this is xue fangfei. daughter of a small town magistrate. married a poor scholar for love against the wishes of her dad. this turns out to be a bad, bad, bad decision because he ends up burying her alive in the mountains sometime post-marriage. :)

this all happens in like ep 1, we're just getting started.

xff ends up being rescued by jiang li, who is the prime minister's kinda-sorta-exiled daughter. jl has been stuck in a kinda-sorta-nunnery in the mountains for the past 10 years because of her evil stepmother.

i'll skip past all the other bits because there is a bit of a backstory about what happened to jl, but long story short!! jl dies (kinda-sorta-because of xff). xff decides to get justice for both herself and jl. her plan is:

1. become jiang li 2. go back to the capital 3. ?????? 4. profit make everyone pay

this is xiao heng a.k.a. su-guogong (the translation is duke su but it sounds weird to me so i'm going to stick with su-guogong). he chances upon xff while he's trying to catch a criminal.

xff, who is in the process of executing her Escape Plan, decides eh, any way to escape will do and lets s-gg arrest her to take her back to the capital for interrogation.

(yes, this is wang xingyue who played zhang zhe in kunning palace. yes he looks a++++++ in this show. i am obsessed.)

side bar, counsels, for a bit of very important information -

su-guogong recognises xue fangfei!! he knows 100% that she is not jiang li and that she is going to cause some chaos. he is Committed™ to watching this drama play out.

ANYWAY. this is the loose premise of the show. it's been fun to watch, and i'm enjoying this a lot!! why should you watch the show?

wang xingyue looks so good in this!! the fans? the capes?? i am obsessed!! everyone in the costumes department deserves a raise.

the story moves quickly and doesn't really drag on. so far, it's been nothing complicated and interesting to watch - i wouldn't say this is a plot-heavy show, just a v good 宅斗 for now, but i'm only like 10 eps in.

the torture my ex-husband who murdered me by showing up in front of him and saying all the right things to remind him of me and the fact that he killed me is so good - normally when this happens, the person looks nothing like their former self, but!! xff's looks haven't changed!! so she's just out here going - hi i am jiang li now and oh btw do you know how cold it is in the mountains where you killed me :)

look i'm......intrigued by this whole shen yurong (ex-husband) and the zhang-gongzhu storyline. i want to see how this whole thing plays out!!

a v enjoyable drama!! this is a 爽剧 for reals, like all the plot points get wrapped up and we get a few cute snippets into their happily ever after!! i'm a bit :/ about the way the last few scenes were done in ep 40 (the side character deaths??? extremely unnecessary 🙄🤬 actually the whole war scene was unnecessary but i'm not complaining too much because it gave us That Scene), tbh the whole thing looked more OE leaning BE than HE to me, so the 番外 was quite important to me!! glad we got that!!

shen yurong and zhang-gongzhu both turned out to be so much more interesting than i thought!! a+++ villains, v well-written, and both actors played them beautifully 👏🏼

still an 8.5/10 rec tbh, started strong and held my interest the entire way through

This is gonna sound really silly, but I have these two off switches that like immediately shut me down. Wish Rewrite

I have this tendency for rewriting material I either don’t like or think had wasted potential. At the time of writing this, Wish hasn’t come out in theaters but I did pirate it as there was an early screening. I also read the junior novelization and bought the concept art book. Needless to say, I was disappointed by what I read/saw.

I feel like Wish could’ve been better. Granted, the story and characters are not terrible, but they certainly leave much to be desired. This is literally Disney’s 100th anniversary, yet it doesn’t really feel like it. Not only that, but the movie felt incredibly rushed. Yeah I know that most Disney movies try have a run time of 90-100+ minutes, but I think a few more minutes could’ve been added to this film.

So, I decided to indulge myself and outline some changes that I think could’ve made the story slightly better. These ideas are by no means perfect, and in the end, this is all in good fun.

Spoilers ahead btw

The main story of Wish is essentially that Asha wants to get a job as Magnifico’s apprentice so that her grandfather’s wish is granted. But Asha finds out about the King’s true nature, and after questioning him, doesn’t get the job, and Magnifico vows to never grant Sabino or Sakina’s wishes.

Asha makes a wish on a star, and the star comes down, Magnifico tries to hunt down the two of them, he uses an evil spell book to create a staff, Magnifico destroys some wishes, Asha gets help from her friends, they sing a song to defeat Magnifico (I ‘wish’ i was joking), Star gives Asha a magic wand, and all is well.

Oh, and Amaya is… there.

It’s nothing complex, pretty cut and dry. And I don’t have a problem with a simple story! But this feels like it’s… missing something.

Firstly, I’d change the title. Disney already has a boat called Wish, and not every movie needs to be one word like Tangled, Frozen, and Brave (amongst others), so the story could be renamed “Asha and the Wishing Star” or “Asha and the Kingdom of Wishes”. Idk, something that evokes a classic fairytale book feel (or that does confuse people with a boat).

((Side note #1: I honestly enjoy that the story started off with a book, as a nod to classic disney movies, especially Snow White. That was cute))

Secondly, and I know I sound like a broken record at this point…

AMAYA👏🏼SHOULDVE👏🏼BEEN👏🏼A👏🏼VILLAIN👏🏼ALONGSIDE👏🏼HER👏🏼HUSBAND👏🏼

The original plan, according to the concept art book, was to have Magnifico and Amaya to be a villain couple who were partners in crime and owned a black sphinx cat named Charo. However for… reasons, the creators took the ‘safe’ route and made Amaya the good one out of the two.

But the problem is, by erasing Amaya’s evilness, the creators of Wish essentially removed any purpose or personality she may have had and thus, she was left to become a literal ‘supporting’ character. First supporting both Magnifico and Asha, then leaving Magnifico to prop up solely Asha.

Deadass, you can literally remove Amaya from the story and nothing would change. Which is probably why she was exempt from much of the promotional stuff minus the dolls. Because she literally serves no purpose but to be… there.

So, in my version of Wish, Amaya would be a co-conspirator to her husband and yes, I’m adding Charo too. Her personality would be inspired by classic female villains such as the Evil Queen from Snow White, Lady Tremaine from Cinderella, and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.

