THE library was unsurprisingly almost empty considering the fact that no sane person would want to step outside in this rainstorm, so you were content in studying organic chemistry in the very back, alone with your thoughts, your textbooks, folklore by Taylor Swift, and now a guy. Who decided that he will break the silence in the almost empty library.
You were in your world, as always, not really connecting or associating with things around you but the ruckus of the someone knocking over an umbrella stand and profusely apologizing to apparently no one made you lift your head up. You smile slightly before going back to your work, barely registering your surroundings.
Sure, Jack was entirely focused on his friends, studies, and hockey back in high school, but he was an expert at faces and names and could jot down absolutely anyone that he knows he’s seen before. He knew exactly who the girl with dark circles and way-too-oversized hoodie in the back was.
At least five minutes later, Jack started hovering near your spot, which was the romance aisle. You sneak a glance at him and take note of his athletic shorts and New York Giants hoodie and quickly denote that this man was definitely not the romance novel type (or maybe book type at all). After flipping mindlessly through another book he lets out a soft “fuck it” before turning to face you completely.
You can’t help but crack a smile at his jump when he saw that you had already been staring at him with wide, voidfull eyes.
A pause. You staring at him. Him staring at you. He cracks a dopey smile, blinding you with his paper white teeth, and pulls up a chair in front of you.
“What’s up, Dee?” He asks holding his hand up for a dap. Bewildered at how this complete stranger knows your nickname amongst close friends (from when you gracefully told people that ‘the bags under your eyes are Dior’), you dap him back anyway and blurt, “I have never seen you before.”
“You went to my high school. We worked in a project in like, AP World I think? I dunno. But I remember you saved my grade that whole year.”
Your mind remains blank. You saved a lot of people’s grades.
“My only high school memories are countless APs, pain, suffering, studying and depression.”
Most people would blanch at your dreamy straightforwardness, but Jack just grinned again.
“Yeah, I remember you were always tired but also really funny. And tired. Deja Vu, man, watching you sit here, laser focused on your books. I was on the hockey team, if that helps.”
I furrow my brows, thinking hard.
“I do remember that our hockey guys were really good. They would announce their names like every day on the speakers because they won all the time.”
Jack groans at the memory. He was well known but it was just uncomfortable having your last names called out where the whole school could hear.
You laugh at his reaction. “They would call the same names over and over. I don’t know if it was you who used to hide your face every time they did it but yeah.”
Jack perked up. “Yeah that was me.”
You take a moment to admire his boyish facial features and athletic build. He’s pretty.
‘Don’t even think about it’ pretty.
“Dang. You were like a superstar. Sorry I don’t remember much. I’m like, walking jet lag.”
He laughs a typical frat boy laugh (if that makes sense) and you like it. You want to hear it again.
“So, what are you doing out here? Never pegged you for a big city girl.”
“I go to college here.”
“Damn, we should’ve met sooner. My name is Jack, by the way.”
“My friends call me Dee, but I guess you knew that.”
You were left pondering as to why a hockey player from high school was even anticipating meeting you; people only approached you for notes and the occasional party invitation back then.
“So, uh- what about you? Make it big in the league thingy yet?”
He breaths a laugh. “You could say that.”
“Who do you play for?”
“New Jersey.”
“Prudential, isn’t it? That’s close by my apartment.” I say in thought.
Jack grins. “Really? We might bump into each other often, then.”
He looks genuinely excited.
Why.
What’s going on.
You chat for a few more minutes but it’s mostly you saying out of pocket things and Jack laughing instead of side-eyeing you and walking away. You were surprised at his effortless kindness.
“Phone.”
“Hm?”
“Or Snap? Whatever you feel like is best,” he says, pulling out his phone. It takes a second to register that he’s implying that you exchange contact information.
“Don’t really use Snapchat. I kinda have too much on my plate right now.” You hand over your phone.
“You always overwork yourself, you should be at the club. You’ll die on the inside.”
“Nothing I can’t handle, I hope.”
You just need to push through and never ever have fun.
He checks the time and sighs.
“I was just here to return a book but I gotta head back. Flight for a roadie takes off in a couple hours. I’ll be back in, like, four days? I hope to see you around then?”
You match his soft smile and nod, whatever roadie means but okay. It was actually nice, wasting some valuable study time for a potential friend. He’s cool.
“Yeah. See you.” You offer and huff a laugh as he reaches out to dap you up again.
That night, after yet another long and winding day with the only highlight being meeting someone who was apparently a high school acquaintance, you decide to look him up. Surprised at the absolute famethat this man had loaded, your lips parting at every detail, you click on his instagram and officially unhinge your jaw.
You’re never on insta but that can’t be good.
The shock of how you basically were bonding with someone who definitely downplayed how famous he was didn’t wear off a week later; he texted you quite often and you tried to text back without seeming dry.
It was nearly a week later when he offered to meet up again.
-> two questions
babies come from the baby store.
-> wtf
sorry. ask away !
-> 1. are you at the library rn
do you still like the caramel frappe from dunkin
yes. and yes. what the hell are you doing.
-> something nice. see u soon angel.
angel is wild when I look like I snuck on this earth but thanks for that anyways. you’re very kind :))
-> kind enough to tell you to that you’re really pretty :))
*reacted with heart emoji*
You check your forehead temperature to make sure you hadn’t just imagined the whole conversation.
It wasn’t long before Jack was strutting into the library with two dunkin’ shakes in his hands accompanied by his gorgeous smile when he spotted you in the back, once again.
“You’re wearing glasses today.” He says when you look up at his outstretched hand. You reach forward with a grateful smile, and deja vu hits you hard. The same exact scene playing out in high school when he had asked everyone in some group project their favorite drinks and treated them when they all got an A.
“I remember you,” you say as he flopped on the bean bag next to you with his own drink.
“Yeah? I knew you would. You’re too smart.” He says, again dazzling you with his perfect smile as he lifts two fingers to tap your temple softly to emphasize his point. It’s a challenge to tear your eyes away from his baby blues.
“Your eyes are so blue. It’s distracting.”
Jack’s eyes widen at your unintentional rebuttal at his subtle flirting, and he smirks. He knew that you weren’t aware that you were being flirted with the past week; what you lacked in emotional and social intelligence was shadowed by your sharpness in academics.
“Hey, you didn’t tell me you were a really big deal around here? Everyone knows you and you have like a million followers.”
“Stalking me?”
“Educating myself.”
Jack laughs and throws as arm around you to peer over your shoulder.
“Well, I don’t just go around telling people how good I am. So, whatcha doing?”
The contact makes you freeze up and once again the surreality of a man wanting to spend time with you disorients you a little bit.
“Watching porn.”
Jack laughs again and earns a stern look from the clerk down the aisle.
“I’m studying anatomy.”
“Yeah, didn’t suspect any less than med school for your smartass.”
You turn to him to talk back but his face was inches away from you and that sets off alarm bells throughout your body. You’ve had your fair share of guys and girls but there was not a single string attached and the short flings were easy to forget.
But having someone that pretty, that close to you, not showing exactly what intentions he had? That caused your anxiety to spike. Positively.
“Your face is really close.” You simply state, pushing your large frames higher up your nose.
“And yours is really red.”
You immediately press your hands against your cheeks and groan at what you picture your face looks like. Jack just giggles again and pulls your hands away.
“It’s cute.”
His hands are still on your wrists.
“It really isn’t, but thank you. You’re very kind.”
There’s a beat of silence where you can see the gears in his head turning.
“Do you like aquariums?”
You surprise yourself and Jack when you pull him into a hug as a greeting outside the aquarium.
The feel of your chests touching with little fabric in between set Jack’s heart off racing and the way your curves dipped at your hips had him pulling at his collar.
But most of all, when he pulled back from the hug, he noticed you were wearing shorts that had your legs all out for him to ogle over.
“You hidin’ all that?” He scans your figure, noting the dark, low cut, full sleeve top.
“What? All this?” You say as you push your tits together. “There’s not much to hide.”
Jack’s throat runs dry. Unfortunately for him, he’s still a guy and tits still make him drool. And the fact that you had no idea you were keeping him on his toes
“Be for real.” He rolls his eyes. “How’d your day go?”
“Nice, actually. I just took Nala for a walk and-“ you cut yourself off.
“I didn’t know you had a pet? Can I see her? I love anim-“
“She’s a tiger.”
You give him more and more reasons everyday as to why him hanging out with you was unethical and strange but he seemed to keep on staying. Studying you as if intrigued by your strangeness.
“You- have a pet..tiger?”
Yeah. I’ve done it.
“I- yeah.”
It seems like all Jack ever does is grin because he’s doing it again and flinging an arm around your shoulder as he starts to walk with you.
“Oh, Dee. There’s just so much to learn and love about you.”
It takes you a second to react.
“That may be the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me.”
“You serious?”
“Yeah. Well, cause I was ugly growing up, and people always thought I was strange. It’s hard to imagine that people are genuinely interested in any sort of friendship with me.”
Jacks fingertips on your bare collarbone, his cologne and aftershave, his figure pressed against your side; all of it was overtaking your senses.
“Baby, why do you think I walked up to you that day in the first place? You may not remember much but I do. You were so kind and honest. And so intriguing. And hardworking. And pretty. I think your dark circles are hot.”
You huff out a laugh and ignore the flutter in your chest at ‘baby’.
Jack looks down at you with a gaze that he can’t pinpoint. You’re just very, very endearing to him. He needs to show you all kinds of fun so you laugh like that again.
“You smell nice.” You say and hesitate before loosening yourself against him more. He hums at the increased contact and at your compliment, smiling against your hair.
“Thank you.”
To say you had the absolute time of your life at the aquarium was an understatement. Jack got to see a side of you that loved fun, that was carefree, and didn’t have that goddamn crease in your eyebrows. You were the one pulling him around, telling him you wanted to be a marine biologist as a kid and that you recognize most of the species. Jack made sure to snap a few pictures of you when you weren’t looking, the lightning shaped twinkle in your eyes a memory he wanted to keep forever.
Later that day, Jack drove you back to your apartment, mentally noting that you were about a fifteen minute drive from his place.
“Nala?” You coo out softly as you push open the door and drag Jack inside, not giving him the chance to protest. Jack looks around at your apartment. It’s small and messy, but organized in some places. He jumps and lets out a brief scream when a fucking tiger is bounding towards you at full speed and knocking you over with a hug. You laugh as your beloved Nala starts licking up your face and you both roll on the floor.
Jack’s breathing calms a little as he remembers who owns the tiger.
“I’ll put her away for now.” You say, reading Jack’s skepticism. He sighed in relief.
“Oh good. Because as much as you reassured me and as man as I am, she’s still a tiger.” You giggle at his words and guide Nala towards her room.
The sound makes Jack smile stupidly. His heart stutters and he wants to put your little laugh on replay. He can’t believe that a girl who stated random medical facts at any time, who lost sleep because ‘she just forgot that it’s important’, who barely remembered him from a while ago even though he remembered everything, who waves at planes as they fly overhead, who didn’t know shit about the sport he played, had him wrapped tightly around her finger.
He takes a moment to observe your apartment. The stacks of medical related books that he doesn’t want to and never will understand, the old record player sitting in the corner of the kitchen, a huge jar of nutella on the coffee table, a questionable fluffy purple blanket on your sofa. Just little things that made you all the more real to him.
And he still wants to know more. He wants to know your sleep schedule so he knows that you’re getting enough sleep and when to text or call, he wants to know what you dream of, he wants to know your passions besides studying, he wants to know what made you become so numb and detached, how you still managed to have a twinkle in your eye when you experienced emotion.
But, as he leans to the counter for support at his racing mind and as you enter the room, still clad in your godforsaken low cut top and curve-hugging shorts, he most of all wants to know what you are like, what your lips would feel like molded against his, how you’d moan or whimper at his touch. He’s still leaning against the counter as he recalls when you unabashedly pushed your tits together just hours ago.
“You alright?” You ask, but you yourself seemed to have distressed eyebrow lines.
“Uh? Oh yeah. I was just.” He gestures around your apartment. “Observing.”
You nod, still lost in thought.
“Are you okay?” He asks, not liking the stress in your body language.
“Yeah. It’s just, I have two projects due next week and I’ve been studying for something else so I completely forgot about them.” You frown, feeling tears pool in your eyes. You can’t cry in front of Jack. If everything else didn’t make him abandon you, then this would.
“Woah. Hey, hey.” Jack is by your side immediately. He feels guilty for thinking of you sinfully while you were in distress but he really couldn’t help it. You blink back the tears and shrug it off.
“It gets kind of a lot sometimes, y’know?” Jack follows you to the couch and sits next to you, immediately taking your hands in his and pulling your legs onto his lap. You gave up on keeping your cool when he does that and give him a bewildered expression. Being taken care of is so strange.
“And? Go on, baby.” He smiles softly and encouragingly, dropping one of your hands to hold your chin for a moment before grabbing your hand again.
You blink.
“Well, It’s probably not as much as I’m stressing it out to be. I’m about to abuse substances.”
“Now don’t do that. There’s lots of ways to destress yourself.” Jack’s hand wanders again, resting on your bare knee. His movements are soft and gentle, but they still cause a foreign spark through your body. You dryly cough before registering his words and looking at Jack’s hand that had inched higher by the slightest.
“Is this flirting?” Rushed out of your mouth and Jack chuckles, a normal sound but an octave lower.
“Sure is, baby. You’re learning fast.” He’s staring your eyes down, and all of a sudden he’s consuming your senses again. His cologne is still there, his insane blues are glued to yours, his deep breathing is signifying his increasing heart rate. His hand inches higher as he moves closer.
“Why don’t I just,” shrug, “eat you out? ‘S a better high than drugs-” His phone buzzes in his pocket.
Jack huffs and pulls away, leaving your insides churning at the his lingering touch and words??? The implication alone, the images conjuring in your head were nothing short of filthy.
He scowls as he takes the call, muttering something about how it’s his agent and he’ll get in trouble if he doesn’t answer. His responses are curt and his expression neutral, but his hand is gripping your thigh with intensity. As he hangs up the call and tosses his phone aside, his hand is almost at your inner thigh and he maneuvers himself to be directly on his knees on the floor in front of you.
The sudden movement and his face looking up at yours between your slightly parted legs has your pussy throbbing. It’s been weeks since you were.. in this particular position with someone and god did it feel nice that it was the finest man in world to unpause your sex life.
He leans up to be face level with you. “Do you trust me, baby?” You never noticed how sultry his natural voice was.
His eyes search yours for any kind of discomfort as his hand reaches forward to cup your cheek. You nod in conformation as he moves closer.
Your breath hitches as he presses his lips to your cheek, dangerously close to your mouth. It confuses you slightly as to why he didn’t just kiss you but both of his hands on your waistband distracts you.
“Can I take these off?” He questions and you nod once again, not trusting your voice.
He’s doing everything in slow motion and you think it alludes to your sensitivity earlier, but anticipation and his hands cloud everything in your mind.
What kind of guy just? offers to eat you out? to help you destress?
Your shorts are discarded and the exposure doesn’t bother you. Sure your heart would be thudding either way, but Jack made you feel different. No anxiety in the sense that he would judge you or harm you or hurt your feelings.
“Hm, these are cute.” Jack’s thumb fingers over the lining of your underwear.
You feel yourself flush.
“Thanks.” Is your quiet response.
“Relax, baby. This is for you to unwind, not to get nervous. Focus on how you’re feeling,”   Jack instructs as his finger ghosted over your clothed cunt. Your teeth nibble on your bottom lip as you push your hips closer to his hand.
He smirks at your eagerness and gives in, entirely pushing his thumb against your clit through your panties.
His thumb moves slowly but firmly back and forth as he gauges your reaction. Finding the right spots where your stomach clenches or your eyebrows knit together.
“More.” You muster as you open your eyes to look down at Jack who was already moving to take your damp panties off. Once again, slowly. He groans as he sees you glistening for him and starts kissing up your thigh.
“You have a pretty face.”
Jack grins up at your compliment while peppering feather light kisses on your inner thighs.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
The anticipation pools in your lower stomach as Jack breaks eye contact with you to admire your delicacy in front of him. He uses the same thumb to rub through your folds and reach higher to circle your clit. The stimulation has you moaning softly and the sound has Jack’s cock twitching in his shorts.
