The Sign Ep 12 (Finale) Stray Thoughts

It's been too long, so I barely remember where we are. We left at Tharn somehow maybe saving Phaya and getting stuck in a cave to maybe say goodbye because Chalothorn threatened him or whatever. Chart got caught for being undercover. The rest of the gang was lost in the woods. Anyway, let's finish this.

Wait, how are they successfully tracking anyone? I thought there was no phone service.

Oh lord don't start death flagging with promises about rings.

Damn, I feel bad for Chart. That final kick delivery was actually pretty good.

Final Verdict: 5.5, Great Gowns, Beautiful Gowns. Overall, I just don't think the elements of this show ever really came together. I think the first two episodes of training and mythology teasers, along with the Lieutenant Tam mystery, made me expect these elements to circle and eventually converge in a more cohesive way. I also feel like some of the side stuff didn't really work. I thought some of the mythology about the Naga and Garuda was really interesting, but I didn't exactly feel the cycle they were stuck in playing out in this drama. I'm also hugely annoyed about the core angst evaporating off screen. So, in the end, I'll mostly remember it as copaganda.

That being said, I thought the cast chemistry was solid, and I really liked the execution and use of the CGI. I like that IdolFactory keeps trying more things, but I do think we need to get stronger script writers and editors in the room with a stronger say on the planning front.

Costume Break Down

aka more than you ever wanted to know about Thai dance costume details but I think they are gorgeous and require so much effort to create and wear that they are worth celebrating.

Let's take a look at Khem's beautiful red costume.

Here the presence of the dagger and the colour choice quite firmly indicate that he is performing the role of the hero Prince Inao from the Lakhon Nai dance drama 'The Romance of Inao.'

His costume is based on the traditional costumes worn by heroes in both Khon and Lakhon Nai. There are some historical differences between the two types but they have very much influenced each other from the 19th Century onwards.

There are some elements of his costume that read as modern influences which I suspect are to reflect both current tastes and also the fact that the costume was intended to be seen on screen rather than a stage.

Here we see Khem's ornate headdress, known as a chada, he has a flower garland on the right side of his crown, which is the side that male characters always wear these flower pendants with heroines displaying them on the left.(Historically Lakhon Nai was only performed by women and was only for the eyes of the royal court although rules did relax in the 19th Century.)

It's hard to see in these pictures but he would usually be wearing the ornate wing shaped ear kaffa as well, which sit around the ears.

We can also see his very fine inthorn-tanu, which are those high pointed shoulder pads, worn by male characters to exaggerate their body shape.

We can see him wearing the ornate wide collar around his neck, known as a krong-kaw and a large pendant pinned to the end of the collar against his chest.

A body chain known as sangwan is then crossed around the pendant and is usually attached to an ornamental belt or just below it, at the front and back of the costume.

Khem's sangwan is a relatively simple looking version of what can be a very intricate piece of jewellery but I suspect it is because the camera will be getting a much closer look at him than an audience looking at a stage could do.

In general I think his costume is not quite as ornate and covered with detail as a stage costume often is but there is just enough there to show the luxurious nature of dance outfits without looking too much on screen.

The above picture also gives us a great look at both his hoy-na, a silk panel that hangs at the front of the costume, (here it is red and gold with gold fringe) and his hoy-kang, the silk panels that sit either side of the central hoy-na.

We also see one very modern addition - the shiny gold buttons!

Traditionally dancers are sewn into their costumes with no visible seams, a lengthy process which does run the risk of damaging the costumes every time they are stitched and unstitched.

I suspect that Apo is still partly sewn into this outfit but I imagine they wanted to give him a top that he could get in and out of more easily as he would need to be able to change constantly for filming.

I really like the design of the top, it gives both a hint of Western influence with the shape but also has a Chinese feel with the high collar and then those beautiful very Indian looking fabrics, which feels appropriate for the era and for Man Suang itself. We see it sits over the pha-nung and hoy-na etc which would not typically be the case and is why I suspect he is not also wearing a cloth belt under it as well (mentioned below.)

The red tights are also a modern addition, usually we would see bare legs and feet but they do give a very theatrical look which feels fitting for Man Suang.

From this angle we can see his pha-nung, which is a long rectangular cloth that is usually pre stitched and pleated and is wrapped around the waist and drawn through the legs to be tied in a knot at the back.

Underneath that he will be wearing a pair of sanab-plao, short trousers with deep embroidered hems that sit just below the knee.

He may also be wearing pha-pawk, which is a fabric that basically functions like hip pads to assist the pha-nung in exaggerating the body shape to create an image that mimics statues and murals depicting dancers.

Usually he would be wearing a radsa-aew, a cloth belt which is stitched into place and secures the pha-nung. I can't tell just by looking at this but I suspect he may not be given the way his clothes are lying.

We can see he is wearing a lovely cloak here that appears to be silk lined velvet.

Here we can see his embroidered sleeves, these are usually sewn on to an undershirt which also has padding sewn into it to exaggerate the shape of their chests. The decorative outer shirt is then usually sewn onto that undershirt.

Now in this picture, we see the fancy sleeves taper off to a plain red fabric at the shoulders which could indicate the presence of an undershirt but there is that clip in the trailer where Khem tugs his costume open and we see his bare chest so I don't know whether he is or isn't. Perhaps it depends on the necessity for him to be able to strip in any given scene which is totally fine by me!

We can also see his decorative golden vambraces and he is likely also wearing beads or a bracelet of rings as well. Usually more is more when it comes to dance jewellery but once again, I think they have been more restrained here.

Rings worn on the fingers are common and of course, anklets are essential.

So we continue to lead our news feed with Twisted wonderland AND THIS IS DAMN THE MOST DESTRUCTIVE EMOTIONAL UPDATE OF THE PLOT.

I love this game so much, you would know, it gives me such an emotional explosion that I need so much in life from time to time.

You can find now a bunch of different interpretations of a more detailed plot from the game. I will pay attention to what I remember the most

First. Grimm is my cute little gremlin/little devil. Scares poor cooks, a married couple hiding in the basement(?) to get brooms for to fly. And the funny thing is… YUU CAN JOIN THIS. YES. TIME TO BE THE MOST DANGEROUS!AND NOT TO SOLVE IT! Don't tell me Yuu doesn't enjoy a little chaos when he and Grimm start making a complete mess.

While the conversation was going on, the sound of a very hungry stomach sounded. Everyone immediately looks at Sebek.

And then this crocodile accuses that it's rumbling in Yuu's stomach! Sebek!!How could you!!Ahahahahahaha. First you say with the stubbornness of the rock that you will not be friends with us, and then you substitute that it is not you who is rumbling in your stomach, but the "person" Yes. Sure. Pffffff.

Sebek continues to deny it. But his rumbling stomach interrupts his own words. Ahahahahahah. Nice guy, just say you're hungry.

Silver DISNEY PRINCESS is already a canon, my dear. Sebek came up with a plan to use this "Princess of Diasomnia" so that they could escape past the knights of the Silver Owl. Use animals as a distraction. They really managed to escape. And when the "Dream" team (Yuu, Grimm, Silver and Sebek) were almost attacked, Lilia came to the rescue. Scolded his "not sons" for something they were inattentive. And Lilia was also attacked by birds thinking that he was dangerous to Silver. OMALVDPOALDVPODA

We were shown the castle of Princess Meleanor. (Mallenoa, it turned out to be not quite the right name from Japanese to English. We were shown how to do it right) This is a frame from the Sleeping Beauty cartoon. Such beautiful backgrounds. I like the visual style.

Lilia proposed to her when he was younger, and Meleanor also said that Lilia also loves Levan. And that they both spent more time together than any married couple.

