Yes! I have Anonie! I love kamisama kiss, both the anime and the manga. (Though personally the time travel arc was my favorite, surprise surprise right? 💞💞)

Lilia and MC in a Kamisama Kiss AU would be so cool.

I feel General Lilia would fit the Tomoe personality, especially since Tomoe has short hair and then long hair, a time travel arc with a “past lover”, and you know the tsundere personality.

The most fitting aspect is how both Tomoe and Lilia learned to love, from humans. How both of these strong and murderous characters fell in love with a human with a big heart.

How MC, like Nanami, gradually makes more friends and loved ones. How Lilia himself accepts these connections.

I think it would be interesting if sebek and silver are Onikiri and Kotetsu. It would rather be fitting hehehe

And Malleus 🤔 I think it would be fitting if he’s Mikage, Malleus is strong and powerful and watches loved ones from afar. So I can imagine him watching and protecting from afar.

I can just imagine MC coming to the temple, and slowly warming up Lilia. I think it would be funny if we had that mini lilia like we did mini tomoe.

And it would be hilarious, if tsundere Lilia hides in the shell like tomoe did because he doesn’t know how to deal with MC’s emotions because that’s literally how Lilia is.

And ooooo the time travel arc, that plot would be so delicious with MC and Lilia too. The angst and the fluff 💞💞

I want to put my thoughts about Barnaby Brooks Jr in a real post

1. this man is Gay. he is homosexual. he loves other men. he genuinely doesn't know until he's 25.

2. he's also trans and transitioned as a child; his parents supported him, as did Samantha. Maverick didn't know but said enough dismissive things about The Queers that Barnaby decided not to tell him

3. sometimes Barnaby forgets he's trans and tells other guys to just "not let (thing that cis men can't control) happen". in the past one of his girl friends found this hilarious because she thought he was making fun of dudes who think women can shut off their periods, so he uses that excuse whenever he's called out on it.

4. genuinely thinks he's straight but not interested in settling down bc he can't see himself falling in love with a woman. when he's feeling mopey he says he's broken but really he just never was pushed to consider other men.

5. he's the kind of autistic where he's So good at making neurotypicals feel like they're connecting with him, but it's part of his masking, so it's not an actual, two-way connection, and it is VERY tiring. he tried to switch his persona to Cold Bastard so he wouldn't have to work so hard but people just think he's cool now, and he can't justify being a genuine asshole. so he's stuck.

6. Barnaby and Ivan like hanging out because Ivan is by nature quiet and gentle and Barnaby is constantly overstimulated. they will sit in Ivan's living room painting minis in silence for hours and have a great time.

7. Barnaby likes Mecha anime. it's Saito's fault for explaining how he took inspiration from Gundam for their suits' aesthetic.

8. Kotetsu has a Bi Revelation about a year into their working relationship. Barnaby doesn't realize he's in love with Kotetsu until he's reading some fanfiction Nathan sent him and there's a scene where Wild Tiger professes his love all dramatic and eloquent and Barnaby says out loud, "He would not fucking say that" and it makes him sad. just. the weirdest, most roundabout realization ever.

9. he's an absolute loser and that's why he's so loveable.

What can I say? Tangle & Whisper's mini-series had me by the balls. Can't wait to dive into the Metal Virus. In any case, here's a voice cast I've had in mind when reading the comic original characters:

"Christine Marie Cabanos as Tangle The Lemur" - Many fan casters tend to focus on Tangle as a sporty tomboy and think of a raspy voice not unlike Rainbow Dash or Amethyst. This isn't bad but I found myself thinking outside the box when I was revisiting Kill La Kill and its bombass dub at the time. Christine's Mako Makanshoku had just the kind of energy and cocksure that Tangle would have as a rookie to the Resistance.

Mind you, she would even out the pitch to sound closer to a young adult/older teen that the characters tend to (mostly) come across as but no less hyperactive like Mako when the moment calls for it. Additionally, Christine could dip more into her Madoka Kaname performance to capture her more emotional side, particularly when Whisper lets her in on what happened to the Diamond Cutters. It would make for a great range that toes the line just like Tangle has in terms of being somewhat obnoxious but not in a "Scrappy Doo" kind of way.

