honestly I think Bingqiu is the most raw and fierce romance compared to Wangxian and Hualian. Like honestly I think Binghe is perhaps the most human romantic of them all.

imagine your shizun dies. imagine he dies in your arms to protect you. imagine you love him so much you would have destroyed the world to bring him to your side and he dies to save you. imagine your shizun loves you so much, has so much goodness in his heart, all for you, that he gives his life to help you in a moment of crisis. imagine you hold onto him and finally confess your love and anger for him as you should have done the moment you saw him again, all pretenses dropped, and he’s dead.

imagine your shizun is now a corpse, and you take care of him every single day, and you exhaust yourself for him, and then he comes back. and when he comes back, there are so many other things he cares about. you don’t give a shit about them. you just want him by your side. imagine you did all of that. not to repent, but to bring him back.

and he leaves. he asks you to leave, even. you! who’s waited for five years for him to come back to you! he asks that you don’t follow him. he asks that you be patient. that you be smart, that you prioritise, that you wait!

after you’ve had your whole life scrutinised and your very existence scorned by the highest people in the cultivation world, after the very act of your birth was cursed, shizun leaves, again. imagine that happened after you’d tried to help the very people who hate you, all for shizun. imagine shizun asks you to leave after all that, and the next time you two meet, he sends you away, and when you hang back, you hear him laugh with others.

imagine, then, that you break down under the weight of it all, and hurt him again. and then imagine shizun wakes up, and comes to chastise you for not waiting by his side.

i would’ve started sobbing with snot and kicking my feet like a toddler during a tantrum. how binghe kept himself from doing that before maigu ridge will forever astound me

one thing about my ideal luke (i.e. the one that lives in my head and that is injected with all my myriad specific headcanons) is that i fully believe the NSB groomed him. i cannot be convinced otherwise, personally. luke pearce was sixteen years old and in a new city for the first time originally to go to university but then he gets caught up in a transnational case and then recruited by the government security organization and did i mention that he was SIXTEEN YEARS OLD, sixteen years old and very probably highly impressionable and ive said this before in previous posts and even in my fics but he was too perfect for the NSB: so scared of being a burden, so wired for service to make up for his existence, so noble and predisposed to wanting to be a protector. the NSB found him and all they'd have to do is push him deeper into the thought patterns he already had and offer their organization as the outlet. it was too easy.

i also theorize that the NSB is evil (or at the very least not as benevolent as they make themselves out to be) but thats a whole other post topic

look i love dilfy chick hicks and i absolutely understand if you hc him to be a middle-aged man during cars 1

but the reason why i hc him to be 35 during that time is because a lot of the tragedy with my chick is how he "sped" through his life

he was barely able to enjoy his childhood, he was forced to be fully independent by the time he was a teenager, and the moment he became eligible for the piston cup circuit he dedicated his entire life to it, to the point where it became the only "stable" part of his identity

and now he clings onto the past as a way to make up for all the years of his life that he "wasted", where he was alive but wasnt able to *live*

also he has a lot of really weird views and feelings about aging so he feels like his life is already over, when babe it is not. its not over until youre dead