Vain, glamorous, cunning, and unabashedly evil, Amaya would be the Morticia to Magnifico’s Gomez, the brains to his brawn. She’s the girlboss, he’s the wife instigator. Magnifico spoils Amaya rotten with countless gifts and praises, whilst Amaya is the more calm and collected evil compared to her husband’s ever-growing temper.

While she starts the story with no magic, Magnifico just can’t leave his wife hanging and shares the power of the evil spell-book with Amaya. And yes, even Charo gets in on the fun, turning from a small house cat, to a massive shape-shifting beast who breaths blue fire similarly to a dragon (shut up i think it’d be cool)

Magnifico and Amaya essentially keep the wishes of Rosas locked in the castle as a form of obedience. By giving the citizens false hope, it makes them more dependent on the royal couple, and the two have more power over everyone.

Anyways, let’s get to the main characters: Asha and Star.

I don’t have much of an issue with Asha’s character, more so her design. I already made a post showing my redesign of her, so that’s out of the way. Tbh tho, I also have an issue with the rest of the costume design of Wish, being a big costume nerd myself. The movie’s supposed to take inspiration from the Mediterranean, primarily places such as Spain and Morocco (and the Amazigh people for Asha), but the fashion feels like generic European medieval fashion.

I feel like the whole storyline of Asha’s interview with Magnifico was pretty pointless, so I would have it that she just starts off as the kings apprentice, whilst also working as Amaya’s scullery maid.

The couple took Asha in when the girl lost her father at the age of 12 (according to the film), and she’s been working for them for five years. Asha works not only to support herself, her family, and her community, but also as a way to distract from the grief of losing her father. Which is no issue, as Amaya always bombards the girl with chores, and Magnifico only teaches Asha the most basic of magic for fear of her growing more powerful than him.

I made Asha work as a scullery maid not only as a reference to princesses such as Snow White and Cinderella starting off their respective stories as maids, but also because scullery maids acted as assistants to the kitchen maids. Dahlia works in the kitchen, Asha and Dahlia are best friends, I figured it made sense.

But anyways, on the day of Sabino’s 100th birthday, Sakina tells Asha to take a break and return home, as she hardly visits anymore due to work. Asha says she’ll try asking the king and queen to get off early, but that she can’t make any promises.

Asha meets with Magnifico and asks for the day off, but the king refuses. However, wanting to keep her loyalty, Magnifico finally shows Asha the wish chamber, and even allows her to witness the wish ceremony that night. But once Asha starts questioning the king on his methods, any goodwill between them begins to fade.

Another thing I’m disappointed in, is that originally Star was going to be a shapeshifting humanoid inspired by the Genie and Peter Pan, and may have even had a romance with Asha. But, the idea was scrapped for the more cutesy, ‘marketable’, version of Star.

In my retelling, I’d choose to do this human shapeshifter version of Star, but I’d name him something else. The star Earendel was mentioned in the concept art book, which is the farthest known star from Earth and not only means ‘morning star’ in Old English, but is also named after the Tolkien character, Eärendil.

I would call this shapeshifter Star Earen, and because Disney loves their animal/cute sidekicks, Earen can have the ‘Kirby’ Star as a companion, just like how Asha has Valentino and Magnifico and Amaya have Charo.

((Side #2: Anybody else notice that Star lowkey looks and sounds like Kirby😶))

Earen and Star journey down to Rosas once they hear Asha’s pleas for guidance. Once Asha tells of Magnifico and Amaya’s lies, Earen reveals that he actually met Magnifico decades ago. The amount of years shocks Asha, as she realizes that the King and Queen might be far older than what they are.

((Side note #3: I didn’t realize this till someone mentioned it, but if Sabino is 100 and he gave Magnifico his wish at 18, then he’s been waiting 82 years for his wish to be granted. Which means it’s likely that Magnifico might be immortal. That, or Disney didn’t think this shit through (most likely)))

Anyways, Earen actually attempted to stop Magnifico and Amaya’s ploy to keep the wishes of Rosas locked away, but he was sealed within the heavens until he and Star heard Asha make her wish.

We can have it that the king and queen spun the story so that Earen was made out to be an evil that once threatened Rosas, but Magnifico banished him and saved everyone, essentially making himself out to be the good guy and manipulating the narrative.

Asha and Earen must now work together to expose the lies of the royal couple, and along the way, the two begin to fall in love. Earen disguises himself as a peasant boy so as to remain inconspicuous, while Asha tries to go about her job as if nothing happened, evading the King and Queen’s suspicions.

Star gives Asha a stick infused with stardust once finding out she is, quite literally, the sorcerers apprentice. It is also so that she may defend herself, as Earen has his powers and a sword (similarly to Peter Pan).

Unlike Magnifico, Earen and Star teach Asha the wonders of magic and the potential she wields, showing that there is no need for her to hold back when her gift can help so many, including those she loves.

The three manage to sneak into the kings study, but only have time to retrieve Sabino’s wish and return it to him. However, Magnifico and Amaya, now strengthened by the powers of dark magic, find Asha and Earen and threaten to destroy all the wishes should Earen not surrender to them.

And as a way to ensure that Asha doesn’t foil their plans, Magnifico destroys both Asha and Sakina’s wishes, despite Asha not being eighteen yet. However, the evil magic allows him to do so. This act weakens the two women, and infuriates Earen.

Earen then willingly complies despite Asha’s opposition, and Sabino takes Asha and Sabina to the seven (well six) teens for aid, who are in hiding after Simon ratted them out and who now serves as a puppet to the king and queen.

Despite loosing her wish, Asha finds the strength to carry on through the memory of her late father, enlisting the help of her friends and Star, who managed to evade the royal couple’s grasp. The team must work together to save Earen, whose power will be drained by Magnifico and Amaya. And if such a feat were to happen, then Earen would die and Rosas would be lost.

The five teens go into the woods to distract one of the royals, with the aid of the forest fauna and Star. Amaya chases the group alongside Charo while Magnifico tortures Earen and begins stealing his power. With the help of Dahlia, Asha sneaks into the castle to confront her former mentor and save Earen before it’s too late.