"Erica Mendez as Whisper The Wolf" - Erica would play her not too unlike her soft-spoken Retsuko (barring Heavy Metal scenes played by an actual Heavy Metal singer) but in a consistently hushed tone. However, moments where she's emotionally devastated like fearing losing Tangle or... losing Tangle would be where her performances as Atsuko Kagari from Little Witch Academia and Gon from Hunter X Hunter come in.

"Todd Haberkorn as Dr. Starline The Platypus" - Todd's performance as Death The Kid shows a very balanced performance between his more goofy side and serious, grounded side, one that would apply well to the campy Dr. Starline. It would work well with his raising of Surge and Kit with his callous use of his Hypno Glove.

"Sarah Anne Williams as Surge The Tenrec" - Anybody who's heard her performance as Nonon Jakuzure and Tifa from FFVII Machinamabridged will know that Sarah can do punk. She just needs to ramp up the gruffness if only to see Surge as a homegrown teenage with major issues.

"Johnny Yong Bosch as Kitsunami The Fennec" - Johnny may be known for his Super Saiyans, bounty hunters on the run and Anime pretty boys but his performance as Doraemon's Nobita as well as Yokai Watch's Nate shows that he can do timid young boy. Kit being the Tails to Surge's Sonic makes it a perfect fit.

spoilers for the new additional 6 pages of Tiger and Bunny 2 (which you can access through this post (big thanks to TLF and @tnbdirectory), i wrote a less coherent rant about this on twitter but like omg

I believe now this is the 3rd (?) time Barnaby has explicitly shown/said he wants to be with Kotetsu, with it being of his own volition

(The three times I can think of 1. when Barnaby comes out of retirement with Kotetsu end of S1 2. episode 21 of S2, in cour 2 when he wants to be partners with Kotetsu for the last time 3. the new TL'd 6 pages for post S2 ending where he really makes it clear he wants to support Kotetsu by Kotetsu's side, without any snark about it, just really requests that he stay and help even when Kotetsu tells him he doesn't need to stick around)

(I don't really count the elevator scene from S2 ep 18 and the final scene from The Rising because though it's obvious to the audience what Barnaby is thinking, I don't think it's clear enough for Kotetsu to REALLY get it. Though you could debate more with the elevator scene, I'm open to conversation lol.)

But I'm just pulling my hair out at how Kotetsu still just really wants what's best for Barnaby, when he looks at Barnaby's bangle it's feels like he's just about to say something along the lines of "can you really be here?" when he could be doing something "more important" or actual hero work.

But Barnaby doesn't even dignify Kotetsu's attempt to push him away just giving that line (that makes me insane) of how he wants to be Kotetsu's support. Also just the way Barnaby KNEW what Kotetsu was going to say.

It's so wild that it's like a mini version of their Rising situation, but this shows how far they've come. Like Barnaby does not stay silent here. I'm sure he remembers how that went down, and at least this time Kotetsu asks Barnaby instead of making the executive decision to leave him in the dust on his own. Barnaby's just so honest here? No bullshit, little snark, just here it is, all on the table. It does make me wonder if the past couple months not working with Kotetsu has made him not want to not cloak things as much and say it straight. Though this might have been something even spurred on as early as S2 ep 21 when there was real risk of their partnership being over, after his super ernest confession.

But this made me think, Barnaby's made it pretty clear to Kotetsu he wants to be partners, even in non-hero situations, but it made me realize that I don't think Kotetsu has ever reciprocated verbally? Not because Barnaby isn't important to him or that he doesn't want partners, but more because of how Kotetsu views himself as a burden/problem to Barnaby? And also because I don't think Kotetsu's love language is really through words (though I think it's important that Barnaby DOES show love through words occasionally without snark, because Kotetsu's a pretty insecure and dense guy, he needs it spelled out for him plainly).

Like Kotetsu seems more to me as an act of service love language guy, which we've seen (and @abluescarfonwaston has made a great post about here). Which makes sense how he reacts in seeing him being a potential problem for Barnaby and trying to remove himself as the problem. Which would be great... if that actually wasn't causing MORE of a problem in Barnaby's life (in that Kotetsu's not a problem at all AND PLEASE STAY FFS).

The big moments that indicate Kotetsu appreciates his partnership with Barnaby directly are basically just in ep24 of S1. Every other time he's just kinda... gone with the flow? Like it's usually Barnaby initiating or asking Kotetsu, except in the elevator scene which was a question and not really an affirmation. WE as the audience can see how clearly Kotetsu adores Barnaby, but I wonder how it comes off to Barnaby in the show when he can't see how torn up Kotetsu gets at the thought of or actually having lost Barnaby as a partner (Rising and hospitalization).

