yknow how Obi-wan and Quinlan are really close friends and that probably means Aayla and Anakin have a weird sibling/cousin relationship. and that make way for some really funny stuff.
for example, the jedi got to pick battalion colors at the beginning of the war, and Aayla's blue right? so she's like, "hm, it'd be fun if i matched with my men right?", and she goes the next morning and find out that Anakin, the little shit, has already taken blue. He doesn't even like blue.
and thats my little headcanon about how the 501st ended up being painted blue.
#im not saying anakin's the annoying baby sibling but im not not saying it either#just imagine all the shit they get up to#and aaylas master was quinlan theres no way shes sane#clone wars#star wars#star wars headcanons#the 501st#aayla secura#anakin skywalker#obi wan kenobi#quinlan vos#star wars the clone wars#the clone wars#the clones#attack of the clones#sw tcw

I've got Obikin hugs and sharing a bed on my mind today, thanks to @paracosm-draw's Obikin Promptober 2024. So I wrote a quick SFW ficlet (featuring accidental Anakitty).
“Anakin, no! Don’t—”
A blinding white flash and a crackling shockwave sends Obi-Wan and the rest of their expedition team careening backwards. His back collides with the cold stone of the cave ground as the air is punched out of his lungs.
Gasping for breath, Obi-Wan sits up. He grimaces.
“Anakin!” he calls, head pounding.
There’s no answer. Only grunts from the clones around him who have similarly been knocked backward.
When Obi-Wan’s eyes finally refocus, Anakin is nowhere to be found.
“Anakin?”
Obi-Wan scrambles to his feet. Wincing, he grabs his side as he approaches the dark robes, tabards, and tunic that Anakin had been wearing moments ago.
The holocron that Anakin had removed from its pedestal lay on its side next to the pile of clothes, still glowing.
Panic rises in Obi-Wan’s chest. Then he feels a familiar tug on the training bond that he and Anakin should’ve severed, but never did.
“Blrrrt?”
The pile of robes moves and Obi-Wan drops to his knees. Gingerly, he lifts the robe to find a scared, three-legged feline. Its fur is a dark, rusty orange, almost brown—an odd and striking color for a cat, but the exact same shade as—
Leaning in, Obi-Wan studies at the cat and the scar running down its right eye.
“Oh, Anakin,” Obi-Wan mumbles.
~~~~~
“Mrrow.”
“Yes, I’m almost done,” Obi-Wan says.
There are about a dozen or so of Anakin’s vocalizations that Obi-Wan understands. The short, simple meow is his greeting. There’s the high-pitch trill when he’s excited about something, usually when Ahsoka arrives with a new handmade cat toy. A drawn-out growly trill means he’s hungry.
And then there’s the impatient mrrow when he wants Obi-Wan’s attention.
Taking a deep breath, Obi-Wan taps at the screen of his datapad a couple more times and then shuts it down.
In the three rotations since The Incident, Obi-Wan has combed through every piece of information about the holocron that the librarians at the Jedi Archives could transmit to his device and has found nothing to explain Anakin’s present form or how to restore him to human form.
It would be another two rotations before they arrive back in Coruscant to hand the holocron over to the Council for investigation.
Rumors had spread quickly through the 501st that something had happened to their General during their excursion. To spare him any more embarrassment, and maintain morale on the Resolute, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka decided it was best for Anakin to stay sequestered with Obi-Wan in his quarters onboard the Negotiator after he’d been examined by the medical team.
Obi-Wan shuffles over to his bunk where Anakin had been waiting for the last ten minutes. With an exhausted groan, he lies down and closes his eyes.
Anakin emits a low purr as he positions himself next to Obi-Wan, body stretched along his former Master’s side while his furry head is tucked under his bearded chin.
Immediately, their bond is flooded with Anakin’s feelings.
Comfort. Safety. Warmth.
Both Obi-Wan and Ahsoka noticed right away that Anakin’s shielding had become faulty as a result of the accident. There were moments when Anakin would become overcome with worry and fear. Distraught over what might happen if they wouldn’t be able to reverse whatever spell the holocron had cast.
So when Anakin jumped onto the foot of his bed that first night, appearing lost and sad, Obi-Wan’s heart ached. He patted the space next to him, signaling for Anakin to sleep there.
After all, he’d done the same when Anakin was a lost and sad Padawan. He’d sworn back then that he wouldn’t abandon Anakin, and he sure as hell won’t abandon him now.
Obi-Wan tightens his arm around Anakin and places a kiss on his head, between his ears.
“We’ll figure this out,” Obi-Wan whispers. “I promise.”
And the cat hugs him back.
Obi-Wan falls asleep with a paw pressed against his heartbeat.
In his dreams, he’s inundated with love and devotion. The feelings are so intense and overwhelming that Obi-Wan’s flung back to consciousness.
Glancing down at the sleeping cat in his embrace, Obi-Wan realizes the dreams aren’t his.
He closes his eyes and drifts to sleep again, twining himself around a familiar golden thread that binds Obi-Wan to the one who is most precious to him, and wraps him in a protective blanket of comfort and affection.
~~~~~
More than a week’s passed and only a handful of people who have been sworn to secrecy know exactly why Anakin’s been placed on long-term medical leave.
Stubbornly, Obi-Wan refuses to accept another mission until they’ve resolved the issue at hand, heatedly threatening to leave the Order altogether, if that’s what it comes down to. He ignores the look that Master Yoda exchanges with Master Windu.
After half a dozen visits to the Halls of Healing, countless meetings with the Council, there still doesn’t seem to be a solution.
“He’s so sad,” Ahsoka comments quietly one afternoon with Anakin cradled in her arms. She rubs her cheek on his head as Obi-Wan putters around his small kitchen preparing dinner for them.
“I know,” Obi-Wan responds.
He can’t bear to tell her about how Anakin’s bedtime purrs have become plaintive cries. How he buries his face into Obi-Wan’s neck as waves of anguish roll off him.
Obi-Wan forces himself to smile at both of them. He reaches over and takes Anakin’s front paw in his hand and squeezes it encouragingly.
“But we mustn’t lose hope,” Obi-Wan says. “We will find a way to fix this.”
~~~~~
By the third week, Anakin grows more despondent with each passing day. He curls himself into a ball and naps by the sunny window in Obi-Wan’s apartment at the Temple, waiting for him to return home from the Archives or meetings with the Council, ears perked up, awaiting good news that doesn’t come.
Anakin’s happiest when he’s sitting on Obi-Wan’s chest, purring contentedly while he’s being pet. Obi-Wan rubs his fingers under Anakin’s chin, over his cheek. He coos at him. Talks to him. Grins when Anakin presses their foreheads together. Obi-Wan stares into blue eyes that are shaped differently, but that he recognizes nonetheless.
Obi-Wan knows that it’s still Anakin in there. He’d know even without Anakin’s Force signature swirling around them.
The emotions that filter through their bond during Anakin’s dreams always start the same way. Golden and warm, brimming with affection. But they morph into yearning and longing. Then frustration. And finally despair and loneliness as Anakin’s front paw twitches in his sleep.
With a sigh, Obi-Wan hugs him closer, and for a fleeting moment, scolds himself for wishing that Anakin’s human body was next to him—lanky and solid and strong—and continues to push comforting thoughts toward Anakin.
But after a few nights, the depth of Anakin’s consuming grief brings Obi-Wan to tears.
“It’s alright, dearest,” Obi-Wan whispers to the sleeping cat. “I’m here. I’ll always be here.” He presses his face into Anakin’s fur and tries to hold back his sobs. “We’ll figure this out. I love you. No matter what happens, I’ll always love you.”
He dreams of Anakin that night. The way Anakin used to be. His bright eyes and sweet smile. His long arms enveloping Obi-Wan in a tight hug. His voice, whispering in Obi-Wan’s ear that he loves him.
And a feeling of peace settles over him. Obi-Wan is certain he’ll see that beloved face again.
By the time Obi-Wan wakes again, the furry head tucked under his chin has been replaced by soft, honey brown curls. The paw on his chest is now a hand, with its long, elegant fingers tangled in the fabric of his sleep shirt. The small feline form he’d fallen asleep next to transformed into that of a naked, human man.
“Master?”
In an instant, Obi-Wan’s arms are around him, crushing him to his chest as he breathes in the scent of his hair. Relief and joy vibrate across their bond.
“Anakin,” he breathes. “I’m here, dearest. I’ll always be here.”
Tech's Calculations
This edges on NSFW, but only slightly. Lots of tension though 1.5k words
You and Tech find yourselves alone on the Marauder. Little do you know Tech has been playing you like a fiddle.
I'm fixated on these men and probably going to be popping out little drabbles while I crawl out of my skin waiting for a new episode. Tech is my main man so he gets the first spotlight. Enjoyyyy
After the Batchers made a jealous fuss about your ties with the 501st legion, you honestly didn’t expect much to change. At most you’d continue to gradually get closer.
That was not the case.
Whatever illusion you had of their physical boundaries vanished within a rotation. How you overlooked their constant intrusion of each other’s personal space, you’d never know. Wrecker tended towards ‘love taps,’ if you could even call them that with how hard he hit. Hunter started herding you around with his hands whenever he deemed necessary. Crosshair maintained the most distance, but his getting in your space for teasing snide remarks was on the rise. Out of all of them, Echo changed the least.
You knew Echo the longest, credited to your shared history with the 501st, and were the most at ease with. He felt more brotherly than the others and made a habit of being the one to tend your wounds or adjust armor you couldn’t reach.
The most changed with Tech. At least on your part. His straightforward approach to things had him moving on impulse. He always pushed you out of the way or reached over you to grab something or make adjustments, his focus more on the task at hand than personal space. On occasion he fully leaned over you, hand on one shoulder and draped over your other to move for you. It happened once when you failed to activate a safety device while piloting. Another time as you were tweaking your blaster in an ‘ill advised and inefficient manner’ as Tech put it. And, most often, as you played dejarik.
Generally, you managed to keep your cool when the boys got in your space. It proved more difficult with Tech. With his observational skills it didn’t go unnoticed.
Tech noticed changes. He was fixated from your initial, and colorful, reaction to his touch. He found himself instigating you, seeing what interactions elicited what physical reactions to you. While reaching over you to activate the Marauder’s safety device, he purposely pressed into you to see your behavioral and physiological reactions up close.
Tech took note of the absent blush, the momentary hitch in your breathing, and, most interestingly, the way your legs squeezed together. Each time, he found himself struggling to suppress the urge to use his hands to provoke even more reactions, torn between his growing attraction and his analytical restraint.
Between missions, and especially when you were bunked directly across from him in the Marauder, he found himself replaying those little moments and wondering what was next to test.
The perfect opportunity came when a section of your armor’s thigh plate cracked off. Echo, Hunter, and Wrecker were off ship wrapping up your current mission. Leaving you and Tech to prep Marauder and prepare for any emergency pick ups.
Your thigh plate wasn’t just chipped; it had bent inwards and stubbornly refused release. As someone who had taken to armor begrudgingly after joining the Batch, you despised every moment spent in it. Being a Jedi trained in cloth, the weight and restriction of armor grated on your nerves.
“Dank farik!” You hissed as you lost purchase on the thigh plate once more.
Echo was nowhere to assist, allowing Tech his chance.
“At the angle it is bent, the anchoring device will need to be disassembled in order to remove your plate,” he stated matter-of-factly, wasting no time in gathering the necessary tools for the job. “An easy and swift task for me.” From the corner of his eye he caught you defeatedly drop your head
Perched on the lowest cot, you sat with your elbows resting on your knees, leaving just enough space for Tech to maneuver between them. As he slid into the gap, your legs instinctively attempted to close, inadvertently squeezing around Tech's torso. You let out a nervous laugh, "Didn’t mean to crush you there, sorry."
Recognizing the need for caution, Tech responded calmly, "Your thighs are not capable of exerting enough force to crush me. I am fine." He met your gaze, his expression conveying both reassurance and a hint of uncertainty. "Close contact is necessary for me to access the anchoring device. Please inform me if you feel uncomfortable, and I will cease immediately." Despite his eagerness to proceed, Tech prioritized your comfort above all else, silently hoping for your consent to continue.
