i dont remember anyones names so this is gonna sound partly unhinged. okay so the edward norton playwright and jason schwartzman actor (not character, in the black and white parts) are lovers right. tbh i thought this was kind of a gag and forgot about it. but later we find out that the playwright died 6 months into the production. i didnt make the connection that THAT’s why the actor-jason has to suddenly leave the stage and freaks out backstage about how he’s not sure he’s Doing it right. hes not talking about acting!! because he himself is literally grieving his lover while he’s playing a character who’s grieving his wife written by his lover so obviously it’s too much!!! actor-jason is trying to find meaning in his death through his writing but there isnt any meaning in death [gerris drinkwater voice] which is what the play is trying to say anyway. he doesnt think he’s performing grief right even in his own life!!! (and tbh it’s the 50s so he wouldnt be able to perform grief publicly anyway!!!!) the play starts with a car accident… anyone would search for some hidden meaning there, some sign…. so when he talks to margot robbie outside it’s not really about finding the CHARACTER’s motivations it’s about the actor himself being able to process the playwright’s death! and adrien brody director was probably also dealing with that too (him and norton seemed to be good buddies) so the whole “sleeping backstage” thing gets a bit sadder maybe? maybe everyone else got this in the theatre and im just stupid lol but crazy making stuff to me!!! the whole story is about sublimated gay grief that cannot be expressed?!?!

the tweet that caught me onto this was here which posits that the playwright’s death was a suicide but i think that’s pretty stupid and unnecessary because the whole thing about the play asteroid city is that death is random and meaningless. im pretty sure that’s what the alien represents— a shocking and absurd event that isnt outright evil or menacing, not something anyone can predict or make sense of, it’s just a thing that happens to you out of nowhere, it doesnt mean anything. he’s a little black figure, he’s death! giving and taking! aagh

sorry im gonna go full on hater mode here because oh my god? oh my god

i’ve got a sneaking suspicion that this came out now as damage control for the AI thing because 1. it wasn’t included in the game all along like BATIM’s archives were and 2. this tweet

like was it thrown together in such a rush that they forgot a whole ass character?

or it is a joke and was a planned action half a year after the game came out but eh who knows

either way this is not what i’m here to rant about (cuz im sure this is gonna turn to a rant)

it’s about bad writing, bad exposition and bad game design. buckle up!

i see what they mean with the smile being a challenge to create, you can see in countless animations for fansongs how different artists tackled that and for one i think they did that very well

however. why the clothes exactly? is it just a meta reason with no reasoning in-universe whatsoever?

and look i’m not a fan of the ink demon having a voice (though i respect the craft behind it, the voice actor is very talented, it’s just a personal preference) BUT if you made the ink demon talk you should by logical extension either make toon bendy talk as well or explain why the hell he’s talking? i can see it being distracting but there are characters that have squeaky annoying voices in games and they’re fine (and it’s not like toon bendy is around the player for a super long time)

i dunno what logic this whole thing operates on anymore but if joey commissioned the ink machine then it should be his and arch gate got all his shit after he passed away so idk what retrieve is supposed to mean here

but it could just be badly written sentences and the archive is full of those (once again making me think that the thing was done in a rush)

2020 Indy 500 Prank

Some pranks are done and forgotten almost instantly. Some become sagas, stretching out over days and weeks, past the actual race. Here is one of those.

The Indy 500 in 2020 was delayed until August due to the pandemic. But this did not deter the pranks from happening. The Off Track with Hinch and Rossi episode where this was discussed is not easily available anymore but it was a good listen.

August 19, 2020 Alex Rossi, despite having a bus, does not sleep at the track except for the night before the Indy 500 and perhaps the night before qualifying. He’s said he prefers to sleep in his bed at home. This fateful morning, he was sent a pic of his bus.

He went PitFit, the gym many drivers use, and immediately accused James Hinchcliffe of being involved, going so far as to demand Hinch’s phone so search his texts for evidence. He found nothing.

As per Hinch:

“I’m standing in the gym, minding my own business, and Alex walks up in right behind me, gets really close into my ear and just goes “You’re fucking dead,” said Hinchcliffe, who needed “the better part of an hour” to clear his name. His innocence sufficiently was proved after allowing Rossi to look at various text conversations with Andretti Autosport employees.

“He was like an angry girlfriend,” Hinchcliffe said with a laugh. “‘Show me your phone!'”

With Alex’s tweet, news of the prank had spread wide and far, and it was a huge topic of conversation, both online and in interviews at the track. With Hinch cleared, Conor Daly was the next prime suspect, along with Colton Herta. Alex told all of the crew members (and likely anyone else who would listen) that he suspected them. This caused Conor to panic and he called Colton, not knowing that Alex was with Colton and listening on speakerphone. The conversation went as follows.