And yes, we see they can "know what each other is thinking without saying anything" but I don't think that's 24/7, as shown by a couple moments throughout S2.

Despite being the more "tsun" one, Barnaby has been more explicit and straightforward about what he wants from Kotetsu (Kotetsu in his life, whatever form it may take).

Which makes me wonder, man would Barnaby just snap, like all the safeties are off, and just kiss Kotetsu if he ever explicitly told him that he wants Barnaby in his life? The other option is acting tsun but I think the previous option would be infinitely more fun.

also bonus thing I noticed:

Barnaby says "WHY" for the word game and Kotetsu asks if he couldn't choose another word. Barnaby refuses, but the next thing Kotetsu says is "YOU" which works out in this situation lol (dunno if this is a English TL version only thing but thought it was funny how it worked out)

Some doodles centered around Akari and her Father. They have an interesting relationship but make no mistake, she means the world to Hotaru.

Alora and Kozo like to poke fun at how much it’s like having a mini slightly tamer Haganezuka in a blonde wig.

Akari is much like a cat and prone to roaming and choosing which place she stays at to sleep. She does always let her mother know and she only stays either at Kotetsu’s, Grandpa Tetsuido, or Hotaru’s when not with her.

Most times she’ll stay at Hotaru’s work hut and leave for his home with him, but on this particular day he seemed to be extremely busy and focused so she didn’t interrupt him and hung out with Kotetsu.

She wanted to stay at her father’s home though and left when it was time for bed, leaving through Kotetsu’s window, (like I said, cat but Alora also does this) and climbing into her dad’s window before getting ready for bed and curling up on his futon.

Hotaru came home during the twilight hours to find her asleep in his room. Needless to say dad mode kicked on and he pulled the blanket up a bit more before he sat and watched her sleep.

The Haganezuka face of wrath is strong in the bloodline and Alora can’t believe that the other smiths in the village don’t see that they’re related.

When Kotetsu’s Father passed away from illness it shocked Akari. She’s a smart kid and was aware of things like where babies come from and of course death, but it never hit her until then.

She tried for be there for Kotetsu and his family, but she started to have a panic attack as the realization of her lifespan hit her and she ran to her father. Needless to say that Hotaru had never dropped a sword or broke concentration until the broken sobbed word “Dad,” came from his workshop doorway.

Akari broke down talking about how she was going to far him, outlive Kozo, and even Kotetsu and his family. She’d outlive everyone.

Of course Hotaru knew she’d outlive him regardless if she were human or witch but Akari had NEVER cried in front of him before and needless to say it alarmed him and he didn’t touch a sword for the rest of that day and even the next.

He and Alora had to have a long talk with Akari about life and death and about how witches view it as stopping one existence and moving onto another. (There’s more to it but I don’t want to write more than necessary) It helped a bit and they even went to comfort Kotetsu and his family.

Akari idolizes her Dad and wants to know all about him, but Hotaru isn’t much for sharing about his childhood.

Fortunately (or rather unfortunately for Hotaru) Tecchin is all too happy to share stories about Hotaru’s life and childhood.

Hotaru didn’t want to tell anyone that Akari was his as a means to protect her from his reputation and Alora from any sort of scrutiny and revealing of her being a witch and not a full spirit being.

That being said at times he’s almost sure that Tecchin KNOWS because anytime Hotaru is in the vicinity of the two hanging out, Tecchin will tell Akari the most EMBARRASSING stories.

And Akari just absorbs the information.

Tecchin doesn’t really get why Akari is so curious about Hotaru but he knows her mother was quite friendly with him so that was likely it. He won’t pass up a chance to embarrass his adopted son a bit though.

Mini-blog: Mitsuri, Shinobu and maybe Rengoku are stronger than Muichuro

One of the most controversial opinions has recently caught my eye. It’s the idea that Tokito Muichuro, the fan-favourite mist hashira, is not the 5th strongest hashira but in fact lower. At first I thought this was utter nonsense, the boy is 14 years old and has achieved the highest (fighting) ranking in the entire Demon slayer Corps. Would that not make him stronger than most of the hashiras? After thinking about it, I have come to a realisation that is true….but not completely. Allow me to explain.