Well … technically, "love" can be perceived in different ways, as a family, as a friend, as a dear fairy heart, and in romantic or not, everyone decides for himself. Lilia grew up with Meleanor and Levan, in fact, these are the two closest faeries that have been to him throughout his life.

TWST decided to tear our hearts to shreds, I'm not kidding.

….guys…..he's already having a tantrum for the third time probably happening. The screenwriters didn't spare him at all. Like us, too.

It's not like a panic attack, it smells like a nervous breakdown.

And yes, he was dragged away by ink due to the fact that his entire consciousness went to dust.

It wasn't enough for us to have one overblott, IT ALREADY SMELLS LIKE TWO AT LEAST

Sebek, Grimm and Yuu are trying to find Silver lost in the ink. They wander in the dark long a lot and Sebek is worried that we might get lost. Yuu takes them by the hand and Sebek is confused and confused. Phphhavadlp. This guy. Tsundere. You're in our gang, no excuses.

Silver is of course pulled out, Sebek swears with him, fights with him, swears again. He's crying eyes out. And they put up. Silver uses the magic of the ring to pull everyone out of the ink.

Yuu and their poor battered back from all these falls…Ahahahahaha

They notice that behind the Lily's footprints there are traces of knights from Silver Owls and rush to help.

this is the end of the chapter.

Considering that there will be a new event in October.Which will stretch until mid-November? I think that we can expect updates to the plot of the main story in December. Perhaps. But this is not accurate.

As we can see, they try not to "artificially stretch the plot" as sometimes happens. And to work it out carefully and in detail. Keep in mind that we are only approaching the middle of the story somewhere. Because Ortho is still waiting for us with dogs and Styx And the fight is not in a dream with Malleus.

And I reааааааally hope chapter 8 for Yuu and Grimm.

Let's summarize the results.

Silver turned out to be the son of the Knight of the Dawn, immersed in a deep sleep because of the three fairies until the war ends. CANONICALLY SILVER IS TAKEN FROM THE HISTORY OF AURORA And that "only love can wake him up" Lilia, who was staggering next to an abandoned castle for 300/400 years, it is unknown why.

The Sign - final thoughts

I want to start by reasserting what I've said before about companies like Idol Factory. Having production companies being willing to try new things and push the genre is always going to get points from me, even if I don't absolutely love the end result. Much better that than yet another university series that doesn't even attempt to be coherent.

So I am grateful that this show exists, even if I did struggle to maintain my enthusiasm the entire way through.

We'll start with some very solid positives.

Pros:

Idol Factory is so good at identifying talent. The acting was overall great, with some genuine standout performances (Nat as Art, I mean c'mon, just incredible). Heng devoured his role. Gap was an utter delight. Billy swings between horny and angsty like no one else. Babe did amazing for his first series, and I look forward to seeing him develop as an actor.

The talent behind the camera was really strong in some arenas too. The production quality was high, and we got some genuinely beautiful cinematography.

Even characters in small roles were memorable and well-characterized.

The action scenes were pretty solid, for the most part. The underwater stuff looked really, really good.

The sex scenes. Idol Factory knows we are thirsty bitches, and I appreciate that about them. And they were so pretty!

The cast chemistry. It was fantastic.

The premise - I am a sucker for the reincarnation trope, Until We Meet Again has a firm hold on my heart.

Some genuinely interesting ideas around karma and fate and determinism.

Getting to see more of Thai culture and mythology.

Cons:

This part hurts, because I really was so obsessed with this series in the beginning. I think it was mostly a writing issue, but there's some big flaws in the story construction that became apparent as we got further along. The interweaving of the past & present, the cop storyline with the mythology storyline...it got a bit clunky.

There were a number of planted seeds that never bore fruit. The Abott being set up as a powerful ally to then be completely nerfed in the last episode. Chalothon being set up to be punished for refusing to give up his quest of vengeance, but that never happening. Tharn being told multiple times he needs to learn to fight for his love, and then he just...doesn't. (Unless you consider talking to Chalothon for a year "fighting").

Really clunky setup at times - we've spent almost no time with Khem and Tongthai, and then suddenly a ring, and then suddenly he's shot, and then suddenly he's fine.

Relatedly, I genuinely can't believe that for their final scene, they had Tharn run in and just tell Phaya that Chalothon had entirely changed as a person and was now in support of them. Why wouldn't you have at least one scene of Tharn & Chalothon talking? I get that show don't tell is not universal for every situation, but it was hella important here! That was a genuine wtf moment. It would have been so powerful to see Tharn finally break through to Chalothon, after centuries of hurt.

The flashbacks. I get that they had to use a ton of the budget for CGI, but I rather wish they had either done the flashbacks in the green screen space they used for Phaya being unconscious, or just used a black stage. It just felt like the cast in costumes running around in the woods, which, admittedly, it was. But it took me out of the immersion, and made them less impactful.

I will still watch anything Billy does, and I'm excited to see where Idol Factory goes from here. And someone needs to do a Gap/Yoshi series stat.

I had complaints about this show, but I still enjoyed myself overall and I LOVED this finale. It was a really good and entertaining finale.

Was Tharn reinstated? Cause he's like “I'm gonna arrest Montree” but he’s suspended? Can he even do that? He might have been reinstated in the last episode, but I can't remember. Oops. lol

Khem is about to get shot. It's dark and he and Thongthai are outside and I saw the preview and I literally have a pit in my stomach. Because I know what's gonna happen and no. NO.

HE GOT SHOT SAVING HIS MAN AND FELL WITH THE NECKLACE WITH THEIR RING CAUSE THEY WERE GONNA GET MARRIED IT’S BEEN YEARS And this is also why like they probably shouldn't have had Khem and Thongthai on the same team because Khem whole ass threw himself in front of his man and then Thongthai was basically useless cause it's not like he was gonna be able to do a motherfucking thing once his man was fucking shot.

CHART NO AGAIN HOW MANY TIMES IS THIS MAN GONNA GET SHOT

I don't even care about the supernatural shit and the rest of this after Khem got shot right in Thongthai’s arms. We can shut this whole damn episode down.

Oh okay. No Chart and Khem aren't dead. We have a throwaway line that Khem (and Chart) are “safe” and thus not dead. Okay. We can continue this episode. I'm good. Khem’s at the hospital and, even if I never see him for the rest of this episode, I can rest knowing he will be getting dicked down by Thongthai in “we’re alive and getting married” marathon sex once he recovers. My boys WILL be married in the special episode y'all keep mentioning is happening. I know this.

Okay, like, Montree is evil, don't get me wrong. But he kept being like “why won't you just leave me alone” in the warehouse like he's not a drug dealing murderer and then he refuses to confess and is unfazed by a whole damn Naga showing up and capturing him. And it’s a mood how much he doesn't give a fuck. Man said he don't care about anything. lol

Aww Yai and Sand. Yai and his hot ass wife. He couldn't resist telling her she was beautiful. Man loves his brother and his hot ass wife. I love him.

I'm fairly confident we won't see anyone else from the cop side the rest of the episode, maybe Yai cause he's Tharn's brother, but that's it. But you know what. My fucking boy is alive and so is his man and they will be getting married. So I won. I win, you lose, ah ha.

I'm guessing this is the scene Babe mentioned was hard cause it's a love scene but he's sad cause he knows he's gonna leave Phaya but Phaya doesn't know that. I do wish we had seen him negotiate this with Chalothon. Like “fine I'll go with you, but you gotta let me have one more night to get that dick.” 

Paid $16 and the damn ass blur is still there? Pardon me? 

Phaya loves Tharn so fucking much. He is out here freaking out. Running around aimlessly. Baby. Baby boy.

Okay, also, Tharn. Love. You had to know Phaya wasn't just gonna let you leave? Asking why he followed you. Babe. Baby. Babes. He's always gonna follow you.