You blinked at him once, then twice, before closing your eyes and letting your head fall back. “Do what you need to do. Just get this thing off of me.” Your nonchalant response took Tech by surprise, unexpected based on your previous reactions to him.
With your eyes still closed, you leaned back against the cot, almost as if basking in the sun. Tech cautiously slid his gloved hand up your thigh plate, keenly observing for any sign of discomfort or hesitation from you. His thumb grazed your inner thigh, a touch that unexpectedly jolted you back to attention. Tech quickly averted his gaze back to the task at hand, pretending not to notice your reaction.
Pressing his thumb into your thigh to gain better access to the jammed anchor, Tech meticulously worked on dismantling the piece. As his thumb smoothed over your thigh, gradually moving higher, you couldn't help but twitch involuntarily. Sensing your reaction, Tech glanced up, adjusting his thumb ever so slightly. “Are you alright?” he inquired, noting the pink splotches creeping up your throat.
You sat up a little more, really looking at Tech and taking in the sight of him between your legs. Between your legs with a finger inches from the apex of your thighs. Watching a second longer, a thought occurred to you. He knows exactly what he’s doing and he’s doing it on purpose.
Deciding to play along, you flashed him a reassuring smile. “Sure am.” You hummed, spreading your legs slightly wider. “All yours, Tech.” He didn’t continue immediately, but kept his eyes on you. You pushed a little more. “Unless you’re stuck on what to do next.”
Tech didn’t break eye contact as he lowered the spanner and pressed his thumb into your thigh once more. His action elicited a new reaction from you—you bit your lip. “I apologize if that is sensitive,” Tech said, his voice laced with more amusement than usual, as he continued his work.
Tech's gaze remained fixated on you, carefully noting every detail of the interaction. With a calculated ease, he maneuvered his hand between your thigh and the armor, deftly releasing the plate. As his hand flattened against your leg, he proceeded methodically, sliding his hand down inch by inch to slide the thigh plate off.
Even after the task was completed, Tech lingered, his hands remaining in place. There was a brief pause between you two until you brought your legs back together to close in on him.
"Is this how Echo typically removes your armor?" Tech inquired in a low breath.
You managed a breathy, "No."
In response, Tech adjusted his grip, his lower hand now circling to the back of your thigh while the other lightly gripped your inner thigh. A shiver ran through you, accompanied by a soft sound escaping your lips.
"Is this how you typically react to Echo touching you?" Tech's asked more confidently than before..
You leaned in closer, meeting his gaze. "What is your hypothesis?"
"I haven't observed you and Echo in such a position," Tech admitted. "Thus, I don't have enough factual data to accurately hypothesize. But my hope is that no, you do not. I think I'd like to be the only one you react to in this way."
An ache bloomed between your legs, just above his fingers. Your hips rock forward just enough that his teasing touch brushed onto your aching bits.
“Tech,” Hunter’s voice broke the silence but still neither of you moved. Tech’s hand remained in place. “Is the ship ready to go? We are inbound and ready to get off this force forsaken planet.
Before Tech moved his hand, you leaned forward to activate the comm for him and bring your face within inches of his.
“Everything is in order.” A subtle crack in Tech’s usually composed demeanor was evident as he responded, “Ready when you are.”
You released the comm at the same time Tech pressed his hand into you and you hissed at the sweet pressure. His eyes widened slightly and in an awe struck voice he said, “Fascinating.” With that he pulled away and stood, leaving you aching even more.
“It would not be ideal to be discovered in this position.” He extended a hand to help you stand. “Although, I look forward to finding myself in such a position in the near future.”
You accepted his hand, but as he assisted you to your feet, you couldn't resist pulling him closer. “All this time, I thought you were oblivious.”
Tech rolled his eyes, a hint of amusement dancing through them. “Obliviousness is not a characteristic I possess,” he countered, his gaze unwavering. “Every action I take is deliberate.”
“Noted.” You reached up and quickly pinched his cheek. “For the record, I too look forward to finding you in such a position in the near future.”
Was reading this old book written back in us-civil-war/Victorian era when human hair jewelry was considered the height of fashion. Anyway the girl gives her friend a lock of her hair to make a jewelry piece from because it's such a 'lovely color and quality' and the guy who is courting her flips out that some high society nobody is just adorning themselves with her loveliness which he considers his... AnYway. Big Obikin vibes. Do you see the Obikin? Can you imagine the sheer explosion that would happen if a senator asked for a lock of red hair?
oh i absolutely see the obikin like let's add in a clone wars dynamic here where like. senators and high society bloodsuckers start to want to show their support for the jedi and the GAR by wearing tokens from the jedi around in everyday life and anakin doesn't think much about this. he gives padmé a lock of his hair and he even suggests she wear a bit of 501st blue to really push the support home and he doesn't think much about it. he really doesn't.
until he's attending a closed doors senator meeting with some random woman and obi-wan and him and she not-so-subtly asks obi-wan for a token and anakin internally just can't understand. it makes sense when it's padmé but this random person??? asking for?? something of obi-wan's?????
and then obi-wan agrees?? with a sort of shy and rather self-abashing moment of laughter about how could anyone want his hair or colors or token??
and anakin is just 👁️👄👁️ (broken)
(the explosion happens 1-3 business days afterwards, when anakin sees that senator again and she's wearing a garish orange dress at padmé's function, as if she has any right to those colors)
#asks#obikin#like i can see different senators dressing in the colors of their favorite troops#and they send them money for supplies or something as they wear the color#and anakin is just really offended to see obi-wans orange on different senators#he ends up wearing it at some function#not because he donated money to the 212th or anything#just cause he can't stand that some people are claiming parts of obi-wan he hasn't yet touched
Incorrect CANON 501st Quotes
Fives: I have a myriad of things I like to do to drive Rex crazy.
Echo: ... Such as?
Fives: I like to turn the volume on everything to 19. Not to eighteen, an even number, and not to 20, a round number, but 19, because it's stupid and has no real effect other than making certain people go absolutely insane.
Echo: That's monstrous. I love it.
Fives: I have more.
Echo: *curiosity piqued*
Fives: Everytime I walk past him, I put a small mark on Rex's armor with washable marker right on his arm. He can never figure out where it comes from. It's childish but funny.
Echo: Yeah that one's pretty childish.
Fives: I often sneak into his quarters and I'll switch just a few things around. Like I'll move his lamp from one side of his desk to the other, and I'll switch his razor out with a different colored one, and I'll take the ink inserts out of all his pens, then I watch as he stands in his room and slowly breaks down. I used to switch out his caff for decaf, but... he sorta went comatose when I did that so that's the one I don't do anymore.
Echo: It's a miracle his sanity is still intact.
Rex, walking in with his eye twitching and his armor painted pink: I... am going to END YOU.
Darkess on Umbara Chp.12 (Rex x Reader)
Chapter 11. Chapter 13.
Friendly-Fire
cw: Rex x Reader, Reader is a medic, incorrect military procedure, graphic descriptions of injuries, blood, swearing, death and battle, Canon character death, Spoilers for the Umbara Arc, Pong Krell is an asshole, reader insert, names of non-canon dead clones, Grief, Dissociation, SUICIDE, friendly-fire, POV of dissociation, reader is gender neutral, no use of (Y/N), if i miss a tag LMK
MINORS DNI
“Stay alert. The enemy has our weapons and our armor, they may try to trick us with an ambush.”
You kept your head up as Rex led the few squads through the dark umbaran forest. He was at the front, pistols ready.
Your location was near the back, keeping close to Tup and Dogma. You’ve learned the two were from the same batch, and it made you wonder.
How could Tup be so…sweet and polite while Dogma was so vindictive and tense?
“Watch out, Dogma!” Case in point, the trooper with a painted tear stopped his friend from stepping on a vine, “I saw that thing attack Hardcase. It'll chew you up and spit you out.” He warned, picking up a fist-sized rock, “Here, watch.” The soldier threw the stone, hitting a dark mound hidden in the ash-colored dirt. As soon as it hit the camouflage beast, the creature growled before waving its tendrils and opening its fanged mouth.
Dogma jumped back, “Ew!”
“Try not to get eaten by them,” You deadpanned, “I won’t be trying to rescue you if you do end up in its mouth.”
He was about to respond before being cut off by a barrage of blue blaster bolts.
Blue? So Krell was right. The Umbarans stole clone weaponry.
“We're under attack!”
The squads began to step backwards, getting behind cover. Two soldiers went down and you rushed past Tup and Dogma to their side. Your training kicked in as you assessed. The closest one to you had a smoking bolt right through his helmet.
Fatal shot. Instant death. His name was Uno.
The other soldier twitched and you grabbed his arm before dragging him behind one of the dark-wooded trees. Two other troopers were behind the cover firing in the direction of the shots.
“I got you,” You spoke to him, taking off his helmet.
No head injuries. Burn on his side. Most likely a graze. His name is Ryder.
An explosion, most likely a grenade, hit the ground a few feet from you. Despite that, you remained calm, “Stay awake, I’m going to fix you right up,” In one swift movement you had a patch out of one of your packs and placed over the blaster burn. You worked quickly, getting him stabilized.
Ryder flinched and groaned, but nodded, “Thanks Doc.”
“Where’s the enemy!?” One of the troopers next to you shouted, clearly unsure where to shoot.
The one kneeling beside him answered, “I don't know! I can't see anything!”
The trooper who asked the question flew back, hitting the ground. His chest had two smoldering holes through it. The plastoid melted and burned, his skin turning to embers from the heat.
Blaster bolts through the heart. Fatal. His name. What was his name? Barr. His name was Barr.
You looked up, spotting Kix tending to a writhing trooper. Another missile hit the tree above him, raining glowing red branches and burning ash down on them.
A blue shot nicked your cover, barely missing your head and you ducked.
“Get those mortars up here!” You heard Rex command. He was somewhere behind cover in front of you.
Good. Stay safe, cyare. You prayed silently to yourself.
Tup and Dogma ran forward, heavy weapons ready. They were followed by a group of about six other men, also armed with mortars. They knelt, keeping low to the ground. They fired, and the sky rang out with a familiar whistle of falling explosives.
The ground trembled with the power from such shots, and smoke began to billow from the woods in front of the 501st squads. You peaked, taking the brief moment to dash to Kix’s side and aid him with the wounded.
Just as you got safely behind cover, blaster bolts fired again from the enemies side.
“Anyone have a visual?” The clone captain asked, keeping behind the massive, black trunk of an umbaran tree. Several shots scraped the wood narrowly missing Rex, but he didn’t even flinch.
Kix stood, leaning out from behind his own cover, he steadied his scope, “Negative. It's too dark.” He dove back, barely dodging a shot directly to the head. After a moment, he peaked again, “Wait! I see them! They're disguised as clones, all right.”
The squads surged forward, charging the moment they had a visual.
Chaos reigned as blasters and grenades littered the air and ground. You kept back and out of sight, grabbing any wounded and getting them behind cover. You could manage with the supplies you had, even if the Umbarans seemed more skilled than usual.
One of the troopers, Filter, beside you cried out and stumbled back. He knelt down, gripping his smoking upper arm.
“Don’t move.” You got to his side and began to tend to his wound.
Direct hit. Bone visible. Muscles burnt. This was similar to the injury you sustained before taking the airbase. You knew exactly what to do.
As you treated him, you looked up, taking in the battlefield. Dead and injured littered the dark ground. Troopers were firing. The very earth shook with each explosion that went off. With dread, you realized you couldn’t see Rex.
You commed him, immediately, “Captain, where are you?” Your heart raced when you didn’t get an answer. You searched the battlefield again.
Your eyes landed on a dead Umbaran wearing clone armor. A puddle of crimson blood was growing larger around the body. You recognized the gold of the 212th.
So that's the supplies that were stolen. Weapons and armor of the 212th…
Your thoughts halted. Do Umbarans bleed red?
“Captain!” Tup’s voice came through the comm, “We're sustaining heavy casualties!”
You were frozen, eyes searching the field, “Rex!?” In your desperation, you commed him again.
He answered, sprinting past you, waving his arms, “Everyone stop firing!” He cried out, clearly panicked and distressed.
Rex? What was going on-?!
