Sleep nonnie again. Is it okay if I go by 🦊🌲 its easier.
Anyways I think it would be a funny scenario if you suggest to the op boys to keep their hands warm by putting them between your thighs. I know some boys would just get a heart attack if you suggest that and get a cute blush
say whAT NOW?? NONNIE HELLO AND WELCOME BACK!! (dm me so that we can be friends ur fic ideas are so out of pocket i love it); also, gonna add ace cause i see many ace thirsties out there ;)
let me warm you up ft. the monster trio//ace!
luffy:
💗when he agreed to this, he didn't know just what kind of uncharted territory he was entering. he was simply not prepared. you had given him such a soft smile, taking his hands into yours as gingerly, "luff, are you cold?" he had nodded a mindless yes because you were crossing a terribly cold patch of the sea and his hands were freezing. but then held his hand a bit tighter and whispered, "i can warm them up for you. if you like?" he was too drunk on the idea to see the mischievous glint in your eyes and the way you spurred him on with your honey-like voice.
💗so now, he sat in front of you, eyes blown wide and lips trembling as his hands rested between your plush thighs. you had squeezed your thighs shut around his restless hands, claiming that it'll get him warm in little to no time. but god, this was hard (much like something else) and he was trying his best to keep his fingers still and not do anything hasty, like digging it into your soft flesh and relishing in the way your body molded to his touches. or by trailing his hand a bit upwards and seeing the way you react. 💗"luffy??" you called out and captain shook his head as he crawled out of that daze like state, "y-yeah?" "you okay?" you mumbled, voice far too gentle. you fucking minx. "you seem like you're losing your mind." good catch! because he was. luffy abruptly pulled his hands backwards lest he do something that truly made him lose his sanity. he scrambled off of your bed, heading out the door into the chilly deck in long, skitterish steps. "where ya going?" you called after him but he rushed out, yelling after himself, "JUST GONNA WARM UP WITH USSOP INSTEAD BYE" did ussop have better thighs than you? you may never know.
zoro:
💚zoro was very stupid, very. he was not the smartest tool in the shed when it came to love or crushes or dating or cooking food or social cues or emotional intelligence or— i should stop before this turns into zoro slander [i promise i love him]. but now, the bounty hunter sat with his face flushed and hands tucked between your soft, malleable thighs. he was smarter than this, truly. he knew that when you suggested that he looked cold and you can warm him up, he was supposed to say "fuck no, get out." because having a crush on you was embarrassing enough on it's own. but you had given him such a gut-wrenching, pleading look. your eyes saddened and your lips fell into a pout and oh god, what was he, if not the man who would let you ruin him? 💚ever since he was a child, zoro had always known that he would die a noble swordman's death. he would die fighting, brave, courageous, unafraid. now, he was sure he'd die from the way you squirmed and pressed your thighs shut. "quit movin'" he grunted, looking away from you as your stared at him. but you tucked your arms against your chest and the soft swell of your tits fell forward towards him so deliciously. he must have lost focus and let his gaze travel against your body cause you coughed, drawing his attention back to your face, "quit starin'." he pulled his hands back, ears going red and heart faltering. he should really stop before he gave into the temptations and pinned you to the mattress to— his voice pitched up, "i-i'm going back to my room, bye." "zoro?!" you called after the swordsman as he ran out, "BUT THIS IS YOUR ROOM, WHERE ARE YOU GOING??" [spoiler: he went to chopper and crushed herbs to make medicine. he wanted to get rid of some of that tension but he failed. because he put the pressure too hard and the china dish in which he was crushing the leafy herbs broke, and now chopper was hitting him square in his head, talking about how important it was to be precise in medicine and how zoro will never make a good doctor. "stop hitting me— OW" "what KIND OF A DOCTOR ARE YOU?" "IM A SWORDSMAN!" "YEAH CAUSE YOU CANNOT BE A DOCTOR!"]
sanji:
💙breath in, breathe out. breathe in, breathe out. breath in, breath out— "sanji?" you asked, a tinge of worry at his almost fainting figure, "are you okay?!" "my love, darling, sugar pie—" the man caught his tongue between his teeth, trying to stop his head from spinning. the floor seem to sway under him, the lights seemed too bright. was he flying or was it the blood rush?? "what did you just ask me?" you look down at the kitchen floor, mumbling with a bashful smile, "if your hands are cold...i can warm them up." his heart quickened as did his fingers. he chopped the bell pepper so hastily that you were sure you saw sparks flying. "and how would you do that?" "you can keep them between my thighs, if you like?" you looked up, "OH MY GOD SANJI YOUR NOSE—" 💙i hate to cut the story short but sanji 100% fainted and you had to catch him before he fell face-forward into the pot with boiling water on the stove. sorry, he gets no bitches :( but you did look after him on the bedside and let him eventually touch your thighs so... idk, a win is a win!!! ["so, is he like dead?" zoro had asked, uninterested, as you hauled the cook's figure outside the kitchen. you were dragging him to his room as the rest of the crew trailed you. they had heard your shriek and came spilling into the kitchen to see what the fuss was about. "did you give him a hug?" nami asked, amused. "hug's too much." ussop snickered, "she probably smiled at him." sanji whipped his head dangerously to glare at them, "i can hear you. and i will be poisoning your food." he looked back at you, "oh don't you worry, im still fainted." he closed his eyes, letting his forehead fall on your shoulder. you smiled to yourself, making a note to warm him up later]
ace:
🧡truthfully, how do you ask a man made of literal fire if you can "warm him up"??? you must have not thought you plan through because you had stood in his room a bit tipsy, locked the door behind you and asked a boy [who was always shirtless cause he was so warm] that question. "huh?" ace's eyes widened in pleasant surprise. he stood up to walk towards you, "what is that about? you wanna warm me up?" "NO!" you bit your cheek when you realized the implications of your words, "i was joking, obviously." "awh, i do love when you humor me." he quipped, "it's kinda cute." "shut up." you glared at him but he gave you an earnest smile back, "if you're cold, you could have just told me." he set his finger ablaze, acting suave, "see, i can warm you up." "you wanna set me on fire?" you seethed. "no?!" "why did you light your fingers on fire?!" "YOU ASKED A MAN MADE OF FIRE IF YOU CAN WARM HIM UP? DONT ASK ME QUESTIONS?!" "i'm drunk" you mumbled. after a beat you looked down at the floor, "and... i'm kinda cold." portagas d. ace just smiled, shrugging in mock nonchalance, "we can cuddle, if you like. i've been told i'm a pretty great heater." you laughed, "hah, hotshot." ace gave you a wicked grin, "how drunk are you?" "not nearly enough." just saying, portagas d ace was better than just a "pretty great heater." he was a pretty great fu-

°°••| the last goodbye |••°°
A One Shot (very short) by Black Grulla.
I would return, after all the disaster of the war in the headquarters. Although at first, I wouldn't have any ingrained feelings about the whole situation; until that moment. The sadness I felt was deep, I never thought it would "touch my soul." It was night. Kuraigana looked magnificent, compared to other times, it's like if she wanted to accompany the sad news that i was carrying on my back. I walked along the shore. Mihawk and i went on different directions, who was going straight to the castle. I walked and walked, feeling the pocket of my black coat; inside, I would have a memory. I arrived at my ship, where my companion in good faith was there; Kian. I could feel his presence, I could feel him lying asleep on the deck, so I jumped gently. Making noise wasn't necessary to wake him up; my smell was enough.
-Miss captain! -he expressed with joy. It was like a pet, awaiting for its owner to finally come; It was so sad-
I'm so glad to see you, Miss!Tell me, what happened ? They managed to save him, right? I heard that White Beard was the strongest man in the world…surely they did it! Right?
I didn't respond, and I would assume that at least with that he would realize it on his own, but he continued speaking with energy, ending each sentence with a "right?"; It was so sad to break an illusion. I wanted him to enjoy his last moment of happiness before the caustics news. When two minutes passed without me responding to his questions, I lowered myself to his stature, and put my hand in my right pocket. Kian just looked at me with sparkles in his eyes, like a little boy; Now he wasn't smiling, but it seemed like he was.
-Kian… -I responded with a melancholic voice, but still serious and calm.-… -I gave a heavy and noticeable sigh, my heart accelerated a little, wanting to hurt itself.- they managed to save him. ..but
-But…- Kian asked, beginning to understand little by little, gradually entering in a state of shock, with a now notable fear in his eyes.-
-…Ace, died. - it's all over bar the shouting. I let him go and now it was time to explain what happened. I could see how Kian's pupils dilated like two dots in white pools. - no one could do anything… he died protecting his younger brother, Monkey D Luffy, from an attack by one of the admirals… Akainu . -that name bounced in his mind and his brow furrowed little by little; Still no tears. But he soon loosened when I grabbed his shoulder with my free hand, now with a slightly more trembling voice.- I'm so sorry… from my aforementioned pocket, I took out a red pearl necklace; it was from Ace. When the necklace burst due to the attack of the aforementioned marine, I collected all the beads I could and put it back together again. I put the necklace in his hands; now, he looked at it with shock and that's when the tears started. He began to cry, first silently, and then with the strength left in his heart, not believing that he….was actually gone; forever. I hugged him again.
-I'm really sorry, honestly….
I started crying too. Tears ran through the eyes of my silver mask, while the moon shone behind me.

Finding Freedom
The port town was lively as usual, the sounds of the market bustling with activity. But near Buggy the Clown’s ship, tension hung in the air. His crew was celebrating another successful raid, piling up their stolen treasures. Amid the chaos, a young woman sat chained to the mast, her clothes torn and her gaze distant.
Luna didn’t know how long it had been since Buggy had found her washed up on the shore after the storm. She had tried to run, tried to scream for help, but her words barely formed, her voice weak from fear and confusion. She sat in silence now, her large eyes staring at the ground, resigned to whatever fate awaited her.
Suddenly, a loud crash shattered the quiet. Shouts erupted as a figure shot through the chaos like a bullet—Monkey D. Luffy, wearing a wide grin, punched a pirate clean off the deck. “Gomu Gomu no Pistol!” he yelled, stretching his arm to knock out another crew member. His eyes gleamed with excitement, completely unfazed by the mayhem.
Nami, following behind him, sighed in exasperation. “Do you always have to rush in like that?”
"Why not? It’s fun!” Luffy replied cheerfully, dodging another pirate's attack.
As the fight raged on, Nami’s sharp eyes scanned the deck and landed on Luna, the only figure who wasn’t fighting or moving. The girl looked small and lost, her wrists bound by heavy chains.
“There,” Nami said, nudging Luffy. “We need to free her.”
Luffy's attention immediately shifted. He bounded over, knocking aside a pirate who tried to block his path. He skidded to a stop in front of Luna, crouching down to meet her eye level. His face softened, the playful grin fading into something gentler. “Hey,” he said quietly, “we’re here to help.”
Luna looked up slowly, her expression filled with uncertainty. Her lips trembled as she tried to form words. “H-help?” she whispered, her voice so soft it was barely audible.
Luffy flashed her a comforting smile. “Yeah, we’re gonna take you away from here. You’re free now.”
Luna blinked, her brow furrowing in confusion. “Free…?” The word felt foreign to her, like a concept she had long forgotten.
With a swift motion, Luffy used his knife to cut through the chains binding her. Luna flinched at the noise but didn’t move.
“Come with us,” Luffy continued, standing up and holding out his hand. “You can join my crew if you want!”
Luna stared at his outstretched hand, unsure. She hesitated, glancing between Luffy’s face and the open sea beyond the ship. “J-join…?” she stammered, her voice still small, childlike. “But… I don’t know if… if I can.”
Luffy tilted his head, his grin never fading. “Of course, you can! You’re free now. You get to choose what you wanna do!” He paused, then asked, “What’s your dream?”
Luna’s heart ached at the question. Dream? She hadn’t thought about dreams in so long, the concept seemed distant. Her life had been nothing but survival, first as a slave to a Celestial Dragon, and then trapped under Buggy’s cruel watch. Her voice cracked as she answered, “I… I don’t have one…”
Nami, who had been watching the interaction, stepped forward. “Luffy,” she said softly, “don’t push her.” She looked at Luna with sympathy in her eyes. “She’s been through enough.”
Luffy blinked, clearly not understanding why his question might’ve been overwhelming. “Oh… sorry about that,” he said, scratching his head sheepishly.
Zoro, who had been leaning against the ship’s railing, observing the whole scene, sighed. He wasn’t one for soft words, but he could see Luna’s uncertainty. Without saying anything, he walked over, placing a hand on her shoulder. His touch was firm, but not forceful. He gave a slight nudge, silently encouraging her to move towards their small ship. “Let’s go. It’s safer there.”
Luna glanced up at Zoro, startled by his quiet gesture, but something about the way he didn’t force her or ask questions made her feel a little less afraid. With a deep breath, she nodded slowly and took her first tentative steps forward.
As they moved towards the ship, Luffy, now fully back to his usual cheerful self, bounced beside her, chattering excitedly. “You’ll love it with us! We’re pirates, but the fun kind! And we’re gonna find the One Piece and be the best crew ever!”
Luna listened quietly, still processing everything, while Luffy continued talking as if nothing in the world could go wrong. She found a small spark of comfort in his endless optimism.
Just as they were about to reach the ship, Nami, who had been walking behind them, crossed her arms and added, “Just so you know, I’m not part of this crew. I’m only here for a while to steal—” she caught herself and quickly corrected, “I mean, to gather money.”
Luffy frowned and spun around. “You’re totally part of the crew, Nami!”
Nami rolled her eyes. “Not happening.”
Zoro shook his head at their bickering, but Luna’s lips tugged into the faintest smile. It felt strange to be around people like this—people who weren’t constantly living in fear or pain.
They reached the small boat, and as Zoro helped Luna step aboard, she glanced back at the life she was leaving behind. Buggy’s crew was still in chaos, and the port town was growing smaller in the distance. She felt a strange mixture of fear and hope stirring inside her.
Luffy jumped onto the ship with a loud laugh, already moving to set sail. “Alright! Let’s get going!”
As they sailed away from the wreckage of her old life, Luna sat quietly, her hands resting in her lap. The wind brushed through her hair, carrying with it a sense of freedom she hadn’t felt in years.
Maybe she didn’t have a dream yet. But for the first time in a long time, Luna felt like she was allowed to imagine what that might feel like.

MONKEY D LUFFY
You both were making jokes and laughing while you were looking around the Island for the last time before you all hit the waves.
Luffy stopped at every single food shop and took food from there, while you paid for the food he got. Well you weren’t complaining. You loved to take care of him because he was your lovely innocent captain and also your lover.
Suddenly everyone stopped whatever they were doing because of a loud Gunshot. Luffy and you looked in the direction of the gunshot. It seemed that a celestial dragon came to this place. There was a big person who was walking on all fours and had huge chains around his neck and hands. He was… a slave. Like once you were.
Seeing this you started sweating and your heart beat increased. You knew how terrible that situation is. You slowly looked up and saw a man with snot nose and black curly hair.
Your eyes widened in surprise as you saw the celestial dragon. He… he was the one who made you tremble with fear. He was the one who made you think Death would’ve been peaceful than to live under his foot.
You remembered how he had kicked you repeatedly and how he had thrown his hot coffee on your bare skin just because he wanted to know how hot the coffee was.
Your eyes started to water and you hid behind Luffy, clutching the back of his shirt. He hugged you back with one of his hand but didn’t look at you.
He noticed how you shivered with fear. He heard you sob but didn’t ask what had happened. He knew about how you were once a slave. Only he knew.
Meanwhile the rest of the straw hats came to the place from where ever they were because they heard the gun shot and were worried if something had happened to you two.
Nami and Chopper asked why you were crying. Then the celestial dragon started to slowly move in the direction of where you all were still on top of his slave. He was not yet close to where you were at but the sole presence of that jerk was enough to break your emotions.
Luffy soothingly rubbed on your back and now turned to face you. You looked at him with tears in your eyes and whispered, “That’s him”, so softly only for your boyfriend to hear. He gently wiped your tears and placed his straw hat on your head. You then saw how Luffy walked ahead with Sanji and Zoro behind him. You stopped crying as you looked at your captain with hope in your eyes.
He went to the Celestial Dragon and beat marines surrounding the celestial dragon and punched the Celestial Dragon’s face and made that jerk to taste the dirt. You are sure he broke his ribs. You stopped trembling and smiled as Luffy turned around and gave you his classic smile. Luffy doesn’t fail to make you smile.
Luffy stretched his arms and flew towards you with Zoro and Sanji dangling in his other hand. You knew what was happening and you jumped as you wrapped your arms around his neck. You held him tight as he proceeded to fly towards Sunny with the rest of the crew still dangling on his arms.
He was already your prince but now he was your whole world, your reason to smile, your Pirate King and… your One Piece.
RORONOA ZORO
Zoro got lost in the middle of your date and you were trying to find him. You suggested to go on a date on the last day and he got lost.
You were still looking for him as you heard an announcement. Your ears perked up as you started to listen to it.
The island announced that a celestial Dragon was going to reach the island soon. Everyone was warned to be on good behaviour and not come in the way of Celestial Dragon in order not to die.
You were shaking like a leaf. Your breathing became faster along with your heart rate. You were sweating. You tried to breathe as air wouldn’t enter your lungs.
You didn’t want to look weak so you hid how you were once a slave but escaped with some others one day on an island. You hugged yourself and tried to breathe. You knew your past was always haunting you. You knew Zoro was waiting for you to tell him but chose not to.
Then you saw from a distance, a big ship had stopped on the port. You weren’t very close to them but could see them.
You slowly looked up. You saw the man with grey hair and big beard, sitting on top of a slave. You saw how the slave crawled down the ship with that jerk on top of his back.
That man… he tortured you. He lit his cigar and with it, he burnt the skin on your shoulder just to make you scream in pain. Once you screamed he’d use that reason to beat you up and not give you food for days. Oh how he smiled when you cried with pain. He enjoyed to make you suffer as you were his new slave. You remember how Zoro frowned after seeing your scars every time he looked at them. Chopper cried when he treated them, but you just lied whenever they asked about your scars. Of course Zoro didn’t believe them because he knew you weren’t ready to tell him. So he chose to wait.
You froze in place. In your head you screamed. You knew you should run away. But you couldn’t. Tears wouldn’t stop flowing from your eyes.
“Zo..ro”, was the only word you managed to say as you shivered. Suddenly you felt two strong arms pull you back to a hard chest. As soon as he hugged you, your knees became weak as you trembled. He caught you and wiped your tears soothingly. He asked you what had happened but you couldn’t speak. Instead you pointed towards the Celestial dragon.
After hearing the announcement, Zoro actually had a plan of getting you then running to ship with everyone and getting away. But after seeing you in such a state, his mind changed. He exactly knew what to do. Meanwhile you see Robin chan and chopper running towards you two in order to leave the island quickly. Their hearts broke as they saw you weeping as you held Zoro tightly.
Robin chan hugged you as Zoro placed his hand on his swords and ran towards the Celestial dragon. He beat all the marines around and charged front. Then you saw Luffy attacking with Sanji by his side. Zoro sliced off the clothes of the celestial dragon and scarred his torso.
“You can’t get away after hurting my lover”, he glared at the celestial dragon. Then the monster trio ran towards our direction.
“LET’S SAIL QUICKLY”, Luffy shouted. Zoro came running towards you and picked you up with ease as he ran towards Sunny. You threw your arms around his neck and you wrapped your legs around his waist.
You hugged Zoro and inhaled his scent. He smelled like wood and leaves. That must be because of him getting lost in the woods. Well you knew you had to thank your crew for doing this for you. For now you just closed your eyes and held onto your boyfriend tightly. He was your love, your man, your marimo and the one person you'd love to call... your precious prince.
BLACK LEG SANJI
You and Sanji walked around the small island before you again continued your journey. You both heard a loud noise which sounded like a horn. You looked at the place from where the sound was coming and saw that it was a ship of Celestial Dragon.
The celestial dragon had brown hair and had a small beard. His snot was visible to everyone. He was sitting on a person who was bleeding from his head. He wasn’t even treated. He looked very injured.
You could recognise that celestial dragon. He was the one who tortured you by beating you with rods to make you scream in pain. He made you to work all day long without mercy. He made you to scream and then hit you for screaming.
Without mercy he sat on top of you while you carried him, then kicked you in the stomach because you fell to ground as you couldn’t carry him.
He loved to harass you and all the other slaves. His evil grin spread wide whenever you collapsed to the floor because you couldn’t even stand anymore. Now he had another reason to beat you up. Once you knocked out while you carried him. He kicked you but you didn’t respond. So he thought you were dead and made his men to throw you in the boat of dead bodies of slaves. But you were still alive. When you woke up you immediately threw up into the ocean. The bodies of the slaves were horrible because of their condition and how beaten up they were.
You cried for them and also… you also cried with happiness that you weren’t with him anymore. You felt sorry for the bodies of slaves. But the feeling of dead bodies round you didn’t disgust you because the celestial dragons were the most disgusting of all. You were happy to even be alive and escape that hell.
You hid behind Sanji as you gasped for air. You were having trouble breathing. Your surroundings became very uncomfortable. Your heartbeat was raising quickly as you looked at the celestial dragon. You were getting a panic attack. He hugged you as you held onto him tightly.
Sanji didn’t ask you anything. He didn’t knew you past nor did he want to pressure you. He respects if a person choses to not talk about their past. He never saw you so scared. He soothingly rubbed your back. Sanji was your home and straw hats were your nakama. You slowly admitted that you were his slave and he tortured and harassed you, so you were scared of him.
He wiped your tears as he told you to just stay back and watch as he lit his cigarette and went towards that jerk who made you cry. He kicked everyone with ease and wiped out everyone. Then came Luffy and Zoro as they joined the fight. Chopper and Nami hugged you as you returned their embrace. Sanji kicked the Celestial dragon in face and broke his neck.
Everyone started to run towards Sunny and with one swift motion Sanji jumped in front of you and picked you up like a princess. Then he did his Sky walk while he still held you in his arms. You always go crazy whenever he does that. To light up your mood he always picks you up like you don’t weigh anything and sky walk on top of that whenever you feel sad.
This time… it was different…. You fell in love again. Tears streamed down your cheek as you hugged him tightly with your head in the crook of his neck. He smelled like shampoo, perfume, spices and nicotine. He was your prince, your dream, your knight and your All Blue.
TRAFALGAR D WATER LAW
Just like usual, before leaving the island, you and your captain were stocking up on medicines and medicinal books. It was like shopping date. You never get bored with this because it’s your special moment together.
You both go and pay for it and exit the shop. Penguin came to you and took your bags as he went to the submarine. That was so sweet.
You and Law both slowly walked towards the port hand in hand as you talked. Law rarely shows PDA and this was one of the days he at least holds your hand in public. Suddenly there was a loud scream and you two ran towards it. There you saw a celestial dragon was beating up her slave.
Law looked at you and saw you were completely pale. Your eyes were wide open. Your limbs trembled and you went behind law and stayed there. You gripped his shirt tightly and covered your mouth with your other hand. You were crying but didn’t want to make any sound but still Law could hear your sobs and his heart dropped.
Law didn’t knew why you were crying. But being the clever man he was understood that you were getting scared because of the… celestial Dragon. Then it came to him. The scars on your back and legs. He always knew they weren’t from a battle like you always said.
Now that he knew... oh boy he was furious. Bepo soon came towards you two. Law made sure you were with Bepo and he slowly went towards the celestial dragon. Not even a second later he freed the slaves in a swift motion and made them to teleport. The chains exploded and created a smoke screen. Then he wiped out all the soldiers and guards in the way and in one instant he got a heart in his hands. Due to the heavy smoke no one could even see where he was and who he was.
With the heart Law ran towards you. He gave you the heart as he picked you up and ran with Bepo on his side towards the submarine. You had that awful woman’s heart with you now. In your hands.
That horrible woman pulled your hair harshly and used to beat you. You were her new toy, which meant you were the new person who they enjoyed to break. As you could scream and cry for help she watched with happiness in her eyes as she burned the skin on your legs and back. Without mercy she used to burn the same the same place even when it wasn’t healed completely.
You had another slave friend with whom you escaped but… in the end, that celestial dragon, shot your friend. As you both escaped. You ran… you ran with tears in your eyes as your friend screamed for freedom. You knew that meant for your freedom especially. You still had horrible nightmares because of the trauma. You still could clearly hear the screams of the slaves who begged for their lives but got killed in a terrible way in her hands. You still have the heart in your hand… you could choose…. Life or death for that horrible person.
You look at law and smiled with happiness as you let your tears fall. You were so happy to be a member of the heart pirates. And mostly… a person beloved to Law. You were lucky to have Law as your captain, your saviour, your boyfriend and your Pirate King.
THE END
Like, comment and Reblog!
what would you do if you had the heart of the celestial dragon?
Tell me in the comments below!
i hope you liked them. I made the celestial dragon a female in Law’s scenario because there are female celestial dragons who are also the same the men. i just wanted to do something different for his scenario.
also i may not be active on tumblr because of exams so please forgive me everyone and Yui chwan~