“I- hurry.” You huff in slight annoyance, wanting more besides the slow circles. Jack smirks against your thigh and removes his thumb so he could move forward lick a stripe through your folds.
Your knuckles get white gripping the pillow,  itching to hold his hair instead as his eyes flicker between yours and your pussy. Jack notices your hand on the pillow and guide it to his hair while sucking and licking your cunt. He parts away for a second to catch his breath before making slow and languid motions with his tongue on your clit.
You grip his hair, hard. Jack grunts against you and loses a shred of control as he pulls your legs apart further to dive further in. You let out a startled breath at the sudden movement and pull on his hair more as he shakes his head deeper while still staring up at you.
“Jack..” you breathe out, but it comes out as more of a whimper that makes him hum against you and a spark run through his body. He pulls away and inserts his middle and ring finger through your slick and pumps shortly before curling his fingers. You heave a breath and moan at the feeling while Jack stares up at you in awe.
“You’re everything.” He says more to himself than you, as he watches you writhe and whimper at his fingers while holding the eye contact. He connects his lips with your clit again and suctions in a way that has your back arching and your moans getting louder and more high pitched with each type of attention Jack gives to your pussy.
He switched his fingers and mouth and rubs your clit as he laps up your arousal as he feels you getting close. He takes that moment to switch back and locks eyes with you as his dark pink, wet lips attach to your clit again, softly sucking you closer to your tipping point.
“Oh, f-fuck I’m-“
Your eyebrows knit and your eyes roll back at the sensations of his mouth and tongue and fingers and gaze.
You spasm around his fingers and moan louder while Jack’s fingers guide you through your release. He licks up whatever he can before sitting and wiping his face with the back of his hand as you stare at him with hooded and tired eyes.
“Feel better?” He has the nerve to ask as he runs a wet wipe up and between your legs.
When did he even get that?
Your leg twitches in sensitivity after he’s finished.
“Mm better.” Was all you could muster. All you wanted was to sleep and dream for days.
Jack laughs softly at your state and checks the time.
“I’ll need to head out soon. Team dinner.” He says as he fits another pair of underwear on you. You feel a pang in your chest and anxiety creeps up your spine, but Jack immediately shuts your thoughts down.
“Hey, this doesn’t mean I’ll abandon you or anything. I’m goin’ cause I have to and I would take you but you look like you could use a nap. We can hang tomorrow?” He’s so soft and caring with you, cupping your cheek and smoothing his thumb over it.
“Yeah okay.” You say and watch as he gets up, not before pressing a kiss to your forehead.
“I won’t go anywhere, baby.”
After the team dinner, when Jack got home and shut the door to his apartment, the first thing he did was call his older brother. Quinn was just the slightest, itty-bittiest bit more fortunate with girls, so Jack naturally went to him for tips here and there.
A few minutes into the call, they exchanged formalities and talked about each others’ seasons before Quinn cut to the chase.
“So? Is it a girl?”
Jack blanched.
“I- well yes, but it’s different this time. Swear.”
“You say that every-time. But it does sound like it might be different.”
“Do you remember Dee from high school?”
“I don’t remember anything from high school.” Is it really that common to forget four years of your life?
“Yeah well. I met her again a few weeks ago. She was the one who used to take all the APs and she graduated early? She was like always tired and kinda funny. And she’s pretty. Like the natural kind of pretty. You’d look at her and want to give up the world for her kind of pretty. I don’t know.” Quinn listened quietly, detecting the hint of fear in Jack’s voice.
“I might be, like obsessed with her. I think she knows.”
“Wait, wait, wait. She knows? That you like her? And you’re not together yet?” Jack didn’t deny it when he said that he liked her.
“I-yes? I think so. She might be into me too and we did a thing earlier today and she flirts with me without even thinking about it? That’s gotta mean something right?”
“You did things with her?!She flirts with you?! Do something. But take it slow. She probably still wonders why you even give her the time of day. She likes you but she doesn’t know it yet.” Hearing his older brother say it untightened his chest.
“I was going to kiss her but I really wanted to things slow with her. She’s been through a bit and, I don’t know, I want to treat her special.” He’s glad that he has a person he can say the cringiest shit to. If it was anyone else on the other line, he would get toasted for the rest of his life. Jack wore his heart on his sleeve and was smart at reading people and their emotions. But sometimes he was just clueless on what to do with that knowledge.
We can hang tomorrow.
Who the fuck says that after going down on someone.
Jack didn’t text you that night.
Or the next morning.
You started panicking slightly when you come home from classes.
That had to have been the last straw for him.
He’s a fucking superstar, he lives in the New York City area, where all the pretty models and blue eyed blondes live. Why the hell would he go for a tired med student from his home state who didn’t care about herself enough to care for him?
Your mind runs a marathon as the elevator doors open to your floor. But when you approach your apartment, Jack is sitting on the floor next to door, scrolling on his phone.
You freeze and stare blankly as he realizes that you’re here.
He perks up and walks over to you pulling you into a light hug.
“Hey, Dee. How were classes?”
“Good. Thanks for asking.” You reply, hesitantly wrapping your arms back around him. You weren’t hugged a lot as a kid or growing up. You’ve hugged more in the last two weeks than you have in your entire life.
“I have a game later today. Wanna come? The other team…isn’t that good. We might win. Unless you have work to do. Or if you just don’t want to go that’s okay too. Or-“ he cuts off when you press a finger against his lips.
“I’d love to go. I finished a lot of my work during classes.” You smile removing your fingers, relaxing in his arms. “When is it?”
“At 7. I’ll pick you up, yeah?”
“Yeah.”
You both just stand there for a minute before you remember social cues.
“So, come in? I’m hungry as fuck. We should eat.” You say pushing the door open, petting Nala as you walk in and Jack followed. He smiles at your awkwardness and accepts.
Your look is acceptable. Hair clutched back, light makeup, hoodie and sweats is your go-to anyway. Plus, you’re always cold.
You arrive at around quarter to seven and with the help of signs make your way to the lounge that Jack gave you a pass to.
There’s a guard at the door that held his hand out for the pass and when you gave it to him he eyed you wearily.
“You’re Hughes’ girl? Where did you get this?”
“Jack gave it to me.”
“Uh huh.”
You furrow your eyebrows. “So can I go in?”
“Sweetheart, Jack has only ever invited two other girls here and I can tell you right now, you’re not the third. Who gave you this pass?”
The mention of Jack bringing other girls here makes you absolutely sick to your stomach.
You might vomit.
But anger bubbles up your throat and you’re about to press your finger into the guards chest and give him a piece of your mind, when there’s a patter of feet and an excited “Dee!” coming from your left.
Jack has you in his arms already before you could register it. He tucks you into his shoulder, presses his lips against your temple, lingering, and faces the guard.
“Was there a problem?” The guards mouth hangs open and flickers between the two of you.
“None at all.” He opens the door and lets the two of you in. After he shuts the door and turns face you, you take a second to admire him.
He’s dressed in his game jersey, shoulder pads and everything; except for his skates.
He looks really good.
“You look really good.”
Silence.
“Are you blushing?”
Jack pulls you into his chest so you don’t see more of the pink adorning his cheeks.
“Am not,” he mutters above your head and you giggle as you try to untangle from his grasp.
You pull back and notice that he still has a tint on his cheeks. He holds your face for a moment, admiring every feature. Going from eye to eye, the slope of your nose, the dimple digging into your left cheek, a beauty mark on your chin, your lips.
You feel your breath quickening when his thumb grazes your cheek and his eyes linger on your lips a little longer.
A sharp knock on the door interrupted the two of you.
“Warm ups in two!”
Jack sighed and looked back at you.
“I need to go. You can watch from here.” He led you further into the room and you could hear the crowd getting louder as you got closer. He led you to a balcony where there were a few other people, and pecked your cheek before going back.
The game starts and you’re more clueless that you thought you’d be. The puck was way too small and you didn’t bring your glasses, but you remember Jack telling you that he was ‘86’, so you tried to follow wherever he was.
The girl next to you strikes up a conversation which you cautiously tread with, but you warm up soon. She tells you that she’s dating someone on the team.
“Woah. That must be cool.” She looks confused.
“Aren’t you Jack’s girl?”
“No? We’re friends. I think. He’s really nice to me.” Your new friend blinks before talking again.
“He really likes you though, and you look like you really like him.”
“Well of course I do. He treats me really well.”
“Oh, babe. No. He like likes you. My boyfriend told me he talks about you all the time.” She holds your hand. You look down at it and back at her. You’re quiet for a moment. You’re not sure how to process that.
“I’m not sure how to process that.”
“Well, do you like him? Love him even?”
“I-“
You’re cut off by that awfully loud goal horn, and glance at the screen to see that Jack has scored. You felt a surge of pride in your chest and feel yourself smiling wide as Jack’s tiny figure skated around and fist bumped the players on the bench. He turns to your section for a moment, lingering for a sliver of a second and your heart stops. The game called for the face-off just a second later so he had to look away.
You look over to the girl on your right and she’s already looking at you with a half smirk.
Jack politely declined on drinks later in the locker room after the devils won.
He leans against his car and thinks about you. He really wanted to see you, needed your affirmation.
It’s all he seems to do now. Jack just wants reassurance and peace in knowing that you were there. He spent every waking moment thinking about you and how he got you to show sides of yourself that you don’t show to people. He tried to keep his personal life away from hockey but the way his instincts told him to look in your general direction after he scored made him sick to his stomach.
He might actually be stupid obsessed with you.
Trusting his gut on your body language and making a bold move the previous night may have been the best thing he’s ever done.
That means that he doesn’t need to be cautious with his flirting anymore. He knows exactly what he feels but he wants to wait til you come to that conclusion on your own.
He didn’t notice your quiet footsteps in his direction and was mildly startled when you were standing in front of him. Almost at once, he felt a smile adorn his face.
“That was so cool, I didn’t understand anything but I know you scored.” Your wide, twinkling eyes stared back up at him. “I’m proud of you.”
And that’s all it took for him to usher you into the back seat, strip off your sweatpants, and throw your legs over his shoulders.
Not even ten minutes later, your lungs are dying for air and your body is covered in a thin sheet of sweat. He was rougher this time, sucking a hickey on your neck before, getting the entire bottom half of his face messy, his own hooded eyes losing focus as he pleasured you.
“You back to me yet, baby?”
“Hm?”
You open your eyes and you’re in the front seat, cleaned up, pants back on, and Jack is fastening your seatbelt for you.
“I lost you for like, three minutes there. You okay?”
His voice is gentle and quiet, his index and thumb holding your chin softly as his azure eyes bore into yours.
“Chipotle?”
He laughs, pulling back and shifting the gear into drive, his hair falling slightly in his face and he pushes it back.
“All the chipotle in the world for my Dee.”
Your mind briefly flashed to how he kissed the tip of your nose before he went down on you, and not your lips.
You’re in Jack’s apartment now (your heart dropping when you thought of Nala, but then you remembered that you fed her quite well and she had to be passed out by now. Jack handed you a Hershey’s kiss to calm you down), and it’s big.
Like, huge.
Massive for someone who lives alone.
His TV was playing ‘How to lose a guy in 10 days’ and you were watching like a hawk.
“I’ve never seen this one before.”
“Really? You don’t watch romcoms?” Jack looks at you surprised, sitting next to you with both of your chipotle orders and throwing a blanket over the two of you.
“No. I don’t really get the time.” You furrow your brows and turn to him with a blank expression. “You’ve showed me so much fun in the last few weeks. Thank you.”
Jack could happily die in that moment. He flashes back to yesterday again, your childlike wonder, the new things he learnt about you.
“‘S nothing yet. There’s so much more you deserve to feel happy about.” He kisses your temple before getting closer to you.
You both watch in silence for a while, occasionally laughing and aw-ing, until you can’t hold it back anymore.
“Do you think kissing is unhygienic?”
You look up to him, his unbuttoned shirt, messy hair and lingering smile making your heart skip a beat.
Oh no.
You have such a horrible, fat crush on him.
“Hm?”
“I-nothing.”
“M’kay.”
Sweet boy is not a multitasker and the movie was at a really good part, so he didn’t really get distracted and soon you were engrossed too.
You were still in a cloud of feelings and it was getting a bit much for you. Your head was usually void of emotion, so the change was welcome. And you had Jack to thank for that. He’s done so much for you, taken care of you in ways that no one has and no one ever will.
You realize that he could be your worst heartbreak or someone that’s going to be in your life forever.
You feel slightly sick thinking about it and you need to get it out of your system.
“Can I suck you off?” Your lips lightly brush his ear.
Now that.
That gets Jack’s attention.
He nearly snaps his neck to turn to face you and your noses touch.
“You- I- what?”
Your fingertips are feathery as you brush the hair out of his face.
“I want to suck your dick.”
“You don’t- if this is to- to reciprocate or something-“
“I promise it’s not. I really just want to.”
Jack is already semi-hard and he can feel his dress pants tighten. His eyes briefly widen and he borderline gulps before he watches your hand run down his chest and toy with his belt buckle. As soon as he gives you the green light and pauses ‘How to lose a guy in 10 days’, you’re on your knees in front of him, just like how he was with you the previous night.
Jack’s sanity is once again lost as he watches you on your knees for him. You make a quick work of his belt buckle and pull down his dress pants just enough.
You can already see how loaded he is through his boxers and look back up at him with the same wide eyes that he goes crazy over.
“Cool.”
Jack barely has time to react over your concise approval of his length before you’re mouthing over his boxers, sucking softly, leaving Jack gasping for a breath.
You pull down his boxers and start working immediately, pumping him and wetting your hands slightly so you have more friction.
“Y’know, it’s crazy—I know what all of these veins are called.” You say, more to yourself but Jack’s half smile drops when you lay your tongue flat against his shaft and suck on his tip. He lets out an embarrassing sound between a staggered breath and a whimper as you make your way down. Your cheeks hollow out as you make eye contact with him, making sure you’re getting it right. You come off and continue with your hands and look up at him.
“Good?”
“F- Christ- fuck, so good, baby. So good.”
Happy with yourself, you continue to suck him clean while he chokes out moans and his stomach clenches. You can feel him getting heavier in your mouth and you start speeding up, using both of your hands.
There’s a moment when he reaches forward to push your hair out of your face, so that you don’t get bothered and so that he sees you properly, which warms your heart.
He taps one of yours hands that’s on him to indicate that he’s close and you pull back with a kitten lick to his tip before sticking your tongue out.
You have Jack seeing stars when his load pumps into your mouth, and your eyes dart over his shirt clinging to his chest, his hair falling into his screwed shut eyes, his lips parted and his hand gripping the sofa with such intensity that his veins pop out.
You tuck him back into his clothing after cleaning him up, and he looks at you with tired eyes while making grabby hands.
You chuckle, climbing into his arms and he slumps his body against you, both of you now lying down on the couch as he unpauses the movie.
His head rests comfortably against your chest, one of your hands running through his hair, and the other intertwined with his.
It’s sweet.
Jack wakes up alone and panics at once. It’s embarrassing, really; like finding out your stuffed animal fell to the floor during your sleep as a toddler. But when he checks his messages, he finds a text from you.
Hey, I had to leave. I have a project due tomorrow and also Nala :( We can meet up later. I had fun yesterday. Thank you :))
It’s hits Jack how gone he is when he finds himself clutching his phone to his heart.
It takes a while.
He comes home fresh from morning practice took a nice long nap to clear his head before waking up properly to see that it was raining outside.
He was enjoying (not) the protein shake that he was required to drink and mindlessly scoring through plays from an old game, when it hits him like a sack of bricks.
Do you think kissing is unhygienic?
You think he doesn’t want to kiss you.
You think he’s toying with your heart by showing you all kinds of affection besides the one thing that both of you wanted so fucking bad.
You think he doesn’t like you enough to do that yet.
The drive to yours was smooth despite the rain pouring down from every direction, and because you always reminded him of road safety.
You were standing outside of the apartment building, looking like you were having an argument with.. your tiger.
Your hands were on your hips, body soaked and hair wet as you tried to coax Nala into shelter.
Jack laughed at both of your antics which got your attention. Your mind flashes back to the day that you met him, the pouring rain, and how awkward it was to meet someone you knew from a while back. You wave at him happily as he approached, but noticed a hint of  anxiety and embarrassment.
