Rating Detective Conan Movies' Portrayal of Kaito KID- Part 4.5

Lupin III vs. Detective Conan: The Movie

This will be a short one because 99% of his scene belongs to Lupin.

I find it funny that people still use this image of Lupin as KID in edits as if Kaito is a bad boy smoker.

The movie showcased some of the best Kaito KID animations ever seen. Too bad it wasn't really him.

The real Kaito has a few seconds of screen time, but it's still nice that they included him. 7/10

Is it just me or is it a little agitating to see Choso of all people to be interpreted as an innocent soft boy?

Choso was a villain, until he met Yuji. That doesn’t change who he is? Its just a little peeving to see communities ignore how strong a character is.

When he thought he killed Yuji, he basically had a panic attack and also that fight was harsh and aggressive. Choso isn’t an innocent man, not always anyways

He loves Yuji, but as a Choso fan, I wish more people would allow him to be… masculine I suppose? To let him be strong and not on his knees for the Love Interest in fanfics or things like that. I’m not saying its odd for him to be romantic or nice, but c’mon man…

Miche’s death is one of the worst in the show.

It was already going to be hard considering he’s a pre-established character and it was the first episode of the season, but how it goes down is incredibly grim.

They make a point of calling out his skill before his encounter with the beast titan, saying he’s second only to Levi, and every time we see him he’s resolved and skilful and bears a grim determination. Seeing such a character not only caught out at the last minute after taking down multiple titans in an impressive display of strength, but so scared that he can’t even talk, is completely gut wrenching.

And then he keeps fighting. Even when he can’t walk and he’s lost his gear, he keeps fighting, which makes it so much worse. It’s a reminder that no matter your skill, your rank, your spirit, you still end up dead sooner or later.

Not to mention the death itself is so visceral and gory and you can see his tears amongst the blood.

One of the strongest characters was reduced to nothing, built back up, and literally torn apart.