Though the hair and facial hair already told me that mental health is hanging on by a thread and that thread is fraying baby.

THE SQUAD IS HERE TO FIND THARN. My boy is fucking alive and with his babe! And Sand is here too! Mine and Yai’s girl! I didn't even see the fine ass Captain, but he’s there too. Is he joining the search or is he trying to get Phaya to start living again? Regardless, even he came down. I love that. In another life he was Tharn's brother. Though Phaya has clearly given up on life. Which again, that hair and facial hair already showed that.

Is this a real thing or is Phaya dreaming??? I know they said it's the 15th day on the 11th moon or something so the Naga can come out so I'm guessing it's real? THE SNAKE DOCTOR FINALLY GAVE THARN UP??? Okay, I love this. I need the second thing they do after getting off this hill is cut Phaya’s hair and shave him. The first thing is fuck, obviously.

I spent a crazy evening thinking about Raphael and brought one small and one bigger idea to you

Raphael who loves, so I guess it's a fluff

I want Raphael to cry into his pillow because he has fallen in love with Tav, who is already serving one of the archdevils. So that he would scurry through the forests and halls watching him from afar, accidentally found himself at every event where they would be.

and so that in a few more thousand years, when he has the crown and he marches through hell victoriously, Raphael will take his soul out of the deepest pit and appoint a perplexed poor man to delight his gaze

Raphael, who conquers avernus and can already butt heads with other archdukes, orders some Tav and his contract to be stolen from another hell..... (I want him to grow up in hell, at the court of Mammon, because he was taken away as the most valuable fruit, and later he became a warlock)(well, because stealing a sorcerer from the personification of greed is FUN)

so that this surprisingly calm creature is thrown in front of his throne.

Tav looks around, everything in the throne room is too big for her, but it's familiar feeling

"Khem, it is an honor for me to appear before the new Archduke Averno, but.... What can I do for you?"

Raphael does not deign to pay attention to her, as well as a dozen guards stationed in the hall. He reads her contract carefully, the girl understands this and confusion is visible in her eyes.

"Introduce yourself"

The girl was enlivened by Raphael's words and she straightened up to answer

"My name is Tav, I am the warlock of Mammon"

"What kind of work do you do?" Raphael spoke without emotion, without looking up from the contract in his hands

"I can kill someone, negotiate, be an ambassador, whatever the master wants"

The girl tries to keep up with dignity, but the atmosphere of uncertainty presses on her. She digs her hands harder into the strap of the bag that hangs on it.

"What's in your bag?"

seemed like exactly the wrong question to ask her. The girl was lost, but between mortals it would have been a common question.

"Um, potions scrolls and documentation"

"What kind of documentation?"

"As a punishment, I am engaged in economic documentation of the yard"

"And do you consider this a punishment?"

Raphael finally squinted his gaze towards the guest

"For small flaws, mostly from the master's bad mood, but no, it was not a burden to me dealing with paperwork"

"How fortunate, and do you know much about the internal affairs of Mammon's court?"

The obvious reason for staying here cautiously reached the girl.

"I know a lot, but the contract forbids me..."

Tav did not have time to finish and the sound of parchment tearing was heard in the hall. Raphael calmly tore the contract into two parts, Tav watched in some fright as the paper sank to the floor and turned into ashes

"Oh, it doesn't forbid it now."

Now the fright was much clearer in her, she hunched over a little and hid her eyes on the floor. the girl swallowed nervously. Is she going to be interrogated and killed now? It's probably like true

"Now we can discuss more"

and ooooh, they really can discuss a lot.

firstly, Raphael can instruct her to deal with the documentation of the yard, change the load, make it bigger and smaller, everything will always be perfect. Tav never complained, and yet when he made the load absurdly heavy, she once fell asleep on him during a planned walk. they didn't talk about this moment and he didn't overdo it anymore.

and secondly.

their conversations, first she will be interrogated, then Raphael will schedule regular meetings with them, allegedly because of the politician. In fact, the bored Archduke will take his nightingale everywhere and lead her to talk about everything: books, magic, food, the history of hell.

Tav really knows everything he expects. And the Archduke likes to listen to her voice. He had been looking at her from afar for too long, and now his nightingale was next to him, belonged to him.

The devil knows that now, no matter what awaits him, even the war with the other eight hells, in his kingdom, in his golden cage, there is a little bird that is always waiting, always looking at him fearfully and ready to discuss the book they talked about last time. No matter how frightening the archdevil was, his crown-like horns, cloak, and shoulder pads made him deceptively large. It doesn't matter, he's too well ingrained in the little thing's trust.

These regular meetings of the archdevil and the little man, in the throne room, on the terrace, in the library, it seems they used all the places available in the flying fortress.

Tav doesn't understand the purpose of these meetings, but is there any reason for discontent?

The Archduke is extremely kind to her. He's even... Is he handsome? It's probably not strange because the girl grew up in hell. His face is so big, cherry-colored, noble cheekbones, signs of advanced age, his hooked nose.

She likes the way his eyes sparkle in the dark corners of the citadel, of which there are plenty, the two brightest eclipses for her. The devil's gaze is harsh for everyone, but looking at her, he softens. His lace collar? Perhaps this is too delicate a detail for the archdevil's clothes.

He usually talks to the servants insinuatingly, often just doesn't listen and tells them to get out with his hand. His hands... In his new rank, Raphael abused jewelry more. For sure, his smallest ring will be dangling on her thumb. The devils' hands are made to tear apart, but these only rest on the armrests, gesticulate moderately into the sunset and even put their arm around her shoulder as they pass through the crowd of fiends. As if they would really dare to hurt her, as if they didn't make way enough when their master appeared.

If the duke is angry, it always spreads quickly around the court. In this case, he comes to meetings and is silent. Tav needs to take the initiative herself, at some stage of her story he will join the conversation as if nothing had happened. The Archduke's great privilege is his voice, as if he is much bigger and speaks directly into the back of your head, the sound embraces your head from all sides.

It's scary when he takes the initiative, and it's like he's digging it up, moving from questions about the book to her personal ones.

"What do you like? And how do you feel? What would you like?" Questions that demolish the load-bearing walls in the protection of the Tav and she has to sort out the rubble and rebuild them. Anything you say will be used against you, she has long understood this rule, but now it has stopped working and it was confusing.

She plays along with him, but the girl herself is tormented by questions, what is this performance for? The devil obviously knows all this better than she does. First, she would try to ask his closest servants such a question, and then he himself.... but what he will answer, think for yourself

(For sure, Raphael has a specially prepared servant for this, who at this moment should call him on urgent business. So that he could tell her

So, first Wela injured himself. And now Seji’s shirt is fucked. What’s next?

Japan is so fucking sweet. He doesn’t want to minimize Ken’s love for Seji by taking the shirt to Seji when Ken has spent his time fixing it. And the way he looks after Ken when Ken leaves the room… Pan will be the one who mentions poly first, won’t he? I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t.

Shirtless Great!

Great’s aerial routines are always great. He’s basically doing pole dancing in the air. That takes skill.

Obviously, Wela would fall. And obviously, Khem would get up on stage and help him.

I’ve got to give props to these actors for learning how to do all that. And working up the strength to do it... That’s not done overnight.

How is it possible that I’ve thought Khem’s dad was dead this whole time?! For some reason, I thought Khem’s aunt was taking care of Khem because his dad wasn’t alive anymore and then that just stuck in my mind, I guess.

Finally, Seji, Pan, and Ken are in the same room at the same time. Come on, give me what I want.

I love Pan so fucking much. I’ve been saying for episodes that I thought he would be the glue that kept this together, and here he is making the throuple happen. And all three of them seem okay with it. I would be lying if I said I didn’t shed a tear during this scene because I did.