“What’s wro-?“
“Are you into poetry?”
“Uh, sometimes? Why?”
“This- well, I can’t read it. Here.”
He hands over his phone, stuffs his hands in his pockets and looks at anything but you. Puzzled, you cover his phone from the pelting droplets so you could read.
‘The first time you caught my eye
it was not love at first sight.
Instead a quiet curiosity was
planted in my chest and I knew
it was only a matter of time before
you sunk beneath my bones and
nurtured this deep seated familiarity
into a love so fierce that I would question
if I had ever been in love before.’
Lyra Wren.
You read it again.
There’s no way he actually searched for a poem to depict how he felt.
“Look, I didn’t understand half of it hit you get the-“
Jack was cut off by our lips against his.
It was short, maybe a second long, closed mouth, but you pulled away breathless and were close enough to feel his heart racing underneath his clothes.
How desperately he wanted your cold, soft lips against his again.
“So, you like me? For who I am?”
He nods.
“Are you sure? ‘Cause I-“
You were interrupted by Nala’s whine (to say: I change my mind, I want to go inside), and you give Jack his phone, grab his hand and pull him inside.
“C’mon, we’ll get pneumonia.”
Your hands were still in each others, his engulfing yours, when you shut the door to your apartment, locked it, watched Nala bound to her room, and turned to face him again properly.
He was so, so close. Your lips were parted, just inches apart, your foreheads touching.
He closed the gap this time, almost groaning in relief when he felt your mouth properly against his, something you both yearned for without realizing. His lips move against yours gently, savoring as much of you as he can. He nips your bottom lip and it has you and Jack smiling into the kiss. And then it’s a mess, teeth clashing, giggling, tongues lolling over another, one of his hands cupping your face and the other wrapped around your waist, but it feels like everything you’ve ever wanted.
You pull back.
“I love you more.”

The sun streamed through the window, casting a soft golden light into the room, as laughter and chatter filled the air. The midterm exams had just ended, and all the students, still buzzing with energy, were busy talking about the exam answers. You were in the middle of chatting with your friends when the classroom door swung open, and the teacher walked in.
Immediately, the class president stood up, prompting the rest of the students to follow with a chorus of greetings. The teacher gave a brief nod, signaling for everyone to sit down, and the room fell into a hushed silence. She glanced around, her eyes settling on the group of eager faces.
"I would like to make new seat arrangements based on your grades," she began, her voice firm but calm. "And before any of you start, I'm not accepting any complaints or 'no's' from you. This is final."
A collective groan rippled through the class. You exchanged glances with your friends, rolling your eyes along with them as the usual grumbling started. "This is so unfair," someone whispered behind you. Another student muttered, "I was finally sitting next to my best friend."
The teacher started calling out names based on the new seating chart. One by one, your classmates were assigned their new spots. When it was your friend's turn, you were practically begging, whispering “Nooo,” while fake crying dramatically as she laughed along with you, both dreading the separation.
Then, it was finally your turn.
"Y/N," the teacher said, scanning her list, "you'll be sitting next to... Lee Heeseung."
Your heart skipped a beat, and your mind went blank for a second. Lee Heeseung? Of all people? You glanced over at him, sitting casually in his seat, completely unbothered. Meanwhile, your friend shot you a wide-eyed look, biting back a grin as if this were some huge inside joke.
You tried to play it cool, but inside, your stomach was doing flips. Heeseung was the guy everyone liked—smart, good-looking, and effortlessly charming. You, on the other hand, were just… you. Sitting next to him was going to be interesting, to say the least.
As students began moving to their new seats, you grabbed your stuff, your nerves creeping in. "Good luck," your friend whispered with a teasing smirk, giving your shoulder a playful nudge.
You rolled your eyes, forcing a smile. "Thanks, I'll need it."
Taking a deep breath, you made your way to your new seat next to Heeseung. He looked up as you approached, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
"Looks like we’re seatmates," he said casually, shifting to make room for you.
"Yeah, lucky me," you mumbled, trying not to sound too awkward as you sat down. You could feel the curious glances from your classmates, and your friend was definitely still staring from across the room.
This was going to be an interesting year.
The lesson started, and the awkward tension between you and Heeseung was palpable. You could feel it hanging in the air like an invisible wall, both of you too polite to acknowledge it. As usual, the teacher began calling out names to read from the textbook, and you silently prayed yours wouldn’t be next. The last thing you needed was to embarrass yourself in front of him.
Your heart raced as the teacher continued down the list, getting closer and closer. You could feel the nervousness creeping in, and the fact that Heeseung was sitting right next to you only made it worse. What if you stuttered? What if you sounded dumb? What if Heeseung thought you were weird or—
“Y/N!” the teacher’s voice cut through your anxious thoughts.
"Shit," you muttered under your breath, eyes widening in panic. Your hands suddenly felt clammy as you fumbled to find the right page, the sound of your heartbeat almost deafening. You could feel Heeseung glance at you, probably sensing your nerves.
Taking a shaky breath, you started reading, praying your voice wouldn’t betray you.
Luckily, you didn’t stumble over the words, but your voice was practically shaking as you read aloud. Each sentence felt like it dragged on forever, and you were hyper-aware of every small mistake you thought you made. You could feel your face getting warmer, but you powered through, forcing yourself to stay calm.
When you finally finished, the teacher nodded and moved on to the next student. Relief washed over you, but not before you snuck a quick glance at Heeseung. He wasn’t laughing or smirking like you feared—he was just listening, completely unfazed.
"Not bad," he whispered quietly enough so only you could hear, a small smile playing on his lips.
You blinked, surprised. "Uh, thanks," you mumbled back, feeling your face heat up even more. Was that… a compliment?
As the lesson continued, you couldn’t help but feel slightly more relaxed. Maybe sitting next to Heeseung wasn’t going to be as terrifying as you thought.
The bell rang, signaling the start of recess, and the classroom immediately buzzed with movement. Everyone was quick to get up from their seats, excited to escape the lesson and catch up with their friends. You didn’t even spare a glance at Heeseung as you hurried out of the room, spotting your friends waiting for you just outside.
You all made your way to your usual table in the corner of the cafeteria, chatting and laughing as you settled in. It was your routine—your little spot, away from the chaos of the rest of the school.
"Oh my god," one of your friends groaned, breaking the flow of conversation. "Why does it have to be a boy sitting next to me? I hate this so much!"
"For real!" another friend chimed in, nodding along. "But I’m lucky. My seatmate’s someone I actually know, so I’m good."
Then, your friend turned to you, a teasing smirk already forming on her face. "What about you, Y/N? How do you feel about your new seatmate?"
You felt all eyes on you, and you immediately knew they were about to make this a big deal. With a small shrug, you tried to play it cool. "It’s… fine, I guess?"
But your friend wasn’t letting you off that easily. "C’mon," she leaned in, her grin widening. "You’re sitting next to Lee Heeseung. You can’t tell me that’s just ‘fine.’ What’s it like being next to Mr. Perfect?"
You rolled your eyes, trying to hide your embarrassment. "It’s not that deep," you said, but deep down, you knew this was only the beginning of their teasing.
Your friend wasn’t buying it, and the teasing only intensified. “Not that deep?” she repeated with a laugh, giving you a playful nudge. “Girl, please. You’ve got front-row seats to the Lee Heeseung every single day.”
Another one of your friends joined in, eyes sparkling with amusement. “Yeah, don’t act like you don’t notice the way the girls practically swoon over him. He’s like the school’s It boy.”
You sighed, knowing you weren’t going to escape this. “Okay, yeah, he’s popular and all, but it’s not like I’m gonna suddenly fall for him just because we’re seatmates.”
Your friends exchanged knowing glances, and you could tell they were holding back smirks. “Sure, sure,” one of them said, drawing out the words. “We’ll see how long that lasts.”
Before you could protest, another one added, “Just don’t fall too hard when he starts helping you with math or something. I can already picture the movie moment where he leans over your desk, all close and—”
You covered your face, groaning. “Can we not do this?”
But they were having too much fun now. “We’re just looking out for you,” your friend teased. “You know, so when the romance sparks start flying, you’re not totally caught off guard.”
You rolled your eyes, but deep down, their teasing left a slight flutter in your chest. Sure, Heeseung was charming and popular, but that didn’t mean anything would actually happen between you two… right?
Or at least, that’s what you kept telling yourself.
The following weeks felt like a blur, almost like you were floating through a dream. You and Heeseung were still awkward around each other, but somehow, he always found a way to make things less tense. He’d casually help you out during class or lean over to ask for answers to questions he didn’t know, and you’d try to keep your cool, even though your heart raced every time.
Each time he spoke to you, you felt your nerves spike. Eye contact? That was a whole other challenge. Sure, you managed to look him in the eye once or twice, but it was always for a brief moment before you quickly glanced away, pretending to be focused on something else.
You played it cool, or at least you hoped you did. On the outside, you kept your composure, nodding along and responding like it was no big deal. But inside, your thoughts were a whirlwind. How was he so effortlessly charming, and why was it so hard for you to act normal around him?
Heeseung, on the other hand, didn’t seem fazed at all. He would flash his easy-going smile whenever he helped you, and if he noticed your awkwardness, he didn’t show it. Instead, he’d just laugh lightly and say something like, "Don't worry, I get it," making you wonder if he somehow knew you were struggling to keep it together.
Despite the awkwardness, there was something about those moments that made you look forward to seeing him each day. But you weren’t about to let yourself get carried away—at least, that’s what you kept telling yourself.
It was science class, and you found yourself once again partnered with Heeseung, this time in a group of five. The group quickly arranged the tasks, deciding who would handle each part of the experiment. You were assigned the responsibility of writing the experimental notes—the detailed steps and observations that had to be recorded.
While the others were busy with the actual hands-on part of the experiment, you sat quietly, jotting down what you could. The room was filled with the sounds of bubbling chemicals, clinking glassware, and quiet murmurs from other groups. You were focused on your writing when you heard someone approach.
"Y/n?" It was Heeseung’s voice.
You glanced up, heart skipping slightly. "Yeah?" you responded, trying to sound casual.
Heeseung leaned over slightly, pointing at the notes. "The next step for the experiment involves using the eraser. It’s to demonstrate static charge. You know, like in the second part of the list.”
You paused, staring at him for a moment, feeling a wave of confusion wash over you. Wait, what? You glanced down at your notes, feeling a bit lost. How did you miss that? Your eyes flickered with nervousness, and you looked back up at him, biting your lip. "Uh... could you repeat that again?"
You felt a pang of embarrassment, wondering how such a simple thing slipped past you. Before you could spiral into overthinking, Heeseung chuckled lightly, his expression softening. He leaned in just slightly closer and started explaining again, this time slower and more patiently.
“It’s not a big deal,” he said calmly, as if sensing your nerves. “We just need to use the eraser to create static for the next part of the experiment. It’s basically to show how the charge affects the materials. Simple stuff.”
You blinked, finally grasping what he was saying. "Ahh, okay, I get it now," you said, nodding along, relieved that he explained it in such a kind way without making you feel dumb.
Heeseung gave you a reassuring smile before going back to the group. For a brief moment, you let out a breath, thankful that he didn’t make a big deal out of it.
You watched as Heeseung returned to the group, his presence effortlessly drawing everyone's attention. It amazed you how naturally he navigated through the chaos of the experiment, guiding the others and laughing at the little mishaps along the way. You couldn’t help but admire how he managed to make even the most mundane tasks seem fun.
With newfound focus, you returned to your notes, writing down the steps as clearly as you could. The warmth from Heeseung’s smile lingered in your mind, and you felt a little more confident. Maybe this partnership wouldn’t be so bad after all.
As the experiment continued, you occasionally glanced at Heeseung. He was genuinely engaged, explaining concepts to his teammates while effortlessly keeping the atmosphere light. You found yourself smiling at how he could turn the stress of science class into something enjoyable.
“Y/N, can you hand me that beaker?” one of your group members called out, pulling you from your thoughts.
“Sure!” you replied, grabbing the beaker and passing it over. But as you did, you caught Heeseung’s eye again. He gave you a small thumbs-up, as if acknowledging your contribution. Your heart fluttered, and you quickly looked away, pretending to focus on your notes.
As the class went on, Heeseung began to engage with you more. “Hey, what’s the next step?” he asked, leaning over slightly to peek at your notes.
You pointed to the relevant section, trying to sound confident. “We just need to record the results from the static charge experiment. Then we’ll analyze the data.”
He nodded, and as he leaned in closer, you felt the heat rising in your cheeks. “You’re really good at this, you know,” he said, his voice low enough for only you to hear.
You felt a mix of pride and embarrassment. “Thanks, but I’m just following the instructions,” you replied, trying to brush it off.
Heeseung shrugged, his gaze steady. “Still, it takes a lot to keep everything organized like this. You’re doing great.”
His compliment caught you off guard, and you found yourself unable to respond immediately. Instead, you just nodded, a smile creeping onto your face despite your attempts to play it cool.
As the bell rang, signaling the end of class, you felt a sense of reluctance wash over you. You packed your things, glancing at Heeseung one last time as he gathered his own materials. He caught your eye and smiled again, a soft, genuine smile that made your heart race.
“See you tomorrow, Y/N,” he said, his voice light.
“Yeah, see you,” you replied, trying to sound casual, even as you walked out of the classroom feeling giddy. Maybe, just maybe, this partnership was turning into something more than you ever expected.
It was PE time, and you and your friends lounged in the garden, talking and laughing like typical teenagers. The sun filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground, creating a perfect backdrop for your carefree moments together. Yet, despite the joy around you, your thoughts kept drifting back to Heeseung. Each day, it felt like you were falling deeper for him, and the realization was both exhilarating and terrifying.
You couldn’t shake the feeling that he wasn’t really a match for you. You and Heeseung felt like the skies and the ground—so different in every way. He was the charming, good-looking star everyone adored, while you were just... well, average. You were pretty enough, sure, but he was on a whole different level. It felt hopeless to even think about the possibility of something between you.
Just as you were lost in these thoughts, your friend interrupted you. "baby girl, you good?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
You couldn’t help but chuckle, a little weirded out by the sudden nickname. “Yeah, I’m good,” you replied, trying to brush off your inner turmoil.
But your friend wasn’t convinced. She stared at you, a knowing look in her eyes that made you squirm. “Oh yeah? You sure it wasn’t about Heeseung you were thinking about?”
Your eyes widened in surprise. “How did you know...?”
She laughed, clearly enjoying your reaction. “Girl, please. It’s written all over your face! You’re practically glowing at the mention of his name. You’re like a total lovesick puppy.”
You felt heat rush to your cheeks, and you buried your face in your hands, groaning. “Okay, okay! Maybe I was thinking about him. But it’s not like it matters, He’s out of my league..”
Your friend waved her hands dismissively. “Stop with that nonsense! You never know what could happen. Besides, you guys are paired up for the whole year. That’s practically fate!”
“Fate?” you echoed, trying to suppress a laugh. “That sounds way too dramatic.”
“Dramatic is my middle name,” she declared, striking a pose that made you giggle. “But seriously, you need to at least admit you have a crush on him.”
You shook your head, though you couldn’t suppress the smile forming on your lips. “Fine, maybe I have a little crush. But that doesn’t change anything. He’s still Heeseung, and I’m still… well, me.”
Your friend rolled her eyes, clearly exasperated. “Stop doubting yourself y/n, you’re amazing just the way you are. Just remember, confidence is key. If you like him, you should just go for it!”
You couldn’t help but think about what she said. Maybe there was a chance, however slim, that things could change. With that thought lingering in your mind, you looked up to see Heeseung walking across the field, laughing with his friends. Your heart raced, and you quickly turned away, trying to mask the flutter of excitement.
Your friend nudged you, her voice low and teasing. “Look! There he is. Are you going to keep pretending you don’t like him huh?”
You let out a laugh, a mix of embarrassment and exhilaration. “Shut up! Just let me think for a second.”
But as you watched him from a distance, you couldn’t help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, there was a chance for you after all.
One week later, your teacher announced that you guys would be having a practice speaking test.
