations,” Callen interpreted, reaching out to shake Deeks’ hand, and then gave in and offered each of them a one-armed hug.
“I’m joking. Not about the crazy part, but, I am happy for you guys. No one deserves it more,” Sam told them. He hugged Deeks, briefly squeezing the back of his neck affectionately and then tucked Kensi against his chest. “And they’re going to be two lucky kids to be born into a family like yours.”
“Thank you,” Deeks whispered. Kensi was too moved to do more than hug Sam more tightly.
***
A/N: In this scenario, Kensi and Deeks have not resigned or moved to different positions yet.
Stay tuned for a small part 2 tomorrow.
Thanks for the prompt!

Mama Chapter Twelve
A/N: Inbox is open! And please let me know if you want to be on the taglist for this series.
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Mom! Avenger! Reader

“You’re joking!” Wanda exclaimed loudly enough for me to shush her and remind her that Lillith was taking a nap.
She leaned closer to Natasha and yell-whispered : “Please tell me you at least got a photo of that!”
Natasha just grinned and showed her the phone screen, which made Wanda gasp and grab it to show me.
Apparently Bruce and Tony did something in the lab because both weren’t wearing shirts. And from what I could glimpse of the photo before Wanda whisked it away again, was that both of them were covered in a blue powder.
“Do I want to know what happened?” I asked as I dumped another cup of flour into the bowl.
“All I heard was yelling and then when I went to look, both of them stood apart from each other covered in it.” She replied.
I hummed as I worked the yeast mixture in with the flour, and then returned the flour back into the cupboard. Getting the oil and salt from the same cupboard, I turned and quickly measured it into the bowl. I knew I had some work I wanted to get started on soon but with the meeting tonight and the fact that Clint wasn’t here and he asked specifically for me started my anxiety ramping. I had a feeling this was one of those missions that he was pulled aside by the team for and told that someone else would step in because it was too dangerous, and that he’s got a family, and since I’ve barely been on a handful of missions since I joined the Avengers (Due to time and Lillith) this would be a major one.
That’s not to say that I was more replaceable than Clint was ; I understood the need for me to go on this mission despite my daughter. I was a supersoldier, and I’ve been through hell and back several times. It was a proven fact that I could survive things a normal human couldn’t.
I remember one of the mission briefing folders I went over when I first joined. I had spent about a week gathering information beforehand on the team. One of the files I pulled was about what was priority if a mission went south really quickly. The main goal was for everyone to walk out alive, but in this case it was Sam and Clint first, because both didn’t have a full metal suit protecting them all the time and weren’t wearing decent armour due to their skillsets. So those two would be first, then it would be Tony and Wanda. Tony because despite the tin man’s suit, he was still a regular human. And a slightly old one at that. Wanda because she was deemed the best ‘asset’ to shield, with her set of...abilities. Then it would be us, the soldiers, then Hulk and Thor.
Honestly the reports and such on how the missions were supposed to be conducted were pretty smart, and would be extremely effective if anyone actually paid any attention to them.
I mixed in the ingredients and shook out some flour from a bowl onto the countertop. God, I love having a kitchen island. Bread is so much easier to make. I dumped the bread mix onto the counter and put the bowl in the sink, and started the process of kneading the dough until it was a soft, squishy ball.
Wanda and Natasha discussed what exactly happened in the lab, and if Stark and Banner might be trying to hide something from the rest of the team, and I turned my focus inwards, trying to remember the list of tasks I needed to finish for this job.
They wanted it color coded and be able to run the site the same on mobile as on computers, as well as the possibility of an app. Man, an app would take awhile to make. How much are they paying me again? If it’s not over-
“Oh. Hi everyone!” Chirped a slightly sleepy voice from the right of me. I turned my head to see Lillith, a blanket around her shoulders and hugging her wolf close to her chest. I smiled at the site of her blearly rubbing her eyes before checking the clock on the far wall. She’d slept for almost two hours.
“Hey, babydoll.” I said as she came up and peered over the counter to see what I was doing.
“Bread!” She exclaimed, jumping up and down.
I laughed, “Yes, bread.” I said as I slapped it down again and started folding it into a ball.
“Hey Lillith, you wanna watch some movies?” Wanda asked her. She nodded and followed her into the living room as I put the ball into a greased bowl and covered it with a damp towel.
Natasha was still on her phone as I cleaned up the counter and washed my hands, and then as I switched laundry.
I moved to my working area near the bay windows and set a cup of coffee down and booted up the system, as I stretched and glanced at the clock.
Better get going.
~~
The next few hours were busy, and ended with me getting up to get another cup of coffee only to learn that there wasn’t any more. And it was almost seven. Wanda had made some dinner and Lillith was watching a disney movie with her on the couch, and Natasha was on her laptop-When she went and got it was beyond me-at the kitchen counter.
I put my hair up and washed my hands, then took preheated the oven and floured the table.
“Mind if I ask what you’re working on?” I asked her as I shook the dough out of the bowl. She looked up at me and raised an eyebrow,
“Honestly nothing much. Mostly just research for tonight’s meeting.” She replied as she sipped her water.
“Should I be worried about it?” I asked her.
She shrugged. “I honestly don’t know. Our last mission scratched the surface of a bigger Hydra hole, and from the look of it, it’s gonna take several outings to exterminate them all.”
“Damn. That bad?”
“Unfortunately, yeah.” She replied.
I shook my head and started to work the dough. Finally getting it to the consistency I needed, I greased and floured a bread pan and dropped the dough in it. The beep from the oven told me it was ready to be put in, and I set the time for twenty five minutes. I cleaned up the counter and did dishes, then went and switched some laundry and busied myself until it went off again.
Finally the timer went off and I took it out of the oven and turned it off, and let it cool off before I transferred it to a cutting board.
I washed up in the meantime and setup another movie for Lillith. Kissing her forehead, I left with the girls to head to the meeting.
~~
“In English, please.” I told Steve as he finished his story about the previous mission.
“Basically we uncovered a long-term operation by Hydra. We thought it wouldn’t take much but it got to the point where we had to retreat because of how overwhelmed we were getting. And now we need to go back to finish the job, if they haven’t moved on yet. That, and the fact that we know there are two secondary locations we will need to ‘visit’ later.” Bucky summarized.
“And my role in this is..?” I asked.
“You’re taking my place.” Clint said. He was on call with us, and I could faintly here the kids in the background.
“How bad are we talking?” I asked him.
“Angel of Death bad.” He told me.
I took a deep breath and steeled myself, letting the process of my instincts take over.
“Okay.” I replied.
“Angel of Death?” Bruce asked.
“Back when I was in the Marines, my callsign was ‘Angel of Death’. When I was put onto my…special squadron the name carried over. It’s one of the reasons why Fury asked me to join.” I told him.
“Are we talking like my bad, or how bad does it get?” Bucky asked.
I looked to him. “If I switch into that headspace it’s going to be bad.” I answered. He nodded in response.
“Let’s go over the plans again. We’re leaving at four tomorrow morning.” Steve said.

Snitches two
Danny purred up a comforting storm, but Patches didn’t need it for long. The second that the Mother got home, Patches did her best to get out of Robin’s arms and back to mom, crying piteously. Robin hung back and stroked Danny’s head while the big pointy ears guy talked with the mom.
Then they were off. Danny found himself strapped inside of Robin’s shirt somehow. He wriggled just his face out enough to see that they were up high again. Like, really high. His angle made it hard to see down with his upward-placed cat eyes, but he could see the night sky. He rumbled his appreciation and tried to knead at Robin to express his happiness, but he was awfully squished.
It was extremely pleasant.
‘Robin is not a bad guy to hang out with until either I transform back or until someone comes to get me,’ Danny decided. That was when their trajectory changed downwards. After a few heart stopping seconds, Danny heard Robin’s boots tap down on the street.
Then, a car door opened. Robin got in the backseat and shut the door on jazz hands guy, who sighed about it but got in the front seat with ears guy.
Haha. Losers, Danny thought, and scent marked Robin’s chin. His whole body collapsed again with the expert scritching that Robin applied to his ears, and then the long strokes down his spine. He had never actually been this happy before.
“Batman?”
Danny full-body jumped at the sound from the speaker. He did not like that!
“It is merely Oracle,” Robin muttered quietly. He stroked Danny’s flank reassuringly. “She is part of our team.”
Danny appreciated the explanation.
“Change of plans.” Earsies started the car and hit the gas hard. “We are making a detour back to the Batcave before commencing the operation.”
“Did something go wrong?” Oracle asked.
Jazz hands spoke over ears. “Not at all,” he said cheerfully. “In fact, we’re bringing home a new kid!”
No less than three voices started talking at once on the radio. Danny immediately yowled. The cacophony only lasted a millisecond before someone up front turned it off.
“He does not care for the extra chatter on the comms.” Robin scratched the underside of Danny’s chin. It took a moment to relax into the attention. “That is because you are a noble and superior creature. Is that not so, Snitches? You are wiser than Brown and Todd combined.”
Danny purred, shutting his eyes. Hell yeah. He was a wise creature.
“Please don’t put your siblings down,” said ears.
Danny stuck his tongue out in response. Robin didn’t bother with an audible answer either.
The Batcave turned out to be as dark, spooky, and echo-y as the name implied. Danny let Robin take him out of the car and set him down on a seat with a cushion. He knelt to make eye contact. Danny blinked and sat up a little straighter.
“I must away to work,” Robin said. “This chair is mine. Please remain on it and do not interfer with Pennyworth’s tasks. As you are my responsibility, I must keep your fur on my belongings. Is this acceptable?”
Danny nodded solemnly and then stole a head bump. Robin then moved the chair to have a better view of a large computer, manned by one adult male. He got one more stroke before Robin got back in the car and the three left.
The old man looked at Danny. He looked severely unimpressed. “If you shed hair on the keyboard, I will be extremely disappointed.”
Danny sniffed and pretended to be absorbed in licking his flank. How rude. He knew better. Robin had asked him to stay put.
He spent a while in a little cat donut, head resting on his own ass. Danny dozed like that. Sleeping felt soooo good in this body. He should have done it earlier. He should do it all the time. No one was asking him to do any homework or paperwork. This life was great.
When he eventually woke up, it was because his ears were pricking. “Mrao?” Danny asked the old man. He got an unhappy glance, but no explanation for the faint percussive sounds of a fight coming through the speakers. He peered up to see what action movie the computer was playing, and was baffled to see one window of what looked like security footage over a parking lot and a whole screen of scanned paperwork.
Boring!
He took another nap.
“You are a very well-behaved cat,” the strange old man mused at one point when Danny dozed awake. He gave a biiiig yawn that he knew showed off all of his excellent teeth.
“Yes, well, that may be so.” Pennyworth was probably him, Danny realized, awfully belated.
He had the faint sense that he should be concerned about how long it had taken him to process that. On the other hand, his brain was like, the size of a walnut now. All that Danny really needed to know was that it felt increeeee-dible to stretch out his toes and dig the claws into Robin’s cushion. Ooh, yeah, that made good chemicals in his brain. Danny rippled into a back-arching stretch, then stood up, turned around, and laid down in bread loaf mode pointed at the big computer screen.
“They shall be returning soon. I suppose you will sleep in Master Damian's room.”
Danny gave a big yawn and then flicked over to make eye contact, just to show he was listening.
Alfred wasn't even looking at him. He was focused on the screen. “I will get my 7 hours of sleep, and then… hmm. We do not have cat food in the house.” He looked a little displeased. “Perhaps I must arise early and purchase supplies.”
Danny made a negative sounding “Nyang,” flicking his ears. Anything was fine!
There was a pause. The old man looked at him, expression inscrutable. “I suppose I could thaw salmon from the freezer for your breakfast.”
Sounded good. Danny licked his lips and looked back at the screen.
“If only all my charges were as compliant as you,” Alfred lamented. When Danny made a listening noise, he continued. “Master Bruce has a terrible habit of returning to the Batcave to work, after I've gone to bed.”
Sounded unhealthy. Danny flicked his ears back and fell asleep. He woke up to a familiar voice saying: “I am going to touch you, Snitches.”
Danny yawned his eyes open and sleepily looked at Robin. Robin! He purred furiously, standing up on the cushion. He pushed his head against Robin's hand.
“An extraordinarily well-mannered cat,” Alfred remarked as he stood. “If that will be all, excuse me.”
“Goodnight, Alfred,” said the big ears guy. He also took off his ears revealing:
He was just some middle-aged schmuck.
Disappointing. Danny sighed. He craned his head to see what the jazz hands guy looked like. He was- yesss, he was hot. Danny made an approving chirp. Then he looked expectantly at Robin. Well? Show me your face!
Robin took off his mask and armor as well, leaving him in a sports underlayer.
Robin was a teenager! He was so cute! Danny purred at new volume as he was expertly carried up a flight of stairs and into a bedroom. “You will sleep on this pillow,” Robin said, putting Danny on it. “I apologize for the lack of facilities. I have sent for a feline toilet and other accoutrement, but I do not expect their arrival within the next twenty minutes. I will shower now.”
Danny waited a while for Robin to get settled into the shower. Then he phased directly through the closed door and trotted off to explore the mansion he was in.
He tracked his way back to the office that Robin had entered the main house through. It was really far away- as in, a different wing and floor of the house from Robin's bedroom. He sniffed around, cataloging scents. Ears spent the most time in that room. Danny followed where Ears’ scent was the strongest back to a closed door. He arrived in time to see it click open and a freshly showered man in sweatpants stealthily step out into the hall.
Danny watched him.
Ears noticed him and he jumped. “Jeeze!”
Hmm. Danny tilted his head to the side. That was an awfully quiet exclamation. Sus. Sus, old guy. Danny was onto him.
“Excuse me, cat,” said the man, and started walking silently back to the room with the cave entrance.
Hmm, no. Danny kept pace and let out a questioning chirp.
The man flinched. “Shh, kitty,” he tried to soothe. “I promised I'd go to bed.”
Oh. Oh, well that changed things. Danny stopped walking and threw his head back to yowl at the top of his lungs.
“Hell,” said the guy who could only be Bruce, in the instant before a door threw itself open and an entirely new young man darted out into the hallway.
The new man surveyed the situation. Danny screamed again, enjoying how the blood had drained from Bruce's face.
“What the- when did we get a cat?” He winced and put a hand over the ear that was closest to Danny. Hehe. “Bruce, you're-”
He cut himself off.
Bruce looked caught. “Did you sleep well, Tim?” He asked meekly.
Tim gave Bruce an unpleasant smile. “Go to bed. It would be super hypocritical to exceed your own limits, given that you forced me to take tonight off for no reason.”
“The reason is that you're medically compromised - please, cat, I am begging you to be quiet.” Bruce cut himself off mid argument to kneel in front of Danny.
Danny stopped for a moment. He made eye contact.
Bruce looked relieved. “Tim, listen. I know it doesn't seem fair-”
Sonic attack! Danny yowled again, throwing his head back and really going for it. He needed an adult! He needed a more powerful adult to enforce the rules! He dug all four sets of toes into the carpet, barely resisting the urge to use his claws.
“Master Bruce! What are you doing to that poor cat?”
Alfred! Hi! Danny stopped yowling and made a polite chirp of acknowledgement as the older man emerged, obviously in his nightclothes.
Alfred looked at the tableaux. He gave Danny a speculative look. Then he fixed his gaze on Bruce.
“...Goodnight, Alfred, Tim.” Bruce's eyes cut to Danny. His lips thinned. “Cat.” He quick-stepped back inside his room. The lock clicked.
In the silence, Tim's snicker sounded really loud. “I'm going back to bed, too.” He knelt to hold his hand out to Danny. Danny sniffed at it and then scent marked it. “What's the cat called?” He started petting. Oh, hell yeah.
“Snitches, I believe.”
Tim laughed again. “Apt. Goodnight!”
Alfred echoed the greeting and then it was just the two of them in the dark hall. He looked down at Danny. “Well done,” the old man said quietly. “Shall I escort you to Master Damian's room, or will you walk alone?”
Danny shook his head no, he didn't need an escort, meowed his own goodnight, and trotted off. He returned while the water was still running and settled in, back on top of the bed.
This was a good family to stay with.
Snitches the cat and his favorite bat
I wrote up dpxdc fics based off of prompts I happened to see in the last day to add to the reading pile for anyone who didn't prep for the archive down time today.
Snitches the cat comes from @garbagewith-a-cherryontop (I think??? I couldn't find a definite first post!) but the fantastic linked post is the one with how I think Snitches the cat looks here.
Word count is 1053.

“Ugh- that's not- did we just summon a demon cat?”
“It's so messed up looking. Ew.”
Danny blinked and swayed on his feet. He'd had a tail a minute ago, speeding across the GZ to check in on Walker. There had been an unpleasant lurch in his stomach. And now he was on his feet. All four of them.
Wait, what?
“You fucked this up.”
His ears twitched at the sound of a slap. Danny swiveled towards the sound and then got distracted by the feeling of his ears swiveling back. Whaaaaat?
He looked down at his precious little feeties. They were adorable paws.
“Oh, you motherfuckers,” he said. It came out as a conversational yowl.
The humans looked at him from about ten feet away and five feet up. “Annoying…”
He was pretty sure they were high schoolers. There were five of them, two girls and three boys. They were all bigger than him. High schoolers were usually bigger than he was, but this was just ridiculous.
“Count yourself lucky, dimwits,” one of the older kids said. He took a step towards Danny. Danny pressed his ears flat against his head and hissed at the approach. “If you managed to sacrifice Patches to a demon, your Mom would straight up murder you.” He laughed when he said it, like anything about that was remotely funny.
Uh- what now?
Only now, Danny noticed a very distressed calico cat underneath a laundry basket on the other side of the room. There was a stack of textbooks weighing the basket down. A large rug had been rolled up and- he sneezed rapidly, eyes watering. Chalk! They'd drawn on the floor with chalk!
‘This is some incompetent summoning,’ Danny realized, way too late. ‘Did they- how did they turn me into a cat?’ He looked at his unfortunate brethren under the laundry basket. Her ears were flat against her skull and she looked scared.
He remembered the word “sacrifice” and his blood flushed hit with fury. They'd wanted him to eat her! They'd wanted something to eat miss Patches!
The teenagers froze and looked at him, aghast at the angry sounds that were coming out of his throat.
“Shut up!” One hissed. She took off her shoe and threw it at him. Danny dodged and then threw his head back to yowl even louder. Sonic attack! Aural damage, you big jerks!
“The neighbors are going to- make it shut up!”
Danny had to run, dashing over furniture and tearing his way across a crowded table to avoid being grabbed. He screamed the whole time, eager to alert whoever they were so afraid of. Someone should see!
The window burst in.
Danny stopped running, shocked. He hadn't actually expected-
Someone snatched him up from behind and smacked him on the face with a palm. His jaw exploded with pain. It cut off his yowling.
Stunned. He was still for a moment and then he struggled for his life. The grip on his ribs was way too tight-
He looked over at the sound of a sword being pulled from a sheath. Holy shit, that was bomb as hell. His eyes went wide at the sight of a heavily armored small child crouched on the windowsill. The boy's eyes were covered, but Danny could still see him look at Danny and the poor calico under the laundry basket. He sneered.
“Unhand the cat or lose your hands at the wrist, you wretch.”
Danny loved him.
The teenager dropped him. Danny caught himself with a stumble. He let out a sad mraow before he could stop himself.
Fight club baby was enraged. “What have you done to this animal?” He hopped down into the room, revealing he was at least a foot shorter than the smallest girl in the room.
Danny trotted to him and started winding around his ankles admiringly. What a good kid! He purred.
“I will be taking both of your cats with me. If you ever harm an animal again, it will be your head that is found in a chalk-”
“Robin.” A hugeass grown man squeezed himself through the window that the kid had broken. Danny craned his head up, up, up, to see him case the joint.
The older man radiated incredible judgment. “I see that you require education on animal welfare and demonic summoning. Go on, Robin.”
“That's my Mom's cat!” One of the teenagers protested. “You can't take her!”
Robin growled at her. Danny jumped in his skin at the sound.
“Then we shall return it to your Mother and her alone, when we explain what you've done.” Danny let murder baby scoop him up and purred at full volume. Hell yeah. He looked at the cowering teenagers with condescension.
“Not that fugly thing.”
Danny blinked. He ended up making an inquisitive mraow. Why was a finger being pointed at him? He was baby.
“That thing showed up, you can get rid of it. But Patches is Mom's cat, and you can't steal a cat because-”
“Batman can steal any cat!” Robin bit out, gathered up Patches, and jumped out the window with both cats in an expert grip.
That didn't sound right, but Danny just enjoyed the night air as a line pulled Robin up to where yet another masked vigilante was waiting, cackling himself to tears.
“Batman can steal any cat,” he wheezed. “Brilliant. Good detour, Robin. Can I hold one?” He held out his blue-striped palms expectantly.
