God damn I really want to see the other side that Chris was right in vendetta but watching again (I need to note details better for my Leon breaks his spine fic) and no. Leon does not owe anyone shit. He is not being selfish wanting a break.

He isn’t even drowning in pity, this is a full on ptsd break. He is not mentally well in the Colorado resort. The entire time they are talking to him he isn’t talking like himself. Something is wrong. He has a history of suicidal thoughts (noted in 6) and he is telling Chris he is stuck in a loop he can’t escape. This should tell Chris Leon is likely to be reckless and harm himself purposely in battle. This is not how someone talks when they are sane and can consent to go shoot zombies.

You know how it’s argued Chris shouldn’t have been dragged back to the field in 6? This is the same thing!

The Kennedy report exists for a reason, it was a highly detailed account of los illuminados. You can’t even argue Chris wouldn’t have access because yes he would! He is super high ranking himself! And if he couldn’t because plot reasons, he knows several hackers who could get it in seconds.

Oh well Leon knew about the terrorist attacks—- yeah? He works in the government? Chris couldn’t talk to Helena who is just as high in DSO ranks as Leon? Leon being apart of something that gave him a mental break doesn’t mean he’s the only one who knew of it.

This has nothing to do with information. I stand by it. Chris just doesn’t trust people not in his circle of friends and this was a Chris thing.

There was no reason for Chris to have made Leon’s mental state worse and there was no reason for Piers to drag a mentally unwell Chris back into the fight.

Both are true. It’s just with Leon, Chris wasn’t being forced to bring him into this, Chris is just unwilling to reach out to other allies because of his own paranoia (and maybe he wants to bang Leon, that’s up to you shippers).