“We’re shooting at our own men!” The 501st captain shouted, running straight into the line of fire. He threw off his helmet as he continued to clamor, “They're not Umbarans! They're clones!”
Abandoning safety, you stood, getting out from your cover, eyes wide.
Clones!?
Rex continued forward, commanding his men in a desperate attempt to end the battle, “Take off your helmets! Show them you're not the enemy!”
As he ran through the field, the shots began to wean, but the fight wasn’t entirely over, “Cease fire! They're not Umbarans. They're clones!” Your despairing lover tackled the 212th trooper in front of him and ripped off the trooper's helmet before standing, “Look! We're clones! We're all clones!”
The battle halted in shock and anguish.
The soldiers around you took off their helmets, some dropping them on the ash colored dirt. The 501st began to step out behind cover, coming face to face with the 212th.
Their own brothers.
There was the sound of a blaster loading next to you. Filter had the barrel of his rifle settled under his chin.
“No!” You reached out, only to be too late.
He pulled the trigger.
Your stare was on his unmoving body, eyes wide and arm stretched out.
Fyre. Vim. Oz. Ringo. North. Gabe. Tro. Tess. Zeb. Sante. Reign. Pheon. Dawn. Nim. Jamie. Hek. Recon. Mav. Zeo. Fisher. Hinge. Trident. Iron. Mesh. Steele. Bruno. Zeke. Jumper. Aura. Dia. Silk. Forty. Thrall. Hardcase. Uno. Barr. Filter.
You looked up, eyes spotting Rex across the field. He looked devastated. His knees were on the ground and his head was in his hands.
Be strong. For him.
“Kix, give me your supplies!” You barked, shutting down your emotions. Coldness filled your body and blood. Your focus became sharp. The only sound your ears registered was a high pitched ringing. You no longer felt like yourself.
Save as many of them as you can. Now!
You got to action, searching the dead and triaging the wounded. The world was gone. All that mattered was saving the troopers.
You lost time. At some point, you realized that whenever you blinked, your hands were on a different soldier. The wounds didn’t matter. The blood didn't matter.
You were going to save them.
Someone else joined you in your mission to aid the wounded. Kix, you think. He gathered himself together enough to help.
Save them.
Then, you realized the medic of the 212th was beside you, helping stop the bleeding of a 501st soldier.
Save them.
You blinked again, more time had passed, and you were straddling a 212th soldier. He writhed under you from the pain of you breaking his ribs to perform CPR. Hurt but alive.
Save them. Save them. Save them!
You moved on to another soldier. You held his hand as he died, surrounded by others of both the 212th and the 501st. He had a painted twi’lek girl on his helmet. Once you stood, someone grabbed you.
Hardcase? No. he was gone.
Silk? No. you had gotten him killed earlier.
Your name was called, not your title. Not your rank. Your name. They were trying to claw you back into the present. Your mind refused, you moved on to another trooper. Tending to his wounds before someone else grabbed your wrist, halting you.
Who were you staring at? You knew you recognized them…but you had forgotten names.
Tup? Was Tup alive?
You grabbed the wrist of someone else approaching to your left. In their hand were sedatives, you recognized. The needle was aimed for you.
No. You had work to do. You had to save as many of them as possible.
They dropped the injection, and you stepped away, only to be tackled. The hard earth slammed your mind back into focus.
“You did it! There's no more injured!” Rex was on top of you, keeping you pinned. His brown eyes were wide and full of fear, “You can stop now, Mesh’la.” His breathing was shaky. His cheeks were marked with tears, “You don't need to save anyone else.”
It felt like you woke up. The world around you snapped into place. The ground beneath you was solid. The air in your lungs was crisp, and tasted of smoke and iron. The ringing in your ears disappeared.
With shaky hands, you held your lover's face. He was alive. He was here. So were you. The both of you were here, in the present.
“Are you hurt?” You whispered. Sighing in relief when he shook his head, “What happened, Rex?”
“Krell,” He answered, helping you to your feet, “Krell sent them to these coordinates to stop the enemy. He told the 212th that Umbarans were wearing clone armor.”
He fucking tricked everyone!
Your eyes roamed the former battlefield. The survivors had managed to collect the fallen, and lay their bodies down. You noticed that Kix and the 212th medic were getting names and CT numbers, all to add to the list of casualties. Too many good clones were still, waiting to be marked as dead.
Krell killed them all.
The five stages of grief ran through your body. They hit you in waves, but you remained standing, surveying the world around you.
Denial.
Anger.
Bargaining.
Depression.
And acceptance.
But right now. All you felt was one thing, creating a sixth stage of grief.
Vengeance.
“Something has to be done.” You looked to the captain. The coldness had left your body the moment Rex tackled you. Instead, every cell in your body burned with the heat of rage.
“We all know who's responsible for what happened here,” Like you, your lover held the same wrath. His beautiful eyes were a storm of righteous fury, “I’m getting a squad together. Krell will face justice.”
You wanted in.
Clone Armor and Poster Symbolism in The Bad Batch Season Three
(Brace yourself, loooooong discussion under the cut).
So I’ve long been fixated on the symbolism of the clone’s appearance in Star Wars - it first began in The Clone Wars, with each clone discovering their own individuality and decorating both their bodies and their armor accordingly - think of the Republic crest which decorates both Jesse’s face and his helmet, and becomes a hard-hitting symbol of the end of the Republic which accompanies his death.
In The Bad Batch, clone armor has always been used to symbolize the character’s moral position- initially the main colors of the batch’s armor are black and red, showing both their power, and the element of mystery and otherness that they hold in comparison to standard clone groups. Crosshair’s turn to the empire is shown by him shedding his own armor, and donning a new, entirely black set, with no individuality at all.
In season two, the batch began removing certain sections of their armor and added pieces of a more civilian nature, such as Hunter’s scarf. The pieces of armor that remained were painted a lighter colour, showing that they were gradually leaving their lives as soldiers, or at least those of members of an elite squad, behind them.
In contrast, if you look at a character like Rex, he is still wearing the same armor from his service in the GAR, with only a few minor yet still currently unexplained modifications. He is the one holding onto the past and his service in the army, and it is his identity which drives him to save as many of his brothers as he can.
All of these ideas are particularly apparent in the new season three character posters which have just been released.
Now, while I have previously discussed the idea that the clone assassin is Tech, these posters have me equally convinced that it could actually be Cody.
I believe that Cody has the longest history of any clone in the franchise, being the only clone of any significance in the live-action films, and being prominent in both canon and legends material. As a standard clone, he would most likely have started his commission in the GAR with the general, all white trooper armor, and then decorated it himself as he gained individuality after leaving Kamino. In Brotherhood, the novel which takes place in 22BBY, Cody is described as wearing yellow armor, but, as we see in The Clone Wars, which takes place slightly later, his armor, along with that of the 212th, is more of an orange/gold. This small change could symbolize Cody’s own choice of armor paint being subtly darkened by his experience of war - he is still a loyal soldier of the GAR, but his experiences have changed him.
The orange armor quickly became synonymous with Cody, which is why it was such a shock to audiences to see him with grey armor in The Bad Batch season two. It is a sign that his individuality has been stripped away from him by the empire, but Cody himself still retains the capacity for individual thought and decision making, as shown by his actions in the episode. I also believe that clone armor colors not only symbolize the clones themselves, but also their Jedi generals - the 212th orange symbolized the positivity and energy which came alongside serving under General Kenobi, just as the 501st blue symbolized the freedom and fresh viewpoints of General Skywalker. Therefore, Cody’s grey armor also symbolizes his grief for what he did to Obi-Wan - the man who first provided him the space to discover his own individuality is now ‘dead’ at Cody’s own hand.
I have also long believed that there is a high chance that Cody did not end up escaping at the end of this episode, and was instead captured by the empire for use in experiments.
The release of these character posters seems very deliberate - Star Wars has always been about the battle between light and dark, but due to it’s association with the force, I don’t think we have ever seen clones portrayed in posters in such a manner. The cinematography staff of The Bad Batch have been very vocal recently on the importance of lighting in the show, and I believe that the posters are no exception.
If we look at these poster in order, it is interesting that Wolffe’s seems to be darker than the one featuring Hemlock and Emerie, especially considering how stable he appeared in the past episode.
I believe that this symbolizes that there will be consequences for Wolffe for his decision to let Rex and the others escape, and that he will be subjected to the same treatment which was used in an attempt to change Crosshair, which will leave him the unstable individual we first meet in Rebels.
This idea of placing the clones on a scale from light to dark has me concerned that this season will show the end of Cody’s arc, shifting from the bright white armor he first began with, ending with him wearing the dark armor of a clone assassin.
This idea is only furthered by Rex’s group referring to the clone assassins as ‘shadows’. The reason behind the name is obvious- the clones are shadows of their former selves, having been stripped of all identifying information and individuality.
Considering that Cody’s bright orange armor has long been thought to represent the sun, it would be devastating to see him reduced to an operative with no name and no personality, his only identifying feature being dark armor he would never choose to wear himself. Though I hate to think of it, it does make sense to portray Cody in this way to truly highlight the rise of the empire in the same way Jesse symbolized the end of the Republic - if this theory does turn out to be true, Cody’s arc may have always been intended to show his progression from sunburst to shadow.
HIIIIIIIIIIII🫨can I make a request for Anakin x Clone! Fem Reader with an Established Relatioship (particularly married) 🤭where she is switched to Obi Wans Squadron after being apart of Anakin's squadrons for a long time. Anakin isnt too happy about it so he tries to convince the council to keep you on his Battalion but it fails obviously 🙄 so when you come back from a mission he's all over you 🤭🤭
3 Weeks Is Too Long- Anakin Skywalker x Reader
Listen y’all I know they have bunk beds in the barracks but in this imagine everyone has a cabine or a dorm ish type room that they share. But Y/N gets her own room. Cuz you know what the Republic and the Empire did them dirty. They should’ve been given a nicer place to sleep for all the shit they went through. Also this is porn with a plot I’m sorry but also not hehehe. Ummmmmm let me know if you guys want more!
Warnings; There’s a bunch ummmmmmm do I remember all of them no but I will tell you what I do remember, Overstimulation, multiple orgasms, choking if you look hard enough, P in V, fingering, oral (M & F) ummm I think that’s it 😅. If you’re a minor don’t read.
MY REQUESTS ARE OPEN!!!!!!!!
——————————————————————————-
Anakin had woken up to an empty bed, the blanket covering his waist. His eyes scanned his room, you were already gone. This was a daily routine, but every once in a while he’d hoped you’d stay in bed with him longer. He craved your warmth, he craved your touch, he craved hearing the sound of your heart beat, or the rumble of laughter that echoed in his ears. But all of that came at the price of secrecy and your marriage. The love part was the easiest thing about the situation. Anakin couldn’t complain too much, with you being the only female clone to ever been created, you were stationed with his squadron. For that he was ever grateful for. It meant that you were constantly by his side, he could protect you, care for you and most importantly be with you. Of course it was hard to spend one on one time with him, at least your presence was around him. All he had to do was look at you and be okay.
Anakin had finished getting dressed, clipping his lightsaber onto his belt. Exiting his room heading for the Grand Republic Military Base. Anakin had assumed you’d spend your time preparing for a mission, or conversing with Rex or Ahsoka only if she had beaten him there, you were very close with them. You wouldn’t have it any other way, with them it made time go by faster. That’s what you’d tell Anakin especially when he’s bossy. In those moments he’d look at the three of you and threaten to separate you, in all actuality he enjoyed it too much. He typically takes full advantage of certain situations when Obi Wan is around. Watching his brother figure become a father to all four of you made it that much more special. Telling Anakin that not only is he himself a bad influence but that his own influences influence the three of you to be bad influences. In that exact order. It was something Anakin held near and dear to his heart. Until right now in this moment when he witnessed you carrying your gear out of the 501st section of the military hangar to Obi Wan's 212th section.
You threw your remaining gear onto your starfighter jet. You had worn an all black long sleeve crop top and black leggings that go under your normal clone gear. You were beginning to suit up. Anakin expected to see you in his blue and white colors, instead he was met with a Sandy orange and white. Anakin stormed over to you, Obi Wan nowhere in sight, the other troops minded their business tending to their own preparations.