He faltered when he saw Danny, visibly surprised.
Danny… was starting to feel bad. He curled into Robin, hurt. He wasn't ugly. Why did people keep reacting to him weird?
“No,” Robin said curtly. “You have damaged his pride, and Patches is still reeling from her shock.”
The man let out a sigh but let the topic go. “That's Patches, and this is…?”
Robin hesitated. “He is the Snitch.”
That unlocked cooing. “Snitches? Snitchy Snitch Sni- ow!”
Danny snapped at the hand that came way too close and he let out a warning growl. No baby talk!
Robin seemed very pleased. He rubbed behind Danny's ears. “Snitch… I suppose that Snitches will suffice. We are taking him home.”
“....Maybe, just for fun, we should take him to get treated for mange first!” The guy made jazz hands to go with his statement.
Robin and Danny both growled that time.

The first time Fred Weasley thought "bloody hell, this must be the happiest day of my life" - which he could remember - was in a summer of 1985 when Bill and Charlie taught him and George how to play Exploding Snap. The second was when he started his studies at Hogwarts in September 1989. The third was the following year when he and George were accepted into the Gryffindor’s Quidditch team as beaters. The fourth time was on a winter's afternoon in 1993 when he had his first kiss. The fifth was when the dream of opening a joke shop with his twin had become even closer to reality after Harry gave them the Triwizard Tournament prize. The sixth was in a 1995 night when he lost his virginity. The seventh time was the day Weasley's Wizard Wheezes opened at Diagon Alley in 1996. The eighth was in May 1998 with the defeat of Lord Voldemort. The ninth was when he met you on a spring morning in 2001. The tenth time was when you agreed to go on a date with him a few days later. And since then, Fred Weasley had lost the count.
But he remembered the most special days.
The day you kissed. The first night you spent together. The lunch his mother prepared at the Burrow so that you could be introduced to the Weasley family. When you finally said "I love you" to each other. That afternoon you agreed to have a picnic, but you didn't check if it would rain and came home soaked. The next morning that Fred woke up sick and you made him some soup. The time you two couldn't sleep then you stayed up all night talking while drinking hot chocolate. When Fred asked you to marry him on the first day of a new year. That summer day in 2004 when you and Fred said "I do" and made a vow to love each other for all eternity. The dinner where you revealed that you were pregnant with your first child together. The day Maeve Weasley was born and your world had changed completely. And since then, Fred Weasley went to sleep every day thinking, "bloody hell, this must be the happiest day of my life."
He was enchanted with every little moment.
Fred was thrilled the moment he hold Maeve for the first time and nested her in his arms; he pressed a delicate kiss on her forehead, feeling that newborn baby smell and watching her sleep peacefully, finally realizing that she was his baby - his baby to care for, to protect, to love; his daughter.
He remembered the first time Maeve opened a toothless smile, that she babbled something in the baby’s language, when she ate solid food when she was six-months-old and ended up with banana puree - made by mommy - all over her face, the way she clapped her hands when she heard Hermione singing muggle’s nursery rhymes, when she took her first steps two weeks after her one-year birthday. Fred was not ashamed to admit that he cried when Maeve first called him "Daddy", that he got emotional every time she lay on his chest and fell asleep there as if it was the most comfortable place in the world, of how he couldn't stop smiling silly while watching her dance "head, shoulders, knees and toes". Since Maeve was born, Fred Weasley thought he couldn't be happier.
But you got pregnant again; and in 2008, Alexander Weasley was born - better known as "lil’ Alex".
And Fred was, once again, in heaven.
Just like happened with Maeve, he was enchanted by his son from the moment he heard that little weeping for the first time; he couldn't help but be amazed to see that the e/c color of your irises were reflected in Alex's eyes, that his nose was very similar to his father's and that he had much more hair than his sister when she was born - and once again, he had fallen in love with that newborn baby smell.
Fred's heart melted completely when he saw the scene of you in bed holding Alex in your arms while Maeve was sitting next to you, her neck stretching so she could see her little brother more closely; he opened a broad smile with that vision, the vision of his family - his to care for, to protect, to love, his family.
That day, Fred sat next to you on the bed, taking Maeve on his lap and placing his arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer to his body; he remembered the way you looked at him with a tender smile decorating your face and said: "you and I make beautiful babies," but before he could answer, Maeve exclaimed: "but Alex looks like smashed potato!”. Fred used his free hand to tickle his daughter briefly, who let out an angelic laugh and squirmed in his arms, saying: "not the tickle monster, Daddy!", he laughed once again, kissing Maeve's fluffy cheek; his heart seemed to barely fit inside his chest of how much love he felt at that moment. Then, your head rested on his shoulder, Fred turned his head to give you a long kiss on the temple; you, in turn, lifted your face towards your husband, sealing your lips in a very short but passionate kiss - passion for the beautiful family you built together, for the life full of joys that awaited you and without forgetting, of course, the overwhelming passion you still felt for each other.
It wasn't always easy.
Despite the joys that fatherhood brought in your lives, conciliating raising your children with your jobs and the marital relationship was something that sometimes you failed at. Sometimes you fought for silly reasons, other times for more serious issues, but you never forgot that in the first place you loved each other.
The worst fight you and Fred had was when the two of you were facing difficulties at work, and without even noticing it, you started to take your frustrations out on each other; you both spent a whole day not talking - just talking about your children - but in the late afternoon, when you and the redhead were distracted with work matters while Maeve and Alex were playing in the middle of the living room, your daughter shouted cheerfully: "Mom, Dad, look! Alex likes when I dance!", the two of you immediately dropped the papers you were reading and watched the scene before your eyes: Maeve - with 3 years-old - was making extravagant ballet moves and Alex - who had just completed 8 months - was sitting on the fuzzy carpet, applauding his sister with a smile of few teeth decorating his face. At that moment, your eyes met with Fred's, and as if you were having a mental conversation, you two agreed: "No work in this world was more important than this: Maeve dancing ballet while Alex applauded". When the children slept, you had a long talk and made up in the best possible way: in bed.
And you were fine. Better than just fine; you and Fred were happy with the life you built together. And even if some days weren't so good, the redhead would still sleep thinking that he had lived the happiest day of his life because it was one more day by your side while raising your children together, because it was one more day with his family.
Today, Fred felt exhausted; he and George stayed until later at the shop because they needed to make an inventory of their products, and even though they had several employees so they didn't need to overload themselves with work, that task was something they didn't trust anyone else to do but each other.
As soon as he arrived at his home through Floo Network, Fred was surprised that there was nobody in the living room and that no three-years-old girl jumped on his arms saying: "Daddy, Daddy, you're home!", but he heard laughter coming from the upper floor. He took off his shoes and socks, leaving them in the corner, and went upstairs; Fred followed that familiar sound and stopped in front of the bathroom suite you two shared, which was with the door ajar.
For a moment, he allowed himself to watch the scene: inside of a huge white ceramic bathtub, were his wonderful children and sitting on a stool right next to it while holding Alex - who had already completed one year old - with both hands, you were wearing only a simple t-shirt and cotton shorts, your hair was in a tight bun on the top of your head; you were laughing while looking at Maeve, who was pretending to be a fish and imitating Dory's line in "Finding Nemo" when was speaking whale - you two really thanked Hermione for all the childish entertainment she introduced to you over the years -; the little girl was talking to Alex - who was supposed to be the whale.
"Ah, so you’re there" Fred said with a broad smile on his face; Maeve exclaimed an excited "daddy", splashing drops of water on all directions when she jumped. "I thought I was abandoned" he joked, walking towards the bathtub, and squatting close to where you were. "Hi, baby."
"Hi, love" you answered, smiling sweetly and leaning slightly towards your husband so you can greet him with a peck on the lips.
Fred also greeted his children, saying tenderly: "Hi, little princess. Hi, little prince"; you two chatted distractedly while watching your children play in the bathtub - Maeve still pretended to be a fish and Alex played with a rubber duck.
"How was your day?" he asked.
"Normal" you shrugged. "Nothing new, which is a relief."
"That's good. And how are our little angels?"
"They've had dinner, played a lot and now they're taking a bath to go to bed. Did you have dinner?"
"Yes, I ate something at the shop with George." Fred placed a hand on your knee, squeezing it gently. "I'm sorry for staying..."
"Don't apologize" you interrupted him. Your husband had never helped you to take care of the children; he had never helped you because that was his job too - he wasn’t “helping” you; he was taking care of his kids. Fred never expected compliments or medals for putting his children on bed, for giving them food, for waking up in the middle of the night when they were crying or for changing diapers; he knew that those were his responsibilities as much as they were yours. "I know" you sent him a reassuring smile. Days like this when you and Fred didn't do those things together were very rare - after all, you were partners for life.
"Thank you" your husband smiled.
"And what about your day? Could you finish the inventory?" you asked.
He let out a tired sigh, watching Alex chewing on the rubber duck. "Well... yes, but not everything. I still need..."
"Daddy!" Maeve demanded his attention, interrupting him. "Look what I can do!" she said before immersing her head in the water for a short second before pulling it up again, her hair sticking to her cheeks as she wiped the water off her face. "See?" she opened her eyes and looked at her father, waiting for his answer.
The redhead didn't take long to react, quickly applauding enthusiastically. "Wow, princess! You truly are a little fish! Did you see her, Mommy?" he looked at you.
"I did, Daddy!" you smiled. "Our little Maeve already is a big girl!"
Fred got rid of his jacket and tie, rolled up his sleeves to his elbow and sat on the bathroom floor, standing next to the bathtub as he listened intently to his daughter tell him about her fun day with Grandma Molly and Grandpa Arthur; Maeve said that Uncle Harry and Ginny showed up for a visit, so she played with her cousins all afternoon - she was asleep when you arrived at the Burrow right after work, but Alex was very agitated.
You both took the opportunity that the little girl was very distracted and started to give your children a bath; you were soaping Alex's body while Fred washed Maeve's hair. He took the handheld shower and used it to rinse the shampoo, being careful to not let the foam fall in her eyes or ear. So, you two changed; now, you washed Maeve's body while Fred poured the baby shampoo on Alex's hair. Your husband stayed on his knees, leaning over the bathtub to hold his son firmly with one arm while using the other to give him a bath; the one-year-old was still very focused on chewing the rubber duck.
Fred laughed. "You really like this toy, don't you, big boy?" he said to his son, who looked at his direction with his big e/c eyes. "This lil' duck is tasty, isn't it?" he said in a higher pitch and musical tone. Alex pushed the rubber toy away from his mouth just to laugh at his father, bouncing in his arms. "Yeah, you like it," the redhead smiled. "Maybe you can tell Grandpa Arthur what is the function of these rubber ducks, huh?"
You were washing Maeve's armpits when you heard the sound of your son laughing; you looked at that direction and a broad smile appeared on your face as you watched Fred talking to Alex about his toy. Then, your daughter also laughed.
"Mommy!" she said between laughs. "You're tickling me!"
"I'm sorry, honey," you said with a smile, pulling the little girl close so you could give her a kiss on the cheek.
Minutes later, the children were properly dressed in their pajamas and Fred went to take a bath. And the scene he found when he returned to his room was even more adorable than the one in the bathroom: you were with your back against the headboard and, on each arm, you nested Maeve and Alex while singing them a lullaby as they were drinking hot milk from their bottle.
His daughter was the one who saw him leaning against the door, she demanded that he come to bed with you, and as soon as Fred did, Maeve left her position to lay her head on her father's chest - now you and Fred were lying on the edge of the bed and your children in the middle of you two.
"Daddy, can you tell us a story?" the little girl asked.
"I don't know, honey," he said. "Mommy was singing."
"But the song's over, isn't it, Mommy?" your daughter looked at you.
"Yes, dear" you nodded, opening a little smile.
"Will you, Daddy? Please?" Maeve made a pout. "Alex also wants you to tell us a story," she looked at her little brother, who was almost asleep on his mother's arms. "Yes, Daddy, tell us a story," she said in a soft tone - as if it was the little boy talking - "see? He wants it too!"
You both laughed at your daughter's little trick. "Well, Daddy, it seems they want you to tell us a story," you shrugged, still with a smile on your face.
"How can I deny a request from the three loves of my life, huh?" Fred smiled, squeezing Maeve in his arms and giving her a kiss on the forehead.
You listened carefully as your husband told the story of two fire-haired brothers who fought against a terrible one-eyed monster and managed to obtain a precious magical item: a map that led them to various adventures around the world. And when the two brothers discovered how to get to the Candy Land, you and Fred noticed that your children were already deeply asleep in your arms.
You both shared a look and a smile. A passionate look at the love that existed in your family. A proud smile for the life you had together.
"I love you" your husband whispered at you.
"I love you too" you whispered back.
And before Fred fell asleep, he thought, "bloody hell, this must be the happiest day of my life."

Making a sissy part 3
Every few days Tyler would text me telling me to come over. And I would suck his cock. If I didn't wear panties and a bra or swallow his whole load got spanked. In fact he always spanked me. I always made a mistake of some kind. He always gave me limgerie after. Then I would rush home. It had been several weeks since I had cum. I was afraid to upset Tyler o I resisted plying wifh myself. I wore panties and a bra all the time. And bought a dozen pair of pantyhose in different styles and colors. And wore them all day. I ad worn a few of the things Elise had given me but was afraid to wear a skirt in public. Although Elise continued to tease me about it. Everyday she gave me a new book to read.
"Paula" Elise called to me one morning.i flinched looking around to see if anyone heard. Elise handed me a small bag.
"I got you a present" She pushed up against me.
I opened the bag, in it was a file and bottle of nail polish. The story I read last night. Had had the sissy paint his nails. It meant she had read them as well.
"You don't wear my presents maybe you will paint your nails for me" She asked me. I melted everytime she pushed against me.
"Come" She took my hand and pulled me into her office. She sat and pulled me into her lap. I sat on her lap as she filed my nails. She caught me looking down her blouse
"Naughty boy" She handed me the nail polish. It was pink she carefully painted my nails as I held the bottle. When she finished
"Drop your pants" She smiled as I stood. I removed my pants and pantyhose. I stood before her in a white lace thong.
"Paint your toes" she told me I did as she said. As I waited for them to dry. Elise open a small closet and produced a shoe box.
"Today you will wear what your told" Elise told me.
She pulled a pair of stockings out and a garter. She watched as I rolled the stockings on She helped me hook up the stockings. She then pulled a flower print dress from the closet. I removed my shirt and put the dress on. In the shoe box where black slip on shoes with a little one inch heel.
" now you look like a proper sissy" She told me.
"I can't wear this" I wimpered
" Yes you can" She sat me back down and brushed my shoulder length hair. And applied makeup.
"You still haven't cum have you?" She asked
" No unless you count wet dreams" I told her. She took my phone and took several pics. She sent them to Tyler. He would be so mad.
"You have work to do" she led me from her office. Several employees where at the desk when she led me to it
"This is are new computer worker Paula" She told them. With lots of smiles and giggles they welcomed me to the team. My panties where soaked as precum leaked from me I spent the day so desperate to cum.
/be at my house on time/ Tyler texted me.
I tried to hide all day but Elise made sure I was in public at all times. Several times I almost came just from the way someone looked at me. After work I rushed to Tyler's. He didn't answer the door instead he called me.
"Come in doors unlocked, cum upstairs" he hung up. He was on his bed naked.
"You look good" he teased
"Did you cum?" He asked
"No but my panties are soaked" I lifted my skirt to show him.
"You want to cum" he asked
" I don't know" I answered. He curled his finger calling me to him.
He reached under my skirt and pulled off my thong.
"I am going to take your virginity" he told me handing me a bottle of lube. "Your ass and my cock" he told me. I squeezed some on my fingers and pushed two fingers in my ass.
"I spoke with your mom" he told me. "She was a bit concerned about your new fetish." He smiled
" I told her that I would take care of you" he continued as I worked my fingers in and out. And squeezed some on Tyler's cock. I slid my hand up and down. He stood and pushed me into position he wanted. My face down and ass up. He got behind me and slowly pushed his cock in. I moaned as he pushed the head in. It hurt but I wanted it. I felt myself stretch as he pushed harder. It hurt and tears formed in my eyes. But I begged for more. He started working how cock in and out. As it worked more and more in. I felt a strange sensation and my cock started to flow down my leg. Tyler pushed hard and I felt his balls against my ass. He pulled my hair as he fucked me hard and fast. Again I felt cum leak from me. He called me names as I matched his strokes pushing him harder into me.
He groaned and I felt a torrent of cum pump into me. He pulled out and I felt a great emptiness.
" You can go"he pointed to a large bag on his dresser. I put my thong back on and took the bag and let myself out. My mother was home when I got there. She took one look at me and hugged me.
"You look lovely, a little worn?" She questioned.
"Go take a hot bath" She said sympatheticly
"What should I call my daughter?" She asked as I walked out
"Paula" I answered
I took a hot bubble bath. I relaxed and shaved my legs. I felt so sexy after what had happened today. I applied lotion and went into my room. My mom had emptied the bag that Tyler had given me on my bed. There was a sexy pink bra and panty set. A bottle of lube, and a huge dildo that looked like a real cock just 10 inches long. There was a knock on my door
"Paula, can I come in" my mom asked. She didn't wait she opened the door. She held a pink nightie up.
"I bought you this a while ago." She handed it to me.
"That is very big" She commented pointing at the toy.
"I don't want you to hurt yourself" She added.
I nodded as I understood. Mom left me on my own I got dressed, in the pink lingerie and the nightie my mom had bought me. I went to show mom. But as I reached her door I heard moaning. She was masterbating. I went back to my room. And found myself exhausted and fell asleep.
In the morning I noticed that Tyler had sent me a video of him fucking me. I watched it a dozen times. I was still horny. As I got dressed for work in an outfit Elise had donated to me. I went to work dressed again as a woman. I tried to style my hair and apply makeup but failed. Elise fixed it when I got to work showing me how. I told her how Tyler had taken my virginity. Her hand slid under her skirt as I told her. She pushed my head away so I could not see her.
"You don't like pussy, so don't look" She told me.
"Have you even seen a real live pussy?" She asked. I shook my head no
"That is too precious" She laughed.
"Now get out" She ordered I left. I heard her increase her masterbating from the noise she now made. All this made me want Tyler again. I text him knowing he will get mad that I do.
/ I need you/ is all I say
I go to the bathroom I rub myself thru my panties. For the first time in two months I play with myself. I try to stop myself. But can't. My phone dinged it's Tyler
/Come over right now/ I stop and rush over to Tyler's house. I don't even tell anyone I was leaving. Tyler met me at the door. He pulled me inside I followed him to the kitchen where he bent me over the counter and flipped up my dress. He used several different things from the drawer to spank me. Wooden spoon, spatula, even a wisk. He didn't stop till I was in tears begging him to.
"I told you not to send pics or messages, I would contact you" he reminded me.
"I am sorry sir" I cried
He gave me the cheerleader outfit.
"On Sunday you will come over at noon, you will look perfect. You will prepare and serve food for the guys. You will service everyone. You will not ask or beg for anything.is this clear?" He asked
"Yes" I sniffles. I was still bent over the counter. He pushed two lubed fingers inside me. He was not gentile or slow. It hurt. He showed me a large plug. I was worried I had only had his cock and only once and now he was going to have ,e wear this. He
Lubed it and pushed it in. Once again he was gentile but didn't force it either. I heard my phone keep ringing. I knew it was work. But Tyler just kept pushing the toy in. After a few minutes my ass just sucked the rest in and as he seated. My dick exploded in my panties.
I could barely stand. Tyler produced a pair of full size pink panties that said slut on the ass.
" take off those wet ones and put them in your mouth and wear these." He told me. He watched from across the room as I slid themmoff from under my dress and the new ones on. He waited until I got the cum filled ones in my mouth.
"You need this don't you?" Tyler asked me. I just looked at him wiping tears from my eyes.
"Someone to control you, you submit to everyone's will" he told me
"You can't say no to anyone can you?" He continued I wasn't able to answer with my mouth stuffed.
"You come over here, knowing you could be fired because I say, someone else has you all dressed up in public, and who knows who else is controlling you" he educated me. He was right I did whatever I was told. And got pleasure in it.
"Now get out" he told me. I left and called Elise from the car taking the panties from my mouth I ha sucked all the cu out of them.
"I an feeling well" I told Elise
"What happened?" She asked not believing me. So I told her everything unable to hold back the truth.
"Get back her now" She told me and I turned around. I could barely walk up the stairs. Elise met me in her office. She had me show her my panties then pull them down exposing my beaten ass and plug. She had me recap the intire incident. She agreed with Tyler I was just a submissive slut.