The way I fucking laughed at the 5th rule scene and everyone saying they were (or would be) breaking it, even Freya.

OMG, shirtless Pan, Ken, and Seji are in the same frame being all happy together. I think I just went to heaven.

That was a nice ending to this series. Am I happy with the throuple? YES! Do I wish there were more throuple moments? Abso-fucking-lutely! Give me a second season with just the three of them (plus Great and James). Please. And thank you!

Deep Night Ep 3 Thoughts

Like I said, no self control. And things on my street seemed to have quieted down…for now. I am starting to get sleepy so let’s see how rambly I get. Time for Deep Night 3: A Case of the Sleepies:

I cannot believe it took only 3 seconds after typing that for a car playing the strangest music to drive by. Its still here. Stopped by the light. I have questions. Are they summoning an alien? Are they a forgotten deity trying to regain their lost power? What’s going on with that music?

I want Pan and Seiji to kiss SO BAD. 

Why are there no boys in cages actually?

The vocals in this opening are keeping me from skipping it and that is truly impressive. I have been kindly informed me this OST is by Fellow Fellow and now I have a new obsession. 

Hear me out. Deep Night but women hosts. Wearing beautiful gowns. Still all of the clients are women. Do you see it? Do you see my vision?

This show is surprisingly wholesome?? This is not computing in my brain. I don’t know why I was expecting to be so toxic but I am LIVING for these two sweeties. I hope nothing bad happens

In fact, I tuck them both into bed. I get them a cup of cocoa and read them a bed time story. Then I place a gentle kiss on their foreheads and whisper sweet dreams before leaving them a good night’s rest. They sleep while I hit on Khem’s mom.

I give these subtitles a C+. They’re doing their best but there are some…issues. 

The jealousy I actually don’t mind here. I think they’re playing this out well. I mean, of course Khem’s jealous. And of course Wela is worried about it. 

What is this? COMMUNICATION? In MY BL? I think I might actually sob I love this. 

The music during this make out session has me feeling some type of way. I don’t know if its making me nervous or not.

See. The thing is. I desperately want to watch episode 4. But I am sleepy. And I work tomorrow. And I need to take a shower and wash my hair. So I need to stop. Which is incredibly rude. to answer your question, i really liked mansuang!

i've only watched it once till now (at a discord watch party) so i'll be able to fully appreciate it when i watch it again several times hehhehehehe (real life has been very hectic sigh)

it was tong who stole the show for me...his acting is BRILLIANT and he looks exquisite and OWNS every scene he's in...from the eccentric tankhun in kpts to the poised hong in mansuang i'm in AWE of tong's range....the way hong (tong;s character in the film) navigates the politics, the mystery and the lies around him...and comes into his own being in the film is noteworthy

apo's character khem JUST CANNOT CATCH A BREAK OMG POOR BABY....i think khem easily would have the maximum screentime in the film (but don't quote me on that lol) and it's through khem's life and challenges and exploitation that we get to understand the socio-political climate of that era in thailand so he IS the carrier of the film's plot and what the film on the whole tried to achieve (present the thai culture of that period to the rest of the world through an intriguing plot and really fucking pretty clothes and people)....apo in those dance costumes and make-up is a SIGHT TO BEHOLD....man they did not cut corners in that department lol...it's apo's film...there's no doubt about it

as a mile enthusiast i was a little disappointed coz i felt that there's not enough of my man in the film lol...and whenever he is onscreen, he's generally sharing the space with others...and in a way where he is not the centre of attention...but otherwise i loved his character and his acting...tbh i was VERY impressed with mile in kpts so i was hoping he could show more of his acting prowess here too (which would have required more screentime for him)...however i understand that 1. this is a film, not a series 2. mile is not playing the main character and 3. the fact that he doesn't draw attention to himself too much IS part of good acting in this case heheheehee

bas was great! his character's trauma and his portrayal of that is commendable...sad about the ending though...but i understand his motivations and that he was processing the current ongoing through the lens of his personal trauma so he was bound to make some decisions (tm) which led to the outcome....bas as wan was truly a revelation

special shoutout to all the baddies in the film....they were truly despicable....great job

Chapter 17 no work but lots of developments!

We start off at a Thai bbq restaurant. Thongthai brought he 5 year old brother and everyone thinks he's the cutest. The news is covering the case they just closed. Phaya is putting food on Tharn's plate and Yai notices how flirty they are being. Phaya announces they are dating. Everyone asks if he's serious or if it's April fools and how long. The Captain smugly says she knew. She sensed it from day one. If anyone gives them trouble, she says she'll give them demerits until they don't have any time off .

Phaya says they are lucky that they knew right away they wanted to be exclusive. Tharn is embarrassed. Khem notices and teases him when his face turns red. Singh congratulates him. Yai keeps giving them looks. When they go to leave for the night, Yai asks Tharn to come back with him. Tharn says he was going to go with Phaya but Yai is worried. Phaya tells him he won't break Tharn's heart. Tharn punches Yai's arm and says how can they not be serious. Yai is worried that Phaya's father won't allow them to be together. Phaya says not to worry he'll handle it. Tharn asks Yai to stop making a scene.

After they leave, Phaya asks how long Tharn has known Yai. Tharn says they've known each other since grade four or five. That they are basically brothers and Yai was there for him when his father died. They get to Phaya's grandmas house. Tharn asks how to behave. Phaya tells him to be himself.

His grandmother asks Tharn to come close to see him better. She looks between them and says it must be destiny. Phaya is worried but she assures him that no matter how far apart they are it doesn't matter if they are destined. She pulls out a golden ring of Tharn and says it's a family heirloom. It's carved with a saying: with love I own...eternally for you. Grandma says to consider it an engagement ring. Tharn and Grandma become fast friends making Phaya feel like a third wheel. She gets tired and goes to bed.

Phaya asks about the ring asking if he's accepting the proposal. Tharn says he can't refuse a gift from an elder. Phaya says if he's keeping the ring he must accept his proposal. Tharn says they just started dating. Phaya retorts they have known each other a long time. Tharn thinks it's because they met as children. Phaya means their past lives and thinks of the different versions Tharn has been: a woman, a man, a girl, a boy, a dog, and a bird. Phaya says if he wants to know Tharn will have to force it out of his mouth with Tharn's mouth.

Tharn leans is close enough for their noses to touch and says: dream on, asshole. So Phaya grabs him by the nape of his neck and kisses him deeply. It ends with a bite of his lips and Tharn wrapped in his arms. Tharn starts to curse him out and kisses him back. Wraps his arms around Phaya's neck and presses their bodies together. Phaya moves them to the bed where they continue kissing.

When they separate, Tharn says he forced him with kisses so spill his guts. Phaya didn't answer right away and pulls Tharn to lay on his chest. Phaya eventually says they've known each other since their past lives. Tharn asks if he's joking and Phaya says he's completely serious. Tharn asks how their past was and Phaya says Tharn loved him and did everything for him. Phaya says he never did anything for Tharn and didn't realize he loved him until he had already lost him. Phaya is lying there with tears in his eyes. Tharn snuggled into his chest and wonders of Phaya saw his past and felt lost.

Phaya says: I lost you in my past lives, but in this life, I'll never let you go

Tharn says how could he lose him? He's right here. He's not going anywhere. They kiss again and Phaya tells him he's making it hard to control himself. Tharn isn't ready for more so they just kiss and cuddle some more.

Tharn says he needs to sleep at his own place the next night. There wasn't much work so it was a light day. Tharn went home and Chalotorn shows up saying they have an appointment. Tharn apologizes for forgetting and asks if they can do the appointment in his apartment. Chalotorn asks why he hasn't seen Tharn in days. Tharn tells him he started a relationship with Phaya. He smiles but it doesn't reach his eyes and asks if they can get started. Tharn lies on his couch and closes his eyes. Chalotorn's eyes change to red and he pulls out a gemstone and mumbles something and places it on Tharn's forehead which he doesn't notice as he's under a spell.