“ Y/N!” Anakin called out your name, you turned your head in his direction as you strapped on your boots
“ General?” You replied knowing you had listening ears, mainly Ahsoka and Rex who already knew about you and Anakin’s relationship.
“ What do you think you are doing? Why are you wearing Obi Wan's squadron colors?” He asked you, arms crossed, his nose flared, anger. You slide your foot off the box you used to help you strap your boots on. You scrunch your eyebrows together in confusion.
“ What do you mean why? Didn’t they tell you? You questioned him, shaking your head as you pulled your protective chest and back plate over your head adjusting it so it fit perfectly before strapping it into place.
“ Tell me what? Who gave you those orders? Was it Obi Wan?” Anakin had become confused, his anger subsided only momentarily. He had mixed emotions, part of him hoped there was a good reason as to why Obi Wan would request you or why the council would put you on his squadron. Either way he didn’t like that you were separate from him. It made him worried, he was so used to having you around him, whether close by or a few clicks away on the battlefield, but never a whole galaxy away.
You were struggling with one of the straps in particular that you were fighting to grab. You heaved an irritated sigh. Your eyes scanned the area making sure no one was around that could see you. You turned around with your back facing Anakin. His own eyes also scanned the perimeter while his hands worked on fastening the straps. He felt your warmth deep through your clothes and into the gear. His heart yearned to be wrapped in your arms, your comfort, to have you close by his side. Again anxiety pierced his chest. His hands stayed on you even after he finished with the straps. He truly didn’t want you to go.
“Thanks and No- General Windu and General Yoda were the ones who gave me the order. They didn’t specify what my role is, for now I am just back up.-” You turned around to face Anakin. “-I’ll be gone for two weeks, three at best. Depending on the circumstances of the mission”
He was furious, his jaw tense and his hands clenched.
“ Two weeks?! That’s too long. I need you here where I can keep my eyes on you! We’ve got our own missions to handle.. I’m going to talk with the council to get them to change their minds-“
“ -Ani I can take care of myself. It's only a couple weeks and it'll be fine. The squadron will be fine without me. You’ll be fine without me. This isn’t the first time I’ve been separated from you. I’ll be back before you even notice I’m gone-“ You tried to reassure him but there was no reasoning with him.
“ Of course I’m going to notice if you’re gone! They should’ve discussed this with me! What happens if something goes wrong?”
“Woah hold on, nothing is going to happen alright? It’s nothing I haven’t done for you before. I am very capable of doing my job. What’s going on with you?”
“ It's- nothing-You're not going anywhere. I’m going to talk to the council to reconsider and find another soldier to replace you-“ Anakin growled.
“-No it’s not nothing. I am going on this mission, whether you want me to or not. So if you’ll excuse me General Skywalker I’ve got a mission to complete and prepare for” You stormed off walking back towards the direction of your barracks. Sometimes Anakin can be too overprotective and it can get in the way of things. Sometimes it made it difficult to work with one another. Both of your hearts were in the right place but at times it clashed.
Anakin sitting and stirring with his own anger, taking off to the Jedi council chamber. They were going to switch you back to your original post one way or another. He would be damned if you headed off with Obi Wan's squad. Not to say that Obi Wan wouldn’t keep you safe, he could but it was the condition and manner in which you were being taken from him. He didn’t like the fact that the council would move you without notifying him. There was chatter amongst the members of the council.
“ Young Skywalker” Mace Windu announced, all heads turning in their direction. Obi Wan standing in the middle of the room. Anakin joined him.
“ Master Windu, Obi Wan Council” He addressed them as he bowed.
“ To what do we owe the pleasure” Mace asks, hands resting on the arm chair.
“One of my commanding officers is being transported to Master Kenobi's squadron. I’m here to ask you to reconsider.” Anakin slightly looked at Obi Wan who had crossed his arms looking with disapproval. At one point His former master would remind him to stay in control of his emotions.
“ Reconsider we will not” Yoda speaks with his hand crossed on his cane.
“ The decision has been made, Young Skywalker, Obi Wan had requested for a few more reinforcements. Which we are glad to supply him with.”
“ Let me ease your mind Skywalker, your commander is not alone, each squadron is providing one soldier to accompany Obi Wan’s forces” Master Plo places a calmness to his voice, his emotion and his force signature. Anakin’s anger is still bubbling but begins to cool off not quite.
“ I see. I still don’t understand how I was failed to be informed of this decision” Anakin retorts.
“ Anakin” Obi Wan hissed.
“ Right his is, wrong he is not” Yoda nods
“ We failed to inform you simply because it was none of your concern how we moved the troops” Mace replies, the two having their own version of pissing contest to see where it would go.
“ It is my concern when one of my soldiers is placed on another force”
“ The fate of the republic is within our troops. You are asking to pull a soldier out for the sake of keeping a reputation? For what exactly?” kit Fisto asked as he squinted his eyes at Anakin.
Anakin sighed “ I-“
Obi Wan looked at him shaking his head before the council. “ -If you’ll excuse my former padawan I’m afraid he has lost sight of the bigger picture. War tends to side track anyone’s thoughts” Obi Wan was right, it was the same words he had said to Anakin and the same words Anakin said to Ahsoka. It was frustrating but all of it seems to find a way back to Anakin himself. It’s like tasting his own medicine.
“ Of course, thank you for your concern Anakin but our decision will remain the same” Mace nods his head towards, Anakin and Obi Wan dismissing them. Anakin huffed as the two walked out of the council chamber.
“ Anakin”
“ Yes Master”
“ I will take good care of Y/N” Obi Wan knew of your relationship, sure he was a little bit far behind in figuring it out but it was only because he wasn’t ready to admit Anakin’s truth. Anakin stopped in his tracks looking at his dear friend. Obi Wan placed a hand on Anakin’s shoulder. “-No harm will come to her. I promise”.
“ Thank you… Master.” Anakin nodded following his Master's movements in the direction of his starfighter. Regret filled Anakin’s chest the way you two left things off in an argument that he started. It was too late, for him to say goodbye, you would already be on the battle cruiser by now. Obi wan being the last to leave. He supposed he’d now have to wait till you get back.
————————-
Your mission was the longest three weeks of your life, you were supposed to only be there for two weeks but your mission ran a little longer. To be honest you expected that at least. When you had left you were angry and you wanted to make Anakin feel your loss. As the weeks grew on you found yourself yearning for his bed, sleeping next to him, his snide remarks and his overconfidence. You missed your friends, you missed your squad, you missed the food that you would get at the Cafeteria. Rations only got you so far. You were homesick so to speak.
You had arrived home three hours ago, you had taken off all your gear just leaving you in your black long sleeve top and black leggings. You carried your gear into your room which was one good thing you enjoyed about being the only female clone. You threw your items in the places they belonged heading back over to the Hangar. It was nearing nightfall, most clones had either gone to the cantina or to a club. The rest would be stationed in their barracks, sleeping or doing another form of activity that involved heavy breathing and sweat. You sighed. You walked over to supply area grabbing items to help break down and rebuild a separatist droid's head. You needed the battle plans and you promised Obi Wan you’d get it back to him ASAP.
Ahsoka was kind enough to bring you a few snacks from the cafeteria, you weren’t really hungry, rather you were anxiously waiting in your room for Anakin to arrive. Unfortunately Ahsoka was the one to break the bad news to you, that Anakin was going to be extremely late, hence nightfall. You were worried Anakin might not have wanted to see you because of the move between squads but the bigger part of you thought maybe not. Maybe he missed you as much as you missed him. You held the spoon in your mouth as you sucked on the chocolate pudding. You fingers typed away on the data pad as you connected to the Droid's hardware. Wires were attached to both ends of the droid's head and too your data pad. This was good you needed a distraction, half the entire 212th squad and 501st squad went out for drinks which meant that your barracks and your hall where your room was stationed was clear. You turned on some good music to help keep you distracted from Anakin and while you worked.
Anakin on the other hand was dying during the briefing. He could feel your presence nearby and it was driving him mad. He wanted to be with you and not in this-meeting. Sure Obi Wan is going over important details but Anakin’s mind refused to let him comprehend anything. His hands fisted his pants, his leg bouncing up and down. By now Anakin was counting down the minutes till he could escape. It was starting to feel like he would never leave. He was desperate for you, wanting, needing-What he needed was a plan to excuse himself. Anakin began to concoct a plan, he checked the exits of the meeting hall, he checked the alarm system , and a feebale excuse of ‘I need to use the restroom’ should suffice. Thankfully the meeting ended sooner rather than later giving him a chance to opt out of his extreme ditching plans. He took off quickly, not giving anyone a chance to stop him from getting to you.
Anakin practically ran from the Jedi temple all the way to the Republic Military Base. He had no intention of stopping till he could get to you. He could feel the anxiety and the nerves emitted from you. Normally you were calm, warm, relaxed, something was bothering you. It could’ve been the delay from meeting each other or the argument that took place three weeks ago. You two hadn’t really had the chance to talk about it. Now it was Anakin’s turn to feel the same anxiety and worry. Yet he refused, he just needed to see you, then everything will be alright. When Anakin reached the hangar, he didn’t see you, your star fighter vacant, he followed the path of your presence leading him back to your room. Anakin slowed down from a sprint, to a jog all the way down to a brisk walk. As soon as he reached your door, he opened it, there he found you, with your hair haloing around your head naturally, you were standing about the droid turning its head every other direction, then typing on the data pad. It was when you heard the sound of Anakin’s footsteps taking a step closer did you realize he was in there with you.
Reality finally setting in your heart pounded in your chest, relief flushing through your body. The worry and anxiousness evaporated from you. Your husband stood there breathing heavily, taking a step in your direction. Your eyes softened as you looked at him, Anakin couldn’t wait a second longer.
“ Ani-I’m-“
He rushed to you, taking your face into his hands, his lips crashing down on yours. You both moved together, twisting your heads to deepen the kiss. Your tongues fighting against each other, the air leaving both of your lungs. Anakin’s hands found themselves lazily cupping your neck and jaw. Your hands grasped at his clothes near his hips holding onto him. His fingers eventually left your jaw and neck traveling into your hair. Your kisses changed pace, turning from rushed to languid and slow. You both pulled away from each other slightly, Anakin’s hands slid down from your neck and to your waist. His fingers dip under your top. Your hand moved upwards wrapping themselves around his neck. Both of your breathing matching, “ Don’t apologize. I'm sorry for not trusting you to handle yourself. Or the council.”
“I should’ve told you regardless if the council told you or not. But Ani, I need you to trust me enough to do my job and to love you.” You completely moved away from Anakin and walked to the other side of the room towards the bed. He sighed as he watched you moving to the side of the room near the bathroom right directly across from you. He leaned against the wall his arms across his chest. Maker, he looked sooo good and inviting. You wanted to cart your fingers through his hair, scrape your nails along his body. You want to leave marks on him just as much as he wanted to do it to you. You wanted him to hold you, you wanted to hold him-No you needed to get something off your chest first. Anakin was struggling himself after sharing that heated kiss with you, he wanted you more than anything else. You looked tempting, your hair messy from his fingers, your lips plump from the harsh and languid kisses. Your body was buzzing, he could feel it. You were distracted but you were trying to stay focused..
“ I do trust you.-” He says softly, Anakin remains in his spot, his eyes following you as you pace. You stopped in place standing in front of him. “ What I don’t trust is the war”
“ War is war, Anakin. You of all people know that. We both have jobs that involve us leaving for a certain amount of time. If anything you're a Jedi and I should be more pissed at you for leaving all the time.” Anakin removed himself from the wall taking a step another step in your direction. His face softens as he grabs your waist with his hands pulling you impossibly close. His long eyelashes fluttered against his cheeks. His eyes flicker between yours, love flowing between the two of you, heat and passion beginning to take form. He nods his head gently as he leans closer to you.
“ You’re right I tend to leave far more often than you do-“ He sighs, his hands caressing your hips as he backs you slowly up against the wall. “- My wife finally returned home after three long weeks of hard work. Home to her husband who can be overprotective at times… Who missed her more than life itself-” His nose bumps into yours, tension rising between you, your breathing picks up. His eyes half closed, yours following suit.