The difference between potential and strength is not visible to many fans. Potential is the fact that one can be better, they have a higher limit. Muichuro has a lot of potential. Strength is something already gained. Gyomei is indeed extremely strong but due to the fact that Muichuro can become hashira-level after 2 months means that he has more time and more ‘talent’. 

Now I know what you must be thinking. ‘Shinowadh, we already know that Gyomei is stronger than the other hashiras but that doesn’t change Muichuro’s ranking.’ Aha, now comes the controversial part. I believe that even Mitsuri, Shinobu and possibly Rengoku are stronger than Muichuro (in his current state). Why so? Because Muichuro was actually about to be killed by Gyokko, you cannot state like those tik-tokers that ‘Gyokko couldn’t even lay a scratch on our baby.’ No, Muichuro would have died if Kotetsu hadn’t been there. Muichuro might have even died later on without the demon slayer mark. And in terms of the infinity castle arc, he had the mark (again). 

So base Muichuro (Muichuro without a mark) is not exactly that strong. Does he have a lot of potential? Yes he does. I believe he could have almost become Gyomei level in 2 years however he would have missed out on experience. I am not saying he is weak but seriously you can’t say that Shinobu can’t beat Kaigaku but then say Muichuro can solo Douma (credits to this trashy opinion from a youtuber).

Getting A Visit From Akamaru's Mom

3rd Person's POV

It was another completed mission when Kiba and Akamaru were heading back to the Leaf Village with Hinata, Shino and Kurenai. As they were getting closer to the gates. Akamaru sniffed the air, before barking and jumping out of Kiba's jacket

"Wha-Hey! Akamaru! Come back!" Kiba called at Akamaru

"What's going on with Akamaru, Kiba?" Kurenai asks

"I don't know. He never acted like that before. He must've smelled something before taking off like that." Kiba said, watching as Akamaru ran to the village enterance

~Mini Time Skip~

The Hidden Leaf gates came into view as Kiba, Hinata, Shino and Kurenai followed Akamaru. Once again, Akamaru barked before taking off. Izumo and Kotetsu saw the pup running towards the enterance with smiles on their faces

"Looks like someone's excited about today." Izumo said, once Akamaru stopped in front of them

Akamaru barked and ran in circles with his tail wagging. Kiba walked up to Akamaru before looking at the two

"What's exciting about today?" Kiba asked

A soft bark was heard behind them, which had Akamaru running towards

"Looks like Akamaru knows that bark." Hinata said, watching Akamaru go behind the desk

Kiba headed over to where Akamaru went, before looking under the desk

"Oh so, that's why your so exciting, huh?" Kiba said with a smile

Tho, she was loosing her eyesight. Akari's mom, Y/N wagged her tail as she saw Kiba. Kiba kneeled on one knee and gave the mother some pets. Y/N leaned into his hand while licking Akamaru

"Hey girl. How you doing?" Kiba asked her

"I'm doing fine. Still pretty sore, but I'm doing good. Thought I'd surprise my pup and his friends." She said, after she licked Kiba's hand

"Ha. Well, it's good to see you moving around after resting for a few weeks." Kiba said, before moving letting Y/N and Akamaru go past him

Once Y/N came into view. Hinata, Shino and Kurenai were a bit shocked seeing her. Y/N had a scar going over her left eye, from her left ear to under her jaw and she had bite and scratch marks on her body and she had half of her tail gone

"Who's this girl?" Kurenai asked, as the three came over to them

Y/N sniffed them before letting Kurenai pet her

"W-well, she is a beautiful dog. D-does she have a-any other puppies?" Hinata asks, as Y/N nuzzled her face

"She did but they didn't make it. Akamaru is the only one of her puppies to survive." Kiba said, as he picked Akamaru up "My sister and mom found out they were pretty sick, while Akamaru was fine."

"Did they ever find out what made the puppies sick?" Shino asked, as Y/N nuzzled at his hand. Making him pet her a little

"Not sure. They probably never got to it. She was pretty sad when they passed. I stayed with her before and after I went to the academy." Kiba said, as Akamaru whined. Making Kiba pet him

"Poor girl. Well, let's report our mission to Lady Tsuade then we can head home." Kurenai said, making the others nod

Once they were making their way to the Hokage. Akamaru jumped out of Kiba's arms and sat on his mom's head, before licking her head. Making Kiba and Y/N smile at him

All at once, there was only the bright blue and greens of Lunatic's fire and Kotetsu's alarmed shout, then the cold and wet embrace of nothingness.