"Tomarrow come to my house" She put her address in my phone. "At 10 am I will give you a crash course in how to do your makeup and hair so you look perfect for your gangbang" She laughed. She made me work the rest of the day knowing how much discomfort I was in. Lucky it was Friday and not much was going on. The few members of staff over the past few weeks took great pleasure in laughing at or teasing me about my life changes. But today Kevin the only other male on staff came up to me in the stacks. He was married to a man.
"Paula?" He made me jump. I just looked at him. "I just want you to know I am here if you want to talk or anything" was He flirting with me? I thought. He put his hand on my arm.
"You look amazing" he continued. He was flirting. I looked at his growing bulge in his pants. I stepped back. Confused on what to do. He stepped close holding both my arms. He leaned in and kissed me. My head swam as a mix of confusion and submission flooded my brain. I let him continue. He pushed against me holding me. His tounge danced in my mouth. My muscle went limp as my body allowed him to kiss me. His arms wrapped around me his hand on my ass. He broke the kiss and nuzzled my neck. I moaned. His hand reached under my dress and I felt his hand softly caress my hard dick. No one had ever touched me, not like this. He pulled me into a storage closet. Where he continued. He took my hand and pushed it down his pants. Quickly pulled his cock out from its cloth prison. Although bigger then mine he was smaller then Tyler, maybe 6 inches I thought. I knelt and put it in my mouth. I was able to use my tounge more since he wasn't as thick. He seemed to like it as well. I also was able to take all of him. He never said a word instead he directed my actions by pushing or pulling my head.
"Lick my ass" he moaned so I did. He went wild. He loved as I licked his ass and tounged his balls. Tyler I was a whole now I was giving pleasure rather then having it taken. I tried different things loving the pleasure I bought him. He finished in my mouth I swallowed every drop. He pulled me to my feet and kissed me. Then dropped to his knees he lifted my dress and pulled down my panties he was going to suck my dick I thought. Finally I would know what everyone talked about. But as his fingers took hold of my little dick I exploded in his hand. He stood with a smirk and licked his hand then offered it to me. I livked it clean. He buttoned up his pants and left me.
I was on cloud 9, no one had ever been so loving and gentile. I ran to find Elise, just because I had to tell someone. I ignored the plug in my ass for the first time today. Elise listened smiling as I told her every detail. I finished my day and headed home.

Some Kind of Way (My Hero Academia)
ShinDeku AU
Summary: Shinsou begins to realize he may have feelings for Deku, and it makes him act so out of the ordinary that his crush decides the best way to help him relax is the very thing that kickstarted his feelings in the first place.
A/N: I am so unbelievably excited to finally share this with you! This one has been waiting in the wings for quite a while! Welcome to the first fic in my official ShinDeku AU! This story takes place after the events of "Say Mercy" and creates an entirely new storyline. While these two remain good friends in the Primary Universe, in this AU, things go a little differently.
I will admit this is pretty self-indulgent, but I know I'll want to keep writing for these boys, and what better excuse than to create an alternate reality in which they get together? Cute boyfriends and lots of tickling - what more could you want? I hope you enjoy! <3 <3

~~~
Midoriya: Video games at my place! Kaminari and Todoroki are coming – do you wanna join??
Shinsou stared at his phone screen for so long it went dark on him three times. He’d nearly forgotten that at some point he and Deku had exchanged numbers. Their spring break had just started; today was Monday, which meant that Deku’s mom was probably at work right now, as it was just after ten in the morning.
It really shouldn’t have been this hard to reply to a text. Yet here he sat, struggling to do just that.
It’s video games, Shinsou berated himself. You’ve played video games with him before. That’s what you were doing the last time you hung out. Just answer his text!
Shinsou: Yes. I don’t know where you live, though.
Midoriya: I’ll send you the details! Can’t wait!! :D
Shinsou set his phone aside, heart racing. This is ridiculous. What’s happening to me? He rubbed his eyes tiredly, his mind flashing back to the last time he’d hung out with Deku. They’d gotten into a tickle fight, which he’d ultimately won, but there had been a…a moment. When he’d pinned Deku for the last time and ordered him to beg for mercy. The way Deku had screamed the word over and over through hysterical fits of laughter…
He swallowed. It had been so satisfying, but more than that, it had been…cute. No, adorable. Completely, utterly adorable. Deku was adorable. And for the first time, Shinsou was noticing.
He tried not to think about it as he gathered up his things and walked out the door, heading to the destination the green-haired boy had provided him with.
*
Seeing him in person was so much worse.
Deku opened up the door with a bright smile and an invitation to come inside. It was the first time Shinsou had seen him without his school uniform or hero costume on. He wore a bright yellow All Might t-shirt and blue shorts, and he was barefoot. Shinsou awkwardly took his own shoes off in the entryway and followed him into the small living room, where Todoroki was already seated on the floor.
The icy-hot hero raised a hand in greeting. Shinsou nodded at him, then took a seat as well.
“Kaminari should be here any minute,” Deku said, pulling out his phone to check for a text from the blonde. “It’s so cool to finally have friends over at my place! Make yourselves at home. We’ve got juice and soda in the fridge if you want some, and later we can have lunch together, too.” Deku smiled so brightly it lit up the whole block. “Plus I’ll get to introduce you to a racing game that’s not Mario Kart for once!”
Shinsou couldn’t take his eyes off of him. He found himself noticing things more and more. The particular shade of green that his eyes were. The spattering of freckles across his face and arms. How scarred his right arm was. How muscular he was despite his smaller stature. Shinsou noticed all of it, and it made his heart beat faster and faster. Crap, crap, crap, he thought frantically. I…I’ve got a—
Someone knocked on the door, Deku hurried to answer it, and the spell was broken. Shinsou blinked several times. Seriously, what was happening to him?
“Heyyy, it’s my man Shinsou!” Kaminari greeted enthusiastically, slapping him on the back. “And Todoroki, of course. Ready to lose some video games?”
Shinsou let out a sigh of relief, then smirked up at him. “The joke’s on you, Kaminari. Midoriya says we’re not playing Mario Kart.”
“Dude, what?” Kaminari whipped around to face Deku. It was so much easier to look at him with Kaminari in the room as well. “You can’t take my crown away like that!”
Deku grinned. “I’m introducing you to a different racing game. Kacchan and I play it sometimes – Team Sonic Racing!”
“Sonic has a racing game?” Kaminari asked, then hummed. “Well, he is a speedy little guy. I guess it makes sense.”
“Team racing?” Todoroki asked. “What does that mean?”
Deku lit up at the question, then launched into a long, rambling explanation of all the ways it differed from Mario Kart, and why it was superior, as well. After a little while they finally got to the actual playing part of it, and before they knew it, the morning hours were long gone.
*
Getting lost in the world of Team Sonic Racing did wonders for Shinsou’s mind. He was able to focus on something that wasn’t Deku, for once – even if Deku’s character of choice did cause him a lot of trouble during the races. It gave him a chance to calm down, clear his head, and get back to his normal self. At least, until a couple of hours later when it was lunchtime.
Kaminari had announced early on that he had lunch plans with some others from their class, so it was expected that he’d leave after a couple of hours. But it was a surprise to both Shinsou and Deku when Todoroki announced he was also leaving.
“My apologies,” he said, “but I got a text from my sister that asked me to meet her downtown for lunch with her and my brother. I’m…trying to get back in touch with them, as it were. I can’t really do that while I’m at the dorms.”
“That’s okay,” Deku said, sounding sincere. “I understand. Go have fun with your family.” Then he turned to Shinsou. “Do you want to stay, or do you have somewhere to be?”
Shinsou’s heart was racing again. He was about to be alone with Midoriya again.
“I…I can stay,” he said, nodding. “If that’s all right with you.”
“Of course!”
After bidding farewell to their other friends, Deku led Shinsou back into the kitchen and opened up the fridge, pulling out various things they could use to make sandwiches. Shinsou got the bread out of the pantry (after struggling for a few moments to even find the pantry), and soon they were both at work making lunch for themselves.
“How’s your spring break so far?” Deku asked.
“It’s…fine,” Shinsou murmured. He didn’t really have anything exciting to report on. “You?”
“Great! I kind of took it easy this weekend because All Might insisted I actually rest, but we trained together this morning before I invited you over for video games. We’ll train again tomorrow, too.”
Shinsou glanced at him. “It’s spring break.”
“I know, but I don’t want to stop training. I’ve got to work as hard as I can to get even stronger.”
“Rest is important, too, you know.”
Deku smiled. “You sound just like everyone else.”
“Because we’re right.”
“I’m resting more than I’m training this week. Don’t worry, Shinsou. I won’t burn myself out.”
Shinsou nodded. “Good.”
“So,” Deku continued, expertly changing the topic as he finished up his sandwich, “want to play some more after lunch? Or we could watch a movie or something instead. What do you want to do?”
“Um…” Shinsou hesitated. Again that image of Deku laughing and begging entered his mind. He shoved it away. “I…I don’t know. Midoriya,” he added quickly, before he lost his nerve, “why do you want to hang out with me so much?”
Deku went silent for a moment. “Because you’re my friend? And you’re really cool! I think it’s so awesome that you want to join the hero course, and your quirk is so useful, especially with that voice changer thing you have now, and—”
“Useful?” Shinsou turned to look at him, surprised. “No one’s ever called my quirk useful before.”
“Then no one’s really known you before,” Deku replied confidently, taking his first bite of his lunch. “Mmm, this is good! What’d you make?”
Shinsou glanced down at his half-finished sandwich and reached for some lunch meat. “To be determined.”
*
When they’d finished eating and cleaned up the kitchen, Shinsou and Deku went back into the living room, where Team Sonic Racing sat waiting for them on the screen, should they continue to play it.
“Are you okay, Shinsou?” Deku asked, his voice gentler now. “You seem bothered about something.”
Dear god, was he really so easy to read? Shinsou cleared his throat. “No, I’m fine. I’m just…” He searched for the words. How could he explain to Deku that he was pretty sure he had a crush…on Deku? “I’m just…I don’t know. Fine.”
“You know, if you’re not up for video games anymore, we could play a different game,” Deku said. Shinsou glanced up at him, hearing the teasing tone in his voice, and his eyes widened when he saw the green-haired boy wiggling his fingers and smiling wide.
Instant. Blush.
“Uh, I-I mean…I mean, i-if you…want to, then…” Shinsou stammered, hating every word he tripped over. It had never been difficult for him to speak to Midoriya before. Why was it suddenly the hardest thing he’d ever done?
“Actually, maybe we shouldn’t have a tickle fight,” Deku announced even as he lunged for Shinsou and tackled him to the floor. “Maybe I should just tickle you! You really need to relax, Shinsou. You act like I’m about to bite you or something.”
“I d-dohohohohon’t – I cahahahahan’t help it!” he giggled, the light pinches along his sides and ribs enough to help him loosen up a little, but not enough to really make him panic just yet. He fell onto his back on the floor, letting Deku tickle all over his torso, drawing giggle after much-needed giggle out of him.
“You don’t have to be nervous around me,” Deku continued, oblivious to Shinsou’s struggle. “We’re friends! If you want to talk about something, I’m happy to listen.”
Crap, crap, crap! Shinsou brought his hands up to cover his face, growing really, truly flustered now. “I’m sohohohohohohorry, I cahahahahan’t – I cahahahaHAHAHAHAN’T!! NAHAHAHAHAHA!!” The violet-haired boy shot his arms down to try and shove Deku away when he reached his hips, squeezing with a wicked smirk on his face. “AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NOHOHOHOHO!! MIDORYA!!”
“Relax, Shinsou~” Deku teased, swinging a leg over to straddle his friend and pin him more firmly in place, still squeezing his hips. “Sometimes it’s best to just laugh it all out, right?”
“AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! GOD, MIHIHIHIHIDORIYA!! NOT THEHEHEHEHERE!!” Shinsou cackled, twisting and writhing on the ground. “YOU KNOHOHOHOHOHOW IT’S BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAD THEHEHEHERE!!”
“Why do you think I’m tickling you there?” Deku laughed, too, finding his hip bones and pressing in deeply. “Tickle, tickle, tickle~”
“DOHOHOHOHOHOHOHON’T!!” Shinsou cried, flustered and embarrassed but also having a lot of fun despite himself. He let out a loud shriek and kicked his legs when Deku focused on that one spot that drove him absolutely crazy. “NAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! MIDORIYAHAHAHAHA!!”
Deku chuckled. “Feeling better? Feeling relaxed yet, Shinsou?”
Shinsou squealed, prying his eyes open just enough to see Deku’s huge smile, his bright eyes, his looming form over him, and the boy from 1-C simply could not take it anymore. “PLEHEHEHEASE!! STAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAP IT!! MIDORIYA, PLEHEHEHEHEASE!! MERCY!! MERCY MERCY MERCYEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!”
Deku stopped, but didn’t climb off of him. Shinsou gasped for breath and looked up at him, still giggling, surprised to see a tiny blush on the boy’s freckled cheeks. He blinked a few times. “M-Midoriya?”
“I…I’m s-sorry, I, uh…” Deku stammered, blinking as well. His cheeks got even pinker. “Oh! I’ll let you go—”
Shinsou reached up faster than either of them could think and grabbed onto Deku’s arms, stopping him from climbing off just yet. He forced himself to make eye contact with the smaller boy, and when he did, what he saw there gave him the encouragement he needed to finally get this off of his chest.
“Midoriya,” he said quietly, “I think I need to tell you something.”
Deku swallowed. He suddenly seemed nervous, too. “Y-Yeah?”
Shinsou’s heart was pounding against his ribcage. “I…I kind of…like you. Like…you know. That way.”
Deku let out a little gasp in response, but he never broke eye contact. His cheeks went from pink to red. “I…I t-think I like you, too, Shinsou…”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
Shinsou finally moved to sit up, wrapping an arm around Deku’s back to keep him from falling over as he did so, and when he was upright again the two of them were face-to-face. Shinsou’s eyes flicked all over Deku’s blushing features, from his shining eyes down to his lips and back up again. Then he brought his free hand up to scribble against the smaller boy’s side.
Deku immediately smiled wide, giggling slightly, and Shinsou’s suspicions were confirmed. “Ugh, you’re adorable,” he muttered, pulling him into a bear hug and burying his face in his shoulder. “You know that? Adorable, Midoriya.”
“I-I think you’re cute, too,” Deku stammered, sounding incredibly flustered.
“Only cute?” Shinsou teased, digging his fingertips into the boy’s ribs, feeling him jolt in his arms but holding him tightly all the same. “Wow, and after I just poured my heart out to you.”
“Ahahahahaha nohohohohohoho! I’m sohohohohohorry!” Deku squealed, giggling and squirming but unable to go anywhere or protect himself. He tossed his head back and laughed freely. “You’re adohohohohohorable, too! Plehehehehehease, Shinsou!”
“Too late, Midoriya,” Shinsou replied, grinning into his shoulder, feeling more confident now. He slid one tickling hand down to Deku’s hip and laughed with him when he spasmed so hard they both fell to the floor. “You said I was just cute. Now you’ll have to face the wrath of the tickle monster!”
“Nohohohohohohohoho!” Deku cried, giggling hysterically, but it was obvious to both of them that he didn’t really want any of this to stop, and neither did Shinsou.
So it didn’t.
~
It was a quiet afternoon at Heroics Headquarters and Marcus slumped down onto his desk with a heavy sigh. The morning had started with a threat of an emergency, but after Marcus sent a team to investigate, it turned out to be nothing. After the rush of adrenaline wore off, the Heroics leader found his thoughts drifted over to you. He wondered what you were up to this afternoon, and when he would see you next.
The two of you hadn’t been dating long, only a couple months, but Marcus felt a deep connection and attraction to you that he hadn’t felt since his late wife. You both agreed to take things slow, which worked best for both of you, but Marcus quickly found that he had deeper feelings even after a short time. He forced himself to hold back, however, and wait until you were ready to take the next step in your relationship. He would wait, though, as long as you needed.
Just as a smile flashed across his face at the thought of you, Marcus’ phone rang. His grin grew wider when it was your name on the screen, and he welcomed the distraction from the quiet of headquarters today, “Hey baby,” Marcus answered with a pep in his tone.
On the other end of the line, you breathed heavily and your voice was shaky, “Marcus?”
He immediately went on alert and stood up when he heard the panic in your voice, “What’s wrong? Are you ok?”
You rambled incoherently for a minute before you spoke more clearly, “I’m sorry to call you at work, but I didn’t know what else to do…”
“Are you at home? Where are you?” Marcus cut you off before you could continue.
“Yeah…” you sounded so scared as you whispered into the phone.
“Stay there, I’ll be right over,” he couldn’t hide the way his voice wavered as a rush of fear ran through him.
Without hesitation, Marcus gathered his things and his weapons and bolted out the door. As he jumped into his car, every possible scenario ran through his head as he thought the worst. What happened to scare you like that? Had someone figured out your connection to him and found you? Did they have you cornered in your house, trapped? Were you hurt? What if he couldn’t get to you in time?
Marcus made it to your place in record time and with his sword in his hand, he barreled through the door as he called out your name. But, instead of a disaster situation like he expected, your place was quiet. There didn’t seem to be any hint of break in or anything disastrous. He made his way into your place as he called your name again, “Baby?”
“In here Marcus,” you finally called back from the far end of your home.
The laundry room, Marcus thought as he quickly moved over to meet you. What he found, however, was not what he expected.
You looked flustered and overwhelmed, and your clothes were soaked. You were surrounded by piles of laundry all over the place as your washing machine shook and spewed water and soap everywhere. At least an inch of water flooded your small laundry room, and it took Marcus a moment to register that his feet were now wet as well.
But, your face immediately softened when you saw your boyfriend in the doorway, “Marcus…” you breathed in relief and his shoulders finally dropped, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know what to do and I was freaking out,” you gestured to the mess around you as he moved to be next to you.
“It’s alright,” he spoke in a soft, calming tone as he put his hand on your shoulder.
“This stupid machine,” you cursed, “It’s always spazzing out on me, but it’s never been this bad before,” you vented for another minute before you finally turned and met Marcus’ gaze. When you did, all the air left your lungs, “Marcus?”
“You scared me,” he admitted as those deep brown eyes looked into your own, “I thought something happened,” he squeezed your shoulder tighter before he pulled you in and wrapped his arms around you.
You let out a deep breath as you nuzzled yourself into his strong, comforting embrace, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…” you sighed again as you tried to make a joke to comfort him the way his embrace comforted you, “I mean technically something did happen…”
Marcus hugged you tighter as he kissed the top of your head before he let out a soft chuckle, “Always the laundry with you, huh?” The two of you broke out into laughter as you both fondly thought back to the day you met at the laundromat. Marcus pepped light kisses all over you until he finally felt you were safe and pulled away to meet your eyes again, “I’ll help you clean this up and then we can go over to my place so you can finish your laundry.” He thought it best to take care of the immediate problem for now, and he could worry about your washer later.
Your eyes lit up as you clung to his sleeve, “Thank you, Marcus,” this time it was your turn to place a soft kiss to his lips.
“You never need to thank me, baby,” he replied as he smiled into the kiss.
He wasted no time in helping you unplug the washing machine so that it stopped spewing water and together the two of you cleaned up the water that collected in the little room. Then, Marcus gathered all your laundry and carried it to his car for you and took you over to his house. Even though you insisted you could carry some of it, Marcus didn’t allow it. He genuinely enjoyed taking care of you and wanted to do anything he could for you, no matter how small.
“Your clothes are soaked too, babe,” he said with a grin after he put the first load into his washing machine.
Heat rushed to your face as you realized what he insinuated. You had gone on several dates over the past couple months, and the two of you made out like a couple of horny teenagers every time you saw each other, but things never went further than that at this point. It wasn’t that you didn’t want to, you wanted him more than anything, but you both agreed to take things slow for both of your comforts.
Just as Marcus was about to apologize for his comment, you grabbed at your shirt and slid it up off your body and stood before him more bare than you ever had before. Marcus’ mouth dropped open in awe as he just stared at you with wide eyes. His reaction just made you more flustered, but in a good way this time.
Before you could say anything, Marcus closed the distance between your bodies and kissed you passionately. He took the shirt from your hand and tossed it to the floor before his arms wrapped around your waist. Marcus quickly deepened the kiss as he lifted you up and sat you on top of his washing machine. Momentarily shocked by the movement, you moaned into his mouth, which only encouraged him more.
While you stayed locked in his kiss, your own hands roamed around his chest and tugged at his shirt. Wordlessly, you asked permission for him to take it off as well. And Marcus was more than happy to comply. He broke away from you for just a brief moment as he slipped his shirt off before he was right back on you.
Heat rose in the room as you and Marcus lost yourselves in each other. The kiss felt more intense than any before while your hands roamed all over each other’s bodies. You had never felt that much of his bare skin before, and you quickly found yourself craving more. And Marcus absolutely felt the same about you. No words were spoken, none were needed, just the sounds of your lips against each other and soft moans from both of you filled the space. Marcus pressed his chest against yours enough so that you felt how hard his heart pounded in his chest, and you knew yours beat just as fast.
