HYUK DAZED FEBRUARY 2020 INTERVIEW

How was the shoot today?

It’s my first official schedule of 2020, so it was exciting. It sort of felt like waking up from hibernation.

What season do you like the best?

Winter. Since winter will be over soon, each day is precious. (laughs)

Which season do you think suits your voice the best?

I’m not sure, I don’t think it would be summer or winter. So then I guess it has to be either winter or spring?

Last December with the release of “Winter Butterfly,” you finished your <Four Seasons Project>. Was there a reason you released solo songs based on the seasons?

I wanted to communicate with my fans. There are many various ways to meet fans. I thought the way that I can express myself the most sincerely is through music. When I released a song every season, I was able to continuously communicate with the fans for a year.

All the songs are self-composed. When did you start writing songs?

My first self-composed song was “I’ll Hold You.” It was a song I only released online through SoundCloud and Youtube, but luckily a lot of fans liked it. When I listen to my songs, I get excited about composing.

When you’re composing, where do you get your inspiration?

Dramas and movies. After my acting debut, it can also come from the messages and the lingering motives from productions. After I watched the tvN drama <Mister Sunshine,> I wrote my song for summer last year, ‘Way to You.’  In the show, Yoojin, Dongmae, and Heesung all love Aeshin. It’s a love that can’t come true, but all three people want to go towards her. From this, there is the motive ‘the road to you will be my road, my end is you’ and this unfolded into the words to the song. Blindly longing for someone will eventually be a difficult thing.

It’s already been 9 years since your debut. If you look back at the 2010s, what do you think?

In 10 years, of course things change. (laughs) This year, only half of my 20s are left. If I look back, I think that it passed while working really hard.

What do the words “working hard” mean to you?

After I went through a short training period and debuted, I felt a compulsion and pressure that I had to practice more than the other members, so it was hard. I thought that I couldn’t be a nuisance to the members, so after our schedules were over, I headed to the practice room. Even after debut, for 5 years I went to the practice room everyday. Even when I was resting, it was comfortable to rest in the practice room. (laughs) But at some point, it surpassed “effort” and ate away at me. It seemed like it was making even the people around me exhausted and tired. But I would never think that time was bad. It’s just, I lived in that way, so for my remaining 20s, I resolved to live in a different way, more freely.

Looking at previous media and interviews you’ve done, you said you didn’t have certainty or confidence as an artist until 2017. You seem pretty much the same.

Yes, but now I’ve become more relaxed. The biggest difference is that whatever I do, I’ve gained confidence in the things I do myself. Even if I make mistakes, I acknowledge them, and because I can accept them, it puts me at ease. While I’m trying to make music or acting, I’m not really indecisive and I don’t hesitate a lot.

Is it thanks to that? A little while ago, you held your first solo concert. How did it feel to be on stage for over 2 hours by yourself?

Really, I’m comfortable when I’m on stage. Actually, it was hard when I was preparing and practicing for the concert. It can be too much and overwhelming (with emotion). A lot of feelings come and go, but when the show starts and I sing, those sorts of thoughts disappear. The time spent together with the audience, that is happy.

When you do full-scale solo promotions, is there something that’s musically different from previous promotions?

With the group VIXX, because we show a conceptual and active performance, I wanted to show an image opposite to that. Comfortable, calm, healing music. Now, I’m trying to catch both of the rabbits!* (laughs)

T/N: This is a kind of Korean phrase that refers to when someone is trying to do many things. So on top of doing the high concept and energy of VIXX, he is also doing calm and quiet music.

You mentioned it a little bit ago. You can’t leave out the stories in acting. When you are both an actor and a singer, there must be some positives and negatives.

When you’re acting, you need a wide range of experiences. While I was an idol, I was accustomed to restraining myself. It was difficult, but now I’m trying to shed that off. At the same time, I think I can express my emotions more freely than before. Before, singing on stage, even if I was so overwhelmed I could die, I hid it, but now I express that. Looking at it like that, I think the stages (I do) have become more rich and have more sincerity.

Acting and singing, using both of these talents, you have taken up the challenge this time of becoming a musical actor. Your first show <The Eyes of Dawn>, doesn’t have much time left before it opens.

From the Japanese occupation to the division of North Korea, this is a production with a distinct narration with the historical pain of a nation. It’s our history, and if we go a little forward, it’s my story. So I was able to immerse myself better. Actually, before I picked this show, I considered the influence of it and how it could make the fans who came to see me aware of some historical facts. Young fans, foreign fans, people of various ages and races, people that could learn the facts of our history. I thought if only I do well, it could be a good opportunity for everyone.

By the time this musical is finished, it’ll be spring. This coming spring, is there a place you would like to travel to?

Incheon, Ganghwa or a quiet domestic place like Gangnam, Namhae. Make a plan that’s enough for about a week, and I want to just stay in a quiet and cozy place. Just like a resident! (laughs).

It’s the start of 2020, so I’ll ask. As an artist, until where do you think Han Sanghyuk will go?

Of the emotions and messages that I want to express, one point where I can make some sort of outcome is now I really want to become an ‘artist.’ I’m not sure what sort of modifiers I should attach to the word ‘artist,’ but I guess that will depend on what I do, right? (laughs)

Dance Sessions

Summary: When Hakyeon first heard you were teaching at Jellyfish, he doubted your ability. Now, he was attending private dance sessions where he was learning a whole lot more than just dancing.

A/N: requested by the wonderful @chellolaa! This story was a lot of fun to create… there’s nothing better to me than imagining/seeing Hakyeon dance. So it was fun to write it for a change!

Word count: 1846

It was Hakyeon’s favourite time of the day. For many, being up this early in the morning would seem unfathomable. Frankly, if Hakyeon didn’t have a reason to be in the studio at the crack of dawn, he wouldn’t be either. Yet he hadn’t missed a single session with you, and as he stretched his limbs to loosen up for the dance session ahead, he glanced at his image in the mirrors. He looked as excited as he felt.

When you first started dance lessons at Jellyfish, he had been dubious. Of course, he had a lot of admiration for choreographers and within his line of work; he had worked with many of them. Although Hakyeon boasted a career with a lot of self-composed dances for both his team and individual projects, he knew his artistry had been inspired by the talent of others that supported him and VIXX.

Yet you weren’t trained. You hadn’t attended any dance schools or held any credentials either. Hakyeon had wondered why management would hire such a rookie, let alone allow them to teach the idols and trainees within the company. Sure, some of his style had been self-taught but he had been serious about dance from a young age and had put in the long gruelling hours in training facilities. He probably held more certificates in dance than you did. Hakyeon had always prided himself as being someone who accepted all walks of life in improving his career. But he couldn’t fathom how someone like you could benefit him in the slightest.

“Just give Y/N one session,” Ava, his senior coordinator, suggested with a smile. “I think you’re judging too harshly before you know how good she is.”

“I’m all for self-taught styles, but inexperienced choreographers can expect too much and be the answer to injury. Do you really want any of the idols or trainees to be injured?”

Ava smiled knowingly. “I said Y/N is self-taught, not inexperienced.”

That sentence had played over in his mind all day long until he stepped into the studio where your first class was to be held. He greeted the other students in the room before stretching and warming up. By the time you arrived, Hakyeon’s curiosity was piqued. A couple of the students had mentioned they had seen someone dancing in this room earlier on and hoped they were the teacher. And when you placed your things down, he heard the excited murmurs that they were correct.

“Shall we dance?” you asked everyone in the room and smiled brightly. Hakyeon’s doubt eased the longer you smiled at everyone and he even felt himself nodding along.

By the time the class ended, he was exhausted and felt like he’d have to drag himself off to his next appointment with how gruelling it had been. You stopped him on the way out and smiled cheerfully. “I heard from Ava you weren’t expecting much. Today was just an introduction to my style so I went easy on you all. You’ll be back on Thursday, right?”