“ Fuck it, we can talk about this later, I missed you so much Ani” You moaned pulling him down to you, your lips colliding in a heated frenzy.
“-Good-Idea-“ Anakin replied between kisses as he grabbed at your clothes pulling them off of you. Anakin wasted no time in getting you bare and in front of him. Your hands gripped at Anakin’s clothing trying to get them off of him. Jedi clothing was-annoying and frustrating, the need for Anakin becoming overwhelming to the point his clothes were pissing you off. Anakin paid no mind, as he was too concentrated on you, feeling you, caressing you, touching you. His love for you was incredibly unconditional. Anakin’s hands were back on you, cupping your jaw, head twisting as your lips crashed into each other taking one another in. You pulled away again trying to get Anakin’s clothes off. You moaned and groaned at the same time feeling sexually aroused and flustered. Your fingers struggle to get through the first layer. Anakin however was unbothered by it and could care less if his clothes were on or off he just wanted you. He continues his trail of kisses down your cheek, jaw, and to your throat.
“ Do-you-have-to-have so many layers” you whined as you were able to pull off one layer before getting to the next. Anakin too focused on attaching his lips to yours, too focused on you.
“ I’m a Jedi Y/N. It's required to wear this many layers.” He teases you. He moved away just enough to help you remove his last layer of clothing. You were practically bouncing on your feet from anticipation. As soon as you saw his beautiful skin, your hands pushed his material away, both of you completely naked. With a wave of his hand the door locked to your bedroom. At the same time he backed you towards your desk, he used his arm to swipe the disassembled droid along with your data pad of the desk. His lips back onto yours lips never seaming to leave each other,
“ -I was-working on- that droid-“ You tell Anakin again in between kisses.
“- Hmhm- just like -you left for- three weeks-working-“
“ Anakin-” You warned him as lips landed back down onto yours another passionate and heated string of kisses. Your arousal was affecting him, he could feel through your presence, your emotions, your signature becoming increasingly evident, you were driving him mad. His lips leaving yours once more, Anakin lifted you up, throwing you down on your desk that he cleared off. He takes his gloved hand placing it on his lips, he uses his teeth, pulling at the straps helping him remove it. You propped yourself up on your hands, watching as he shamelessly pushed your already clenching thighs apart. The wetness from your body is growing immensely. He placed himself between your legs.
Anakin dropped down towards your face, his lips smashing down on yours as he hungrily takes each kiss you give him. Without warning metal fingers grip onto your breasts kneading and pulling at your nipple. While his flesh hand grips the back of your neck and some of your hair. You hiss from the sensation, Anakin let your lips go with a pop, making his way further down your body. He placed open mouth kisses down the valley of your breasts, down your stomach and on your mound stopping just before your clit. Anakin couldn’t resist the urge to satiate the hunger of tasting you. He needed to eat you, like you were his last meal. A meal he can’t seem to ever live without.
Anakin who was already massive in height, it gave him an advantage as he dropped down to his knees. Looking down he made eye contact with your sopping pussy. He couldn’t believe how wet you were. How wet he made you, pride struck his chest and heart. “ I missed this, look at how wet you are. It’s all for me?” He talks to you as he looks up in your direction. Your heart skips a beat, his lust filled eyes already darker than usual, his eyes burning through you.
You nodded “ Y-Yes” his breath fanning over your dripping hole and clit, it was driving you mad. “Ani-please” you begged. With one hand you reached over, taking hold of his beautiful hair, your fingers threading through it. Anakin smiled at how needy you were, he liked that, he liked that you needed him right then and there. The teasing was unreal for you and too much, you waited too long and he was only stalling. He was making you pay for leaving him. Anakin turned his head to the side, kissing both of your inner thighs.
“ You’re so needy, bet you should've thought about that before you left me huh?” Anakin’s flesh hand took one of your breasts in his hand, his mechanical hand, grabbing one of your legs, throwing it over his shoulder. He gave you no room to protest, his mouth immediately latching onto your dripping pussy. He licked a long strip through your folds hitting your clit, your hips jerk at the suddenness. His attack in full motion, his makes out with your pussy, wet kisses, teeth and tongue could be felt. You moaned at the feeling, you tug on his hair, as his pace changes, he groans, vibrating through you.
“ Maker- you taste-fuck- you taste so good-“the feeling of you hit him like a ton of bricks, and for a moment his eyes rolled back and shut basking in the taste of you. His tongue finding a way into your hole causing you to moan loudly, your hand gripping his hair harder than before, your hips rocking with his movement. His tongue pumping in out, the wet muscles mixing with your fluid, a wet sound echoing in the room. Anakin pulled his tongue out your hole, running it back through your folds, his nose bumping into your clit. He opened his eyes as he watched your own roll back, your head lulled to the side, your mouth hanging slightly open, your breath erotic, your body reacting to him.
“ I-Im g-gonna cum” Your body began to shake, your breathing picking up, Anakin’s pace quickening in time with you. You could feel your stomach tightened. Anakin didn’t let up, instead he pushed your legs and spread them wider. As he coaxes you through your first orgasm another one quickly builds. This time he was rougher, biting and pulling at your folds, and clit, his flesh fingers finding their way into your hole, pumping creating a squelching sound. His metal hand pushed you down on the table as he stood up devouring you. His finger pumping in at a relentless pace hitting that one specific spot every time. The air, not catching up to your lungs. He doesn’t let up as your second orgasm crashes into you. Your hands pull harder at the strands of his hair, Anakin hisses biting the side of your outer lip. He pulls away standing completely straight up, his mouth, chin, nose covered in your mess. Takes the back of his hand wiping off his face. He smiles smugly at you, you roll your eyes at him fighting a smile of your own.
He helps you stand up off the desk, your feet touching the floor. “ You look like you ate the best meal of your life”
“ That’s because I did” He says, still smiling smugly at you, he threads his hand through your hair, as you drop down to your knees. You wanted to taste him on your tongue just as much as he wanted to taste you. You were eager and excited, your mouth watering, knowing how big he was. The weight of him on your tongue and in your mouth seemed too good to be true, but it was true and he stood in front of you. You hold your hand up to Anakin whose metal hand grabs your wrist, he leans down licking a slow long wet strip up to your fingertips. He lets go of your hand and you bring it back down towards his long veiny member, his tip pink and slick with precum, You swipe your thumb on his slit mixed with your spit , your hand pumps up and down your lips touching his tip and you press a light kiss. His hips jerked a few times. You let him guide you, your mouth opening as you take him in. You look up at him watching his head tilt back, his eyes closed, his mouth open, his chest glistening with sweat. His toned chest and stomach, thick with muscle, moving with each shallow breath he took.
He took control of your head movements, making you bob your head faster, you hummed happily, whatever you couldn’t fit in your mouth you continued with your hands. Your other hand comes up to hold his hips. Anakin was letting you take the reins, which normally he didn’t, he was feeling…particularly kind tonight. Loud sounds echoed in your room. Both of Anakin's hands grabbed all of your hair pulling into a ponytail. His hisses and moans turn you on further. His hold on your hair tightens, his hips moving with your mouth. You decided to give something new a try, breathing in through your nose, you relaxed your throat as you pushed more of him into your mouth-Anakin groans loudly, his head snapped down his eyes opening as he looked at you. You were too focused on him and his sounds to even register he was looking at you. You hadn’t gotten you far to be honest, before he pulled you off of him.
“ Hey-“
“ I can’t wait that long” He growls as he forces you to stand up grabs your legs instructing you to jump, you do as he says. You wrapped your arms around his neck and your legs around his waist. His cock rubbing against you, you whimper at the sensation. Anakin backs you both up so that your back touches the cold wall. You take one of your hands grabbing his cock you run it through your folds you, both shudder, you could feel your hole clench around nothing. Anakin pushed you up just a tad giving you room to sink down onto him, his tip entering you, both of you moaning at the feeling. You pushed down further till you bottomed out, both of you muttering a fuck. Anakin’s lips crashed on yours as his hips snapped into yours, hard slow strokes allowing you to adjust. You bit his lip before pulling away, his hips picking up the pace, going slightly faster hitting that sponge spot. His breathing heavy, his arms holding you. The squelching sound becomes louder and more in tense, his hips driving into you, slamming into your cervix. It was all driving you insane. Your moans were getting louder by the second. He pulled you off the wall pressing you impossibly closer to him. His lips captured yours, swallowing your beautiful sounds.
You gripped onto Anakin harder when he hit that exact spot. “ Ugh-Ani-damn-uuuuuh” your breath hitching in your throat your mouth hung slightly open.
“ Fuuuuccckk Y/N” Anakin moans as one hand cups the back of your neck the other wrapped around your waist crushing your body into his. His thrusts become sloppy as he carries you to your bed. He drops you onto the mattress pulling out of you, you whine at the loss of him. He centered himself between your legs, he picked up one of your legs placing it on his shoulder while the other rested on his hip. With one hand he grabs both your wrists pinning them to your chest. With his free hand he takes his cock, running it through your folds again before pushing back into you. You both moan, sharing that exact feeling. How good you both felt, how you both desired one another, how the need grew with every second.
As soon as his entered your weeping hole, he rammed his hips into you. Your body shook with each thrust, his one hand holding you down, his other coming up to your clit. Anakin could feel you getting closer, he could feel it through the force, he could feel you. He could only hear you. Your wrists struggled against his hold, you wanted nothing more than to bring him back to your lips, to hold him closer, Anakin being Anakin sensed that, somehow as concentrated, his scrunched eyebrows and closed eyes leaned down towards you, his nose brushing yours. Lips lingering onto your before engulfing then, tongue clashing, the quick nimble movements of his fingers, his gorgeous whiny groans, the way his hips moved, you were done for. You didn’t get to tell him you were close, instead your body shook violently, a loud pornographic moan left your lips, your body arched upward, white speckles dot your eyes, your head pushing back into the pillow.
Anakin thrived off of that feeling, he was close, but he needed just a few more thrusts. “ I’m close” Your body drops back down onto the mattress, your head lulling to the side. You hissed at how sensitive you are, you could feel him everywhere. You watched Anakin as a whimper left your lips, he continued pounding into you. He leans down touching his forehead against yours. His hand that held your wrists, dragged across your chest up towards your neck holding it. He barely put any pressure but by him holding it was just enough. Your hands clasp onto his forearm. The hand that rubbed at your clit reached for your leg pushing it back further. You moaned loudly, the feeling of him buried inside you, the sounds of your liquids flowing, your eroctic breathing, it drove him to his end. Anakin groaned loudly, his hips sputtering, his cum leaking into you. You both were covered in sweat and sex, with dumb smiles on your faces. Anakin kisses your cheek as he sits up pulling himself out of you.
Anakin for a moment watched as your mixed liquids leaked out of your hole, taking to two fingers he shoves it back in. “ Ani” you yelped, pushing his hand away.
“ What?”He asks as if he had done nothing wrong. You roll your eyes at him as he takes his two fingers and brings it to your mouth. You take them in, licking his fingers clean. Anakin gets up heading to your bathroom grabbing a towel and wetting it. He brings it back to you as he cleans you of the mess you both made. Once that was finished you held your arms out for Anakin, who gladly climbed back into them. Exhaustion swept through both of your bodies as Anakin floated the blanket over the both of you. Your eyes widened as you sat up quickly gripping the blanket to your chest.
“ Oh shit! I forgot about the droid!-” Anakin bursted into laughter as he watched the pure panic flashed across your face. You turned to glare at Anakin slapping his arm. “-Obi Wan is going to literally kill me” You get ready to move again when Anakin grabs a hold of you pulling you back towards him.
“He can wait”
“I was supposed to have this done tonight. Then you came in here and things happened but not that I don’t love that. I do, I love you but-“
Anakin sighs a smile gracing his lips “ I love you too, but let me help you.” Anakin sits up sliding off the bed pulling on his underwear and his trousers. He walks over picking up the droid and your data pad that laid on the ground. You smiled happily as you crawled off the bed throwing on your own bra and underwear, before you could even get to Anakin’s shirt, he floats it over to you. You threw it on quickly before taking the data pad out of his hands. Anakin fidgeted with the head, tinkering away at it. A few minutes had passed in the comfortable silence the two of you had created while working.
