“have you thought about what you want to do for your birthday?” his sudden question draws you from your concentration on your tablet, idlely playing some fighting style gacha game you’d downloaded thanks to a friend’s recommendation.

you quirk a brow, a little confused by childe. either he was genuinely asking or he was trying to make conversation. at this point, your birthday is months away - hell, his birthday has barely passed so where did this come from? when you lift your eyes from your tablet to the ginger, you find that his striking blue eyes are already on you.

“where’s this coming from?” you mumble out into the still air that fills the apartment and not long after, childe shrugs and breaks the tension with a small, warm laugh that you can’t help that smile at. he really is unpredictable sometimes but you’d seen that coming a long time ago.

“mmh, no reason at all,” he grins but there’s a mischievous sparkle in those ocean-like eyes that you don’t fail to notice as he wraps an arm around your shoulders and pulls you into his side, “how’s the game?”

“it’s good, i like the character designs…” your voice trails off not long after you start talking. you begin to genuinely think about childe’s question; what did you want to do for your birthday? you hadn’t really given it much thought. after all, aren’t birthdays kinda repetitive?

ah, well. i guess you’ll have to tell him another day, there’s plenty of time.

that time passes quick and childe doesn’t mention your upcoming birthday anymore. a nagging feeling in your chest tries to convince you that he’d potentially forgot about it but you knew that couldn’t be further from the truth. childe was so observant in everything and everyone, it was hard to get anything by him even if he acts coy.

babysitting teucer had become a regular routine for the pair of you ages ago. with his parents working and his siblings fighting their footing academically, childe was more than willing to spend twenty-four hours with his youngest brother and when you see those sparkling blue eyes resemblant of a taller, slightly cockier ginger, you can’t say no either.

“big sis risu!” teucer exclaims, a wooden toy in his hand. it’s some kind of machine from a kids show that was mainstream at the moment, being childless meant you hadn’t really given the kids shows these days much thought. your memory only serves you to remember what you grew up watching anyways. god that was a long time ago, almost twenty-three years now.

you’re snapped back to reality by the young boy’s excited grin. he’s always been happy to see you. he says that you make ajax happy and you really hope that’s true. the man himself knows it’s true, the reality of his little brother’s words when he sees you kneel to meet eyes with teucer, that beautiful smile on your face and the warmest of personalities.

tick tock, tick tock. every second matters and childe hasn’t stopped watching this damn clock. it’s the eighth of november and he’d finally convinced you to take a long hot bath - courtesy of himself, of course. he’d shower you in affection to the last second, from running the bath to adding bubbles and lighting candles.

you’d muse in telling him that your birthday was almost an hour away. he’d reassure you that this bath was to keep you awake until midnight, like you’d both promised each other. in the time you’d been in the bath trying not to prune your skin, childe had pulled every arm and leg decorating your shared apartment.

these months had been meticulous, full of planning and secrecy that childe had struggled to keep underwraps. there was an itinerary for the ninth of november, one he was going to be particular about following to every last detail; the breakfast at your favourite café, a walk in the park with teucer (he’d begged and childe couldn’t resist,) lunch wherever you wanted and your choice of what you want to do in the afternoon. so long as he could get you to a high vantage point but sundown, letting him see you in a golden glow that displays just how ethereal he sees you as daily.

it’s midnight by the time you sneak back out of the bedroom in one of his shirts. sneaky, he thinks with a grin on his face he can’t conceal. even now, blue eyes trace every detail, freckle, spot, flaw and crevice of your body and drinks it into memory.

“happy birthday, baby.” his arms open wide, welcoming you into his chest as you come closer and allow him to wrap them tight around you. he breathes in the familiar scent of your hair products, you’re engulfed in his cologne and the faint smell of the dinner you’d had earlier.

twenty-three years of you existing on this earth, huh? childe could almost choke up at how much you’d grown as a woman since you’d got together. he intended to see even more, until his last dying breath.

“Ouch” Gavi said softly as you helped him out of the car onto his crutches. Your hand supported him as best as you could. ‘Sorry babe’ you lead him inside his apartment to the soft couch. 

Gavi recently sprained his ankle pretty bad in practice and called you to help drive him home from the hospital. Meanwhile you fluffed the pillows behind his back and put one under his sprained ankle to support it. “Okay there you go, does that feel okay?” you asked him, seeing his face of discomfort fade away. 

Nodding his head, “si amor, gracies” he said, giving you a soft smile. You smile back at him while handing him the remote to the TV. “here while you watch and relax, i’ll make us some lunch” you say and lean down to give him a quick kiss. As pull away, his arm quickly pulls you back down again to his lips. “Te amo y/n/n” he says cutely when we pull back. 

“Te amo también pabs” you stand up fully again and walk towards the kitchen “now let me make you the greatest recovery lunch you’ve ever had”. Hearing his laugh behind you made you turn back and give him another smile before disappearing to the kitchen.

While you were near finished preparing you and Gavi’s lunch, you hear Gavi’s calls. “Amorrr” Stopping what you were doing you headed over to the living room to Gavi. “siiii?’ you say seing him lay in the same spot as you left him. 

“Could you get me a blanket? I’m feeling a bit cold” he asked you. Turning you went to the basket that held your blankets that wasn’t that far from the couch but you knew Gavi couldn’t stand up to walk by himself in this moment. “Here you go amor, is there anything else you need?” you ask as you give him the blanket. 