At first, it seems that the heroes have the upper hand with Magnifico neutralized, but then, Amaya swoops in riding Charo, who now takes the form of a giant dragon. Earen transforms into a dragon himself and battles Charo and Amaya, while Asha continues battling Magnifico. Star even comes to help after the original plan fails.

However, the unholy trio have the upper hand, and Amaya strikes down Earen, giving Magnifico enough time to not only drain Earen’s power, but to trap Star within his staff. With their combined powers, Magnifico and Amaya gather all of the peoples wishes, even stealing the wishes of those not yet of age, which includes the teens.

With all the wishes gathered, the couple and their pet destroy all the wishes, taking their energy for themselves.

Asha falls into despair as she watched her friends, love ones, and community succumb to the grief of loosing their wishes. The king and queen force Asha to apologize to the people, mocking her and making her feel even more guilty.

However, Earen comforts Asha despite his weak state, telling her it’s alright and that she shouldn’t be ashamed of wishing on Star, as he brought the two of them together. The two kiss, the strength of their newfound love and hope shining through the darkness and inspiring the people of Rosas to rise up.

As the sky and stars become alive, Magnifico’s staff is destroyed, releasing Star in the process. All the evil magic he, Amaya, and Charo used is sucked out of them and vanquished, and Earen is restored to full vitality.

Think of this as the transformation scene from Princess and the Frog. Asha and Earen get new outfits, with Asha even gaining a crown and a new wand from Star.

((Side Note #4: The “transformation” in the finale of the film is so stupid. Asha could’ve literally gotten a new dress once she becomes a fairy godmother, but instead, Star just made her sparkly. How magical🙄))

Rosas rejoices, as they realize they don’t need the king to make their wishes come true, and they can pursue them themselves. With Magnífico and Amaya banished from Rosas, Asha and Earen become the new rulers, being names Prince and Princess respectively.

And that’s basically how I would’ve done Wish. It’s not perfect, but it’s just an idea. I’m just disappointed that Disney do something better for their 100th anniversary.

At least we got some descriptions of how some of the other Asteri look like. It still bothers me Rigelus chose the form of a 17-year-old boy. Ugh what a creep.

"Quinlan and Athalar are mates. She will return to this world because of that bond. And when she does, she will go straight to him."

THEY 👏🏼 ARE 👏🏼 MATES 👏🏼

"Athalar and Baxian dangled unconscious from the ceiling, their torsos patchworks of scars and burns. And their backs..."

The Asteri better start counting their fucking days.

"Lidia couldn't look at the third figure hanging between them. Couldn't get a breath down near him."

UGH!!!!

"Baxian still hung unconscious. Pollux had beaten him into a bloody pulp last night after severing his and Athalar's wings with a blunt-toothed saw. The Helhound didn't so much as stir."

Pollux I hope you'll burn in the deepest pit of Hell and get to have the worst death in the history of SJM character deaths.

"They'd never spoken mind-to-mind outside of their dreaming, but she'd been trying since he'd arrived here. Again and again, she'd cast her mind toward his. Only silence answered."

This sounds a whole lot like a Daemati. Like I'm still not sure if she is but it seems like it.

Chapter 1 (Bryce's POV)

"The darkness seemed inherent to the three people standing across from her: a petite female in gray silk, and two winged males clad in black scalelike armor, one of them-the beautiful, powerful male in the center of the trio— literally rippling with shadows and stars. Rhysand, he'd called himself. The one who looked so much like Ruhn."

Let's fucking gooooo!!

"You said your name is Bryce Quinlan. That you come from another world —Midgard." Rhysand murmured to the winged male beside him. Translating, perhaps.

Yes Rhys show us how useful your Duolingo lessons were.

Rhys seems to be agitated about her.

Master of spinning bullshit, indeed. "So maybe I'm here for that. Maybe the sword sensed that dagger and ... brought me to it." Silence. Then the silent, hazel-eyed warrior laughed quietly. How had he understood without Rhysand translating? Unless he could simply read her body language, her tone, her scent—The warrior spoke with a low voice that skittered down her spine. Rhysand glanced at him with raised brows, then translated for Bryce with equal menace, "You're lying."

Bryce, honey, that's the Spymaster of the Night Court.

"I just watched my mate and my brother get captured by a group of intergalactic parasites," she snarled. "I have no interest in doing anything except finding a way to help them." Rhysand looked to the warrior, who nodded, not taking his gaze off Bryce for so much as a blink. "Well," Rhysand said to Bryce, crossing his muscled arms. "That's true, at least."

Not Azriel functioning as Rhysand's personal lie detector. Impressive though.

" I do not pry where I am not willingly invited." Bryce lurched back in the chair, nearly knocking it over at the smooth male voice in her mind. Rhysand's voice. But she answered, thanking Luna for keeping her own voice cool and collected, "Code of mind-speaking ethics?"

LOLOLOLOLOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣

"So this is it, then. This is where we-the Midgard Fae— originated. My ancestors left this world and went to Midgard. .. and we forgot where we came from."

The theory I had since before even HOSAB came out is finally confirmed. I mean it was semi-confirmed in HOSAB but some readers still debated it.

The corner of Rhysand's mouth curled upward. "We will not torture it from you, nor will I pry it from your mind. If you choose not to talk, it is indeed your choice. Precisely as it will be my choice to keep you down here until you decide otherwise."

Bryce couldn't stop herself from coolly surveying the room, her attention lingering on the grate and the hissing that drifted up from it. "'ll be sure to recommend it to my friends as a vacation spot."

Of course Rhys has to pull the "choice" speech whenever he can 🤣 also, BRYCE LOL!!!

"You haven't seen it in fifteen thousand years, or spoken this language in nearly as long-which lines up pertectly with the timeline of the Starborn Fae arriving in Midgard."

So they exist in the same timeline then but Midgard happens to be more advanced.

"It is in our history, Rhysand," Amren said gravely. "But the Asteri were not known by that name. Here, they were called the Daglan."

Asteri are the Daglan, we guessed as much in HOSAB but that's another theory confirmed now!

"Azriel, without Rhysand to translate, watched in silence. Bryce could have sworn shadows wreathed him, like Ruhn's, yet... wilder. The way Cormac's had been."

