The history of the Disney company is so fucking fascinating and complicated that I could spend the rest of my life studying it.

I hate the company. I love the media. I want it to burn. I was profoundly shaped as a person by some of the art its workers have produced. It's evil. It's beautiful. It's an eldritch horrorterror personified as a charismatic mouse. It's a nightmarish example of capitalist hell. It destroys as much as it creates. It's a flaming trainwreck. I can't look away.

It's the goddamn Elephant's Foot of media studies.

Have you heard of the show "Undercover Boss"? Where the CEOs of companies disguise themselves as entry level newbies to see what goes on under their noses?

I know the show itself is spiced up for TV drama, but I can definitely imagine this premise in a DPxDC scenario.

Picture Bruce Wayne (or Lucius Fox) disguised as a new hire within the aerospace division of Wayne Enterprises, with young mechanic Danny Fenton showing him around.

My mother just got fired effective immediately, today, without any prior notice, for no reason other than the company is doing away with her position and moving it to other workers who are already overworked as it is.

That pulls the rug out from under a LOT, and I mean a *LOT* of things for us. She wasn't even given enough notice to start looking for another job before they deactivated her email.

Pray that they actually pay her her final paycheck tomorrow....And that we're able to find a solution for everything. Including my SIL's baby showers, my little sisters birthday, fixing the car, my little sisters medicine, and just...more that she was expecting to be able to do with her pay raise she got a MONTH AGO.

(Luckily we don't have to make payments on water, or housing. We're good on that.)

I think the Thor+Odin confrontation is portrayed as more . Heroic than it actually is in popular perception 'cause I was like "this sucks actually" but I think it actually sucks in the album too

And it had hurt, to have the means to make a difference and lose it all, to go from CEO to weapon once again, after years in power.

"I know yielding was the smarter choice. But he spends half of the time looking at me like he can't imagine how I survived without him, and the other half seeing only the weapon Oscorp built me into, and it's exhausting. So yeah, things aren't good."