“ Y/N”
“ Hmm?”
“ Round 2?”
“ Anakin” You chuckled
“ 3 weeks is a long time for me”
“You’re never going to let that go are you?”
“ Nope” He put emphasis on the letter ‘P’
“ Fine but after we finish this and get the report back to Obi Wan” You shook your head typing away, a smile etched on your face.
“ So is that yes?” He asks you with a smile of his own before biting his lip.
“ Yes that is a yes” You walked over kissing his cheek before bending down to grab something else.
“ I don’t think I can wait” He growls lunging for you.
“ Anakin!-“
( image is taken from Wookiepedia; Rancor Battalion page )
Alright, these are three of the four known members of Rancor Battalion, stationed on Kamino. (As a battallion is a 1000 soldiers roughly, that means we've got several hundred implied to exist. These ones in particular are just the Commanders of the battalion )
Commander Havoc, is the far right in the Blue. Far Left? That's Commander Blitz
But the one in the middle is Commander Colt. You'll know him from Early TCWs, where he was the Commander who graded Domino Squad's performance on their graduation test of the Citadel, and as the poor bastard who got skewered and kissed by Asaaj Ventress.
Now the reason I'm bringing them up because they are CF99 related.
( CF99 "Clone Force 99". Unfortunately I cannae separate my views of the Bad Batch without immediately running into "The Bad Batch" TV Show... which I fucking hate. So this is a case of me just, trying [key word] to focus on the thing I love without having to deal with the published fanfiction about it [by too much], and maybe inspire some folks along the way as once again I scream "I FOUND A THING AGAIN" )
TCWshow is the origin show of the Bad Batch, and that's clear from the cut material of their season 6 arc. (Yes, it was meant to be season 6 in production order. What we got from released Season 6 were actually stuff made for Seasons 5 and Seasons 4 respectively )
That means, to find the backstory we need to move forward, we go through TCWs first.
Let's start.
Commander Colt, on the right, has a full one skull painted face and he primarily favors dark gray and deep red trim.
As we know, the jawless skull is a prime symbol of the Bad Batchers, and most of paint used by Colt are also used by CF99.
This suggests that Commander Colt was actually a prime, if not main, influence over the Bad Batcher's lives. Particularly, Hunter, who has clearly painted half a stylized skull on his helmet. While the CF99 skull is more stylized than Colt's--the Skull motif had to be inspired by something.
And since we're provided with no obvious alternative (and could probably fanfic plenty of alternatives instead)--the most clear connection here, in show, is with Commander Colt.
( This also helps the slow developed parallel between Domino Squad and CF99. Both are "bad batches", both were given a helping hand by Maintenance Clone 99, and were influenced by Commander Colt. Though its pretty obvious that Commander Colt had more hand with CF99 than Domino ever received. )
[ Side Tangent: This also means that the Bad Batch's association with Ventress is out of character and out of place. She murdered their favored Commander from cadethood, and assaulted him as he died via her kiss. ]
It should be noted that most of Rancor Battallion Commanders (nearly) all have gray faceplates, which makes the helmet appear to be or have a "skull".
This is Commander Havoc, wearing the Blue that was been adopted as 501st colors.
( Its pretty clear that Rancor Battalion does not, in fact, follow the paint cultures of deployed legions. They are either semi-following the now defuncted paint-rank system from "Attack of the Clones", or they have decided "Fuck it, we do what we want"... Either works, hell, both can work simultaneously )
The reason I bring Commander Havoc up, is that the CF99 ship is (was) known as the "Havoc Marauder". And it can be just as easily inferred that its not just the act of causing havoc and chaos, but that it was named in honor of Commander Havoc.
( This is, of course, mere speculation... But fuck it, its fun speculation.)
Commander Havoc's most significant story contributions, before being killed during the (third) Battle of Kamino, was defending 99; and that small contribution could've been enough to name a ship after him.
So y'know, more fun to be had.
ADDENDUM:
I know I did a whole a thing about Clone Names, and I'm still kinda confused but also find it really fun, about Commander Colt's name. Like, is he named after the horse? Are there horses in Star Wars? Is there an anime call a colt? Is the baby form of a rancor called a colt? Or is it the colt single action army revolver? I mean, star wars having combustible revolver weapons with projectiles and gunpowder wouldn't shock me... But Colt Revolvers are named after American Gun Manufacturer Samuel Colt. So uh, does--does this mean Mr. Colt was in Star Wars at some point? Is there a planet called Connecticut where he comes from. Maybe its the swedish origin of colt, which means "half grown animal" or "young boy". Is... Is Sweden in star wars. Is there a planet called Swedish. Its stuff like this, which both makes it both confusing and so fucking funny. Cos now we gotta ask some serious questions, that may or may not result in a parody. ( Name things what you want in your fantasy, so that it can absolutely result in confusing sets of questions like this. Simple Confusion is the best part. )
I just found a love in your almost cult yandere clone tropes and their cyares with the Jedi blessings. I mean damn you (later than ever). I'm imagining Cody and Rex and the bad batch. Or just Cody sharing with 😉 .
You made sprout the cult follower in me.
Here at Yandere-Wishes HQ, we try to inspire the inner cult follower in all our fans. We want the dark, deranged side of all our clients to shin through and someday even start cults of their own. 💜💜
I'm very sorry for how all over the place this is, tried to section it off as best I could. I'm still incredibly jet lagged😭😭
I think the reason behind the Jedi giving their blessing so freely to the clones comes from an inner yearning to be loved. The Jedi know their place in the universe, know that a sentiment-free life is what they must endure. Still, if those around them can be happy, then (in a selfless way befitting a Jedi) they can be happy too. Although I'm rather curious as to what would happen if say Anakin or Obi-wan fell for the cyare of their commanders.
Personally, I think Rex and Cody would definitely share a darling. Same with Echo and Fives (and maybe Tup too). Maybe if you REALLY want to lean into the cult aesthetic Anon, then what if each squadron has its own cyare?? A darling shared amongst all of them (That's a lot but I'm kinda only referring to the relevant troopers from each squadron 🤣🤣) it would be super cute if all her dresses were in said squadron's colors. Kinda like a personal cheerleader for them. Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself here lol.
🧡💙Being Cody and Rex's darling.
💙They're both very busy men. Constantly being deployed to the front lines. Always busy with some mission or another. They've tried to make sure at least one of them is with you, so you're never alone. It doesn't work, there are always long periods of time when you are trapped in isolation.
🧡I truly believe that Rex and Cody's cyare wouldn't really "feel" like a "cyare", per se. Sure she doesn't have any freedom and is never permitted to make any decisions on her own. But they treat her so well, give her anything she could ever want, and they never hurt her in any way.
💙Rex and Cody are both strict, not much leniency coming from either one. They have strict rules for they're cyare, under the pretext of keeping her safe. They've seen and experienced all the cruelties of the galaxy. And they don't want ANYTHING to ever hurt you.
🧡Cody is more affectionate. More open with embracing and kissing you. Rex is much more reserved, stiffer. Yet he can't help but melt whenever your lips push against his.
501st sharing (Rex, Fives,Echo, Tup, Jesse, Hardcase and Kix)
It's honestly exhausting belonging to all of them. Constantly being pulled in every direction. Sure the 501st is one of the gentler squadrons per se. But they are smoldering, constantly wanting to touch you in some way. It also doesn't help that regardless of the mission one of them is left behind to "watch" you. Not so much out of a fear of you running away but more out of concern for your well-being. I wonder what would happen if Anakin began to develop feelings for this particular cyare.
As for the bad batch I've yet to watch it (Although I've only heard good things) So I can't make a full observation just yet. Although I'd like to think that Hunter and Wrecker are on the "tougher" side, using force to make their cyare submit. Tech falls more into the stalker category. Take all this with a grain of salt, these ideas will 100% change once I've actually seen the show.
.... All this aside can you imagine Obi-Wan and Cody sharing a darling?? Or even Anakin and Rex sharing a darling?? I mean every cult needs its leader right 😉😘
WILDFLOWERS
REX X READER
You don’t know when you fell into the habit of bringing the Captain flowers, but now that you started you can’t seem to stop, not when he takes you in with such a soft look each time you do.
genre: fluff
word count: 1,300
a/n: This went a very different direction than I thought it was going to, but that’s okay! Rex deserves to be given flowers ♡
“Here, these are for you,” you say, shoving a small bundle towards Rex. Your hand shakes as you stretch it towards the man, and you hope the suddenness of your actions is enough to distract him from the uncontrollable movement.
He stares at you for just a moment, amber eyes blown wide in surprise, before he reaches for your outstretched hand. His calloused fingers brush against yours for a lingering moment before he allows them to settle there, your tremor persisting even as he holds you steady, but he doesn’t comment on it.
You forgot just how warm he is. The heat of his skin seeping into yours is more comfortable than should be possible and makes it difficult for you to focus on why you came to see him in the first place. Rex uncurls your fingers with a gentleness that, if you didn’t already know just how careful he could be with delicate things, might have been unexpected from a man of his position.
Rex holds the bundle close to get a better look at what you brought him, a small smile pulling at the corners of his lips, eyes shining with a new warmth. You’re not sure if he realizes how easily his features slip into something so soft—the way everything he feels shows plainly on his face. It’s no wonder why he is a terrible liar.
Your stomach flips, and for just a moment you think the Resolute has fallen out of hyperspace. You wait for the blaring sound of alarms warning all onboard the starship of imminent danger, but it never comes. The ground stays stable beneath you.
Rex’s gaze returns to your own, the gentle light still shining in them as he takes you in.
“Thank you,” he murmurs, “They’re lovely.”
The interaction shouldn’t feel as embarrassing as it does. This isn’t the first time you brought the Captain of the 501st flowers, but somehow, every time, the exchange leaves your heart pounding. Maybe it’s the fact that you continue to seek out that gentle look the only way you know how that leaves you feeling so awkward. Gifting flowers is such a simple thing, and yet it feels almost too meaningful, too obvious.
You don’t know when you fell into the habit of bringing the Captain flowers, but now that you started you can’t seem to stop, not when he takes you in with such a soft look each time you do.
“Really? They’re not as pretty as some of the others,” you admit. You wring your hands together now that you’re no longer holding anything that you could use to keep yourself distracted.
The flowers aren’t very extravagant. They’re a pretty shade of blue, their tiny faces poking out between long, thin purple leaves. They’re wildflowers from the planet you just left, the little things sprouting up from hard earth around the bases of gnarled and twisted trees. The flowers you bring the trooper are always wildflowers. There hadn’t been much time to pick them while you were planetside, the evidence of your crunch for time visible along the bottom of each stem where you broke them from the rest of the plant, but you couldn’t help yourself. They were the perfect Five Oh One blue, and they reminded you of Rex.
Flowers always remind you of Rex.
“The color is nice,” the Captain offers, his words helping to soothe your nerves. They may not be as beautiful as some of the others, but he still likes them. Your hands still slightly, no longer needing to worry so much. Rex has never given you a real reason to worry, but still you do. You want him to like the flowers.
You want him to like you.
Rex steps back from the doorway and into his room. It’s small, the space barely large enough to fit his bed, a few shelves, and a desk; all of which is bolted to the walls, immovable in the face of hyperspace jumps and battle. Still, the space is his alone, which is more than most of the troopers can say for their sleeping arrangements.
You step into the spot Rex occupied moments before, not wanting to encroach on his space, but not yet ready to walk away. You watch from the doorway as he steps into the small refresher, carrying a metal cup that he “accidentally” took from the mess hall.
He returns moments later, the flowers placed inside the cup like they always are. He sets them on his desk, the only color in the room besides the fading blue paint on his armor.
They look out of place in the best sort of way. If he didn’t seem to genuinely like the flowers you wouldn’t keep bringing them to him, but even he smiles at the little plants as he sets them down.
Rex steps back towards you, warm eyes giving away a growing curiosity, his thoughts spinning with a question that won't go unasked for long.
“Why do you bring me flowers?” he gives voice to his confusion, not for the first time. He keeps his gaze on you, unyielding. Your hands find each other again, as if pulled together by some magnetic force, a clear and unfortunate sign of your anxious nature.