Ruhn's darkness seemed more similar to Rhys, but Cormac was close to what we know of Shadowsingers. But if Shadows are an Avallen Fae's gifts then how is Azriel one? We're told Shadowsingers are not specific to any courts but there are no Shadowsinger Fae in Midgard than Avallen Fae. But Azriel has a unique way with his shadows (given that magic is more powerful in Prythian.

"The Veritas orb?" Amren said, and Azriel lifted an eyebrow.

Oh damn.

Rhysand mastered himself, a cool mask sliding into place. "You live in such a world." It wasn't entirely a question. But Bryce nodded. "Yes." "And they want to bring all of that ... here." "Yes." Rhysand stared ahead. Thinking it through. Azriel just kept his eyes on the space where the orb had displayed the utter destruction of her world. Dreading-and yet calculating. She'd seen that look before on Hunt's face. A warrior's mind at work.

She showed them the destruction and all the weapons the Asteri have. She even showed them Rigelus. Rhys, Azriel, and even Amren seem at a loss for words.

Bryce examined the silver bean that lay smooth and gleaming in her hand. Amren said without looking at her, "You swallow it, and it will translate our mother tongue for you. Allow you to speak it, too." "Fancy," Bryce murmured.

Of course they have a pill for translating any language and here we've been pondering about how they would communicate.

Amen turned to Rhysand and said in that new, strange language -their language: "The glowing letters inked on her back... they're the same as those in the Book of Breathings."

Oooooh Leshon Hakodesh 👀

Then Azriel said in a soft, lethal voice, "Explain or you die."

Holy hell that's hot—I mean—Azriel that's not a way to treat a woman chill the fuck out.

Also, Azriel's shadows seem to be around and thriving after all 😌 I recall being told they're gone for good based on HOSAB's ending, not that I took it seriously Lol.

I love all the english vas but in the latest I'm reminded again of why the vas for Marcille and Chilchuck are just so good for their respective characters

Their voices fit the 'not that old not that young' criteria since their characters look young but could actually be older than you think and vice versa because of their races

Marcille is someone who can be quite silly when she wants to be and her va just pulls off the silly personality so well; this particular scene just makes me cackle with how she transitioned between bittersweet goodbye to the familiar to flailing and being sad because why oh why Laios pls give her some time to grieve before cooking it 😆 it reminds me again that she's young. she may be older in years but she's young.

There was also that "this gives me the heebie jeebies" right after her serious "let's go" in the frog onesies episode

Meanwhile Chilchuck's va just always, for me anyway, pulls off the quite young teenage boy voice but here I can hear how he could be a dad. It's the Dad voice. When dad's worried about you thing. It's the mature adult voice, he's flipped from his usual demeanour of 'idc im here to pick locks' mode to 'who are you senshi what happened'

For me twas also the same when he said "I know there's a lot of things going on in your heart that idk about" to Laios when he was worried about the rest of the party after chimera Falin disappeared again

Do not lie to others about anything major

Always be fair and kind

Do not SLACK, always put the work in

Always be punctual and do whatever is required of you

Saturn 🤤loves 🤤 discipline. Wake up at 5 am, do Surya namaskars, do abhyanga, study for class, go to college, come home and do chores. Basically, any opportunity you receive to do work of any kind??? TAKE IT UP and go hard at it

Physically doing work is the fastest way to burn off karmas

You can do yoga or a different kind of exercise as well

Saturn punishes those who are lazy and makes their path harder. Even if you dont care about it, give it your 100% and work hard because Saturn will reward you for it.

You've been worried on the couch waiting for jungkook to text you. He had yuna today, he begged you to have her for the day. You couldn't say no, you didn't want to. You enjoy seeing jungkook spent time with his daughter, it's a nice sight to see her laughing and giggling as he tickles her.

But you made it very clear to him that she should be back by 4pm. You'd never allow her to stay the night with him at his place. He may seem to have changed but you don't know what kinda dump his house looks like or the kinda people jungkook has around.

It's now 7pm and you've been waiting for jungkook to text or call you. Or atleast respond to your calls and texts. You've been calling like a hundred times and he doesn't respond,  this makes you even more worried and sick to your stomach. Your little baby girl, you hope she's okay. You hope jungkook hasn't got her passively inhaling smoke. You'd kill him if that was the case, you'd fucking kill him.

Your mind can't stop thinking of the worst. All you can think of is your sweet baby girl in a crowd of drunk people. The loud music playing hurting her ear drums, shes probably crying but jungkook can't hear her over the loud music. Aw you're little baby probably misses you so much.

"Has he responded?" Hobi asks you, snapping you out of your frantic thoughts.

You shake your head.

"Lets just go by his place" he suggests,  its not a bad idea. It's the only option you have anyways if you want to save your baby girl from jungkook.

So this what you do, hobi drives you to his place. You're pretty sure he still lives where you last left him.

"Stay here" you tell hoseok as you leave the car. He places a hand on yours before you leave.

"Are you sure you don't want me to come with you" his eyes soften.

"I'm sure hoseok" you smile warmly to him. "Please stay in the car"

You give him your back and he watches as you walk into the apartment building. He can't help but want to follow behind you. To be a protection for you and yuna.

You walk down the hallway looking at the doors for jungkook's apartment. You check the numbers and you're pretty sure you can remember it. How can you forget it when a year ago that's all you knew. At this point you had mastered the number, it was engraved on your brain.

The memories hit you like the wind. The times when jungkook would be pulling you by the hand to his apartment. One time you didn't even have time to admire the hallway cause you were busy tangling your lips with jungkook's.

You chuckle brushing off the memories, those days are gone now.

You wonder what you're going to see when you open jungkook's door. It doesn't sound like he's having a party but you still don't trust jungkook. You look at his door or knowing whether to knock or just type in the code. You aren't even sure if the code you know is gonna work.

You're not going to knock. So you decide to tap in the code and hope it works. Your hands move against the screen and you sigh when the little thing beeps allowing you to enter.

He seriously didn't change the code. You chuckle.

You open the door slightly as your leg move to walk in. You pull yourself in and when you do you're met with the sight of yuna sat on one of jungkook's female friend's lap, the girl from the bar. At least they aren't doing drugs or having a party, but that doesn't take away from the fact they are smoking and drinking.