“That was easy?!” he uttered and you giggled. Something about the sweet tone of your laughter softened his shock. Hakyeon was nodding along before he realised it again. “Sure, I’ll see you on Thursday.”

Over the next month, Hakyeon had attended all the classes you held. There was something refreshing about the way you taught everyone. You were tough on technique and repetition, and he’d always leave your classes dripping of sweat. But he had noticed the improvement to his accuracy as a dancer, and he had even learned several new ways of doing difficult moves in a way that was less taxing to his body. The classes were fun, but they weren’t enough. And when you had suggested the early morning sessions on Fridays before everything else in his day, he had jumped at the chance. Even if it meant he missed out on extra sleep.

It was definitely worth it.

“Good morning, Hakyeon,” you greeted as you entered the studio, looking bright as usual. He never understood how you could radiate so much energy from the get-go. He had seen Ava in the mornings and she was definitely not as alert as you were when he met with you every Friday morning. You placed your bag down and turned to him. “I have a new routine for you. Want to give it a try once we’re warmed up?”

“Oh, did you hear about my next concept dance piece?” he wondered and you nodded enthusiastically. “Well then, what are we waiting for?”

After the warm-up, you went into great detail explaining the dance concept you had thought of, even having drawings to show him of some of the moves. You were a hands-on teacher and he could easily visualise what you had come up with before he even saw it in person. And then when you were satisfied with your explanation, you turned on the music Hakyeon had been given last week to plan his choreography to, and started to show him a loose interpretation of what you had envisioned. It was a masterpiece. He watched in awe, knowing that with his stylist moves leading the dance, the feedback from the public would be very positive.

“Let me add to it,” he mentioned confidently and for the next half an hour you both tweaked the plan until it seemed to satisfy you both.

You grinned as you sat down for a water break, reaching up to high five Hakyeon as he came to sit next to you. “We make a good team. This will be a great dance.”

“An even better one if you perform it with me.”

“What?” you asked, your eyes flashing with panic as you laughed hollowly. “Oh no, I’m the dancer behind the scenes, not the one in front of the camera.”

“You just said we make a good team,” he reminded, smiling encouragingly at you. “Y/N, you’re so talented. Sure, I disregarded your skills in the beginning from lack of knowledge but you are by far one of the best dancers I know. Come on, it’ll be fun! You can’t keep denying my requests to dance together.”

“I’m fine with dancing together with you like this. I don’t need the spotlight.”

Hakyeon frowned. “Why not?”

“Some people don’t aspire for it,” you told him and the smile you gave him was genuine. “I like helping put the pieces together but not being in the final image. That’s where you come in. You breathe life into my ideas and make them happen.”

“I can’t convince you, can I?” he asked sadly and you nudged him playfully whilst shaking your head. “So stubborn.”

“It’s called being happy with what you have, Hakyeon. Besides, if I was to go on stage then I would have to travel and commit myself to just one group.”

“And you like the diversity of other people?” he surmised and you shrugged. It made him curious. “Or do you have a fear of travelling?”

“Everyone has a weakness, mine is flying. I’ll keep my feet firmly on the ground unless I’m dancing, thanks.”

“This dance piece won’t require you to travel, though,” he persisted and you groaned, shooting him a pleading look. “There’s more to it?”

“Promise you won’t laugh.”

He zipped his mouth closed and then smiled at you reassuringly. You let out a short breath before speaking. “When I was younger, I was scouted. I was told I would have my dreams of being a talented dancer recognised. I was thrown into a school for dancing first. They said before I got to the stage, I’d have to improve and listen to others on how I needed to dance. I didn’t like that. Being on stage means I have to do what others want. Hakyeon was in awe by your honesty and stared at you for some time, even after you had finished talking. You shot him an awkward smile. “Why won’t you stop staring?”

“Every time I think I couldn’t admire you any more than I already do, you say something that makes me like you even more.”

You flushed with colour and got up, putting space in between you and him. You then glanced at him warily. “Like or admire?”

“Both,” Hakyeon confirmed, getting up and joining you back in front of the mirrors. He watched you through the reflection and smiled. “Does it bother you?”

“A little bit,” you admitted, your cheeks still coloured. You shook out your arms. “I worry it may affect our working relationship.”

Hakyeon dove in behind you as the music started back up, dancing expertly to the moves you had both created together. Halfway through the song, he reached for your hips and brought you closer. It was part of the dance but with the way he was watching you in the mirror, your eyes widened with surprise.

But your feet kept in sync with his.

“I don’t think it’s going to affect how we dance together, Y/N,” he said into your ear and you sighed involuntarily. “It might actually improve our connection.”

“All those weeks ago when you walked into my classroom, you doubted everything about me because I didn’t have fancy credentials. I’m wondering if I relaxed my boundaries too much around you because you were a good challenge for me.”

You spun around and faced him. Hakyeon stopped dancing and waited for you to speak. You didn’t, simply staring at him for some time. He tilted his head to the side. “Am I no longer a good challenge?”

“You’re still a challenge,” you announced softly, chewing on your bottom lip. “It’s hard for me to not make you the face of all my dances I create. It’s frustrating that I can’t picture anyone else.”

“Are we still talking about dancing?” he asked, shifting closer. You eyed his movement but didn’t choose to step back. Hakyeon reached for your neck tenderly, resting his hand on the side of your face. “Or something else?”

“You never needed private dance sessions, Hakyeon. We both know I came up with the idea so we could dance together like this, without anyone else interrupting us.”

“You don’t actually think I’d give up precious sleeping hours just to dance with you, right? I’m definitely not here every time just because I can learn moves from you.”

“What have you come to learn then?”

He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on your lips. “The Y/N behind the dance moves.”

“And what do you think of her?” you asked breathlessly, watching him avidly. “Is she worth continuing these sessions with?”

“I’m no expert in love, but I’m pretty sure we could both figure it out together.”

“Well,” you mentioned airily, stepping away from Hakyeon and going to grab your belongings. “I guess I’ll see you next Friday morning. I’ll leave it up to you what we dance to next time.”

Hakyeon grinned. “I’m looking forward to it.”

GENERAL THINGS

again, I’ve said it, but they don’t seem like rookies. stage presence? on point. rapping and vocals? on point. dance? AMAZING. they work together super well, and I’ve noticed some rookie groups don’t seem like a cohesive whole for a few comebacks? they came out with predebut dance videos (if you haven’t seen those lemme know and I can post links for you), and immediately it was like hi holy shit these boys are a TEAM

they’re very hard-working, humble, and eloquent. I mentioned it with wooyoung but all of them but so much effort into how they respond to things, they take things seriously? it’s really amazing to see, honestly, it’s obvious they care a lot

they’re gonna be BIG, I think. they’re already gaining ground with popularity, sold out their first US tour only a few months after debut (they debuted in October btw), and they even had to change venues with a few concerts so they could accommodate more people after tickets sold out 

one thing I’m sorta concerned about is line distribution? like this isn’t a huge deal with them as it is with other groups (cough nct cough) but…I dunno, it’s obvious their concept is very rap-based (they’re known for beat changes and drops that kinda hit you outta nowhere? amazing content) and I’m a bit worried that hongjoong and mingi will be overworked. like I don’t wanna compare but idk if you know nct – mark and taeyong get ALL the attention? kq has been doing a really good job of being aware of it and giving everyone chances to shine but I don’t want to see ateez become too dependent on those two and not give vocalists opportunities to show off in title tracks. AGAIN I LOVE THEM AND THEY’RE DOING GR8 BUT IT’S A CONCERN OF MINE LOOKING FORWARD/SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT YKNOW

first place feels amazing.

after the previous week, being not only among the top teams, but being first place feels like validation that working hard will yield great results. but first place also feels like a burden. even though she’s got a new team now, with a new concept, with different roles to play, there’s still that pressure to do well, and become even better than before.

but as soon as she meets her new teammates, there’s a certain dark aura that surrounds her them, of having lost people, of guilt and anxiety about continuing on. and while no one from her team went home that week, she’d grown quite attached to her all of them and was sad that they all had to part ways into different groups, she’s all too familiar with the feeling, having been through the same thing last week after the results of the first group round, so she understands how everyone feels.

it’s hard to move forward when there’s something holding you back, and she wishes there was more she could do for them other than offering advice and comfort when they all huddle up and have a talk about everything.

