The wording "landed hard and struggled to find her feet," suggests airtime when Moonflower was flung. Hawkheart is strong enough to basically throw someone, with or without airtime (if you don't read it like that.) He also sent her skidding after basically throwing her AGAIN by the throat. He didn't even use his paws that time. "'I can walk!' she gasped, twisting and clawing at the ground. Swiftbreeze let her find her paws, but as soon as she let go of her kit’s scruff, Leopardpaw collapsed, her legs too shaky to hold her. Swiftbreeze grabbed her again, and Leopardpaw staggered toward the edge of the clearing. Bluepaw followed, her nose filled with the scent of blood and fear and torn fur. 'ThunderClan brought kits!' A gray-flecked WindClan warrior was staring at Bluepaw. Bluepaw stopped and growled at the warrior. 'I’m not a kit!' The WindClan warrior advanced on her, his eyes gleaming. I was born a warrior! she told herself. But her legs wouldn’t stop trembling as the WindClan cat advanced, his whiskers twitching as he unsheathed his claws. 'Hawkheart!' A voice rang across the clearing. Bluepaw recognized Heatherstar, the leader of WindClan. She was at the center of the fighting, with fur bristling and blue eyes wide. Her fierce gaze was fixed on the gray-flecked warrior. 'Get back to tending the injured like you’re supposed to!' she ordered. Hawkheart snarled at Bluepaw. 'Looks like you’re going to have to wait a little longer for your first battle scar,' he sneered before turning away." — Bluestar’s Prophecy, Chapter 9 (broken up for readability) Hawkheart was 100% willing to attack and maim an apprentice that he noted as a kit. As I said earlier, ruthlessness is a key component in battle. If Hawkheart was willing to "fight" a very young apprentice, and killed Moonflower along with flinging her multiple times, what's stopping him from maiming Mudfur? Hawkheart has displayed that he doesn't show restraint, even after being ordered by his leader to heal cats and not fight. He is also described in Pinestar's Choice as "lashing his tail as if waiting for prey" when Moonflower enters the medicine den. He has no qualms about killing even after being told otherwise. He taunted Bluepaw after murdering her mother. He has no regret over this, and justifies his actions as defending the medicine den, even though AGAIN, self-defense was out the window when Moonflower was retreating without his interference. TLDR; Hawkheart wins (imo)