note : this seems like one of those emergency requests I’ve seen, so I wanted this out quickly but never got around to it :(
Warning : triggering scenes, harmful / harsh wording, etc.
Law, Shanks + Crocodile » Here!
-
Ace
Raging flames.
That is all that can be seen when a bystander passes the three of you in the streets on an island.
Ace is standing in front of you, keeping you behind him in a protective stance as his jaw and fists are clenched tightly, flames erupting from his body.
And the unconscious body of your ex lying down on the floor.
-
You and Ace were just exploring a new island the Whitebeard Pirates docked at, Marco picking up some medical supplies and a few others just seeing what they could find.
The two of you strayed off and stuck with each other to go sight-seeing, and unfortunately..
This happened to be the same island your ex lives.
And so when you two are walking and you hear an all too familiar voice, your blood runs cold.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t little [Name]. Come back for more?”
Ace would be so confused and just glances back at the male who walks up behind you. “Do you know this guy, [Name]?”
“Who’s this? Your new boyfriend? Doesn’t look all that great to me.”
You bite down on your tongue to prevent yourself from saying anything but Ace can immediately sense something is wrong when he feels your grip on his hand tightening.
“Cat got your tongue? I bet you are speechless. You must be thinking to yourself, how you could go after some worthless guy like him and perhaps come back to me, begging me to take you back.” The condescending laugh is heard as he smirks at you.
Ace’s sharp glare is immediately sent to your ex and flames are slowly building with each passing second.
“If you do beg me, I may or may not consider it. It depends on how low you go down on your knees for me. But then again, I might have to reject you just so I can admire your horrendous face full of fear and sadness as you wallow in regret for—“
You were too busy looking down and feeling yourself shrink at his words to even notice Ace had pulled away from you.
And at a distance he stood, towering over your ex with pure hatred and anger burning in his eyes, with his fist in flames.
“Shut up. If you ever even look in [Name]’s direction again, I won’t hesitate to burn you to hell.”
Anger quickly subsided as Ace turns from the unconscious male and faces you with pure worry and concern.
“Hey, are you okay?”
All you could do was stare in shock, unable to process anything that happened as Ace takes your hands in his and brings it to his face.
“Don’t listen to a word he said, okay? Come on. Let’s go get some ice cream before heading back to the ship.”
-
Mihawk
“[Name]? What the hell are you doing here?”
The all too familiar voice makes your eyes widen out of its sockets, stopping you in your tracks from wandering the halls of Mariejois.
Turning back to face the one you least expected and absolutely dreaded most, color drained from your face when you finally came face to face to your ex.
“[Ex Name].. I didn’t realize you’re stationed here.. how are the other marines?” You try to make some light conversation but just wanted to eagerly run away.
The male only scoffs and rolls his eyes. “Better now that you’re gone, I’ll admit. Now why the hell are you here?”
“Actually..-“
“And why is that any of your business?”
Hearing the new voice cut in, your ex scoffs and turns to face the owner before his eyes widens.
“A warlord?! What are you doing out here? Whatever! Just get out of here, you pirate! This doesn’t concern you!”
Mihawk exhales quietly in disappointment, clearly becoming annoyed at the male’s loud and head-aching yells.
Making his way over to you, Mihawk gently grabs your hands in his. “Is this man bothering you, mi amor?”
Glancing to the shocked expression of your ex, you have a shy nod. “H-He’s my ex..” you mumble out, rubbing the back of your head as you grasp his hand tightly.
“I see.” Mihawk nods in understanding before closing his eyes and turned to face the marine, who was recovering from shock.
“Y-You?! Dating her?” He let out a dramatic scoff. “Of course you’d go after a pirate. It’s such a disappointment to see you stray from the Navy, [Name]. But whatever, you’re just— AGH!”
“That’s enough out of you now.”
Wielding his smallest sword, the mini cross that hung around his neck in a necklace, Mihawk gave one slice into the air before the loud cry of pain was heard.
Staring down at the fallen marine, he looks unimpressed at the lack of strength shown and how easily the marine fell from just a measly swing of his arm.
“Don’t you ever dare to utter a word or mind a thought about my [Name]. Otherwise I’ll have you buried six feet underground. Is that understood?”
Slipping his cross back together into his necklace, he turns over to your with his lips in a firm line but his expression softened in the slightest.
“Let’s go, my dear. We’re done here.”
Bringing his hand to the dip of your back, he began to guide you out of the large palace to head back to his castle and perhaps enjoy a nice evening together with some wine.
-
Zoro
Zoro may not be the smartest, but he certainly picks up on certain behavioral cues, especially yours after having been together for so long.
So when the Sunny is sailing the seas and come across another pirate ship, which causes Luffy to seek after them to converse and greet them.
At first, everything’s alright, the Pirates were somewhat friendly like the Straw Hats, until the Captain goes to board the Straw Hat ship, to personally greet each member.
But when the captain goes by you, his kind smile is immediately dropped to one of a frown of distaste. “[Name].”
You couldn’t even express how you felt. Shock? Misery? Pain? Disbelief? Were you usually this unlucky to have to come across your ex like this? How could you not recognize the Jolly Roger of the ship?
His next words seem to snap you back from your thoughts. “Blanking and zoning out once again. I see you haven’t changed much, [Name].” He tuts, shaking his head and turns away dramatically.
“It’s a shame you can never grow. Still the same old, same old. It’s truly a shame.”
Biting your lip, you look away and took a step back, ignoring him as the others watch with confusion.
“Eh? How do you know this guy, [Name]?” Nami asks, tilting her head.
Zoro, who was resting against the mast and listening to everything, opens his eye to glance at you. He clearly noticed your discomfort and pained expression, but withheld from doing anything.
His eyes only drifted to the cause of your discomfort.
The others weren’t too sure how to react, only sensing that something happened between the two of you. With the tension in the air, even Luffy could tell.
It wasn’t until his next words that something in them all snapped.
“Honestly, you’re better off having just stayed in your pathetic lonely life at your small island. This pirate life is not meant for you. After all,”
Eyes boring right into your soul, his stare pierced your body and his words pierced your heart.
“No one wants a pathetic and useless weakling around, right?”
Mere seconds later, the Captain, your ex, was knocked right into the railing of the ship, successfully denting the wood and breaking the pieces off with the amount of force brought into the impact.
Your ex was laying there, shifting in and out of consciousness and blood dripped from cuts over his body.
Zoro, with a hand gripping Shusui, was standing in front of the crew, no one even flinched at the movement but you. Your eyes were widened in shock, unable to say a word.
“I’ll have you know, [Name] is nothing like that. She’s grown, a hundred times stronger than you and I will make sure to kick your ass if I ever hear her name come out of your lips again.”
The other straw hats were all watching with heavy glares piercing the opposing pirate ship and specifically the Captain, each member getting ready to attack as needed.
“Get the hell off my ship, now.” Luffy demands, his voice cold, quiet and the most intimidating stare that would even make an Emperor tremble.
It didn’t take long for the opposing crew to pick up their captain and flee in a panic, especially when Luffy cracked his knuckles.
Releasing a small breath of relief you didn’t even know you were holding, you felt someone dragging you away from the deck and the crew, and you look up to find Zoro.
Finding that he was pulling you to the bedroom, he forces you over to the bed and then pulls you on top of him when he laid down.
“Just sleep with me. Forget everything he said and everything that happened.”
-
A/N : I hope you liked this, and I apologize you have to deal with that. So sorry this took so long.
I might allow emergency requests, it depends, I’ve never seen too much of it. I hope everything’s okay though.

Barrels, Bets and Balls
pairing: Zoro x Drunk!Reader
word count: 1.9k
summary: The Straw hats are presented with millenary rum from an Ancient Giant Tribe and, well, no one is giving you that anymore.
higlight: ¨And then you said ¨maybe I should wear your underwear.¨
warning: Don´t read and drive.
notes: HOLD MY BEER! Hi, guys! This was a lovely request from @roronoatrash for a drunk s/o! I have to say this is my first time writing a drunk character so I´m a bit nervous hahaha I really really hope you like it! Have fun and drink responsibly! <3 @vemuabhi
𝕷𝖊𝖆𝖛𝖊 𝖈𝖔𝖒𝖒𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖘, 𝖗𝖊𝖖𝖚𝖊𝖘𝖙𝖘, 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖑𝖔𝖛𝖊!
¨Agh!¨ you mumbled when you tried to lift your head from the pillow. It felt like the Thousand Sunny had run over you a thousand times.
¨Hm?¨
¨Regret ... mhbeh ... thing...¨ your mouth was so dry that talking became almost impossible.
¨What´s that?¨ Zoro asked, definitely amused by your deplorable state.
¨Hmmm... I don´t... regret... anything.¨
¨Of course you don´t. You don´t remember anything.¨ he shifted on the bed, making it look like a black hole was opening in the mattress. ¨Here, take this.¨ He handed you something.
¨I don´t need your pity... ma-marimo.¨
¨This is not pity, Y/N. This is a painkiller. Come on, you´re gonna feel better.¨
When he helped you to sit on the bed, you noticed something stuck to the window, preventing the sun from entering and blinding you. The greenette removed a few locks of hair that laid plastered across your face before helping you with the herculean task of taking the pill.
¨If the stupid cook is not dead he must have made coffee.¨ he stood up, grabbing your slippers and placing them in front of you.
In the meantime, your mind tried to gather whatever useful information you had to understand what had happened, but everything was a void blank.
¨You ok?¨ he asked, hand on the doorknob. ¨Do you want me to bring it to you?¨
¨No, it´s ok...¨ you pinched the bridge of your nose, making one last effort to remember at least a crumb of the previous hours. You were fast to give up, though. ¨What happened?¨
¨Uhhh, you got drunk and passed out.¨ he said like it was no big deal.
¨Hmm, ok...¨ you took a few seconds to digest his words ¨but when you say ´you´ you mean ´you me´ or ´you guys´?¨
A chuckle left his mouth ¨Come and you´ll see.¨
The sun shone high in the sky, forcing you to wince back into your room like the time you had your shadow stolen. You stumbled and lowered yourself to the floor, crawling away from the light.
¨You go!¨ you said dramatically, covering your eyes ¨Run away and leave me! Tell everyone... that I fought until the last moment!¨
Zoro scoffed at your poorly performed scene, walking closer to you and squatting, back turned to you. ¨Hop, soldier. We don´t leave nakamas behind, right?¨
Your cheeks reddened with his gesture, and you hid your hungover smitten smile on the crook of his neck. ¨Hold tight, Y//N.¨
Oh, I will. Ouch, my head!
As soon as you reached the main deck, your eyes widened, ignoring the bright sun, and your mouth fell in a perfect O.
¨Oh my freaking... what happened here?¨
If it weren't for the countless barrels, you would have easily thought that you had been chewed up by a sea king.
The Straw Hats were scattered across the deck, mixed with garbage, blankets, and rolls of toilet paper. Their unorthodox positions would definitely grant them a stiff neck.
Zoro carried you to the kitchen where you found Usopp and Chopper talking at the kitchen table.
¨... like I fasted in a desert for forty nights, and then I survived... a buster call. And like... all of the battleships were pointed at me. And I was catching fire before that.¨ you heard Usopp whine to the doctor, who wrapped some bandages on him.
¨Oi, who made coffee?¨ Zoro asked purposely loud.
¨SHHHH!¨ you and the sniper hissed at him.
¨Sanji did.¨ Chopper answered ¨Oh, Y/N, how are you feeling?¨
¨Like my heart is beating in my head.¨
¨At least there´s a heartbeat.¨ the swordsman replied, putting you close to a chair so you could take a seat. ¨Hm, Chopper, I saw the cook dead outside.¨
¨Yeah, he made coffee and then passed out again.¨ Chopper discreetly pointed at Usopp´s bandages.
¨He passed out and spilled hot coffee on me!¨ he roared, stopping midway to whine.
¨But you two look pretty good, though.¨ You referred to Chopper and Zoro.
Not Usopp, definitely not Usopp.
¨Night watch. I didn´t drink last night.¨ the doctor sighed, relieved.
¨And I can handle my alcohol.¨ the greenette bragged, placing a steaming cup of coffee in front of you.
¨What happened anyway?¨
¨Oh! You don´t remember too, Y/N? That millenary rum was really strong!¨ Chopper asked, fascinated by the effects of the beverage.
¨Millenary rum?¨
¨Yeah! It was a gift from an Ancient Giant Tribe!¨
¨Giant tribe?¨ you kept repeating every word he said, double-checking to see if you were not hearing things.
¨Y/N, what´s the last thing you remember?¨
¨Hmm, let me see...¨ you rested your elbows on the table, hands covering your eyes. Wow, even thinking hurts.
<~>
¨I swear to God, Tony! When Luffy falls into the water, you can not jump after him!¨ you yelled, panting from climbing back to the ship and soaking wet of salty water.
He pouted and whined. You only called him ¨Tony¨ when you were upset with him.
¨So-Sorry Y/N... AaaAgh...¨ his voice trembled, and you couldn´t help but soften a little.
¨Ugh, forget it.¨ you laid down on the grass and sighed, the reindeer on your belly ¨Are you alright, Chopper?¨
¨Y-Yeah...¨
Zoro emerged a few seconds later, carrying Luffy on his shoulder.
You had engaged in a fight against some bandits who were causing trouble on an island called Gran Brabados. From what you could understand, they were descendants of the Ancient Giant Tribe who emancipated from Elbaf after years of conflict.
¨I don´t wanna be rude, but¨ Usopp spoke to one of them ¨I thought giants were warriors. Like Broggy and Dory. Those guys fought for over 100 years!¨
¨Well, most of us are, but some are not. That's why we left Elbaf.¨ the giant said ¨We're not interested in war, we're interested in rum!¨
All of you stopped for a second, wondering if you heard the same thing.
¨Eh?¨ you spoke.
¨We don´t make war! We make rum!¨ he threw his huge hands in the air, chest puffing out of pride.
¨Oi, really? Give us some!¨ Zoro immediately threw Luffy on the floor and ran towards the giant. Next thing you knew, the giant burst into laughter.
¨Gabababa!¨ he hunched as he laughed ¨Sorry, but tiny people like you can't handle it! Gababababa!¨
You were not sure what offended you the most, he calling you all, who just saved their asses, weak or having to dodge the huge drops of saliva that came out of his mouth.
After insisting a lot, he ended up giving in, presenting the straw hats with barrels and barrels of millenary rum. Yeah, millenary. Rum distilled for one thousand years, or at least that is what he said.
The celebration didn´t take long to begin. Because Luffy had decided to set sail that same day, you would all be bathed with a pleasant sunset as you partied.
¨Wow!¨ you shouted after chugging the first tankard. ¨Oooohh, this is good booze!¨ you shook your head, already feeling the kick.
¨Girl, you should go easy on this. It´s super strong.¨ Franky said, making you scoff at him, possessed by some waspish Viking demon.
¨And here I thought you were hard-boiled.¨
¨What?¨
¨O-Oi, Y/N...¨ Usopp said, worried, sipping his drink.
¨Haven´t you learned anything with Tom-san?¨ you clicked your tongue ¨Meh, I guess I´ll be the one making things with a DON around here!¨ you chugged more of the rum.
The shipwright glared at you with a red beam coming out of his left eye. You remember questioning yourself for a second. Maybe you had said too much, but it was just for a brief second before you insulted someone else.
Back at the kitchen table, flashes of the events from the last night began to pop in your mind. Guilt and embarrassment gushed over you, making you twist and cringe.
¨And then you said ¨maybe I should wear your underwear.¨ Chopper shivered as he quoted your words.
¨Nooo...¨ you cried out.
¨It gets worse, Y/N.¨
¨What?! How?!¨
¨Because after that,¨ Zoro started to speak, and you saw him struggle to stop a smile from cracking. That was not a good sign. ¨you said "your balls are so small Robin could have grabbed them with one hand!¨
The men laughed and slapped the table as you looked for a place to bury your head or a knife to stab yourself in the heart.
¨WHY DIDN´T YOU STOP ME?¨ you yelled, pulling your boyfriend by the collar and shaking him.
He placed a hand on your forehead, a silly thing he did every time you got too nervous. ¨Oi, you´re a big girl. You know what you´re doing.¨
¨Noo, obviously I don´t!¨ He smiled.
He would not be the one to tell you, but he did have to stop Franky from Radical Beam-ing the hell out of you several times. For some reason, you were very keen on insulting the cyborg's masculinity.
Another thing he wouldn´t tell you was that he didn´t touch the rum in the last night. He decided to remain sober and look after you, making sure you would not kill someone or get yourself killed.
However, despite all the trouble you gave him, he recognized your strength. Straw hat after straw hat, you managed to defeat everyone in a stupid drinking contest.
The biggest achievement was to drag Luffy into the game since he dislikes the taste of alcohol. When he denied being part of it, you teased him by saying,¨I think you are just scared, Luffy. You know what, maybe I should be the Captain of this ship! Maybe, I will be the Pirate King!¨
That was about the sixth punch Zoro took for you. Or because of you.
The darker the night fell, the wilder you all got. And then insults began to come from every direction to every direction. You were arguing, then laughing, then crying and apologizing. If it wasn´t for Zoro, Chopper would have had a heart attack.
¨Nami, you thief! Give me back my queen, or I´ll be forced to shoot a Bidori Moshi at you!¨ Usopp yelled, holding a bunch of cards in his hands.
¨Oi, Usopp! How dare you speak with a lady like that?! I´ll kick you in the face!¨
¨Bring it on, Sanji! I eat eggplants like you for breakfast every day! AND IT´S GOD USOPP FOR YOU!¨
¨Zoro...¨ Chopper cried, falling close to where the swordsman was sitting. ¨W-What are we going to do?¨
¨Uh? Ah, sit back and relax. You know these guys, they are ju-¨
¨Y/N-san, may I see your panties?¨
¨Well, too bad for you I´m not weari-¨
¨OI! Y/N!¨ Zoro dashed over, throwing you on his shoulder.
That was about the first punch Brook took for you. Or, again, because of you.
And then, as the number of biological hazards began to decline, managing the situation became easier and easier. Chopper took care of the fallen drunken, and Zoro threw blankets over them.
In the end, it was you and Luffy. You were still arguing about the things you said earlier. Both of you were exhausted but didn´t want to give in. The argument only ended when you withdrew your words, saying that he would be the one to become King of the Pirates.
Luffy fell dead asleep immediately, and Zoro took the cue to approach you. ¨Hey, Y/N. Our time, let´s go?¨
You turned to him and nodded, red cheeks and tired eyes. He had to scoop you up and carry you back to your room since your legs were not part of the equation anymore, and you would let go and fall every time he tried to carry you on his back.
¨Heeey, you´re not drunk!¨ you whined, almost falling asleep. ¨Why aren´t you drunk?¨
¨Cause you drank everything.¨
¨Noo, I can find s´more.¨ you uncovered yourself, trying to get out of bed.
¨I bet you can.¨ he said, covering you again and pulling you closer.
The warmth of his body, altogether with his hand gently rubbing your back, made your system shut down.
¨You know... I can kick your ass... in a drinking contest...¨
¨Yeah,¨ he chuckled ¨I bet you can.¨
That was definitely not true, but for you, well, for you he could pretend it was.

