Sleeping at the Wayne mansion had not been planned, but after a long night (several long nights and even longer days) even Clark got tired. Bruce had graciously, and then firmly, insisted Clark stay at the manor instead of flying home, even though it would take him seconds.

All this to say, Clark was perhaps a tad disoriented when he woke up and found his way to the living room of the manor (only made possible by x ray vision).

But there was Bruce. He was in…pajamas. Soft blue pajama pants topped by a knee-length plaid robe, which had obviously been much worn. He was sitting, legs crossed, reading the Daily Planet. The silver at his temples glinted and he turned the page, peering over the top of…fuck. Reading glasses.

Clark’s own glasses, held loosely in his hand, suddenly shattered under his grip.