The day finally came, and it was your group’s turn for the test. You had spent the previous night practicing in front of the mirror, trying to perfect your pronunciation, gestures, and confidence. You told yourself over and over that everything would be fine, that you’d get through this without any issues. You were sure of it. Or at least, that’s what you thought.
As the test began, you watched Heeseung go first, his delivery smooth and effortless. He spoke with such ease, barely pausing for breath, his voice calm and composed. Every word was clear, and you couldn’t help but admire how flawless he was under pressure. Of course, Heeseung would ace this, like he did with everything else.
When he finished, the teacher nodded in approval, and your heart sank. Now it was your turn.
You took a deep breath and stood up, feeling the weight of everyone’s eyes on you. Just relax, you got this, you thought, trying to calm your racing heart. But the moment you opened your mouth to speak, your mind went blank.
For a split second, you stood there frozen, staring at the paper in front of you. No, no, no. Not now, you panicked internally. You had practiced this a hundred times last night, and now the words seemed to have disappeared completely.
Glancing over at Heeseung, you saw him looking at you with a reassuring smile, as if silently telling you that you could do this. His confidence somehow made you feel even more nervous. What if you failed? What if he thought you were a complete mess?
You cleared your throat and started speaking, but your voice wavered slightly, betraying your nerves. You tried to push through, but the pressure was overwhelming. Halfway through, you stumbled over your words, losing your train of thought completely.
Your cheeks flushed with embarrassment, and you could feel your palms getting sweaty. The silence in the room was deafening, and you desperately wished you could disappear. But then, you heard a soft whisper next to you.
“Talk about the part where…” Heeseung whispered quietly, his voice just low enough for only you to hear.
You blinked, snapping out of your daze. His words nudged you in the right direction, reminding you of the next point you needed to make. You picked up where you left off, feeling a bit more grounded thanks to his subtle help.
You managed to finish your part, though not as smoothly as you had hoped, but it was done. The teacher gave a nod of approval, and you finally sat back down, letting out a sigh of relief.
Heeseung glanced at you with a knowing smile, and you mouthed a quick “thank you” to him. He just winked, his expression relaxed and calm, as if what he did was no big deal.
And maybe to him it wasn’t, but to you, it meant everything.
The bell rang, signaling the end of class, and you gathered your things, still feeling the rush of relief from having survived the speaking test. Your heart hadn’t stopped racing since you sat back down. Heeseung’s small act of kindness played over and over in your head, and you couldn’t help but feel a little flustered.
As you were putting your books into your bag, Heeseung casually leaned over. "You did fine, you know?" he said with a small smile, his voice gentle.
You blinked, looking up at him. "I don’t know about that… but thanks. I almost messed it up completely."
He shrugged, still smiling. "Everyone gets nervous. Besides, you recovered. That’s what matters."
You felt your face heat up again, the nerves from earlier creeping back in but for a different reason. There was something about the way he spoke so casually to you, like it was the easiest thing in the world, that made you feel... seen. And not in a bad way, but in a way that made you want to hide and smile at the same time.
"Thanks," you said again, your voice softer this time.
He nodded, picking up his bag and slinging it over his shoulder. "See you tomorrow, Y/N," he said before walking out of the classroom, his steps unhurried, as if he had all the time in the world.
You stood there for a moment, watching him leave, the small interaction replaying in your mind. It wasn’t anything grand, but it was enough to leave you standing there, your heart doing flips.
As you met up with your friends in the hallway, they immediately bombarded you with questions. "How was the test? Did you survive?" one of them asked, clearly joking but knowing full well how nervous you’d been.
You laughed, though it was a little shaky. "Barely. I messed up, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be."
Your friend smirked, her eyes narrowing playfully. "And how was Heeseung? You guys were partnered up again, right?"
At the mention of his name, your heart did a weird little jump. "Yeah, he was fine. Helped me out a bit, actually," you admitted, trying to keep your voice nonchalant.
Your friends exchanged looks, their smirks growing wider. "Oh, really? He helped you out? How sweet," they teased, clearly enjoying the flustered look on your face.
"Shut up," you muttered, feeling your cheeks heat up again. "It wasn’t a big deal."
But deep down, you knew it was a big deal to you. Every small moment with Heeseung felt significant, like they were adding up to something bigger, something you weren’t quite ready to admit.
As you walked through the hallways with your friends, laughing and joking like you always did, you couldn’t help but think back to the way Heeseung had smiled at you after the test. Maybe it was nothing, just him being nice, but maybe—just maybe—it was something more.
And that thought stayed with you, lingering in the back of your mind long after the school day ended.
Weeks had passed, turning into months, and the feelings you had tried so hard to ignore began to grow stronger. You had fallen for Heeseung. It was impossible not to—the way he always approached you with that warm, easy smile, how he helped you with subjects you struggled with, and those fleeting glances he’d give you whenever you bumped into each other in the halls. You started to believe that maybe—just maybe—he was interested in you, too.
You found yourself talking about him with your friends every day, the smallest interactions suddenly feeling like monumental moments. You would gush over the way he spoke to you, the way he seemed to make everything around him brighter. Your friends teased you, calling it a classic high school crush, but to you, it felt like something more. Something real.
But one day, everything came crashing down.
You were absent from school on Monday, feeling under the weather, but by Tuesday, you were back. As usual, you arrived late, sneaking into class and slipping into your seat quietly. Your eyes scanned the room, searching for him like you always did. When you found him, he was sitting with his friends, talking and laughing as usual. For a brief moment, your heart warmed at the sight, the same butterflies fluttering inside you.
But then, you saw her.
Aera, one of your classmates, walked into the classroom, and you noticed how Heeseung’s friends immediately nudged him, teasing smiles on their faces as she passed by them. Heeseung’s face lit up, his eyes following her for a second too long. It was subtle, but you caught it.
That pang in your chest hit you like a ton of bricks.
You stared, frozen in your seat, watching as the scene unfolded in front of you. Heeseung chuckled, running a hand through his hair as his friends continued to nudge him, clearly teasing him about Aera. You didn’t need to hear what they were saying to know what it was about.
It was so obvious.
The way his friends teased him when she walked by, the way Heeseung didn’t deny it but instead just laughed along—it all made sense now. The realization hit you like a punch to the gut. The occasional glances, the small smiles, the casual conversations… they weren’t special, at least not the way you thought they were. They were just… normal.
You felt your stomach twist, a wave of nausea washing over you as the truth settled in. He wasn’t interested in you. He was interested in her.
For the rest of the day, that pang in your chest refused to go away. You tried to focus on class, on anything but him, but it was impossible. Every time you glanced in his direction, you saw him laughing with his friends, glancing at Aera when he thought no one was looking.
And just like that, the small world you had built in your head—where maybe Heeseung liked you back—came crashing down.
You plopped onto your bed, your heart aching as tears began to well up in your eyes. The overwhelming emotions you’d been bottling up finally spilled over. “Why does this hurt so much?” you sobbed, pulling your knees to your chest and burying your face in them. Each sob seemed to echo the ache deep in your chest, and you couldn’t stop the flood of tears that followed.
You tilted your head to the side, staring blankly at the wall as the pieces fell into place. So this is why… you thought bitterly. This is why Heeseung always teased Aera, why he would borrow her school supplies when he could’ve easily asked you. You replayed the small moments in your head, moments where you thought he was being distant, but now you realized it wasn’t distance—it was focus. Focus on her, not you.
Every little thing made sense now, and with that realization came an even deeper sense of pain. He wasn’t shy around you; he simply didn’t feel anything special toward you. He wasn’t nervous when you caught him glancing your way; he was probably looking past you to catch a glimpse of her.
You chuckled bitterly, the sound hollow and broken. “How pathetic…” you whispered, wiping away another tear. You had been so naive, thinking that he was interested in you. You convinced yourself that his little acts of kindness meant more than they did. The way he helped you during the speaking test, the fleeting eye contact, the small smiles—they were nothing but common decency.
Your tears blurred your vision as you thought back to every moment you’d replayed in your head over the past months, building it up into something that it never was. You were just a hopeless romantic, falling for someone who was never meant to fall for you.
The next day, you barely dragged yourself out of bed. The thought of going to school, facing Heeseung and Aera, felt unbearable. You were emotionally drained from staying up all night, crying over him—how stupid it seemed in hindsight. But feelings couldn’t be forced, and your heart ached in ways you hadn’t anticipated.
When you finally made it to school, you kept your head down, blending into the background as much as possible. The day went by in a blur, each lesson blending into the next. Every time the teacher left the classroom, you could hear Heeseung’s friends snickering and teasing him whenever Aera was nearby. It stung, and only God knew how much you wanted to disappear every time they talked. The painful reality was right in front of you, and there was no escaping it.
You weren’t sure how you managed to hold it together. You felt like a mess, like you were barely keeping it together. And it must have shown, because at some point, Heeseung glanced at you, concern flickering across his face.
"Hey, are you okay?" he asked softly.
Is it that obvious? you thought. You didn’t trust yourself to speak much, so you just nodded, not even sparing him a glance. You couldn’t.
Math class rolled around, and as usual, you were struggling. Numbers and formulas swam before your tired eyes, but today, you didn’t even consider asking for Heeseung’s help like you usually did. There was no way you could face him, not after everything. Instead, you kept your head down, trying to make sense of the problem in front of you, even though it felt like trying to read a foreign language.
"You need help with that?" His voice broke through the silence, and for a split second, your heart twinged at the familiarity of it.
But you shook your head quickly, keeping your eyes glued to the textbook. "No, I can manage," you muttered, even though you knew you couldn’t.
There was a pause, and you could feel him watching you. "Alright," he said, sounding slightly hesitant, "just tell me if you need help. I'm always here."
You didn't respond. You didn’t have the energy to. All you could do was nod, your eyes still fixed on the page in front of you. His words echoed in your head—I'm always here—but they felt hollow now. It was like the safety net you once felt around him had disappeared, replaced by the reality that his attention was somewhere else, on someone else.
You bit your lip, swallowing down the lump in your throat. You were going to get through this. You had to. But right now, everything still hurt.
The rest of the day dragged on painfully. You went through the motions—attending classes, taking notes, and exchanging small talk with your friends—but your mind was elsewhere, fixated on the ache in your chest. Every time Heeseung laughed with his friends or shared a casual smile with Aera, it felt like a fresh stab to your heart.
By the time the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, you were more than ready to leave. You packed your things quickly, avoiding any lingering glances in Heeseung’s direction. Your friends noticed your quieter-than-usual demeanor, but they didn’t press you too much. You gave them a half-hearted smile and told them you were just tired.
As you walked home, the familiar streets blurred in your peripheral vision. The conversations and laughter from your classmates echoed in your mind, but you felt distant from it all. You replayed Heeseung’s words in math class, the way he had offered to help like he always did. It was almost painful how effortlessly kind he was, even when you were trying to distance yourself.
By the time you reached your house, the emotional exhaustion had fully set in. You threw your bag onto the floor, kicked off your shoes, and collapsed onto your bed once more. The quiet of your room wrapped around you like a comforting blanket, but it didn’t erase the feelings bubbling just beneath the surface.
You stared at the ceiling, thoughts spinning. Why did I have to fall for him? you wondered for what felt like the hundredth time. Heeseung was everything you could’ve asked for in a person—kind, smart, charming. But the reality was, you were just a background character in his story. No matter how much you wished it were different, Aera was the one who held his attention.
You rolled onto your side, hugging your pillow tightly as a fresh wave of sadness washed over you. It wasn’t fair, but you knew life wasn’t about fairness. You’d get over this, eventually, but right now, it just hurt.
Before you could sink further into your thoughts, your phone buzzed beside you. You reached over to check it, blinking at the screen. It was a message from one of your friends.
Bestiee<3: “Are you okay? You seemed kinda off today. Let’s hang out this weekend, okay? We can binge some shows and forget about school for a while. 🫶”
You smiled weakly at the text, appreciating the gesture. Maybe you did need a break, a chance to step away from everything and focus on yourself for a bit.
You: “Yeah, sounds good. Thanks for checking in.”
You put your phone down and sighed. Maybe hanging out with your friends could help distract you from the mess of feelings swirling inside. Maybe you just needed time, a reminder that your world wasn’t falling apart—at least not completely.
But for now, you let the quiet fill the room again, allowing yourself to feel whatever it was you needed to feel. Tomorrow was another day and maybe, it would hurt a little less.
You had fun hanging out with your friends over the week, trying to distract yourself from the lingering hurt in your heart. After all, you were just a human with feelings, and it was hard to shake off the emotional weight that Heeseung’s unexpected interest in Aera had brought.
As Heeseung's birthday approached, he invited you to his party. You wavered, unsure if you should go, especially since Aera would likely be there. But in the end, you forced yourself to attend, not wanting to let your own insecurities ruin a chance to celebrate someone you cared about.
You decided to buy him a beanie—something he had once casually mentioned loving during a conversation.
“What’s your favorite stuff?” you had asked, genuinely curious.
“Why do you ask?” He had chuckled, raising an eyebrow.
“Just curious,” you replied, keeping it light.
“Hmmm, I like stuff like beanies?” he said with a smile.
“A beanie lover, I see?” you teased back.
“You could say that,” he laughed, and in that moment, you felt a warmth inside, a flicker of hope that maybe, just maybe, he noticed you too.
The day of the party arrived, and you found yourself standing in front of his house, heart racing. His maid greeted you at the door, a welcoming smile on her face.
“Mr. Lee is currently with his friends. You can go around the house and have fun,” she said.
“Okay, thank you!” you replied, trying to sound upbeat while gripping the gift a little tighter.
Just then, someone touched your shoulder, making you jump slightly. You turned to see one of Heeseung's friends, a friendly smile on his face.
“Hey, y/n, right?” he asked.
“Uh, yeah, and… you are?” you replied, forcing a smile that felt a little shaky.
“I’m Jake, Heeseung’s friend. C’mon, let’s go upstairs. Heeseung and the others are there too.”
“Alright!” you nodded, following him as you tried to suppress your nerves.
As you both ascended the staircase, the sound of laughter and chatter grew louder. Jake opened the door, revealing Heeseung surrounded by his friends, and—your stomach dropped—Aera was there too.
You gulped, feeling a wave of nervousness wash over you as you gripped the gift tighter, your heart racing.
“Heeseung!” Jake called, and your gaze met Heeseung’s.
His face lit up, a wide grin spreading across his features. “Y/n! You made it!”
“Hey,” you said, forcing a smile, though your heart felt heavy.
“Come in! We’re just about to start the games!” he said, motioning for you to enter.
You stepped inside, trying to shake off the nerves. The atmosphere was lively, filled with excitement and laughter, but as you caught sight of Aera leaning closer to Heeseung, the pang in your heart returned. You took a deep breath, reminding yourself to enjoy the night, even if it was bittersweet.
You found yourself sitting on the couch, watching the group play games, trying to force a smile as laughter filled the room. But each joyful sound felt like a dagger in your heart. Your gaze drifted to Heeseung, who was seated next to Aera. The sight of them together was almost unbearable. They leaned into each other, sharing jokes and secrets that felt intimate.
Heeseung leaned closer to Aera, whispering something in her ear that made her laugh—a sound so light and carefree, it sent a pang of longing through you. As she playfully touched his arm, you noticed a faint blush creeping onto his cheeks. That was the final straw. You had thought you could handle this, that you had moved on at least a little, but it was clear you hadn’t.
With a heavy heart, you got up from the couch, the laughter around you fading into a dull hum. You left his gift on the table, a beanie wrapped neatly in colorful paper, and turned to leave.
“Y/N?” you heard Heeseung call out, but the sound felt distant as you stepped out of the room. You staggered down the stairs, your heart racing, desperate to escape the painful scene.
Once outside, you reached for your phone, your fingers shaking as you called an Uber. As you waited, you could feel tears pricking at the corners of your eyes, but you blinked them back, determined to hold it together.
The car pulled up, and you quickly climbed in, giving the driver your address in a barely audible whisper. As the car drove away, you stared out the window, watching the lights of the city blur together. The ache in your chest was unbearable, and you couldn’t help but wonder if you’d ever really be able to move on from Heeseung.