Shanks/Usopp/Ace x abusive reader.s/o
Warning: Kissing, abuse, Nyctophobia, claustrophobia, sexual abuse, little nsfw!
Thanks for the request Omega-ish
Hope you enjoy❤
Portgas D. Shanks 🍺
🍺The Four Emperors are the four most dangerous and powerful pirate captains in the world.
🍺And yes Shanks is one of them, and on top of that his a alpha.
🍺His a strong, passionate and brave man.
🍺Just by looks others might get the wrong idea thinking his cocky high ego and rude
🍺And you'd think a man like that only bat an eye for the most high class omegas, only to get in their pants.
🍺Buttttt!!!! NO
🍺Shanks is none of that, his a free spirit loving childlike man, Shanks is an extremely laid-back, preferring to take his time he doesn't rush things
🍺The first time he met his s/o...
🍺You sorta snuck on board his ship, it didn't take long for one of the crew to surprisingly find you.
🍺At first you didn't talk to him nor look him in his eyes, for your own sake you were too scared.
🍺So he let you be
🍺But couldn't ignored the way you looked, torn clothes, dirty skin, bruised and heavily scarred skin, messy hair and life drained eyes.
🍺It made him sick to the core. Just by looking at you he knew you went through horrible things
🍺He doesn't dare speak up, he doesn't want to remind you of those horrible things.
🍺As time went on
🍺Multiple times a day he goes below deck giving you something to eat and drink, than chat your ears off.
🍺He'd tell you about his many adventures, all the islands he been too how he met each of his crew, he even dig out the most personal things like how he lost his arm and how he got the three scars over his eye. With many more stories.
🍺It made you happy hearing them all feeling free with this red hair man, he made you smile laugh talk and sead tears of happiness, since you met him
🍺He even gave you a name. A place to belong and protected you, he thought you how to defend yourself and be badass. You learned how to read, write, cooking much much more
🍺He became your Alpha and claimed you as his omega, forming a strong bond connecting your hearts and souls forever.
🍺It made you glad that you snuck aboard his ship.
🍺Dispense having a new life living it to the fullest. Your heart is still scarred.
🍺Your fear came to life again when The Red Force docked at the same island you escaped from the first time you snuck on Shanks ship.
🍺Your alpha is the first to know your distress.
🍺But you chose to lie and tell him your okay, even though he didn't believe you he still You made sure to stuck to his side 24/7.
🍺It made him happy that you seek comfort from him but also placed him on high alert.
🍺Yes Shanks knows why you don't wanna be here and he makes sure this is only a quick restock in and out.
🍺Not staying for a drink or party.
🍺It was hard for you too open up to him but he was sure to listen to every word that left your mouth.
🍺(Any person of your choice) they where horrible people, using omegas for slavery abusing them to the breaking point, once brought the omega can be used for anything of the owners choice.
🍺All the torture and pain you felt locked up in a cage days ends night ends.
🍺It made Shanks furious and angry, but he knows that he couldn't do anything what has been done can't be un done
🍺All he could do is comfort you, purr in your ear brushing away your tears.
🍺From then you knew he'd always be yours heart body and soul
🍺Give you anything.
🍺And everything.
🍺But the tables turned quickly when you and him ran into (Any person of your choice) the person who abused Shanks omega for years.
🍺In anger (Any person of your choice) tried to lure you back to them, while you quiver behind Shanks hiding in his cape, he could feel your smaller from trembling pressing your face in his thoracic spine and hands gripping his shirt.
🍺He could smell the change in your scent it wasn't sweet or loving anymore it was replaced with (Displeased smell of your choice), it made his inner alpha very protective of you.
🍺Now Shanks isn't the kind of man that would turn to violence and rudeness in this kind of situations.
🍺At was at this point the guy came near you two wanting to rip you off your alpha, but didn't go to well for him when Shanks Haoshoku Haki hit him, (Any person of your choice) drop to the ground knocked out.
🍺it was no surprise that Shanks s/o wasn't affected, they're strong but there are some fears that can leave a person trembling and hopeless
🍺But none less Shanks will protect his omega. Even if you cower in fear.
***
Usopp (Sniper King)🏹
🏹Personally you hate alphas, and because of that Luffy had a hard time getting you to join his crew, 90% of the crew is alpha's
🏹But you joined anyway
🏹When Usopp first met his s/o he like any other saw you pretty strong confidence and level headed, but being a great liar like himself he could see the fake smile
🏹He decided to just stay out of it. But he couldn't help but wanting to get closer to you, get to know you and enjoy time with you
🏹First of all you really like Usopp ever since you step foot on Marry, he was funny goofy and outspoken brave
🏹And you like him so much that you'd even back him up in a fight, he's a real cute beta
🏹Yes, you read that right... Usopp s/o thought that he was a beta, he doesn't necessarily act like an alpha he has no confidence high pride or cocky ego.
🏹Blindly with the idea of him being a beta, made you grew closer to him, forming a great friendship making everlasting memories and moments
🏹At a point you confessed your feelings and he accepted them making you the happiest omega alive.
🏹It made him happy too
🏹But you two haven't mated/marked each other yet. It doesn't mean you haven't created a unbreakable bond
🏹But you also haven't told him about your childhood and what happened, not ready to dig out all the pain and suffering
🏹That was until you two got separated from the others trying to get back to the Thousand Sunny and crew
🏹Somehow you guys docked at the wrong island, with a flesh eating gigantic snake living on it.
🏹And Yes... it was currently chasing Usopp and his s/o though the forest.
🏹"Run run run! Its going to eat us!" Usopp cried dragging his s/o along with him running for thier lives
🏹Well you see the both of you would've easily beaten the crab out of the thing.. if ya didn't leave your weapons on the Sunny.
🏹Luckily for you, Usopp spotted a old mine tunnel in your path of crisis without thinking he rushed you two in.
🏹Now here's the thing-
🏹When Usopp's s/o where a child they where sold off to a group of mountain bandits and they didn't treat their "item" with care, they locked you up in a cage and tortured you for days whipping you breaking you down mentally and physically and on special days they shut you in a box and shove you into darkness
🏹You develop claustrophobia and Nyctophobia, which wasn't good you have been able to avoid them for long
🏹But in this situation it brought up both.
🏹The tunnel was blocked with a death end and you two took too many turns you couldn't see the daylights anymore along with the place being small for two people.
🏹The little light Usopp managed to make wasn't working well for you.
🏹Your breath became heavier the walls felt like their closing in, your heart beat filled your ears beating faster and faster, your body paralyzed your vision somehow became blurry.
🏹You were having a panic attack before you knew it.
🏹"(Y/n) babe. What's wrong?" Usopp caught on real quick smelling the change in your scent and hearing soft whimpers leave your lips as tears stream down your face.
🏹It made the alpha in him click taking control, crouching down in front of you taking your hands into his
🏹His scent reaching you for the first time it was so strong and powerful the purr from him calmed your body and mind.
🏹His alpha reaching out for your omega the first time ever, you saw the thing you hate with passion and Usopp was one of them
🏹But different you knew him for a long time and shared so much with him, his nothing like them he genuinely loved care protect you without expecting anything in return.
🏹Calming you and scenting you the best of his ability.
🏹Not thinking at all you told him in a broken voice with tears about your phobias and the abuse you suffered as a child.
🏹Opening up your most venerable side.
🏹He truly felt connected to you finally broke your walls, without trying.
🏹He continue to comfort you telling you silly stories and making you giggle here and there.
🏹While you both waited for the others to find you, it didn't take long
🏹That night he made sure to claim you as his, marking you and all promise to protect you and help you overcome your fears
🏹He even accepted you as you are.

Portgas D. Ace🔥
🔥Ace met you when he joined Whitebeard, that's when he became attached to you.
🔥Wherever you go he goes, his always by your side, if he or you don't have a mission that is.
🔥Truthfully Ace doesn't know much about your pass and that doesn't bother him, but your still not a very open person.
🔥At least he knows little things about he was able to pick up on the way like how your strong and brave, but also quite and patient how you are less social and older than him but looks hella young.
🔥But what catch his attention is all your scars they must have been from great battles but the most painful one is the one on your nape it looked as if skin was torn off leaving a nasty mark.
🔥But it was mostly covered by a shirt (or your hair if you have long hair).
🔥For you Ace is the sweetest and most honorable person you've met his cute and badass.

🔥It made your connection with the alpha much stronger without needing to say a word you two feel in love over the years
🔥Creating a very strong relationship and a loving one at that. You did hesitate to become his it gave you doubts and anxiety.
🔥But what you fear the most was mating with him you fear having to explain your scars near your private.
🔥Its all case of "him" that man what he did to you was no forgiving matter.
🔥That's till one night Ace and his s/o was in the perfect mood, bodies against one and other hands exploring your cloths covered flesh.
🔥He was about to unbuckle your pants which made you shot in defense pushing him away as he came crashing down the bed.
🔥At first he thought he did something wrong, seeing your face upset and pain expression.
🔥both sitting in silence, your scent increasing but with a smell to make sure Ace stayed away but his Alpha fought it wanting to be near you not leaving you in this state.
🔥He didn't made you say anything didn't ask anything just hugged you tightly to his chest rubbing your back.
🔥A long quite moment passed still in his arms you open your mouth begging him not to leave you. Tears sobbing hiccups and mumbling words left your lips
🔥"Calm down tell me what's wrong?" He kept his voice soft and purred more.
🔥"I-i use to b-be marr-married." Half a loath off your chest, it seemed Ace didn't care so what if you where married before your now here with him and your his that's all that mattered.
🔥But it all changed when you continued
🔥You were married once before. To a man you thought was truly your soul mate, you two where happy but it all shattered when you tried having children.
🔥You tried and tried and tried. But nothing.
🔥Slowly he started becoming less of the man you knew, he became rough and untenable during your "activities". He made you bleed and didn't stop when pleading for it he.
🔥He began using his alpha voice on you, scaring you. Breaking you down.
🔥Not long after he became a drunk, hitting cutting and sexually abusing you.
🔥You had enough tearing out his mark/bite, escaping his claws, but he chased after you, till you literally ran into Whitebeard, the pirate captain defended you, beat the living shit out of him, took you in treated you with respect and care.
🔥You became his daughter/son. You became one of the most strongest and feared pirate under Whitebeard. (And the old geezer is damn proud of you!)
🔥After hearing all that Ace accepted you even more, loving you with care as he continue to praise your body analyze ever curve, scar, soft squeezy place (Butt/Boobs😏) .
🔥Till he reached your private parts down below seeing the stretch marks and abusive places.
🔥He must've think its disgusting and not worth it anymore, just through you in the back. And be forgotten - That's what you thought.
🔥But instead he gave you a night you'd never forget, he was so gentle and considerate letting you take the lead. Along with marking you as his mate forever no regrets.
🔥lest just say, the following week you came on to some morning sickness, It was like destiny was telling you Ace is the only one no one else would work.
🔥Fire First Ace is your Alpha. And you his omega.

Here you go and I hope you Enjoy~
-----------
🦋 My Other Half 🦋
Pairing: Sanji x fem.Reader
Genere: Agnst /Fluff / One-Shot
Warnings: mention of blood
--------
Summary: in which the reader protects Sanji during a battle, ends being severly injured, and Sanji goes berserk.
--------
The weather was gloomy, the sky was filled with black clouds, the dust was spreading around as the sounds of the swords collides with each other echoes in the air.
Each one of your friends is preoccupied with their opponents who are standing infront of them as they dealed with their brutal strikes, You too, the enemies attacked you mercilessly, pointing their swords and aiming their punches at you, you managed to repel most of them, however, you were worried about your friends and especially your beloved Sanji who is facing one of the strongest three enemy's commanders with all courage.
Of course, You believed in his abilities and strength, but even so, your heart couldn't stop worrying about him, your eyes followed him whenever you had the opportunity to do so, aware enough that no one would attack him out of sudden. Others may say that you are exaggerating being overprotective over your boyfriend and you should worry about yourself instead rather than others, but seeing him on the verge of death after your last battle not long ago made your heart ache and clench, you wished many times that it wouldn't happen again. And as they say, True lovers think likewise, just as you tried to stay by his side to protect him, he was doing the same thing, he asked you many times to stay out of his range worried about you from the commander and the possibility of him harming you in any way. However, you didn't listen, at least when you're by his side, you can feel much at ease. He trusted your ability to take over other opponents, but if you were in danger, he would definitely be there for you.
Suddenly, his attention moved to something that distracted him from the commander standing against him, and that was because of Luffy falling near by as a result of the violent attack he got from his opponent, the Captain of these pirates and the strongest out of them, Sanji's eyes immediately moved to look at Luffy in concern, but then the commander in front of him used this to his own advantage and pointed out his sharp blade towards Sanji, you quickly paid attention to that, " Sanjiii!!! Careful!!!!" as you managed to jump infront of him last minute receiving the onslaught with your utmost power, which tored half of the front part of your body as your blood drops spreaded in the air.
You collapsed on the ground, unable to move, your limbs felt cold, you wanted to scream because of the pain that was spreading around your body, but your strengths feebled, now you are swimming in a pool of your own blood. You heard Sanji calling out your name with a melancholic voice, as if he's about to cry, despite your blurred vision, you were able to see his hands trembling as he looked at you with eyes almost coming out of its place unable to process what he's seeing right now. "(Y/N)...-ch..an.." said Sanji almost whispering, "It is wrong to let your guard off when you stand up against your opponents, Look how stupid she is... She gave up her life so easily and jumped infront to protect you from my sword" said the commander sarcastically. Sanji's grip clutched, his expressions darkened, he became berserk because of what this commander did to you, the flames started burning on his legs, he ruthlessly kicked each one interrupted his way to the commander, he was outraging as your soulless body's image pops in his head, it was less than few seconds, and the commander was sent to the other side of the battlefield unconscious due to Sanji's powerful and raged diable jump kick .
After kicking him away, Sanji dropped on his knees right beside you, he didn't cry, no he actually didn't realize that he was crying, the tears were rolling over his cheeks, he hold and brought you closer to his chest embracing you as his tear drops fell on your numb cheeks, you were able to hear his desperate voice that sounded far asking you to stay with him and you will be okay for sure, "(Y/N)-chan...its fine, you're going to be fine, I'm here, just look at me" he said desperately. Soon everyone gathered around your injured body, they were shocked yet anxious, started calling your name in frightened tone, but their voices faded slowly as the darkness invaded your eyes until you closed them obeying your body. Even though you were severely injured, but you weren't afraid, because you were in Sanji's warm arms and your nakama's surrounded you.
Everyone rushed to the ship, Sanji carried you in his arms who were pale and barely alive until you were brought to the sick bay, Chopper did everything to stop the bleeding and treat your injury, it was dangerous and threatened your life, after all, half of your body was torned. Because Chopper rushed to treat you immediately, he forgot to close the sick bay's door completely, your condition was outrageous, your pulse had stopped during the wound stitching, so Chopper immediately started reviving your heart, and there was Sanji, standing behind the door watching everything that happens to you, so he abruptly rushed inside to you screaming your name, "(Y/N)-CHAN!!!", But Zoro and Usopp were soon forced to pull him outside due to his sudden rage, " OI COOK!! CALM DOWN!! SHE WILL BE FINE" exclaimed Zoro at Sanji holding him from his neck tie, " That's right Sanji, (Y/N) is strong, she's going to be okay, just sit here, let's trust and wait for Chopper" said Usopp trying to calm him down. It wasn't just Sanji who got terrified from looking at you at the verge of death, the rest of your nakama's were as terrified as him.
A week later, you finally woke up, still unable to move comfortably but you managed to semi sit on the bed, As soon as Chopper announced that you're conscious, everyone rushed to your room including Sanji, as they chatted with you he stayed quite, really quite. Later when everyone finally left the you of two alone, he came closer and studied your features, then he placed his head on your lap, you were glad that he's fine without any injuries, your hands slowly approched his blonde hair but stopped on its track when you heared his silent sobs and gasps, " S..Sanji?.." his fingers clutched on your blanket, " Thank you..for not leaving me.... Thankyou for staying alive, don't do that again (Y/N)~chwan...I can't live without you". Soon tears formed in your eyes but you smiled and finally stroked his blonde locks he looked fine from the outside, but sure he's shattered internally, " My angle...I'm sorry for worrying you, you had a hard time didn't you? You know i can't leave you, i can't live without you either.. you're my other half, how can i leave my pure angel", you said comforting him as he raised his head and looked into your eyes, he leaned closer and gently kissed your lips and once again placed his head back on your lap immersed with your finger penetrating through his silky hair. Since your injury was quite a tough one, your body was still under the shock and you weren't able to to walk for a while, you were using a wheelchair to move around Sunny. Of course everyone gladly helped you especially Sanji, who did most of the things for you, he helped you in showering, he pushed your wheelchair, carried you if there were stairs ahead, and he took you on walks sometimes around Sunny's deck until you fully recovered. Eventually Sanji became X20 overprotective and clingy than he used to be (>ω<)