We flash forward three months. Phaya took Tharn to meet Darawan. Tharn was nervous at first but they become friends quickly. Still nothing exciting happening at work. Phaya takes Tharn to his house once a week but they rarely meet his family. This time it's planned so they can announce they are dating. His sister already knew as she's friends with Dao. She almost blurts out that she replaced the book that Phaya borrowed that was originally Chalotorn's. Phaya bribes her into not saying anything. In the middle of dinner, Tharn gets a call from his grandmother to tell him his mom is sick. Very sick and may not live another month.

Phaya takes Tharn home. Tharn apologizes that he couldn't stay for dinner with his parents. Phaya says forget it and let him know to tell him if he needs anything. Phaya takes Tharn to the airport and sees him off.

Todays SWTOR session with @thebreadtree and a mutal friend:

Tlice became a Pirate! And flirted with everyone he could. The funniest part was when I asked Bread if Tlice could flirt with a random NPC called Kareena, and not two seconds later, there was a flirt option. The best part is that I'm currently skipping through almost all the cutscenes because of a short attention span, but as soon as I see a flirt button, I'm invested again.

This was the first screenshot of the entire gang, and both their characters look upset with what is happening while Tlice just stands there with no thought behind his eyes.

Then we encountered a headless NPC (the steal Breads joke: "So no head?"). Also, don't question the markers above our heads. It was way funnier having all of us running around with silly markers.

There is the gang looking at the sky because what else would we be looking at? I definitely did not forget what happened here, no no, this is definitely more than just an aesthetic screenshot.

While holding hands with Lana two days ago was way too much for Tlice, kissing Theron was just the natural choice xD

At this point I do want to mention again that Tlice is supposed to romance Khem Val later.

Last comment about the session: Bread was the best babysitter. She not only had to carry me but also our friend. And we (I) didn't make it easier for her by always splitting up. This is what I imagine Bread looked like while we played:

You Can Touch, But He's Mine (Deep Night Smutfic)

First, a confession: I got so excited about talking about The Shop At The End, I almost forgot you also asked about this fic 🙈

You Can Touch, But He's Mine is a KhemWela oneshot smutfic born out of my frustration with Khem in episode 3 when he got all jealous and started being a bloody asshole to everybody.

The premise in simple: Khem loves watching Wela work as a host. He loves watching the customers gaze longingly at Wela and his current company, claw for a few hours of Wela's time and spend fortunes for his attention. Khem loves showing those same customers to the taxi stop in the early hours of the morning, loves seeing them off and loves being the one who gets to take Wela home to strip him of his carefully coordinated outfits and host persona.

Also, I should probably mention that Wela's outfit for the night has had me look at these for inspiration:

The Shop At The End

Thank you for asking about The Shop! I didn't realise how much I've missed this story until I started writing about it and couldn't stop myself!

@welcometothelairofthebitchking also asked about The Shop At The End, so you can find a snippet from the beginning of the story over in their answer!

As mentioned in the WIP list, The Shop At The End was originally a fanfic idea. I have plotted, written and rewritten it quite a few times but before I could finish it, I made the desicion to stop writing for that fandom. BUT (as with When I Grow Up) I was too in love with the story to give up on it, which is why I am now considering how I can rewrite it into an original story.

It is (surprise surprise) centered around a magic shop run by Lili, a succubus (we Do Not Ask about her Age) and her young assistant - the main character - who may or may not be an incubus and/or magician and may or may not also be aroace (so many delicious desicions to reconsider now that I'm no longer guided by an existing canon).

Around them circle a cast of social outcasts, including a vampire, a pack of werewolves and a dwarf exiled from the mines. There's also my favourite character, Andrea/Cameron (I keep changing my mind), a nonbinary shape shifter who changes their apperance to fit the extravagant fashion choice of the day. They resigned from the police in a rather spectacular fashion to write erotica and open a book store selling porn as a front for behind the counter (in the attic) forbidden, dark magic texts. They are one of the reasons I can't turn my back on this story.

The plot needs quite a bit of reworking now that it's not going to be a fanfic anymore, but my thoughts keep returning to it for the vibes alone! It's quite comfy to mentally sit in the shop for a while...

Think warm sunlight shining in through the curved storefront and a fat cat sleeping in the display window. Think herbs and amulets and knick-knacks hanging from the ceiling. Think rich, almost ghibli-like interiors with polished wood and brass detailing and light glinting off glass phials. Think hundreds of little drawers all marked with handwritten labels such as human teeth, adult and bone dust, mixed or claws, werewolf and skulls, mice.

Think polite smiles and ironed shirts and buttoned vests. Think black market wares hidden in the back and ingredients measured on brass scales and payments made in gold.

Think shady dealings and questionable favours and bribed cops. Think surprise raids and rumours spreading over pints of beer, rumors about something going on that is keeping the coppers busy, about strangers approaching those around you with promises of change, about the calm before a storm.

And when society comes looking for the main character to be their hero, think: "Why should I sacrifice myself to help all of you, when all you have ever done is shun me?"

Long after the dusk has faded, warm reds and purples blending indiscriminately into lonely shades of black; long after the crowd dissipates, the remaining guests now subdued – haze and smoke making them lazy; long after the taphon’s beat had echoed in his ears, synchronizing with the rhythm of his heart, blood rushing, alive.

Nighttime is Khem’s favorite time of day because he gets to see Chat.

He sees him all the time, but not like he does at night – tucked away and hidden, no one but the two of them, in Khem’s room.

They spend their time talking, laughing, teasing, and bantering with each other over the soft lantern light; Chat’s eyes always shine a certain way with the flames so near, glittering with… something Khem can’t quite place. He doesn’t know if there’s a word in their language to describe the way Chat looks at him like he does.

He hopes he finds one.

Sometimes, the conversation lulls and comfortable silence settles between them: Khem beside Chat, legs spread just enough so their knees can touch, feeling skin through silky linen. Khem’s face still heats at the anticipation that builds – no matter how many nights they’ve spent together like this, how many times he’s had Chat’s lips, and tongue, and teeth – his cheeks still warm, his heart still pounds, and that swelling feeling in his gut still rises, swooning when Chat finally, finally, places a hand on his inner thigh, thumb rubbing soothing circles into it.

Khem shivers and tenses, feeling his breath quicken when he notices him staring – and it’s different this time: his eyes are bottomless, empty, hungry, and he wonders if Chat can read the wanton expression on his own face. He’s sure he looks somewhat like the patrons of Man Suang: dreamy and debauched – face tilted up with eyes only just slit open; if this is the feeling people chase here, Khem can understand why. His entire body tingles from Chat’s gentle touches, wandering hands making his skin vibrate beneath his clothes.

He prays the feeling will never end.

Afterward, when the moon begins to wane in the night sky, still glooming bright with the twinkling stars, they lie together on the futon in a heap of tangled limbs. They talk again, slow, purposeless words with drooping eyelids, Khem’s face buried in the safety of Chat’s neck, feeling him trace aimless patterns, love letters, Chat had teased once, into his shoulder.

They prolong the time as much as they can, dozing on and off in each other’s company until the morning birds wake them at dawn, shattering the illusion they had built in the privacy of Khem’s quarters. Any moment now, the rest of the den will rise, and Chat and Khem will return back to how they usually are – longing glances and secret smiles – until the night comes for them once again.

Nighttime is Khem’s favorite time of day because he gets to see Chat.

Bendy and the Dark Revival: Trailer Review

 Attention! This post contains spoilers for the new trailer of the game Bendy and the Dark Revival!