You're gonna fucking kill him.

"Mama" yuna calls out when she sees you and stretches her cute little arms out.

"My baby" you rush over and grab her setting her over your hip.

"Are you okay baby" you say checking her body like a doctor. You give her a tight hug not noticing anything wrong with her.

"I missed you so much"

"No hellos" the girl on the couch asks you tone cheeky. You send her a death glare.

"I'm not here for you" you rock yuna in your arms. "Where's jungkook?"

Yuna doesn't look like she was crying.

"Y/n what are you doing here?" Jungkook asks walking into the living room.

"What am I doing here?" You retort. "I'm here to pick up my daughter. You didn't bring her at the appointed time so I got worried." You say angrily and eye his friends at the last sentence.

"Worried about what?" he furrows his brows.

"Worried that she might get sick" you lower your tone but still stay angry.

"And how would that happen" jungkook knows what you're implying but he wants you to say it.

"I don't know jungkook.. drugs? Alcohol? Smoke?" You say like it wasn't obvious.

He scoffs "You honestly think I'd expose her to that"

"I meannnnn" you wave your hand at his friends and the alcohol on his table, and his friend who is smoking.

"He's smoking by the window" jungkook defends.

"It doesn't matter" you yell getting frustrated.

"I don't like how you're talking about us y/n" the girl speaks and you roll your eyes.

"Shut the fuck up" You groan at her forgetting your no cussing infront of yuna rule. Your attention is pulled to the little girl in your arms when she starts to whine. You sigh disappointed that you got carried away.

"I'm not to talking to you here" you say to jungkook and turn to walk out.

"You've got a very beautiful daughter y/n" the girl speaks, she sounds genuine but yet so condescending.

You want to say something to her but jungkook's hand on your shoulder stops you.

"Come on" he closes the door and you head for outside.

"You couldn't call?" jungkook asks when the night air hits you.

"Like I didn't" you say sarcastically. "Check your phone" he does.

"Okay im sorry, my bad" he runs his hands through his hair, "I must've gotten carried away with work" you roll your eyes and turn to him.

"And where did you leave yuna?"

"With jess" You scoff.

"Jess? Jess the fucking walking hookah pipe" you spit.

"Don't say that" in other circumstances jungkook would've laughed at that.

"Plus yuna seemed fine"

"Seemed is not good enough jungkook. She could easily get sick"

"I know, I'm sorry. But you're making a big deal out of it." His voice rises a bit.

"Its always gonna be serious when it comes to my daughter"

Jungkook scoffs when you say it like she's not his daughter too.

"She's my daughter too" he whisper-shouts "Don't you think i care. I'm not gonna let anything harm her" you're taken back by his tone.

"Or maybe you just think so low of me" You roll your eyes at him.

"Huh?" You don't respond.

"Well can you blame us" you hear hoseok speak behind you, "your actions don't really help us see the better in you" you can hear the despise in his tone.

You can see jungkook physically gag and roll his eyes at hoseok. You too sigh knowing what's going to go down.

"You brought him? Y/n" jungkook asks in disbelief.

"I don't have a car remember?" You tell him as hoseok stops next to you.

"You're so fucking pitiful" jungkook says to hoseok "you're such a kiss up.why are you trying to have my leftovers" jungkook chuckles mockingly.

"Don't talk about her like that" hoseok wants to move closer to jungkook but you stop him,

"There's a baby here" you warn them both.

"She's never gonna love you bro"

"I'm not trying to get her to love me, maybe I'm just trying to be there for her... for yuna" hobi says sharply. "Cause you never did"

"Stay away from my daughter" jungkook warns and closes in on hoseok.

"Jungkook please" you stop him. And on cue yuna starts to cry and your heart breaks at how unattentive you were.

"Hoseok please take her back to the car" you say handing yuna to him. You Watch as hoseok rocks yuna and wipes her tears.

"Come here" jungkook says reaching for yuna.

"No" You stop him.

"Let me say bye to my daughter" he looks at you intensely.

"No." you say to him "hoseok go"

"What the fuck y/n let me say bye to my daughter"

"No jungkook, I'm sick of this. I'm sick of you!" you start to yell.

"Y/n" hoseok tries to comfort you.

"Hoseok please just go to the car!" You end up unintentionally yelling at him, you make a mental not to apologise later.

"What do you mean you're sick" jungkook asks getting upset.

"Im sick of you and having having daughter involved in your life" you run your hands over your face frustrated.

"There's never a time when she's with you and I'm not worried" you can feel the tears threaten to fall.

"Sometimes I wish you weren't in her life... our life" you can see the hurt in jungkook's eyes but it's soon replaced with confusion.

"haven't I done enough y/n. Haven't I done my best to be there for you guys" he places his hands on your shoulders.

"You have I know but-" the tears falls "I can never know if you've truly changed...I'm always worried" you sniffle.

"You don't trust me huh?" You can feel him distance himself. Both physically and emotionally.

"After everything I've done" he chuckles coldly.

You wipe your tears and calm yourself down.

"So what? What now?" He asks you coldly. "You're gonna take her away from me? You're gonna keep my own daughter from me?"He yells.

"THE DAUGHTER YOU DIDN'T WANT!" you smack his chest and he's taken aback by your loudness.

"The daughter you told me to get rid of. The daughter you didn't want to see when she was a foetus. The daughter you weren't there for." you spit back to back at him.

"But aren't I here, aren't i here y/n?" He pushes your hands to his chest.

"That's not what I'm talking about jungkook and you know it" you snatch your hands from him.

"Plus we never even talked about it. We just walked over it like it's nothing. "That's not how it's supposed to work"

"So why don't we talk about it, fix it" He pleads.

"It's too late for that jungkook"

"Okay" he gives in "but you're not gonna keep my daughter from me" he shakes his head and you say nothing.

"You can't do that"

"I can" you spit.

He chuckles bitterly.

"we're gonna have to take it to court then" he says plainly and you scoff.

"Let the court decide?" You ask mockingly.

"Yeah"

"Okay" you nod laughing "and we'll see what they'll say about a druggy alcoholic father asking for custody" you spit out sarcastically.

"Yeah we'll see" jungkook says like he's got a very good chance at custody.

