its kind of crazy how tumblr culture did a complete 180 somewhere between 2018 and 2020 and most of this website has stopped being proud of how miserable they are and instead the general mindset is now all about finding beauty in the smallest things and loving yourself despite it all i hope we all never stop thinking this way

#i think we were kind of on our way there and then the pandemic really solidified it #there was (and is) just so much misery around that loving life despite it all is now exactly as contrarian as hating yourself once was #ironically the thing that made me fully realise this is dan howells comeback to the internet lol he has that distinctly 2016 humour #and all the comments are 'nooo dan. we no longer hate ourselves here its no longer cool to be miserable'#he literally gets called cringe for having low self-esteem which is kind of hysterical. sorry to dan howell but i genuinely love that #distinctly gen z to bully someone into no longer hating themselves lmfaoooo #personal