But, you two were interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their throat. You both broke away and were met with Missy in the doorway, her arms crossed as a playful, knowing smirk on her face.
“Missy!” Marcus scrambled and grabbed his shirt off the floor and used it to cover your body, “What are you doing home?”
“Because I live here,” she tried to play stern but she couldn’t help but laugh at the predicament she found when she walked in the door, “And school is done for the day.” Thankfully, it wasn’t Marcus’ turn for the carpool this week and a classmate’s mom brought Missy home.
At the same time, both you and Marcus tried to explain the situation with overlapping chatter. Missy couldn’t help but burst into laughter as she felt like the adult who just caught two teenagers making out, “Ok, ok, you don’t need to explain,” she threw her hands up in surrender as he turned to walk away, “Just lock the door next time, and keep track of the time! Geez!”
You and Marcus stood dumbfounded as she walked away. The two of you were stunned to silence for several long moments before you locked eyes again and erupted into laughter. Marcus reached out for a towel so you could better cover yourself for now and placed one last kiss to your lips as he did so, “She likes you,” he whispered.
Your eyes went wide, “Really?” you breathed in a hopeful tone.
“Really,” he confirmed with a wink, “And so do I,” Marcus cupped the side of your face.
You could have cried from the overwhelming emotions of just those few words, but you held yourself together. You placed a tender kiss on Marcus' nose as you spoke so softly, “I like you both too.” In that moment, both you and Marcus were grateful for your very faulty washing machine.
Good intentions
Bucky Barnes x reader
Had to divide the story into four parts, and I’m working as fast as I can to finish the rest.
Please don’t hesitate to tell me what you think :) Especially if you like it.
Everybody's alive.
When Natasha catches your reaction to seeing a soaking wet Bucky coming in from the rain, your life becomes unbearable. Nat considers herself a decent matchmaker, but what happens when both her subjects are resisting her attempts?
***
Part 1: Matchmaker
Word count: 4412
It had been raining for weeks. Racing streaks down the glass. Soft drumming against the umbrella. Big, fat drops of water splashing against the pavement, sending shivers through my body whenever they hit my skin. Two in rapid succession on my neck – don't know how, though, my coat collar was pulled up as high as it could go, and my umbrella was larger than average. Then one straight into my ear, which made me squeak in disgust. This had to be an omen.
I shook my umbrella before stepping through the door. No need to be a savage, though from the look of it, I was the only one who cared. A quick nod good morning to Nesta in the reception while making a mental note to call down the cleaning crew. The state of the floor was appalling. Mud and dirt and water – apparently not everyone remembered to wipe their feet before entering the building. And umbrellas all along the wall, dripping on the tiles, creating puddles so large a toddler would happily jump in them.
A long sigh escaped. Time for a stern talk with Nesta again. This was supposed to be a good first impression, not an impression of someone's mudroom. My stomach twisted, this was just the latest in a long string of minor complaints. If she didn't improve soon, I would have to make a note in her file and I hated being strict. Still, it was a part of my job, just like running errands before eight in the morning and longing for the coffee I left in my office. I didn't have to like it.
The elevator pinged. “Hey, Y/N.” Natasha walked out with a smile on her face. Her hair was red again, like flames cascading over her shoulders. Damn, that woman really could carry any hair colour. I nodded and smiled back. “Good morning, Agent Romanov. You're in early. What can I do for you? Love your hair, by the way."
"Thanks. I was wondering if you could help me with something."
I shook off my coat and adjusted the bag on my shoulder. "Of course. What do you need? Let me just –""
The door blew open, banging into the doorstopper before closing behind a sopping wet figure and an umbrella that definitely had seen better days. "Good morning, Y/N. Hey, Nat. Have you seen Clint?" Bucky shook himself, sending a glittering spray of water everywhere.
"No, but check the roof."
The air was knocked straight out of me. I couldn't stop the tiny squeak that tumbled over my lips. The way his hair stuck to his face did things to me, not to mention how the water glistened on his metal arm. I hadn't felt heat on my face like that since I was seventeen and spilled juice all over my shirt in front of my neighbour Todd.
Swallowing the rest of the rude noises hovering in my throat, I forced a smile and nodded to the elevator. "Saw him by the coffee machine on the third floor earlier, Sargent Barnes." My voice was breathier that usual, and I cursed the weather for calling me out like that, while simultaneously praying to any deities listening that nobody noticed.
"Thanks." He marched to the elevator with a pace that would divide a crowd of people without a word.
Natasha looked between Bucky and me, a devilish smile spreading on her face. Once he was out of earshot, she bumped me with her elbow. “So, Bucky, huh?”
The heat crept up my ears and settled in my temples. Surely I was no more than two seconds from combusting? “What? I don’t… no, I mean –" I drew a big breath and steeled my face. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Now, what was it you needed my help with?”
Her eyes locked on mine. "Never mind that… You're a terrible liar."
A good point. I let out a small wheeze and scrunched my eyes shut. "Fine! Yes, Sargent Barnes is a tall drink of water. Is that what you want me to say? Well, yeah, okay. Maybe I do have a thing for him." The defeat was inevitable. Already my intestines were squirming. Nothing good could come from this.
Natasha looked like it was Christmas and her birthday all at once. "I knew it!"
I shrugged, ignoring the rising chill in my chest. How to best deescalate this before it got out of hand? "Well, you are a superspy after all. But please, PLEASE, don't say anything to him. I like my job. Besides, he's a fucking superhero. I'm just… me."
"Just you?" She shook her head lightly and rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, I mean, come on! Look at me!" Holding my arms out, I swayed from side to side. I never liked to draw attention to my body, but apparently she needed the extra visual.
Natasha arched her eyebrow. "I am looking."
She was good, but I couldn't to give up that easily. "Yes, and then you clearly see that I'm ordinary. People like him don't fall for people like me. He's too perfect for that."
"Perf… perfect?" She snorted. "Y/N, Bucky's a mess. He's basically a cucumber with anxiety. Damn, you really have it bad if –"
"I know he has issues. You all do. I'm the one booking everybody's therapy sessions, remember? I'm not talking about his trauma. I'm talking about the fact that he's sweet as a marshmallow and his smile could power a small European country if Stark only found a way to harness its brilliance –"
"And the fact that he's got those broad shoulders and could probably lift and throw a bus if he wanted…"
"And that," I nodded, rubbing the back of my neck to stop that annoying heat from spreading even more. That was a delicious picture, alright. "But I'm nothing special."
"Y/N, sweetie, what are you talking about? You know everything, who's supposed to be where, what we're doing, when we come and go – that's practically a superpower right there. Don't downplay yourself."
The laughter came out dry and humourless. She had to be kidding. Being organised and good at puzzles wasn't exactly rocket science. And besides, I didn't even have a good memory. Without my trusty calendar and phone I'd be running around like Hei-Hei.
"Appreciate your confidence in me, but I don't think so, Nat," I countered and repeated: "Please don't tell him."
She sighed. "I won't."
I tilted my head and put on my best mom-voice. "Promise me."
Her shoulders slumped forward, and she lifted her hand in the air. "I promise I will never tell James Buchanan Barnes about your crush." There was a small pause. "Partypooper!"
"Who's a partypooper?"
I yelped and spun around, looking into Tony's smiling face. "Oh my god, Tony, I mean, Mr Stark." Why did he have to be so stealthy? A big, flashy guy like him ought to be required to announce his arrival with trumpets and drums. Through my galloping heartbeats I noted the glasses were new though, and wondered what kind of new tech they really were. They suited him.
He smirked. “Not the first time a lady has said that to me. But you didn’t answer my question.”
Exhaling, I closed my eyes, just barely resisting the urge to pinch my nose – or maybe kick him in the shin as a diversion. This was going to hell with the express train. “No one. No one's a partypooper.”
“Really?” He turned to Natasha. “Nat?”
I shook my head vigorously, bringing forth all malice I had to my eyes, which I have been told is substantial.
"Y/N has a crush and –"
"Ooh, is it me?" He winked and wiggled his eyebrows.
That made me laugh. "What? Oh, god no." Then I immediately felt bad for my reaction.
"Okay, a little bit insulted, but whatever…"
"She won't let me tell Bucky that she's in love with him," Natasha continued as if she had never been interrupted.
Tony gasped, a look of absolute delight in his eyes.
It was as if the ground disappeared beneath me. A rush of adrenaline almost knocked me off my feet. "Natasha! You promised."
She shrugged and pointed at Tony. "I promised not to tell Bucky. Last I checked, that is not him."
This time I did pinch the bridge of my nose and exhaled deeply, then groaned silently. “Nat!” Even I could hear the desperation in my voice. “Sargent Barnes is a friend. Well, uh, a colleague. Of sorts. I do not -“
“So you didn’t just squeak and burst into flames when he came through that door, huh?” She pointed to the glass door with a grin on her face.
Yeah, this was definitely a torture-the-handler day. Though Natasha was right about my crush, of course, and I wasn't even sure it was just a crush anymore; it had lasted for far too long to be called a crush, I had to keep a professional relationship with all of them.
Truth be told I had had a crush on Bucky since the day we were introduced, but I remembered the exact moment I had fallen in love: it was a chilly spring evening about a year ago. The team had decided to go out to eat, Wanda had discovered a new restaurant downtown, and the food supposedly was to die for. I couldn’t remember what I ate, or if I even liked it, but I remembered the knitted cardigan Bucky wore, the one with the colourful pattern on it. It looked really soft, and I found myself longing to touch it. That wasn’t the moment, though. The exact moment that made me go “Oh shit!” was when I cracked some stupid dad joke, and Bucky unleashed his full laughter on me. Who knew that "Singing in the shower is fun until you get soap in your mouth. Then it's a soap opera," would be my doom? But the sound had stunned me, made me lose my voice for several minutes. If someone had opened my skull at that moment, the only thing they would have found was an empty space and a dial tone - my brain frantically trying to reconnect with my body. If I concentrated I could still hear the ringing in my ears.
I avoided him for a week afterwards - well, tried and failed; my work meant contact with the entire Avengers team at all times - but the mental distance hurt too much to keep up with it. Since then, I allowed the realisation to wash over me, causing me both joy and suffering. And I thought I hid it well. Not well enough, apparently, since Natasha sniffed it out. I resisted the urge to close my eyes and sigh again. However, I couldn’t stop my intestines from curling into a tight ball. She had brought Tony into this after all.
Tony’s eyes shone. It had been a long time since any drama unfurled in the compound. He was practically starved, and this… This was delicious.
Looking between them, I knew this wouldn't end well. "You know what? I'm gonna go set up the briefing. Room 705. Thirty minutes. Don't be late." Fishing the phone out of my pocket, I sent a group text to everyone with time and location. In afterthought the wording in the text might have been a tad too harsh, threatening bodily harm if they were late, but the start of the day warranted some sort of reaction leaking from my brain. I locked eyes with Natasha. "Not. A. Word!"
She nodded, but the grin never left her face.
Tony watched me frantically push the elevator button, and I caught him whispering, not knowing I could still hear him. Or maybe he didn't care. "So what's your plan?"
"What do you mean?"
"Don't you have a plan? You're the resident match-maker here, aren't you?"
Nastasha let out a small laugh. "Do you know why she refuses to do anything about it?"
Tony nodded. “Because she’s professional and a bit afraid for what the people at the top are going to say?”
“No. Well, probably that too, but she thinks Bucky is way out of her league. Something about him being a superhero.” She snorted.
“What?” Tony let out a barking laugh. “Why? Bucky’s like the most timid ex-assassin you can find. I mean, he’s basically a cup of soft serve covered in salt and liquorice."
“I know. We gotta get them together. So, uh, are you in?”
“Uh, yeah! What’s your plan?”
The room finally sealed itself around me and I heard nothing else than the back of my head banging against the mirror wall and F.R.I.D.A.Y. cheerfully announcing what floor I was going to.
Half an hour later I had to step out for a bit to fetch a new cable to the projector, and when I got back, almost everyone were seated. My chest hollowed when I spotted Tony and Natasha sitting together, looking very conspiring indeed.
The urge to either run from the room or break them up rose in my throat, but instead I pulled up a chair next to Sam and focused on my breathing. He was one of the most calming people on the team, and I shamelessly used him as a shield.
Other than the small scare in the beginning, the morning briefing went without hitch. Agent Hill presented the upcoming missions, and I marked my calendar accordingly. Apparently SHIELD had detected a new terrorist group forming in northern Europe, and needed eyes.
Natasha was a given, she could go undetected for longer periods of time, and could take care of herself if necessary. Of course, Clint would come with her. They were an amazing team together, and he would probably go anyway, even if he was assigned to another task. It was better just to let him.
Steve and Sam would step in if it came to that, but would have to keep under the radar until they were needed. Bucky would travel to Europe with the others, but I knew he would set off alone the minute they touched ground in Stockholm. He worked best alone, or so he claimed, and anyway it would be an advantage to spread out. Still, I made a note on my pad to make sure he had everything he needed, and then some. Who knew where his road might lead him.
Bruce and Tony would work together to develop a better algorithm for the surveillance. So far, the terrorist group had evaded SHIELD's best efforts to pin them down. I was actually surprised to learn they didn't even know their name, which made me suspect something big was coming.
The rest of the team was assigned to other, smaller missions, scattered across the States. That way they could easily be reassigned if the situation escalated in Europe.
During the meeting, I kept an extra eye on Natasha and Tony. They sat next to each other, and though I thought I saw them passing notes a couple of times, I didn't want to bring any attention to it. The rest of the group looked oblivious. A sigh of relief escaped me, and Natasha looked up. She nodded imperceptibly towards Bucky, who sat with a bored look on his face and a discarded towel by his feet.
I narrowed my eyes and shook my head, trying my best to stop my ears from buzzing. Suddenly aware of every molecule in the air and trying desperately to ignore the intense weight, I focused all my attention back on Agent Hill’s presentation. Still, Bucky’s presence lingered in the back of my head, and together with the imminent threat from Natasha and Tony, I felt like I was sitting on explosives.
When Maria finally closed her laptop and turned to Director Fury, everybody got up, chatting as if the meeting had been a regular parent-teacher meeting and not a brief on a possible terrorist organisation on the rise.
“Can you believe that people will do things like this?” an agent asked as we all filed out of the room.
“Well, faith is a strong persuader,” I replied with a shrug. “Some are willing to go far for what they believe in.”
“Yeah, but they’re wrong,” the agent continued.
“They’d probably say the same about us,” Sam said, and I nodded.
“There are always two sides to the coin. If not more.”
“But -“
“And then it’s up to us to figure out what to do. We have to look at the big picture. Not everyone is capable of that.” Sam tilted his head with a look of disappointment in his eyes.
The agent huffed and hurried off with a look on his face that either said that he was constipated, or that being schooled by a member of the Avengers was too much for a Wednesday morning.
“Not sure he saw the big picture, Sam.” I shook my head and smiled.
“Don’t think he could. Better hope he doesn’t get promoted soon.”
“Oh, don’t worry about that. He’ll be on desk duty for years still. And I guess you have a little desk duty yourself right now?”
“Well, actually… I was hoping you could do me a favour.”
Uh-oh. That sounded ominous. “Of course. What can I do, what do you need?” My voice rose to mimic the retail job I had before I got lucky enough to join SHIELD's training and ultimately land my dream job.
Sam grimaced. "I gotta go to Louisiana. Just a short trip, couple of days maybe."
"Shit, don't think Director Fury would be too happy about that right now, not to mention the rest of upstairs. You're supposed to be on silent duty until you leave for Sweden."
"Yeah, I know that, it's just… Cass and AJ has been asking me to come visit. And Sarah's getting sick of their nagging. Also, I sorta promised on the phone yesterday. Didn't know there would be a world crisis today."
Smiling softly, I hid the urge to smack my face into the wall. This was going to take a lot of explaining and string-pulling. He was supposed to go no-contact for the duration of the mission, but I hated disappointing the boys. And Sarah was a good woman. She didn't deserve being let down, even though it technically wasn't Sam's fault this time.
"Sam, you're such a softie," I said after some consideration. "Go. I'll figure something out. Just be back before the weekend, okay? And –"
"Yeah yeah, and I'll come in at once if the situation escalates before we're scheduled to head out."
I gave him a crooked smile to disguise the trouble he had just handed me. "Sure. But I was gonna say bring back some of that pecan pie. I've been dreaming about that since last summer."
Sam let out a loud laugh and kissed the top of my head, melting my nervous soul to a gooey puddle. "You're the best. Thanks."
"Fly safe."
"I always do."
"Really now?"
"Oh so that's how it is, huh?"
"That's how it is. Say 'hi' to Sarah for me."
With a short wave, he took off down the corridor, leaving me quietly screaming and already doing the mental gymnastics to find a solution.
***
Departure time was in two days. Everyone was on edge, trying their best to prepare for any eventualities, both inconceivable and expected. After a short meeting with the departure crew to share the last pieces of intel, I felt empty and tired. Missions always affected me more than they should. These people were my friends; if anything were to happen to them, my world would collapse.
Apparently I wasn't the only one feeling a bit drained. No one was in a hurry to leave, and the conversation was hushed and weary.
"You know what we need?" Tony said loudly, slicing through the silence and winking to Natasha. He thought I wouldn't notice, but I did, and the suspicion grew in my chest. What now?
"Pizza!" they said in unison. "We should gather everyone, before we all go."
Tony nudged my arm. "My treat. What do you say?"
Narrowing my eyes, I tilted my head. "…sure."
"Oh, don't be like that. We all need good pizza. Especially today, what with all this rain. Hey, F.R.I.D.A.Y., you know that pizza bakery up the street, the one with the chicken one. Order pizza for everyone. Remember the one with pear, brie, and white sauce. Have it delivered to the lounge."
That did it for me. If he ordered my favourite, I'd be damn sure to eat my part. "When?"
"Uh…" He looked at his watch. "Noon. I'll send out a ping. Don't worry about it."
"Thanks. I do have a ton of things to do to make sure you guys don't die on this trip." I tried to keep it light, but now that the thought had settled in my mind, I had to fight off the tears. It was a miracle I managed to keep the tremble from my voice.
An hour later I tripped over the doorstep to the lounge, surprised to see it was empty except for Tony and Natasha and a huge stack of pizzas. "Where is everybody?" The door clicked behind me, sealing the silence in.
Natasha shrugged. "Late?"
At that moment the door opened again and Bucky sauntered in with a mischievous smile on his face. "Gimme the pizza and nobody gets hurt."
"Jeez, Buck. Remember your manners. There are ladies present." Tony grinned, but opened the top box and helped himself to a slice.
Bucky snickered and rolled his eyes. "Sorry, Y/N," he said with an over-the-top flourish. "I hope you can forgive my insolence." He gestured towards the pizzas. "Ladies first."
My heart did a somersault, but I managed to keep it cool on the outside. "Insolence forgiven," I replied, swallowing a hiccough that lodged itself in my throat, before taking a plate and sifting through the boxes until I found the right one. Loading my plate, I sat down, sinking into the soft cushions. Only thing missing now was some candles and a drink, and I'd be set for the day.
Natasha gave Tony a pointed look. Two minutes later he picked up his phone and half jogged out the door. That was odd. Tony never jogged.
I looked between Natasha and the door, the pizza forgotten halfway between the plate and my mouth. She looked anywhere but at me, but was saved from a confrontation by her phone ringing. "Gotta take this," she muttered. "Can't prepare enough for the trip." She smiled apologetically and left the room. That was a lie, of course. She had full control; all intel was already read and destroyed. And if something new had come up, I would have been notified too.
Suddenly the plate felt heavy in my hand. Maybe it was naïve, but I had expected Natasha and Tony to respect my wishes; after all I had made it absolutely clear that they should leave it, hadn't I? Their amusement and entertainment wasn't worth being an inconvenience to Bucky.
"What's going on?" Bucky asked when the door clicked behind Natasha.
"I… I don't know," I lied haltingly.
Bucky shrugged. "Oh well. Might as well catch up on some paperwork before the flight too. See you later." With one slice between his teeth and another in his hand, he left the room with a friendly wave.
"Sure. See you." I spoke to his back; the glass door had already closed behind him. The lump in my throat grew. Even though Tony had ordered my favourite pizza, I no longer had any appetite. My mouth was dry, and it was a struggle to swallow. In a fit of frustration, I kicked the table, smacking my toe in the process. The pizza slice slid from the plate and landed on my thigh. "Fuck!"
"Ooh, pizza!"
I spun in my seat. Steve had just arrived, and that made me feel a little bit better at least. He was always a laugh.
"Where is everybody?" He looked around and spotted my moping figure, holding an equally sad slice of pizza. "You okay?"
"I guess," I replied, trying to smile and failing miserably. "Everybody else left. The mission, yeah?"