“this too shall pass,” she says at one point, and as cliche as it sounds, it’s a truth she stands by.

despite a rocky start, things began to run smoothly thereafter, and it has a lot to do with jinsoul’s organizational skills as leader. in all honesty, seola had been worried about the girl at first, seeing the apprehension and hesitation she’d shown after being chosen to lead the group, but in the end, she had nothing to worry about, and tried her best to be a pillar of support for the other girl whenever she needed it, especially during a certain mid-week slump when it seemed she was about to be overwhelmed by everything.

seola, who had become used to camping out in the practice rooms overnight rather than going home, is surprised to find the younger girl still there, surrounded by sheets of notes and lists, deep in thought. she approaches her, addresses her softly, and asks her about her troubles and worries. it’s a quiet, tender moment, with seola offering her best advice and her greatest words of encouragement, seeing all the potential that jinsoul has and all the greatness she’s already shown.

“try not to stress about it too much,” she offers, her legs drawn close to her chest as they sit on the floor of the practice room, their reflections staring back at them in the floor to wall ceilings. “everyone feels the pressure when they’re put into a role like this, but that’s a good thing. that nervous feeling is going to fuel you and then you’ll get to show the world that you’re strong enough.”

in the end, she feels much closer to jinsoul than when they’d started out, a soft spot of fondness growing in her heart for the other girl.

but she’s not the only one.

just like last week, choreography seems to be a sore spot for some of her teammates, and she once again finds herself helping one of her fellow teammates out with it. guanlin is young and energetic, and quite vocal about his distaste for dance, so much so that she can’t help but laugh every time he brings it up. still, she’s a firm believer that no one in this world is a bad dancer, just those who haven’t put in the time to practice.

and she tells guanlin as much as she helps him go over the choreography over and over again, focusing less on making everything perfect and focusing more on making sure he’s aware of his spacing and timing. musicality is especially important for a performance like this where the choreography isn’t particularly demanding; rather, it relies on staying in the pocket, and getting into the feeling of the piece rather than focusing on its individual steps.

“people can see when you’re thinking about what step to do next,” she says, her body going through the motions of the choreography, demonstrating it to him. “try and forget about the steps for a few moments, and focus more on how you feel. or maybe...take on an alter ego?”

she stops dancing for a few seconds, and turns to him with a small laugh. “beyonce had sasha fierce, right? maybe you can be... hm... sasha slay?” she once again bursts out into laughter, shaking her head and bringing her attention back to the choreography.

still, as silly as the name had sounded to her ears, she hopes that some of the advice she’s given him helps him during the actual performance.

just as in previous weeks, the day of the performance comes much too fast, and although she feels as prepared as she’ll ever be, she’s still a bundle of nerves. she can’t sit still at all while watching the other groups perform---her hands are either fidgeting in her lap or toying with her clothes and hair, she’s constantly shifting in her seat, and her leg shakes nervously. time seems to go by extremely slowly even though everything is moving quite quickly and efficiently, and by the time her group is called up toward the stage, she feels like she’s going to explode.

and she does, slightly. “hello! we’re team go go bop!” she exclaims rather loudly as they introduce themselves as a unit, bowing with the rest of her team, cheeks flushed a light pink color once she realizes how loud she’d been. she purses her lips to keep herself from laughing as they find their beginning poses on stage.

the song itself is quite sensual-sounding, so she settles down quickly, falling into the rhythm and feel of the song as soon as it starts. jinsoul starts the song out, and she follows up, her voice clear and charismatic, matching the feel of the song.

어지러운 맘속에 내가 들어가 i’m entering into your dizzy heart 익숙한 듯 부드럽게 네게 번져 가 as if I’m familiar, i’ll softly spread inside

the choreography, too, is a mashup of both performances, staying true to the theme of the episode, as well as a touch of traditional style dancing added in by sicheng. admittedly, seola isn’t too familiar with the latter, but she’d spent several late nights in the practice room going over it again and again, mimicking the lines and movements until she’s satisfied that no one can tell (or, at the very least, would not say she didn’t try her hardest).

낮과 밤이 전부 너야 빈틈 없이 my day and night are all you, without any space left

her next line comes and goes quickly, but it’s done seamlessly from one part into the next. it’s strong and confident, a reflection of how she feels about her own skill level after having been trained for so long. if only those lessons didn’t now come with a dark spot across them.

난 취해 좀 더 취해 i’m drunk, a little more drunk 이 꿈속에 빠져들고 싶어 i wanna fall into this dream 넌 다가와서 you came to me 내게만 스며들어 only to me

as compared to her first line, her lines during the second chorus are a little more energetic, though still quite soulful. it’s at a higher pitch, though she’s comfortable at both, and the choreography during this section requires more energy. she sucks in a deep breath before singing, keeping her core strong in order not to sound breathy during her lines while still strongly doing the choreography. at the end, a slight breath is heard through the mic, though she hopes it to be minor enough that it goes unnoticed.

기분 좋은 밤 넌 원하고 있어 on this nice night, i want you 알아 it’s ok 이제 시작해 i know, it’s ok, let’s start now

everything slows down during the bridge, and she delivers her line with the laid back vibe of ko ko bop, all the while keeping her movements in time with the backing track of shangri la. her expressions are easy, a slight smile on her lips as she looks into the camera, her hands performing impromptu choreography, framing her face as she sings.

다시 눈을 뜨면 when i open my eyes again 내게만 스며들어 you only come into me

her final line is delivered with precision and gusto, wanting it to be memorable as one of the final two lines of the song. she soon finds herself in her final position, chest heaving in and out as she tries to catch her breath, making sure none of it is heard on the microphone this time. after a few seconds, they all shuffle off stage, and she’s stuck in a waiting game all over again.

I know exactly what SM was thinking: American money. Totally failed though so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 😅 Ah, that does sound like a nightmare for Mark. God there's always so much fandom drama, with everyone really, part of the reason why you'll never see me calling myself a Tomoon or Shawol or anything. I'm just not wanting to get lumped in with the drama haha

To be fair I grew up with Star Trek as well, whichever series had Patrick Stewart (Next Generation maybe?) so I hold no Wars/Trek rival grudges.

Past you must be cackling that you have to deal with all the different formats now 😂 Are Onewe albums massive as well? Honestly see when I got Advice, Atlantis, and Don't Call Me all in the same parcel, I thought they'd sent double until I opened them and just went "SM what the hell!" lol

I'm not sure if they brought out the perfume that the album was scented with but they did have a line with one for each member, seems to be for the Lost Fantasia concerts.

9. 199X- Triple H

I’m in love with the concept and absolutely love who the chose for the unit. Hyuna, E’dawn and Hui are a great combination and the album is so retro and I can really dance to it which I love.

8. New Kids: Begin- IKon

Ikon is one of the groups I officially stanned so when they finally came back I was soooooo hype. A lot of people were disappointed with the comeback but I sure as hell wasn’t. I absolutely loved and still listen to both songs daily.

7. Hola Hola - K.A.R.D

I have been with K.A.R.D since the beginning and have been nothing but proud of them. When they finally debuted I was probably the most hype person ever. I even got to see them live and they performed amazing. i love every song on this album.