"Aw dude, how'd he find out," Daly asked Herta. "He knows it was us."

"Yeah, man," Herta replied. "He came into the engineering room and he looked right at me and said he knew it was us. And I didn't know what to say."

"Well, did you tell him?" Daly asked Herta.

"Nah man," Herta said. "But I'm not a very good actor."

Alex, now knowing that Conor was his target, attempted to procure Conor’s keys.

Rossi learned Daly would be on a date that night but didn’t know the woman or have her number. They talked after he reached her via an Instagram direct message, but she was unable to find Daly’s keys.

So Rossi went to the restaurant where Daly and his date had dinner and received permission from the parking valet (who was a friend) to search Daly’s Tahoe — fruitlessly — for the keys.

Rossi later learned the keys were in Daly’s right front pocket.

“The moral of the story was I couldn’t get the bus keys,” Rossi said. “I did everything I possibly could and couldn’t make it work.”

Conor also hid his golf cart somewhere on the grounds of IMS, no doubt aided by his stepfather, track President, Doug Boles.

Alex attempted his revenge, aided by Colton. This also failed.

Conor attempted to defend himself with this tweet.

and went on to threaten to release Conor’s phone number.

Someone else, in a tweet now deleted, DID release Conor’s phone number.

The next day, Tim Durham, producer of Off Track with Hinch and Rossi decided to join in, aided by others, releasing the first few numbers of Colton’s social security number. This was not as dire as it sounds as those numbers are based on location and year of birth and apply to millions of people and can be deduced by knowing those two pieces of information, which for Colton, is public knowledge. It’s the last few digits that are the true identifiers so Colton was never in any real danger of identity theft as Tim and the others likely did not even know the rest of the digits.

The prank faded into the mist at this point, nearly forgotten until 2022, when Alex finally got his revenge. But that is another story.

like you mentioned, acting coaches are so common because actors aren’t born knowing everything and also it’s always good to prepare to improve your performance. i actually love noah takes his work seriously enough to be working with an acting coach, it shows that he cares about his craft and wants to gives the best performance.

i think it's twitter and youtube (i think it was you who i talked to about a yt commenter being a dick to me because i had the gall to ask why there was no forcebook footage in the last bts?😒). and yeah, even with p'jojo's explanation for why it was cut, it doesn't matter because mew was at that level of anger throughout the episode anyway. all it did was take something away from foxmochis and topmewists when we're literally begging for crumbs. and like you said!!! we're not bashing any actors, we're not complaining about screentime, we're not making shit up about the story or the characters - we're the ones who have been having a good time, even when there are characters that we hate, it's not the story that we're complaining about.

and honestly, i never thought i'd say this... but i do recommend getting a twitter account. i got mine just to lurk and see what forcebook was up to, but i've gotten in the habit of sending them tweets about how much i love them every now and again when i see something heinous or am just thinking about them. they get flooded with shit they don't deserve, and honestly? it makes me feel better too, knowing that i'm pushing back against the wave. who knows if they see it or understand it, but at least it's out there.

if they didn't need all the support they could get, i'd probably stop watching at this point (or at least pause), because it feels like we're being fucked with at this point and that our voices and viewership don't matter :( but they need us! gmmtv isn't going to do their job, so we have to do it for them!

im happy theyre out there! ive seen some of their fanfics & it seems like they have rly good content. im happy there’s an audience of fans anywhere and i hope amc is mindful of the global reach this series has. but i hate that they have to deal with the same old issue of antiblack fans tho. if the twitter translate button is correct, one of the users observes how the majority of the antiblackness toward amc louis& jacob in the korean fanbase was while season 1 aired which is something very similar that happened in the western / english speaking fanbase.. someone dug up the old casting announcement of jacob as louis back in august 2021 and the tweets was just so hateful and just confirms what another one of the users said in that tweet thread u sent me & something ive been saying for a long time. people thought making louis black was some “political correctness” or “woke” or whatever code word they use decision, when the showrunners went out of their way to preserve the fundamentals of louis’s dark human past by making a now black louis a brothel owner+ a pimp. i really do think this is just motivated by pure racism, bc brad pitt himself even said he hated playing ‘the bitch role’ & didnt even read the script when he took the job much less read iwtv or any of the books to try to get in character.. whereas jacob anderson poured his heart and soul into his character louis , read the scripts , the book iwtv & took a deep dive into the whole vc. and u can see the difference in the effort each actor gave in their respective movie / show.