"Right. I thought everything was planned and okayed."
I couldn't bring myself to fill him in on the situation. If he didn't already know, it was nice to have someone neutral by my side. "Yeah, I don't know."
Their scheme was becoming clear; making Bucky spend time with me alone. But it was a failure. Even he thought it was awkward, and he obviously didn't want to be alone with me. Not that I blamed him. If I was him, I'd do the same.
I glanced at my watch. 12.30. Just then Sam, Bruce, Wanda, and Vision spilled into the room, heading towards the pizza like a herd of hungry goats. Slowly my appetite returned too, and half an hour later the blow to my heart was a painful memory pushed to the back of my mind by excellent pizza and wonderful friends.
Later that day I ran into Tony on the way to the garage. He tried to slip past me, but had to stop when I blocked the door, arms crossed over my chest and puffing myself up as much as I could. "Seriously, Tony! What did you expect to happen, huh? That I'd just throw myself in his arms because we were alone? Because newsflash: I've got both self-control and decency. Do you really think I've never been alone with him before?"
At least he had the decency to look thoroughly chastised, and he mumbled something inaudible I thought maybe sounded like an apology.
No way he was getting away with a tiny one. "What was that? I couldn't quite hear you."
"It was Nat's idea," he said, trying a smirk that didn't work at all.
"I very much doubt that," I replied, dragging a hand over my eyes. "Do I have to call Pepper? I didn't think so," I added when he shook his head. "Do better! Now excuse me. I have a lot of work to do to ensure you actually don't die on this mission." With a final, exaggerated frown, I turned and marched out of the room, ignoring the samba in my chest.
.
- "Ok! It's ok! Everything is ok!"- Matthew ran downstairs and left a bag next to the door. Then, he ran to the kitchen and came back, carrying a bottle of cold water.
- "What ar..."- his wife looked at him confused, sitting on a couch, trying not to laugh, as she caressed her big pregnant belly, trying to breathe each time she felt a contraction. It was time, their son was coming, and Matthew was... well, he was all over the place.
- "You might get thirsty.... oh shit! I have to stop for ice!!"- Gubler kept running all over the house, rambling, hysterical.
- "Matthew..."
- "The doctor said you might eat some ice. I don't remember why... but I have to get you ice."
- "Matthew..."
- "I don't know if I put everything in the bag...."
- "Gubs!!"- (Y/N) slowly stood up and walked to her husband, who was clearly freaking out- "The contractions started just half an hour ago. My water hasn't even..."
But the water that ran down her legs as she spoke stopped her immediately, and she just widened her eyes.
- "What the hell is that?!!"- and Matthew Gray Gubler freaked out even more- "Are you in pain??! are you ok?!"
- "I'm ok. This means my water just broke, but I'm fine. Your son will join us shortly, so I think it's the right time to go to the hospital."- (Y/N) said in the calmest and softest tone of voice she could. She could see her husband's face. He was panicking.
- "Ok, ok... let's go,"- he answered, but didn't move an inch- "I'm not feeling alright. I think I'm gonna puke."
(Y/N) smiled and offered him the bottle of water he had given her earlier.
- "Come on, Gubs, breathe, you can do this. You liked making the baby. You are gonna love this part too."
.
Matthew Gray Guber thought he was prepared for that day. He and (Y/N) got everything ready as the due date of their baby approached. They had their bags ready. They had weekly check-ups with their doctor, and the midwife (Y/N) wanted to deliver their baby.
Matthew was sure he was ready. But he wasn't. Not because he was scared to be a dad. He was born to be a father, and he couldn't wait to hold his son in his arms and play with him. Teach him how to walk, how to ride his bike, take him to Disney, and watch him grow up. He had so many plans for his family. But right that minute, all he felt was fear.
Fear of ruining everything. Fear of being the worst father. Fear of being a bad husband. Fear of letting his wife down.
Somehow, getting closer to fatherhood had also made him feel vulnerable. Aware of all of his mistakes and flaws.
.
- "Honey, are you ok?"- (Y/N) whispered and rubbed his leg sweetly as he drove to the hospital.
- "Yes, yes, I am. How are you, Bunny? how do you feel?"
- "We are ok. I'm texting your mom and my parents."
- "Great, awesome."- Matthew looked at the road and gripped the steering wheel tight. Too tight. His fingers were turning white.
- "Breath, honey."- (Y/N) smiled, thinking she never imagined her husband was going to be so nervous- "Everything will be ok."
- "I know. I know."- he didn't know. He wanted it to be ok, but he was freaking out. "What if." That was all that was in his mind.
- "But, what if I'm a bad father?- he confessed and sighed, defeated by his own fears- "I mean, you are already an amazing mom, look at you, keeping your shit together while I freak out"- his wife smiled and nodded
- "The only reason why I'm not freaking out is that you are here, and I know no matter what, you will always do your best to..."- but she couldn't continue talking. She held her breath and closed her eyes. It was getting harder.
- "Breath, Bunny. You are doing great. Just five more minutes, and we'll be there."
.
(Y/N) meant it. She was only keeping her shit together because Matthew was by her side. She was glad he was home when the contraction started, and her water broke. If he had been at work, she could have lost it. (Y/N) was scared of being alone during that whole process after her best friend had a severe complication at the delivery room and had an emergency c-section. Her baby nearly died, and (Y/N) was terrified something like it might happen to her too.
She was scared of everything that could go wrong, and the only person to make her feel safe was her husband, Matthew Gray Gubler, even when he was freaking out.
.
- "Ok, there's not much time,"- the midwife warned as soon as she checked up (Y/N)- "Honey, we are doing this right now."
- "What?!"- and (Y/N) freaked out- "I need the drugs! Please, give me the drugs! It hurts too much!"
Matthew's heart stopped. (Y/N) was crying in pain, as the midwife prepared everything as fast as she could, along with some nurses.
- "I'm sorry, Mrs. Gubler, but your son is ready to come, and we don't have any time."
- "I can keep him inside a little long, I swear, just... give me something! Please!"- (Y/N) cried in pain and fear.
- "You can do this, Bunny"- Matthew stood by her side, holding her hand and kissing it several times- "I'm here, I'm with you, ok?"
- "But, but..."
- "I know you are scared, I am scared too, but we are going through this together, ok?"
- "No human is coming out of you!!"- she cried and yelled in pain- "Shit!!"
- "Bunny, I would do this for you if I could, but I can't. So please"- Matthew leaned in and kissed her forehead- "Do you want me to call your mom?"
- "No!!"- she held onto his hand as tight as possible- "I want you! I need you!"
- "Ok, ok, then, breath, Bunny. I'm with you, always."
The adoration in Matthew's eyes was undeniable. He was staring at his wife with the deepest and purest love. He was scared, but if there was one thing he was sure about in his life, he wanted to have a family with (Y/N) and make her happy every day.
- "One more push Mrs. Gubler!"
The midwife announced, and soon, in the middle of a chaotic moment, with (Y/N) nearly yelling in pain and Matthew desperately cooing her, there was a cry. And it was a heart-stopping cry. Matthew looked at his son for the first time as the midwife carefully place him on his wife's chest. Gubler broke into tears immediately. He sobbed and laughed at the same time, kissing his wife's lips and staring at their baby in awe.
- "We made a human"- he whispered, and his wife nodded- "How are you feeling?"
- "Never been better"- she whispered and caressed carefully their baby's face- "Hello, baby Gubs."- Matthew chuckled at those words and wiped away the tears from his eyes.
- "Say hello to your daddy,"- (Y/N) muttered and handed the baby to her husband. He carried him as carefully as possible, feeling he was holding the most precious thing in the whole world.
- "Hello, Vincent, I'm your dad. I'm sorry, buddy, but you are stuck with me forever now. I'm not good at sports, but I swear I'm always going to be there to play. I can teach you magic, and we are watching all the Disney movies you want, always. And I promise I will always keep your mommy happy because she is the woman of our lives, and you are the only man on earth I could ever share her love with, ok?"
The baby was no longer crying and looked at his father with his tiny eyes for a moment before the midwife took him.
- "You are amazing,"- Matthew whispered and kissed (Y/N)'s forehead.
- "I wouldn't have done it without you"- she answered and looked at his eyes, still filled with tears.
- "I didn't do anything."
- "We are a team"- she answered and smiled- "Team Gubs."
- "Team Gubs"- he repeated and smiled- "I love how it sounds. I'm making t-shirts with our names."
- "Of course you are."
Sugar, Honey, Ice and Tea - Matthew Tkachuk (6)
all parts in the master list
I asked who wanted Matt to end up with reader and most people were like “yes but make it hurt” so while I won’t reveal if she ends up with him or not, I will make it hurt! Ya welcome!
--
The kiss was.. unexpected.
Matthew pulled back quickly, out of natural habit, and she immediately did the same, due to his response.
“Oh my god, I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m so sorry I shouldn’t have done that. I don’t know what I was thinking, actually I wasn’t thinking I just-“
“Hey,” he cut her off gently, “relax, you’ve been drinking, it’s no big deal.”
“It kind of is. That was super inappropriate and I don’t know why I did it. I could get in so much trouble.”
She was right. Getting involved with Matthew, not that either of them wanted that, would be a conflict of interest and she could potentially lose her job if the situation wasn’t handled properly.
“Your secret is safe with me, don’t worry.”
He wasn’t sure if her cheeks were rosy from the alcohol or the embarrassment but he allowed himself to find it cute for a minuscule moment before pushing the thought away.
“You know, your assertion that you don’t like me is pretty wobbly now,” he tried to play it off as a joke but when she didn’t say anything for almost a full thirty seconds, confusion set in.
“You don’t, right?”
“No,” she spoke quickly, “I don’t, I just, I don’t, I’m sorry I’m being so weird. It’s the alcohol.”
*
Your head was spinning. What the fuck had you just done? And why?!
“You know, your assertion that you don’t like me is pretty wobbly now.”
Matthew was standing a foot away from you, his piercing blue eyes were staring into your own with that stupid smirk on his face and for a minute you weren’t sure whether or not you could disagree with him.
It had been one of the most tumultuous weeks of your life and you were so close to coming out of it unscathed. That wouldn’t happen now, not after you suddenly gathered all the insane confidence in the world and fucking went and kissed him.
“You don’t, right?”
“No. I don’t, I just, I don’t. I’m sorry I’m being so weird. It’s the alcohol.”
Hopefully he bought it, because if he didn’t there was no other explanation you could offer.
You needed to talk to someone, to vent and air it out and get a different perspective from a fresh set of eyes. You needed your mom.
“I have to go back to the hotel and I have to call someone. It’s kind of a private conversation so will you knock before you come in to let me know you’re back?”
“Uh, sure. Are you okay?”
“No,” you answered honestly.
++
“Hi, honey, you’re calling late, is everything ok?”
“No,” you let the sob that had been trapped in your throat come bursting out, “it’s really fucking not.”
“What’s going on?”
Your mother knows who Matthew Tkachuk is. You’ve bitched about him to her probably more times than you can count but she doesn’t expect what you lay out in front of her as you sit on the edge of the bed trying to speak clearly and not cry.
“I’ve gotta say,” you could hear the smile in her voice, “you really put your foot in it tonight, but maybe this isn’t all bad.”
“Of course it’s all bad, mom, I’m going to get fired.”
“He’s not going to tell anyone.”
“How do you know?”
“He told you so.”
“What do I do here? How do I handle this?”
“It depends. How do you feel about him, really?”
You didn’t know. You didn’t fucking know. Matthew had spent the entirety of your time working with the Flames, until this week, treating you like you didn’t exist. Since finding out your room assignments he had been pretty much equal parts hot and cold and it was doing your head in.
There were times he was completely awful to you but sprinkled in with them were the moments where he was apologetic and even a little bit kind. It was then that it hit you.
He had been cruel to you for years and only in the past week had he shown small spots of kindness and here you were overanalyzing the fuck out of them. You didn’t like him, not in general and definitely not anything deeper than that. The tiny bit of positive attention he was giving you was clouding your head because you’d been single for such a long time and hadn’t had any real male attention in months but you were seeing things clearly now.
“I don’t feel anything for him, mom.”
“I’m not sure of that.”
“I am,” a soft knock on the door interrupted your phone call, “I’ve gotta go though, I’ll call you tomorrow on the way home, love you.”
You ended the call and made your way over to the door to unlock the deadbolt and let Matthew in.
“Holy fuck,” you shouted as his large body collided with your smaller one, sending the two of you crashing to the floor.
“What the fuck Matthew?!”
“Sorry, s-sorry,” he slurred, clearly drunk, “I was leaning on the door, didn’t think you’d open it.”
“Well I did, Jesus Christ,” you shoved him off you and rubbed your burning wrist.
His clumsiness sent him down on top of you with your arm tucked to your side and your wrist took the brunt of fall as it was crushed beneath the two of you.
“Shit, let me see!”
“Matthew, really, I’m fine.”
“You might not be. I’m not a small guy and we fell hard. Let me check it out.”
You weren’t sure how drunk he was before but it must not have been to severe because he seemed to sober up quickly and the look of concern in his eyes as you babied your wrist was enough for you to let him take a look.
He was gentle, slowly moving your arm around to get the best look at it.
“Doesn’t appear to be broken or anything, but you should still talk to someone in medical. I’m obviously no expert.”
“I’m fine, Matthew, thank you.”
There was a strained quiet hanging between you as he closed the door and locked it.
“Who’d you call?”
Matthew moved away from the door and stripped his shirt, followed by his jeans and you were hit with a flashback of the other day when he did the same thing but this time he knew you were there.
“What are you doing?”
“Getting ready for bed,” his response was resolute, “who’d you call?”
“Why is that any of your business?”
Your eyes were trained on his toned stomach and chest as he pulled on a pair of navy pajama pants.
“It isn’t. I just want to know why you ran for the fucking hills after kissing me and who you so desperately needed to talk to. Also, be less obvious with your eyes.”
That fucking annoying smirk again. You blushed a bit but still managed to roll your eyes at his cockiness.
“Was it an ex? Did that kiss drum up some old shit for you? Realize you missed them even though they’re probably a piece of shit and you know can do better? Turn around, please.”
You did as he asked, not answering his question, “what are you doing?”
“Taking my boxers off, they’re uncomfortable.”
When Matthew gave you the go ahead to turn back around your eyes instantly dropped to his waistline. His pajama pants were now hanging low on his hips, exposing the top of his adonis belt and you knew you needed to look away before he made some shitty comment.
“Was it an ex?”
He asked the question a second time and part of you wanted to say yes but what was the point in lying?
“No. It was my mom.”
“Really? So it’s something that’s fucking with you pretty bad, huh?”
What the fuck?
“Why would you say that?”
“We’ve been working together for a while and the only time I can remember you excusing yourself to call your mom was when the Islanders offered you a job with less pay but closer to home.”
“How do you know about that?”
“I know you’re not exactly friends with me, but you are friends with other people on this team and maybe I asked them about you because maybe I was curious.”
Don’t fall for it, you told yourself. This was one of those small spots of kindness Matthew had recently started to show you. Now wasn’t the time to lose focus of the bigger picture.
“It’s nothing serious. I missed my mom, I wanted to call her.”
“You wanted to call her at almost midnight your time, much later her time, after you ran out on me?”
“Yes Matthew,” your tone was clipped, “is that problem?”
“No, no not at all. I get it. I miss my mom, my whole family actually, all the time.”
You weren’t going to give in and have this conversation with him. Matthew loved his family and was very close with them, it was obvious to anyone who spent even a small amount of time around him.
“Maybe you should call her,” the words came out more aggressive than you meant, “as far as I know, you haven’t spoken to her at all this week.”
“I’ve been texting her everyday, actually.”
If he was offended, he didn’t show it.
“Well,” you huffed, “good.”
Matthew was leaning against the wall next to the bathroom door, his whole beautiful torso on display, with a look in his eyes like he wanted to say something. You waited for him to make his move and watched as he opened and closed his mouth three times before finally saying anything.
“You looked good tonight, really, really good.”
His confession hit you like a semi truck veering off the highway and into a field of sunflowers. Don’t give in, don’t fucking do it, you willed yourself to ignore his comment but when he continued..
“I’ve never seen you like that, so sexy and confident, I’m honestly really fucking blown away by you right now.”
This was not what you expected and as much as you wanted to believe him, you knew this was just another kind kink in his chain of cruelty and you weren’t going to let him get the best of you again.
“Don’t say things you’ll regret when you’re sober in the morning.”
The silence between the two of you was heavy, neither choosing to say anything until you decided to break the hypothetical glass.
“Early game and even earlier practice tomorrow. You need to sleep, Matt. Come to bed.”
_________
The next morning, Allie strolled out of the bedroom with a messy braid, a cheesy grin and a blush that started the second James began to whistle. Colin flipped him off immediately, still as sullen as the night before. “Nice of you to show up.”
“I was busy.” She retorted, then immediately shook her head. “Not like - I just showered.”
“Did loverboy join? What’s his name again?” James questioned, sliding Allie a full plate.
“Carloooooos.” Julia sang, laughing as Allie glared at her. “I saw him sneak out this morning. He said hello. Nice guy.”
“He said he had to get to his shift, he teaches scuba lessons during the day. If we’re interested he said he could snag us a discount.” Allie shrugged, popping a blueberry into her mouth.
“Does he teach underwater basket weaving too?” Colin asked dryly, scowling.
“Is that a real thing?” Rafe asked, looking like he was actually considering the activity for a moment.
Sophie glanced over at him, concerned. “Baby.”
“It’s not?”
Julia shook her head at the couple. “I thought we had a boat today?”
“We do. We’re going sailing.” Rafe confirmed, glancing at his watch. “We’ve got an hour, but we need to pack snacks and drinks. Colin, can you help me grab the cooler from the attic?”
“You can’t grab it yourself?” Colin grumbled, pushing away from the table to follow Rafe up.
“No. It’s too big.” Rafe glanced behind him, making sure they were out of earshot of the group as he led him up the stairs. “What the fuck is your problem?”
“My problem?” Colin repeated, immediately getting defensive. “What the fuck?”
“Yeah, you’re being a dick about Allie’s hookup. No one would say a word if you brought a girl home.” He coughed as he unlocked the attic door and a small layer of dust flew up, the house unused since the beginning of summer. “Actually, maybe you should get laid, you’ll chill out.”
“I don’t have a problem.”
“Then quit being an asshole to Allie. She doesn’t deserve that.”
Colin sighed, helping Rafe tug the Yeti cooler down from one of the shelves. Once it was down, he glanced over at Rafe. “I didn’t mean to be rude. Sorry.”
“Apologize to her, not me.” Rafe told him, looking Colin dead in the eye like he could figure out some hidden secret if he stared at him long enough.
“I will.”
“Good. Just because you’re jealous -”
“I’m not jealous, just don’t like this guy -”
“Ha!” Rafe pointed his finger in Colin’s face, eyebrows raised. “I knew it! You like Allie.”
Colin froze, immediately looking towards the door then lowered his voice. “You can’t tell.”
“Wait, shit, seriously? I was just trying to get a rise out of you...Colin. Seriously? You mean it?”
“The tiniest of crushes. She’s cute.” Colin affirmed, regretting telling him already. “Just - you can’t say anything.”
“I won’t. Brother swear.” Rafe nodded, extending his hand to Colin. “Don’t you dare fuck with her though.”
“I won’t, I won’t.” Colin paused, not taking his hand to shake. “That includes Sophie.”
“Fuck, Colin, for real? You know she doesn’t count.” Rafe whined, running his hand through his hair. “She’s gonna get it out of me. Somehow. She always knows when I’m hiding something.”
“I mean it.” Colin shook his head. “No Sophie. No James, and especially no Julia.”
“Damnit.” Rafe sighed, but grabbed Colin’s hand and shook it. “Fine. You’d better apologize and start making moves or shut the fuck up and let her do her thing, though. No judging.”
“I will, I promise.”
“Good.”
The door banged open, startling them both as James stood in the doorway. “Yo. You two can’t handle this thing?”
“No, we got it.” Rafe shook his head, lifting it easily on his own to haul downstairs. “They send you up here to check?”
“Yeah, Jules started asking questions about last night and Allie clearly didn’t want to gossip with me around, so Sophie sent me up here to get you guys.” James paused, thinking. “She muttered something about you probably getting stuck in some secret fancy passageway. You gonna tell her this house is your dad’s company house, not some family heirloom?”
“I’m pretty sure Sophie wants to know as little as possible about what my family owns. I think she cried for a solid hour on the first night here.” Rafe frowned, taking each step one at a time.
“You tell her about the deb thing yet?” James asked.
“Deb thing?” Colin echoed. “Sarah’s ball? What does Sophie have to do with that?”