You were absent for the whole week, locking yourself in your room and feeling like you were rotting away. Your parents were worried, knocking on your door to encourage you to eat breakfast and dinner, but you kept silent, too engulfed in your own thoughts to respond. You ignored all your friends' calls and messages, including Heeseung's. His voice echoed in your mind—concerned, maybe even a little confused—but you couldn’t bring yourself to answer.
After days of isolation, you finally decided to return to school. You knew this wasn’t right; losing yourself over a boy wasn’t okay. You shouldn’t let your feelings for Heeseung consume you like this. So, with a heavy heart and a resolve to reclaim your life, you reluctantly headed to school.
The moment you stepped inside, you could feel Heeseung's gaze on you. Your heart raced as you glanced his way, and for a moment, everything felt overwhelming again. He furrowed his brows in concern, looking back at you with an intensity that made you want to look away.
You had told your teacher that you wanted to change seats because you couldn’t focus being so close to him. You had begged her over and over until she finally relented, and now you were grateful for that distance.
You settled into your new seat, avoiding his eyes as you rested your head on your arms, trying to shield yourself from the onslaught of emotions. The classroom felt different, quieter somehow, as if the air had thickened with the unspoken tension between you. Despite the chatter of your classmates, all you could think about was how much you missed the comfort of Heeseung's presence—yet how painful it had become to be near him.
As the lesson began, you could feel Heeseung's eyes occasionally flickering towards you, a subtle reminder that he was still there, still worried. But you kept your gaze fixed on the teacher, focusing on the words spilling from her mouth, willing yourself to forget everything else, if only for a moment.
The lesson droned on, but you struggled to concentrate. Your mind kept wandering back to Heeseung—the way he smiled, the sound of his laughter, and the warmth of his presence. Each fleeting memory felt like a double-edged sword, cutting deeper into your resolve to move on.
Suddenly, the bell rang, signaling the end of class. Students started to gather their things, but you remained still, unwilling to face the inevitable rush of conversations and glances. You heard Heeseung’s voice, low and tentative, cutting through the chatter.
“Y/N,” he called softly, his tone filled with concern. You could feel his eyes on you, and the warmth of his gaze was both comforting and painful.
You took a deep breath, pretending to rummage through your backpack as if you hadn’t heard him. You didn’t want to face him—not yet. But as you stood up to leave, you felt a presence beside you. It was Heeseung, standing a mere foot away, his expression serious.
“Can we talk?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
You hesitated, heart racing. Part of you wanted to say yes, to hear what he had to say, but another part feared that it would only lead to more heartache.
“Y/N, please,” he pressed, his eyes searching yours for a flicker of acknowledgment. You finally met his gaze and saw the worry etched on his face.
“Fine.” you replied, your heart pounding in your chest. You followed him out of the classroom and into the hallway, where the noise of students chatting and laughing surrounded you like a whirlwind.
He led you to a quieter corner, away from prying eyes. The air felt thick with tension as you both stood there, unsure of how to start.
“I’ve been worried about you,” Heeseung said, breaking the silence. “You disappeared for a week. I tried to reach you, but… you didn’t answer.”
You looked down, unable to meet his gaze. “I just needed some time to myself.”
“Is it about Aera?”
Your eyes flickered with a mix of shock and frustration. “No.”
Heeseung stepped closer, concern deepening in his eyes. “Y/N, it’s not what you think. Aera and I… we’re just friends. I didn’t mean to make you feel that way.”
“Look, Heeseung, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Just leave me alone. Please.”
His expression shifted, confusion and hurt crossing his features. “Y/N, I—”
“I said I need space!” you interrupted, your voice sharper than intended.
Heeseung paused, taking a step back as if your words had struck him. “Okay, I get it. Just… know that I care about you.”
With that, he turned away, leaving you in the quiet corner, your heart racing from the confrontation. You felt a mix of anger and sadness wash over you, but deep down, you knew that you needed to process your feelings on your own.
As you walked away, you could still feel the weight of his gaze lingering on you, but you steeled yourself, determined to navigate through this turmoil alone, at least for now.
A month later, graduation was approaching, and you hadn’t spoken to Heeseung since that fateful day. You did your best to ignore him, avoiding him at all costs. But if you were honest with yourself, you missed his presence. The vibrant energy he brought into your life felt absent, leaving a void that you couldn’t quite fill.
You had blocked him on all social media, determined to cut ties and free yourself from any concern about him. Yet, as days passed, you noticed something strange: Heeseung and Aera were no longer seen together. You wondered what had happened between them but quickly brushed it off as not being your problem. They were probably just busy or having private conversations.
As graduation day approached, your class decided to throw a party to celebrate. You wore a simple yet elegant dress that made you feel confident and beautiful. The fabric flowed with each movement, accentuating your figure while remaining understated. Laughter filled the room as you and your friends joked around, but you couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched. You decided to excuse yourself, needing some fresh air away from the noise.
Stepping onto the balcony, you took a deep breath, letting the cool night air wash over you. The stars twinkled brightly above, reminding you of countless moments spent with Heeseung, those late-night conversations filled with dreams and laughter. You gazed up at the endless sky, pondering what the future held—what your job would be and who your soulmate might turn out to be.
Your moment of tranquility was suddenly disrupted when the door swung open, and someone stepped outside. You turned to see who it was, and your breath caught in your throat. It was Heeseung, the very person you had been avoiding for months.
“Y/N,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper, filled with uncertainty.
You shifted uncomfortably, unsure how to react. “What are you doing here, Heeseung?” you asked, trying to keep your voice steady, but the tremor betrayed your nerves.
He stepped closer, his hands stuffed deep into his pockets, a nervous habit you had come to recognize. “I’ve been thinking a lot since we last talked. I wanted to talk to you… I-i need to get something off my chest.”
You folded your arms, feeling a mix of apprehension and curiosity. “What is it?”
He hesitated for a moment, searching for the right words. “I liked Aera at one point. Sure she was fun, and I thought I could see a future with her. But the more time I spent with her, the more I realized… she wasn’t the one I truly wanted.”
Your heart raced, unsure where this was going. You could feel the tension in the air, thick with unspoken words.
He continued, glancing down as if searching for courage. “I thought maybe it was just a crush, but then I realized I was just trying to fill a void. It was you I missed, Y/N. Your laughter, your kindness, the way you make everything feel brighter. You’ve been the one on my mind all along, and it’s time I finally admit it.”
He shifted on his feet, his cheeks slightly flushed as he caught your gaze. The sincerity in his eyes was unmistakable. “I fell in love with you, Y/N. I didn’t understand it at first, but now I can’t ignore it anymore. I’ve realized that you’re the one I’ve been longing for.”
You stood there, taken aback by his confession. The mix of feelings you had buried came rushing back, a wave of confusion, hope, and the remnants of your heartache.
“I pushed you away, and I’m sorry for that,” he added, taking a small step forward, his gaze locking onto yours. “You mean more to me than I realized. I just… I really love you, Y/N.”
You took a breath, feeling the weight of his words settle in your heart. Memories flooded your mind: the way he made you laugh, how he always knew what to say to brighten your day, and the comfort of his presence. You remembered the late-night study sessions, the deep conversations about dreams and fears, and how easy it was to be around him.
“Honestly, Heeseung,” you began, your voice trembling slightly, “I’ve missed you too. I didn’t want to admit it, but I’ve been thinking about you a lot. I tried to push you out of my mind, but it just didn’t work. I just… I didn’t know how to handle everything.”
Heeseung’s expression softened, relief washing over his face. “You mean that?”
“Yeah,” you admitted, your cheeks warming. “I thought I could just move on, but it hasn’t been the same without you. I guess… I was scared.”
Heeseung took another step closer, hope shining in his gaze. “Scared of what?”
“Scared that I’d let myself feel something for you again, and then it would hurt even more if it didn’t work out,” you confessed, vulnerability pouring from you.
Heeseung’s gaze deepened as he listened intently, his eyes reflecting a mixture of understanding and longing. “I get it. I’ve felt the same way. But I’m here now, and I want to try. I don’t want to lose you again.”
Your heart swelled at his words, the familiar warmth spreading through you. “I don’t want to lose you either.”
In that moment, the distance that had felt insurmountable shrank, leaving only the two of you in a world filled with possibilities. Heeseung’s fingers brushed against your arm, sending a spark of electricity through you.
“Can we start over?” he asked, his voice low and sincere. “Take it slow this time?”
You nodded, feeling a rush of excitement. “Yeah, I’d like that.”
As the night sky stretched above you, you both stood together, the weight of unspoken words finally lifted. The gentle breeze rustled the leaves around you, a soothing reminder of the passage of time. Heeseung shifted closer, his shoulder brushing against yours, and the warmth of his presence enveloped you.
“Remember when we used to talk about our dreams?” he asked, a nostalgic smile creeping onto his lips. “I used to think about how nice it would be to share those moments with someone special.”
You couldn’t help but smile back, recalling the late-night conversations that had felt so effortless. “Yeah, I remember. We talked about traveling, our goals, and even silly things like our favorite ice cream flavors.”
He chuckled softly, his eyes glinting with mischief. “I still stand by my favorite being mint chocolate chip.”
“Ugh, that’s the worst flavor,” you teased, nudging him playfully.
“Hey!” Heeseung laughed, the sound light and carefree, like music to your ears. “You just don’t appreciate the refreshing taste!”
The playful banter felt familiar and comforting, a reminder of the bond you shared. You both leaned against the balcony railing, looking out at the shimmering lights of the city below, the vibrant energy reflecting the emotions swirling within you.
“I’ve missed this,” Heeseung admitted, his voice turning softer. “I’ve missed you.”
Your heart fluttered at his honesty. “I’ve missed you too. It’s hard to explain, but life felt dull without you around.”
Heeseung’s gaze locked onto yours, the weight of his words resonating in the air. “I promise to be here for you this time. I won’t take our moments for granted again.”
You smiled, feeling a warmth bloom in your chest. “I believe you.”
As you stood there, side by side, the world around you faded into the background. It was just you and Heeseung, two hearts that had weathered a storm, ready to embrace whatever the future held.
The air was charged with a mix of nervous energy and undeniable chemistry, and you felt a shift—a spark that ignited the promise of something more. You turned to him, your pulse racing.
“So, what’s next?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
Heeseung smiled, a hint of mischief returning to his eyes. “Well, first, I think I need to make it up to you for being such an idiot.”
You raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk on your lips. “Oh really? And how do you plan to do that?”
He stepped closer, his voice low and teasing. “How about I take you out for ice cream? You can choose the flavor, even if it’s the ‘worst’ one.”
You laughed, the sound bright and carefree. “Deal. But you might regret it when I choose something crazy.”
“I can handle it,” he replied confidently, his smile infectious. “Just don’t be too mean to my mint chocolate chip.”
As you shared a laugh, the tension between you melted away, leaving only the warmth of rekindled feelings. The future was uncertain, but with Heeseung by your side, you felt ready to embrace whatever came next.
As you both made plans for ice cream and more late-night talks, you realized that love wasn’t just a feeling—it was a journey. And together, you were ready to explore every twist and turn, hand in hand.

Tumblr media
After a long day in the paddock, and after a race that was supposed to be the highlight of the season but ended in a DNF for Oscar, your boyfriend decided to cheer both of you up by inviting you to have dinner in a fancy restaurant. You have been in a relationship for several years since you both were high school sweethearts, so sometimes the romance wore thin. Today, he wanted to give his best after a day worth to forget.
Lately, he had noticed that your behavior was a bit strange. You seemed uncomfortable with yourself, and your self-esteem was at an all-time low, judging by the unpleasant comments you had been making lately about herself. Moreover, the media and "fans" criticism didn't help either, as paparazzi and journalists had been harassing and spreading rumors about Oscar cheating on you, or that you have been gaining too much weight for Piastri’s liking. All of them, among others, were damaging your relationship slowly.
For those two reasons, and because he felt like changing the scenery after the weekly training stress, Oscar told you that you would go out to enjoy a peaceful dinner. He was conscious of all of those criticism, and he was going to remind you how special you were to him and most of it, how perfect you were for him. Also, that you shouldn’t give a damn shit about others opinions, specially when Oscar was the one dating and loving you.
Although you initially resisted to go because you didn’t want to be the center of attention once again, you finally accepted because you knew it hadn’t been an easy day for your boyfriend. You dressed in a beautiful electric blue dress he had gifted you for you birthday las year, and decided not to wear makeup and jewelry. However, you still felt nervous. It was the presence of paparazzi, who followed you wherever you went, made you feel increasingly insecure about yourself and your relationship once again.
In those moments, you thought that Oscar deserved a girl better than you.
"Love," you addressed you boyfriend, a bit hesitant. "Do I look fine like this?"
"My God, Y/N… You're perfect. You always are."
You looked at yourself in the mirror once again. You tried to fake a smile, but you didn't like what you saw in front of you.
"I don't know… I feel a bit ridiculous in this dress," you explained. "Do I look too fat? I don’t think this color suits me very well either..."
"Don't say that," Oscar scolded, approaching you. "It looks amazing on you. Do you remember when I gave it to you? You loved it! You have been wanting it, for months actually, and even though you didn't say it, your face said it all."
"Yes, I remember perfectly, but the problem is that I don't feel comfortable with myself," you continued. "I'm tired of everything that's being said about us and the opinions people seem to have about us. To be honest with you, every day I feel more like… well, that I don’t deserve to be in your life. At least, not as your girlfriend.”
Oscar sighed. He knew you were right. He was pretty conscious about the media and obsessive fans’ behaviour towards you, and he didn’t like that part of fame either, especially when it was for no reason, and because they had no right to comment on your relationship, which was definitely private, but not secret.
You started to cry shily. He did nothing but hesitate to hug you and make your head rest on his chest. He immediately starting to stroke your hair while gently rocking you from side to side, trying his best to calm you down.
"That shouldn't worry you because you're the most important person to me," he assured you. "I love you just the way you are, for the worst and the better, and I’ll keep doing so every day for the rest of my life, ok?."
"Yeah, I know," you said, pulling away from him quite angrily, "The thing here is that I don't care about what you think, but what other people think. I hate that there are people who are spending their free time, or not so free, making theories about us as if we were a Marvel movie!t”
"Darling..."
"Don’t," you exclaimed, interrupting him, "I understand, and I respect, that you're a public figure, but that doesn't mean I can't be tired of the treatment I receive from girls that are in love with you! Aren't they such big fans of yours, and do they admire and love you so much, that they can't have a minimum of respect for the person you share your life with?"
Oscar knew you were right.
"Don't let that worry you," he explained. "What matters is that you and I love each other, and it's not a fake relationship like many out there, so don't let the negative comments affect you. Remember: those people don't deserve even a second of your thoughts."
"Well..." you replied simply. "It's difficult, Osc… I feel like people are analyzing and judging me all the time, no matter what I do."
Your boyfriend sighed again. He didn't know what to do to calm you down. Seeing you hurt made him feel really bad. Although he was familiar with the daily attention and hate comments, it didn't mean you, his girlfriend, had to get used to them. He felt frustrated and worried for you because, even though he knew you were aware that negative attention was part of the deal you signed when you started dating back in high school, it didn't mean you weren't bothered by seeing the love of your life being constantly mocked.
Oscar started thinking what to do. He wanted to make you happy, but if going out to have dinner isn’t what you desired that night…
"What do you think if, instead of going out, we stay here, at the hotel?" he proposed to you. Immediately, you seemed a bit cheered up by the suggestion. "We can order something and have dinner in bed while watching a movie or a series you fancy."
"Really? You don't mind? I'm sure you already had the reservation made, and I really feel so bad..."
"Of course I don't mind," he explained, giving you a kiss on the forehead. "You are the most important thing in my life, so I will do whatever it takes to make you feel better."
Your eyes were still red, but you tried to feel better and fake you were ok. You hugged Oscar and thanked him again for what he just did.
Immediately, you both snuggled up in bed while watching a movie you chose, while Oscar phoned to the hotel’s reception so you could have room service for dinner. Pizza, most specifically, as you wanted it and told your boyfriend.
You didn’t know, but that moment made Oscar the happiest man on earth. He made you smile, even amidst the sadness. However, it was time to start thinking how he could propose to you in a different way because your insecurity, sadly, ruined his plans to kneel and pull the question.