LET’S START, SHALL WE!

Let’s begin with a huge WHAT THE HELL????? There is so much in this trailer and so many details! I rewatched it a few times already and noticed something new every time! So we have a looooot to unpack.

I will discuss the trailer and theorise about what might happen and what could some things mean. I will be more than happy to hear your own theories based on the trailer! I’ll make a separate hashtag for it, so I don’t lose all of it :). Maybe when the game comes out, we could go through some of those theories again and see, if we did guess something right.

Also sorry in advance if my screenshots aren’t very high quality, I’m working with what I have here, and what I have isn’t always good XD

Onto the trailer!

It starts with a short cutscene of Audrey at her drawing desk. A detail I noticed while making the screenshots, is that it seems to be dark outside and she’s either completely alone at the studio, or there aren’t that many people around for the purpose of making the player concentrate only on the main character, hahaha. 

We also have a screenshot from the Bendy Store website showing more of her workplace. Well would you look at that! She has Henry’s picture hanging on her wall :))

I’m pretty sure this is how the game starts. And since we were told that the game is separated into chapters again, I assume that in the first chapter we will explore the layout of the place she works in more and play as the normal Audrey, before she gets covered in ink and shit hits the fan. I’ll stick with the theory that Audrey works for Nathan Arch and not in Joey’s Studio, because this place looks VERY different from what we’re used to.

I also assumed that she might be a replacement for Henry when he left, mainly because of his drawing on her wall. But it might also indicate that she’s either his relative or that little girl asking Joey to tell more stories at the end of the first game... hm. But it looks like the game finds itself a few years later after the events of the first game. Like, for example, we were shown that Audrey drew with colours, which means it’s the era of coloured animation. The first full-color animated film was released in 1930s and became frequent by 50s and her hairstyle and clothes seem to line up. MY PROBLEM IS THAT JDS WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1929 AND OPERATED FOR 30 YEARS. SO EITHER THE DEVELOPMENT OF CARTOON INDUSTRY IN THE BENDY UNIVERSE IS VERY SLOW, OR THEY ALL DECIDED TO STICK WITH THE OLD FASHIONED “DRAWING ONE MOVEMENT FOR 10 HOURS BY HAND ON PAPER WITHOUT ANY COLOR” TECHNIQUE FOR MUCH LONGER THAN THEY SHOULD’VE, BECAUSE THE CARTOONS WERE IN COLOR ALREADY LIKE 10 YEARS AFTER THE STUDIO WAS ESTABLISHED. AM I MISSING SOMETHING?????

khem. Anyway.

When the shot with the corridor appears, we hear a loud noise and Audrey saying “What was that?”. It sounds like something opened or turned on in the building. It doesn’t show what that was or what happened, but I guess she went to check it out, because it’s totally safe and a good idea to go towards scary loud noises [thumbs up]. 

We’re cut straight to a new character, who is probably either the main antagonist or one of the main antagonists alongside other characters that we’re more familiar with (Alice, Ink Demon, etc.).

WELCOME THE CREPPY OLD GUY AKA WILSON!

He is greasy, he is ugly, he looks like someone made a human version of Carver from Showdown Bandit that looks too much like Singed from Arcane. It seems like this is the Unknown guy that was talking to us in the Gameplay Trailer. I really hoped that it’ll be Nathan, but this dried out fig will do too. 

Before I talk a little more about the zombification of Peter Capaldi, let’s look at this screenshot a little more. Behind him is something that looks like a mini version of the Ink Machine. It might be the thing that turned Audrey into the inky mess she’ll be for the rest of the game. But there are also some kind of posters about what seems to be... a movie? About Joey Drew? It’s called “Joey Drew: The Man and the Demon”, and is produced by the Arch Gate Pictures (HOORAY! MY ASSHOLE OF A BOY IS CANON IN THE GAME, HALLELUJAH!). Since the location we’re in still looks like the place we’re started off in, it supports my theory that Audrey works for Nathan. 

Back to the human cotton swab aka Wilson. Since he refers to our main girl by her first name, it seems like he knows Audrey or was at least told about her.

After his appearance there are a couple of shots showing Audrey transforming into her inky form, so to say. This is what she will look like for the rest of the game. The way they cut to her panicking while turning into an ink creature right after introducing our new baddie, makes me think that Wilson turned her into an ink creature. Maybe he like... poured ink on her or smth?

Now let’s make a little stop here, because while I was writing, the official Bendy Twitter account shared this picture:

First of all, I want to assume that it’s not an only reference we will get. Maybe we will see one for Allison or maybe even our new ugly antagonist, Wilson! Let’s go through it first, shall we?

- They deliberately point out, that Audrey was unwillingly pulled into the cartoon world of Bendy. - She has unique mysterious powers. Something that Henry did not have. Which means I have no clue what she can and cannot do. - And there is a new evil at work in the studio. I’m pretty sure they mean Wilson, because there aren’t any new evil characters who could play a big role in the story, except that male version of Annabelle Doll.

And she’s working those hips, like damn girl, looking sharp!

Anyway, I don’t really have much to say about it yet. I will point out stuff about her design later in the review though!

Anyway, back to the trailer.

Now you can notice those familiar textures and the color scheme. We’re in the Joey Drew Studios, aka now “Bendy’s Cartoon World”, as referred to in Audrey’s bio. I have two options for why we’re suddenly in JDS. It’s either:

- Hidden under the Arch Gate Facility like the Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzaplace under the Pizzaplex in Security Breach or - Audrey’s tripping balls and sees everything like that because of her new shiny lightbulbs that replaced her eyes.

Both theories are standing on legs made out of cheap dry plasticine and have almost no points that could’ve supported them (except Wilson actually being supposedly present in the studio at all times), but oh well! Let’s put THAT nonsense aside and look at some new shiny shots of the JDS! Oh, wait, we’ll look at a crucified Lost One first.

It looks like this guy went through some... extreme bullcrap. But oh wait! Is that- Is that what I think it is?! The new weapon that I keep referring to as the Gold Blitz?!... are we going to just... rip it out of this guy?... Oof.

By the way, from now on, I will always refer to this mechanism as the Gold Blitz, because I’m used to it and I can’t really tell what it’s supposed to be in general. So until we get a clear explanation on what it is and what it’s called, you’ll have to deal with my creative choices.

Other than the obvious rehearsal of some biblical events, we have “Demon Follower” written on the wall next to the Lost One. I assume that being a Demon (pretty sure they mean Bendy) Follower here is strictly prohibited and... very creatively punished. Which is a pretty drastic difference from the first game, where the Lost Ones and Sammy were more known as Ink Demon’s followers. But the Ink Demon and support towards him being vilified is a pretty big deal here. During some other shots, we hear a monologue from no other than a less sexy Morty from Hello Puppets Wilson:

(I couldn’t understand some of the words he said, but the overall meaning is clear, I think) “[...] Children of the Machine. For 211 days you’ve lived without the Ink Demon haunting your [?]. I banished him away. In return, I ask just a little favour. There is a stranger. Bring her to me!” (I’ll come back to that last part later)

After some very VERY beautiful shots of the locations that I’ll show shortly after this, we have those posters, saying “Relax, Wilson Knows Your Purpose”. Wilson here is called “The Man Who Killed The Ink Demon”.

Now here’s a little spelling game! Can you spell “PROPAGANDA”? If you need a hint, I can give you a sentence where this word can be used: “This is a clear case of propaganda and manipulation that shows Wilson as the true hero and saviour, who supposedly got rid of the Ink Demon and freed everyone!”

Now, I can’t really say that the Ink Demon is good, because he clearly isn’t. But Wilson is lying, because we do get to see Ink Demon later in the trailer and we have others talking about him. Did this walking example of what lung cancer does to a person brainwashed the Lost Ones into thinking they are safe? It portrays him as a great leader who can easily manipulate other people into believing him, because “Oh, he saved us from this big threat we experienced! We owe him!”.