Before you leave you turn to him. And with so much determination, digust and anger you give him a hard smack on the cheek.

"I am not your leftovers" you say bitterly "see you in court you piece of shit" you walk off and into hoseok's car.

"Are you okay" he asks you worried

"I'm okay" you tell him but its not convincing. "Is she okay?" You turn to the back seat a see a sleeping yuna in her car seat.

"Yeah. Rocked her a bit and she fell right asleep. Must've been really tired"

He watches you watch her.

"I'm so sorry baby" you rub her little feet.

"Yeah sorry, she picked a shitty dad" you hear hoseok snicker.

You can't even bother to be mad at him, you don't have the energy. You know he means no harm.

"Lets go home"

"So how is everything between the two of you now"

Jungkook sighs folding his legs on his couch and you scoff at his choice of clothing. You'd never expect to see jungkook in formal wear.

"We've been okay" he speaks eyeing your floral dress and heels. You told him you wanted to get into wearing heels again, but he didn't promise on carrying you if something happened.

It's your first therapy session after the court granted you both equal custody. Amd cause of that you and jungkook decided to attend therapy.

"And as a couple how are things"

"We're not a couple" you both say at the same time, laughing when you do so.

"We're co-parenting" you quickly say to lessen the awkwardness for the therapist.

"Oh my apologies"

"It's alright, I'm pretty sure people who walk in here are usually couples anyways" jungkook also tries to ease the awkwardness.

The therapist simply nods at that. Your lawyers had advised you to maybe attend a parenting therapy. Not to fix the both of you, cause that's far gone, but to help you both parent yuna well.

"We're just here to learn how to co-parent" you add smiling at jungkook.

"That session went well" you say walking out of the building.

"Surprisingly, I thought I was gonna hate it"

You hum as the afternoon sun hits you.

"You've got yuna tonight right?" You ask him.

"i thought you had her" he asks confused.

"I know but I was hoping you can have her" you plead. "You don't have anything to do right?"

"I don't. But why?"

You sigh having to explain to him.

"Hoseok and I have plans tonight" you bite your bottom lip waiting for his reaction.

Jungkook's face relaxes. "Oh okay, sure I'll watch her. I don't mind"

You sigh. you thought he wouldn't say yes.

"Thanks you're the best" you give him a giddy smile, you wanted to hug him but you didn't know how he'd take it.

Jungkook watches you hoping you'd hug him but maybe it's too early for that.

"I know I'm the best" he says full of himself.

"Shut up" You laugh.

Ooo I haven’t been asked this before actually, but good question!

Well, taking the scenes that only appeared in my head out, like Gwen and Duncan getting back together hehe, I think my favorite scenes would have to beeeee….

5) Duncan’s kiss of goodbye to Gwen 😚

This kiss was toooo cute! 😣💝 I know it’s just a peck on the cheek, but after that little leech moment they had from earlier (which you may or may not be seeing in a little bit hehe), the fact that Duncan gave that kiss to Gwen once they found out they’re no longer going to be together on the same team I thought was just so sweet! He gave her a little reassurance that even though they won’t be teamed up together anymore, he’ll still be with her, just over there cheering her on from the other side. Adorable! 💘

4) Stargazing by the bridge 🌌

I know there wasn’t anything going on between them by this point, but I think this scene is still one of my favorites from them because of the whole idea that set them up to this moment. They decided to sneak off in the middle of the night, walk together to this bridge and gaze out all across the stars. It’s all so dreamy and then, of course, there’s when the two later wrestle and accidentally stumble upon each other. Their awkward facial expressions said so much about how seemingly romantic this all was! 🤣 Then afterwards the two continued to hang out and decided to be trifling and stole everyone’s underwear to hang them up above flag poles? Sounds like they had a long night together and I think this scene just really showcases the fun between the two of them and how even though nothing romantic was necessarily going on, I think some seeds were definitely being planted that night for what was to become of them later on down the road. 💟

3) Gwen and Duncan’s BOP 🎶🔥🏛️

This scene is so great! First of all, the song is wonderful, one of my favorite’s from World Tour! Not only do Duncan and Gwen’s voices go great together, but the subject matter of the lyrics is dripping with tension and that’s what makes this musical number so memorable! They both loved their kiss that they shared, but now they have to face the consequences for what they did and confess up to their crime. It’s a big struggle and something that they both have to overcome together.

It’s just really interesting seeing these two in the same guilty situation together and sharing their similar feelings that they have in song. And speaking of songs, in the beginning of the season, they both refused to sing and Duncan later even quit the whole competition because he really didn’t want to, so them coming together to sing an emotional bop later on? I call that some character growth! 👏🏼

2) Duncan taking a leech for Gwen

I really loved everything about this scene! Duncan and Gwen talking beforehand about how he thought her sabotaging Courtney was intentional, that was something that really offended Gwen because she didn’t think that her boyfriend would think of her in that way, especially with the situation that they’ve been going through together. Her snapping at Duncan for not knowing who she really was made him think twice on what he just said and when the two were suddenly surprised by the opposing team, Duncan decided to jump in front of Gwen to save her from being eliminated from the challenge and wow, I thought that whole thing was all just so nice! 🥺🦋

Additionally, Gwen gasping at Duncan’s fall too and then unloading an unnecessary amount of leeches onto Cameron to avenge Duncan, loved that little touch! Then finally, her lowering down to Duncan to showcase her surprise that he saved her and him saying in response that maybe she doesn’t know him as well either…🥺 I love it!