6. Shangri La - Vixx

So I had to put this in here because I still love it. Vixx honestly makes me weep and this album is the first physical copy of an album I have of Vixx. It’s so calm and serene to listen to and it really relaxes me.

5. The Clan part 2.5: The final chapter- Monsta X

So I feel my boys really should have won an award with this one. This album is great and I was so hyped for it. I listened to it on repeat when it came out and have a physical copy of it. It’s just soooo good.

Favorite song:  I debate between Incomparable and Miss You. they are both great.

4. Brother Act. - BTOB

So anyone who follows me knows I have a mjor weakness for Peniel. He really shined in this album and I love every song on it. Missing you is so meaningfull and I love it so much. I showed my Korean Grandmother the song and the lyrics and it reminded her of my late grandfather and she really liked it. This song holds sentimental value to me.

3. TEEN, AGE- Seventeen

This is the second album of Seventeen’s that I have a physical copy of and I love it. Seventeen hit me with them feels on this one. Clap is so catchy and every unit shined in this. I feel like a proud parent when I listen to this.

2. Blue - B.A.P

I have to give number 2 to B.A.P. I was at school when this came out and I was sobbing watching the mv. I am so immensly proud of B.A.P it makes me so happy to see how far they have come.

So I never really listened to full albums of Taemin’s until this came out. I always enjoyed his music but this is a whole new level of listening pleasure. Taemin has grown so much over the years and the kids that used to bully really are kicking themselves in the ass now. Taemin isn’t just a musician, Taemin is an artist and he really showed that with this album. My mother doesn’t like kpop but she loves everything Taemin has done with this album. Taemin, you are doing great and keep up the good work. I know things are very difficult right now and you miss your brother, but we all love you Taemin and you deserve the world sweetie.

I am really excited to write this because N is my VIXX bias and nobody can deny that sometimes our concept kings really give off that mafia vibe. 

This is based off of a prompt I remember reading a while ago and after some digging I found where it came from, so shoutout to @fanficy-au for the prompt ideas

Also, for future reference, unsub means unknown subject and refers to the suspect in a criminal investigation. I watch way too much Criminal Minds.

Cha Hakyeon

Also known as ‘N’

Is the leader of mafia group known as VIXX, based in Seoul, South Korea

It is a very powerful group, but not very well known; mainly because they stay out of the public eye so that they can carry on their activities without the police being on their case constantly

And although they of course do illegal things

But their main goal is to take justice into their own hands when the law won’t

When the boss retired, he passed the role on to his youngest son, Hakyeon instead of his older brother or one of his older sisters, who all decided to lead normal civilian lives

This caused some tension among the older members of VIXX who thought he was too young and inexperienced, and that they should have got the leadership role instead

This tension was quickly dissolved when Hakyeon showed his capability when a rival gang had managed to infiltrate their ranks

Long story short; he quickly figured out the situation and tricked the spies into revealing themselves shortly before they would have destroyed VIXX from the inside out

These men haven’t been heard from since

This is where Hakyeon became known as ‘N’ as he changed the fate of the seemingly doomed mafia group

(If you didn’t know, Hakyeon came up with the stage name ‘N’ based of the korean word for fate, in-yeon, and the yeon in Hakyeon also took that form)

From then on, nobody questioned his abilities (outright at least)

He has five people in his ‘inner circle’ not including him who he would trust with his life

These are Taekwoon, Wonsik, Jaehwan, Hongbin and Sanghyuk

And they know that despite he cold, stoic persona he puts on when facing the leaders of other groups, officials or lower ranked VIXX members

He is actually quite warm and dorky

He often acts like a mother 

Which often catches many people off guard when he visits one of the warehouses they own and starts to scold the workers for not dressing warmly enough or not taking enough breaks

Thus the nickname ‘N-jumma’ comes about

Not that anyone except Hyuk actually calls him that to his face

Basically, he is last person someone would think to be the boss of a powerful mafia

He loves to dance when he gets the spare time to do so, and is actually very talented at it

He even made one of the rooms in his large house a dance studio, wall length mirrors and sound system included

When not doing paperwork, bossing people around or dancing he can often be found reading somewhere

And literature is the reason he meets you

Well, kind of anyway

You are an up and coming author, already being praised for your amazing mystery novels

They are clever and not cliche driven with amazing storylines and plot twists that nobody ever sees coming

And it is all going well for you

Until you get summoned for questioning by the police

Sitting in an interrogation room with no explanation as to why you are there

Until a detective comes in and tells you why

It turns out that there is a serial killer on the loose

And they are taking inspiration from your books

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse

They tell you that the unsub seems to be obsessed with you; having left notes that he is a big fan of your books and is killing so that your novels get exposure, and they are always signed off with a cursive ‘N’

Which is weird considering you live in South Korea

So that night you go home and try to get some sleep which is hard now you have the knowledge that someone is killing people for you, and that there is a policeman standing outside your door ‘just in case’ the killer tries to get to you

Meanwhile, as you lay in your bed in a restless sleep

On the other side of the city Cha Hakyeon stands pacing his office whilst his inner circle sit, all brainstorming ideas

He has just received the news concerning the serial killings

And it is troubling

He is a big fan of your books as everyone knows

He can often be seen with one in hand and has a shelf in his library solely for them

And apparently knows this and is trying framing him for these murders

There are many people it could be

If he gets arrested for this then that gets him out of the way

And so it could be somebody wanting his position of power

Or a rival wanting to hit VIXX where it hurts, their beloved leader

Of course the police and government know of him and VIXX

But they can never get something solid in order to prosecute anyone because of how they stay so deeply under the radar

But the main thing is that they know that he, Cha Hakyeon, also N

And so whereas before they left him alone because he didn’t cause them much trouble

But now he is a wanted man; for murders he didn’t commit

Knowing the intricate details of the case from one of his inside sources; he knows that you are also involved

And so he decides to meet you

If anyone could find out who was really doing all of this then it would be the person who wrote it all in the first place

And so the next night, he dresses up inconspicuously, and gets Ravi to find your address for him before heading out

Easily sneaking past the police officer stationed by you door and to a window; he climbs through with ease

Turning around he realises he climbed into your bedroom

Which would be fine and all

If you weren’t currently half naked in only a towel and staring at him in shock

Hakyeon’s first instinct is to cover his eyes and turn away like the gentleman he is

You, on the other hand, just got out of the shower after having a long day being interviewed by various detectives

When you got out you weren’t expecting to turn around a see a strange man in your room with you

A very handsome man, yes, and seemingly polite considering the way he averts his eyes from your form

But still a stranger

And so when you get over your shock you go to scream or shout or anything to get the attention of the officer outside

But before you can even open your mouth the man has traveled the short length of your room to you and covers your mouth with his hand

“I swear I am not here to hurt you. I just want to talk and so if you would please keep quiet and just hear me out? I’m going to move my hand now, can I trust you to keep quiet?” he says

You are stood frozen still as he looks into your eyes, a slight pleading look within them and so you slowly nod

And like he said he would, the man removes his hand slowly, making sure you won’t go against your word

He then glances down and realises you are still naked except for a towel and turns red, quickly averting his eyes

And yes he may be a complete stranger who broke into your room and who knows what his true intentions are

But to see someone who looks so intimidating blushing and act like a schoolboy with his crush is sort of....endearing

But you quickly shake that thought out of your head

“Could you, uh, perhaps turn around so I can get dressed?”

A couple of silent and tense moments later you are done changing and you sit down on your bed, eyeing the man suspiciously as he sits down next to you

“My name is Cha Hakyeon. And I am N.”

At his confession you immediately start to panic

“Not that N though! The real N. I’m being framed you see!” he quickly continues, calming you down only the slightest bit

“Remember, you said you would hear me out.”