Y/N Stark had always lived in the shadow of their older brother, every accomplishment Y/N had received, he had to outshine them. Although the two of them were polar opposites, Jarvis followed in their father’s footsteps and joined the family company while Y/N found themselves going to UCLA on a football scholarship.Although they only missed one person, besides their mom and Morgan.
Wanda Maximoff was their best friend growing up, all the way through high school, she had a short relationship with James before they all graduated while Y/N met Christine when they were in college. Although they never truly loved Christine how she deserved because their heart belonged to someone else. So their romance was short lived and Y/N went through college having one night stands, no strings attached.
But the moment they came home, Wanda greeted them at the airport, hugging them tightly as she told them about all of the things they had missed.
“Who’s the lucky guy?” They questioned when they noticed the ring on her finger.
“Uh, Jarvis.” She spoke unsurely.
“How did that happen?” They asked her, trying to hide their hurt which Wanda failed to see.
“It was a couple of years ago, we bumped into each other and we got to talking and everything else is history.” She told them. “We also live in an apartment in the city.”
“Oh.” Was all they could say which caught Wanda’s attention.
“Hey, be happy for me.” She told them. “I love him and he has changed.” They just nodded with a tight lipped smile. “He really has.” Once she noticed they weren’t going to say anything, she changed the subject. “When will you know who you play for?” She asked them as they smiled.
“We will find out a couple of months before the season starts.” They told her, a smile on their face which she returned as she held their hand in hers, how they have done it since they were children.
“Are you excited to see everyone again?” She asked as she drove to the Stark’s Mansion.
“I am excited to see my mom and Morgan.” They told her honestly.
“What about your dad? I’m sure he has missed you.” She told them as they shrugged.
“I don’t think so.” They told her. “He never called or even said hello whenever I spoke on the phone with Mom and Morgan.”
“I’m sorry.” She whispered as they shrugged.
“It’s ok.” They told her, a nervous feeling taking over them as they approached home.
“Y/N/N!!” Morgan screamed as soon as they stepped out of Wanda’s car, running straight into them at full speed. “I missed you.” She mumbled as she hugged them tightly.
“I missed you more.” They held her for a moment longer before smiling up at their mom. “Hi mom.” They greeted her as they gave her a sweet hug.
“Come on, let’s head inside.” She told them softly, Morgan taking Wanda’s hand as she dragged her through the house. “Your father and Jarvis are at work if you want to go see them.” She told them as they shrugged.
“I would rather spend the day here with you girls.” They told her honestly, following her into the kitchen.
“He has missed you.” Pepper told them as they just scoffed. “He really has. Your father is a tough man.”
“I know he doesn’t care about me mom, you don’t have to sugar coat it.” They told her.
“Y/N, he loves you.” She told them firmly as they shook their head, a dry chuckle leaving their lips.
“He tolerates me, there’s a difference.” They told her. “He never wanted me to follow my dreams, he never thought I would make it.”
“He just wants what’s best for you.” She told them as they gave her a tight smile.
“I’m going to go and spend some time with Morgan and Wanda.” They told her, giving up on the conversation in regards to their relationship with their father.
“Hi, can I join you?” Y/N asked the two as Morgan nodded.
“But you have to wear a crown because we are princesses.” She told them as she handed them a small plastic crown.
“Don’t you have one with pink diamonds?” They asked her. “Pink brings out my eyes, don’t you think Princess Wanda.”
“Yes.” Wanda chuckled as Morgan swapped crowns with them. Y/N felt at home, spending time with the most important people in their life.
“Everyone has missed you.” Wanda told them as she led them through the bar, holding hands as she soon led them to all of their friends.
“Here they are!!!” Bucky’s voice boomed as he caught sight of the two. Soon wrapping his arms around Y/N and hugging them.
“We’ve missed you.” Nat told them as she pulled them in for a hug.
“I’ve missed you guys.” They beamed as Wanda went to get the two of them something to drink.
“How was life on the west coast?” Steve asked them as they thanked Wanda for the drink.
“It was awesome.” They told them everything from the moment they started their first year of college.
“You see if you’re drafted in a couple of weeks right?” Bucky asked them as they nodded.
“I do.” They rubbed their hands on their bottoms. “I just hope I do get drafted.”
“You were the best Wide Receiver our high school had ever had, you brought us to the state championships each season.” Steve told them. “We know very well that you will be picked.”
“You have always been fast.” Wanda remarked as everyone agreed.
“Thank you.” They smiled before they decided to head over to the bar.
“I'll take it, you know.” Nat told them as she stood beside them.
“I do.” They nodded as they thanked the bartender for their drink. Watching as Nat ordered a couple of shots.
“Why didn’t you ever tell her?” She asked them as they shrugged. “Y/N, you two would have been the perfect couple.”
“But we aren’t.” They told her. “I never told her because I never wanted to lose her. There was always a chance that my feelings weren't reciprocated and I valued our friendship more than anything else in this world.” They took one of the shots and threw it back. “But I only want her to be happy. That’s all I’ve ever wanted and if that’s with Jarvis, then so be it.”
“I have to go.” Wanda told them as soon as the two came back. “Jarvis just messaged and asked where I was.”
“Did you tell him you’re out with friends?” Nat asked her as Wanda nodded.
“He said that he needed me home.” Wanda told them before kissing Y/N’s cheek. “I’ll see you soon.”
“Sure.” They nodded with a small smile, they watched as Wanda disappeared through the crowd towards the exit.
“I really don’t like him.” Bucky mumbled as Y/N nodded with a chuckle.
“I know what you mean.” They agreed, thinking back to their childhood and how he would try his hardest to outshine them at everything, especially when it came to showing interest in the family company.
“Where were you?” Jarvis questioned as soon as Wanda entered their apartment.
“With Y/N, Nat, Steve and Bucky.” Wanda told him. “Everyone wanted to celebrate Y/N coming home, so we went to Jamie’s.”
“Wanda, you know what I think of that place.” He rubbed his temples as her heart beat out of her chest, her nerves slowly taking over her shakey form. “Besides, it’s only Y/N. It isn’t like they matter much.”
“They are my best friend.” She told him firmly.
“Stop living in your childhood.” He told her sternly as he gripped her arms. “You are 22 years old! You aren’t the same teen you were four years ago!” All Wanda could do was nod, sighing as he let go of her arms. “Start dinner. I am famished.” He told her before retreating to their shared room. Releasing a shaky breath before she headed towards the kitchen, she knew that Y/N disliked him for a reason, especially with how he has been with her the past few months. Although, that is something she will never tell anyone, too afraid of what could happen.
Y/N had noticed the past week that Wanda had been distant from them and their friends. So as they were making breakfast, they knew they would visit her.
“Thanks.” Tony mumbled as he grabbed a cup of coffee, barely sparing Y/N a second glance.
“I’m going to see Wanda this morning.” They stated as they finished their coffee.
“What?” Tony questioned.
“She is my best friend.” They reminded him.
“She is Jarvis’s fiancèe.” He pointed out as Y/N nodded.
“I know that, she told me.” They told him firmly.
“I don’t want you to ruin this for your brother.” He told them as he stood up, trying to tower over them. “She is a good woman and I am sure the two would be amazing parents.”
“I’m pretty sure that Wanda isn’t thinking of children just yet.” They reminded him as they grabbed their keys. “They are still young and they aren’t even married yet.” With that Y/N left the house, leaving an irritated Pepper to scold him.
“Please just stop.” Wanda whimpered as Jarvis continued to slap her across the face.
“Seriously Wanda!! Y/N won’t ever give you the life that I will.” He yelled before she kicked him off of her.
“Please just go.” She sobbed as she scrambled to her feet. Trying to grab anything that would help her overpower him.
“Do you seriously think I wouldn’t know what you are hiding from me, from everyone, from yourself?!” He yelled as he started to advance on her again. “I know about your feelings!! I know it very well!!” He raised his hand ready to strike, only to freeze at the sound of a gunshot. The sound made Y/N run towards their apartment, breaking in to find Wanda frozen in place as Jarvis was squirming in pain. They approached her and took the gun from her grasp.
“Run.” They told her firmly. “Leave right now!” They yelled as she soon snapped into reality.
“Oh my god.” She whispered as she looked at Jarvis.
“Leave! NOW WANDA!!!” Y/N yelled at her, just as the sirens were getting closer. Wanda left the apartment, running straight for her friends apartment, knocking on it rapidly.
“Wanda?” Yelena questioned tiredly as she opened the door.
“Is Nat here?” She asked as Yelena let her inside.
“Yeah, she’s just in the shower.” She answered, grabbing Wanda a blanket to cover herself up and a bottle of water.
“Wanda, what happened?” Nat asked as soon as she spotted the brunette sitting on the sofa.
“I shot him.” She whispered as Nat sighed. “I shot Jarvis and Y/N told me to run.”
“What?” Yelena questioned as Nat shook her head with a dry chuckle.
“How could they be so stupid!” She yelled, causing Wanda to flinch. “This will ruin their future, their chance at playing pro.”
“I don’t understand.” Wanda muttered as Nat grabbed her bag and keys.
“Wanda, stay here with Yelena. Do not leave this apartment until I say otherwise.” With that Nat left the two of them.
“Do you think Y/N took the fall?” Wanda questioned as Yelena only nodded.
“They would do anything for you Wanda.” Was all she told the brunette before putting the chain on the door.
“HOW COULD YOU?!” Tony yelled as he sat opposite Y/N who was sitting in handcuffs. “Your own brother!”
“He hasn’t been a brother to me at all!!” Y/N told him, just as angry. “Just as you haven’t been a father to me either!!”
“You’re lucky that I am going to let you rot in here for as long as I can.” He growled as he got in their face. “He is my son!!”
“Yeah, he seems to be your only child, the only one you care about anyway.” They remarked as he was about to hit them.
“Mr Stark, I suggest you leave now or I will be putting you in some fancy bracelets too.” Nat told him firmly as she entered the room, escorting him out before she shut the door behind her. “I need you to tell me why you did it.” She said as she grabbed her pen.
“I already told Captain what's her name, everything” They told her.
“Oh, you broke in to find him hitting his fiancee so you shot him? Not like you could just take him down with sheer force anyway.” She spoke sarcastically. “I want the real story.”
“That is the real story.” They told her.
“Y/N, I am trying to protect you and your future, if you aren’t honest with me, I can’t protect you.” She tried as they just shook their head.
“That is the truth, Detective.” They told her.
“Ok.” She nodded as she rose to her feet. “Captain Carter will come and read you your rights.” With that she left the room, finding out more on Jarvis’s condition before heading home.
“Are they ok?” Wanda asked as soon as Nat walked through the door.
“They are fine.” She told her honestly. “They are keeping to their story, so there isn’t much more that I can do to help.”
“So?” Yelena questioned as Nat took a seat.
“Well, Jarvis is currently in a coma. The bullet had pierced a lung, so he has had to have extensive surgery to repair the damage, but the chances of him waking before the sentencing is rather slim.” She rubbed her brow. “Especially since Mr Stark would want it over as fast as possible.”
“What if I confess? Tell the truth?” Wanda tried as Nat shook her head.
“That won’t work. Not now anyway.” She told her. “The media has already started to leach on the story of sibling rivalry. The press will be sniffing around the hospital, trying to get an update from the doctors or the family. Y/N is already moving to NJ Pen tomorrow morning.”
“So there’s nothing.” Yelena stated as Nat sighed.
“Nothing.” She told them. “They already have a weapon and a confession. Unless Jarvis says otherwise, then everyone will know Y/N to be the one who tried to kill their own brother.”
Wanda was beside herself, with Jarvis remaining in a coma and Y/N being in prison for a crime they didn’t commit. She hated herself, wondering every night how her life had turned into this.
“Are you ok?” Nat asked her as she entered the kitchen.
“Yeah.” Wanda nodded as she stared at the glass of water in her hand.
“Talk to me.” Nat spoke tenderly as Wanda scoffed.
“About what? How my fiancè abused me. He would hit me and call me names or that I shot him in fear of losing my own life and my best friend is taking the fall.” She spoke angrily. “I just wish I knew why they took the blame for something I did.”
“They love you.” Nat told her sincerely. “They have since high school. I can’t exactly tell you the moment they fell in love with you but we could see it whenever they looked at you. They would do anything for you Wanda and it shows.”
“But.” Wanda tried as her eyes filled with tears. “I never knew.” She whispered shakily as Nat gave her a tender smile.
“They never wanted you to know, because they thought you would feel the same.” She told her honestly.
“The draft was last night.” Wanda mentioned. “They never got picked.”
“Well, the managers would have gotten wind of the shooting and the trial.” Nat spoke honestly. “So that would have definitely made sure they never made it.”
“I hate this.” Wanda whispered as she rubbed her brow. “I hate how this whole thing has turned out.”
“You have a visitor.” The guard told Y/N as they kicked them awake.
“What?” They grumbled as they stirred.
“Visitor!” The guard yelled as they grabbed them, dragging them through the corridor towards the visiting quarters.
“Mom?” Y/N murmured as they saw Pepper sitting at the otherside of the glass, watching as Y/N picked up the phone.
“Why did you do it?” She questioned as Y/N sighed.
“I already told the police everything, I’m sure that Tony had already gotten a copy of my statement.” Y/N told her coldly.
“You know what I mean.” She told them firmly. “I know you didn’t do it, I just want to know why you are lying to everyone and putting your future at risk.”
“I can’t discuss this with you mom.” They told her sternly.
“Just tell me!” She yelled, gaining the attention of the others. “Jarvis could wake and tell the truth.”
“I doubt he would if he finds out that I will be serving time here.” They told her. “He hated me, he hated me because my dreams strayed away from what the Stark name was famous for.”
“You know that’s not true.” Pepper told them.
“You know what you just said is a lie.” Y/N told her. “Neither Dad or Jarvis attended any of my games to support me. They were too busy with something to do with the company. The only people who thought and believed I would make it pro weren’t even blood related.”
“Y/N.” Pepper tried as Y/N shook their head.
“Just leave it mom. Don’t come back here to visit, it will only hurt you more.” They told her firmly. “Besides, Morgan will need you now, more than ever.” She watched as Y/N was dragged back through the doors towards their cell, her heart breaking at the sight of the aggressiveness the guards were showing towards them.
Jarvis remained in the coma, even after Y/N was sentenced for 20 years imprisonment. Wanda had already returned the ring to Pepper, telling her that she was ending things with Jarvis, of course Pepper had no objections, knowing the kind of man her son grew up to be.
“Wanda, you need to eat.” Nat told her as she handed her a PB&J.
“I’m not hungry.” Wanda whispered as she placed the plate on the table.
“Look, I know this is hard right now.” Nat tried as Wanda chuckled lightly.
“You have no idea!” Wanda spat. “Y/N is serving almost a life sentence because of a crime they didn’t commit!! They are doing that for me!!.”
“Because they love you!” Nat shouted. “Look, I understand that this is so freaking hard right now, but they need us all more than ever right now. So if you want more answers, go and visit them!”
With that, Wanda knew exactly what she needed to do. Deciding to make an appointment to visit them, needing to hear the truth from them herself.
When the day came around, she gasped as she saw the cuts and bruises on their face. Picking up the phone as she reached for their face, only to be disappointed by the cold glass.
“What happened to you?” She questioned firstly making Y/N chuckle.
“It looks worse than it is.” They told her, a gentle smile on their face. “How are you? Nat told me about ending the engagement.”
“I am ok.” Wanda told them. “I am just worried about you and rightfully so.”
“I’m fine, I promise.” They told her as she shook her head. “I know being here is a little rough, but it is better me being here than you.”
“Y/N, why did you do it? Take the fall for me?” She asked them.
“If you had to ask me that, then you don’t really know me at all.” They told her.
“I do know, believe me, I do, but I want to hear it from you.” She told them. “I deserve that at least.”
“Wanda.” They tried before she cut them off.
“Just tell me! Please!” She pleaded with them, earning a sigh in response.
“I did it for love.” They told her. “Because I love you and I have always loved you forever.” She watched as they looked down. “I know you won’t ever feel the same and I made peace with that years ago. So please just leave here and don’t come back. Move on with your life ok.”
“No.” She shook her head as Y/N nodded.
“You deserve to live your life Wanda.” They told her. “Please just live it and forget about me.”
“No.” She tried once more, the tears falling as she shook her head.