if you're referring to this tweet, the one who wrote it is actually the actor who plays nueng's uncle, and we know from the trailers that he isn't happy about his nephew taking over the business as head of the family, but is actually coveting that title for himself and his son. im not saying this is enough of a reason not to believe his words, but it does put things more in perspective: the man is playing the main villain of the show, and putting on his 'character voice' to promote the series can be a good selling technique (in another tweet, for example, he introduced perth as his son). it's definitely a great way to fuel the discussions around the show and keep people guessing about what is or isn't gonna happen

scooby doo 2002 still holds up after all these years i was like 11 when it came out but being 32 I can appreciate more after getting into scooby and watching trainwrecks like . im sorry mystery inc i just find that show so annoying from the stupid explanations to how the monsters do inhuman things/ the main cast in general / the movie they felt like friends that loved eachother even after the breakup. in MI it feels like they just tollerate eachother.. im on season 2 so i feel i have a right to say it doesn't hold up to tumblrs nostalgia for it. but the scooby movie def does. and i dont even like the writer for it i think hes a freak after reading those tweets but the actors are having fun and you can tell want to be there. so I can enjoy it for the acting esp the one for shaggy whoisdingnftsughh .. but oh well.. its a good movie 8/10 Mystery inc 4/10 .

The CGI for Scooby/ Monsters is also not so bad .. like dear god the ones for disney are UGLY AS SIN.. here there kinda cute at least i thought so.. scoob looks a bit weird but its 10 times better than lifeless disney CGI characters.

re the pedro pascal thing, i do also feel like... idk the customer service allegory is a good way to frame it but i don’t for a second believe that pedro is bound by the same customer service rules as actual customer service minimum wage workers are. like if you shut down customers for behaving badly, some workers particularly in america risk their income (tips) and their actual jobs. pedro shutting people down if he’s uncomfortable with the daddy shit is not gonna stop him from being able to work or get an income because there is no part of his job that requires the equivalent of being nice to customers i.e. interviews and media relations. like yeah you might get more famous if you do it but there are plenty of actors out there who don’t do interviews and public stuff and are still successful in their own right.

When he left X for good, he missed the opportunity to communicate with some fans and respond to the hate, but he didn’t do it. When they criticized his appearance, he could have said, “Guys, I’m an actor” and blah blah, and he could have done the same for all the other criticisms or hate, but he didn’t do it so as not to touch on the elephant in the room, which was the fact that he used his influence to promote Felícia’s career. Because promoting her was more important and he lost a lot because of that. Her career, even with all this protection and connections, will be tarnished forever by this story.

honestly, I think Rome leaving is just how network tv works? I saw a tweet saying that they have characters come on as recurring and then based on chemistry/how well they work in the show, there is the possibility of being bumped up to regular, but its not concrete or for sure? so it must be that the writers/ execs/ Andrea didn't feel like he meshed well enough or could do much more on the show? its the way Miranda and Hanaka started as recurring and then they were bumped up to regular? I guess it really all depends on how well the writers feel the chemistry is. I know everyone is really upset, which makes me sad, but I trust the writers! I mean they knew well enough to know that Miranda had to become a regular because of how well she worked so, maybe they have a plan? I think it'll be okay!

yeah i get not all reoccurring actors will be bumped up to regulars. i guess im just upset that they spent so much time with gibson and giving him a whole backstory and having him bond with carver that it felt like he did fit in really well with 51. and i know a lot of fans felt the same way, they loved him and wanted to see more of him because he did have so much potential. andrea was so excited to bring rome on that im just having a hard time understanding why she’d get rid of him so soon.

and tbh, if writers didnt feel like a character fit well into the firehouse, carver wouldn’t have lasted as long as he did. i love him now but in the beginning it was really hard to like him. with gibson, i love him straight off the bat and he just had such a compelling background that i wanted to learn more about him.

and romes chemistry with the cast seemed to be so good from the bts we saw, especially with jake and miranda. and he’s said how much he’s loved working with the cast and crew. so it’s not like rome didn’t fit in with the cast either. granted, i understand that we don’t know everything happening bts. but from what we saw, he got along really well. i just want stability with truck and gibson brought that for me.

i’m so glad miranda and hanako were bumped to regulars because i can’t imagine the show without them. but even then, im not sure i can say i trust the writers. they have the tendency to bring in characters and drop them without giving them a fair chance. i loved mason and then he got replaced with carver, and what happened with clark back in season 2/3? he just kind of quietly left to take a lieutenants position somewhere else. then we had chilli and borelli. i wasn’t huge fans of either of them but they didn’t last long either. it just feels like with mason and gibson, two characters who i loved so much, just didn’t get the time they deserved. and i just want to understand how andrea went from being so excited to having rome to writing him out in 6 episodes. he really seemed like such a good replacement for gallo. but now we have to sit through another truck member who’s apparently going to cause drama for stellaride. i just want a truck member who has compelling stories to tell and who’ll stick around and i honestly believed gibson could’ve been that guy.
