The Fan’s Boys

This is based off the Fanboy!AU that @jordansgreenshorts, @itsramen, an Anon on Shorts’ Tumblr and myself created about SyndiShotSparklez. (1711 Words)

Jordan Maron, also known as CaptainSparklez on Tumblr, was the biggest fan of a YouTube series named ‘Mianite’. Anything collectible you could find, you could guarantee that Jordan already had on the day it came out, he had posters stuck up on his bedroom walls, a couple shelves on a bookcase dedicated to his Mianite figurines, a section on his wardrobe that only had Mianite t-shirts hung up neatly – ordered by the different YouTubers of course – and lastly, his two prized possessions.  Nadeshot and Syndicate body pillows that were proudly laid on his double bed, one either side so that he could lay in between the two YouTubers. Obsessive was a word that Jordan had heard himself being described as, Creep was another, but Jordan brushed that all off as he sat at his desk drawing another picture of Nadeshot and Syndicate hugging his own character who looked remarkably like himself. His eyes flicking to look up at the plushies on his desk smiling at him, a rush of excitement went through him. In just twelve hours he would be meeting the two men he had fallen so incredibly hard for, he sighed and ran his fingers through the short, tangled, black curls of hair on his head.

‘I need a break’ Jordan thought to himself before standing up and stretching his body, clicking noises filled the room as he had been hunched over for some time now. He jogged downstairs to grab a bottle of water quietly before using the bathroom and plopping back into his desk chair, he clicked onto Tumblr and scrolled through it, not paying full attention to it. That is until he saw in big, bold, black letters: Mianite Harem Visual Novel. Jordan sat up straight and furrowed his brows as he read through the post, how had he missed this? A wide grin soon took over his face as he downloaded it excitedly, leg bouncing as he couldn’t sit still anymore. An almost silent giggle escaping him as he opened it up and clicked new game, the alarm clock beside him reading ‘1:13 AM’

The clock now read ‘3:42 AM’ and Jordan was finally finishing up his third play through, he had found out that there was a secret ending and he just had to find it before going to sleep and that’s exactly what he did. He sat with headphones on listening to Nadeshot’s voice actor tell him how he had fallen for him, while Syndicate’s voice actor agreed and told him more or less the same thing. This is all Jordan had ever wanted to hear, his two idols tell him that they were utterly in love with him. With pinks cheeks, Jordan saved the play through and shut the program down, his art popping back up that he had completely forgotten about. He bit his lip in thought before shaking his head at himself, saving the file and closing the computer down completely.

‘I don’t need more art to show them, I have folder full already’ He mused with a soft chuckle, stripping off his shirt and shorts before crawling into bed and wrapping his arms around Syndicate’s waist and resting his head on his chest sleepily. He took a deep breath as he shut his eyes and cuddled into the pillow with the blanket, slipping into sleep with the reminder of needing to update one of his many fanfictions in the morning.

Jordan made himself look as best as he could when he was shaking in anticipation, his hair styled perfectly into his little quiff, a black Syndicate t-shirt and a pair of black jeans. He was stood chatting to a girl who he had planned on meeting up with at the meet-up, Jordan couldn’t help but blush as people recognized him from the picture he posted before he left saying that he was going and to say hi if they wanted to. People praised him for his art, both on his main blog and on his not so secret nsfw art blog, and sometimes requested him to draw things, he just smiled and nodded along as he was a little too shy to really speak to all the new people. Syndicate and Nadeshot stood together as they spoke to one girl who was grinning and talking so fast it was hard to understand whatever she was talking about, they posed for pictures and hugged before she walked away and squealed about it to her small group of friends who were waiting for her. Fan after fan walked up, had their conversation, took pictures and hugged the two men before leaving, the queue in front of Jordan slowly shortened and he felt his nerves get worse and worse as his fingers tugged and scrunched the corners of the plastic wallets inside his folder that was pressed close to his chest.

‘What if they hate it, what if I’m not good enough, what if they like I’m weird?’ Jordan’s mind panicked and short fused as tears gathered in his eyes and he felt like he couldn’t move or breathe anymore, his friend was before him so he had no one to help him relax and the pushing crowd wasn’t helping in the slightest. Jordan’s friend walked away and they both glanced over to see the smaller man trembling with tears running down his cheeks looking terrified and freaked out, Nadeshot led the other over to him as he placed on hand on Jordan’s shoulder. Seeing that the boy had completely gone into shock Nade hugged the boy as Syndicate told the rest of the fans that they’d be back in a few moments after they had calmed Jordan down, Nade helped him walk behind the building they were next to and Jordan just lent into Nade slightly.

“Hey there buddy, what’s your name?” Nadeshot cooed as he helped Jordan sit down and he sat in front of him with a gentle smile to keep him relaxed as Syndicate followed what Nade was doing as it seemed he knew what he was doing with the fan.

“J-Jo-Jordan” He managed to stammer out so they both smiled and nodded, Syndicate leaning forward to hug him and Jordan just crumbling and crying into him as he hugged him back. Jordan had imagined this moment for so long and now they’re right in front of him, holding him and caring for him, it was all too much for him and his sudden panic attack had shaken him up badly.