Not wanting to upset a potential serial killer, you quickly nod your head

And deciding that the best way to make you understand his point of view and agree to help him is to tell the truth; Hakyeon tells you everything

About how he is the boss of powerful Mafia VIXX, about his five best friends, about how he most definitely not the person running around killing innocent people

And you are a writer at heart

You know when things are real and when they are made up

And even though this whole situation feels like it could have come straight out of one of your novels; you can’t help but feel like he is telling the truth

So you agree to help him

Now, Hakyeon can’t keep sneaking past the police stationed outside your door; it’s too dangerous for him as a wanted man

He asks you to join him in his hideout and base of operations

Not his house because it has eyes on it 24/7 in case he returns there

So, making up the excuse that you are going to stay with family out in the country and away from the mess, you go against everything your parents ever taught you as a child and pack your bags and go with him

Over the next week you two stay locked up in his office playing detective

During this time you two get to know each other

You get to know the personality he hides behind the big boss persona he puts on

And in turn he gets to know all about you and your life

You share your favourite foods; songs; colours; animals

You get to see him dance, which is an amazing experience

One day, to ease the stress this whole situation is putting on both of you, you play a game where he has to dance to whatever music you play

At first you choose the usual classical music, then hiphop

But then you start to play kpop songs and wow are you impressed

Never in your wildest dreams would you have imagined a big bad mafia boss dancing to SNSD like it was his own song

You also get to know the other boys

You find the bond between them all so amazing

They are all so close and while they all get on each others nerves, you can see that they would go to the ends of the earth for each other

Because you all become friends in this time, they also start to tease you

Mainly on the feelings that have started to grow for their leader

Sometimes you really question if they are members of powerful mafia VIXX or not

It all gets worse when one night at after a long day hacking into police databases to further your investigation into Hakyeon’s framer, you two fall asleep in his bed together after comparing notes til you both just nod off

And although you fall asleep on opposite sides, you wake up to find your head tucked under his chin and your arms wrapped around his torso

His clothes, the casual wear probably more expensive than your entire wardrobe, are more wrinkled the face of the 96 year old grandmother that lives next to you

Blood rushes to your face as you realise the position you are in

But immediately turns white as you notice that Hongbin and Jaehwan are standing at the foot of the bed, both with obnoxious smirks on their faces

You look back to Hakyeon, and he looks so relaxed in his sleep that you don’t have the heart to wake him which would happen if you moved

So you simply motion for the two males to keep quiet and snuggle back down, making the most of this time to get some more much needed sleep

Neither of you live it down the next day though

You are sure that had it been any other boss then there is no way that the teasing would be allowed

But considering N is a big softy inside he doesn’t do much except scold them, which scarily reminds you of your mother

Finally, a breakthrough in the murder’s is made, and they apprehend the person responsible after an anonymous tip off (yeah, it was you)

Turns out that Hakyeon’s first hunch was correct

The whole thing had been orchestrated by someone with a grudge that had been chucked out of VIXX for being rough with innocent people that the mafia had no qualms with and therefore making a bad name for them

After he confessed to the whole thing, Hakyeons name was cleared

To celebrate, Leo used one of his contacts to book a table at one of the finest restaurants in Seoul

Of course you get invited along

You played a big part in clearing N’s name so even when you denied the invitation, they wouldn’t take no for an answer

And when you tried to use the excuse that you had nothing to wear

Hakyeon presented you with a box that contained an outfit that you are sure costs more than you have earned your entire life; shoes and accessories included

So you had no choice but to go

In the end you are glad you went with the six men because you were in a private room and so had the freedom to drink and laugh as much as you wanted

And it ended up being one of the most fun nights you have ever had

The fact that the food was so nice was only a plus

It’s nearing 11 at night when you all start heading your separate ways

“Now that the whole serial killer ordeal is over, you are free to head back to your own house,” Hakyeon mentions as you arrive back at the hideout

His comment makes you pause in the middle of the hall

You had gotten so used to the being around so many people during your time there that the thought of going back to an empty house and leaving this whole adventure behind felt a little....weird

You had gotten so close to Hakyeon during the times you had spent locked away in his office (get your minds out of the gutter people)

While you knew you weren’t in love; you had only known each other for about 2 weeks after all; you could see yourself falling for him easily

In short, you fancied the pants off of him

Noticing that you weren’t walking behind him any longer, he turns around to face you, only to be met with the feel of soft lips against his

He immediately wraps his arms around you, deepening the kiss, and slowly walks backwards with you, kicking his bedroom door open with his foot

Let’s just say that he really proves to you his dancer’s stamina that night

Come the next morning, everybody knows that you had spent the night in the bosses room

The most used words that day were “about time” and “finally”

From that day forward, you were able to call Cha Hakyeon, the beautiful, bronze skinned god of a man yours

And he called you his

During the hard times, you were there to offer a shoulder to lean on

When he became angry you were the one called in to calm him down as you were the only one not completely scared of him in that state and he would never shout at you

You also write more novels

More romance started to appear in them as well, to the surprise of everyone who had read your previous books

Your best selling one just so happens to be about six good men doing bad things while keeping the bromance alive

And while your life will never be easy or perfect when dating the boss of one of the most powerful mafia

It is totally worth it to be able to go home after a bad day only to see Hakyeon in his expensive silk pajamas greeting you with nothing but love in his eyes

I started writing this and then got sidetracked watching their Weekly Idol episode again so I lost my train of thought in the middle kinda.

Skin Talk [VIXX, Leo] ||1||

Characters: VIXX’s Leo || OC

Soulmates au inspired by @animeotakupooh / @vixxscifiwritings ‘s soulmate au “Your Words on My Skin” as well as the discussions we had while she was writing it.

General concept :  In a world where the marks on your skin also show up on your soulmate’s.

Warnings : trash writing after a long time

Length : Two-shot

It started off bizarre when at the age of six or so, coloured streaks resembling marker marks appeared on his skin. He found it fascinating to be honest, the nonsensical green and red patterns that criss crossed over his arm, belly, and even his legs.

"My, your soulmate is a messy baby, Taekwoonie!" His mother claimed when he displayed this sudden phenomenon to her.  She had suspected his soulmate to have been born somewhere a year and a half ago when she spotted random birthmarks appearing on her son's skin all of a sudden, only to fade over the day. There would be new doodles every day, colours streaking across his skin and Taekwoon would gaze at them with fascination. The marks would fade over the day and new ones would appear the next. Sometimes he would doodle on his skin and wonder if the person on the other end could understand what was going on. Not that his doodles had any shape or form. Over the years, the meaningless scribbles on his arms took form and shape. Often circles, spiralling over his forearm. Sometimes, splatters of paint or ink, sometimes it was  thin scrawls written with a pen.

 Minah would wait, blinking at the empty spaces of her skin, waiting for some formless patch to appear like magic. Sometimes she felt like she was the only one talking; scribbling endlessly onto her skin, waiting with bated breath to get nothing. Oh, but the days the marks did turn up, she squealed, happy to see some oddly shaped monster (or rather, Taekwoon’s attempt at drawing a puppy) painted on her skin. Sometimes it would be to-do lists, odd observations, some days it would just be a pen squiggle appearing on her arm. It was random, strange, and infrequent.

 At fifteen, Taekwoon found the doodles on eyes on his forearms a little odd. He felt like he was constantly being watched. The random anime character names made him chuckle, but the little star on the edge of his wrist, that, he found very sweet as it stared back at him, dark in contrast to his pale palm.

 She smiled when she saw another small star appear right next to it. It reminded her of the fact that even if she felt alone and insignificant, at the tender age of eleven, there was always another star to help her shine. She pressed her lips to the star, smiling, knowing that she wasn’t alone.

 Taekwoon groaned in pain. This time the injury seemed to run deep and he was worried that his dreams of becoming a soccer player had been crushed. He sighed unhappily as he looked at the bruises on his body. The doctors had insisted that he stay in bed till he recovered, but boredom was killing him and all he could do was listen to the few tapes he had and stare at the ceiling.