I think those are some obvious things and a pretty good introduction to a completely new character. I’ll be very surprised if I was wrong with my theory on who he is and what his motives are XD.

NOW LET’S LOOK AT THOSE PRETTY SHOTS OF THE STUDIO I TALKED ABOUT BEFORE!

Look at those details that aren’t distinguishable because of the poor quality of my screenshots!

Okay, jokes aside, it does look extremely pretty. I don’t really have anything else to say about this shot. It’s just. It’s just so much better. Here, have a screenshot of the same location in the first game. DO YOU SEE WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT?

Although we’ve been waiting for a long LONG time, I am still glad that they took their time with the game. It has so much more to itself and the new design, graphics and overall look make the wait worth it. I’m going to enjoy the hell out of this game when it comes out.

And here’s the other shot! There are... so many details. Clearly this is a cafeteria/canteen or something like that. Honestly looks even like a bar to me, which doesn’t really fit the fact that it’s a fricking studio, but there are many other things that make you question the definition of the word “studio” in this game, so we’ll look over it for now.

I can’t really recognise anything special here except maybe those 3 signs that look like licence plates.

One of them has 414 written on it, because of course it does. I dunno why it has 210 first, I didn’t find anything. The other says “OUTATIME” and the third is “SLW-287R”. Those reference the license plate of the DeLorean Time Machine from “Back to the Future” and Mr. Bean’s car. Nothing else, really, haha.

Of course we also have our beloved Little Miracle station standing in the background, as well as something called Dream Supply and Tasty Eats. I have little to no clue what those are, actually. I’m still confused why is a locker called Miracle Station. But I learned to never question the design choices the developers make, so we’ll just move on.

We also get a quick look at the Art Department or at least something that looks like it, as well as GOLD BLITZ WOOHOO!!! I still have NO idea what this thing is for.

But what I do know, is that we can CHARGE this bad boy! Yes, you heard me! Whatever this abomination of a MacGuffin is, it requires (and presumably emits) electricity. Watch Audrey put this baby in an oversized battery port!

And we actually see that being confirmed in this screenshot. Those lights on the device indicate that it runs on some power and has limited usage. I guess we’ll have to charge it from time to time... I just hope it lasts longer than Glamrock Freddy... also it kinda looks like she made it herself, because it just looks like a pipe with a battery slapped on it ahaha

ALSO LOOK AT MY BOY CHARLIE!!! HE LOOKS SO COOL!

But we actually have something else appear before Audrey gets to show off her new toy!

BOOM! THIS GUY! 

He appeared in one of the trailers for a brief moment already. I assume he’ll be an annoying kind of enemy like the Butcher Gang. I have no idea what to call this son of a gun, so I’ll just refer to him as the Ink Brute if I’ll have to talk about him again. But honestly, he’s my son and I lowkey love him. Just look at him go! Even my boy’s better than the vacuum in a skin costume that calls itself Wilson.

But why would I talk about him separately? Because one of the thing that I love the most about this trailer is the unique designs of different new characters that we will be able to interact with! They are so cool! They are alive! They are PEOPLE!

LOOK AT THIS GUY! HE’S SO FUNKY! HE’S SO COOL! ROCKING HIS GOGGLES LIKE THERE’S NO TOMORROW (which is probably accurate, because time isn’t a concept the studio decided on following).

OR THIS MAPBOT FROM SECURITY BREACH  DOLL!

Both of them even have their own voices and here’s something the doll girl says

Doll: “Almost everyone here either can’t speak or they’re completely mad.”

Considering that there are differences when it comes to living cartoons, it kinda makes sense. Perfect cartoons, like Boris, cannot speak, for example. And Alice, who was proven to be an imperfect version of her cartoon self, is uh... unwell, to say the least. It doesn’t really apply to the Lost Ones, as well as this Doll. They do speak, but don’t appear to be irrational, at least from what I’ve seen. The only mad characters in the trailer are the Butcher Gang, who are rabid from the get-go, Alice, who’s literally portrayed with a legit GUN later in the video, and the illegitimate son of William Afton and Bill Cipher aka Wilson.

Talking about the characters we already know and love (not counting Wilson). Allison is here, looking SHARP!

There is a short dialogue going on between Audrey and Allison. I assume it’s the first time they meet.

Allison: “I’m not gonna hurt you. Looks like you need some help” 

Audrey: [pulls her hand away as soon as Allison touches it] “Don’t touch me!”

I wanted to add, that Audrey doesn’t say “Don’t touch me!” in a scared voice. More like warning Allison, that it’s not safe to touch her. Although maybe it’s just me looking too much into voice acting hahah. I guess Allison here helps Audrey to adapt around the studio. She takes her hand and points out that our girl needs help just by looking at it. Maybe she realised that Audrey is new to all of this. But she could also be pointing it out because of this distinctive feature of hers:

I’m actually surprised they didn’t really say anything about her arm and I didn’t even think about it until I watched the trailer again. I don’t really have anything else to say though. I hope Allison will answer this question, because it looks like she knows what that could mean. At least I hope she does, because if she doesn’t, we’ll have to interview the old melted wax figure that is Wilson. Or like... ask Alice, or smth. She did pick up a hobby of going through cartoons’ guts, she might know a thing or two- [gets shot with a tommy gun]

Well, anyway, let’s see, what else we have in that trailer. Except the canteen and some random rooms, we get a hallway!

What’s interesting is that it has an almost identical layout as the hallway I showed in the beginning, but it might just be me looking at the floor tiles and thinking I connected the dots, when in reality I didn’t connect shit. But it does work with that “Audrey’s tripping balls” theory I talked about earlier. Although I am leaning more towards the Security Breach comparison at the moment.

And then we have something interesting, which is just a shadow, but it belongs to my boy, my love, my beautiful bean, my favourite creature Nature created while she was drunk on bacon soup. THE INK DEMON!

There is a short dialogue between Allison and Audrey when he appears.

Allison: “Above everything else, stay away from the Ink Demon.” Audrey: “What’s an Ink Demon?” Allison: “He likes to smile. And he kills anything that moves.”

We already heard the last sentence in a different trailer out of context, but now we know that it’s Allison explaining Audrey who the Ink Demon is. Which makes me think that we won’t see our favourite boy for a while. At least not until Allison and Audrey meet.

Bendy also seems to be a little upgraded. His horns are bigger and the head isn’t as smooth and round. And if you look closely when the shadow rises, you can see that he has some kind of spikes on his back. He did have something similar in his old model, but it was more subtle, while the new model seems to be more detailed and “exaggerated”, so to say. Also it seems like he’s not a twink anymore - [gets shot again]

After that we get a better look at Audrey’s model and may I say, she looks pretty badass. Slay, queen! SLAY YOUR ENEMIES! SLAY THE DEMON!

I honestly really enjoy her design. And am... kind of confused why everything around her as well as she herself change their color. Guess it has something to do with the whole “Bendy’s Cartoon World” thing? I never really think about it usually, but the people in the studio don’t really... have that many normal human features. Like, their skin color is orange/brown-ish and all the clothes grey and black (maybe a little white here and there + golden stuff like Audrey’s eyes). It seemed like a design choice in the first game, but now that we were shown a different place that is more colourful and we know that Audrey’s skin and clothes don’t actually look like that in the beginning, it gets a little confusing.

