Lost to the floor with the rest of his clothes, his coat vibrated and flashed with glaring red as his netlink did its best to escape. Fishing it out—struggling not to chuck it under the bed—he held the pin-sized device to his ear, voice sharp with stolen bliss, “Someone better be dead.”

“There’s a wolf at my door,” Bosch sneered from the other end of the line, tinge of fear unnoticed in his tone—regardless of how thickly it spread.

Delmas tried for snark, tried to hold the irritation in his tone, but Den grabbed his shoulders and what came out did so through a gasp and subdued giggle, “You’re a big boy, boss, I’m sure you can handle one wolf all by yourself.”

“Can you,” Den whispered into his unoccupied ear, drawing another gasp.

A gasp bitten, unheard despite the greater venom in Bosch’s tone that slithered after, “He’s here for you.”

“Tell him I’m busy,” Delmas moaned as Den’s tongue teased his ear.

And Bosch heard, growling before he screeched, “Busy my ass, you overgrown slut!”

Den fell back, hands tight to his ears, while Delmas winced and held the netlink at arm’s length, “Fuck, Bosch, was your mother a banshee?”

Bosch snapped, “I don’t care how tight your whore’s ass is, you get yours down here before the light starts fadin’ or my patience will!”

Delmas did not wait for the line to die before he stuffed the source back into his coat, but he stared at it after, thinking, must be some wolf if they got him squealin’. But as that thought faded another flickered to replace it, one that almost offered clarity, explanation...until Den returned to his shoulders—melting any possibility of thought with kisses far too sweet. 

“Your boss’ got a mouth on him,” He said, firm hands massaging up the sides of Delmas’ neck before moving down along his collar bone and teasing the thin hairs on his chest.

“Mm-hmm,” Delmas agreed, grabbing Den’s hands as they wandered lower. “But he’s got a temper to match and will send his thralls after my ass if I don’t do what it says.”

Den draped his arms over him and pouted, “But I want your ass.”

The laugh coughed before Delmas could stop it and the smile Den flashed after settled it into a chuckle, “Here.” Pulling free of his arms, Delmas dug again in his pocket and swiped a thumb along his netlink. The sliver of silver shining in Den’s earlobe blinked—green, then gold—and Delmas returned to his waiting arms, “now you can have my ass whenever you want it.”

“Giving your link out to someone you just met,” Den teased, “Seems risky.”

Grabbing one of the hands tickling his chest, Delmas kissed it before answering, “You’re worth it.”

Though he couldn’t stop the shock from widening his eyes, Den buried his face in Delmas’ neck before the burn in his cheeks started to show.

But he didn’t let him go.

like, just these six months of newfound happiness with you exerts a force on his heart equal and in direct opposition to two centuries of endless torment, the gnawing hunger and exploitation. this flashbulb-bright fraction of his long life holds the same gravity to him as years upon years of darkness and suffering.

in all likelihood, he hasn’t even known his lover for as long as his worst memory lasted, that year sealed away to go mad from starvation and sensory deprivation, yet he still tells them this brief time has been so fundamentally and powerfully important that the weight of even that unimaginable hell is vanishingly small compared to this present he has now and the future ahead of them both.

so i made a little machete to spin in my head

(i still want to fix the snout length a little so it looks consistent, but i feel like it’s a pretty good first attempt at this)

For the first month after Echo joins the batch he’s lowkey convinced Crosshair is trying to kill him. Mainly bc Crosshair follows him everywhere and glares in his general direction, pops up anywhere he is, chews on toothpicks at him, and is generally a bit overbearing. It’s only after he overhears Wrecker tease Crosshair about ‘imprinting on Echo’ that he even realizes that this man is a protective oversized cat who can’t vocalize anything but will instead trot after him to every room, sit quietly next to him, and bring him cool rocks he found as if they’re the product of a successful hunt.

Echo brings Crosshair the next pack of novelty toothpicks he finds.

Hi, if you don't mind, I'd love to hear about the Scumcumplane AU. Like *how* fluffy would it be? Would there be murder? I think no one we care about if it's fluff, right? Is it more like a fix it for all or only a 'canon but fixing it for the ship'?

I won't lie the scumcumplane AU is in the same AU I made Shen Yuan a fifty year old man before he transmigrated. I didn't mention it because I forgor

He's a well known academic that specializes in classic literature and psychology studies, and is a xianxia nerd in his free time. I'm slightly basing this on a college professor I had (pretty chill guy, like a grandpa and also surprisingly a weeb).

When Shen Yuan transmigrated, he's in the body of a thirty something year old rogue cultivator. He meets Shang Qinghua during a supplies run, and they clock each other as transmigrators instantly. I'd imagine Shen Yuan was Shang Qinghua's professor at some point and probably was a whole sexuality crisis for him (something something silver fox Shen Yuan).

But yeah in this AU Shang Qinghua was working on helping Shen Jiu with varying success, at least the scum villain trusts him. So when Shang Qinghua comes around and introduces a rogue cultivator, he isn't immediately releasing the hounds.

It's a pretty fluffy AU and it has my favorite flavor of Shen Yuan (completely unfazed by everything because he's seen some things).

Him and Shen Jiu bond over literature, and Shen Yuan does clock a few of Shen Jiu's mental health issues and tries to help where he can. Shen Jiu just likes the have occasional pampering and people to complain to.

I just find the idea of Shen Jiu accidentally bagging two (mentally) 50-60 year olds a little amusing. Shen Yuan and Shang Qinghua are complaining about their backs hurting and how they need to take a nap. And then Shen Jiu just slots himself in-between like a cat during its afternoon nap.

If there was murder, I'd imagine the most reaction it'll get from Shen Yuan is "Oh no. We're probably going to have to work on that, aren't we?" He's a professional in his field, he learned how to be unbiased.

So I definitely see Shen Yuan being pretty unfazed by most things because of the things he's helped other people with in the past.

What I loved about Cinderella's Castle is it is so entirely about Ella. We know starkid can handle a show with tons and tons of characters but I found it quite refreshing for it to be so wholly her story? I think it was a lovely choice for this show and man Bryce did such a perfect job of it, she is truly such a star