C-can I request some angst please? 🥺🙏🏻 Sanji, Law, and Zoro finding a severely injured girl drifting out at sea and they save them and eventually become their s/o scenario or headcanons please? 🤩✨ I love your angst!!!
(These got kind of specific as I tried to come up with something angsty, haha. The content warnings on this one are a really weird combo, just a heads-up)
CW: References to slavery (Sanji and Zoro’s), cannibalism (Zoro), and medical experimentation (Law). Nothing explicit, but I’m adding this just in case!
Sanji
The Thousand Sunny had come across the wreckage of a ship and from the smell of cannon smoke in the air, it had likely only happened a few hours or so at most. The ship that had attacked was nowhere to be found, and there were several bodies floating in the water.
Sanji had noticed that among the corpses floating in the water, there was one that seemed to be alive. A young woman was clinging to a piece of driftwood, and the top of her head was covered with blood; as she bobbed in the ocean, her head barely lifted up to look up at the ship in front of her. Immediately, Sanji dove into the water after her and yelled up to Chopper. “Chopper, one of them is alive! Here, once we’re up on deck, take her to the clinic!”
Sanji carried her to the clinic, not minding the blood and seawater that was staining his clothes. The woman’s eyes were glassy and unfocused, but she was still alive. Chopper examined her and cleaned her head wound. By some miracle, the only injury she had received during her ship’s destruction was a concussion.
Chopper set up a small cot for her in the clinic so he could watch her overnight. Sanji immediately volunteered to watch over her as well, and he and Chopper worked in shifts (Sanji would leave to cook meals for the crew, and Chopper would sleep whenever Sanji got back).
At one point during the night, the woman stirred and realized that she was in a strange place. Sanji reassured her that she was safe, and tried to ask her who she was (Chopper had mentioned that testing her memory and cognitive skills would be a good idea when she woke up). She struggled to recall her memories, saying that she could only see fuzzy bits and pieces. What she did remember made a pit of unease form in Sanji’s chest: Cold chains on her wrists and feet that were too tight, seeing a glowing piece of metal and watching in horror as it burned into her friend’s skin, screaming and pleading not to be branded, the pain of having her head slammed against a pillar, and the deafening sound of splintering wood as some monster in the water bit into the ship before she fell into the icy water.
Strangely enough, she didn’t have a brand on her body; the ship had been attacked just as she was about to be burned. Sanji felt an urge to wrap his arms around her and comfort her, but he worried that it might make her uncomfortable and scared given what she’d been through. He offered to make her something to eat instead, and she nodded. When he started to get up, the young woman grabbed his hand. “Could…Could you stay with me for a little bit longer?” Her voice broke as she squeezed his hand. “I don’t want to be alone.”
Sanji’s eyes temporarily turned into hearts at the sudden physical contact, but he quickly controlled himself. He smiled and sat on the foot of her bed, still holding her hand. “Of course, my lady; as long as I’m able to draw breath, you won’t ever be alone again.”
Sanji took every opportunity to treat ____ like a princess, serving her gourmet meals, escorting her around the ship and on different islands the ship arrived at, buying all sorts of gifts, decorating her bed with all sorts of flowers, etc. Every time he did something, he noticed how taken aback she was by the kind gesture and she would protest. “There’s no need to fuss over me,” she said with wide eyes, “This is just…so much!”
Sanji would always reply that someone like her deserved everything good in this world, and that he was actually disappointed that he could only give her a fraction of that with his meager abilities. She’d always be flustered by his kindness and chivalry, but she started to warm up to being treated so well. He’d always comfort her when she would start to recover another memory of her prior life; some of them were happy, some of them…weren’t. They were always overwhelming, and ____ would find herself feeling a sudden rush of strong emotions that made her heart and head feel like they were about to burst. But no matter what, Sanji was always there to hold her and bring her back to reality.
One night, he had brought her a piece of cake and a cup of her favorite type of tea to her room. The two of them chatted together, and when she finished she gently brushed her fingers on his cheek. “You know,” she remarked quietly, “Whatever my past was, sometimes I think it doesn’t matter.” Sanji raised an eyebrow; ____ had spent so much time contemplating what her life was life before, trying to put together the “missing pieces” as she called it. What changed? She smiled and kissed his cheek. “Because whatever it was, I’m glad that in the here-and-now…I’m with you.”
Zoro
Of all the things for a shipwrecked cargo vessel to be carrying, it had to be meat. Crates and crates of meat, refrigerated in specially-made crates, bobbing up and down in the water. As he watched the wreckage float on the water, Zoro thought that if the ship’s builder had spent more time reinforcing the actual ship instead of making some special meat-preserving crates, then maybe the entire crew wouldn’t have died like idiots. The logos on the crates were hand-painted: Miss Terry’s Butchery. “Our meat is to DIE for!”
His thoughts were interrupted when Luffy cannonballed over the side of the Sunny with stars in his eyes. “FREE MEEEEEEEEAT!” He landed in the water, and Zoro dove after him. “Oi, you can’t swim, idiot!”
Zoro managed to grab Luffy by the collar before he sank like a stone, and he noticed another person in the water with them clinging to one of the crates that was half-flooded and starting to sink. He grabbed them as well and hauled them both up onto the deck of the Sunny.
It was a young woman, and even though she had been submerged there were visible tearstains on her cheeks. As Chopper attended to her and Luffy, Zoro noticed a small brand burned onto her right arm: Prop. of MTB. Chopper gave her mouth-to-mouth, and she coughed up a bit of seawater as her eyes fluttered open. Immediately, she saw Zoro’s swords and screamed in terror as she tried to scramble away from him. “D-Don’t harvest me, please,” she sobbed, burying her face in her knees. “I’ll do anything, I’ll…” She looked up and saw that she wasn’t on the cargo ship anymore. “Where…where am I?”
Zoro cocked his head at what she had first said. “What do you mean, ‘harvest’?” The young woman looked at him suspiciously. “Look, your ship wrecked. Looks like you’re the only one who made it.” He pointed out to the ruins of the cargo ship, and she slowly rose up to look out over the side of the Sunny.
She stared at the boxes of meat, her eyes filling with tears. Her knuckles tightened as she gripped the railing, and she tried to take deep breaths. “So…I’m safe,” she breathed. “I’m not gonna be…” Her eyes drifted to the floating boxes of meat, and she trembled. Zoro stepped forward, worried that she might pass out and fall over the side of the ship.
Luffy pouted and crossed his arms. “Man, all that meat’s gonna go to waste if it sinks,” he whined. “Hmmm, maybe Sanji can get the seawater off the ones that are wet.” He cupped his hands and called out to Sanji. “Oi, Sanji, come out here! Can you cook–”
“NO!” The young woman cut him off sharply. “You…don’t, don’t eat that meat! It’s…” She absentmindedly touched the brand on her arm, and Zoro realized why she was so terrified.
Zoro awkwardly put a hand on her shoulder. “We won’t,” he promised. “You’re safe now, alright?” Luffy protested, asking why they couldn’t eat so much meat ripe for the taking, but Zoro cut him off with a glare.
The young woman spent the next few weeks with the crew, getting to know everyone but revealing little about what had happened to her on the ship. Zoro was the only one who didn’t ask questions about her (or, well…any questions really. He wasn’t much of a conversationalist), and so she preferred spending time with him. One night they were sharing a bottle of sake in the dining room, and Zoro asked why she always preferred being around him compared to everyone else in the crew.
“Honestly? I dunno,” she replied, her voice slurring a bit. “I mean, Nami and Usopp and the others are really kind, all of you have been…really kind.” She took another swig. “But you were the one who saved me that day. I’d been born and raised in the pens, and I wasn’t even treated like a person by the butchers.” She stared off. “I only learned to talk because the other livestock–um, people–taught me. Even though it was pointless, haha.” She sniffled a bit. “Even if you say ‘no, please,’ when it’s your time, the butchers ignore every word you say. It’s just easier to pretend you’re a cow mooing, or a chicken clucking. Not a person.” She looked over at Zoro. “You were the first person outside of the pens to treat me like a human being. You talked to me. You listened to me.” She leaned her head against him. “You saved me.”
Zoro stiffened at the sudden contact, and he awkwardly wondered if he should put his arm around her; from how she was leaning, his arm would be touching her brand. Still, he didn’t want her to think he was being intentionally callous by not doing anything to return her gesture of affection. He decided to just rest his hand on top of hers, and she leaned closer onto his shoulder. They both fell asleep together in the dining hall, and it was the first time in years that ____ slept without a single nightmare. Seemed like Zoro was her guardian even in her dreams.
Law
The Heart Pirates were out on open waters, headed towards the island of Punk Hazard when they came across the splintered ruins of another ship floating in the water. Oddly enough, it wasn’t a large ship at all; from how little wood there was in the water, it almost seemed like a one-person raft instead of a proper ship.
From how the wooden planks were charred at specific points, it seemed as though a flurry of lightning strikes had hit the ship during a particularly strong storm. The Heart Pirates had seen a few lightning strikes in the area a few minutes earlier, so they had gone underwater to avoid any potential hits to the ship. A young woman was slumped over on the largest piece of wood, shaking and trembling. The smell of nitrogen was sharp in the air, and it seemed like she could sink under the waves at any moment.
“Bepo, bring her up,” Law ordered. She was a stranger, but as a doctor he felt some obligation to treat her wounds. Besides, she might have information on this area of the New World and Punk Hazard specifically.
Bepo quickly swam out to grab her, and he and Law took her to the medical bay. The rest of the crew was surprised to see Law with a new patient, considering they were in the middle of nowhere. They knew better than to ask questions when someone needed treatment, so they did what they could to assist their captain.
She appeared to be in cardiac arrest from the lightning strike, and thankfully the crew had arrived when they did. After a few minutes of resuscitation, her heartbeat returned (though it was strangely erratic– quickening, slowing down, and occasionally appearing to stop again despite her ability to breathe) She wasn’t able to talk coherently, occasionally mumbling and moaning out random phrases: “Had to leave,” “Kodō-Kodō no Mi,” “No more experiments, please,” “I’ll kill you, Caesar Clown…”
The crew examined her while she was sleeping, and they got a clearer picture as to where this woman came from. She was wearing a jumpsuit with three logos on the back: A Marine logo on the left, the World Government insignia on the right, and the personal symbol of Caesar Clown in the middle below the other two. There were various syringe marks and scars from surgical cuts and other signs that she’d been experimented on for a while. Most of the surgeries seemed to be near her heart, and when Law removed it with his Devil Fruit to examine it, it glowed with bright, swirling colors inside its cube. It seemed like this woman was a test subject of Caesar Clown’s, and that somehow she’d managed to escape.
Over the next few days, Law would record some of her mumbled phrases. When she came to, she recoiled in fear at the sight of so much medical equipment and a stranger looking down at her. She flinched and she formed a heart symbol with her hands; her chest began to glow a deep red. “St-Stenosis Beam–”
Law quickly stopped her from attacking him, and he explained that he had rescued her from the wreckage of the ship. He knew she was from Punk Hazard, and he assured her that he wasn’t allied with Caesar. She relaxed a little bit, and asked why he had saved her. Surely he wanted to use her and her ability, just like Caesar…
Law simply replied that as a doctor, he had an obligation to treat her injuries. If he had ignored her, it would be violating his own moral principle. ____ was shocked; the only doctor she’d ever known since birth was Caesar Clown, and the idea of one with a moral code seemed unbelievable.
She spent the next few weeks recovering in bed, and Law spent every day with her. They started to grow close, and she explained that her Devil Fruit could manipulate her heartbeat and the heartbeats of others. She’d been fed the fruit at a very young age, and that Caesar had been experimenting on her since she had eaten it. It had been a long period of torture, but she finally found the courage to escape during Akainu and Aokiji’s fight on the island. A lightning storm had left her stranded… ”Until you came along,” she said with a small smile.
She was exhausted, but she managed to find the strength to reach out and touch Law’s hand as she sank into the pillows propping her up. She gently squeezed him and stared up at him, tears brimming her eyes. “Thank you,” she whispered hoarsely. Her eyes fluttered, and she fell asleep with her fingers still intertwined with his. Law felt his heart flutter a bit, and he was confused at the sensation. ____ was just a patient, after all–Surely, ____was using her Devil Fruit to tamper with his heartbeat…right?

Coach!Eustass Kid/Student!Reader
Hello author-sama! I would like to ask for a scenario (or headcanon if you prefer) of Law, Kid, and a character of your choice with an s/o who is rather petite and uses performance-enhancing drugs thinking it is the best/only way to keep up with the rest of the crew. Thank you very much!
Warning: lil bit of angsty self-doubt, aggressively encouraging kiddo
Word Count: 2,4k
You watched hopelessly as the ball came down through the hoop for a 3-point goal to the enemy team.
The cheers and shouting hadn’t even subsided when the game clock indicated half-time, starting a break. The break you’d have rather passed on, if only it meant escaping your coach’s piercing glare of disappointment.
And there he was, already marching towards the benches your team was sat on, expression as furious and wild as usual. You weren’t the only one worried about his judgemental speech that was yet to arrive - reading Zoro’s face like a book, the boy seemed frustrated. He was wiping the sweat out of his forehead when your coach slammed his hands on the bench right next to him.
“What was that?” he spat, sweeping his gaze around the team. “I thought you had attitudes! You wanna be stinkin’ losers forever? Sittin’ here while the other team is celebratin’?” The coach threw his arms out in anger. “I can’t believe this shit!”
“Sorry, coach,” Usopp muttered, nervously tapping the bench. “We’ll try next quarter.”
“Yes, you will.” Coach pointed at him with his finger, red hair tousled and giving him a devilish vibe, especially when mixed with the flaming passion in his eyes. “You will keep tryin’ until you get what this sport is about. This is not only your personal defeat. The whole team will lose if each one of you won’t get your shit together and start playin’ like I taught you!”
“Yes, coach.” Your team members murmured under their breaths, faces grim. The only one who didn’t seem at all bothered, as per usual, was Luffy; the boy gritting his teeth and shooting provocative glances towards the enemy team, as if challenging them to fight. In one hand he clutched a grand-sized sandwich - he had one for each break in between the quarters.
Your coach sent him a long glance and, for a split second, his face bent into a smirk. “You’re the biggest hope for this team, Mugiwara. Stubborn idiot.”
You couldn’t help but smile upon hearing those words, Luffy’s grin growing with pride. During the game, the sight of your team leader never losing his vigor and will to fight always managed to lift your spirits up.
“I will just go and...grab something from my locker.” You weren’t sure whether anyone had heard you, the team busy with going through the game plan for the millionth time. The smell of sweat and Luffy’s sandwich turned into one of deodorants when you entered the empty changing room.
Your racing heart seemed to calm down a bit, the courtesy of dim lighting and overall silence; but it soon picked up on its pace again when you remembered just why you were there in the first place, and not revising the tactics with your team.
Hands shaking, you opened your locker and reached for a tiny zip-lock bag underneath your jacket, laying at the bottom. There it was, the last pill, almost like the last obstacle you had to overpower before revealing your true potential.
You knew you had it in you, somewhere deep and - as for now - hidden. Would you be able to develop it without the drugs? Probably. But why wait, if a much quicker opportunity was right there under your nose?
It was determination that eventually made your hands stop trembling, a sudden feeling of boldness took over your chest. This had to be done. Even if the game would be lost, at least you’d have done everything in your power to give as much from yourself as possible.
What if you could do it without the pill? With enough stubbornness, would you be able to get on the same level as Zoro, or even Luffy? Maybe you were just off during the last quarter, maybe if you focused...
There was Nami, with her muscly figure, practically flying around the court; the sheer sight of her was enough to distract all of the people taking part in the game, and adding her skills? She was simply amazing.
Sanji, with his quick wits and powerful blocks, was always the first one to chase the ball, leading in attack along with Zoro. They were fast, ruthless and effective. When Luffy came into play, there was hardly a team out there that could stop those three together. Adding Usopp and his strategic thinking, there was always a brilliant tactic to perform during the matches.
And yet, that day’s game wasn’t going as planned. Whether it was the enemy team being simply too good or the overall mood to blame, it didn’t matter. The pill on your palm could give you a boost, maybe even save the game.
The silence in the room wasn’t helping. It almost felt as if it disapproved of your way of thinking with its overwhelming hush. The layer of sweat on your skin already managed to seep through the clothing, making it sticky and uncomfortable.
That was it, the break was about to end. Now or never - you squeezed the pill in your hand and reached for a water bottle.
“What are you doin’?”
The voice cut through the silence like a knife. Spinning around, you noticed your coach leaning against the doorframe, his face blank.
“Nothing. I forgot my water bottle.”
“Is this how it’s gonna be? My own student lyin’ to me?” He approached you; you couldn’t stand the heavy gaze of his eyes. “Show me your hand.”
Your mind turned completely empty, not a single thought to help you in this dire need, your body numb with fear. Even if you wanted to lift your arm, it just refused to cooperate.
The enemy team you didn’t care about, it was easy to take any step to defeat them in a game. Your own team? They deserved to have you at your best. But your coach - he was the person to teach you how to dribble, how to do jump shots and slam dunks, how to foul someone without a referee noticing. And if he was to acknowledge the fact that you didn’t classify yourself as a good enough player to make it without drugs, you might have as well resigned from the team right then.
You could only shake your head in denial when his grip tensed on your hand and brought it to light, revealing the white pill.
“Throw it away.”
“Coach, I-”
“Throw it away!” he hissed, sweeping his eyes along the room. “Before someone comes in.”
On stiff legs, you made it to the nearest trash can and obeyed the order - you wouldn’t dare to do otherwise. He observed closely as you returned to the locker, bitter tears of shame glossy on your cheeks.
“What do you have to say to me, (Name)?”
Your nails buried into the skin on your palm. There was nothing in your mind, not one coherent sentence to explain yourself, the perspective of having your coach let down by your actions already burning your guts.
“Nothin’?” he gritted and took a step forward. Your back touched the cold metal of the lockers. “Nothin’? At least stand up for yourself, for Christ’s sake! I taught you better than that!”
You could see his white button-up shirt flexing from the movements of his body as he slammed one hand against the lockers, pinning you in the process.
“Tell me why.” His voice continued to be low and restricted, but it rang in the quiet room anyway. “Were you scared? Didn’t wanna see how weak you actually are?”
“I know how weak I am.”
“Then why? Runnin’ away from the truth won’t take you anywhere. Face it or get out of my team.” He caught your gaze, still motionless in front of you - people always talked how scary and unpredictable he could get, but for someone who knew him that long, it was more about persuasion than instability. Seeing the anger and impatience in his eyes snapped you out of the panic, offering words instead.
“I don’t want to drag them down with me.” You took a deep breath. “I know we can win this game. I just need a boost.”
“Listen to me-” His sentence was cut off by a bell signaling the break was coming to an end. You wanted to move, out of habit, but your coach didn’t as much as flinch so you remained in your spot.
“If there were some pills, legal or not, that could make you all play better, I’d be the first one to get them. But this,” he pointed at the now-empty bag on the floor with his chin. “This shit will make you better for some time. And then you will keep droppin’ lower and lower until you won’t even be able to get out of your damn bed without poppin’ one of those.”
“Am I supposed to let us lose the game then?” You shivered in frustration, a scorching lump in your stomach growing heavier. There was already loud commotion coming from the direction of the court, the match starting any minute.
“Yes! Lose this game, lose ten other games after this! Face it and keep trainin’.” He finally moved away and fidgeted with the collar of his shirt, purposefully making it more crooked than before. “Life is harsh, baby boo. Truth hurts. But it’s better than some dumb tricks that don’t do shit anyway.”
You wiped your nose and snorted. “Aren’t you going to report this to someone?”
Another sound indicated the start of the game. Your coach rolled his eyes and directed you towards the door with a slight push at the small of your back. “To the referees? Bunch of pricks. They’d kick you out of the team and I’d have to deal with recruitin’ someone new, then trainin’ them from the start, yadda, yadda, yadda. Borin’. Ain’t no one got time for that.”
“Coach?” you stopped before the door and shot him a glance.
“What?”
“Thank you.”
It was his turn to snort as he gestured for you to hurry up. “Yeah, that’s right. Thank God for me. Now get your ass out there.”
The sight of your team already on the court gave you a boost of confidence when you jogged over to them, trying to forget about the wasted pill in the changing room.
The game flew even quicker than normally - it was a mixture of blocking, passing and sneakily elbowing the opponents in the guts when the referee’s head was turned in the other direction, just as your coach taught you.
He was constantly shouting out last-second tips for you and also some heavy insults at the enemy team. No one dared to point it out though, and you were proud to have him as a mentor; after all, it wasn’t easy to intimidate the whole team, the spectators and all the referees at the same time.
The game clock was merciless, showing less and less time until the end of the match. The score was almost even, but there were still a couple of points left for a tie.
“(Name)-chan!” Sanji threw a bounce pass - as soon as you felt the ball in your hand, a surge of adrenaline washed over your entire body. Before you were able to assess the situation, breath got punched out of your chest when an opponent launched themselves onto you and knocked you onto the floor.
“Oi! The fuck was that?” You heard your coach’s yell mixing with a loud whistle as you quickly gathered yourself from the floor.
“(Name), you okay?” Nami asked and you answered with a short nod.
“I’m screwin’ your mom!” Your team grinned upon hearing the shout of your coach, directed towards the player that fouled you. That man knew how to boost morale, that was for sure. “And your dad too!”
Laughter died in your throat as quickly as it appeared when you noticed there were 10 seconds left till the end of the game - the ball being handed to you by the referee as he granted your team two free throws.
Focus, you thought to yourself and fixed your position on the court. The cheering of the people was muffled by the rushing of blood in your ears, your hands trembling around the ball.
“Just shoot,” your leader chimed from behind your back. “Whatever happens, happens. It’s okay!”
You couldn’t help but smile up to him. He was right; whatever was going to happen, at least it will be the truth.
During the first throw, the ball landed perfectly in the hoop and you earned an immerse chanting of the crowd. You searched for your coach - he was there, casually sprawled on the bench as if he already knew the result of the game, a slight smirk on his lips.
Your arms and legs went numb during the second throw. Everyone’s eyes were on the ball as it balanced on the ring of the hoop, your breath held back and then taken away from you as if it was another foul when the ball leaned to the side and plopped down onto the floor, missing the shot.
A triumphant roar of the opponents filled your mind when the score indicated their win.
“Good game!” Luffy sprinted past, patting you on the back. His hair all tousled and dripping with sweat, shirt sticking to his skin. “See you at the training!”
The rest of the team made their way to the changing room as well, but not without giving you a quick hug and a few encouraging words. Zoro was the last one to leave the court as he sent you a thumbs-up and reached for his water bottle.
“So?”
You still stood in the same place when your coach approached you, arms crossed on his huge chest.
“’So?’ We lost the game. Just as I thought.”
“So what? There will be another chance.” His voice was as nonchalant as ever. “Now get your ass out of here.”
“But-”
“You better be on the practice tomorrow.”
You struggled to argue but soon gave up and puffed out a surrendering breath. “Coach?”
“What is it this time?”
“Thank you.”
He just smirked again and gave you a teasing nudge as you walked off the basketball court together.