Shaking his head, “no, thank you” you nodded in satisfaction and went back into the kitchen to finish the food. As you were plating the food, you hear Gavi call you again. “Ammorrrr” You sigh and grab the plates heading to the living room 

Walking into the living room while settling the plates down on the small table in front of the couch. ‘Si?'' he looks at you giving his famous puppy eyes, “can i have a glass of water?” he asks, You nod your head and turn around to get him a glass. Returning again you see him already start eating his food. “Here you go, one glass of water” you set it down next to him 

Giving you a smile, he thanks you again before continuing to eat. You eat your own plate and when you both finish you take them to the sink and then start to work a bit on your computer. Typing away in Gavi’s office room, you hear him call a third time. 

“Amorrrr”, ‘mi vidaaa” ,“queridaaa” rolling your eyes you walk to the living room what felt liked the hundredth time with Gavi’s asks. “Yes gavi?” you stand in front putting your hands to your hips.

He gives you a pout and opens his arms wide, “i’m lonely and i need your cuddles” he says to you. You laugh a bit at his cuteness and walk towards the couch, laying next to him in his arms, trying your best to avoid hitting his ankle. He sighs in contentment as soon as his arms wrap around yours. Kissing your forehead in the process, holding you close. You giggle at him ‘you’re such a baby when your injured” He laughs, grabbing your hand into this, ‘but you like it’ he smirked at you. You rolled your eyes playfully, making him laugh again, showing you his dimples. “Gracies por tot mi amor, I love you so much and i’m so glad to have you here” he says. Giving him a big smile, ‘de res pabs” you lean in and kiss his nose.

i’m so forreal that this is my favourite story quest ever, perhaps because i could relate to it but it also shows that in my opinion not a single fontaine character hates the other as of right now. lyney specifically has no bad blood with anyone; he seems to clear it up with wriothesley and sigewinne in the archon quest but having clorinde, navia and charlotte together talking just like a group of friends and they all came together on their own accord to help neuvillette and even furina’s cameo in her reply note shows that she has some assortment of care for his wellbeing and how he shuts himself away. it was incredibly heartwarming to have each fontaine character have a cameo in some form and other than arlecchino telling the fontaine siblings to keep an eye on neuvillette, they all had positive interactions and intentions.

i’m sorry but fontaine is my favourite and it will always be my favourite, nothing can top the amount of love i have for neuvillette’s story quest. that was the best thing that’s ever happened in this game <3

The interviewer asked her about the future she sees for herself and her family after the war. It was so bittersweet💔 She said «Our family will be reunited. We will live together with my husband and my children. …. We will go somewhere. Four of us. Anywhere. It will be a long vacation. For a month»😭😭💔💔💔God is so sad. I still can’t comprehend how hard it must be for all of them to be separated all the time.

Olena also said that after vacation they will think about what to do next. She said something new and creative. I assume she talks about what kind of job or occupation they want to work in.

Also, she doesn’t want him to run for a second term. She said it would be impossible(?)

I wonder what will happen if Ze decides to run for president after the war.(As far as i understand there won’t be any elections in war time) I think it can create a big problem between them and maybe even divorce? i understand Olena just wanting peace after all that happened. But i also doubt that Ze will go against his family and go for second term. And i think he is understandably tired from his presidency to continue🫠

In general, Olena said some bittersweet things on different occassions recently. Like in the interview with the Asian media. As cute as she was (and to a surprising degree relaxed and even being goofy here and there), some of her answers just hit really deep.

So yeah, even more heartbreak to hear her now and to hear these answers. 💔💔💔

I think, we can't even imagine to 100% how much they all suffer from that separation. They obviously have a very, very, very close family bond, filled with lots of love. Adding to that, we know that Vova suffers massively when he's away from Olena (as he said in the past). And this is something entirely different from what they were used to when Vova was away for work and both of them traveled as First Couple or something like that.

And despite them being able to see each other - it's not the same. Also because they are no longer the same.

It was sweet but at the same time so sad when Olena said in the Asian media interview that she tries to let Vova feel the family warmth and give him that, whenever they see each other. And that she tries to talk about family with him as much as possible to distract him and that, for once, they don't talk about these horrible things that are happening around them. (like right now they discussed what to get the kids for St. Nicholas and how they spent the holidays this year and that the prestens are not ready yet)

God alone knows, how much they long for that family and normality.

I would also say, she was talking about their jobs. I mean, they have to do something. Both of them are people who need something to do and can't just sit around.

And they are both creative people. (even though, right now, I have a hard time imagining both of them returning to their old jobs) I mean, there was a time when they both ditched their safe jobs for being creative and making a living with that.

Yeah, I also didn't quite get the impossible part. Maybe it makes more sense with the full interview (maybe the impossible was about him going for two more terms since Vova can only run one more time).

If he decides to run again, it will probably be a very big and difficult decision. He already decided agains this family's wishes the first time (Olena and Sasha were against it, especially Olena). But Olena, because she loves him so much, found her way of dealing with it and supporting him. But if he does that again - it would be something entirely different. I doubt that Olena would forgive him that easily this time, if he decided something like that against her wishes or without letting her know this time.

It's probaby a really torn situation. I can Ze wanting to continue, to rebuild Ukraine, to still help the country and secure many important laws and international relationships and memberships. Also to somehow find a peaceful and good end. But I can also see him going after the war because he no longer wants to do it and everything that happened. The decision about his second term will not be an easy one.

I'm sure they overcome this together. They are strong as a couple and have a really special and deep connection. Their love is something unique and I would say they both know that they have something in the other one they would never find again. The are perfect for each other and belong together. I think, that's something Olena always also says in the subtext of when she talks about their relationship - they endure all of that, stay together, are strong together, because they have each other.