Yuri thought to destroy himself, a final act of penance for his crimes. But Tartarus' fires rejected him, and the sea washed him upon the shore. By a stroke of dumb luck, those that would lock him into a cell, to continue breathing but never live, did not find him. Wild Tiger however, is the persistent sort.

Shocked, conflicted and uneased, Kotetsu and Barnaby fished the battered judge and wanted criminal and treated his many wounds.

"What do we do with him?" Bunny asked.

"I don't know."

Wild Tiger did not agree with Yuri's actions, but imprisonment, much less death, seemed unproductive a means for repentance and redemption. This is Mr Legend's son, he thinks, and curses at the conundrum he now faced.

Weeks later, Yuri blinked open tired eyes and struggled to hide his bafflement at being housed at Kaburagi's countryside home. Met with kindness he thought he did not deserve from the family but was learning was essential to living, he healed. Under Barnaby's watchful, thoughtful eyes, of course. The knowledge that he could melt the security cameras and tracking bracelet with ease was kept to himself.

It takes a long time, and patience from all parties, to learn: Yes, crimes could never be erased, but only through living could anything be better be achieved and wounds tended to. Yuri found himself to be his own observation subject, the ironic testament to Kotetsu's brand of justice.

Eventually, the judge of Stern Bild reclaims his role. Yuri hopes, with many days of overwork interspersed with some of his new friend's kindness, that every day he spends living is never wasted.

Yuri is not a good man, but with another life-changing scar upon his chest, he could try.

SO now that snee's got me going i am NOT GOING TO STOP and will now proceed to tell u guys enough about tiger and bunny to hopefully annoy my moots and followers to watch it too ♡

have you guys ever heard of the hit anime my hero academia? have you ever wished for a show that was premised similarly to it, but featured more adults and was more character-driven and didn't take place in highschool? WELL LOOK NO FURTHER THAN TIGER AND BUNNY (2011)!!!!!!!

taking place in a world wherein a new race of superpowered people called NEXTs exists, we set our scene in a funky and futuristic version of 1978 with poor city planning, giant statues, and holographic technology — tiger and bunny is about the city of Stern Bild and their most popular tv program of all: HERO TV! A show that follows the action-packed lives of the 8 resident NEXT superheroes within Stern Bild's city, and even makes them compete for points in order to "win" each season!

despite all this set-up that makes tiger and bunny seem to be an extremely heavy and overly profound commentary on the justice system, t&b is actually an AMAZINGLY light-hearted and fun take on superhero society if you need a break from all the politics in things like the mcu or bnha.

the protagonist is a 35-year-old absolutely DILF of a man named kotetsu kaburagi who is a struggling widower and father of a pre-teen little girl and also, incidentally, famous 10-year veteran hero WILD TIGER! who is... loved by few but known by many! his superpower is superstrength, superspeed, super... *everything* — which sounds great and all until you learn that his powers... only last for five minutes.

kotetsu's down on his luck, pretty low on the scoreboards in terms of popularity AND points as an older hero who most people would describe as "past his prime". he struggles w balancing fatherhood and also continuing to be a hero when everything in the world is telling him to finally hang up the cape.

> enter: barnaby brooks jr.

barnaby is an upstart and smart-aleck new hero and the adoptive son of the CEO of HERO tv: mr. maverick. he makes his debut into the cast of HERO TV in stern bild with a bang! rescuing wild tiger from a criminal chase gone awry. he's cool, he's attractive, he's smart, he's popular, and he's scarily skilled. but the kicker?

he has the exact same ability as wild tiger.

(oh, and did i forget to mention they're the world's first ever hero duo?)

in the style of your typical buddy cop film, wild tiger and barnaby are partnered up as a dynamic duo in an attempt by herotv to maximize both of their skills. they start off the show LOATHING one another, whether it be for their seperate ideals or simply the way the other speaks.

in a typical golden heart / cold logicsl brain dynamic, t&b takes that trope and turns it on its head by making the old and experienced veteran—kotetsu—the bleeding and naive heart, and barnaby as the critical and callous strategist.

the show follows the development of their relationship from rivals to partners, and shows off JUST how well the two of them work together when they try.

aside our main two boys' endless flirting and obvious pining, tiger and bunny also presents the mini arcs and stories of their diverse cast of superheroes within the show, and that none of them are what meets the eye. with a few sprinkles of found family, what it means to be a hero, and HEALTHY doses of kotetsu being the father figure we all crave — t&b is one of my favorite ensemble animes to date.