Welcome to the Heart Pirates, Nami-ya chapter 9: Mark of Property
She was back in her room. Not the comfortable bedroom she shared with Robin, which smelled of mikans, fresh flowers, and old books and was full of colorful, girly furniture and cute clothes. There was no golden glow from the lamps or cups of tea steaming on the coffee table. No calls from Luffy to come play a game or strands of Brook’s latest song floating in through the open window.
This was her room in Arlong Park.
Her prison.
Sea charts covered every available surface—tables, chairs, piled in stacks on the floor, hanging from the walls. All of them meticulously hand-drawn, but not on paper—the parchment was made of skin, the ink blood, the pen in her hand a human bone. Furiously, she mapped out her latest chart on a piece of freshly flayed-and-dried skin, Mr. Genzo’s scarred stretched out flat and lifeless, staring up at her.
Her hands were wet with blood, palms torn apart and fingers so twisted it was miracle she could even hold the pen, but she knew she couldn’t stop. Shackles bound her to the hard metal desk, harshly cutting into her thin wrists. The room was swelteringly hot, like a sauna, and sweat mixed with the blood dripping down her fingers onto the parchment, staining it and smudging the details.
“Still alive in here, Nami?” a cruel, deep voice chuckled, his dark shadow casting over her. “Got everything you need? I’m happy to head to town to pick up more paper.”
“I—I’m fine,” she croaked, hand trembling. “I have everything I need.”
Cold, rough fingertips combed through her hair. “Shahahahaha! Of course you do! I’ll always provide for my cute little navigator.” Without warning, a large, webbed hand grabbed her orange locks, slamming her head down onto the desk, smearing the wet blood across her cheeks.
“Look at what you’ve done, you nasty girl! You messed up your chart!” he sneered. Out of the corner of her eye, Nami could see a long, jagged nose and shark teeth viciously grinning down at her. “Guess you’ll need new parchment after all. Take your pick—the rubber boy, or your sister?”
“No, please!” she screamed, frantically trying to claw at his arm, struggling to get free. Her shoulder burned like it was being pierced by a thousand hellfire needles, the swirling, vicious shark insignia once more being slowly etched into her arm. “Don’t hurt them!”
“You’re one of my most trusted officers, Nami—I’ll do anything to help you achieve your dream,” he laughed mockingly. “You’ll stay in this room and draw your charts forever. That’s your place in the Fishman Pirates!”
“Leave me alone!”
“Leave you alone? I could never do that.” Arlong leaned forward until the tip of his saw nose lightly dented the fragile flesh of her cheek. His eyes were like those of a Sea King’s, full of predatory malice. “After all, you’re mine.”
“Nami? Nami! Nami wake up!”
Brown eyes snapped open as Nami was jerked awake, arms instinctively crossing over her face in defense. She tried to kick her assailant, but her legs were tangled in the blankets.
“Whoa, girl, it’s me!” Ikkaku said worriedly, concern written all over her face as she gently stroked her shoulder, hand gently encircling her wrist to pry it from her eyes. “It’s ok, you’re safe. I’m not going to hurt you.”
Heart racing while sweat dripped down her back, it took her a minute to register the engineer’s voice. “Wha…what happened?” she rasped, throat tight and dry. She gratefully accepted the glass of water Ikkaku offered her, the cool liquid fully waking her up. Rubbing her eyes, she took in the room around her. It was the one she shared with Ikkaku on the Polar Tang. There were no charts drawn on the skin of her friends, no blood, no Fishmen looking to enslave her.
“You tell me. Sounded like you were having one hell of a nightmare.”
With a tired groan Nami tried to push away the image of her former captain by focusing on untangling her feet. She glanced at her left arm, grateful to see the pinwheel and tangerine instead of the primal shark. “Yeah. A nightmare. Barely remember it now, though.”
The older woman frowned, clearly not believing her, but she’d learned in the two months they’d spent together that it was best not to pry into the navigator’s past and thoughts. “If you do remember and want to talk, I’m here for you. Or, Penguin’s kind of an amateur therapist—got his work cut out for him on this ship, but he’s a good listener if you need to get something off your chest.”
“I’m fine,” Nami insisted, running a hand through her damp hair. Though not as bad as the dream, the small bedroom felt stifling. “Really, it’s nothing to worry about. Probably just something I ate last night.”
“Alright. Why don’t you grab a shower and we’ll head to breakfast? I’ll strip your bed and toss them in the hamper for you.”
Looking down at the yellow sheets, she was shocked at how sodden they were. Had she been sweating that much? “Good idea. Thanks, Ikkaku,” she sighed, grabbing a pair of short shorts and a low-cut crop top and heading towards the women’s bathroom across the hall. The ship felt stuffier than usual, even though they’d surfaced just the other day. Nami was pretty sure it was because it had been nearly three weeks since they’d made port—Law had insisted on waiting before selling off their stolen goods, more interested in putting distance between themselves and the Marines first to play it safe. It was a fair point, but the thief had argued that the longer they waited, the more time the Navy had to put out descriptions of the various art pieces they’d stolen, which could also put them in danger.
Eventually, after much quarreling, a compromise was reached—they’d fenced Kujakumaru’s watch and melted down the squid statue at Knox Island, and also faxed a photo of Nami burning the blackmail ledger to the nearby Marine base. This would lead the authorities to assume they were making their way down the most southern path of the Grand Line, but in actuality, the Polar Tang would go north, cutting through two of the routes to instead reach the Isles of Grimm. Such a feat would be impossible to do on a normal ship, but the submarine’s high-tech navigational equipment, paired with an eternal pose, made it child’s play.
At first, the navigator had absolutely loved that Law was smart and cautious enough to avoid trouble, but after nearly three weeks, Nami was getting stir-crazy. As much as she’d complained about Luffy getting the crew into unnecessary danger in the name of adventure, she was starting to miss it. There had been no attacks, no mysterious phenomena, no royals in disguise that needed their help. Deep as they were underwater, even the Grand Line’s sudden storms barely affected them.
Somehow, that made her more anxious. It was like being in an isolation chamber, unable to feel the wind and sea in her bones. Or maybe she’d just gotten so used to Luffy’s mad pace that her body didn’t know what to do with itself now that he life hadn’t been endangered in almost a month.
Standing under the cool spray of the shower, she groaned. Part of her also wondered if her anxiety was because of the new birth control Law had put her on. The last one hadn’t been working as well as she’d liked, so he’d given her a shot of a new, stronger drug he’d developed. It wasn’t unusual for her body to react to new meds with a fever or mild insomnia for the first few days, but she was certain once her hormones adjusted to the new chemicals she’d be back to normal. Until then, she’d just have to endure feeling too hot and the occasional bad dream.
Just don’t dwell on it, she thought as she massaged shampoo into her short, mikan locks. Arlong’s gone. Luffy kicked his ass, and he can’t hurt you anymore. Absently, her hand rubbed her shoulder, fingers lightly tracing the thin scars beneath her new tattoo.
What she needed was a distraction. So long as she had something else to occupy her mind, she could push away the unease tingling beneath her skin.
Clean, cooled down, and wide awake, she threw on her clothes and shoes before joining Ikkaku, making their way towards the galley in companionable silence. She appreciated that she didn’t pry—she was beginning to consider the older woman a friend, much like Robin, but that didn’t mean she was ready to talk about her time with the Fishman Pirates. In fact, she was leery about getting too close in general—once the year was up and Luffy’s life debt was squared, their crews would be rivals at the very least.
What if they ended up clashing over the One Piece? What if their captains fought? Would she be able to stand against Ikkaku and Bepo and the others?
Sitting down at the table and shaking those thoughts from her mind, she decided to instead contemplate how different the Heart Pirates were from the Straw Hats. On an average day, by this time Zoro and Sanji would be well into their early morning squabble, Luffy’d be stuffing himself with meat, Usopp would have awed Chopper with his tall tales, there’d be deafening crashes and clangs from Franky’s workshop, and Nami would have punched at least three of her shipmates for any number of reasons.
In contrast, mornings on the Polar Tang were subdued, mainly due to the captain’s terrible insomnia. The lively crew knew better than to cause a ruckus before Law got his morning coffee, respectfully keeping their voices down until he gave them leave to talk.
In some ways, it was nice to have such a well-behaved crew, but it also made the sting of her nakama’s absence that much stronger. Sure, Luffy was a reckless idiot who was always trying to steal her food, but his carefree smile always made mornings a little brighter. Zoro and Sanji’s bickering and Usopp’s boasts were noisy yet comforting after years of traveling alone. Robin and Brook’s very presence was calming, even if the archeologist’s sense of humor was disturbing and the skeleton’s requests to see her panties drove her insane.
I wonder how they’re all doing? Nami wondered, absently pushing her scrambled eggs around her plate. Are they getting enough vitamin C without my mikans? Who’s keeping Zoro from getting lost? Is Robin ok being alone again? What about Brook? It’s not fair that he spent fifty years alone, just to lose his new crew after just a few days.
Brought out of her melancholy thoughts by Bepo taking his place next to her, she gave the bear a smile. “How’re the plans for the garden coming along?”
He returned the gesture shyly. “Pretty well. We’ve picked out a storage room to convert that should be empty once we’ve cashed in the treasure. Clione and the engineers have made some great progress with the sun lamps. Of course, they need to run some tests to make sure plants can really thrive under the conditions.”
She hummed in agreement. “No sense wasting money on seeds and stuff if everything dies right away.”
Bepo nervously twiddled his claws. “I was actually hoping you could help me figure out what we’ll need and work out the costs, since you’re good with money and have real gardening experience.”
It was funny how she wasn’t even tempted to charge him a consultant fee. Scary as she would have thought traveling with a giant bear would be, Bepo was the one she had developed the biggest soft spot for. Maybe it was because it was nice to finally have a fellow navigator to talk to and the Mink was so shy she couldn’t even imagine him as a threat anymore. Or maybe having a talking animal around just made her miss Chopper slightly less. “Sure thing, though I’m no expert on growing plants indoors.”
“Still have more experience than the rest of us,” Penguin pointed out as he kindly refilled her coffee cup.
“True. It’s why I told Captain Law to put you in charge of the garden,” Clione said from the far end of the table.
She frowned at the science officer. “I’m happy to help, but shouldn’t you be in charge of it? You’re Law’s chief biologist.”
“I specialize in marine biology—my knowledge of land plants and animals isn’t nearly as advanced, and that doesn’t mean I can grow anything. You’re honestly the only one here that can get this whole greenhouse experiment to work.”
Teeth worrying her lip, she felt her stomach twist in a knot. The thought of being given such a big project on her temporary ship didn’t sit well with her. What if it wasn’t finished before the year was up? Would they have to abandon the whole thing, or would they insist on keeping her around until it was done? “I’ll teach you what I can before I leave. Ten months should be enough time for you to develop a green thumb,” she insisted, forcing optimism into her voice.
His brow furrowed beneath his blunt bangs at the mention of her leaving. “We’ll see. Before we do any of that, though, we need to get the actual room set up. Aside from sun lamps and fertilizer, we need to set up a sprinkler system, temperature control, and a ton of other stuff.”
“So, we should wait to decide on what to grow, huh?” the bear asked gloomily.
“Oh, cheer up, Bepo. Law always says it’s never too early to plan. Grimm has that great bookshop, so pick up a guide to plants and see which ones will do best in lower light and damp conditions,” Shachi offered, shoveling scrambled eggs into his mouth. His broken arm was healing nicely, a sling no longer necessary and the cast scheduled to come off tomorrow. Everyone knew he planned on keeping it, though, since Nami had signed it, the little hearts added around her name coaxing a heavy blush from the ginger.
“Assuming we ever make port,” Nami grumbled.
Sympathetic, he patted her hand. “Hey, we’ll get there; we’ve got you and Bepo as our navigators, right? How much longer is it supposed to be?”
“I actually checked this morning,” the Mink said. “If we stay on course, it shouldn’t be more than three days.”
She immediately perked up. “That’s not so bad. New clothes here I come!”
“Shhh!” Ikkaku shushed, peeking through the doorway. “Captain’s coming—chatter ends now.”
Mouths snapped closed and the crew became extremely focused on their breakfast as Law, groggy and sour, meandered into the galley, making a beeline for the full coffee pot. Penguin had prepped a fresh batch only minutes before, and without even hesitating, the captain raised the glass pot to his lips, gulping down the caffeinated elixir, barely taking a breath between swallows or even seeming to notice the brew was scalding hot.
Two months ago, the sight would have astounded and horrified Nami, but now she just rolled her eyes and let him drink without comment.
Instead, she took the chance to observe him out of the corner of her eye. She could tell he’d been getting less sleep than usual; his hoodie hung off him a bit more, the circles under his eyes were darker, and his already angular face looked narrower. The rest of the crew insisted that Law simply went through worse periods of insomnia once in a while, but Nami was certain it was because he was up late studying those ledgers. He’d spent most of the past three weeks locked away in his quarters or mucking about in the lab, and the few times Penguin had managed to drag him to the galley he’d barely paid attention to what he was eating, his amber eyes fixated on his notes. Once, Nami tried to sneak a piece of bread onto his plate to see if he’d notice, but Shachi snatched it away before the captain could accidentally take a bite.
After a few moments Law blinked away the last specks of drowsiness and turned to the crew, holding the half-finished coffee pot like a mug. “I have good news; we should be making port soon, there’s been no sight of Marines, and my contacts on Grimm are eager to take some gold off our hands.”
The pirates cheered while he fetched his morning onigiri from the fridge, strolling over to take his place at the head of the table, right next to Nami. It had become an unspoken agreement among the crew that she sit at Law’s left side during meals, though she wasn’t sure whether it was due to her status as a guest or because they had ulterior motives.
“Just gold?” she asked under her breath.
He smirked at her. “Well, gold, jewelry, paintings, and a few jewel-encrusted trinkets that I can’t actually discern the purpose of, but you get the idea. Far easier to fence than, say, chemical formulas.”
“Like the one you’ve been working on?” she accused lowly. She hadn’t been able to steal many glances at his notes, and what she had seen had been either in code or nigh-indecipherable scribblings, but with how fixated and secretive he’d been, she was suspicious.
“Why, yes, exactly like the formula for hyper-nutritious fertilizer I’ve been working on with Clione,” he replied smoothly, grin widening at her shocked expression. “Turns out Dr. Vegapunk’s work isn’t all weapons of mass destruction. I know how eager you are to set up that garden, so I thought I’d try to get that finished before we made port.”
Nami glanced at the biologist, who gave a nod of agreement, and she instantly felt reassured. Clione had a terrible poker face, so she knew it had to be the truth. “You didn’t have to exhaust yourself over that,” she scolded lightly. Now that she knew he wasn’t trying to start a war, she felt a little guilty about how much he’d pushed himself over such a minor thing.
“I wanted to have it completed so we’d know what to pick up while in Grimm. I assume you’re going clothes shopping?” he asked around a large bite of onigiri. It was kind of funny how such a fierce pirate had a habit of stuffing his cheeks like a chipmunk, but it was more relieving to actually see him properly eat again.
Mood lightened, Nami flashed a wide smile. “Yup! I’ve got belli burning a hole in my pocket and a wardrobe that needs filling. Nothing makes a girl feel better about being attacked by a giant squid like retail therapy!”
“Speaking of clothes, were you ever supplied a uniform?”
“…yeah, why?”
He shrugged, taking another bite. “Well, considering how Grimm is an archipelago with one of the most dangerous black markets on the Grand Line, you’ll be required to wear it if you plan on leaving the ship.”
“Excuse me?” she asked, eyes narrowing dangerously.
“It’s for your own safety, Nami-ya. The place isn’t as nice as Sabaody—it’s full of brothels, drug dealers, back-alley doctors, pirates, bounty hunters, and slave traders. My uniform basically tells everyone you’re off-limits.”
“Not. Happening,” she sneered through clenched teeth, grip on her fork tightening like she might stab him with it.
There was no way in hell she was going to let Law stick her in one of his gross jumpsuits. Ikkaku might have been able to pull it off, but that was because she had that tomboyish energy; Nami preferred showing off her skin and feminine figure. Plus, she was still leaning on the theory that the Dark Doctor has some kind of weird fetish for fully clothed people, and that uniform basically covered every inch of skin south of her chin.
Most of all, the redhead despised the idea of anyone telling her what to wear. Clothing was more than just a luxury—to her, it was an expression of freedom. Her childhood had been full of hand-me-downs, and then Arlong’s horrible tattoo had further limited her wardrobe, preventing her from wearing certain shirts for fear of people seeing the shameful brand.
That jumpsuit, with the Heart Pirate Jolly Roger plastered all over, was basically a mark of ownership, and Nami would not be another captain’s property.
Law glared down at her, unimpressed at being refused. “I’m giving this order to everyone; if we were heading to a safer island, I wouldn’t care, but the last thing I need is for you to get kidnapped because you’re not recognized as a member of the Heart Pirates.”
Tension simmered in the air as she matched his stare. “I can take care of myself, Trafalgar, and I’m not a member of the Heart Pirates. We agreed nearly two months ago that you weren’t going to subject me to your crew’s dress code, and I’m holding you to that.”
“That was before I realized just how much of a trouble magnet you are. If I left you to your own devices, I’d find you in the grasp of a giant squid monster again. So, if you want to get off the ship, you’re going to wear the damn uniform and stick with at least three of your shipmates.” Taking another swig of coffee, he met her angry eyes unflinchingly. “Otherwise, I’ll have to keep you on my arm the whole trip, and I promise I have no intention of going clothes shopping. So, what’s it gonna be, Nami-ya?”
She glanced around the galley, hoping for anyone to back her up. She knew the guys loved watching her prance around in her skimpy outfits, so surely they wouldn’t want Law to cover her up and make her wear such a conservative, ugly jumpsuit, right? And Ikkaku was always cheering her on when she sassed the captain, so of course she could count on her for backup.
But she found no support among the crew. Everyone was either nodding in agreement or not even paying attention.
“Seriously?” she growled.
“We get it’s not your style, Nami, but he’s right—safety comes over fashion,” Penguin said, voice gentle but expression stern. “You’re a wanted pirate whose face is known all over the Grand Line—of all of us, you’d be the most tempting target for low-life bounty hunters.”
“You’ll appreciate it when you get there,” Ikkaku added. “It’s always damp and cold there, and it’s not like any of my warmer clothes fit you.”
“It’ll just be for a few days,” Jean Bart supplied helpfully. “And maybe if things go well, Captain Law will ease up and let you wear your normal clothes.”
Said captain gave Nami a considering smirk. “Maybe. So long as everyone is on their best behavior.”
With no backup and no alternative, the navigator knew she had no choice but to give in, even as she seethed inside. Part of her argued that she was making a big deal out of nothing, that it was just an outfit, but it just didn’t sit right with her. He’d assured her when they first made their deal that he wouldn’t make her wear the uniform, but here he was going back on his word.
Just like Arlong had.
She shook her head, banishing the thought. For all his faults, Law was a far cry from Arlong, and an ugly uniform was nothing like selling her out to the Marines for the sake of denying her freedom. Hell, she even had three days—more than enough time for him to change his mind. It was such a little thing, after all, so surely if she complained enough he’d give in to her demands to save himself the headache.
XXX
Three days later, the Polar Tang had successfully docked, and Law was leading Nami and half the Heart Pirates through the shady port. Jean Bart, Bepo, Ikkaku, and Uni all carried heavy chests filled with gold bars, artwork, and other goods Law’s contacts could easily fence, while the rest of the group carefully guarded them, keeping an eye out for pickpockets, enemy pirates feeling brave, and undercover Marines.
Appearance-wise, the Isles of Grimm certainly lived up to its name—a thick miasma of fog settled over the port, while narrow streets were lined with buildings made out of dark wood and stone, giving a very claustrophobic feeling. Scantily dressed women called from brothel balconies, and shady figures beckoned unwary travelers into shadowed alleys. Yet despite the atmosphere, it was unquestionably a thriving, bustling port, and the large assortment of shops were to die for. Clothing, books, tools, weapons, cartography equipment, gardening centers, souvenirs, food stalls—the place was practically bursting with places to spend money.
Unfortunately, Nami’s excitement was thoroughly dampened by her outfit. Despite the island’s cool temperature, she felt way too hot in her thick, canvas jumpsuit. Bulky, cumbersome, and unflattering to her gorgeous figure, she was positive it was what she’ll be forced to wear in Hell. It wasn’t even vibrant orange like Bepo’s, but bland off-white like everyone else’s. She was at least able to unbutton the neck and roll up the sleeves show her cleavage and vent the heat, and she’d taken in the waist a bit, but the material still felt coarse and heavy against her overheated skin. Worst of all, there was nothing she could do to hide Law’s Jolly Roger on the back and left breast pocket, branding her a Heart Pirate for all the world to see.
It made her left shoulder sting with a phantom pain, a harsh reminder of her years as one of Arlong’s officers.
“Whoever designed these uniforms should be dragged out into the street and shot,” she grumbled as she pushed down the anxiety her dark memories coaxed to the surface. She didn’t care if Law or anyone else heard her—hell, she’d been plenty vocal of her distaste over the past few days and he still insisted she wear the damn thing!
“At least they have pockets,” Ikkaku pointed out helpfully.
“Literally this thing’s only good point.”
Uni’s quiet voice beside her chimed in, “I know you don’t like it, but trust me, if Captain didn’t feel it was completely necessary, he wouldn’t go through the trouble of making you do it. At the very least, save your complaints until after we’ve cashed in our treasure—we don’t need the extra attention.”
She rolled her eyes but bit her tongue. Uni wasn’t a big talker, but when he did speak, it was usually sound advice. And given how a large group of uniformed pirates carrying goods naturally drew the eye, he definitely had a point.
That didn’t mean she wouldn’t silently pout, though.
As they strolled past the display window of a curiosity shop, Nami saw Law glance at something, then literally walk backwards to get a better look.
“Commemorative coins from the past six Reveries,” he murmured with hushed reverence, nose nearly pressed against the glass. “I’m missing a few of these.” Without even a glance back at the crew he sauntered into the store, Kikoku propped on his shoulder and wallet already in hand.
Surprised, Nami raised a curious eyebrow at Ikkaku, who giggled behind her hand. “Captain’s an avid coin collector,” she said.
Bepo added, “Every time we find treasure, he inspects every single coin in case there’s something he can add to his collection.”
“Seriously?”
“See, you have something in common,” Ikkaku laughed. “You’re both obsessed with money!”
The thief elbowed her in the side, quietly growling that she had “nothing in common with that jerk.”
“Yeah, you do,” Shachi chuckled. “Neither of you like taking orders, either, and you’re both really stubborn and irritable when you don’t get your way.”
“I am not!”
“Then what have the past few days been?” he retorted with a victorious smirk.
She glared but couldn’t quite argue the point. Admittedly, she blamed some of it on the fact that she’d still been feeling hot and anxious, and sleep had continued to be plagued with bad dreams. None so terrible that Ikkaku had to wake her up again, and half of them she honestly couldn’t remember once morning came, but it was at the point that every time she went to sleep, she woke up feeling more exhausted. She had nearly exhausted her supply of concealer covering up the circles that were forming under her eyes. So yeah, she’d been irritable, and maybe the uniform wasn’t the best hill to die on, but their captain was a grump when his insomnia got bad, so maybe they should cut her some slack!
Uni’s blunt tap to her shoulder kept her from bringing this up, as her attention was diverted to the newspaper in his hand. “Thought you might want to take a look at this—seems the world’s caught wind of our connection.”
Russet eyes widened as they landed on the headline, and she felt her heart stop as she quickly read the article.
HAS A STRAW HAT DEFECTED TO THE HEART PIRATES?
As the dust settles on the chilling attack on the Harpin mansion on Tokken Island, many are now claiming that the Heart Pirates did not act alone but were in fact aided by “Cat Thief” Nami.
A member of the Straw Hat Pirates with a bounty of 16 million belli, this elusive burglar was believed to have vanished with the rest of her crew, but several eyewitness reports claim that it was she who assisted “Surgeon of Death” Captain Trafalgar Law, a pirate with a bounty of 200 million belli, in his assassination of former Head of Navy Intelligence Baron “Gorudotako” Harpin Gerald.
“Of course, it was her!” states Inebura Kujakumaru, the late Baron Harpin’s nephew. “She may have struck me down when I valiantly attempted to stop her, but not before I got a good look at her tattoo. Every man’s seen her wanted poster, so I’d recognize it anywhere.”
“I don’t know how those pirates got into my brother’s party, but it had to be her,” confirms Inebura Beatrix, his mother. “Who else could have gotten past Gerald’s security? She and Trafalgar Law are in cahoots, yet the Navy hasn’t done anything about it!”
If such bold claims are true and it is “Cat Thief” Nami, could this be a sign that the Straw Hats are, in fact, dead? Is she the sole survivor and has chosen to defect to a new crew and aid them in their reign of terror?
Despite his family’s statements, Harpin Reginald, who is due to inherit his brother’s estate and become the new governor of Tokken Island, disagrees that the woman seen was really the infamous thief.
“The Straw Hats have been missing for months, but that doesn’t mean they’re dead,” he says. “Moreover, even if they were, why would one of them join a rival crew instead of an ally’s? It seems more likely that it’s an imposter or—excuse the pun—a copy-cat. I would not put it past the Heart Pirates to employ an imitator for the sake of throwing off pursuers and sending the world into an uproar.
“My brother had many enemies, however I doubt the Straw Hats were among them. Her presence makes little sense, and with his abilities, what would Trafalgar Law need a cat burglar for? I believe the young woman is merely an imposter whose presence was designed to send the Marines on a wild goose chase.”
Harpin adds, “However, whether or not the young lady was indeed ‘Cat Thief’ Nami is irrelevant to me. I leave it to the authorities to bring my brother’s killers to justice—my focus is on repairing the damage done to the island, both that caused by the Heart Pirates and Gerald’s gross mismanagement.”
Marine Captains “White Chase” Smoker and “Black Cage” Hina, who were both on the scene and battled the pirates to protect the trapped partygoers, were unavailable for comment, though Navy Headquarters assures the world that they are out hunting the culprits.
“Whether ‘Cat Thief’ Nami has defected to the Heart Pirates or the woman who aided Trafalgar Law is an imposter does not matter,” their formal statement decrees. “She will be caught and stand trial for her crimes of burglary, assault, murder, and piracy. Justice will be served.”
“You know, the biggest surprise in that whole story is that Reginald got the estate instead of the nephew,” came Law’s voice in Nami’s ear, startling her.
“Don’t sneak up on people!” she snapped, hand whipping out to strike him, though he easily dodged.
“But it’s so much fun,” he chuckled.
“You have a twisted idea of ‘fun,’” she growled, cheeks flushing as the stress made her temperature rise further. Part of her knew she couldn’t keep her connection to the Heart Pirates a secret forever, but to see the world speculate on whether she’d switched sides and if Luffy was dead was more painful than she’d imagined.
Her throat tightened as a thought came to her—did the others have access to the news? What would Sanji or Usopp or Robin say if they saw this? Surely they knew her well enough to know she’d never side with another pirate, right?
Taking a deep breath, she told herself to calm down. Of course her nakama wouldn’t believe those lies. Luffy had faith in her.
Her captain had never doubted her loyalty, and he wouldn’t start now.
Calm returned, she gave Law an unimpressed frown. “And seriously, that’s what you’re surprised at? I’m sure the Navy just seized the land and turned it over to Reginald to keep him from telling the world that Harpin had been leaking secrets.”
“Do you really think a man like him would take a bribe?” he asked, eyebrow raised.
“If it’s for the sake of the villagers his brother was willing to frame for terrorism and aiding pirates, then yeah, I do.”
“Hate to interrupt, Boss, but don’t we have an appointment to get to?” Shachi asked, not bothering to hide his amusement at their exchange.
“Yeah. Let’s cash our treasure in, then I think we can go our separate ways.” He tossed Nami a wink. “Hate to delay our Cat Thief’s shopping spree, after all.”
“You are in way too good a mood,” she groused while stomping past him, but she didn’t get far as a long, tattooed arm draped over her shoulder, lanky legs easily keeping pace with her angry strides.
“Cheer up, Nami-ya. Soon you’ll be swimming in cash and clothes,” he said smoothly. He looked much better than he had three days ago—with the fertilizer research done he’d clearly been sleeping better, and he was back to taking regular meals with the crew. The circles under his eyes were still unsettlingly prominent, but he seemed livelier and more alert, which was good considering how they were about to meet with people who regularly did business with pirates. “And personally, I think you look good in my uniform.”
“Of course you would, pervert,” she grumbled under her breath. She didn’t bother trying to shrug off his arm; there was no point, as he always seemed to find some new way to have his hands on her. At least the thick fabric of the jumpsuit dampened his hot, possessive touches.
Either he didn’t hear or simply decided to ignore her as he continued, “If it makes you feel better, you won’t be required to wear it when we go out for dinner tonight. You can wear whatever tiny scraps of clothing you want—just don’t complain when you inevitably get cold.”
“Oh, how generous of you!” she sneered quietly, keeping Uni’s advice in mind but unwilling to stand by and let Law tease her. “Really, it’s so sweet of you to give me permission to choose which of my clothes go on my body!”
Though she refused to look at him, she could feel his disapproving gaze. “Throw all the temper tantrums you want, Nami-ya; I’m not budging on this. It’s for your own safety. Of all of us, you, Bepo, and Ikkaku are the most likely to be targeted by slavers, so I’m making sure they realize that messing with you invokes the wrath of the Surgeon of Death.”
“Then why don’t you just stamp ‘Property of Trafalgar Law’ on our foreheads and be done with it?”
“Keep up your backtalk and I will,” he growled in her ear, leaning in so his hot breath danced across her sensitive skin. “At least for them. You, I’m thinking a collar and leash might be more appropriate, especially if it comes with a muzzle.”
Such a threat should not have made blood rush to her cheeks or her stomach clench, and once again she felt far too hot. “You know, for all Luffy’s flaws, at least he never forced his weird kinks on us,” she sassed, resisting the urge to open up the jumpsuit more so she could fan her flushed chest.
Law scoffed. “That’s because I’m not even sure he knows what sex is. Boa Hancock could throw herself at him wearing nothing but a smile and he wouldn’t even blink.”
“That’s not true,” she insisted. “At the very least, he seemed to appreciate seeing me naked.”
Next to her, the Supernova actually stumbled. “Wait, what? When did he see you naked?”
“Does it matter? Actually, he still owes me money for that.” Numbers adding up in her mind, she nodded to herself. “Add on two years of interest and I’ll be making a tidy profit off him.”
“I’m sorry, you charged him money to see you naked? I thought prostitution wasn’t in your repertoire?”
Craning her neck to glare up at him as she smacked his chest, she snapped, “Watch it, Trafalgar. He and the boys decided to spy on me in the bath, so I charged them 100,000 belli each. If you ask me, I was being nice for such a gross violation of privacy!”
His arm left her shoulder to raise up in surrender. “Ok, that’s fair. Considering what Ikkaku’s done to anyone dumb enough to peek on her, charging them is pretty light. My comment was out of line, and I apologize.”
“Are you sorry enough to let me wear my regular clothes?”
“Hell no, and if you keep trying to wheedle your way out of it, I’m going to make you wear it back on the ship, too.”
By that point, they’d left Grimm’s cramped shopping quarter to arrive at the meeting place—the much more open fields of the warehouse district. Gold eyes scanned the area before leading the crew inside an innocuous grey building that smelled faintly of spoiled vegetables. A few gas lamps allowed just enough light to see the dozen men waiting on the far side of the building, all muscular and rough looking, save one.
“Ah, Captain Law,” the scrawny man in front welcomed nasally. He wore a pinstriped, dark purple suit and silk top hat with a bejeweled buckle, straw-like hair sticking out in haphazard clumps as he gave a yellow-toothed smile. “So good to see you again.”
“Jinzo,” he replied with a curt nod, removing himself from Nami’s side to shake the man’s hand. “Where’s Kimo-ya?”
“Ah, my partner was victim to an unfortunate…accident just a few days ago. No clue whether or not he’ll recover, so I’m here in his stead. Really, it’s for the best; he may be well-versed in the organ trade, but I’m the one who specializes in gold.”
“If you say so,” he replied. He appeared bored, but Nami could see from the way his stance widened slightly that he was prepared for any sudden attacks. He was a smart man, and past black market dealings had taught him to never underestimate a man willing to regularly do business with pirates.
“Speaking of, I heard you amassed quite the haul on Tokken Island, and I see the reports weren’t exaggerated!”
Jerking his head, Law signaled for Jean Bart to open his chest. Even in the dim light, the gold bars gleamed like the sun. Belli signs appeared in Jinzo’s eyes as he eagerly took in the remains of the gold squid statue. After a moment, Jean Bart closed the lid with a snap, bringing the broker’s attention back to the captain.
“You’ve got the amount Kimo-ya and I agreed on?” Law asked.
“Ah, about that—you see, while your wares are certainly impressive, I’m a man of business. Kimo may have had a soft spot for you since you supplied him with so many…fresh goods, but I can’t allow his bias to affect my profits. I’m afraid that with the fees Mr. Giberson will charge me for using his warehouses to store the goods, plus the time and effort I’ll have to go through to fence off the individual pieces, your asking price was a bit high. So, I’ve decided not to give you a belli more than 200 million.”
“Excuse me?” Law snapped at the same Nami exclaimed “What?!” The rest of the Heart Pirates appeared just as outraged, with more than a few hands dropping to their weapons.
“It’s a perfectly fair price!” Jinzo insisted. “I’m even being charitable and including the bribe you’d inevitably have to pay me to keep me from selling you out to the Marines.”
“There’s more than that amount in a single chest,” the Surgeon of Death growled. “Kimo-ya and I agreed on 655 million.”
“I’m under no obligation to honor such a ridiculous price. I have warehouses fees, employees to pay, officials to bribe, and more. 200 million is fair.”
“Yeah? Well I’ve got a crew to pay, provisions to purchase, and a high-tech sub like mine isn’t cheap to maintain—655 million belli was me being generous, and that’s because I had such a good working relationship with your partner.” Gold eyes narrowed dangerously as his grip on Kikoku shifted. “As a businessman, I’m sure you understand that changing the price so drastically tends to sour a deal.”
He scoffed. “From what I heard, this isn’t even your full haul—I’d say I’m the one being cheated. Technically I’m paying 400 million belli, since I’m also giving up the chance to turn you in for your bounty.”
“Are you threatening me?” Law growled, the brim of his hat casting his eyes in menacing shadow.
“Oh no; I’m just saying that you should pick your battles carefully. Now, I have no time to barter like a fishmonger—I have other appointments after you. If you don’t like my offer, go peddle your wares to someone else.”
“That’s a great idea,” Nami chimed in, sauntering up next to Law, eyes narrowed in determination and a Cheshire smile on her lips. She hadn’t originally planned on getting involved, but if there was one thing she hated, it was watching someone try to cheat her and her associates out of their hard-earned money. “We do have other brokers lined up, don’t we, Captain? So, what’s stopping us from turning around right now and selling all this off to them?”
“Nami, what are you doing?” Shachi whispered behind her, but a signal from Law told him to back down.
“My subordinate is right,” Law replied, wrapping a long arm around her waist, squeezing her side gently in a silent show that he understood what she was doing and willing to play along. “We came here first as a favor to Kimo-ya, since he’s always been so good to me. I wanted to keep our working relationship strong, but if you’re taking over and won’t honor his price, we’ll have to take our business elsewhere.”
“You won’t find anyone on this island willing to pay you better,” Jinzo sneered. “I practically own the black market on these isles. Hell, I’ve got enough clout with the Underworld at this point that I could ensure no one this side of the Red Line will so much spit on you if you’re on fire.”
With a nonchalant shrug, he countered, “Then I’ll just head to the New World and open my trade there. If you’ve got so much influence, then my usual customers won’t retaliate when business from their favorite heart stealer suddenly dries up.”
“And your other appointments will have no issue working with a man who would turn a client in to the Marines,” Nami added with a cat-like smile.
Paling, Jinzo’s entire body went tense. Nami didn’t know much about the organ trade, but she’d wager that the type of people who specialized in buying and selling body parts wouldn’t have much problem with recouping their lost profits from the man who drove away their best supplier. Pirates she did know, though, and they definitely wouldn’t stand for government snitches.
“Perhaps…perhaps I could bump my offer up to 400 million,” he stuttered. “As a show of good faith.”
“Mmm, sorry, but that’s just not good enough,” Nami sighed, twirling a strand of hair around her finger. She was in her element—belli and bartering. When money was involved, she barely even noticed the stuffy heat of her jumpsuit, and the tension in her bones practically vanished. For the first time all day, she was calm and in control. “I mean, we went through a lot to get this gold, and you just threw that hard work back in our faces. Months of planning, injured crewmembers, emotional trauma, transportation fees—it all adds up. We won’t part with a single piece of gold for less than 730 million belli.”
“What?!” Jinzo shouted as Law gave her a curious glance.
Smirking, the thief winked at her partner. “Captain Law was giving a generous discount to Mr. Kimo, but as you’ve so astutely pointed out, you and he don’t share such a close relationship. So, your price, Mr. Jinzo, is 730 million.”
“I won’t pay that! Perhaps I could accept 523 million without the bribe, but you’re being simply outrageous! And I’m not haggling with some rookie upstart’s whore!”
“And just for that insult, you’ve upped the price to a cool 750 million,” Law cut in, voice low and dark, sending a shiver down the spine of everyone in the warehouse. His grip on his nodachi had noticeably tightened, and even a man as arrogantly foolish as Jinzo could tell that he was on dangerously thin ice. “That’s my final offer, by the way. Try to talk me down or degrade a valued member of my crew again, and I’ll not only walk away, but I’ll take your heart and a few other major organs for my trouble. Kimo-ya and I got on so well because he respected my abilities and knew not to play games with the Surgeon of Death. So make your choice: belli or body parts?”
Nami could see that while the guards tensed, they looked more ready to run than defend their employer. It wouldn’t surprise her; she doubted Jinzo was paying them enough to risk getting their hearts ripped out, and if they knew anything about Law’s abilities, they’d know even running wouldn’t do them much good.
Seeing he was outgunned and outmaneuvered, the dealer clenched his fists but finally gave a stiff nod. “Fine. Men, hand over the cash.”
Grunting, three men lugged over five large briefcases. Cocking an eyebrow, Law activated his Room, scanning their contents. “You’re 25 million short,” he said, tone belying mild amusement.
“This is all the money I brought for the next three deals I had scheduled for today! Thanks to you, I’m going to have to reschedule so I can get more,” he snapped with a deep scowl. “My next client in particular will not be happy about that, and I won’t hesitate to inform him of exactly whose fault it is,” he sneered, eyes burning holes into Nami’s skull.
“I’m quaking in my boots. Still, since you can’t pay up, we’ll just keep some of the treasure.” Leading Nami over to Ikkaku’s chest, he opened it, the diamond necklaces and gem-encrusted trinkets twinkling in invitation. “Nami-ya, you’ve got a good eye for appraisal—see which of these can be removed to better match Jinzo-ya’s budget.”
Nodding, she carefully studied the contents of the chest, clever brain rapidly crunching numbers before she finally reached in, carefully removing a small, egg-shaped music box, its alabaster surface studded with pinhead-sized sapphires and spiderweb-thin seams of rose gold. Admiring the craftmanship and beauty for a moment, she carefully handed it to Law. “This is easily worth 25 million.”
With a smirk he shoved the music box into his hoodie pocket, snapped the lid of the treasure chest shut, and activated his Room again, switching the chests in his crews arms with the briefcases full of money in the guards’. “Then it seems our business is concluded.” Turning to leave, he flipped Jinzo off over his shoulder. “Bit of advice, Jinzo-ya; don’t try to cheat pirates, especially those of the Heart variety. It’ll get you killed one of these days.”
Eager to escape the off-putting stench and stuffy heat of the warehouse and hateful glare of the underworld broker, Nami didn’t even mind when Law’s hand settled on her lower back, gently but firmly pushing her towards the exit. Though Law had gotten in the last word, it was obvious that Jinzo’s vitriol was focused on the woman who had managed to nearly quadruple what he’d planned to pay with just a few words. It sent a cold shiver down her spine, which would have been a welcome relief if her stomach wasn’t twisting up in anxious knots.
Once outside and making their way down the road, the Dark Doctor grinned proudly down at Nami. “From now on, I’m taking you to all my business meetings. That was a thing of beauty.”
“Damn straight it was!” Ikkaku cheered from behind them, pumping a fist in the air. “Son of a bitch will think twice before trying to screw us again!”
Jean Bart chuckled. “Wish I’d had someone like you on my crew back when I was a captain—could have bought a private island and retired early instead of getting enslaved.”
Nami shrugged but glowed under the praise, mood further improved by a cool breeze fanning across her heated skin. “Oh, it was nothing special. I did all the negotiations on the Sunny, so I’ve had plenty of practice. When Luffy, Usopp, and I traded in our gold from the sky islands, a banker tried to offer us only 100 million belli, but I convinced him to triple the price,” she said with a saucy wink.
“How the hell was Straw Hat not swimming in cash?” Shachi asked, astounded.
She sighed, brow twitching in irritation. “Half the time he’d leave the treasure behind because ‘the villagers needed it more.’ I mean, he was usually right, but it drove me crazy.”
“Well, you don’t have to worry about that with us!” he said with a grin. “With you on our crew, the Heart Pirates won’t even need the One Piece!”
“Well, I wouldn’t go that far,” Law said. “The One Piece isn’t just treasure—it’s the only way to become King of the Pirates. I’m not going to settle for riches when the ultimate prize is out there waiting for me.”
Right, he wants to be Pirate King, too, Nami thought, frown deepening in concern as her muscles tensed. It’s one thing to help a guy to square a debt, but I can’t help him steal Luffy’s dream! “I’m kind of surprised you guys are still on this side of the Red Line, then—aren’t you worried someone else will get to it before you?” she asked cautiously.
“Nah. With Whitebeard dead, the New World’s in absolute shambles—hundreds of pirate crews are going to sail to their deaths while the Emperors fight over territory. I’ll let those underprepared idiots take themselves out, then cross over when the time is right.”
A small, relieved puff of air escaped her lips. With luck, he wouldn’t take that leap until she was back on Weatheria, though she was now nervous about what kind of chaos she’d be sailing Luffy into.
The cooling breeze vanished as they once more entered the sheltered streets of the shopping quarter. Ushering them off to the side so they wouldn’t draw too much attention from curious vendors, Law finally removed his hand from Nami’s back to activate his Room. Quickly and quietly, he teleported a few wads of cash into each crewmember’s pockets. Weird as it felt, Nami had to appreciate that it was far safer than handing out wads of money where any onlooker could see and pick out an easy mark.
“Alright, I suppose this is where we all head off to enjoy the fruits of our labors. Jean Bart, Uni and I will head back to the ship to get everyone else their share and lock up the rest of the cash. As for the rest of you, avoid fighting unless necessary, stick to your groups, and don’t make yourself a target.” With a smirk, he took Ikkaku’s briefcase before glancing down at Nami. “Enjoy your shopping, Nami-ya, but no ditching the uniform.”
“Good thing you won’t be around to stop me,” she quipped. Without the breeze, Nami was once more close to sweating in her jumpsuit, and despite no longer being under Jinzo’s penetrating stare, the anxious knot hadn’t quite managed to untwist in her belly. Her body was still on high alert, her senses sharp in anticipation, which just made every brush of heavy fabric more abrasive. Without thinking, she grabbed the collar of her suit to fan herself, only to stop upon realizing she was inadvertently giving Law a better view of her cleavage.
“Good thing Ikkaku, Bepo, and Shachi are under strict orders to make sure you behave yourself,” he shot back, tone laced with amusement as he eyed the flushed mounds of flesh, causing Nami to heat up further with embarrassment.
She cursed under her breath. Not only had she basically flashed Law—which he’d probably assumed was her flirting—but he’d successfully backed her into a corner. If it were just one of them, she might have been able to talk her way into a change of clothes, but with all three she knew she was shit out of luck. One Heart Pirate could be reasoned with, but when they were in a group, the captain’s word was law.
Seeing the despairing expression on her face, Ikkaku wrapped her arm around the younger woman’s shoulders, inadvertently rubbing the uncomfortable fabric against her scars. “Cheer up, Nami—Boss is just worried that two stunning pieces of ass like us will captivate the whole island with our insanely good looks. He doesn’t want anyone carrying away his two hottest subordinates.”
The redhead had to chuckle a bit at that, even if her stomach twisted further at being so earnestly referred to as “Law’s subordinate.” It was unsettling how everyone acted as if this was more than just a temporary alliance.
“I’m happy to carry your bags, Nami,” Shachi offered with a boyish grin, hoping to raise the navigator’s spirits.
Law frowned. “Your cast just came off; don’t over-exert yourself.”
“I’ll be fine, Boss! How heavy can clothes be?”
“Well, if you insist,” Nami cooed sweetly, fluttering her eyelashes. With luck, the time she took to try on clothes would be enough to cool her down, and she would never say no to someone else carrying her things. “Thank you, Shachi-kun.”
His cheeks turned as red as his hair and he rubbed the back of his head bashfully. “A-anytime, Nami.”
Glancing over at Bepo, Law sighed. “Anything goes wrong, find me immediately. Marines, enemy pirates, angry mobs with pitchforks, whatever. And don’t let Nami-ya out of your sights. I’m counting on you.”
“Aye-aye, Captain!” the trio shouted as Nami rolled her eyes.
They’re like a bunch of eager puppies, she thought as they led her away, eagerly chattering about which store they should hit first.
Feeling an intense stare, she turned her head slightly to see Law watching her go, a satisfied smirk creeping to his lips. Realization hit her quickly and her entire body tensed up—he was staring at the Jolly Roger on her back.
His emblem. His trademark. His property.
It was the same way Arlong would stare at her, only hungrier.
Unnoticed by her companions, her muscles remained tense even as they walked away, heart pounding so loud she nearly didn’t hear Ikkaku when she asked, “So, where to first?”
“How about the bookstore?” Bepo offered, poking his long claws together.
“Hey, it should be Nami’s decision!” Shachi scolded, to which the bear offered a weak apology.
“The bookstore’s fine,” she choked out, willing her racing heart to calm down. There was no need to panic—Law was probably just staring at her like that because he was a weird pervert who got turned on by people in baggy clothes. Somehow, his anti-nudity fetish was a lot more comfortable than the idea that he saw her the way the Fishman Pirates had—a tool to be used and kept at any cost.
“Books it is,” Ikkaku declared, looping their arms together and dragging them down the winding roads. Luckily, the further they got from the intense captain, the easier it became to breathe, her heartbeat nearly back to normal by the time they entered the bookshop.
The smell of paper, ink, and leather binding finished the job, as it reminded Nami of the library on the Thousand Sunny, and even more of Robin. Looking around, she had to grin at the tall shelves of books that made the store a veritable maze. Robin and Chopper would spend hours in a place like this, browsing and picking out an enormous stack of medical tomes, novels, historic texts, and more to fill the ship’s library with. The memory brought a smile to her face as her anxiety receded like an ocean wave, and the cool, dry air against her skin allowed Nami to regain her enthusiasm for shopping.
“If anyone needs me, I’ll be over by the ‘How To’ manuals and laughing,” Ikkaku called before disappearing into the stacks.
Shachi shook his head, but there was a hint of an affectionate smile at the corner of his lips. “Someone’s really got to tell her one of these days that those books are supposed to be serious instructions, not comedy.”
“But not you?” Nami joked.
“Not a chance. I’m going to grab the latest issue of Sora, Warrior of the Sea, then check out the fashion magazines. The other day Penguin said my hat’s the ugliest thing in existence, so by the end of today I wanna find something so ridiculous he’ll beg me to change back.”
Down to two, Bepo gave a shy smile. “Want to check out the horticulture section with me?”
It was almost physically painful to deny any request for the bear, but there was something she wanted to grab first, and she didn’t need him finding out her guilty pleasure and potentially spilling it to his captain—that jerk did not need any more ammo to use against her. Patting his arm, Nami replied, “I’ll meet you there later—I realized during the long, boring trip from Knox that I was in desperate need of good literature, and no offense, but your ship’s library just doesn’t have anything to my taste.”
“Not even my navigational books?” he asked sadly.
“Oh, those were fine, but I mean reading for pleasure. You know, a good, exciting novel. Without Luffy around, I’m actually starting to miss the thrill of adventure.”
The bear scratched his snout. “Huh. Personally, I like that Law doesn’t take unnecessary risks, but I guess everyone’s different. I can wait while you pick out your books.”
Waving her hand nervously, she insisted, “Oh, no, it’s ok! You start checking out the books on plants and I’ll join you in a bit!”
“But Law told me not to let you out of my sight.”
Exasperated, she rolled her eyes. “I know, but I’m not going to run off or ditch the uniform—knowing my luck, I’d run into him the second I walked out of the store.”
Cocking his head in thought, Bepo finally nodded. “Ok, but you’d better keep your word—if you disappear, Law’ll be really mad at me,” he said, ears drooping and grey clouds forming over his head at the mere thought.
“I promise I’d never intentionally do anything that would get you in trouble,” she said earnestly, provoking a happy grin from the massive Mink.
“Ok! Just don’t take too long!”
Sighing in relief as Bepo jogged off to the gardening section, the coast was finally clear for Nami to creep to the back corner of the store where she’d spotted her prize.
Romance and Erotic Fiction.
Though most assumed she only read cartography books, fashion magazines, and almanacs, in truth these were her guilty pleasure. Running her fingers down the spines of the paperbacks—many sporting a half-dressed woman wrapped in the passionate embrace of a shirtless, unnaturally chiseled man on the cover—she wracked her brain for the list of novels she’d read and which ones she’d been looking for. Her tastes were fairly specific; the setting had to be interesting, the sexual tension palpable, and the leading lady had to be smart and sassy while the men were sensual and mysterious.
“Aha!” she squealed, eagerly plucking the book she’d been searching for from its place on the shelf: To Catch a Turtle Dove. It was about a beautiful and resourceful thief who decided to rob the royal palace but was caught by the dark and dangerous ruler. She’d bought a copy back in Saboady, the first few chapters having captivated her when she’d read them in the store, and she wasn’t going to wait nearly two years to find out what happened. The thief had just made it to the royal ball, and if the intense eye contact she’d made with the lord from across the room was anything to go by, it was worth buying a second copy.
“What are you doing back here?” a voice from behind asked, making her nearly leap out of her skin.
“Damn it, Ikkaku, don’t scare me like that!” she growled as her heart started palpitating again. What was with Heart Pirates and sneaking up on her, anyway? Did Law order them to do it to mess with her, or was it an unconscious habit they’d picked up from their captain?
The older woman looked at the erotic fiction novels around them, raising a dark eyebrow. “Didn’t think you were into this kind of stuff, Nami,” she teased.
A faint blush warmed her pale cheeks, though the teasing tone did calm her down. Ikkaku really was like Robin in the strangest ways. “Shut up,” she grumbled. “A girl’s got needs, right?”
“Hey, not judging—if anything, it explains how you’re able to hold your own against the captain. Most girls swoon at just a few of his lines, but you’ve probably seen them all before, huh?” she said with a wink.
Nami giggled, glad Ikkaku was laughing with her, not at her. “Something like that. Besides, why bother with real men and all their flaws when you can get the same result from a good book?”
“If all it takes is words on a page to get you off, you’re even more repressed than I thought,” Ikkaku sniggered, easily blocking Nami’s indignant punch. “And trust me, men may be idiots, but a good, hard fuck is worth more than any book.”
“I’ll take your word for it,” she scoffed, turning around to pick out a few more paperbacks.
Casually browsing the titles beside her, Ikkaku said, “You know, it’s pretty obvious that the captain’s into you—”
“Nope!” Nami cut her off, cheeks going crimson. “Don’t even suggest it! Ours is a purely business relationship and there are so many ways getting physical with him could go wrong. I’ve got ten months left with you guys, and I’m not putting myself in an awkward position.”
“Make all the excuses you want, but I know you’re just mad that he’s beating you at your own game.”
“Not true.”
“Please, Bepo told me how you managed to give Law that sunburn, and the hickey you came back from the gala with says he paid you back with interest. What’s awkward is watching you act like such a tsundere about it.”
“I’m not—like you said, I’m just a little pent up. A few steamy novels and it’ll be out of my system, without the messy consequences that come with sleeping with your captain.”
“If you’re not going to indulge, at least consider investing in a decent vibrator,” she sniggered. “Because I can tell you, when Law wants something—or someone—he does whatever it takes to get it. If you think he’s a massive tease now, it’s only going to get worse as time goes on, and I’ve seen stronger pirates than you fall at his feet. If anything, those books’ll just make you hornier.”
“You know what, Ikkaku—” Nami started, annoyance and embarrassment making her temper flare.
“Miss Nami, when you’re done, can I get your opinion, please?” Bepo asked shyly, fuzzy white head poking around the corner.
Reigning in her emotions while quickly hiding her books behind her back, she flashed him a smile. “Sure thing, Bepo! Just give me a minute!”
He returned the smile, disappearing back into the store, surprisingly quiet for a creature his size.
With a grin, Ikkaku shook her head and took the naughty paperbacks from Nami’s hands. “Here—I’ll grab these for you while you help our favorite crewmate. I’m sure you don’t want him asking awkward questions about what you’re reading, right?”
Coughing into her fist, Nami looked away bashfully. “Thanks.”
“We’ll finish this discussion later. I saw a flyer for Ladies’ Night at one of the local bars tomorrow. Wanna join me?”
“Sounds fun, but only if you promise to go five consecutive minutes without talking about your boss while we’re there. I don’t want our whole friendship to be based around your matchmaking schemes.”
“And here I thought teasing you was fair payment for letting you steal my clothes,” she laughed, bumping their hips together. “Remember you owe me an outfit, by the way.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Nami laughed before taking off to find Bepo. Despite her teasing, Ikkaku was a good friend. She just really needed to lay off the insinuations that she and Law needed to get it on.
XXX
Three hours and eight clothing stores later, Nami was completely ready to ditch the boiler suit. The boutiques hadn’t been as pleasantly cool as the bookshop even when she stripped down to try on new outfits, and every time she had to put back on that hot, confining garment had felt like torture. Parts had even started becoming damp with sweat, furthering her discomfort. The heat was exhausting, too, yet she still felt anxious, trapped energy thrumming under her skin like she’d drank too much coffee.
The uniform was ruining her shopping experience in other ways, too. Thanks to its completely unflattering silhouette and drastic lack of sex appeal, flirting her way to better discounts was harder than usual. Sure, her cleavage and fluttering eyelashes had gotten her down to 50% off in the shoe store, but the clerk at the lingerie boutique had barely given her 30%! Plus, every time she caught a glance at herself in a mirror, dressed head-to-toe like a Heart Pirate, Jolly Roger grinning at her from her left breast pocket, she felt her scar throb. No matter how many cute outfits she tried on, all she could see was that damn insignia mocking her, declaring she was once more some sick pirate’s property.
“I hate this thing so much,” she groaned, irritably tugging the zipper down to her sternum, hoping to vent just a little more of the heat trapped beneath the thick canvas. “Please, can’t I take it off now?”
“Sorry, hun, but it’s for your own safety,” Ikkaku replied with a frown. She couldn’t understand why Nami was complaining so much; yeah, it wasn’t the sexiest ensemble, but it kept Grimm’s damp chill and the scumbags at bay. “Just hold on a bit longer, then we’ll head back to the ship and you can change out of it.”
The thought of going back to the ship made her whine pathetically. The submarine would be even hotter—she was wholly starting to sympathize with Bepo. Hell, how was he not dying in his own jumpsuit? He had fur, shouldn’t he be suffering just as much?
“Cheer up, Nami!” Shachi said from behind the mountain of boxes he was carrying. His healed arm was certainly being put to the test, but Nami couldn’t feel too guilty—after all, he’d offered. “I think you look great in the uniform!”
“Yeah,” Bepo added with a smile. He had also been roped into carrying the girls’ purchases, the dozens of shopping bags looped around his arms sticking out like colorful wings. “You really look like one of us.”
She froze in her tracks as her heart stopped. “…excuse me?”
“You look like an official member of the Heart Pirates,” he said, cocking his head in confusion at her tone. Surely, that was a nice compliment, right?
“Soon enough you’ll be sporting a tattoo!” Ikkaku teased, not noticing how pale Nami’d become due to the dark shadows cast by the buildings.
The redhead’s blood went cold. She knew they were kidding. She prayed they were kidding. Her hand unconsciously gripped her shoulder, clutching at the phantom tattoo. The mark she still had nightmares about.
“Hey, that’s a great idea!” Shachi exclaimed, certain he’d found the solution to keep both the pretty navigator and their captain happy. If not, hopefully it would make her appreciate the jumpsuit a bit more. “If you got a tattoo, maybe Law’ll ease up on the dress code. We’ve all got one—it’s how we can show we’re Heart Pirates even out of uniform.”
“I don’t,” Bepo pointed out.
“That’s because you can’t tattoo fur, idiot!”
“Sorry.”
Not wanting to deal with an argument between the two males, Ikkaku cut in, “Sounds good to me. How about it, Nami? I happen to know an artist who’ll give you a great discount,” she added with a wink.
“Of course she wants one! The real question is; where should she get it?” Shachi joked. “Law’s got it on his back, and Penguin’s is on his shin. Don’t ask where mine is—at least, not without buying me dinner, first!”
“Tramp stamp. You’re definitely getting a Heart Pirate tramp stamp,” Ikkaku laughed, deviously rubbing her hands together. “I’ve already got the design sketched out!”
Though it was said in jest, all Nami could hear was cruel cackling as she was overwhelmed by the memory of being helpless and in pain, branded by a sick and possessive monster.
“Hold still, human!” Chew sneered as the needle pierced her skin.
“Stop it! It hurts!” Nami screamed, her tiny fingers desperately clawing at the table Kuroobi pinned her down on. His enormous hands easily spanned her entire back, but she refused to just lay there and let them brand her. Tears rained from her large, childish eyes, lip bleeding from the slap Chew had given her earlier.
“Smek. Who cares if it hurts? Quit wiggling around so I don’t mess up.” The clammy, webbed hand on her arm tightened, cutting off the blood flow and threatening to crack the fragile bone beneath as he continued to ink the design.
“Shahahahaha! You should be honored, Nami! You’re the only human in the world to be graced with my mark,” Arlong laughed from his chair, watching her futile struggles like a shark would an injured baby seal. “Consider it your official welcome to the Fishman Pirates!”
“I don’t want it!” she screamed as another wave of agony wracked her tiny body. In all of her ten years she’d never felt such pain, and she was helpless to do anything about it. “Make it stop!”
Kuroobi’s hands pressed down harder against her back, forcing the air from her lungs. “We don’t take orders from worthless humans,” he sneered, blue-tinged face twisting in a sneer.
“It’s for your own good, girl,” Arlong said with a twisted smile. “Someone with your raw talent is a valuable commodity. Pirates the world over are gonna want you—I’m just making sure they know to keep their hands off.” Getting up, he strolled over to the pinned girl with the casual grace of a barracuda in the water. Course as sandpaper, the tip of his finger stroked across her tear-stained cheek. “I’m keeping you safe—after all, you’re part of my crew.”
“Nami, are you ok?”
Pulled from the horrible memory, the navigator stepped away from her companions, russet eyes wide with fear. “You’re not tattooing me,” she gasped. It felt like Kuroobi’s hand were still crushing her chest, and her nails dug into her left shoulder so hard they threatened to dig through the off-white canvas.
“Hey, it’s just a—”
“I’m not letting you fuckers brand me like cattle!” she shouted, fear replaced by fury as she pulled out her Clima-Tact, brandishing it as threateningly as she could despite her shaking arms. Nami was a wild animal backed into a corner, desperately showing her claws in hopes of scaring off her hunters.
The Heart Pirate trio froze, jaws dropping in shock. “Whoa, Nami, that’s not—”
“Quit acting like I’m one of you! Quit acting like I’ve betrayed Luffy! I’m a Straw Hat, not a Heart Pirate!”
“Hey, no one’s saying you betrayed anybody,” Ikkaku assured, hands raised in hopes of showing she was no threat to the young navigator. “We’re just trying to make you feel welcome.”
“I don’t want your welcome!” she shrieked. Cold sweat ran down her back, her heart was racing, and her body was on fire. She felt trapped, both by the people across from her and by the stifling jumpsuit. “I don’t want your fucking tattoo, or your uniform, or—”
“The uniform’s to keep you safe!” Shachi insisted, silently motioning for Bepo to sneak around and subdue her before she hurt herself. He took in her flushed cheeks, ragged breathing and glazed eyes, and his tone softened with concern. “Look, why don’t we head back to the ship? You don’t look so great, and I’m sure if you talk it out with the captain—”
In her panicked brain, she didn’t register that they meant Law, not Arlong. “I’m not going back! I’m not that monster’s property!” she screamed as she blasted a heavy gust of wind from her staff, knocking the trio back hard into a nearby fruit stand. The tower of clothing and shoe boxes collapsed, falling on top of them, and vendors nearby shouted as their carts were upended.
Using the chaos to her advantage, Nami dashed off, ignoring the worried cries of the Heart Pirates behind her.