 Then they appeared.

 The little bandage doodles appeared on every bruise. He blinked, following the lines that showed up taking the shape of a bandaid. His soulmate was watching. His soulmate knew. His soulmate was trying to help in their own strange way.

 Taekwoon  let out a laugh as tears pricked at his eyes and a small heart was scribbled right next to the biggest, most painful bruise. And all of the sudden, Taekwoon felt like everything would be okay.

 Taekwoon panicked when the skin around his eye purpled all of the sudden. There was no pain for certain so he knew that somewhere in the universe, something had caused his soulmate to injure themselves. Moments of panic were put to rest when he saw a scrawl appear on his forearm, written hurriedly. His first message from the person who was his soulmate.

“Sorry! I dropped the showerhead on my face by accident! I promise I’m not a punk! :3”

He let out a laugh, reaching for the marker on his desk to write out a “take care of yourself, silly.” right under the squiggly writing on his arm. He grinned when he saw “Thank you! I will! <3” appear right next to it.

They did write to each other frequently. They didn't know how to work this system out. But some days, Taekwoon would wake up to a “have a nice day”written across his palm. Some days he would wake up to lovely poetry written across his thigh.

 One day he woke up to  bruising on the back of his hands, the injection marks, and the single word “ill” written on his wrist which sent him into a worried frenzy. It was followed by silence for months as he wrote prayers onto his skin, feeling the anxiety and sickness that his soulmate was feeling. It reminded him of how close they were wound together and all he wanted to reach across to hold onto the warmth he could feel fading into the distance. He didn’t realize he that his heart had tightened, wound up, till the day the words appeared on his skin. The strings of his heart loosening, filling his lungs with air that he didn’t know he had been missing.

 “Thank you for the prayers, I am better now.”

 The familiar handwriting caused a wave of relief to spread across his chest.

 “Do you think soulmates can be friends?”

They had finally started talking, scribbling little notes to each other on their arms. Sharing enough and yet not knowing who the other person was. Somehow the anonymity gave them comfort.

 So when this message suddenly turned up in the middle of the night. She frowned, realizing she had never thought about that. But how much would a fourteen year old think when her major concerns was to get through school while her soulmate’s was to navigate through the beginnings of adult life?

 “I suppose. I haven’t really thought about it.” marker ink blotches on her skin.

 “We’re friends, aren’t we?”

 “Of course we are.”

 It wasn’t till months later that she woke up to a single bruise on the side of her neck. She gazed at it, baffled, poking it to see if it hurt. Sure, she had seen her share of bruises as well as her soulmate’s share of them, but this one was odd. She pulled a pen out of her pocket and shifted the sleeve away from her arm.

 “You have a bruise on your neck?”

 There was no response for hours. She sat there, staring at her arm, waiting for some sign only to be interrupted by a hiss from her sister.

 “Kim Minah! You’re fourteen and too young to be getting involved with someone!”

 She turned around to gape at her sister who was pointing at the said bruise on her neck and ranting furiously.

 “Involved?” she blinked “this isn’t mine though.”

 Her sister paused, blinking “clearly your soulmate is an ass.”

 Taekwoon stared at the scribbles on his wrist as they appeared in rapid succession.

 “Since we are friends, when were you going to tell me that you were seeing someone?”

“Because I have to go around explaining the hickey on my throat.”

“My sister thinks you’re an ass.”

“I don’t even know what to think.”

 “I didn’t think you’d understand...yet.” he began slowly, feeling his heart sink. Sure the girl he had met was beautiful and sweet. They had courted for months and yet...it just didn't feel right when she kissed him. It was deeply unsettling the way his heart simply rejected her acts even though his body tried to reciprocate it.  His soulmates was too young. He wanted to protect his soulmate.

 “I understand you think I'm young and probably don't understand relationships.” the words stung as they appeared “I don't mind you liking someone else...but please don't break my trust by not telling me.”

Taekwoon stared hard at the words as they faded off his arm knowing that his soulmate had wiped them off.

 It was hard not to talk to each other even then. Their souls were far too intertwined with one another to truly hate. Taekwoon had been apologetic. Sufficiently so, he hoped. He knew that his relationship with his classmate wouldn't work out because every time they spoke, he felt awful. She was wonderful for certain, but beyond the pleasantries, something just didn't click.

 “I broke up with her.” the cool metal of the pen nib scraped against his heated skin. The ink spread over in small blotches, following the pattern of his skin.

 “Is she alright? Are you alright?” came the response, clearly written with a thin marker.

 “Yeah, something just didn't feel right.”

 “Well, you always have me.”

 “How Exciting.” he chuckled, knowing that on the other end his soulmate was furious.

 “You're a real pig for someone who is going through a break up and is supposed to be my soulmate.”

 “But you're stuck with me.”

 “I wouldn't want it any other way :)”

 “Who the hell is Han Sanghyuk and why is my soulmate constantly talking about him?” Taekwoon grumbled. His sister looked at his arm, covered in scribbles, chuckling at how excited his soulmate was to be hanging out with someone with so many similar interests.

 “Awww our little baby brother is jealous!”

 “Everyone thinks we're dating, It's hilarious how we're the talk of the town though!” Taekwoon gritted his teeth as he read “how has your singing been going? I hope you're going to audition for a nice company who doesn't try to kill you. I'll  come for your fansign when you make it big. I promise.” And immediately he was smiling.

 “What if I fail and become a vocal coach?”

 “I'm  signing up for your classes.”

 Taekwoon grinned, picking up his marker to respond.

 “Although I promised I'd sign up for Sanghyukkie’s dance classes too.”

 Taekwoon was grumpy again.

 Even after the many assurances to Taekwoon that she was not dating ‘that giant lump of human!’ Taekwoon was still being a pouty and annoying child. After all, his soulmate was seventeen and there was absolutely nothing he could do to stop her from liking anyone, considering his own past. But she was his soulmate damn it!

 The worst hit though came months later when Sanghyuk had the audacity to write “Property of Han Sanghyuk.” Right below her shoulder. Minah had sufficiently slapped his hands away considering the two were not on romantic terms. She was also in the middle of her “I am not property, I am my own person!” rampage. He chuckled, holding the Sharpie away from her as she tried to snatch it from him, calling him several expletives. But all of the sudden he paused, gaping at her arm as a big red cross appeared across his name and three letters appeared beneath it.

 Minah's arm now read  “Property of JTW”

If SJM Characters were Kpop Groups

So I know a lot of people are starting to get into Kpop, AND I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED ABOUT THAT. But I also realized that a lot of times that interest is limited to one or two groups. So to expand people’s horizons and to have some fun, I am going to compare some of SJM’s characters to KPop groups (both boy and girl groups). Now I realized that these groups are big name groups. But I will be listing a bunch of other groups that I listen to that may not be mentioned at the end of the post.

*DISCLAIMER: I am not saying these are the best groups out there and to only look at these groups. These are just the groups that I am most familiar with because they are the ones I follow. And I am always willing to talk about this more or about other groups. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO SPREAD FAN WARS SO PLEASE DO NOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Celaena/Aelin

So I know this is not a girl group, but AELIN IS BIGBANG !!!!!! BIGBANG is a group that has powerful individual members, but when put together, their music is insane. Sometimes the music is cold and depressing, but other times their music just makes you want to rage. They utilize so many concepts that make no sense, and you have no idea how or why they came up with them (A LOT LIKE AELIN’S PLANS). But once they do them, they work. And like Aelin, BIGBANG is a group that everyone looks to. Like G-Dragon and TOP, her fashion can be out there, her dedication is impenetrable, she knows anything about everyone and everything is connected to her. Like Taeyang and Daesung, people don’t always understand her and a lot of times judge her. But like them, she does not let that stop her, she, like them will rattle the stars. And finally, like Seungri, Aelin likes to show off, she knows how to imitate people, she has a lot of plans, and she is insane.