“...No. I’m not sure. I think she’ll either agree or rip my head off, no in between.” Rafe sighed. “Sarah’s getting presented at the debutante ball in the spring, Rose suggested Sophie gets presented as well with me as her escort, and somehow my dad thought that was a good idea. Establish her with high society, or whatever. I don’t think he’s forgiven me for breaking up with Brooklyn a week before her deb ball. Apparently me being her escort would have been good for us. Our family.”
James cocked his head. “She broke up with you.”
“Whatever.”
“Huh. Well. That conversation should be fun for you.” Colin patted Rafe on the shoulder just as they got down the attic stairs. Rafe now sported a thin layer of sweat from hauling the cooler down alone, despite him already having no shirt on.
“Oh yeah. Looking forward to it.” Rafe deadpanned, then put on a grin as they all re-entered the kitchen. He didn’t miss the way Sophie’s eyes trailed over his exposed chest, the way she leaned forward on the counter and bit her lip a little. “Found it!”
“Excellent.” Julia clapped her hands together and began filling it with a selection of drinks she’d laid out on the counter. “Sophie, stop eye-fucking your boyfriend and help me out.”
Sophie snapped to attention as Rafe held back a laugh at Julia’s lack of tact. “I wasn’t -”
“Yes you were. Drinks.”
Sophie shook her head, handing Julia drinks with a rising blush on her cheeks.
“I don’t mind, sweetheart.” Rafe murmured to her lowly with a grin, trailing his hand down her spine ‘til he rested his palm on her lower back.
“Ew, we just ate.” Allie complained, pushing her plate away from her. “Thank you for pancakes, though.”
“No problem. It’s my specialty.” Rafe beamed, gathering up the plates and sticking them in the dishwasher.
“Only ‘cause you can’t cook anything else.” Colin pointed out, dodging as Rafe aimed a square punch at his arm.
“He’s not wrong.” Sophie agreed, reaching up to kiss Rafe’s cheek.
“Aw. Thanks for breakfast, Mom and Dad.” James grinned, patting them both on the head.
Sophie whirled on James immediately, only held back by Rafe slipping his arm around her waist (more to protect James than her). “Stop. I mean it.”
“What are you gonna do?” James taunted, grinning. “Hit me? Rafe won’t let you.”
“I will, if you don’t shut up.” Rafe replied, shaking his head imperceptibly behind Sophie’s back.
“What? You weren’t pregnant, it was just the flu - hey!” James took off running the second Rafe let Sophie go, who immediately sprinted after him through the house.
“Fuck off, James!” She yelled, chasing him down the hall.
“I didn’t mean it!” He yelped as she threw someone’s flip flop at him, nailing him in the shoulder with surprising aim. “I’m sorry! Rafe! Help me!”
Everyone else watched from the kitchen, thoroughly entertained. “You gonna help?” Allie asked, glancing at Rafe.
“Nah. He deserves it.” Rafe shrugged. “They’ll get tired soon enough.”
“She only likes fighting when she’s flirting anyways.” Julia added. “I swear all your arguments before you two were dating was just foreplay.”
“Doubt it. She could be pretty mean.” Rafe grinned at Sophie fondly as she strolled back into the kitchen with a triumphant smile, then looped his arm around her shoulders and pressed a kiss to the top of her head.
“Who’s mean?” Sophie asked.
“You.” James informed her as he followed her back to the group, dramatically rubbing a red mark on his shoulder.
“Okay, both of you, knock it off.” Rafe took charge like always, glancing at his watch. “Everyone go get ready, we’re getting picked up in twenty to get to the dock. Don’t forget sunscreen.”
“You really make it too easy.” Julia rolled her eyes, but chose to refrain from calling him Dad again for the fourth time that morning.
“So everyone knows?” Sophie asked the group, frowning.
“For the record, I was team baby. I think you guys would have very cute kids.” James said, already flinching away as Sophie lifted her hand toward him.
“Yeah. Rafe accidentally let it slip when I asked why you looked like hell that weekend.” Colin confirmed. Sophie had stayed at Rafe’s instead of her house so he could take care of her, and Colin had found her sleeping on the bathroom floor curled up in a ball at 2pm when Rafe was in class. (He decided not to wake her up, thinking she was just wildly hungover, and had texted Rafe a photo instead.)
“Great. Fantastic. But if one more person calls me Mom this week, I’m going to rip your heads off.”
“I told you you’re mean.” James grumbled, clutching his shoulder. “I’m gonna have a bruise. How am I supposed to explain that to whoever I’m hooking up with tonight?”
“Tell her you’re into pain.” Allie suggested, shrugging when everyone gave her a look. “What? It could work.”
“...Alright. Everyone go get ready, I don’t want to hear another word from anyone about their sex lives.” Rafe instructed, shooing everyone out of the kitchen as he and Sophie made it toward their room. “Sorry, baby.”
“It’s fine. I’d be more upset if we actually had a kid on the way.” Sophie conceded with a shudder at the thought. “How much did you talk about it with the boys?”
Rafe thought about it, about how James kept going on and on about how he wanted to be a godfather and how their kids would be adorable, and how Colin said he wasn’t really a huge fan of kids but obviously their kid would be family. He thought about how he shared with the guys how nice it would be to have a big family and know their kids would have several metaphorical aunts and uncles, and how much love and support they’d be surrounded by. It made him excited for the future - the far future, of course, but still.
“Not much.” He finally settled on answering, giving her a small smile. “You gonna wear my favorite suit today?”
“The pink one?”
“No, the blue one with the daisies. The one you wore in Nice?” He grinned. “Or, I guess, didn’t wear?”
She blushed, shaking her head. “I think that one’s dangerous to wear around you with our friends.”
“Any bikini is, sweetheart.”
“Control yourself.” She flicked his shoulder in warning. “I have a surprise for you tonight. Don’t let me forget.”
He perked up immediately, smirking. “A surprise? What kind of surprise?”
Sophie just shrugged. “You’ll see.”
“I’ll see...is it a leave-the-bar-early kind of a surprise? A need-the-house-empty kind of surprise?” He asked eagerly, his smirk broadening as she pulled out the light blue bikini from her suitcase.
She laughed, pulling off her shirt before she fumbled with untangling the bikini strings. “I think you can stay quiet enough that we’ll be fine.”
“Will you be able to stay quiet?” He teased, beaming in appreciation as she stood there shirtless in front of him, tongue in between her teeth as she concentrated on fixing the bikini. (He didn’t bother to help.)
Sophie ignored him, rolling her eyes, but glanced up and caught him staring. “Take a picture, it’ll last longer.”
“Don’t tempt me, you know I will.” He shot back. “I know you brought your film camera I got you for Christmas.”
“The last person I want seeing my nudes is the freshman art student that develops my film in the photo studio on campus.” She replied with an eyeroll. “Though I’m sure he’d enjoy it.”
Rafe’s face dropped as he immediately grew protective, grabbing the bikini top away from her and deftly untangled the strings. “Get dressed. We’re gonna be late.”
“Okay, Daddy.” She replied innocently, biting the inside of her cheek to hide back a grin.
He paused, considering, then shook his head. “No. Sorry, no, can’t vibe with that. Find a different kink please.”
She burst out laughing, shaking her head. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, James paid me $10 to tell you that.”
Rafe huffed, tugging on his swim trunks and shoved his feet back into his boat shoes, then promptly slammed open the door, striding back to the group. “James! Fuck you!”
________
Later, once everyone gathered their things and made it down to the dock after their driver for the week picked them up, the boat driver helped them all onto the boat, offering his hand. He was younger, around their age or a little bit older, and Rafe scowled as the driver’s eyes lingered maybe a little too long on Sophie’s bikini top. Then the driver politely leaned over to Rafe to inform him that Sophie had the tag sticking out of her top, hanging on by a thread, and he dropped his scowl quicker than it had appeared.
It only took them twenty minutes before they cracked into the cooler, everyone satisfied with a drink in hand, and two failed attempts to go head-to-head in a shotgun contest with James left Sophie drunk within the hour. She had her sunglasses perched askew on her nose, eyes closed as she rested her head in Rafe’s lap, lying down on the seat next to him.
“This trip is good for you. I think this is the most relaxed I’ve seen you all year.” Julia commented, snapping a quick photo of the couple.
“I do feel very relaxed.” Sophie hummed, taking Rafe’s hand and starting to play with his fingers. “Hm. Relaxed. Relaxation. That’s nice.”
“You’re hammered.” Rafe pointed out, but looked down on her fondly. “I want you to eat soon.”
“Snacks.” She affirmed. “You’ll have to feed me. I’m not sure my jaw works anymore.”
James giggled, more tipsy than anything, but still lacked any filter. “Better for dick sucking.”
“Hey.” Rafe warned. “Watch your mouth.”
“Sorry. Just came out.” James shrugged, having zero remorse. “Can we go swimming? I wanna see dolphins. Do they have dolphins here?”
“Some dolphins. I’ll take you.” Their driver interjected, changing direction of their boat.
“Dolphins can travel up to 80 miles a day,” Allie informed them, confused when she got weird looks from the groups. “What? I’m from Florida, I wanted to be a dolphin trainer growing up. Everyone did.”
“Aw. You would have been good at that, Al.” Julia told her, topping off her drink. “Sophie, no sleeping.”
“M’ not sleeping.”
“No drunk napping.”
“M’ not drunk.”
“Well now you’re just lying.” Rafe told her with a smile, gently nudging her up. “C’mon, I need you to drink water for me. Have some snacks.”
“Here, Sophie.” Colin waved the bag of Sun Chips under her nose, grinning. “Try some. Yummy.”
She batted it away, frowning as she leaned back into Rafe. “Everyone leave me alone.”
He pushed her back upright immediately, ignoring her frown, and pressed a water bottle to her lips. “Drink.”
“Do the thing.” She lowered her voice, challenging him with a smirk.
“Sweetheart, I’m not gonna -”
“Then I’m not drinking.”
He sighed, resigned. “Drink water or I’m not letting you go out tonight.”
“Let me? You don’t let me do anything.” She argued, grabbing the water bottle away and took a long drink.
Rafe just nodded, clearly not in the mood for a fight. He knew Sophie was in charge of the relationship, but the second he said he wasn’t comfortable with something, she listened right away. “Okay. Sure.”
“Trouble in paradise,” James sing-songed, only to receive a glare from Sophie.
“You’re still on my hit list.”
“Me? What did I do?”
“You and Julia are on it.”
Julia sighed, glancing over. “You’re really still hung up on that?”
Sophie sat up a little more, her eyes lighting up, and Rafe braced for an argument. “I told you no -”
“And we’re both grown adults, Soph, we can make our own decisions -”
“You don’t even like him -”
“Ouch.” James mumbled, shrinking back into his seat as if he couldn’t be seen.
“Hey!” Allie clapped, standing and putting herself in between the girls. “Both of you, let it go. We’re not doing this again. Julia, drink more. Sophie, no more drinking.”
“But -”
“No.” She crossed her arms, staring them both down until they sighed, mumbling apologies. “Thank you.”
The boys all watched in silence, impressed, until Colin spoke up. “Right, well, I’m gonna go swim.” He and James nodded, jumping off the back of the boat, and Allie and Julia took a second but followed suit.
Sophie moved to join in until Rafe grabbed her around the waist, protective as he pulled her onto his lap. “Hey. You okay?”
“Yes. I feel good.” She promised, but couldn’t fully meet his gaze and was swaying with the rocking of the boat. “Can we go swim?”
“Will you wear a life jacket?”
“That’s embarrassing.”
“It’ll be more embarrassing if you drown.” He pushed her hair back, out of her face, and kissed her forehead. “You’re way too drunk right now, you’re making me nervous.”
She frowned, placing her hand on his cheek. “I make you nervous?”
“No, I’m just worried something’s gonna happen. Life jacket? Please?” He pulled it from under the seat, offering it to her.
Sophie rolled her eyes but let him put it on, strapping it tight across her chest for good measure. “Now can we go?”
He scooped her up with a grin and stood on the seat, ready to jump. “Now we can go.”
“No, Rafe - wait no!” She screamed, grabbing around his neck as he jumped into the water with her in his arms, plunging down and letting her go to float back up.
James snorted, splashing water toward her. “Nice life jacket.”
“I’d like a life jacket.” Allie interjected, closing her eyes and floating on her back. “Wouldn’t have to do any work.”
“Hold on - Allie, are you high?” Colin questioned, swimming closer and poking her arm. She’d only had half of a drink since they were on the boat, but was still acting strange and zoned out the whole day.
“Carlos gave me an edible. I ate it before we got on the boat.” She mumbled in reply. “I have more if you want it.”
“You took sketchy drugs from a sketchy guy?!” Colin exclaimed, much louder than necessary.
Rafe swam over with a frown, shaking his head like a dog. “Who’s taking drugs?”
“The bartender -”
“Carlos.” Allie corrected.
“The bartender gave Allie drugs.” Colin cut her off. “And now she’s high and probably something else.”
Rafe cocked his head, looking over Allie. “Al? You good?”
“I feel nice.” She replied, moving to tread water and smiled at them. “So nice.”
“Jesus Christ.” Colin cursed, while Rafe kicked him under the water.
Julia swam over, tugging Sophie’s hand to drag her along. “Oh, it’s finally kicking in?”
“You knew?” Rafe questioned, pulling Sophie into his arms as she tried to be subtle and unclip the life jacket.
“Of course I knew.” Julia replied. “Don’t freak out, I looked at it, it’s fine.”
“Oh, you looked at it, great. Thanks, Julia, I didn’t know you were the resident expert on drugs.” Colin huffed.
“Just weed, actually, I haven’t done anything else -”
James seemed to finally realize the whole group was congregated instead of doing their own thing, like he was. He swam under the water, grabbing Rafe’s ankle - who immediately screamed like a child and kicked James in the face. James bobbed up straightaway with his hand clapped to his nose and blood trickling from it like a leaky faucet. “What the fuck?!”
“Why’d you grab me?!” Rafe defended, letting go of Sophie. “This is on you.”
James launched himself onto Rafe, grabbing at him, and the two promptly started wrestling in the water, despite everyone’s protests. Colin stuck his arm in between them to break them up after a few minutes, tugging Rafe off of James and being careful not to hit James’ nose again. “Hey! Hey. Everyone back on the boat.”
“C’mon, Colin.” James argued, but hauled himself back up onto the boat anyways when Colin tapped his watch and reminded them all of their dinner reservations.
Once they all clambered back onto the boat and James had a towel and a can of beer pressed to his nose, the boat driver started taking them back to the shore. Sophie had sobered up somewhat and Allie was asleep with her head in Julia’s lap, with Julia absent-mindedly stroking her hair. “Hey, Rafe? Do you have any good recs for somewhere we could go for dinner?”
Rafe furrowed his brow, confused. “We’re going to dinner tonight, what do you mean?”
“No, no, tomorrow. I was thinking it could be just the girls, you guys could do something else -”
“No.” He replied, firm. “None of you are going anywhere alone. I don’t trust any of you when you’re drinking.”
Allie stirred, finally opening her eyes as she’d been listening in on the conversation. “We could invite Carlos to chaperone,” she mumbled.
“Yeah, I’m sure he’d love to tag along. Drag you into some trafficking ring too.” Colin grumbled.
James pulled the towel away from his face, confused. “So that’s a no to guy’s night?”
“No one is splitting up.” Rafe insisted, firm, and reached over to press the towel back to James’ nose.
Sophie cocked her head at her boyfriend. “Where is this coming from?”
“Look, I don’t even let Sarah go out alone here, and we’ve been coming here for years, she knows this place like the back of her hand. I don’t want something to happen to you guys.” He slung his arm around Sophie’s shoulders, pulling her close. “Any of you. I mean it.”
“Man, even my own father isn’t this protective.” Julia remarked casually, then immediately regretted it upon seeing Rafe’s wince. “Sorry.”
“It’s fine. But that’s final say.”
“Okay, got it.” Julia raised her hands in defense. “So. Back to Carlos. Do you think he’d get all of us drugs if we had a threesome with him?” She suggested, only for everyone to stare blankly at her. “Oh my god, I’m just asking. It’s not like I suggested meth.”
“Who’s in the threesome?” James questioned, cocking his head.
Julia ignored him, barreling on. “That’s, like, an appropriate thing to ask, right? It feels like an island vibe. He’s gotta know where to get something.”
“Something.” Rafe repeated.
“Yeah.” She directed her question back toward him. “Hypothetically, if he could get us coke, would you say no? That’s like a rich person drug.”
“Rafe hasn’t done coke.” Sophie interrupted, assuredly, then frowned as Rafe seemed contemplative. “Right?”
“...No. Had to think. Been in the room, though, so probably got something secondhand.”
“That’s literally not how coke works.” Julia dismissed.
“I wouldn’t. I’m pretty sure that ruins the lining of your nose.” James supplied helpfully - Julia nodded in agreement, considering this newfound information.
“I’d consider doing molly.” Colin added. “But not from him.”
“Oh, like that makes a difference.” Allie deadpanned, always quick with the comeback while the rest of the group registered their surprise, because - Colin? Drugs? Two words that didn’t go together.
“It does, actually, but I get drug tested at NASA every single week, so.” Colin shrugged. “Not worth losing my future job.”
“Right. No one answered my question.” Julia sighed. “I’m open to a threesome with Allie or James. Rafe and Sophie, you’re out. Colin, I -”
“Yeah. Agreed.” Colin nodded, then hurriedly added, “I’m not saying I’m down for a threesome -”
“Hold on, why are we out?” Sophie frowned. “We’re hot.”
“Neither of you would share. It wouldn’t be fun.” James pointed out, only for Julia to nod enthusiastically in agreement.
“Exactly. You two are too, like, in love or whatever. It’s sick.”
“We would be great in a threesome.” Sophie argued, crossing her arms.
“You are too damn competitive.” Rafe mumbled to himself, shaking his head. “No one is having a threesome, no one is doing drugs. Not until we’re back under American laws. I’m not bailing anyone out of jail here.”
“Boo, Dad.” James grumbled, making Sophie lean toward him and raise her hand.
“James -”
“Okay, Sophie, chill, you can be the only one to call him Daddy -”
“Oh god, gross -”
“Home again!” Their driver announced with a grin, bumping the boat a little against the dock. The group snapped to attention, with James and Colin grabbing the coolers and Rafe helping the girls off the boat. He clapped the driver on the back as he was last to get off, murmuring something in his ear and slipped a wad of cash into his hand.
_____
After dinner, the group was dropped back at the house with the same driver they’d had all week, who now knew them all by name and knew way too much gossip about each of them. He knew that Rafe always sat in the front, the girls crammed into the back and James and Colin shared the middle, unless the girls were too drunk to crawl all the way back safely, and the boys would trade. They were all tired from a long day in the sun and agreed to call it with a lowkey night back at the house.
Once they’d all changed into comfier clothes, rather than how they dressed up for dinner, they congregated in the living room, sprawled out on the couches.
“All right, games. I have...uh…” Rafe rifled through the cabinet under the television, coming up short with only a deck of cards. “There’s just this and a poker set. We didn’t exactly play family games growing up.”
“That’s alright. We can play B.S.” Julia concluded, clapping her hands together with a grin.
“Last time we played B.S. it ended in a screaming match, and you and Colin didn’t talk for a week.” Allie reminded her, wary. Drunken card games in their group usually resulted in made-up rules that were only kept on track if someone wrote down the rules to lock down any possible room for arguments.
James and Sophie returned from the kitchen with two bottles of Sprite, two bottles of lemonade, a handle of vodka and six shot glasses. “Okay! Ready!”
“What the - guys, I said a chill game night.” Rafe raised his eyebrows as Sophie passed out the shot glasses.
“Yeah, we decided it’s our only senior spring break so we want to enjoy it.” Sophie told him, smacking a kiss to his cheek. “We’re playing B.S? Whose rules?”
“Normal rules, for the first round. Second round everyone adds a rule as you get away with bullshit.” Julia declared, shuffling and dealing the cards out to everyone with a surprising amount of skill. “Next birthday goes first, and if you don’t get away with it you have to take a shot. Or chug your drink for five seconds?”
“That’s me. And player’s choice, I think.” Sophie decided, sitting up and angling her cards away from everyone, looking a little too contemplative. She placed her card down, and Colin immediately shook his head. “Bull.”
“Nuh uh.”
“Take the shot, Sophie.” Colin insisted, flipping her card to reveal a jack instead of the needed 2.
“Fuck.” She muttered, following suit.
Rafe shoved her cup of water closer to her before she could pour herself a vodka lemonade instead, shaking his head. “You’re not even sober right now. Finish this first.”
“It’s alright, I’m fine.” She waved him off. “You’re next.”
The game continued on, escalating dramatically as they kept playing. By the time the first big bullshit was called, Allie had to accept at least 30 cards, the group had all taken at least one shot, Julia had been banished to the corner for a whole round, James was wearing Julia’s pink sunglasses upside down and Rafe had made out with Sophie three times, due to a rule he’d made up.