Disclaimer: I own nothing. Small headcanon based on Sanji’s WCI island backstory. Pairing: GNC!Sanji x Zoro
----------
It was a strange day, a hard day. Things had gone rough for the Straw Hats and tensions were high. Luckily the Sunny was big enough for each member to have their space. Though, it was more difficult for those that shared a single place. Still, Sanji had seen his lover training on the deck so he was sure that he was safe for the time being.
He took a breath as he closed the door to their bedroom but didn’t lock it. He didn’t want Franky to be angry if Zoro ended up slicing the door open out of frustration. So, he simply trusted in Zoro’s immediate need to nap after training.
The cook took a breath as he slowly undid his tie and slipped off his suit coat. He folded his coat and laid it on the bed before moving to his dresser. There was a mirror on the wall that was perfect for what he needed. He just… He just needed a bit of time to escape.
He kicked off his shoes and rested them securely under the dresser. He then slipped out of his slacks, leaving himself in only his silk dress shirt that was a lovely soft teal and a pair of boxers. He took a breath to compose himself before grabbing a key out of the music box fastened to the top of the dresser. He unlocked the top left-hand drawer and hesitantly opened it. Lord knows he hadn’t opened this drawer in so long. The last time he could remember was a week after Fishman Island. It felt so long ago.
He reached inside and pulled out a small black bag. He swallowed thickly and pulled the drawstring loose before dumping the contents of the bag into the open mouth of the music box. Anxiety, unease, and a sudden lack of self-assurance raked through his body as he stared down at the barely used makeup waiting to be applied. Could he really do this? The others were on board. They might see. Enemies could attack at any second!
But he needed this.
He shook his head and clutched at the dresser to steady himself. His shoulders drooped and he desperately forced himself to relax. He took a breath, counted to three, and then released it before grabbing the eyeshadow first. He was not great at doing this himself. He was good with colors, always had been, but the application was usually awful. Still, he pushed that to the back of his mind as he listened to the music box play. Robin had given it to him for his birthday, it soothed him.
As the stiff beautiful music of the rosewood music box played, Sanji felt himself relax and he actually started to smile. The application of the eyeshadow went better than expected. He ended up choosing a lovely blue that brought out the color of his eyes with a tiny splash of purple to contrast. After about ten minutes and several cleanups of smeared makeup, Sanji finally had a look he was proud of. He used a small hair clip to keep his bangs to the side so he could see how the makeup looked on both sides. It didn’t matter that he wouldn’t see the other eye once his bangs were back in place, it felt nice to have both sides even.
He wasn’t all that fond of blush, it was garish on his pale skin. But found he had an affinity for glossy lipstick. He just wished that it was easier to apply. His normally steady hands always shook when he started to put it on. Perhaps it was the rush of emotions that made it so difficult.
He could remember the first time he ever wore any. He was a child, tiny and so pathetically delicate, sitting on his mother’s hospital bed. He sat atop his mother’s lap as she told him to put his lips together as she gently cupped his cheek. She kissed his forehead before looking sadly at his mouth, his busted lip had healed but the bruising was still obvious. So, she gave him one of her beautiful smiles and pulled out her lipstick. She hummed a sweet tune as she applied the makeup perfectly. He could remember her telling him that he could wear it while he visited but had to take it off before leaving.
But that small childhood comfort ended the day she died.
He hid from the comfort makeup brought him. Stuffed it down like so many other things that he felt. He hid behind the masculinity of his naturally male body so that no one could take the memory of her love away from him.
During his two years of training, that familiar feeling he had thought dead suddenly resurfaced. He told himself it was wrong and that he hated it but he could only fight it so long. He sank into the old memories and used it to fight the loneliness he felt being away from the Straw Hats.
Once he was home again he felt the need to stuff it down once more. He had a new romance with his favorite idiot swordsman. His marimo was the most masculine person he’d ever met and very gay. Sanji was sure that showing a more feminine side would lose him the love of his life. So, he hid once more.
But today was too hard, they had almost lost Luffy in combat.
Sanji’s hands trembled horribly now as he tried his hardest to slide the lipstick across his bottom lip. He had barely finished just that lip when he startled suddenly at the sound of the bedroom door slamming open. The sudden sound made him jerk towards that direction as his lipstick fell from his fingers. He couldn’t even attempt to catch it as he stared in horror at what he saw. He was staring eye to eye with his lover. His eyes wide as a strange and slightly concerning look entered Zoro’s eyes.
“Always knew there was something weird about you,” Zoro commented bluntly. His tone, as well as his word choice, made Sanji’s heart sink immediately.
“I thought you were t-training.” Sanji whispered a bit brokenly. He tried to stand tall, not wanting to cry or panic.
“Luffy’s hungry.” The swordsman grunted. He stepped into the room fully and closed the door, making Sanji take a cautious step back. He swallowed thickly, Zoro looked unhappy that Sanji had moved away. Zoro didn’t like cowards.
“Oh.” Sanji’s voice came out weaker than he wanted. God, he wished he had a cigarette.
“So, you’re…” Zoro raised an eyebrow to get his point across.
“What?! No!” Sanji denounced immediately, defenses of denial starting to rebuild. Though, they crumbled quickly at the unimpressed look from his lover. “Well, I-I mean… Maybe. I-I don’t know!”
“What do you mean you don’t know?” Zoro grunted, his face as cold and unexpressive as usual. The sight was starting to make Sanji panic. He couldn’t read Zoro when he got like this. “Shouldn’t you know what you are?”
“I don’t k-know!” Sanji’s voice cracked as he clenched his fists. His eyes started to mist up as a lump grew in his throat. “I-I feel like both. Or neither. I d-don’t know! It’s so confusing. I can't tell which o-one it is!” The building tears dripped down his cheeks as he clenched his eyes shut. He flinched hard as he heard Zoro’s heavy boots walk towards him.
“Does it matter?” Zoro asked with a soft grunt. There was a little sound, like something small snapping. “Normal isn’t a requirement in this crew.”
Sanji gasped softly as he suddenly felt Zoro’s lips press against his exposed forehead. He felt something slipped into his hair before Zoro pulled away.
“Now get cooking,” Zoro growled, walking back out the door and shutting it.
Sanji’s wet eyes slowly slipped open, He raised his hand to his head, touching the thing in his hair as he turned to look in the mirror. A pale blush dusted his cheeks as he smiled shakily when he saw the flower nestled in his hair, knowing it came from the vase on the dresser.
His heart fluttered anew with love as he touched the silken petals.