Dorian + Chaol 

Dorian and Chaol are different in that they have lived vastly different lives. But I cannot help but group them together because of how close they are. They have been with one another through thick and thin. Always looking out for one another. Never willing to leave the other behind. Both are stubborn, willing to do whatever is necessary for the other’s survival to happiness. They are each other's rocks. And because of their dedication to each other and what they stand for I see them in TVXQ. TVXQ had five members, but at some point three of them left, leaving the last two to keep going. Those two members, U-Know and MAX (but really no one calls them by their stage names) genuinely love one another. They stand together, look out for one another, love each other and support one another. They are brothers. They have disagreements, they are very different in personality, they tease each other. And yet they have stood together for decades now. They are Chaol and Dorian in that they are Kings.

Lysandra + Aedion

Lysandra and Aedion have both been through hell. Lysandra was made a prostitute at a young age. Aedion was called Adarlan’s whore and went to war before he was ever ready. They both lost family, they both are people who are loved by everyone, and they are the ones that can decimate the world. Thus, it only fits to give them EXO. Now, EXO is definitely one of Korea’s top Boy Groups. They have a huge following, they are always willing to go above and beyond for their fans and one another, they have incredible talent (be it dancing, singing, acting or visuals). And they have been through hell. Within one year after their debut, EXO lost three members, 3/4 of their Chinese members and thus basically their whole EXO-M. But after that, they came back stronger. Much like Aedion and Lysandra. After they went through hell, they came back fighting. Ready to take on the world. And they, be it EXO or Lysandra and Aedion did.

The Cadre 

The Cadre is Super Junior. If only for a few reasons, one because they are amazing and everyone loves and reveres them. Second, because they are an older group but still can fight with the best of them. Third, because they are CRAZY when together, making insane comments and throw one another under the bus ALL THE TIME. Fourth, because they would do anything for one another, it is the type of group that they can make fun of one another, but no one else can make fun of the members. Or in the Cadre’s case, go to help one another in a battle even if they might be whipped later on for doing so. Fifth, because members leave and once they leave, SM (their company) DOES NOT WANT TO TALK TO THEM EVER AGAIN (ahem, Maeve)  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And sixth, because the youngest makes the lives a living hell for his elders (I’m looking at you Fenrys)

Rhysand

SHINee. So SHINee has five members, Onew, Jonghyun, Minho, Key, and Taemin and each of them has different traits that perfectly encapture who Rhysand is. As a group they can be serious, initially viewing one another and their work as merely a way to do what they want. But as time has passed, they see one another as a family. Onew, like Rhys is clueless at times, but he also has a great ability to instill leadership. Jonghyun and Taemin like Rhys work hard at everything, putting 110% into everything they do. Minho is like Rhys in that he can be extremely competitive, he will do anything for his members. And Key is like Rhys in that he is a fashionista, he is a mama bat, and he takes no shit from anyone.

Feyre

Girls Generation (a.k.a. SNSD). Feyre is relatively new unlike SNSD, but even still, they are so fucking great. Like SNSD, Feyre has many different personality facets. She is sweet and sugary, can coat on the misogynistic BS when needed just like the SNSD girls can. BUT WHEN THE TIME COMES !!!! Do not underestimate them both SNSD members are savage, they are cutthroat, they know what they want, and they are not ashamed to work for it. Furthermore, SNSD members are like Feyre, in that they have seen and been through a lot. Both the women in SNSD and Feyre had thrived and succeeded when so many things were going against them. And now, they both reign over the world.

Cassian + Azriel 

Cassian and Azriel started at the bottom. They were pretty much left to die in the war camps, disregarded as another bastard. Now, when comparing them, I could only think of one group that was in a similar place (definitely not as severe), where because they were not from as big of a company and because they started off with entirely different music they were kind of ignored in some ways. And that is BTS. Now, I know a lot of you have heard of BTS because of how strong they are now, but when they were starting out it was not like that, anything but. And without their hard work and dedication, they would not be where they are today. Much like Cassian and Azriel. Without their love for one another, without their fighting and outlook on life and determination to not fail, they may not of become who they are today.

Amren + Mor 

Those Queens are hard as fuck and to match them, I had to go with 2NE1. Now, 2ne1 has since disbanded, but their music is fantastic. They have crazy good vocals, stage precesnse, personalities and wow do you fall in love with them. But not only that, they stuck by one another during all the scandals, during the disbandment and they still love one another to this day. And for Amren and Mor, women who have fought on killing fields, dominate in a male-driven world, have impeccable taste in fashion and are insanely strong both emotionally and physically, I had to say they embody 2NE1, and vice versa.

After that day things slowly went back to normal; Junmyeon and I mostly saw each other in passing, but he was normally running in and out of the house for whatever reason, the guys weren’t giving me those judging looks anymore but they were keeping there distance.

“Why are you sitting all the way over there Baek?”

“Because Junmyeon might kill me if I get any closer...”

“What?”

“Your his girl, Y/N...like not just-.”

“We had sex, we didn’t discuss that...now scoot over, Gears of War is waiting for us to kick ass and take names.”

You would think the way everyone was acting and talking, that Junmyeon had marked his territory...

“Are you men or animals? I’m trying to figure this out?” I questioned walking into Junmyeon’s office without knocking.

“I’m not the one who forgot the basic concept of knocking...so you tell me?” he remarked.

“Oh I’m sorry your majesty,” I snarked, walking out of the room, knocking and then walking back in, “Are you men or animals? Still trying to figure this out.”

“Depends of the situation,” Minseok smirked.

“This question doesn’t apply to you, Minseok...I already know you’re a ass,” I stated.

“Don’t you two start, I seriously don’t want to hear it today,” Junmyeon said, rubbing his temples, “What seems to be the issue, Y/N?”

“Why does everyone keep walking on eggshells around me and acting like you marked your territory?” I questioned.

“Can I say something?” Minseok questioned.

“I really wish you wouldn’t,” he replied, “The guys just have a healthy respect for the fact that you are my girl and-”

I held up my hand to stop him. “I love that you talked to me about this ‘my girl’ stuff.” He looked at me like it should be obvious after what went down that I should be good with what was going on, but all I could do was scoff and shake my head. “Unbelievable...I’m your fiance by a piece of paper, there are trust issues between us, and trust is earned...not fucked out of someone. I don’t care how mind-blowing it was. I’ll be your girl...when you earn that. I told you, I’m not going to be your emotional play toy.”

Before either of them could say anything I turned and left the room, slamming the door behind me.

“Did she basically tell you that you had to earn her?” Minseok questioned.

Junmyeon ran his hands over his face. “I’ll deal with her later...what did you find out?”

“The detective involved is actually working with one of t Lee Changsun’s middlemen...seems not everyone is exactly thrilled with the dealings that are taking place,” Minseok replied.

“Really? Never would’ve guess...” Junmyeon stated, “How closely does he work with Mr. Lee?”

“Surveillance from the past couple of weeks says that if he went missing the detective would probably thing he backed out or was killed and vice versa with the Lee Mafia...” Minseok replied, “Do you know what you want to do?”

“We’ll grab him...tonight...” Junmyeon replied.

~Y/N~

“And in conclusion, I am not his girl and unless anything is stated as to the opposite I do not want to hear the words ‘his girl’ come out of your mouths....I will kick you so hard in the balls your grandkids will feel it...any questions?” I said looking at the seven men that I was staring down on the couch.

Sehun cautiously raised his hand and I smiled at him. “Yes Sehunnie?”

“What does boss have to say about this?” he questioned.

“I-”

“He says if you put your thoughts in the gutter when your around her you’ll lose your most important body part,” Junmyeon said walking into the living room, “Now everyone out, we need to go to the warehouse.”