Moments like this show me that there was so much more depth to their relationship. They felt like a real couple in this scene, trying to overcome a challenge in the game, as well as a problem in their relationship. I love seeing stuff like that bc it reminds me that you could know your partner for years, but that doesn’t mean you know 100% everything about them. Make sure to listen to what your significant other has to say. I liked how this scene showed that like they both needed a little reminder on who they were to each other, it was really wonderful to see. 🫶🏼

1) Becoming an official couple at Area 51 👽💚💙

I know it’s a popular pick for top Gwuncan scene, but it’s one for such a good reason! This scene was just perfect, I loved how they got to be alone and finally discuss the mess that they’ve created. Gwen even begins to tells Duncan that maybe right now wasn’t a good time to try something, only for Duncan to surprise her with a kiss that told her that what he had for her wasn’t a mistake, but something that he seriously wanted to pursue and I thought that was just super sweet. I also love how Gwen didn’t want to rush anything between them and wanted things to just flow and come off naturally, something that Duncan wanted as well: “No pressure, no planning, no pookums.” Just perfect. 🥹💖

Honorable Mentions:

I thought it was pretty cute how Duncan was trying to give Gwen some comfort in Chris’ decision to put her on the villains team. He saw that she clearly didn’t like that choice of his and tried to make the situation feel a little bit better for Gwen by saying being bad was cool and how now they’d at least be competing together, I like that. 😌

Ofc this moment! 😂 It is messed up that Duncan and Courtney were still together when this kiss happened, but the way I view this scene, they were so incredibly happy to see one another that they just couldn’t resist their temptations any longer and accidentally let this kiss slip out of them. It was unfortunate given the inevitable consequences, but for that one passionate reason, I did think this scene was just a little romantic, can’t lie.

This hug was just adorable and the fact that they did it after winning a challenge too! Also, it looked like it was a special handshake/hug combo that they both came up with together. So cute! 🥹

I’ve always thought this kiss was very beautiful from them. They’re just there with everyone and enjoying their best life, together on a yacht, and are finally able to not have to think about the cursed game that they were both a part of. They just get to enjoy each other’s sweet company. 🥰

This scene was nice too! They weren’t really friends yet, but I like how they said goodbye to each other in a way where it’s shown that they both had a lot of respect for each other’s take on the same game. Especially after the last couple of challenges too, I feel like they both got to see a side of one another that gave them each a good idea on who the other person may fully be like.

And lastly, for what I wished to have seen more of, I wish we got to see more of their development together in pretty much everything: their friendship, their relationship, even to them breaking up (though, in my head they’re still together lmao), I feel like we didn’t really get to see much screen time of their chemistry which is pretty unfortunate cause I believe that the two of them had a lot of potential together as a couple. A lot of the pieces were there like the scenes from above and a lot more that I didn’t include, I just wish more were added to make their story really shine and most of all, make their love more believable.

But still, I love Duncan and Gwen and the story they have now. They’ll always be my #1 favorite Total Drama couple! ☺️💗✨

I know Omega is frustrated here and people may bash her for being 'whiny' but I honestly appreciate the writers letting us see her in a more child-like frustration.

I honestly love that Ventress has seen both the light and dark side of the force and now has come into her own. She's almost looked relieved that she was able to call the creatures to her, kind of like an "I'm still worthy moment."

"Did you summon that?" "Not intentionally."

Omega with wet hair! (NOW GIVE US HUNTER)

Okay my theory about the kraken, Ventress called it's food source, so it followed, but then it got curious about their boat. It wasn't trying to attack them, it was bumping their boat because it was trying to figure out what they were. Then Ventress cut off a tentacle (yes to rescue Omega, but I think the creature was just exploring) That spooked it, then the Marauder swings in and starts shooting at it. When the Marauder flies off, a tentacle kind of flicks in a 'yeah get out of here' kind of way. It doesn't immediately eat Ventress when it has her (does it even eat humans?), it brings her close to it's face to investigate and she takes her time channeling the Force. The animators specifically focus on the creature's eyes and the changes in it (pupils dilating). To me, it seemed like Ventress was communicating with it like "I'm sorry we startled you, we mean you no harm." Then the creature sets Ventress down so gently (it doesn't drop her) and goes on it's merry way.

Crosshair is the one on the ramp to get Omega!!!

Ahh! he reaches out to help Ventress too. He offered her his hand and she took it!! 🥰

I'm surprised we didn't get a comment from Ventress about Batcher.

Wrecker being the big brother we all need and taking Omega off to eat after a long day just makes my heart so warm.

The way Hunter and Crosshair are both standing with a hip popped is killing me. (again, sorry for bad quality) 😂

"You're lying" So perceptive, Crosshair.

Ventress is so smart and she sees how much the Batch cares about Omega, hence why she lied. AND Hunter and Crosshair know Ventress is right that if they acknowledge Omega is Force-sensitive, that means she goes away and they're not ready for that.

Her warning is so foreboding... (A Harbringer?) Next week is a double feature and I think that's when we'll get the Empire over Pabu.

Crosshair is so attentive to Ventress, I'm already shipping them (don't get me wrong, I'd fight Ventress for Crosshair, but they seem like they'd be a good match in-universe)

AHHH!!! This episode was so good. We got to see our boys fighting again as a unit. We got to see Ventress (which, during clone wars she was always just a 'mech' character for me. Didn't love her, didn't hate her, but this episode solidified her on my favs list. Her line of "We were pawned in the same war and we all lost." Just DAMN she hit the nail on the head and I don't even know she knows she did. If you made it through this entire post, scrolling back I didn't realize how insanely long it is, thank you!! 💕

“We’ve actually, um, already met,” the prince interjected, his voice sounding rather small and pitiful.

Sokka raised his eyebrows in surprise.

“Wait, really?” her brother inquired. “When did this happen?”

When he saw he’d receive no answer from his sister, whose stony glare mirrored the prince’s from earlier in the night, Sokka turned his focus back towards his friend.

“It was, um, right after we arrived,” the Fire Prince replied, and she could see that he was starting to sweat just a little, which served him right. “I didn’t know she was your sister, though…”

Her brother finally noticed something was wrong, and his head swiveled back and forth between the two of them.

After a heartbeat Prince Zuko somehow forced a weak smile on his face, cautiously extending his hand to take hers.

No doubt he intended to raise it to his lips for a kiss, probably to regurgitate some nonsense about what an honor it had been to make her acquaintance or something.

Well, he would receive no such honor from her tonight, not after his vile behavior and insults.

Katara allowed her eyes to skim down to his pale, trembling hand before raising them to meet his gaze once more, her mouth set in a hard thin line.

He held his hand out for a few more moments before finally realizing that it was pointless, eventually letting it drop to his side as the corners of his mouth quickly shot downwards into a frown once more.

A faint murmuring arose from the crowd watching this interaction, marveling at this snub.