I don’t really know what else to say. A part of me suggests that maybe it means that she’s dead, but that Joker with no make up on (Wilson) is also there and I’m pretty confident that he is alive. Plus, there’s no indication that it might be a purgatory of some sort or that there’s no way out. Even the description of the game that we get on the official Bendy Store website states, that our mission is to leave the studio. Although considering the ending of the first game, that wants us to think that Henry might be dead, it’s a question that will stay open for quite a while. As far as I’m concerned, we might never get a clear answer to what the hell this studio is. I know those Indi developers. They never give a clear answer to the biggest questions, especially BatIM.  So I guess we could theorise about it without ever being sure X). Let’s just move on, we could talk about it the whole day.

Btw, the sign behind Audrey says “Unsafe Area” and asks for the workers’ ID cards. 

There was another location that requires an ID card to enter with the subtitle “Be Drawn to Fear.”

I guess all the locations reserved for Gent workers may require an Identification to enter... LET’S STEAL WALLY’S ID!

Welp, let’s talk more locations! Here we have a... uh... [looks through the notes] a city street. Yep. A city street.

At first I thought it was the Lost Ones harbour/town/haven/whatever. But look at it again and you realise that there’s no fucking way it could be that. I TOLD YOU THE DEFINITION OF THE WORD “STUDIO” IN THIS UNIVERSE IS THE MOST CONFUSING SHIT IN THE WORLD. This place has a grocery store, a pharmacy, a residential building EVEN A SUBWAY STATION. IT HAS A GODDAMN SUBWAY STATION????

This place makes my head hurt as much as Tumblr deleting half of this review every time I’m trying to save it as a draft. I have only one explanation that comes to mind and makes the most sense. The locations from the cartoons/comics become real, just like the characters. It’s the most realistic option in my opinion. We did see city backgrounds in comics and cartoons after all (reference Cheap Seats).

Otherwise it makes absolutely no sense and if I’m wrong here, I will lose all my marbles and I don’t have many left. This just adds like... 50 bucks to the “Put a dollar every time the JDS makes no sense” jar.

Let’s move on before I lose my mind. We do have another screenshot that seems to be taken in the same location, but I’ll leave it for later ;)

NOW WE HAVE THIS! 

IN THE VENTS! IN THE VENTS! WE WILL GO INTO THE VENTS ANd I am not going to make an Among Us joke.

OOH, SOME QUICK GRABBERS WE HAVE HERE! And it clearly belongs to our beloved Ink Demon - his left hand has four fingers and a glove.

Although it does seem like he went through much more changes than I thought. Because this looks much better than whatever the hell it used to be:

Although he does lack basic level of intelligence if he thinks that he can reach and grab Audrey through that little hole in the wall. Well, at least one thing they didn’t change about him X) /lh

And here’s something... big. I missed it the first time I watched it and I didn’t really look that deep into it. A table a with a writing on the wall behind it saying “She was the FOURTH”.

But then a friend pointed out that it might have something to do with a thing Meatly said once that left all fans go completely badonkers 2 years ago (yes, it’s been 2 years).

This CLEARLY means that Audrey (or some other female character who we haven’t seen before. Although I’m pretty sure it’s about Audrey) is supposed to represent the fourth member of The Butcher Gang. And this is a pretty huge deal. If it IS Audrey, it could explain why that wet old sock of a person aka Wilson wants to find Audrey so bad. Maybe he tried to turn her into that character, but she managed to escape before he could finish his work. And maybe it’s the reason why she has those unique powers that Allison seems to be familiar with - maybe, all cartoons have this feature?

But we still can’t really say who that character is. Clearly they came up with it pretty late. The comic book already came out when he said it and neither that nor the cartoons acknowledge this character or their existence. Which leads me to the only conclusion I’m able to make right now - that fourth member was a thing at FIRST, but then was scraped by the artists and never made it to the screens/in the comics. If I’m wrong again, I’ll just stick with the joke that Edgar’s toy duck is the fourth member and shut my mouth.

Let’s move on then, because I have nothing else to say about this and I’m very tired and have been writing this part for over 3 hours or something like that.

WHY NOT TALK ABOUT ANOTHER MUCH BETTER (sorry XD) FEMALE CHARACTER THAT IS MY BELOVED ALICE ANGEL?! Because guess what!

THEY GAVE HER A GUN! I REPEAT, THEY GAVE ALICE A FUCKING GUN! BENDY ROYALE IS REAL MWAHAHAHHAHAH

But for real now, this moment made my day when I first saw that XD.

Well, for the last, but not least (although pretty much the littlest)...

PERFECT BENDY IS HERE! HE’S CANON AND HE’S BABY! LOOK AT THIS PRECIOUS LITTLE BEAN!

Look at him in his little vest! What an adorable little gentleman!

This is that other screenshot from the city location I mentioned! Which means that Bendy might accompany us in some of the locations. Which I’m all for! IF I GET TO SEE THIS PRECIOUS LITTLE CREATURE MORE THAN ONCE, I WILL BE THE HAPPIEST FISH ALIVE!

Also it makes me think that the Perfect Bendy might actually be Henry. Now, this is a pretty popular theory and I actually agree with it in some parts. For example, that scene in Chapter 5, where Sammy attacks Henry, saying that he betrayed and abandoned him and that he trusted him, etc. He mistakes Henry for Bendy there and it would only make sense if he did so because Henry looks like his Lord. + Our man had ink splashed in his face on multiple occasions throughout the game, it should’ve affected him somehow. And lastly, every living cartoon was a normal person at first, and it doesn’t exclude Bendy over here. And who fits the role more than Henry? (Except maybe Joey, but I highly doubt it) Plus, he does look like he’s been in the studio for quite some time, because of his messy clothes and messed up face. And we all know by now that Henry went through a lot of loopty loops in this studio, he’s seen some shit.

Of course, I haven’t talked about a couple of other things (like that ball with someone’s name), but mainly because I honestly have nothing to say about that. There is so much in this new trailer and I am extremely happy.

November 15th. Less then two weeks left.

I know I said that I won’t be doing anything bendy related anymore. But I also said that this will be a case only if batdr doesn’t awaken anything in me and boy did it awaken a lot. I can’t wait to play this game and watch other people play and theorise about it. I also can’t wait for you guys to send me your comments, ideas and theories about this game and my review, so we can all talk about it a little more.

I do still think that the developers are assholes. They aren’t good people. But it doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy the everloving hell out of this game. Plus, I am the (self-proclaimed) Owner of Bendy and the Ink Machine ;).

In conclusion... I am happy. I truly am. And I can’t wait to see more when the game comes out.

Teen Monstrox // TaNya Era

I have one picture that i want to post, but before it i need to show you my headcanon about Monstrox look. Here are 4 stages for you: teenager, adult, villain and virus.

You may say: Why adult Monstrox have green main color as virus? Isn't stupid?

Well, i had problems with other color, when i was creating him, but i think i might change his clothes in future. The main thing there the hair 😅

Also very long ago i had a dream where thereporters from television called Monstrox as Ingore. + yesterday i get a genius idea about necromancer's surname (it can sounds weird, beacuse english not my native language). Headcovich :D

Monstrox teen.

For some reasons I'm sure that Monstrox, as a child, was one of those children who constantly lie and brag about their fictional wealth. Because of this, such children have no friends, because in the end the lie is revealed. I also believe that Monstrox has been defiant since childhood, which explains his tendency to evil in adulthood. Also, let's not forget about his family. it is unlikely that such a liar could have been born in a rich family. So I put him in a regular Knighton family.

Despite the fact that he was a bully, he still remained a bore constantly preparing to make a INGENIOUS DISCOVERY (explain he always call hiself as a genius) and finally get into the council of wizards. (His childhood dream. He believed that once in the council, everyone would respect him. And it was like it, but later when he proposed his project about forbidden forces, everyone refused and said that he was crazy. Then he realized that nothing had changed. He wasn't taken seriously in the past and isn't being taken seriously now. REVENGE!!! khem-)