“As I’m sure you already knew, I’m Matt and this is Tom. Can I ask what this is?” He tapped the folder Jordan had dropped when he hugged Tom, he peeled himself away and picked the book up, his cheeks turning pink as he held it out with shaking hands for Matt to take and look at. He gently took it and opened it to see a picture Jordan had drawn of Tom and Matt with their arms around each other’s shoulders grinning, the two YouTubers flicked through the art as they grinned and pointed at some excitedly “Is this you?” He asked pointing to Jordan’s own character making him blush harder and nod as he found it hard to meet either set of brown eyes looking down at him, the night sent reading and writing fanfiction, not to mention some of the things he had drawn, about them contributing to his shyness.

“These are fucking amazing Jordan! You’re an awesome artist” Tom praised him and Matt heartily agreed which just led to Jordan feeling lightheaded and dizzy as he slumped back against the brick wall, Tom squeaking in shock as Matt ran off to grab a bottle of water for him, helping Jordan to tilt his head slightly and carefully aiding him to drink.

“Easy Jordan, don’t need you fainting on us… You know we’re just normal people, we’re just like you, it’s okay. Don’t think of us as these people who are held so much higher than you, we’re nothing amazing, just some guys who play Minecraft” Matt coaxed him as Jordan built enough strength to take the bottle and finish it before collecting himself, he wiped back the tears that were sat on his rosy cheeks. Both of them hugged Jordan tightly and he cuddled up to the pair affectionately while he tried to sort out his stressed brain, Jordan didn’t realize that tears were slipping down his face again until Tom was wiping them away again and encouraging him to stop.

“I-I’m sorry I messed up, I-I think I just got overwhelmed and I was scared you wouldn’t like me or my art” He finally admitted with his dropped, voice sounding weak and fragile before he felt a hand tilt his head up and lips press the burning skin of his cheeks as Tom and Matt had just kissed him, only burning his face redder as he gasped and looked at them shocked.

“It’s fine cutie, now dry those tears and let’s get back there yeah?” Tom cheered energetically making the younger giggle and smile before nodding timidly, Matt and Tom either side of him as they helped him up and Matt was holding onto Jordan’s folder.

They led him by the hand so the crowd burst into cheers as people started calling his name, he looked confused but saw Erin and a couple of the others he had met leading the crowd to cheer for him. Matt and Tom lifting his hands up in victory while he just blushed and smiled, hearing a thousand phones take his picture embarrassingly.

They hugged and took pictures before Jordan waved at the pair as Erin dragged him away, Jordan practically beaming and skipping along beside her after a moment. She begged him for details but he just smirked and repeated that it was his secret that he only shared with his two idols… That night while Jordan was finishing off the picture from the previous night he heard his phone ping as he got a text, confused he looked over to see an unknown number with the message.

‘Someone was a hopeful little artist xx - Tom and Matt’

He had completely forgotten that he wrote his contact details in the back of the folder.

3. Have you ever been lost in an unfamiliar setting? I have been lost in many countries. Thank god for Google’s offline maps

5. You overhear two people gossiping about you; what do you do? Nothing probably. I mean, what would they even have to say about me? I’m not interesting enough to talk about.

6. When you watch the news, how does it effect your mood? Either neutral or negative. That’s why I stopped watching/reading the news unless it’s an article I’m actually interested in.

7. Do you ever have anxiety attacks? Fortunately no. I had one panic attack when I was like 12 but I didn’t even realise it was a panic attack until many years later.

8. Have you been to the library in your city any time recently? I don’t even know where any libraries are in this city.

9. Would you ever wish to move to another country? Who, me? 

10. Have you ever had anything expensive stolen from you? MY GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKING POTATOES. Look, this happened 3 years ago and I am still bitter about it. I don’t even care about the cash they stole from my wallet, I’m just angry they broke into my apartment and stole my potatoes.

13. How do you decide whether to accept or not accept a friend request? Well, if I don’t know them I don’t accept.

16. Do you wear your hair up or down most often? I have short hair. But I do put the fringe up when it’s a bit shorter or when I’m going out.

28. Have you ever been to a wedding? I’ve been to a few family weddings. The first of my friends is getting married at the end of the year and I’m a groomsman. They couldn’t stand the thought of seeing me in a dress at their wedding so I’ll be on his side.

34. Are you happy? sure, I’m content. I’m under the blankets in bed with the heater going, messaging with a friend. I’m going to London tomorrow and back to Australia and all my friends in 2 weeks.

My maroon converse that I just had to throw out because I finally had to call time of death after they walked over a thousand kilometers in 11 countries and were totally falling apart and had holes in them and a random pink stain on one of the toes which I do not know how it happened. Benefits of being a shift worker for years is that you learn to sleep whenever you get a chance. Also being a traveller has helped too because now I can even sleep on planes which is a goddamn miracle. 90. Would you like to go ziplining someday? I went in Boquete in Panama. It was pretty rad.