“Yes Wanda.” They told her. “Goodbye my love.” She watched as they walked away, not even sparing her a second glance as they left.
“What?” Nat questioned as she picked up a devastated Wanda, listening to her as she tried to explain everything. The next thing Nat decided to do was get onto their lawyer. Wanda listened as best as she could before Nat finished the call. “They’ve requested for their own visitation rights to be terminated.” She informed Wanda.
“What?!” She yelled as Nat nodded, rubbing her forehead. “They can’t do that.”
“They can Wanda.” Nat told her. “And they have done that, we just have to respect their wishes.”
“But I love them Nat.” Wanda told her. “I do and I can’t go 20 years without seeing them or hearing their voice.”
“We will have to Wanda.” Nat told her. “It’s just 20 years right.” She tried as Wanda sighed. “Look, we can’t do anything Wanda, maybe write to them. Maybe they will read your letters but just respect their decision, that is all I am asking of you.”
The first year was extremely hard on her, she struggled to write to them, struggling to find the words to say until she just started to pour out the words that came from her heart.
Dear Y/N,
I know it’s already been a year without seeing you, and believe me, it has been the hardest year of my life and I know I have 19 more to go. I know that sounds incredibly selfish but I get to be selfish right now because the one person who I have always had in my corner regardless doesn’t want to see me, and that hurts me so fucking much.
I just need you to know that I miss you every damn day.
Love Wanda
Dear Y/N
I still haven’t received any confirmation that you have received my other letters, because I haven’t really received anything from you. I got myself a new apartment, in that building we both always admired when we were younger. I know it’s a bit pricey but I have plenty in my savings, and life is short so I may have splurged. I was also promoted at work, you are now looking at the new Head of Trauma at NY Pres. You always said I would make it and I did.
I just hope you’re ok and I want to know that you are safe at least.
Love Wanda
Dear Y/N
It’s been five years now. I have sent letters every week for five years. I have even tried to move on and I can’t. Well, I never really told you the truth, I love you. I am in love with you. I should have told you before but I was scared of losing you. I know that seems funny now because I have lost you. Well, it feels like I’ve lost you because you won’t talk to me.
I have lost the biggest supporter and the love of my life and that hurts. I lost you because of a mistake that I had made and you won’t talk to me, but I guess you have your own reasons for the distance between us.
Love Wanda
Y/N placed the recent letter in the pillowcase with all of the others she had sent, sitting on their bed as they waited for the food call.
“Who is this Wanda chick?” Brock questioned as he jumped down beside his cellmate.
“She was a friend.” They answered shortly.
“You have been here for five years and you still haven’t told us much about you, other than you’re a Stark.” He smirked as they shrugged.
“There’s not much to tell.” They murmured as Brock chuckled manically.
“That doesn’t sit well with me.” He sneered as Y/N shrugged. “You have another fifteen years left here, you have no visitors which tells me that no one really cares whether you live or die.” As soon as the cell opened he pushed past them. “Watch your back, Stark.” Little did he know that that was the last time he would speak to Y/N, the last time he would see them as he lay cold on the floor with a shiv in his neck as a riot took over the cell block.
AN:: There will be a part 2 guys. Thank you all for the likes and the reblogs, it means a lot to me.

Asked And Answered - Luke Newton
Word count: 1237
Summary: When questions are being asked, the only thing left to do is answer, no?
Tumblr media
"Hi, y/n! Thank you for having us here. Do you mind if we come in and ask a few questions?"
"Oh hi! No, not at all, come on in." you smiled, closing the door and leading Joe Sabia through the hallway of your house.
"How did you get into acting? Was it something you always wanted to do?" he asked, following you into your living room.
"Well, I have always loved performing. When I was a kid, I used to put on plays for my family in our living room. But it wasn't until high school that I got into acting."
You took your cup of coffee from your coffee table, turning off your TV.
"Tell us about your journey to becoming an actress?"
"Well, it wasn't easy. I auditioned for countless roles and faced a lot of rejection. But I never gave up and finally got my big break in an amazing Netflix show called Bridgerton."
You smiled at the male taking a sip from your coffee, opening your blinds, and inviting in the sunlight.
"How did you land the role of y/c/n in Bridgerton?" The man questioned.
"It's quite a funny story. I was in the middle of filming for a different project when I received a call from Chris Van Dusen about an audition for a new period drama." You chuckled.
"At first, I was indecisive as I had never done a period piece before, but my agent convinced me to give it a go. So, I went for the audition, and the rest, as they say, is history."
"Speaking of Bridgerton, you act alongside your boyfriend, Luke Newton. Can you tell us more about that?" The interviewer followed you toward your kitchen.
"Yes, we're always together but we try our best to hold our distance on set, but we know each other so well, which made filming even more fun and natural." You answered, tearing off a piece of paper from the
tear-off calendar.
"What was your favorite scene to film in Bridgerton?"
"That's a tough one as I genuinely enjoyed every scene. However, I think my favorite would have to be the ballroom scene where Colin and y/c/n share their first dance." You placed your cup of coffee in the sink and took a bottle of water from the fridge.
"Are you both supporters of each other's careers?" he asked, walking behind you towards the dining room.
"Absolutely. We both understand the demands of this industry and always support and motivate each other," you say, shoving one of the chairs under the table.
"Can you tell us about your first date?" The male asked.
"Our first date was funny. We went to a Mexican restaurant, and I accidentally spilled my entire and very expensive margarita on his lap, but we look back on it and laugh now." You chuckled, leaning your arms on the chair.
"What is one thing that you're obsessed with at the moment?"
"Commenting on fans their fanart, they're incredibly talented." You said, opening the door towards your master bedroom.
"If you had a podcast what would it be called?" Joe asked, stepping into the room.
"Dearest Listeners, as a wink to Lady Whistledown." You replied while adjusting the sheets on the bed. "And Nicola Coughlan."
"what's your favorite playlist you have?"
"Romancing Mr. Newton, sorry not sorry." You laughed, leaving your master bedroom.
"what song have you had on repeat for the past few weeks?" The man asked.
"Spinning out, waiting for ya to pull me in" you softly sang, walking towards your bathroom before looking behind you. "Satellite by Harry Styles."
"what's the hardest thing you ever had to do for a role?"
"Learning how to dance a Quadrille without stepping on my dancing partner's toes." You snorted, closing the bathroom door that was still open.
"do you ever get nervous when being on set?"
"Of course, it means you care and you want to do it good." You shrugged at the man, walking to your walk-in closet.
"Who is your go-to person when you need to talk to someone?"
"Ruth Gemmell, Mother Bridgerton, really knows how to comfort you." You smiled, walking into the room that was filled with clothes and shoes.
"how many awards do you own?"
"One Academy Award for Best Actress, One Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, and an Oscar for Best Actress," you replied while inspecting your dresses.
"What is something that recently moved you?" Joe asked
"Last month, Luke and I had a chat with a fan in London and spoke about how essential Mental Health is, that truly touched me." You strode out of your walk-in closet and shut the door behind Joe.
“Who is the most famous person on your phone?”
"Meryl Streep? Taylor Swift? Both?" You slightly laughed, pushing the screen of the smart thermometer in the house.
“what's your favorite time of the day?”
"Nighttime, just silence and quality time, it's heaven." You opened the door to your home office.
“Vintage or new?” The male asked.
"Vintage," you answered as you sat down behind your desk.
“What are three things you can’t live without?”
"Acting, friends, and Luke." You leaned back in your chair, smiling at the man.
“When was the last time you were starstruck?”
"I'd say, the table read for Bridgerton, season 3." You said, getting up from the chair and getting out of the room.
“Best gift you’ve ever received?”
"All of this, Bridgerton, everyone I got to know, the fans." You answered, adjusting a painting that hung in the hallway.
“Best advice you’d give your teenage self?” He asked`
"Dare to take the risk, no matter how scary it may seem." walking into your home theatre, you took a seat on one of the huge pillows.
“What’s your wakeup ritual?”
"Sunny weather, the smell of coffee, and a lot of food." You chuckled, running a hand through your hair.
“who’s someone you’d like to work with again on set?"
"There's no good answer to that, anyone from the Bridgerton family." you got up from the chair and walked towards the giant black screen.
“What’s your current TV obsession?”
"The Originals." You smiled, walking out of the room.
“Rate your met gala outfit 1 to 10.”
"A decent 9." You winked at the camera, coming to a halt in the hallway. "You will see."
“Do you have a favorite room in your house?”
"I surely do! Let me show you." You walked up to the black-colored door, revealing your wine cellar.
“you have 4.2M followers on Instagram, is there something you'd like to say to them,”  Joe asked, while you were inspecting the dusty bottles of wine.
"Never think twice when you want to do something, take a leap of faith." You wiped off the dust from the bottle and placed it back.
“Have you ever googled yourself?”
"Multiple times, the first time was when Bridgerton was being released." You answered, getting closer to your garage.
“Diamonds or pearls?” Joe asked
"Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" You winked at the camera, chuckling to yourself.
“Favorite accent to do?”
"British, everything just sounds better in British," you answered, opening your garage gate, and stepping outside in the sun.
"Then this was all we've wanted to ask you today, thank you for having us, Y/n."
"Thank you for being here today." you waved one last time at the man before closing your garage gate.

| A Spike of Uncertainty |
tetsuro kuroo x f!reader
The first time Kuroo saw you was when he noticed you sitting with Kenma, happily playing video games together. He would have been lying if he said he wasn’t surprised when Kenma mentioned he had made a friend on the first day of the new school year. He didn’t share much about you, but Kuroo knew you had just transferred to Nekoma High and somehow you had piqued his interest.
warnings/notes: highschool romance, fluff, slight angst, I do NOT write fanfictions or storys normally, this is a first, so I am generally sorry for everything. CRINGE. def will be cringe in some parts. I'm a big sucker for Kuroo, him and Kenma may be ooc but I don't care this is my silly story and I just need to get it out of my head so I can finally write my Master's Thesis in peace. Also, english is not my first language. This has been "proofread" by my friends (who are also non-native speakers, enjoy).

“No way!” Kenma snatched Kuroo's DS from you the second you took it out of your bag. You wanted to protest, but before you could say anything, the Animal Crossing tune started playing, “I've been dying to see Kuro’s Village since we left elementary school.”
“Kenma, give it back,” you reached out to grab the DS, but Kenma effortlessly dodged, his eyes already glued to the screen. The familiar chimes of Animal Crossing filled the space between you two, and Kenma’s expression softened into one of pure focus. “I’ve been waiting for this moment,” he murmured, barely noticing your frustration. “Kuroo’s always bragged about his village, and I finally get to see it.” His fingers moved deftly across the buttons. But before Kenma could navigate from the menu into the game, you knew how he would react. He took a deep breath and sighed. You mentally prepared yourself for the look of disappointment on his face.
“You started a new game?” His voice was emotionless, even more so than usual. Normally, he would be glaring angrily at you right now, but he continued to stare blankly at the top screen.
“Kuroo said it was okay.” You tried to placate Kenma, but each of your excuses was just silently dismissed. Even your remarks about how unspectacular Kuroo's village was and how he hadn't missed anything couldn't appease him. Kenma's day, maybe this whole week, was ruined.
Before you could dwell on Kenma’s disappointment any longer, the classroom door slid open, and Kuroo's voice cut through the tense atmosphere. “Hey, you two ready?” He strolled in, his usual confident grin plastered on his face. Kenma barely looked up from the DS, still brooding over the lost village.
Kuroo noticed the device in Kenma’s hands and chuckled. “Let me guess, you’re mad because Y/N-Chan wiped out my Animal Crossing legacy?” Kenma gave a slight nod, but Kuroo just shrugged it off. “No worries, Kenma. You’ve got bigger things to focus on now, like making sure we crush it at practice today.”
Kuroo turned his attention to you, his grin softening. “Glad you’re coming to watch us. We could use a good luck charm on the sidelines after the training break.” There was a slight blush creeping up his neck, and you felt your own cheeks warm in response.
“I’m just here to make sure you don’t slack off, Kuroo,” you teased back, trying to ignore the flutter in your chest.
“Is that so?” Kuroo leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a mock-serious tone. “I’ll have to make sure I show off a bit, after all. Don’t want to disappoint our special guest.”
Kenma finally tore his gaze from the DS, rolling his eyes at the exchange. “Can we just go already?”
“Right, right,” Kuroo said, straightening up but sending you one last playful wink. “Let’s get going.” Together, you left the classroom and made your way to practice.
After the two boys had changed, you entered the gym with them. Some of the boys on the court turned around curiously as you walked in. Kuroo raised a hand in greeting but kept his pace brisk, leading you straight to the others. “Hey guys,” he called out, a slight edge in his voice, “this is Y/N, Kenma's new classmate. She’s watching today.”
All eyes were on you now, and you could feel a slight wave of nervousness creeping in. Before you could fully process it, a small boy with a friendly smile broke away from the group and approached you. “Hey, nice to meet you! I’m Yaku,” he said, extending his hand warmly. “Don’t worry, we don’t bite.”
You smiled shyly, about to reply, but Kuroo quickly stepped forward, a subtle frown crossing his face as he swiftly pulled you away from Yaku. “Come on, Y/N-Chan, I’ll introduce you to the rest,” he said, his tone a bit more forceful than before. As he led you around, you could sense a slight tension in his posture.
The rest of the introductions went smoothly, and everyone greeted you with smiles, clearly welcoming you warmly despite not actually being part of the team. However, you couldn’t help but notice the way Kuroo’s gaze flickered back to Yaku more than once, his irritation barely hidden.
“You can sit over there,” Kuroo pointed to the bleachers, his voice softening again as he directed you. “That’s the best place to see everything.” And with everything he mainly meant himself.
“And if you have any questions, just let me know!” Yaku called out with a grin as he started to warm up with the others.
Kuroo shot a quick glance in Yaku’s direction, a slight crease forming between his brows before he turned back to you. “Just relax and enjoy the show,” he said, though his smile seemed a bit tighter than before.
Despite the slight tension, you immediately felt more comfortable. The guys were all nice and open, and it was clear they were a strong team that supported each other.
“Y/N, want to practice a few passes with me?” Yaku ran up to you after a few minutes with a ball in his hand, “we're an odd number of players and I thought just watching would get boring.” On any other team you would agree with Yaku, but here you had a good opportunity to watch Kuroo for a longer time without it being weird. Nevertheless, you accepted the offer with a smile. It felt good to be actively involved in the group.
The passes that Yaku tossed to you were pretty easy but you didn’t complain, he probably didn't want to overwhelm you. Besides, you were still able to look over at Kuroo a few times, who was practicing with Kenma and seemed to be talking to him on the side. “You're pretty good,” Yaku praised you after a few rallies. “Thanks, my friends at my old school actually played volleyball too. They always persuaded me to train, a bit like Kuroo and you now, although they hit much rougher balls than you do.”
Every now and then, Kuroo would give you a look, as if to make sure you were having fun. And every time you returned his gaze, you felt a slight tingle. Contrary to your expectations Kuroo was actually looking at you and Yaku because he wanted to make sure you weren't having too much fun with the Libero. “Man, I wish I'd gotten the idea of practicing with Y/N-chan.” He clasped his hands behind his head and Kenma's pass flew right over him.
“I didn't think I'd ever have to tell you this but Kuro... Focus.” Annoyed, Kenma went to fetch the ball only to hit it over his inattentive captain's head again immediately afterwards.
“I don't get it, she's not even his type.” You were in fact not Yakus type but he saw the opportunity to unsettle Kuroo and took it.
“Then you don't have to worry about it.” Kenma sighed, retrieved the ball and started to serve, but stopped in motion. He mustered a glance at Kuroo, who was still staring over at you and Yaku, clearly distracted. He couldn’t remember the last time he had seen his captain so unsure during practice, especially over something—or rather, someone—like this. Usually, Kuroo was the one pulling the team together, his sharp eyes always on the game, on strategy. But now? Now, he was missing passes that even first-years wouldn’t let slip by.
Kenma sighed internally. “I told you you'd be annoying about it,” he muttered under his breath, just loud enough for Kuroo to hear.
Kuroo snapped his attention back to Kenma, blinking as if coming out of a daze. “What do you mean? I’m not being annoying.”