“Yes, boss...” 

Everyone except Yixing darted for the elevator and they packed on as many as they could at a time. Sipping his tea, Yixing looked amused at the six younger men who were trying to escape the penthouse.

“We’re going on a job...keep your phone on just in case,” Junmyeon said to Yixing.

Yixing gave a slight not and Junmyeon and Minseok headed to the elevator. Looking at Yixing I crossed my arms. “I am not his girl....”

“I completely understand,” he said looking over his cup, “However...”

“Don’t do the ‘however’ thing...it’s never good coming from you,” I stated.

He chuckled. “However...you do remember who he is...right?”

“Unfortunately...”

“He finally just gave in and he’s not going to let you go...he’s not going to let anyone or anything take you away from him. And remember...I heard just about everything that day...are you really that disappointed and angry that he’s claiming you after that?”

“It was just sex...it was mind-blowing but it was just sex...why do you all keep using that against me?” I questioned.

He looked up at me. “Tell me...has Kwon tried to contact you since you slept with him?”

“Yes...why does that matter?”

“Between the time you and Junmyeon ‘just had sex’ and now have you made any attempt to contact Kwon or even think about replying to him?”

“Well...no I haven’t really even thought about it, I guess...” 

“Mmhmm...and since you had sex with Junmyeon have you thought about wanting to sleep with Kwon again?”

“.....no.....”

“But you’ve thought about Junmyeon, right?”

“So?” I questioned, “That. Doesn’t. Mean. I’m. His. Girl. That means the sex was amazing? You done?”

“Yeah...I guess, I should stop messing with you,” he said, “Don’t want you getting upset with me.” As I turned to leave I heard him chuckle. “And I wouldn’t want you going and telling your daddy on me...”

“I’m going to pretend that you of all people didn’t bring that up...”

As night fell we sat outside a house that only had a couple of lights on. It wasn’t a huge house; if Junmyeon had to guess there were at least 2-3 bedrooms. Didn’t really surprise him though, this man wasn’t very far up on the totem pole. He would have money, but not anything to boast about.

“Just about time,” Minseok said, pulling out his gun. It was Junmyeon, Minseok, Chanyeol, and Kai that would be going in. The others were close by in case anything were to go down, but four would be enough for this.

When their chosen time came, they exited the car and headed up to the house and to the side door. Chanyeol kicked it open surprising the man that they were looking for and another. 

They drew their guns and they stood there as Junmyeon walked into the room.

“Suho...what brings you here?” the man questioned before looking at the other guy, “This here’s the guy who I’m told might be my new boss.”

“The only thing you’re useful for at this point is information and shark bait,” Junmyeon stated.

“I don’t got any information that I can give you...Mr. Lee, maybe...but none to spare to you...” he stated.

“Uh huh...I-”

“Dear, have you seen my-what in the name of god is going on here?!” a woman yelled, started as she walked into the kitchen to see what was happening.

“Just some associates...” the man said, “Go back in the other room.”

“None of your other associates have ever done this!” the woman said.

“None of them have ever been shot three times because someone was giving information to the cops,” Junmyeon stated.

It got deathly quiet in the room and then the man laughed. “Is that what this is about? The information was basically useless and the detective did nothing more than run with it...all I did was give him a little push in the right direction.”

“And this detective...since you seem to care less...does he happen to have a name?”

“Not one that you’re getting out of me,” the man said with a smirk.

“Is that so?” Junmyeon questioned, “Tell your wife to go back into the other room...”

“I am going no where! I want all of you out of my house!” she yelled.

“Go in the other room!” the man said.

Junmyeon walked over and held his gun up so that the man was looking straight at it. “Tell me what I want to know and your wife won’t have to mop your brains up off the floor.”

“You’ll never get the Lee Empire...” the man said, “Even if I told you there will always be one more obstacle in your way....Cops, VIXX, BIGBANG...it will keep slowing you down.”

His grip on the trigger tightened as Junmyeon scowled. “You’re right...I’m never going to get anything out of you...” The man momentarily thought he had won until he saw the smirk on Junmyeon’s face. “I have no use for you.”

As he pulled the trigger there was a scream from the woman and she ran over and pushed her husband out of the way. Junmyeon was momentarily stunned but snapped out of it as bullets began to fly between EXO and the two men.

Finally after both the men were dead, Junmyeon walked over and checked on the woman. “Damn it...”

“She jumped in front of you boss...” Chanyeol said.

“I know it’s just-”

“Mommy?”

All four men froze when they heard a tiny voice. Looking over Junmyeon saw a small boy, probably only three years old, standing in the doorway to the kitchen rubbing his eyes and clutching his blanket.

Before the boy could get a good look of the chaos in the room Junmyeon went over and picked him up. “Don’t look, buddy...don’t look...”

Honestly, it would have to be Tendae off of Bobby’s solo album (even tho I love that whole album, omg)

Teaching in a foreign country, definitely (or teaching, period)

5. Which new artists did you discover in 2017? Ummm too many to list lmao

6. What do you love most about your bias’ personality? I’m gonna be completely honest, I’m pretty sure I have four ult biases and I wanna put them all here, so I will lmao Number one is, of course, Minsung; he’s a little bit quirky, cute, and also sassy as hell, he’s got an amazing voice, and my my man can d a n c e. RM has been my bias since day one, he’s got all the qualities that I would absolutely l o v e to have - he’s a good leader, he’s sweet and caring, but also has a playful and carefree side. Minghao looks all sweet and prince-esque at first glance, but he’s a straight up savage. Literally, for weeks, all I could think about was him yelling ‘imma’ at Soonyoung on the Yang and Nam show (is that what it’s called?? I think so), but he’s also a sweet baby and I just??? am in love with him??? Last but not least, Bobby from iKon is the literal love of my life, I absolutely love him and his music to death (Love & Fall is my all time favorite album ever). He’s like a big child, he’s sweet and playful, loves to joke around, but is serious when it comes to the important stuff. Also, I do have other biases that I absolutely love to death, but I don’t want to make this any longer than it already is lmao

7. How did you get into Kpop? Back in 2015, I listened to BTS ‘Dope’, because it was in a dance cover video, but I didn’t get into kpop then. Then, early last year I was watching a video (don’t remember what it was, tbh) and finally said ‘screw it, I’ll go watch some of this kpop stuff’ and here we are lmao

8. Do you have any kpop merch? If so, what do you have? I have 16 albums at the moment (Seventeen, Astro, Topp Dogg, Day6, Vixx, Got7, Monsta X, BTS, Block B, Jonghyun, Bobby, and G-Dragon), along with all the photocards and standees and things that came with them, and a ton of posters. 

9. What is your favorite concept/era of your favorite group and why? SEVENTEEN’S CLAP ERA. Teen,age is literally my favorite album by them so far, and Clap era was a total blessing

10. From your favourite group, who would you want to be best friends with and why? Honestly, I think that it would be either Bobby from iKon or Joshua from Seventeen. I feel like Bobby is the opposite of me, and I think that we would mesh pretty well and be able to hang out and laugh a lot. Joshua, on the other hand, is on the same wavelength as I am, and I think that would make me more comfortable with him over anyone else.

Youngjae omg, we have so many similarities it is actually SCARY 😂 I relate to him the most out of any idol! I also have a lot of similarities to Chan, Changbin and Felix of SKZ, I’m kind of a mix between the three I have been told that’s pretty accurate 😂

I wanna say Chan just because we can both communicate 😂 no but since we both have Insomnia I can imagine us staying up until really late listening to music and just having a good old time 🥺 and since he likes cuddles I’m not refusing them either 😂 I would hang out with Youngjae too though cause we could just be blobs of oversized hoodies together and I just feel like the whole day would be filled with giggles 😂
