Do you think Creek feels some type of way about not going gray. Like when Viva saw her husband dead she was in fucking agon- wait ask cancelled I forgot he was misogynistic. He probably thinks going gray is for women.

i like how misogyny is like the plaster for angst here. anyway wrt greyness in the tdau, its not particularly "consistent" and we prioritise what works for the plot, but i try to keep in mind what i think was said in the art book? or maybe it was the novelesation. anyway, it was that a troll going grey meant they lost hope, and not just that they were depressed. eg, clay went grey when he thought viva cheated on him bc he took it to mean she really didnt love him anymore and thats why she treated him the way he did; he cant save things, they will not get better, she doesnt love him. branch went grey when he decided that this is all life will ever be for him, misfortune after misfortune, hes not meant to be happy so why even try?

this is also why floyd and creek havent gone grey despite how they probably should. floyd still being alive gives creek that tiny shred of hope that he can salvage things, while with floyd... well, yknow how when youre suicidal, and you make a plan, you start getting happier bc you know itll all be over soon? thats the situation. he still has hope that itll be over, so he has not gone grey