Zutara nation how we feeling after that last update 🫡

This amazing fic has been living rent free in my mind and so I just had to draw this moment from it because the image of Katara death-glaring at Zuko all while Sokka is totally confused about it had me dying when I first read through it. Backgrounds are defo not my strong suit but I’m honestly super proud of how it turned out, used references of ballrooms and simplified it because I would’ve probably keeled over if I detailed it as much as I wanted to originally. (See if you can spot which of the shadows were my favorite to draw 🥹 I feel like it’s super obvious)

If you’re looking for a good read, this has it all:

- good immersive writing

- enemies to friends to eventual lovers (they’re getting there 🥹🥹🥹 but not without a whole world of obstacles in their way)

- s l o w b u r n. And it’s so stinking good.

Since Cooking Companions and now Dread Weight pull from Slavic Mythology.

With their inclusion of the Baba Yaga.

I wondered if any of our new characters in Dread Weight carried any similarities.

Their is definitely something up with Kurt.

Why would the Baba Yaga want him specifically dead.

If it was just another mass murder like she's done before I wouldn't question it.

But it's made clear over and over that everyone else in the mansion would be spared if Kurt was handed over to her.

There's also the the spirits, Maximillion the Duck who says he'd love to leave but because Kurt won't allow him too.

I saw a comment on Superhorrorbro's playthrough of the demo that wondered if Kurt could be Koschei the deathless.

So I chose that as my starting point.

The first thing that pops out to me is the involvement of not only the Baba Yaga in this tale but a Prince called Ivan.

Ivan being the name of the person Potato mentions at the beginning of the game.

"We need to repay him for Ivan."

The him being presumably Kurt.

There's also the note which reads:

Dearest (the name is smudged out)

I know your still upset about Ivan.

I'm asking the impossible, but please forgive me and let's end this madness.

We're different. To lose track of time.

To let feuds rot inside of us, undying, while the rest of the world moves on.

This isn't healthy. It took me ages to unlearn this.

I am asking you, PLEASE let this one die.

- Sincerely,

-(the name is illegible)"

So there's a mysterious person called Ivan, something happened to him that we want repayment for.

We're upset about what happened and someone is telling us to forgive them.

And we know this person is Kurt.

Because it's his mansion the Baba Yaga ends up attacking.

The story of Koschei the Deathless comes from a Russian fairytale in which Koshei, an immortal man who had a habit of kidnapping young girls.

He's known as the Deathless because he stores his soul inside of a needle which in turn is stored into an egg.

Which fair, some people store their soul in an animatronic suite and than upload their digital consciousness into it's circuit boards.

And divide that into several tapes several tapes.

You do you.

Though the egg is stored inside of a duck.

And wouldn't you know it, Kurt keeps a duck around in the mansion.

And being the container of his immortal soul sounds like one hell of a reason as to why Maximillion isn't allowed to leave the place.

Though in the story it's a lot more complicated with duck being hidden inside of a hare, who's in turn inside a chest which is buried under a tree etc.

But it could be why a duck and a rabbit are specifically the animals in the mansion.

Much like how Baba Yaga in Slavic Mythology has a cabin on chicken legs.

And under the floor boards of the cabin you can find chicken bones.

It's said if the egg was destroyed the duck would fly free, which is what Maximillion wants.

The story of Koschei the deathless tells the tale of a Prince called Ivan who stumbles upon a fuck ton of bodies, from Koschei's army in the woods.

Finding out Koschei himself had been captured by the warrior queen Maria Moreenva.

Who Ivan later meets, falls in love with and marries. Though when it came for the warrior queen to go to war she showed Ivan a door to a locked closet and warned him not to open it.

Im sure we can all guess what comes next.

Inside the closet is an old man, chained and begging for water.

Feeling pity for the old man, Ivan gives him water and to no ones suprise the man turns out to be Koschei.

Now having regained his strength from the water, he breaks his chains and kidnaps Ivan.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Way to go smart guy.

His wife finds out and after probably giving the worlds biggest face-palm goes to recur her husband.

However, Koschei was prepared for this and ambushed her, cutting her into pieces.

But it's all good!

Apparently she had 3 shape-shifting brothers who came to her aid as a falcon, a Raven and an eagle. Sprinkling some good ol life water on her, Queen Maria was back.

Knowing Koschei was too fast to catch up too, she went to person who had the fastest horse.

The Baba Yaga.

Who gave her a sickly looking horse but the more Maria rode it it became stronger. And she eventually caught up to Koschei.

Maria nabbed her hubby back and took off with Koschei following her.

Until Koschei's horse hit a rock, Koschei fell off and Maria used the opportunity to impale and set him on fire.

Queen Maria, do not fuck with her.

And they live happily ever after.

Moral of the story, listen to your wife.

Although with all myths their are different iterations.

And this is no exception.

One that caught my eye was one in which instead of kidnapping Ivan, Koschei decides to get revenge on his captor Queen Maria.

With Ivan the one who goes on a mission to rescue her.

He escapes with her twice but is overcome by Koschei on his much faster horse.

Ivan tries to fight against him but the other is far too powerful, resulting in Ivan being cut down, put in a barrel and set out to sea.

However, Ivan is able to cheat death with the aid of his sisters who had all married powerful sorcerers.

They located him, Ivan managed to get Baba Yaga's horse. And defeated him.

Some with him impalong him, others have him dying by the horse kicking him in the head.

Before he's properly burned.

And so I wonder if in Dread Weight, we have a case where Ivan wasn't or couldn't be revived.

It definitely seems like he is dead in the game.

And Kurt, if he is Koschei and the one to kill him than much like what happens to the Baba Yaga, he begins to grow soft.

He starts to feel remorse for his actions.

He writes a note and asks for forgiveness, that they are both immortal and cannot spend their lives like this.

Kurt being Koschei explains why despite being immortal and having his whole soul in a needle, egg, duck etc why he is afraid of the Baba Yaga.

Because if there's one thing Koschei despises it is the idea of his own death and he knows if anyone can kill him it's the Baba Yaga.

Even without her having his soul.

... Though that is definitely something to worry about.

Though there's definitely not enough evidence for this I think it's a cool idea.

Because Koschei or not there's definitely something up with Kurt.