“Total bullshit.” Allie giggled as James placed five cards down at once on top of a huge stack. She was rivaling Sophie for drunkest of the group by far, slumped on the couch with her arms wrapped around one of the pillows as she wore a happy grin.
“Is not.”
“Is too!”
“Challenge!” Julia exclaimed, setting up two cups at the end of the table and handed them each a ping pong ball. (No one was sure when this was added to the rules, but everyone accepted it easily.) “Ladies and gentlemen, please stand.”
The two stood and took each other’s hands, laughing as they followed the customary pre-pong rule of spinning each other three times before taking their aim. “That was four! That was four.” Allie protested, having to grab James’ arm for balance as the room spun behind her eyes. “You need an extra spin.”
“Wait, dude, you put five down.” Colin pointed out, cocking his head. “Fucking idiot, take the cards.”
“Julia said challenge!”
“But you cheated!”
“The whole point of the game is cheating, dumbass!” James retorted, shaking his head. “She said challenge!”
“I said challenge!” Julia cried out, tapping her shot glass against the glass table to regain order. “Now throw.”
Both of them missed their mark terribly, James’ ball falling short and Allie accidentally nailing Rafe in the forehead with hers. “Sorry! Shit, sorry!”
“Oh, no, baby, are you okay?” Sophie asked worriedly, smoothing her hand over Rafe’s forehead as she combed through his hair with her fingers.
“I’m fine. I’m not sober.” He replied, humming with a smile as he leaned into her touch.
Everyone stared at the two of them with grins as they realized Rafe’s mistake in his own rule that he’d made up. The couple took too long to realize, slowly glancing around at the group. “What?” Sophie asked, sitting up straight. “What happened?”
“James missed the shot.” Colin grinned at Rafe, way too smug. “Pucker up.”
Rafe’s face dropped as it clicked for him - he’d made up the rule that a missed shot from falling short meant that person had to make out with the player who’d gone before for at least two minutes. It was a carefully calculated rule, he’d played pong with everyone in the group countless times and knew that everyone besides Sophie tended to overshoot, almost every single time.
Almost.
James laughed at Rafe’s expression, crooking a finger toward him. “Come here, buddy. Do you want me to get chapstick? Soph, do you have chapstick?”
“Do I have to?” Rafe groaned, standing up and striding over to sit next to James on the couch.
“It’s your rule.” Julia pointed out. Sophie shrugged in agreement, not quite putting together all the pieces.
“I’m really honored to be doing this with you, seriously.” James joked. “Sophie, can I touch him?”
“Just the head.”
Julia snorted, and she and James exchanged equally delighted grins at Sophie’s accidental innuendo.
Colin pulled up the timer on his phone, flashing it toward them. “Okay...alright. Whenever you’re ready.”
“Fucking hell.” Rafe sighed, but leaned in to make the first move, eager to get it over with. Both of them had their eyes closed and the kiss was relatively tame, albeit impossibly long.
“Oh.” Sophie murmured quietly, unsure how she felt, but uttered a warning “hey” when James’ hand automatically went to Rafe’s face. She decided she felt mainly neutral about it, but would be a lot more neutral if it was James and Colin kissing instead.
Julia was quiet for the first time all night, unable to tear her eyes away as she watched. Allie couldn’t resist a quick photo but giggled, hiding her face in Colin’s shoulder.
“Hey. Hey! Hey!” Sophie yelled the second the timer went off, leaning over and grabbing at Rafe’s arm to tear him away. “No more.”
James had his eyes closed and had unconsciously chased Rafe’s lips with his as they were pulled apart, but made a show of wiping his mouth afterward. “Okay. Well. Mark that under something I thought I’d never do.”
“And you’ll never do it again, so I hope you enjoyed it.” Sophie scowled, wrapping her arms around Rafe from behind and pulled him back to lean against her chest. “Stupid fucking rule, Rafe.”
“Sorry. Wasn’t thinking.” Rafe laughed, clearly unbothered as he tilted his head to press a short kiss to Sophie’s neck.
She grasped his head in both her hands, leaning down to press a sound kiss to his lips, as if it was a mark of ownership. “There. No one kiss my boyfriend again, I’m getting more snacks.” Sophie declared, getting up and heading into the kitchen.
“I don’t know about y’all, but I’m lowkey horny right now.” Julia muttered much louder than she intended.
“Thanks for sharing, Jules.” Allie laughed.
Julia glanced toward James with a desperate look, pressing her legs together. “Are we done playing? Or do you guys want to keep going?”
Oblivious as always, James shrugged, unfazed, moving back to his seat beside Julia. “Whatever you want. I’m down to keep playing.”
“Fuck, I need to get laid.” Julia mumbled much quieter so only he could hear, and he straightened up immediately like a bolt of lightning had shot up his spine.
“Actually, I’m good. Tired, actually. Yeah. I’m gonna - yeah.” He stood, offering his hand to Julia. “You look tired too.”
“Guys.” Rafe warned, glancing toward the kitchen where Sophie was still raiding the cabinet for any leftover snacks.
“Night, y’all.” Julia grinned, ignoring Rafe’s warning as the two strode off hand in hand to Julia’s room, making sure to go around so Sophie wouldn’t catch them.
Rafe sighed, but bit back a smile as he saw a dirty text pop up from Sophie, with a very detailed idea of how they could use up the rest of the whipped cream in the fridge. “Alright. Night, guys.” He promptly got up and left, leaving Colin and Allie alone.
“And then there were two.” The tension hung thick in the air as Allie leaned on Colin, giggly. “Fuck, I am so drunk.”
“Yeah?” He didn’t dare move, especially as she took his arm into her lap and started tracing lines as she connected freckles on his skin.
“I think I’m gonna call the bartender.”
“No you’re not.” Colin frowned, shaking his head. “No. You need sleep.”
She yawned, blinking up at him. “I’m pretty sure my room’s occupied.”
“You can take my bed.” He offered immediately, resisting the weird urge to tuck a stray piece of hair behind her ear. “It’s fine.”
“Where are you gonna sleep?” She asked, reaching up and tracing her finger along his cheekbone. “Your eyes are pretty, did you know that? You have a freckle in your right eye.”
“A freckle?” He smiled. “I’m not sure that’s right.”
“It is.” She insisted. “I can go in your bed?”
“Yeah, I’ll take the couch.”
“Okay.” She agreed right away, hauling herself up. “I gotta brush my teeth.”
“Good thing your bathroom’s shared with mine.” Colin reminded her, following her down the hallway. “Unless you really want to go into your room while...that’s going on.”
“No, thank you.” She shook her head quickly, stretching and nearly smacking him in the face. “Sorry! Sorry.”
“It’s alright, just be careful.” He laughed, ushering her into the bathroom. “Do your thing, I’ll fix my bed.”
They’d all changed into comfortable clothes and showered before playing the game, anticipating intoxication, but Colin still wished he had a reason to offer her something of his to wear to bed. He re-made his bed, even fluffing the pillow, before tugging on a hoodie.
Allie returned a few minutes later, giving him a grateful smile. “Thanks, Colin.” She touched his arm as she passed, crawling into bed.
“Of course. No problem. Yell if you need something, yeah?” He told her, smiling back before leaving and turning out the light, resigned to a night on the couch.
Breaking The Fourth Wall
Wanda x reader x Vision
Wanda awoke to an empty bed and sunlight blinding her.
"Look, we've all been there, right?" Wanda chuckled as she sat on a chair in Vision's dressing gown. "Letting our fear and anger get the best of us, intentionally expanding the borders of the false world we created." Wanda wondered.
Wanda let out a sigh as she laid in bed at the image of soldiers running in fear, and screaming invaded her mind before pulling the covers over her head.
"Mama, are you coming down soon?" Tommy asked as he and his siblings rushed into her bedroom.
"Mama, our game is freaking out!" Billy exclaimed.
"The systems keep changing!" Luna recalled.
"Is she asleep?" Tommy wondered after their mother stayed quiet.
"Mama's not sleeping, honey," Wanda announced. "She's just resting her eyes." She said from under the covers.
"Kids, what did I say about bothering your Mama?" Y/N asked as she entered the bedroom. "I told you that she's not feeling well."
"But, Mom, my head feels weird. It's, like, really noisy. I don't like it." Billy told Y/N.
"Resting her eyes," Wanda repeated as Y/N pulled Billy in for a hug.
"It's okay, sweetheart. C'mon, kids, Mama's not feeling well. Let's let her rest, and find you something for your head, Billy." Y/N said as she ushered the kids out of the room.
"I feel like an ass," Y/N admitted, sitting in the living room. "I want to take care of Wanda, I do, but at the moment, I'm the only functioning parent in this house. Wanda's bedbound, Vis is MIA, and I've got three kids to look after." Y/N sighed. "They don't need to see her like this. They don't."
"As punishment for my reckless evening, I plan on taking a quarantine-style staycation," Wanda said, back in her striped chair. "A whole day. To myself. That'll show me." She nodded.
Wanda pulled back the covers on her bed to reveal she was still in her Halloween costume, causing Wanda to sigh loudly.
"I got to it first!" Tommy grunted, struggling to pull a controller towards him.
"You always get to it first!" Billy complained, pulling back against his brother's grip.
"Boys." Y/N snapped, moving forward and taking the device out of their hands. "Today is not the day for petty arguments, okay? I have to take care of the three of you and your Mama today, alright. I'm severely under-caffeinated and exhausted, so please, for me, be civil until I've at least had a coffee."
"I'll keep them civil, Mom." Luna piped up from the couch.
"We'll be good, Mom." Billy nodded as Wanda stumbled down the stairs, dressed in one of Y/N's shirts and Vision's dressing gown.
The kids all turned to stare at Wanda in confusion as she blundered into the kitchen.
"Wanda?" Y/N asked as she followed after her wife. "Sweetheart, what are you doing?" She wondered, watching as Wanda gathered items for breakfast.
"Cereal." Wanda simply said as the milk on the counter glitched.
"Why didn't you just ask? I could've brought it to you." Y/N said as Wanda sniffed her cereal.
"Well, I'm up now, so it doesn't matter," Wanda said as the milk turned, a grainy black and white.
"Yeah, I'm not sure what that's about," Wanda commented about the milk. "It's probably just a case of the Mondays. Am I right?" She chuckled.
After the events of last night, SWORD had had to create a temporary base about eight miles outside of Westview.
"Lucky for us, she pumped the breaks." A woman commented as she and Hayward stared at the red energy field.
"Yeah. I feel very lucky." Hayward chuckled. "What's happening with the broadcast?" He asked her.
"Dead air. The signal's gone." She informed him.
"Make sure the team has everything they need. We launch today." Hayward nodded.
"Yes, sir."
Back inside the Hex, Vision was just beginning to wake up. Though, to his surprise, he was not waking up in his bed at home.
He was waking up on a field, a field where a circus had set itself up around him.
Vision stopped in confusion as clowns, mimes and other circus folk walked around him.
What happened last night? Vision wondered, watching the milling people.
And then suddenly, it hit him. The memories of the night before, the pain he felt before collapsing and blacking out.
"You're the new clown?" A man in a leotard demanded as he approached Vision. "At least you're already in makeup." He sighed. "You're late for rehearsal with the escape artist. Come on." The man said, gesturing his head to the left before walking away.
Vision stared after the man in confusion before turning in the direction he nodded.
There stood a dark-haired woman, wrapped in chains. A woman Vision remembered from last night.
"Yeah, I'm not great at this gig, I gotta be honest." She admitted with a sigh. "It doesn't really speak to my skill set. I put in for the bearded lady, but this alabaster complexion wasn't fooling anyone."
As Vision's memory became more comprehensible, he began to stare at the woman quite intensely.
"Can I help you, creeper?" The woman asked, raising a brow at Vision.
"You don't remember me from last night?" Vision asked, causing the woman's eyes to widen. "We locked eyes. There was an unspoken understanding."
"Um, hard pass." She said, pulling the chains from her body before she began to walk away.
"No, wait. Wait up!" Vision called, rushing after her.
"Y/N, have you seen Vis?" Wanda asked, shoveling a spoonful of sugary snaps into her mouth.
"Not since last night," Y/N told her. "I haven't heard from him this morning. I'm worried about him."
"Hm." Wanda hummed before walking into the living room. "Have you seen your Dad?" She asked the kids.
"No." Tommy shook his head, engrossed in the video game before him.
"Do you wanna go look for him?" Billy asked, turning away from the game as Luna put her book down.
"Well, if he doesn't want to be here, there's nothing I can do about it." Wanda shrugged, grabbing the TV remote and changing the channel.
"Mama's kidding, guys," Y/N said, causing Wanda to snort. "Your Dad's just busy, that's all."
"Mama, what did Uncle Pietro mean about re-killing Dad?" Luna asked, biting her lower lip in worry.
"Actually, what did he mean, sweetheart?" Y/N asked, turning to her wife.
"He meant nothing." Wanda scoffed. "And don't believe a word that man said. He is not your uncle." She told the three children.
"Well, then, who is he?" Tommy wondered.
"Here's the thing, guys. I'm your Mama, and as such, you were counting on me to have all the answers, right?" Wanda asked, causing the kids to nod. "Well, I don't. I have no answers. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Niente." She laughed as the kids stared at her and their other mother worriedly. "I'm starting to believe that everything is meaningless. You're welcome to draw your own conclusions, but that's just where I'm at."
"Jesus fucking Christ." Y/N sighed, pressing her head into her hands.
"So maybe I went a little too dark there, but they'll be fine. Vision is made of Vibranium. And have you met my wife? The kids literally inherited tough skin."
"Okay, kids, why don't you go grab your jackets for me, okay?" Y/N asked, ushering the kids out of the living room as Wanda collapsed onto the couch. "Okay, we're going to give you some me-time. I'm taking the kids to the park, Wand."
"Are you serious?" Wanda asked, looking up at Y/N with wide eyes.
"Yes, you need a break," Y/N told her. "I don't know what last night was, and I certainly don't know what's going on this morning, but you need some time to yourself."
"I ever tell you that I love you?" Wanda asked, causing Y/N to smirk.
"Not this morning." She told her.
"I love you." Wanda sighed, leaning up to kiss Y/N as the kids re-entered the living room.
"I love you too," Y/N said as she pulled away. "Now, who's ready to go to the park?" Y/N clapped, turning to the kids, a convincing fake grin on her face.
"But who's going to stay and look after Mama?" Billy asked, looking at Wanda in concern.
"Guys, I'll be fine," Wanda promised. "Go. Have fun at the park." She shooed the four out the front door.
When the door shut behind her family, Wanda was left alone.
And the silence of the house brought a smile to her face.
Wanda settled back into the couch, her bowl of cereal on her lap, as she turned her attention to the TV.
The TV wasn't able to hold her attention for long as her head snapped to the side to see a house plant glitching.
And then the fireplace changed.
A chair followed, and then the TV altered.
Wanda put her bowl of cereal on the table before she forced the living room to change back to its modern setting.
"I'm fine. I'm fine, I'm fine." Wanda chuckled. "I'm fine. I'm fine." She promised reassuringly. "I'm fine."
"Darcy made it through that last firewall all right," Jimmy reported. He and Monica had been driving all night, too afraid Wanda's Hex would catch them if they even slowed down.
"What'd she find?" Monica asked, glancing over at the man before turning back to the road.
"R and D reports. All on the same project. Code name, Cataract." Jimmy informed her. "Hayward wasn't decommissioning Vision. He was trying to bring him back online. And nothing worked until,"
"Wanda stole Vision's body." Monica nodded, the pieces beginning to fit together.
"That's why he was so focused on tracking Vision inside the Hex." Jimmy realized.
"Hayward wants his sentient weapon back," Monica murmured.
"Someone has to tell Wanda," Jimmy said, causing Monica to nod.
"Look. There they are." Monica grinned as she and Jimmy got closer to several cars and a large metal storage container.
She and Jimmy quickly got out of the car and made a beeline for a woman already walking their way.
"Major Goodner." Monica grinned.
"Captain Rambeau." The woman smiled.
"This is Agent Woo." Monica introduced as Jimmy reached a hand out.
"Nice to meet you." Major Goodner nodded, shaking Jimmy's hand firmly.
"Thank you so much for coming. My mother would appreciate your loyalty." Monica said, taking the Major's hand in her own.
"She's not the only one we're loyal to, Captain," Goodner told Monica. "Let me show you what we brought you." She said before leading the pair over to the tent.
At Goodner's nod, a six-wheeled vehicle rolled out of the container.
"Did we get your specs right?" Goodner asked as Monica took several steps forward.
"She's perfect," Monica murmured, staring at the vehicle in awe.
"Hello, excuse me? You tried to help me." Vision said as he rushed after the dark-haired woman.
"Doubtful." She scoffed. "I'm notoriously self-involved." She said, continuing to walk away from Vision.
"No. No. No. Please, just hear me out." Vision begged, rushing in front of the woman, causing her to stop. "All right. I believe that you were a part of a team monitoring a supernatural anomaly. And now, well, you're in it." He said, causing the woman to sigh heavily.
"Fine. I'll go out with you, but I'm ordering the lobster." She said before attempting to walk away.
Vision let out a heavy sigh before a plan came to mind.
"Oh no, look! That mime! His tray is too heavy!" Vision gasped, causing the woman to spin and face said mime.
"Oh, your bad back!" She groaned before Vision pressed his hands to her temples. "Oh! Ooh, okay. Whoa!" Darcy gasped as the wall broke.
"Awake?" Vision asked, holding his hands out in case the woman toppled over
"Uh, yeah?"
"All right?" Vision confirmed.
"Ooh. Oh, hello, self. You know, part of me secretly wanted a guest spot on the show, but seriously? That sucked." Darcy admitted.
"Look, uh, what is your name? Your real name?" Vision demanded of her.
"Darcy Lewis."
"Dr. Darcy Lewis." Vision sighed in relief. "I intercepted a communication regarding your work." He recalled.
"Hey, the lions just got off stage. You're up." A man in a leotard told the two, who promptly ignored him.
"Dr. Lewis, I have questions," Vision told her.
"I have answers." She nodded.
"Brilliant. I believe it's time we take our leave." Vision said, noting the leotard-clad man approaching them.
"You're right, but first, we need him," Darcy said, pointing to a man who was throwing knives at a board.
Throwing knives at a board with an abnormal accuracy rate.
"Him? Are you sure?" Vision wondered.
"Yes. Trust me, we need him. Awake." Darcy told him.
"Alright." Vision nodded before he and Darcy rushed over to the blonde man.
The man snapped around when the two approached, but before he could say a word, Vision pressed his hands to the man's temples and broke the wall.
"Oh, shit." The man grunted, dropping his knives to the ground. "I never wanted to be back in the circus." He sighed, rubbing his temples before looking up. "It's good to see you, Darcy. And you too, Vision."
"I'm sorry, do I know you?" Vision wondered, cocking his head to the side.
"You do. You tried to choke me out once." He nodded. "I'm also your father-in-law. Clint Barton." He announced.
"We can catch you up on the road," Darcy said, nodding over to a funnel cake truck.
"I said you two are up." The leotard man said, appearing behind Vision and Darcy.
"No, I'm so sorry. But the three of us have a prior engagement." Vision apologized.
"They're not going anywhere." The man said, grabbing Darcy's arm.
But Darcy wasn't having any of it and quickly turned around and punched him in the face.
"Oh no!" Vision hissed.
"My nose!" The man cried from the ground as Darcy high-fived Clint.
"Sorry." Darcy shrugged as the three began to run towards the van.
"Come on."
"Excuse me!"
"Out of the way."
"Where do you think you're going? Get back here!" The leotard-clad man yelled before the three loaded themselves into the van.
"To your house, I assume?" Darcy asked as Clint searched the car for the keys.
"Dr. Lewis, my questions, are my children safe?" Vision demanded.
"That I don't know."
"Are my wife's safe?"
"I don't know."
"And who is that imposter Pietro?"
"Beats me."
"Ah-ha! Let's get moving." Clint cheered, having found the keys.
"Excellent." Vision grinned. As Clint started the car, there was a second that Vision allowed himself to relax in his chair before there was a pounding at the window that caused him to yell.
"Get out of there!" The man ordered.
"Sorry, can't hear you." Vision said apologetically.
"What?"
"Drive!" Vision exclaimed, turning towards Clint. "I'm so sorry. We were double-booked by the agents."
"You have to be on stage."
"Never again, pal," Clint yelled out his open window.
"Step on it, Clint!" Darcy shouted.
"What are you doing?"
"Can't hear you."
"You get back here! I need you! We need you!" The leotard man yelled, but it was fruitless.
The van had left the campground and was speeding towards Wanda and Y/N.
Y/N let out a sigh as she reached Vision's voicemail once more.