I love the idea of a Pokemon AU where Kotetsu gives Barnaby a shiny buneary as a gag gift -"Get it, Bunny?? A buneary for a Bunny!"- and he instantly regrets it. Because now he has a Bunny and basically a mini-Bunny who give him shit. Like, if he pisses his partner off, he can expect not only Barnaby being crossed with him, but a pink and brown buneary giving him the stink-eye. Not exactly the best feeling in the world.

Barnaby honestly does find it a bit funny that his buneary -named Amica- will just give Kotetsu the most disappointed look he has ever seen a pokemon give a human.

Half age size Kotetsu arrived today so now these two are finally reunited! I love how their eyes are very clearly looking at each other with poses that compliment each other well, and their serious little faces are adorable. Kotetsu looks guilty and Barnaby looks unimpressed :3

The duo had been working extra hard that week including several overtime hours. Sensing they could use a little extra R&R, Agnes manages to pull some strings and swings a spontaneous day off for the two heroes. Seeing an opportunity, Kotetsu decides to take Bunny on a short day hike to a large forested park area just outside the city. He'd heard that it was known for being a very romantic location with several sculptures hidden along the forested paths.

After they arrived, the first couple hours went by like a dream; they took their time, feeling comfortable enough in this relatively secluded place to hold hands (and, of course, steal a kiss or two) off-and-on without being gawked at. This metamorphosis of their relationship was still very new, and both of them were still feeling a bit shy about it at times.

Unfortunately, their good mood eventually gave way to bickering as Kotetsu had wildly overestimated his ability to navigate the branching paths while being distracted by how cute Bunny looked in the soft forest light. Barnaby was not impressed. Kotetsu argued that it was also partially Barnaby's fault for being a source of distraction, which didn't go over well. It took them nearly a full hour to find their way back to the main path and they bickered and sulked for half the way.

However it was hard to stay mad at each other for long in such a beautiful place, and eventually their shared sour mood gave way to apologies and soft smiles. Overall, it had still been a very good day. Barnaby also took some satisfaction in knowing that he now had unspoken permission to hold this over Kotetsu for the rest of the evening, and he also knew that Kotetsu would go above and beyond to make it up to him when they got back to his place.

long post on my thots on t&b 2 cour 2

Well. i didn’t like cour 2 very much

i’m pretty disappointed really... a lot of it felt messy and yuri’s unfulfilling character arch and apparent death physically twists my stomach. gonna try and put this into a coherent order and giving each section a snazzy title. this is gonna be a mostly negative review of my thoughts so if you really liked cour 2 and would like to stay positive feel free to skip this read. that’s totally cool. chase your bliss. train and fight!

part 1: how to develop 15+ characters in 13 episodes

the problems that come with having such a large cast  is really starting to show in cour 2... my bias towards certain members of the supporting cast might be clouding my judgement but i feel like the writers didn’t know what do do with most of the ensamble cast during a lot of the episodes. i felt it especially during the portion the heroes are suspended and trying to investigate Gregory, theyre mostly just all standing in the same room, reacting to the same things over and over again as they wait for the main characters to forward the plot.

the small, personal moments between characters other than kotetsu and barnaby were few and far between. i did like each buddy duo being given at least the tiniest bit of mini-archs (antonio’s gift, pao-lin and lara dealing with lere’s mom etc) but my poor sweet firesky barely got anything. i had gotten the idea based on promotional materials keith and nathan were going to have a slightly larger role than during the first half (my fault, i know. shouldve kept my expectations lower) but even if that didn’t happen i still feel like they were given the short stick... do keep in mind i’m speaking as a guy who had convinced herself canon firesky romance was actually possible and spent the entire cour waiting for something. ANYTHING. to happen between them. even during the final episode i was sitting there, only half jokingly thinking “we popping the biggest bottles when canon firesky happens in the last 5 minutes of the last episode with no buildup”.

it bothered me so much how during each buddy duos fight with L.L Audun they all apparently showed heroicsm by protecting and caring about eachother, enough to leave an impression on Audun, but the audience barely got to see any of that!! i think some of this could have been fixed with better phasing and a better focus.

part 2: everything happens, nothing resolves

man, what was up with all the unresolved and eventually dropped plot threads. i can’t think of a single setup that had a statisfying conclusion to me. L.L Audun came closest, as he was a really fun character but the way he was utilized fell so flat. his potential history with Mr. Legend couldve been touched upon, how he sees himself as a hero despite his action etc etc etc but instead he was just Gregory’s pawn for 10 minutes until he goes berserk and becomes a generic out-of-control final boss.