To Have You Back
So apparently I can’t read, or if I did I forgot, because I totally missed the deadline for posting the OP x BNHA hub event! ;A; Honestly, I almost cried when the mods of @onepiecerphub contacted me. I’m terribly, TERRIBLY sorry!! @askblackleg-sanji please have my apologies alongside your gift! I loved your content and I think you’re a great artist and such a chill person. I’m willing to write you another one to make up for the delay if you want ;w;
This piece has been half-finished in my drafts since the beginning of September, and since my class today was canceled, I took the time for some tweeking and updating to make it more manga-compliant. Once again, I’m really sorry for the delay! No content warning for this that except for innuendo and manga spoilers - but it’s kinda big, so it goes under a read more.
Summary: They finally meet again in Wano. While things may have changed, others are exactly as they should be. (ZoSan | One Piece)
Moonlight paints the ruined castle in shades of silver and black, glossing over the remains of destruction, less of a tragedy and more like a dream. The existent warmth comes from the embers of their bonfire, already dulled by Wano’s insistent winds, only strong enough to create a smaller circle of golden light and heat. They’re scattered around it, wrapped around themselves to keep precious body heat, the only sounds those of a peaceful night after the stress of the afternoon and the emotional tales of the evening.
Still, one of the pirates has not fallen asleep. Despite the tiredness weighing down his bones, Sanji is wide awake, the light smoke of the cigarette and the pleasant twirl of his thoughts to his company. He has never been to Wano before, and yet it feels like home, like belonging. During the dreadful time in Whole Cake island, he has longed for this - for the sight of his asleep nakama nearby, for the safety and comfort of their presence. Luffy’s light snoring to disturb the occasional song of the cicadas, Chopper bundling up with Nami and Carrot to share a cover, Momonosuke laying against Kin’emon, even Torao asleep with that silly hat over his face. After almost giving up on it all, even if for reasons he thought for the best at the time, he treasures it even further, and the quiet joy keeps him awake for longer than he thought that night.
There is the light shuffling of cloth nearby, along with the tinkling of metal as it shifts in its leather band with the owner’s movements. Sanji makes no comment as the green-haired man takes a place beside him next to the dying fire, seemingly too caught up in his own thoughts to care. Zoro lets a long sigh escape his throat as he stretches his tired muscles, knowingly calling to himself an attention that he already had.
“So…. The girl?” The swordsman asks casually, fingers drumming against his hurting neck. His good eye is closed, his silhouette drawn in yellow and black against the fire, a sight that Sanji is pleased to be the only one awake to see.
“Didn’t really work out.” The chef shrugs lightly, taking in a deep puff from his cigarette rather than expanding more on what happened in Tottoland. He needs the calming numbness of nicotine to push it away from his mind, a sign he knows the other will understand.
Zoro snorts, a tiny smile playing on the edge of his lips - the mere sight makes Sanji frown, the edge between his brows deepening with the following comment. “I bet it didn’t.”
“What are you implying, eh?”
“That not even Big Mom’s ugly kid wanted you.”
“Fuck off! She was really pretty!” The blonde huffs, smoke puffing out from his nostrils as he glances beside him in annoyance.
“Oh, was she then? Then why all that trouble of sending Bege and shit to get you there? Like you wouldn’t do a thing for a skirt.”
“You’re wearing one.” The reply is smooth and self-assured both, a playful jab with a not at all subtle hint. He can see Zoro grim with the edge of his eyes, and he knows this means a small victory in their rather particular way of flirting.
“Last time you met a nice lady you got all beaten up. Or did you?”
“I’ll beat you up myself if you keep up with this bullshit, Marimo.”
"Would you?” Zoro’s reply is as sharp as his swordsmanship, an eyebrow lifted slightly in provocation, and in between his words is a promise that paints the tips of Sanji’s ears red.
“I will.” The chef is quick to assure, breathing in smoke to hide his embarrassment as his gaze shifts away, back to the fire, to recollect himself and change the subject. “What were you up to, during that?”
“Was accused of killing some dudes. Had to leave the capitol for that - Torao was pretty pissed.”
“And did you cut them?”
“Of course not. He only wanted Shusui.” He makes a mention to the swords held close to his hip, his index finger laying on the flowery handguard of the dark-bladed treasure. The touch is soft, as caring as he is when they’re alone like this. “They thought I stole this from an old samurai, but it was that creepy shadow dude that got his body and brought him back. He gave it to me after we fought.”
“That was back in Thriller Bark, right?” At the time, it had been terrifying; two years later, Sanji is surprised on how nostalgic it feels to remember the decaying boat and its inhabitants. “Such a long time ago.”
“You’d figure they’d have found out earlier I wasn’t here all that time back. But the attacker himself was the judge, and tried to accuse me of using it against some others, so I cut him down.”
“You cut down the judge?”
“And the building.” Zoro adds solemnly, with a light nod of his head.
Sanji cannot hold it anymore - he laughs aloud, almost wheezing in between breaths. The fingers that hold his cigarette are trembling slightly as they bring it back to his mouth, an effort to keep himself quiet and not awake their companions. It is their moment, and he does not wish to interrupt it. “That’s such a Marimo thing to do. Bet you didn’t even think of the consequences, did ya?”
“What for? I’ll just cut whoever comes my way.”
It takes more willpower this time to hold back the laughs, and he fails to control the smile that insists to come out when he hears such things from dumb Marimo. It feels so easy, so liberating - he envies it, and the feeling comes out the smoke as the cook sighs. “I wish I could be as straight-minded as you and the captain. Sometimes I think about things too much.”
“That’s your fault.” The swordsman replies in the same beat, an accusatory finger poking against Sanji’s temples as he glares at his companion with a narrowed eye. “You and this swirly eyebrow, it catches your thoughts and prevents them from leaving your brain.”
“It what?”
“You’re a dumbass.”
“Says who?? Nothing you just said makes sense!”
“Makes more sense than your face.”
“I’ll put sense in you so hard you’ll remember my shoe size forever!”
“That’s if I don’t cut you up and serve you for dinner first!”
They’re up to each other now, hands on collars, faces close enough for their noses to touch, and it is a miracle the altercation has not awaken any of their companions. Sanji’s long-forgotten cigarette is turning to ash on the floor, a different kind of drug in his veins as he leans closer, the grip on his clothes softening as his lover does the same. The hidden touch of their lips is what he missed the most - the way their tongues seem to meld against each other, to be close enough to feel his body heat and his scent, to dig his fingers into that stupidly soft green hair. He missed those stolen moments in the Sunny, away from the well-intentioned but nosy eyes of their crewmates, and the dance of competition, playful insults and teasing provocations they share in their own pace.
He missed Zoro, most of all, and he has no heart to put in words how he dreaded never seeing him again.
They back off slowly from each other, in between heavy breaths and burning cheeks, fingers intertwined and foreheads touching in the feeling of longing and the thrill of danger. They could very well have been caught, kissing right there where any of their nakama could see, and it makes Sanji’s heart drum faster in his ears with the need of doing it again.
Yet the swordsman backs off, green hair brushing against the cook’s cheek as he moves to lay his head on his shoulder. Almost instinctively, the prince’s hand rises to caress his lover’s hair, long, skilled fingers combing through in a calming gesture. It is only due to the quiet environment that he can hear Zoro whispering against his shoulder, the grip in his other hand tightening. “I missed you. Dumbass. I thought you’d stay with that girl forever.”
“I would never leave the crew. Or Luffy. Or you.”
“Nice to see your level of priorities.” The green haired grumbles, shifting his position to glare annoyedly at Sanji in between long eyelashes. “I come last, eh?”
“Suits you well for how annoying you are.” The blonde teases back, a smirk playing in his reddened lips. His gaze softens despite that, the proximity and softness under his fingertips mellowing his teasing lightly. “You know I’d never truly leave, right?”
“Fucking no.” Zoro buries his head on the chef’s shoulder again, half-hiding from his own embarrassment, half-eager for the closeness. “You’d leave us and marry the girl just so we could all be safe or some bullshit. Stop putting yourself on the line, Swirly Eyebrow. How am I supposed to deal with that?”
“I’m sorry.” Sanji mumbles back in quiet remorse, the echo of Luffy’s words fresh in his mind. I just wanted to keep you all safe, is all he wants to say, but Zoro knows it; he can feel it in the way the swordmaster pulls him closer, in the light huff of anger he lets out. He knows and he hates it, and they will butt heads for this and for so many other things in the days and years to come. For once, Sanji does not want to think of sacrifice. He just wants to stay there for a while longer, to kiss the top of Zoro’s head and whisper: “But I’m here. I’m right here, and here to stay.”
It won’t last forever, they’re both aware of that. As morning comes, their nakama will awake to find Sanji making breakfast and Zoro napping, and think no else of it. But for now, they have this moment - a place to belong, even in the dreadful Wano country, and a memory written in moonlight amidst those ruins.
“......At least I’m glad to have you back.”