"Vis, please call me back. I need to know that you're okay and that you're safe. I need you, Vis, I need you now. I'm with the kids at the park. Something's wrong with Wanda, and I couldn't let them see her like that. Please, just. Please, just call me back. I love you." Y/N said before turning her phone off and turning her gaze back to her playing children.
"Y/N?"
At the call of her name, Y/N turned around to see Agnes approaching the bench she sat on.
"I thought that was you, hon." Agnes grinned, taking a seat beside her.
"Agnes, hi." Y/N gave Agnes a weak smile. "Were you out on a walk?"
"No, not today, hon. I actually went to your house." Agnes admitted. "I talked Wanda out of cutting her own bangs before she mentioned you and the kids were here."
"God, I shouldn't have left her alone." Y/N sighed, pressing her face into her hands.
"No, you did the right thing. No need to make the kids see their mother like that." Agnes promised. "You look like you need a break, Y/N. Say, why don't you bring the kids over to my house?" Agnes suggested.
"Oh, Agnes, are you sure?"
"Of course! Ralph just finished renovating the rumpus room, and the kids can play down there with Senor Scratchy, and we have some adult conversation." She told you.
"That sounds great, Agnes." Y/N sighed happily. "Give me a second to round up the kids, and we can get going." She said as she stood.
"I'll help." Agnes offered. "I'll bluster Aunty Agnes' house of fun so much they'll never want to leave."
While Y/N had been at the park with the kids, Wanda had been enjoying the quiet of the house.
She'd been able to turn off her brain as she ate her cereal and mindlessly watched the TV.
When her bowl was finished, Wanda rose from the couch and made her way towards the kitchen.
But it was when she neared the kitchen it started again.
The kitchen table glitched, reverting in style.
The light fixture was next, and the curtains soon followed.
And then the wallpaper to peel upwards, and the walls glitched between walls and windows.
The stairs flared, and Wanda snapped around when she heard the stork which had reappeared.
"I don't understand what's happening." Wanda sighed, staring blankly at a wall. "Why it's all falling apart and why I can't fix it." She elaborated.
"Do you think maybe this is what you deserve?"
"What?" Wanda asked, staring across from her in confusion. "You're not supposed to talk."
At Agnes' house, Agnes brought out a tray of snacks into the living room, where the kids sat playing with Senor Scratchy. Y/N was sitting in the kitchen, clutching a mug in her hands like it was her lifeline.
"Sweets for the sweets!" Agnes cooed, placing the tray on the table. "Penny, for your thoughts?" She asked Billy, who was gently patting her rabbit.
"I like it here," Billy told the woman.
"Oh, good. Is it because Senor Scratchy is such a good listener?" Agnes wondered.
"No. It's because it's quiet." Billy said before looking up at the woman. "You're quiet, Agnes. On the inside." He told her.
"And your colors are brighter." Luna piped up. "Brighter than the rest of the towns." She added in a low murmur.
"Do you think our Mama is okay?" Tommy asked their neighbor.
"Oh, for sure!" Agnes assured him. "You don't have to worry about your mom. She can do anything. She's a supermom!" She promised with a chuckle.
"Ralph says I sugarcoat things, but you try telling a ten-year-old that their mother is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs." Agnes shook her head with a sigh.
"Now, why don't you three go play in the basement while I talk with your Mom?" Agnes suggested.
The three kids gave her a nod before picking up Senor Scratchy and walking down the basement steps.
"How are you feeling now, hon?" Agnes asked as she re-entered the kitchen.
"Guilty, tired, like a crappy wife and mother." Y/N sighed, taking a long sip of her drink.
"Oh, that's not true, hon. You're a great wife. And a fantastic mother." Agnes promised, standing across from Y/N at the island.
"I left my wife during her breakdown, I don't know where Vision is, and I'm pretty sure our kids are borderline traumatized from watching Wanda this morning." Y/N shook her head.
"Oh, honey, I have seen trauma. Your kids are just fine." Agnes promised. "And you made the best decision you could in the moment. The kids didn't need to see their mother like that."
"I know. But I'm just so tired," Y/N told her. "I'm so, so, tired." She yawned as her eyelids began to grow heavier and heavier by the second.
"We're all set, Captain." Major Goodner said as Monica was safely secured into her suit.
"Thank you." She nodded before turning back to the glowing red force field.
"Darcy's not here to give her stamp of approval," Jimmy said as he walked over to the woman.
"I know. Darcy's in there, and I'm gonna go get her out." Monica said, causing Jimmy to smile. "This is our last shot, Jimmy." She added before her helmet was secured.
"Godspeed, Captain." Jimmy nodded at her.
Monica returned the nod before taking a breath to steel herself and then walking over to the vehicle.
"How much faith do you have in this thing?" Jimmy asked Goodner.
"It's our most heavily-armored space rover. She's gonna sail right through. Unharmed." Goodner assured the man before pulling on her headset. "Capcom, check," Goodner asked after watching Monica strap herself in.
"Good, check," Monica said, clicking the vehicle on.
"On your order, Captain," Goodner told Monica.
"Moving out."
"Contact in five, four, three, two, one." Goodner counted down as the vehicle raced towards the Hex.
But instead of Monica cruising through the Hex on one, the vehicle simply crashed into the barrier.
"What happened to sailing right through?" Jimmy demanded.
"The density is matching her," Goodner said, brows furrowing in confusion.
"I'm close. It's gonna give!" Monica exclaimed as she tried to push through the boundary.
"The structural integrity is failing. It's disintegrating." Goodner said, reading from the screen.
"No, it's being rewritten." Jimmy realized before picking up a walkie-talkie. "Monica, get out of there! Do you copy, Monica? Get out of there!" Jimmy demanded as Monica struggled to pull herself out of the changing car.
Before the entire vehicle could change completely, Monica managed to burst her way out of the top.
Tumbling to the ground below with a heavy thud.
"Get a medevac, now!" Jimmy yelled as he, and several of the soldiers, began to run towards Monica.
As Monica rose to her feet, she had to watch in shock as the vehicle was spat out of the Hex and launched through the air.
"Watch out!" Jimmy yelled, causing the agents to halt in their tracks and narrowly avoid being hit by the car.
Monica stared at the wreck of what she thought to be her only way back into Westview in disappointment. She continued to stare at it before an idea came to her mind.
"No, no," Jimmy murmured, watching Monica turn to the Hex with new purpose.
"I can get through!" She promised, pulling her helmet off and throwing it to the ground.
"Monica! No!" Jimmy yelled as Monica sprinted towards the Hex until her hands met the barrier.
Monica couldn't remember the first time she crossed through the barrier.
And there was a part of her that was grateful for that small mercy, but she wished she was better prepared for the pain she felt now.
As Monica forced her way through the barrier, memories of her past, moments she'd rather repress, began to resurface
It almost felt like she was breaking as Monica pushed her way further through the barrier.
Monica was being torn apart, and it took everything in her to continue pushing and keep Geraldine at bay.
But finally, finally, Monica was able to dive onto the other side, into Westview.
But when Monica made it into Westview, something was different. Something had changed in her.
Monica could see the energy all around her.
But Monica didn't have time to dwell on what was happening to her.
She needed to get to Wanda.
"So, Wanda killed me?" Vision asked slowly.
"Yes. But not because she wanted to. You asked her to do it." Clint clarified.
"Why would I have done that?" Vision wondered.
"To save half the universe," Clint told him, a frown appearing on his face at the memory.
"Did it work?"
"For a second, but Thanos, the bad guy, rewound time and killed you himself," Clint said.
"So in summation, I died, came back and died again." Vision nodded.
"Yeah, pretty much." Darcy piped up from the back of the truck.
"And both Wanda and Y/N had to watch. Both times." Clint added, slowing the car down to a stop.
"Oh man, another red light? We're in the sticks. This is overkill." Darcy groaned.
"I believe, I think that Wanda is creating these impediments to stop me returning home." Vision said, sitting in a chair outside the truck.
"Also, it never rains in Westview, right?" Darcy wondered, staring at the droplets on the windshield.
"Not unless Y/N is making it happen," Clint said as the light flicked green.
The car's occupants let out a happy sigh, and the truck began to move once more before coming to a sudden halt.
Men in trucks had pulled up directly in front of their van and started working on the street lights, causing everyone to sigh heavily.
"I'm not amused." Vision shook his head.
"Great, just take your time, fellas." Darcy groaned, leaning back into her chair.
"So if I am to understand correctly, my original code dates back to an AI called JARVIS? But my corporeal form was born of Ultron's plan for global genocide?" Vision asked, seeking clarification.
"Yeah, it was a hell of a time." Clint shook his head.
"Then, what am I now?" Vision asked.
"You're Vision." Clint shrugged, causing Darcy to sigh.
"Look, I'm more of a STEM type of lady, so I thought Wanda just flipped a switch on your head and brought you back to life." She told him.
"But that doesn't explain why you can't leave the Hex." Clint cut in.
"But what I do know is that I've been watching the show for the past week, and the love you three have is real," Darcy told Vision with a genuine smile.
"It's always been real," Clint added. "I've always known it. I wasn't always there to see it, but I saw enough to know that you have always loved one another. That the three of you belong with together." He told his son-in-law.
Wanda had finally forced herself to get dressed and felt a lot better than she had earlier when she heard a call that ruined her day.
"Wanda? Wanda!" Monica yelled, forcing her way into Wanda's home.
"What are you doing?" Wanda gasped, staring at the woman in shock.
"Wanda,"
"How did you get in here?" Wanda asked, now looking the woman over in anger.
"Listen to me. This whole thing is about Vision." Monica started.
"Get out of my house," Wanda demanded, glaring at Monica with a fire in her eyes.
"Hayward was trying to bring him,"
"Don't talk to me about that! Don't talk about my family! I don't wanna hear about it!" Wanda snapped, using her magic to push Monica out of her house. "The drones, the missiles, Pietro?" Wanda demanded, holding Monica in the air for all the neighborhood to see.
"No, wait, Pietro, that wasn't us." Monica stammered.
"All you do is lie!" Wanda exclaimed before throwing Monica to the ground.
But Monica did not crumple to the ground. Monica stopped her descent and stared up at Wanda with electric blue eyes.
"The only lies I've told are the ones you put in my mouth," Monica said, taking small steps closer to the witch.
"Careful what you say to me," Wanda warned, creating a ball of red energy by her side.
"Do it then. Take me out." Monica shrugged. "See, see? This is where you and Hayward differ. He's gonna burn Westview to the ground just to get what he wants. Don't let him make you the villain." Monica pleaded with her once friend.
"Maybe I already am." Wanda swallowed harshly.
"I'm not afraid of you, Wanda. I lost the person closest to me, too. I get being scared. I know that feeling. The worst thing I can think of has already happened to me, and I can't change it. I can't undo it. I can't control this pain anymore! And I don't think I want to because it's my truth." Monica admitted. "Wanda, you have to,"
"Young lady, I think you have overstayed your welcome," Agnes announced, appearing beside Wanda out of nowhere. "Poor Wanda has been through enough," Agnes said, putting an arm around Wanda.
"This doesn't concern you," Monica told Agnes. "Wanda,"
"Run along, dear." Agnes dismissed Monica, already pulling Wanda away from her.
"Wanda, you have to take it down," Monica begged as the two started to walk away.
"No." Wanda snapped, turning around fiercely. "Don't make me hurt you."
"All right."
"Okay, let's wrap it up."
"Fucking finally." Clint sighed as the road before them began to clear of workers.
Just as Clint began to drive again, he was forced to stop by a woman walking into the middle of the road with a sign.
"Oh, come on!" Clint snapped.
"Come on, kids," Darcy whined, watching as a large group of children began to cross the road.
"Kids?"
"What's next, puppies?"
"I had no idea how much Wanda had endured before coming to Westview. The same for Y/N. I've had no idea how much the three of us have been through. Though I can't remember it." Vision mused. "For me, it feels like it happened to someone else, you know? But for Wanda and for Y/N, it was mere weeks ago." He shook his head. "What am I doing here, sitting, talking to you when I should be with them. This is absurd. I need to get to my wives. I need to go home."
"You always stop for dogs, Lewis, and that's final," Clint said before Vision phased out of the top of the van.
Flying away from them.
"So we'll just meet you there, then?" Clint yelled.
"Was he always like this?" Darcy wondered.
"Oh, here. Would you care for a cup of tea, dear?" Agnes asked, leading Wanda into her home.
"Sure. Thank you, Agnes."
"Okay, sit down. Be right back with that." Agnes promised, sitting Wanda down on the couch.
Wanda let out a sigh as she was left alone in Agnes' living room.
As Wanda looked around her friend's home, she noticed things.
Three plates with sandwiches on them, three glasses of chocolate milk, a coffee cup, and a locket Wanda knew belonged to Y/N.
"Agnes?"
"Hm?"
"Are Y/N and the kids here?" Wanda asked, picking the locket up and holding it between her fingers.
"Oh, yes. I found them at the park and invited them here." Agnes responded.
"Where are they then? Where are the kids and Y/N?"
"Oh, I think they went down to the basement," Agnes told her.
Without a word, Wanda rose from the couch and walked towards the basement door.
"Boys? Luna? Y/N?" Wanda called, walking down the stairs and further into the basement.
Much to Wanda's surprise, when she rounded the corner, she saw a doorway covered in thick vines.
Wanda called her family's names into the doorway, and when no one responded, she continued to walk forward.
At the end of the hallway, she found a small room. It, too, was decorated with vines, along with strange symbols and other items of intrigue.
One that particularly caught her eye was a glowing book.
Wanda would have moved closer to the book but was distracted by the sound of footsteps.
"Wanda, Wanda. You didn't think you were the only magical girl in town, did you?" Agnes wondered, now standing across from her with Senor Scratchy in her arms.
As Wanda stared at Agnes in confusion, Agnes raised a hand and caused the door to slam shut in a purple glow.
"The name's Agatha Harkness. Lovely to finally meet you, dear." Agnes, Agatha, grinned before her eyes flashed a vibrant purple.
And with that, Agnes entered Wanda's mind and showed her who she really was.
Hello, how about a scenario with Mama Arc going to visit her son in Beacon, Jaune is happy to see his mother.
Meanwhile the entire Beacon staff is in a panic, because in Ozpin's words, he doesn't want to have to deal with that monster.
(You actually just handed me a way to introduce my version of Mama Arc. For this I thank you.)
---
Pyrrha: Jaune?
Jaune: Yeah?
Pyrrha: Is that woman currently holding the Headmaster in an Armlock your mother?
Jaune: Yup, she did mention something about "Opening a can of whoop ass on the man who threw me into a forest."
Nora: Was she also the one who basically beat the snot out of the faculty members that rushed her when she got off the Bullhead?
Jaune: The very same.
Ren: Why though?
Jaune shrugged.
Jaune: Something about a Bounty on her I guess, she used to tell me about how she used to run a gang after dropping out of Beacon.
Pyrrha: Your mom was a student and has an active bounty on her?
Jaune: I guess, my dad was the one who claimed it after he got her pregnant. Dad says it was a "Enemies to Lovers" type thing. Although my mom says it was because he was better looking and actually worth a fight than her own gang lackeys were, plus he promised that if she beat him he would do anything she wanted. You know, Arc's word?
Ren: That's rather concerning.
Pyrrha: But very interesting.
Nora: What's her name anyways?
Jaune: Oh, it's Lachaira. Grandma said something about it meaning Steel in a different language.
Nora: Cool!
The group continue to watch as Jaune's mom is tackled by a faculty member she had knocked out previously.
Pyrrha: Should we help out?
They watched as the shorter woman shoved the larger man off of her and delivered several rapid punches the man face. The last one proved effective as the hook she sent made the man's head jerk violently before dropping to the ground with a thud.
Nora: It looks like she's winning.
The Headmaster was still in the floor as Lachaira made her way to him, the group thought they heard the man make a plea before she put him into an impressive arm bar.
Ren: I don't think an arm is meant to bend that way.
There a snap that echoed from Ozpin followed by a loud yell. The group winced when they heard it.
Nora: Hey Jaune?
Jaune: Yes Nora?
Nora: Is your mom single?
Jaune, Pyrrha and Ren looked at Nora in confusion and surprise. They then saw Jaune's mom pick up and dust herself off before walking towards them with a small limp, several scratches and a few bruises.
---
Lachaira Arc. Tanned skin and standing at a proud 5'5" with, in Nora's words, a body that looked like she lifted Ursa on a daily and punched boulders for fun. Her black hair was showing the faintest of silver and braided into a low ponytail. Dressed in a simple white shirt that was now dusted with dirt, tucked into a pair of black fitted pants with leather chaps over them and wearing a pair of sturdy black steel toe boots. She had finished using a small towel to wipe the dirt off her face to show the slight tomboyish looking face she had. Of course what struck out the most was the pair of blue eyes that were the same color, if not darker than Jaune's.
Lachaira: So I take it you kiddos enjoyed the show back there?
She grinned and showed off her oddly pointed set of teeth.
Nora: You bet Mama Arc, cool teeth by the way!
Ren: Pardon me for asking, but are you a faunus?
Lachaira chuckled.
Lachaira: Let me guess, was it my perfect skin or alluring curves that gave it away? But yeah, I'm a Faunus.
She narrowed her eyes.
Lachaira: That isn't going to be a problem is it?
Ren raised his hands.
Ren: Not at all, just curious was all.
Nora: What kind are you?
Lachaira raised a brow.
Lachaira: Curious one's aren't ya, well I'm a Honey Badger, besides the teeth I also have the tenacity of one, or at least that what my folks say.
Jaune walked back into he dorm room with a glass of water.
Jaune: Here you go mom, couldn't find any soda so I hope this is okay.
His mom cooed at him and stood up.
Lachaira: Aw, my poor little Knight is worried about his mama.
She grabbed him a bear hug as his team heard the various pops of his spine.
Lachaira: I'm so glad I was able to raise such a sweet boy like you.
Jaune however struggled for breath.
Jaune: Thanks mom... Love you too... Please let go?
She gave a 'oops' and let Jaune go as he greatly sucked in his breath.
Pyrrha: Ma'am if it's okay to ask, why did you beat up our Headmaster?
The Arc Mother shrugged.
Lachaira: I gave my word that I would open a can of whoop ass on the man who threw my son into a forest.
Before Pyrrha could ask she felt Lachaira's hands on her face as she stared deeply into her eyes. The Spartan began to blush slightly as he face drew closer and closer before stopping a few inches.
Lachaira: Huh, you're right kiddo, her eyes would make even Emeralds envious.
Jaune: Mom! I thought you promised you weren't gonna say anything from the letters!
Now the Spartan let out a full blown blush while his mom laughed.
Lachaira: Sorry sweetie by I had my fingers crossed. Now then.
She let go of Pyrrha's face and looked towards Ren and Nora.
Lachaira: Which one is the bubbly bomber and which is the pretty boy?
Nora and Ren only gulped as Jaune covered his face in despair and embarrassment.
In the Beacon Medical Ward
Several of the Faculty members now sat with casts and bandages on their bodies. Amongst them was the Headmaster himself in a full body cast now as his sipped at his coffee with a long straw.
The Deputy if Beacon did not looked amused as she read over a file on the very woman who did this
Goodwitch: Lachaira Arc, Honey Badger Faunus. Dropped out of Beacon, former leader of a gang formerly called Oso Heaven, had a bounty placed on her by the kingdom of Atlas, bounty collected by a man named Gregory Greene.
She turned the page and sighed.
Goodwitch: So it was James that had a new bounty placed on her the very day she arrived here, and by your request?
Ozpin stopped sipping and looked at Glynda.
Ozpin: When she was student she was the best of in her year, more than that she was able to single handedly take out three teams of trainees after an altercation involving her Faunus aspects. In her words she stold then, "You're a bunch of fucking pansies that deserve to get dicked down by an Ursa in heat." promptly broke a number of limbs of her opponents and causing an entire team to drop out as well due to the severity of their injuries, without any weapon besides her bare hands and teeth. She then handed in her form for leaving the school, flipped me the bird and took the last Bullhead that was leaving that day.
Glynda: But now?
Ozpin gave a breath.
Ozpin: She seems to be a mother to one our students and was simply here to visit. I was wrong to quickly assume she would cause havoc. No charges will be pressed either as it was our own fault for instigating a retaliation from her.
A man on one of the beds with bandages wrapped around his face spoke.
Steve: I said I was sorry!
Ozpin: Well sorry doesn't fix broken ribs now does it Steve!?
Glynda let out a sigh, silently thankful that she wasn't around for the initial confrontation.
July 31, 2021
(Sorry about the late response but Work happened. Anyways here she is Lachaira Arc! I always like the idea of Jaune's mom being some kind of Faunus, it's just skipped a generation, plus I just like a lady that can kick ass one moment but be all sweet the next.
Kinda like Quetzalcoatl from the Fate series.
Anyways, hope this was sufficient enough so have a great day and thanks for the ask!)