You take a moment to respond, trying desperately to find some sort of answer that you can give him that won’t also give away too much. Finally you settle on: “I don’t know?”
You speak slowly, as if even that weak response is too telling.
The first time he asked you that same question, you told him it was to liven up the place.
“I know the ship's quarters can be pretty bland,” you explained. Kamino, the Resolute, and the barracks on Coruscant are all blank, sterile, void of life despite the people who eat and sleep there. Everything had a purpose. A handful of wildflowers couldn’t do much to change that, but it was still something. The flowers meant more to Rex than you expected they would.
Really, that particular little bundle of yellow, pink, and white flowers had been plucked and given to the Captain as if on instinct, just as the bright orange flowers you gave him the time before had been.
Rex is always dependable and unwavering, constant despite the horrors he faces regularly. He is the exact opposite of you, with your fraying nerves that seem to get in the way of every aspect of your life except your job.
Now that you’ve gotten to know him better, to become friends with him, find some sort of stability in the midst of the storm that always seems to rage inside you, giving him flowers means so much more. It’s the only way you can think of to show him how much you care when your hands and your voice continue to fail you.
Rex gives you a pointed look, and you try your best to revise your answer. It takes you even longer this time to respond, but he waits patiently for you to find the words. And maybe that’s just it—Rex is strong and steady, he pushes but never blindsides. The Captain is genuine, and it draws you in more than you ever anticipated.
You’re too old for a crush to affect you so much.
“They make you happy,” you settle on. Quieter, you add, “I really like seeing you happy.”
He smiles again, wider this time. His teeth flash but the look he gives you is still soft. It’s as if he can hear the words you aren’t saying, the ones that would inform him of just how much he really means to you.
Just one look is enough to send your heart racing again.
He reaches out and takes your hands in his, forcing you to stop your nervous habit. His hands are warm again, how quickly you’ve forgotten.
“I like seeing you happy too.”
a/n: Not everyone can be super confident around their crushes. Some of us are walking disasters instead!
Date Night Pt 1
Pairing: Rex x f!Reader
Rating: SFW
Warnings: Just fluff, snogging is as far as it goes.
W/C: 3,300 (And my ficlet phase has passed).
Summary: Captain Rex of the 501st Legion led men into numerous battles. He had fought by the side of one of the galaxy’s greatest Jedi and received commendation from the Republic’s top leadership. And nothing terrified him more than the newest challenge Anakin Skywalker laid at his feet ... a date.
A/N: This was inspired by D's lovely ask as I was trapped in the airport about a double date with Rex and Cody. Here's the Rex chapter, featuring Cody, who will be up next.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Rex, you know I’d do anything for you. But this?”
Rex knew this would likely be the outcome, but he wasn’t admitting defeat just yet.
“Please Cody? I just … I have to go, but I just can’t get myself to go alone.”
His closest brother and commanding officer sat across from him in the mess hall of the Coruscant barracks, the 501st and 212th being on shore leave. All units not engaged in relief missions or suppressing the remaining Seppie forces were actually on leave, meaning Rex felt himself almost whispering, not wanting the wrong ears to overhear their conversation in the crowded room.
He’d never live it down if Torrent Company especially got wind that he was considering a trip to the matchmaker set up specifically for clones.
“You don’t have to go, though. It’s not mandatory. I know the transition to peace time is going to be tough, but they’re not forcing us into civvie life just yet.”
“It’s not that. General Skywalker is … insisting.”
“He can’t command you to go on a date. Just tell him no.”
“I can’t, Cody! You know the face he makes when you tell him no.”
“Then look the other way.”
Rex doesn’t have a rebuttal. Strictly speaking, Cody is right. But …
“Unless you actually want to go?” his brother nudges.
“I …” Rex paused, holding still as a statue for a moment until he released his breath in a huff. “Ever since his relationship with the Senator came out, Skywalker has changed. He’s lighter, happier. And I can’t help but wonder what that feels like. It was never in the cards for us before. I know some had it, like Cut, but I could never abandon my duty. Now that I don’t have to … I don’t know. What if Anakin is right?”
Cody smiles at him warmly before answering simply, “Then you should go.”
Rex levels his friend with a blank stare. They both knew that Rex would never take this leap without a wingman.
“FINE I WILL GO WITH YOU.”
------------------------------------------X------------------------------------------
The office was nicer than he had imagined. Not that he thought it would be a dump, but it would seem his anxiety colored his expectations.
Cody sat by his side, the pair having already filled out the required paperwork digitally. He thanked his brother again for coming with him and though the only response was a dry side eye, Rex knew Cody understood what this meant to him.
The door behind them opened, and both men jumped to attention.
“At ease, gentlemen. You’re off duty, remember?”
A woman walked past to take a seat opposite the desk from them as they settled back into their own seats. Her casual attire betrayed the slightly impressive decor of the top-level office, but the warmth she exuded made it clear she belonged here.
“I’m Yen, and I’ll be the matchmaker assigned to you both,” she said, reaching across to shake both their hands. “Now, I’ve reviewed your applications and I have a few potential matches in mind, but first I want to hear from you, your expectations — both of this first date and overall.”
Rex turned to look to Cody, defaulting to letting his CO answer first, only to see his brother returning the expectant look. So, he started, laying it all on the table and earning a few laughs from the other trooper.
Cody followed suit, his own answer much shorter, though it’s a testament to the professional that she was able to even get as much out of the Marshal Commander as possible.
“Okay, well, I believe I now have everything I need. I’ll send over one profile each to avoid overwhelming you both, and if you’re amenable, I’ll set up the time and place and comm that over,” Yen confirmed.
Rex appreciated her approach, calm yet confident. He was still hesitant about stepping this far out of his comfort zone, but if she was leading the way, he could at least follow.
“Now, I do have to warn you that while I understand the appeal of a double date, I’ve found it can often lead to … unnecessary problems. I can see if the partners I have in mind would be open to going to the same venue, but I strongly recommend focusing on your date and not spending time as a group.”
“Problems?” This time, it was Cody who spoke up.
“Yes, assigned dates wanting to switch has been known to happen, which just creates bad feelings all around. Or people tend to focus more on their friend since that’s familiar and end up alienating their dates. I’ve found that outcome more common with troopers.”
The two clones share a look, and when Rex turns back to Yen, a knowing smile graces her face.
“Well, this is your area of expertise. We’ll play this your way.”
---------------------------------------X--------------------------------------------
A week later, Rex watched Cody walk to the floor with his date, trying to push down his annoyance over the fact that you still hadn’t appeared.
If he was being completely fair, you weren’t late. But he was already second guessing himself and each moment he stood there, on the edge of the room unsure of what to do with his hands, was another moment adding to his anxiety.
Rex was just about at his limit when the door slammed open. The woman in the threshold peered into the crowd, scouting as if she expected danger rather than dancing to greet her.
And suddenly, his nerves got better and worse.
It was you. He recognized you from the profile image Yen had sent him. You hadn’t stood him up and left him looking a fool. But he had a feeling he’d act like one because stars above he had never seen any creature quite as lovely. What the kark was he supposed to say to someone so pretty?
While Skywalker seemed to revel in going into situations blind, Rex usually did everything to avoid it. But he didn’t plan for this. Your holo was taken by a buffoon since clearly it did not do you justice.
Absently, Rex realized he should probably introduce himself. But he decided taking advantage of this opportunity to gather intel was the smarter option.
You weren’t timid so much as cautious in your movements as you slowly made your way through the room, clearly looking for someone but oddly insistent on not making eye contact, quickly looking away once people noticed your staring.
Finally, you turned and caught his eye across the room, looking away just as quickly. In only took a moment before you snuck another glance, but this time, you kept eye contact and tilted your head in question. Nothing could stop him from smiling softly at the gesture as he gave a quick, efficient nod. You sported a matching one as you made your way through the crowd to him.
“Are you Rex?”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
You giggled, and it was so sweet he almost missed what you said. “Do I look that old?”
Shock flooded Rex like ice water. “Huh? N-No, you don’t. I mean, not that that’s bad. But you definitely don’t. You look lovely. Not that old isn’t lovely, but I, uh,” he floundered, trying to understand what just happened.
Your eyes grew wide as plates as you raised your hands, waiving them in front of you frantically. “Ah, no, don’t worry about it! I was just teasing since you said ‘ma’am’ and I’ve never been called that before and in fact the only people who’ve been called ma’am, at least that I’ve heard, have been older, so that was the first thing that came to mind and …”
Rex had never heard anyone speak that fast. He was impressed you had enough breath for it, but your rambling made your abrupt stop into pure silence jarring.
“Sorry, I was trying to be clever but I’m a bit too nervous for that, it seems.” You looked up at him but stopped just shy of actually catching his gaze. He wasn’t sure if that or the way you bit the corner of your lip as you offered a sheepish smile was more endearing.
“Please don’t apologize. I’m a bit out of my depth here, too.”
Rex had never and likely would never understand the Force as the Jedi talk about it. But as you shared a small, understanding smile with him, he swore he could feel something shift. It was significant, even if he couldn’t understand why.
“Well then, since neither of us seem to be doing too well with conversation, want to try dancing?”
“I doubt that’ll go better on my end, but let’s give it a try,” he says lightly, holding out a hand to allow you to pass.
You led the way to the dance floor, and his heart stuttered when you turned, looking up at him expectantly with bright eyes. He was only half listening to the instructor, just enough to get the gist of what to do. The rest of his attention was firmly occupied with getting lost in how you looked at him.
You looked at him like he was someone worth staring at.
Karabast, I’m in trouble.
“Ready?” You ask, sweet but pushy, nudging him out of his stupor.
“Uh, yeah,” Rex nods, stepping closer and taking hold of your hands. They were cold in his, so he held them just a bit tighter.
Fortunately, the class was geared for beginners, so the instructor started with basic footwork which solved one problem of his – he could focus on his feet instead of trying not to stare at you like a creep.
At least, for a bit. Damn his enhanced training; the steps were barely a challenge, leaving him looking down unnecessarily, unwilling to look up just yet but also aware that the longer he looked down the more awkward it was.
Why was dancing at 79s hard but this was too easy? Maybe it was his brothers’ fault. Yeah, that had to be it. They complicated everything else, why would dancing be different?
“I’m glad they’re really breaking down the basics. I usually have two left feet,” you offered, and it felt like relief in the midst of battle washing over him.
“Same. I’m not usually much of a dancer,” Rex replied, beyond grateful that he wouldn’t have to rely on one of the awful pickup lines Jesse had insisted on teaching him when word inevitably got around what he would be up to tonight.
“Oh? Then what made you choose dance lessons for tonight?”
“I, uh …” He hesitated. The truth was it was an option that Cody was open to and both Boil and Fives insisted it was the best idea. “Honestly, my brothers talked me into it. Said it would strike the right mood.”
“The right mood?”
“N-not like that! Well, actually, I’m sure Fives meant exactly that. But that’s not what I mean. I mean —”
“It’s OK, Rex.” He should be more upset that you’re laughing at him, but there’s no malice in your eyes as they smile along with your lips. “I know what you mean. It’s fun, but easy enough that we can talk.”
“Not sure I’m doing so well with that second part,” he grumbled.
“I’ve got no complaints,” you reassure with a soft squeeze to his hands. “Besides, I’m very much enjoying being on this side.”
“This side?”
“Oh yeah. I’m usually the one tripping over my tongue meeting new people. It’s not just my feet — I’m clumsy all over,” you proclaim almost proudly, earning a chuckle from him.
“You don’t seem clumsy to me.”
“You’re sweet, but I’m literally holding onto you right now. Hard to be clumsy with support, though I do like to consider myself an overachiever.”
Rex let out what was probably his first genuine laugh since starting this whole endeavor. “Well, I’m happy to act as support as long as needed.”
Your lips twitch to the side, and if not for the mischievous spark in your eyes — a sight Rex had learned from his men usually meant nothing but trouble — he’d assume you were upset. Confused, he waited for you to continue.
“Happy to act as support? Are you sure?”
Everything about your tone is screaming that he’s out of his depths. You’re plotting something, that much is clear, and he’s not sure what. And he certainly can’t reprimand you the way he does wayward troopers.