Fist Of Love
Sets place after that What If Oneshot Oda wrote where Sabo rescues Ace and Luffy, and the three renew their bond over sake
"From now on we're brothers"
Their renewed promise echoed through the forest where the three brothers stood with proud grins. The wind ruffling their hair in a fond caress as she carried their vows of brotherhood to the heavens.
Luffy had rescued his eldest brother from certain death at Marineford. But had it not been for Sabo to regain his memory and swoop in to save them both, Luffy would have lost another brother (since he wasn't aware that Sabo was alive until the rescue). It was utter relief that had gripped Luffy's heart that had him pulling his elder brothers into a bone crushing.
"You're still a cry baby you know that?" Ace growled like he did in his childhood but it lacked all harshness and contained a fond smile as stroked both of his brothers hair. Sabo chuckled, smiling softly as Luffy furiously rubbed his moistened eyes and gave a halfhearted "I'm not a cry baby!"
The complete bond of these brothers was warm and tender, their minds at rest, hearts warm and souls at peace.
None of them noticed the furious silver haired man who stood behind them with trembling fists, glaring at the trio through the dark haze surrounding him.
"Idiotic grandsons!" Growled Garp the Fist as the trio froze and slowly, oh so slowly, turned around, staring at the sight of their grandfather just as his fists collided with their heads. "Have a taste of my Fist of Love!"
The young men, sorry, boys, were given a generous helping of the infamous Fist of Love by their grandfather who carried on his rant "You stupid. Idiotic. Good for nothing knuckleheads! I told you, you three should have been marines!" Garp growled "But you went off to become pirates and revolutionaries"
"Do you realise how worried I was huh Ace? Do you know what I went through when you were first captured?" His fist flew to the fire user's face "Do you know the utter pain and fear I felt when you were almost executed. Not once, not twice but three times? How I thanked all the sea gods when Luffy and Sabo saved you?! That whole time during the execution my heart pleaded to every divine force that some how I wouldn't lose another grandson of mine"
Garp's fury was then directed to the blond man who didn't even try to dodge the attack that struck his jaw "And you! How dare you go and die like that! How dare you make me think that I had lost my ten year old grandson! How dare you to make this old man think he failed his boys! That he couldn't protect them! And as much as I'm grateful that you saved your brothers but... what the HELL WERE YOU THINKING?! You could have been hit by that magma fist. I get my boy back only for me to bury him again? It was agonising the first time now you want me to do it a second time? Fat chance!" With a final kick Sabo was stuck in the ground.
"Now" Garp cracked his knuckles before turning to his youngest grandson. The Fist struck before Luffy could even blink "What The hell were you thinking?! I expect nothing less from my boys than for you to infiltrate Impel Down, but jumping through the sky into the middle of a war is ridiculous! Were you three trying to get this old man to bury all three of his grandsons in one day?!"
Tears blurred the Vice Amdiral's vision as the poured down his cheek "I have no sympathy for criminals" his gutwrenching words from the execution platform echoed "But for family..." he pulled those boys in an embrace "...I do"
"I love my grandsons. I love all three of my boys. I can't afford to lose any of you. It was bad enough when Sabo 'died' but not again. Never again" his grip tightened "I won't let anything ever happen to my boys again"
"I love you boys"
Three sets of arms encircled the Marine, their faces hidden behind their respective hats as tears streamed down their face
"We love you too Shitty Gramps"

The Proposal| Sanami June Bride 2017 |
Since the very first moment he saw her, Sanji knew. Everything was like slow-motion, him standing there with a bottle of wine, looking for the source of the scandalous laughter. Him, breathless, when he saw her. He had to return the bottle to the table, and, still incapable of mouthing a single word, he managed to come closer and take a better look.
Her short ginger hair, her long eyelashes and big brown eyes. Everything in her was telling him that the most wonderful creature on earth had arrived, that an angel had descended from the sky. Of course, he had to make sure she acknowledged that, and he had to thank whoever made the miracle of her coming into the restaurant with the thing he was best at: cooking. Still, the mysterious angel didn’t even give him the time of day, and in fact, she only made eye contact with him a couple of times. It wasn’t what Sanji had expected, and normally, he would have given up. He was a rational man and he knew when a woman wasn’t into him. But when she looked at him in the eye, he saw so much in that brown orbs that he knew he couldn’t give up on her.
Not even when everyone thought she was a traitor. There was no way he could believe that, and luckily he was right. It wasn’t a lie when he declared that he would stay in the crew partly because his goddess was in it too. From the moment she walked into his life, he knew he would never recover.
Sanji remembered vividly the first moment that thought passed through his mind. Actually, it wasn’t the first moment he ever thought of it, but it was the most significant one. It was after hearing the bells of Shandora, when he was half-recovered from the lightning that fake God attacked him with. The last thing he remembered before the lightning struck him was Nami shouting his name and trying to reach to him. In that moment, seeing her painful expression, he knew.
They threw a big party afterwards, and he couldn’t stop looking at her. She had been drinking, and she had a slight blush due to the alcohol, and an enormous smile on her face. When she came closer to him, he had to blink twice.
“You’ve been staring at me longer than usual” she declared, and Sanji figured out that she wasn’t as drunk as she pretended to be. That, or her senses were more developed that anyone he ever met. “What is it?”
“It’s… nothing” Sanji gulped, and drank all the alcohol he had in the jar next to him. Nami cheered him, and the thought came back to him again.
“There’s that face again” Nami commented “You’re about to say something stupid, aren’t you? I swear the next time one of you idiots make a stupid comment I’m going to charge you.”
This time, he couldn’t contain himself. The words slipped through his mouth before he could stop them. “Girl, I’m going to marry you someday.”
Nami made him pay fifty beris, but she laughed. And that was enough for him. As time passed by, they never mentioned that conversation again. Not even when they started dating. Sanji supposed she had forgotten it. After all, it happened a long time ago.
But he hadn’t forget it, not once, since that they. He couldn’t. The thought kept growing, it became stronger and stronger. Sometimes, when he was lying next to her in bed, he felt a part of his brain shouting: do it. Do it now. You know you want it. You’ve wanted it since the very first time. And every time, he tried to shoo that thought away.
It was harder and harder each time, until the thought won the battle. It was the only thing he could think of at any time of the day. He was distracted, off-focused, and clumsier than ever. It was exasperating trying to fight back, and he was tired. He knew that part of him was right: he wanted it. He has always wanted it. And even if the answer was a “no”, he knew that he couldn’t spend much longer before losing his sanity if he didn’t at least try.
He arranged everything with a little help from his crewmates. Nami had announced before that they were headed to an island, which was just perfect. Robin offered to keep her distracted, and when they arrived to the port, she made sure Nami was prepared for going shopping with her.
It was a little harder getting the permission of the mayor to use the town square to hold such an important event in his life, but Brook did his best to present it as a party and he volunteered to play some music. There are some things in life that light up a small town, and a concert is one of them. Especially if it the performer is the Soul King himself.
By the time the sun set, everything was prepared. Franky and Usopp had managed to create the perfect ring in just a few hours, and he couldn’t help them enough. Chopper found the perfect little box and Luffy did what he does best: running. He ran to Nami and Robin and told them Zoro was lost again, which gave Sanji the perfect amount of time to arrange all the lightning. With the help of the villagers, they put orange lanterns all around the square, and Brook started playing the violin.
When Nami, Robin and Luffy got to the square, with a grumpy Zoro behind them, they couldn’t believe what they were seeing.
“You really outdid yourself, cook-san” Robin commented with a smile, and Luffy let out a little laugh.
“What is going on?” Nami asked, looking into Sanji’s eyes for an answer. Sanji felt like trembling. He couldn’t back up now. He had to do it, he had to shut up those voices in his head. The more he looked at her, still confused and staring at everything around her, the more the voice intensified.
“Nami-san, I…” he started, but he decided to start all over. Without suffixes this time. “Nami. I know this might seem crazy and probably a little bit impulsive but it’s not. Not for me, at least. I’ve known it since the moment I met you.”
He got in one knee, in the center of the square. Just like he had practiced. Brook’s melody was reaching to its higher point, and when he took out a small box from his pocket, Nami put her hands on her mouth. She let out a small “oh my god”.
“Nami…” he continued, only to be interrupted by Nami.
“Oh God you’re going to say something stupid aren’t you?” she rushed to say, and Sanji couldn’t feel more blessed by that single question. She remembered.
“Girl” he said, imitating what he said long ago “Would you marry me?”
Everyone busted into cheers, and some of them even into tears (Franky was the first one, but not the last). Brook’s music was loud and everyone was clapping the couple in the center. Still, Nami hadn’t given her answer yet.
Her mind was blank, and she was unable to process all the information. He’s got to be kidding, she thought. Her brain was rapidly going through all the reasons why that wasn’t a good idea. Being a pirate married couple the first one.
“I am not good at sharing.” She murmured, only loud enough for Sanji to hear. “Don’t expect me to share my blanket with you, to share my tangerine, to share my gold. I just don’t understand how people rush to give things to others, asking for nothing in return.”
Sanji’s world fell down. He felt his heart breaking into pieces, small and sharp. He had told himself he was prepared for the worst scenario, but now he knew it wasn’t true. The “no” was a harsher answer than he expected.
“But I also don’t know how anybody survives in this life without someone like you.” Nami said, placing a hand in Sanji’s shoulder. He looked at her, and when he saw her smile, his eyes started to sparkle with hope. “I can’t understand why and you surely owe me fifty beris for this, but… Yes.”
The last word she mouthed was almost a whisper, before everyone started to cheer again. Sanji needed to be sure.
“Could you please shut up?!” he yelled at the crowd “I can’t hear the answer.”
He turned to Nami again, who rolled her eyes before giving him the answer he wanted. The one he always knew he wanted.
“I said yes.” She said, taking the small ring from the little box and placing it in her finger. “Yes!”
“Yes!” Sanji repeated, getting up and lifting her off the ground. Nami kissed him and they both laughed. When she got back to the ground, Nami stared at the ring.
“You made quite a big deal for such a small ring” she teased him, showing it off. It was a simple, golden ring, but it had a blue little rock in the center. “I’m kidding. It’s perfect.”
“You are perfect” Sanji corrected her, kissing her again. “And now you’re my perfect fiancée.”