Little Aurora, who got such massive foreshadowing during the first cour turned out to be a mcguffin woman who will cause vague NEXT hate if she dies. she didn’t even have time to do anything before they caught Gregory and fixed the X issue :/ sigh.

i can’t even list all the potential directions i thought the plot would go based on previous foreshadowing and setup.

part 3: poor sweet darling Yuri

Yuri gets his own section because good lord, why would they do that. Yuri’s entire arch in this cour felt so needlessly, awfully cruel all the way to his apparent unaliving of himself (i say apparent because i’m in denial). the way his relationship with his mother, that was previously strained, was presented very happy and sweet until she gets killed. nothing wrong with Yuri achieving a better relationship with his mother ofc, but it was so transparently done here in order to further increase the manpain he suffers after she’s gone.

mr. legend was also handled very strangely. i thought his force ghost appeared much too frequently, like we get it. youre a manifestation of Yuri’s guilt or whatever, get a job. but jokes aside his last scene with yuri was so weird. him admitting his wrongdoings to Yuri felt like a weird attempt to redeem him? even if i read it as Yuri attempting to cope in the moment, as the only family Yuri has left is the hallucination of his abusive father who even still leaves him all alone to sob in a puddle of his own mothers blood. get what i’m saying? about a lot of this being so needlessly cruel? and oh ho ho we haven’t even gotten to his death scene yet.

i still feel a clump in my stomach and my chest thighten when i think about Yuri’s death scene. it truly makes me feel physically ill. i know that’s probably silly of me, to get physical anxiety symptoms about a corpse looking anime man but jeez. that shit hurted. just the fact that Yuri has to go through all that torment, all that pain, just to off himself after sacraficing himself for the main characters after Kotetsu told him his dad became abusive because he didn’t have a bestie unlike me :) (oughhh i get what that exchange was going for but it pisses me off. why would Kotetsu be more shocked at Mr Legend fixing fights than him being a domestic abuser. Kotetsu. a father and certified wife lover.)

The way they made Yuri so completely alone and isolated as he died once again feels so cruel. the fact that he had to die because he was “irredeemable” for killing awful people (for the most part i’m not gonna argue Edward needed to die), while that being an age old story in media, just feels so hollow.

part 4: positives????

i do feel i need to rewatch the whole thing again before i can truly, truly digest it but the first viewing did not leave a strong impression. i do think the parts i actually liked will hopefully stand out more on rewatch.

like i said, the little moments between buddy duos we got were great. Subaru especially definetly came out on top this cour. he’s definetly one of my favourites after this.

I also want to mention again how much i enjoyed L.L Audun. he was just Reinhardt Overwatch with some doomfist overwatch and allmight mixed in there. i love how huge he was ... (biting my tounge not to go on a tangent about his unused potential again)

i honestly don’t care too much about Kotetsu and Barnaby, mostly because i’m so fixated on most of the supporting cast but i’ll say a lot of their moments were quite good. i don’t enjoy them as a couple or see them as such but the way barnaby really cares for his emotional support old man is touching. the moment Barnaby’s suit breaks and Kotetsu tosses him his own was hype. 

lastly i loved the firesky conversation where Nathan offers to hire Keith as her secretary mostly because the mental image of sexy secretary keith keeps me going in there dark times

Audio Dramas is little stories set at different points of main series. Wanted to hear how Kotetsu and Antonio met each other, how Yuri Petrov got dragged into Heroes’ antics and what he thinks of them, or how one time Keith and Ivan went to fundoshi club that Nathan owns? (you’ll never guess why - and no, I’m not making this up! :D) Now is your chance! You can find translations for them HERE!

Cast Talk is seiyuu, well, talking about pretty much anything – like, what was their reactions to getting a role in Tiger & Bunny, thoughts on characters they play, discussions of drama story and series in general (that has been ongoing / already ended by the time of recording) and just them goofing around. These are not translated, unfortunately, but still fun listen to! :D