Still, nothing to do but jump in at this point.
“Yes …?”
Your smile broke free from the tight, wry curve of your lips to engulf your entire face.
“In that case …” You stepped closer to him, pulling your joined hands behind your back, forcing yourself into his arms. Chills slid up his arms along with your touch as your hands finally settled on his shoulders, leaving his splayed out against the expanse of your back. “Better that we dance like this. More secure, you know.”
The boys would often tease Rex for how easily he would flush. It was something he cursed his whole life, always envious of Cody for his incredible composure. Now, however, despite feeling the heat in his own cheeks, the sight of your eyes refusing to settle on one place, least of all him, and the awkward shift in your stance, he understood the teasing.
You were adorable when flustered.
But more than he enjoyed seeing you worked up, he desperately wanted you to be comfortable with him. And he wanted to show his appreciation that you took the first leap of faith. So he stepped just a little further into your space, slightly tightening his hold on you so you could feel him support you.
“Sure. Just tell me if you want me to let go.”
“I don’t think that’s gonna happen.”
It wouldn’t be right to say conversation flowed. There were still awkward bumps and turns. But you were gracious about them, and honestly guilty of a few yourself, which helped Rex lower his guard even more.
It didn’t hurt that you seemed to pick up the footwork just as easily as he did, letting him lead you around the floor easier than he anticipated so he could fully indulge in how you pressed ever so lightly against him as you lead the conversation.
It was mostly small talk, getting to know you staples. But you never made him feel awkward or like you didn’t care for his answer.
In fact, he had never felt so tall before being the center of your attention.
Sooner than he realized, the class ended, and the dancers began dispersing. A quick scan of the room made clear that Cody and his date already cleared out. When, he wasn’t sure. But it left Rex standing in the middle of the floor with you in his arms, looking at him expectantly … and he had no clue what to do.
All he knew was he wasn’t quite ready to let you go.
“Do you walk home?” he asked, immediately realizing what he had said and groaning. “No, not that. I mean, do you mind if I walk you home?”
You laughed at him, but again, it was a soft thing without a trace of mockery. “I’d love that, thank you.”
If asked right then, Rex would say that laugh was his favorite sound. But he didn’t let that thought linger too long.
You looped your arm through his and laid your opposite hand on top, taking him aback with how comfortable you seemed around him even without the pretense of dancing. Though you stopped right at the line of too forward, a courtesy he was grateful for.
And it appeared a more strategic choice than he first gave you credit for. With your arms woven through his, you were able to lead the way and keep pace with him easier. You walked to the inter-level lift and rode it down a few levels to more modest apartments before meandering through the streets for a few blocks, chatting softly the whole time.
“This is me.” You waved your hand absently to the building behind you as you turned to face him. You were looking at him like that again, like he was the only thing in this galaxy worth looking at. If he wasn’t careful, Rex could easily grow addicted to that look. “I had a really nice night. Thank you, Rex.”
“No thanks needed, mesh’la,” Rex said softly, hearing the endearment slip in before he really registered it. It fit, though, and he was willing to bet you didn’t speak Mando’a. “I had a good time, too.”
He felt like time itself was suspended. Like the two of you existed within a ray shield and nothing outside mattered. He felt himself pulled closer to you until he was standing with barely an inch between you. Glancing past your eyes for just a moment, he felt his breath catch at the sight of your chest just missing brushing his as you take heavy breaths.
Usually, clarity felt cold when it washed over him. This, however, was warm, fueling his courage just as much as the realization that you could feel the gravitational pull between you as well.
“Can I kiss you?” he whispered, bolder than he felt as he leaned down but still not trusting his voice as he invaded your space and reveled in the proximity, eyes constantly searching for any sign of hesitation.
There never was one. You tilted your head back, bringing your plush lips almost up to his.
“Please.”
It was the sweet, needy, breathlessness of your plea that made Rex vow then and there to do anything to hear you beg for his kisses again.
It was the soft give of your lips, the insistent yet gentle pressure you applied and the succulent yet swift swipe of your tongue against his that made him vow to give them to you as often as you asked.
Gods above, there was nothing so wonderful in that moment as your kiss. It wasn’t hot and heavy, as his past experiences had been; those one-night stands nothing more than moments of stolen pleasure speaking only to present need.
This was the opposite, chaste in all but promise, speaking without words of your passionate intentions.
You pulled away, and he should have let you go. Rex had always prided himself on being respectful, doing the right thing. And yet, the only thing that felt right was to chase your lips with his, looping his arm around your waist to pull you in closer.
Reason eventually won out, as it always did for him. Keeping his hold on you, Rex pulled back and rested his forehead against yours. “Sorry.” His breathing was heavier than expected, and he questioned if his conditioning was really lacking, or if your kisses would always steal his breath. “Got a little carried away.”
You shook your head against his, and only then did he realize you had tangled your hands in his jacket, fisting in the fabric tightly. He couldn’t pull away without applying some force, and that knowledge buzzed pleasantly through him.
“No you didn’t. Not that I didn’t want, anyway.”
A worry line appeared on your forehead as you turned to glance at your front door over your shoulder. Your lips pursed, and while he wouldn’t claim to know you well, he could hazard a guess to your conundrum.
Gently, Rex lifted a hand to turn your face back to him before pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. He wasn’t sure, but he could swear he heard you sigh.
“Goodnight, mesh’la,” he offered, and to his relief, he saw you relax. You stepped back, out of his arms, and he was surprised by how much he didn’t like that. “I’ll comm you tomorrow?”
Tomorrow couldn’t come soon enough if that’s how you would smile for him every time. “Yeah, I’d like that. Goodnight, Rex.”
Captain Rex of the 501st Legion led men into numerous battles. He had fought by the side of one of the galaxy’s greatest Jedi and received commendation from the Republic’s top leadership.
But no victory had ever felt as good as walking away from your apartment that night, one successful date under his belt and hopefully many more with you on the horizon.
@sonic-fairyspell THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! and NEVER apologize for rambling, I love rambles and listening to people’s theories on stuff- (it’s actually very motivating lol) -plus i’m about to ramble your head off, so it’d be kinda hypocritical to not want you to ramble 😂
To answer your question:
Yes! It's the emblem of the Jedi Order!
Most of the clones wear the normal emblem, but the Coruscant Guard wears the emblem of the Temple Guard—since both guards share a mutual dislike of the Blue Guard- (the natborn Corrie Guard, basically) -because of how the Blue Guard treats them. This leads to them working together, growing close, and becoming friends!
Whether it's the regular or the Temple Guard emblem, though, both symbols are painted on for the same reason.
In the middle of The Great War- (which, yes, i'm still working on, don't worry) -the clones have been exposed to some pretty harsh anti-Jedi sentiment. It pisses them off, but there's really nothing they can do, and they at least have the comfort of knowing that the Jedi aren't treated like objects, right?
That is, until the Corrie Guard overhears some senators complaining about the Jedi "not doing enough" on the war front- (nevermind the fact that they were doing everything they could with limited numbers) -which isn't really something new…
...until they hear them refer to the Jedi as "a Republic resource" and talk about them like they served no purpose except to obey their whims.
(and boy, didn't the clones find that familiar)
This news spreads quickly throughout the GAR and boy are they pissed. Even more so, knowing that they can't really do anything about it.
So they decide to do the only thing they can, show the Jedi that they're not alone.
They paint the Order's emblem on one of their shoulder pauldrons each, always adding their own unique spin but also making certain that it's still clear what it is.
The Jedi are touched, and they return the favor.
They paint their vambraces- (the only armor any of them ever wear, much to everyone's mutual chagrin) - in their battalion's colors, showing that they aren't alone either.
…
Rex is the first to paint his shoulder pauldron in the 501st-with clean, precise, lines, in their signature blue.
He shows it to Ahsoka, and she almost cries.
He shows it to Anakin, and Anakin is...curious.
Rex says that all of his brothers are doing it, and Anakin asks why—genuinely curious, since they place so much value on their armor being unique.
Rex tells him that it's to show that they're loyal to the Jedi, not the Senate—because the Jedi have fought and died with them, while the Senate has never given a shit about them.
This is when Anakin stops being curious, and starts getting angry—because Padme and Palpatine are part of the Senate, and he views this as disrespectful to them.
He and Rex argue until Rex realizes that Anakin will always put his pride, put his attachments, over them—that he'd personally wipe out half the battalion if it meant Padme wouldn't get hurt, no matter that they were people too.
So Rex stops arguing.
He doesn't take off the paint, though.
But word passes through the battalion what Anakin thinks about all of this, and no one else wants to chance it.
So technically Anakin doesn't force them not to do it, but he definitely makes it clear what he thinks—and no one wants to piss off the guy with severe anger issues who's in charge of your every move in a dangerous situation.
“Random Clone Headcannons p.1”
These I made instead of working on my WIP for some reason but I have no regrets!
My ideas here are all over the place but please enjoy!
If you see any you like and such I’m planning to turn a few of these into full length writings so let me know!
Clones x reader pairing! (Platonic!)
• You cant tell me that if You had longer hair that so many Vodes would keep hair ties on their wrists for you
• Wolffe is the reason you have a deadly eye roll and amazing smart comments
• I feel like if you gained his. Trust you and Crosshair would be deadly on the battlefield- like he’d do the thing where he’d steady his riffle on your shoulder
• Jesse and Hardcase would beg you to show them some moves with your lightsaber, and honestly they aren’t terrible
• Braiding Tup and/or Hunters hair for fun. That’s it just think about it.
• You absolutely begged Rex if you could help to bleach his hair- finally giving in and needing a touch up he agrees to let you help. You don’t know how it’s happened but bleach is literally everywhere
• You and a few others were so excited to help the Wolfpack paint the “Plo’s Bro’s” and were so proud to stand next to Wolffe as you showed Master Plo for the first time
• Lake days with the 501st- just imagine. This I think will be my next WIP
• To say that you weren’t the best wingman for your brothers was an understatement you were amazing- Hardcase wouldn’t be anywhere without you. Playing match maker is so fun for the Clones and seeing them embarrassed is even better
• Rex can sleep anywhere. You’ve found him in so many different places just slumped. It’s become a tradition now that if you see him you’ll curl up by his side and get some rest and vice-versa (cause if Rex falls asleep you know you should be too)
• In your defense how could you not take those loth kittens back to Coruscant with you? Fox was a wonderful babysitter as you figured out where they could go
• You introduced wrecker to markers and now you take turns coloring small doodles on each others arms. Wreckers gotten pretty good over the last few times, and it’s alway fun to see the huge clone in training with a sleeve of colorful doodles
• You, Boil, and Sinker have always talked about taking you to get your first tattoo and you couldn’t agree more- Wolffe has to be the mom and shut it down pretty fast but one day soon it will happen
• Tech will teach you all these strategies to different games knowing at when you keep practicing he’ll have some good competition
• He has regretted this decision ever since you beat him once and his brothers and yourself hang it over his head all the time
• Delta Squad loves having joint mission with you and your battalion- Scorch can count on something interesting going down and Boss gets more gray hairs by the second in all the situations he has to get his squad out of
• So so so many nicknames it’s insane. They vary from who it is with Cody and Wolffes battalion keeps it sweet and simple with kid, vod’ika and Cyare where as groups like the 501st, Delta Squad and the Corries have unusual and creative names like Scrappy, shorty, and others
• Cold nights and everyone’s having a huge sleepover in the barracks- sneaking in and never sleeping more soundly then you have before
Hmm guess I could go back to my WIP but if you want a Part. 2 I’d be happy to make one!
I don’t know if anyone else has talked about this but I’m watching the Hidden Enemy and I noticed that R2D2 and Rex (and the rest of the 501st) have the same colors. Did the 501st choose their color blue because of R2D2? Could R2D2 be their mascot? Could this represent Anakin’s light side. His lightsaber color, his droid, his men. He meets R2 around the same time he joins the order. When Anakin goes to the Temple to kill the Jedi, the 501st are with him in their blue. I’ve seen theory videos where he hasn’t hit the point of no return yet. There is still blue. After, there is no more blue and R2.
(Also what if the 501st and 212th represent R2D2 and C3PO. 501st is blue and chaos. C3PO is gold and order)