“You're not? You’re letting balls fly right past you,” Kenma pointed out dryly. “And you keep staring at Y/N like she’s going to disappear if you don’t.”
Kuroo rubbed the back of his neck, a sheepish grin forming on his face. “I’m just... making sure she’s comfortable, you know? It's her first time here with us. Gotta be a good captain.”
Kenma rolled his eyes, his usual indifferent tone laced with a hint of sarcasm. “Yeah, sure. That's what this is about.”
Kuroo dropped his hand, letting out a small huff. “I just didn’t expect to see her getting along with Yaku so easily, okay? It’s... different.”
“You’re overthinking it,” Kenma said, tossing the ball lightly at Kuroo. “She’s here, she’s having fun. And she’s not going anywhere, unless you keep acting weird and scare her off.”
Kuroo caught the ball, looking at it for a second before letting out a small laugh. “You’re right, I’m being ridiculous.”
Kenma gave a rare, almost imperceptible smile. “Yeah, you are. Now, I never thought I would say this, but can we please get back to practice?”
Kuroo nodded, the tension easing out of his shoulders. He tossed the ball back to Kenma, a more focused look settling on his face. “Alright, let’s do this. No more distractions.”
Kenma gave him a final, pointed look before serving the ball. “Good. And maybe try not to look like a lost puppy for the rest of the day.”
Kuroo chuckled, positioning himself for the next pass. “I’ll try my best.”
With that, the easy rhythm of their movements returned as Kuroo finally managed to push his thoughts aside. He couldn’t help but glance over at you one last time, just to see you smile as you hit another one of Yaku’s passes. But this time, when he looked back at Kenma, he was met with a raised eyebrow that clearly said, Focus.
In the two weeks since that first practice, you’d found yourself at the gym nearly every day. What started as an excuse to hang out with Kenma and Kuroo had quickly become routine—afternoons spent watching practice, evenings split between studying with Kuroo or gaming with Kenma. It felt natural, like you’d always been part of their rhythm.
One evening, after the team had left, you and Kenma sat outside on a bench, waiting for Kuroo to finish his meeting with the coaches. Kenma, having switched from his PSP to an old DS—thanks to you snagging Kuroo’s—was quietly immersed in another game. The only sounds were the occasional soft beeps from the device or the quiet laugh you’d share when one of you messed up. It was a peaceful kind of waiting, the murmur of voices from the gym a distant background to your silence.
Kenma didn’t say much, as usual, but every now and then he’d glance at you out of the corner of his eye, as if he knew something was on your mind.
When Kuroo finally emerged, he looked directly at Kenma, who hadn’t even noticed his best friend approaching. “We’re going on a trip next week. Coach Nekomata has organized a training match with a team from a high school in Miyagi. Karasuno, I think.”
You nearly choked on your iced tea when Kuroo mentioned the name, startled out of your thoughts. Fortunately, he didn’t notice, too focused on Kenma as he rambled about old rivals, crows, cats, and a ‘dumpster battle.’ You weren’t sure if you’d heard correctly or if the choking had thrown off your hearing, but it all sounded a bit dramatic.
Kenma’s gaze slowly shifted to you, his eyebrows narrowing slightly in thought. “Miyagi? Isn’t that your former prefecture, Y/N?”
As Kenma said your name, Kuroo finally turned to look at you too. Your throat still tickled from the sugary drink, so you just nodded, pressing your lips together.
“Is it?” Kuroo teased with a grin. “Wouldn’t it be funny if you went to Karasuno?”
You managed a nervous smile, “Yeah, wouldn’t that be funny?”

1st person POV
I was walking down streets on my way to my work, like I do every single day. The large amount of people on the street got me a bit nervous, but I learned to pretend that they didn't exist.
The huge building where I work seems small when I enter through the automatic door and go to my even smaller office. I took my earphones and turned the radio on in my city’s broadcasting station. “.... and we're gonna rock this town, like we always do.” The voice that I heard sounded a bit familiar, but I couldn't tell who it was, 'cause of the noise from poor radio contact.
I tried harder to listen to what he’ll say, but he had already  finished the interview and the announcer said “Guys, that was Frank Iero telling us what we can expect from the My Chemical Romance concert next week. Thank you, Frank!”
I got shocked. Why wasn't I able to recognize Frank's voice? It's been that long?
Frank and I met at high school in our freshman year. We became best friends in about three months. Earlier than we expected, we were hanging out and holding hands. He was the best part of my highschool, probably because I was the most introverted person in the world, he is the opposite. Frank encouraged me to go to parties with him, to be less insecure, to be myself… I owe him all the chances I haven't let go since.
So, like all good things, we were over. He is a famous guitarist, touring through the whole world with his band, and I'm here. I went to college and became exactly what I wanted since I was a kid.
We were immature and broke up at the first trouble we had, we’ve been together for six years, and knew each other enough to know that we couldn’t handle a long distance relationship. Without any fight or discussion, we decided that was the end, and just didn’t talked anymore to not turn things harder than they almost were.
Moving on took me a few years, but no one of the people that I dated after Frank made me feel the way he did. Maybe we’re some kind of "meant to be'', and we threw our chance away, giving up that easy.
The idea of Frank being here gave me the sensation of butterflies in my stomach, should i talk to him? No. I mean, I would like to see him, ask him if he thinks of me like I think of him. Maybe he's still trying to forget about us but incapable to do it, just like me.
I gave a brief look to the clock on the wall and noticed that I spent an hour just thinking of Frank, remembering our best moments. And just when I thought I reached the bottom, I felt a tear dripping down my face.
With my sleeve, I wiped that single tear in my cheek and keeped working.
The rest of the day was gray, the color of the clouds coincidently matched with my feelings. At home, I dropped myself in my bed and turned the tv on, with a desperate yearn to keep my mind out of my old memories. In a few minutes I fell asleep.
*** time skip ***
Next day, I decided that I would enjoy myself in some cool place. So at 9pm I put on my best clothes and went to my favorite bar. The place still the same since the last time i went there
The low lights inside the bar almost made me stumble but I held on to the door before falling.
Like always, the place was crowded and the mix of people talking and the small band who were playing reminded me why I definitely prefer to stay at home instead of going out. Don’t get me wrong, the band was good, I only hate this amount of noise.
I took a seat by the side of a group of four men, but it was too dark to see their faces. I avoided looking at any of them for a long time, so it wouldn't look like I was flirting or something.
    - Hey! It's been a long time since the last time you’ve been here. - I used to come here so often that I became friends with the bartender - How’s it going?
   - Great i think, just a bit down this week. - I tell him, with a heavy sight - But I'm here to relax, so, gimme the same as always.
   - Right away, dear!
The bartender called my name after some minutes to give me my drink, and I felt the back of my neck burn, like I was being watched. Slowly, I turned around and the four guys were looking at me. My eyes, now accustomed with the dim place, could recognize their faces. I forgot how to breathe when I realized who they were.
  - Holy shit! I thought I heard your voice, but then I thought that I was getting insane - The man closer to me said, and a silly smile appeared on my face. - You remember me, right, darling?
    - How could I forget you, Frank? - I took a sip of my drink, still smiling. - And, believe me, I tried so fucking hard to.
    - So do I…
He took a deep breath and his gaze showed that he missed me as much as I missed him.
    - When he knew that we’ll be doing some concerts here, he started to talk about you and didn’t stop - Ray said, giggling, while Frank gave him a deathly look. - Well, good to see you again, by the way!
    - Same, guys! - I looked at all of them and nodded, drinking again. - Eight years is too long, but at the same time it seems like it was just a week ago.
    - Ain’t that the truth? Damn! - Frank didn’t stop to look at me as of the beginning of the conversation. If he keeps doing this, I'll end up kissing him. - You’re pretty as always. ya know?
My world just tumbled down with his sentence. He used to say this daily to me, in the same way. I gasped and, just like a movie, I saw him, a sixteen boy sitting by my side at the school’s refectory saying this to me for the first time.
Ray, Gerard and Mikey walked away to the other side of the bar and Frank stood up when I didn’t respond. Unable to say anything, I just looked at his hazel eyes and felt him getting closer. The feeling of panic washed my body with the sensation of his lips on mine. His hands runned through my body and his tongue entwined in mine.
All this eight fucking years trying to get over him, and he made all of this be in vain. I missed his touch more than I could even imagine.
I lost my fingers in his hair and when we both were breathless, we pulled up and just looked at each other.
    - Shit, how I missed you! - Frank said, holding my waist. - Wanna take a walk outside?
    - Sure.
We walked at the door, letting all the noise behind. The cold air of the night reached my face and I shivered, my mind was so confused that I barely noticed that Frank was holding my hand.
    - So… I don't even know how to start to say how much I regret leaving you.
He was looking down, and I've never heard him so serious before.
    - You didn’t leave me. It was consensual.
    - Yeah, but.. but I blame myself every day for not insisting on continuing with you. - He whined with an evident remorse in his voice. The regretful tone of his sigh was painful for me to hear.
    - Wasn’t your fault, Frank. We were both immature. - I let go of his hand and put my arm around his neck, in an attempt to comfort him. I wish someone had told me the same thing I said to Frank. After he’s gone I felt as guilty as him, and it lasted all these years. - Altrought we can try again, ‘cause we made it clear to each other that we still have mutual feelings.
    - You’re right, but how is this gonna work? - We stopped walking and Frank looked at me. His confused gaze turned sad and worried as the next words left his mouth.  - You have your life here, and my music is my life so…
   - Maybe we can try that long distance thing… - A little unsure of what he would think of the idea, I tried to accept the only possible option for our situation. - Seeing each other when you were not on a tour, spending holidays together, calling and texting each other every day...
    - Sounds like an idea to me.
He smiled and pulled me closer to a kiss, this time i wasn’t worried about all that shit. I let the moment ride me and a hopeful sensation warmed my body even more than Frank’s hands on my face and hips. I felt on fire when the kiss turned deeper.
    - Are you sure that you wanna try to do this? - I broke the kiss for an instant.
    - I’m on there, baby!

Summer Love <3 (Alhaitham x reader Modern AU)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
❦ Warnings: mentions of lack of self confidence(only like once)
❥ Genre: Fluff, romance <3
❥ Word Count: 2,831
❦ Synopsis: Your bestie Yoimiya begged you to go to a summer camp down in Sumeru with her. You were hesitant, at first. But who would've thought a summer camp changed your love life forever...
a/n: Hellooooo!!! This little fic is inspired by my own experience during summer camp. I had a couple "summer camp crushes" and this is kinda of what I fantasied of doing ehehehe. I apologize in advance about the possible grammar/spelling mistakes. Sorry if any sentences doesn't make sense. I'm still trying to learn more about writing! I am also trying out a new format. Please give me any suggestions!
Tumblr media
Your best friend begged you to go to a summer camp down in Sumeru with her. You were hesitant, you wanted this summer to be relaxing for once. Go wherever you pleased, and do whatever you wanted. But her sparkling puppy eyes are working far better than you expected and you relented.
“Pleaseeeee, y/n!!! I know you’re not that interested in ancient runes or whatever. Who knows, you might find a cute guy there! I heard Sumeru boys are a different breed! Plus, it’s at the Akademiya, THE top university in all of Teyvat. You know, your dream school. Maybe this trip there will send a message into the universe to make you get into your dream school!” Dammit Yoimiya, no wonder she’s your best friend, she sure knows the way to your heart.
....................
After a long boat ride from Inazuma to Port Ormos, you were greeted by lush green grass, warm humid air, and the pungent smell of Padisarahs. A little melody sung by a bird attracted your attention. A Sumeru Dusk Bird. Its vibrant blue feathers gleaming in the sunlight due to the natural oil produced by the animal. The song is both simple and complex, and it stays with you long after you have heard it. Many, like your mother, may find the sound produced by the bird as a nuisance, overly screeching and loud. But you think otherwise, to you, nature is art in its most natural form. Both held complexity and simplicity in its form. Both evoke deep emotions within you.
The trip from Port Ormos to Sumer City wasn’t too long. But upon arriving, you couldn’t hold the gasp of admiration upon seeing the city before you. Sumeru, the city of wonder. Where nature and cityscapes blend seamlessly. Skyscrapers that reach the sky are embellished with green, lush plants. Trees stood tall and proud, shading the bustling citizens beneath.
You took a deep breath and smiled, this unexpected trip to Sumeru might be a good one.
....................
That’s where you meet him. The grey haired quiet dude from your Ancient runes summer camp council group.
The first day you arrived at summer camp, you were enchanted. Sure, boys from back home were nice, but ohhhhhhh boy. Yoimiya was right, Sumeru boys are something else. You couldn’t help but feel all giddy when it was announced that he would be in your little council group with Yoymiya. Gosh, it felt embarrassing almost. You just learned the guy’s name, Alhaitham, after a little icebreaker and introduction. Hell, the two of you only have been breathing in the same room for merely 10 minutes. He was a total stranger, and you were totally crushing on him. You can’t help but feel shallow.
Kudos to Yoimiya, she read you like an open book. The moment Alhaitham walked into the room she gave you a sultry glance. She knew your type well. When lunch time came, she made it her life mission to find a way to make you sit with Alhaitham. That “life mission” was extremely easy to accomplish. All she had to do was befriend Kaveh, who was introduced as Alhaitham’s childhood best friend, another hottie in Yoymiya’s opinion.
♡ The Akademiya cafeteria is a large, open space with high ceilings and coloured lights shining through ancient stained glass windows. The noise level is deafening, with the sound of hundreds of students talking, laughing, and eating. The combination of strangers and loudness was making you lose your appetite. You watched Yoimiya, Kaveh, and a couple of new acquaintances chatting animatedly, and you felt a pang of jealousy. Not of Yoimiya but of the conversation they’re having; your introverted ass can’t hold a proper conversation with a stranger for 2 minutes, and here is your best buddy beaming at something stupid Kaveh said. Sometimes it makes you think you bore Yoimiya. Sighing, you sneak a glance at Alhaitham sitting across from you, he has a handsome face with a strong jawline, and high cheekbones. His porcelain skin made his turquoise eyes shimmer in the light. The deep glow of red-orange hue near his pupil creates a contrast that reminded you of the unison of the forest and desert in Sumeru. You watched his eyes move to absorb every single word in the book he was holding…you were getting butterflies, but the butterflies plummeted when those eyes flicker to yours. You quickly averted your gaze towards Yoyimya and Kaveh, the heat of embarrassment painted your cheeks a cheery red. You promised yourself that you were not shallow, and you vowed that you’re not a hopeless romantic.
The next few days were filled with teasing from Yoimiya and Kaveh (that freaking girl couldn’t keep her mouth shut). The two of them made sure you and Alhaitham sat together at all times. Yoimiya went as far as refusing to partner with you during activities in order for you and Alhaitham to work together. As you become acquainted with Alhaitham more, he becomes more comfortable with you. He’s not stupid, he notices all the shy glances and blushing cheeks when the two of you are together. Especially the obnoxious, oh-so not obvious suggestions made by Kaveh. To be honest, he’s not new to this behavior from women. The guy knows he’s attractive and he has been on various blind dates orchestrated by Kaveh himself (Alhaitham only relented on the condition Kaveh would stop pestering him about it). At first, Alhaitham wasn’t quite interested. He found your seemingly “secretive” glances rather uncomfortable, annoying even. But what piqued his interest is your love for physics and Astrophysics. Alhaitham is quite well-versed in this field, and this is the first time he has heard anyone claiming the want to pursue physics.
♡ “Y/n. It’s your turn now, two truths and one lie.”  “Well, I had thought about this for a while now. Ahem— I choked on a peach pit as a baby and nearly died. I want to have a career in Astrophysics or a major in physics. I have a pet tarantula named Benny boy,” Yoimiya let out a loud laugh upon hearing your statement about the spider, “and Yoimiya is not allowed to answer.” The girl gave you a teasing grin and pursed her lips. After your group failed to answer correctly, you gave them the lie: You had a pet tarantula named Benny Boy. You were deathly afraid of spiders, if you had a personal hell, it would be filled with those nasty creatures.  As your council group walked towards the courtyard for recreation time, Alhaitham surprisingly struck up a conversation with you.  “You said you’re interested in studying physics?” “Oh yes, it’s rather a new interest that I’ve decided to pursue only recently. After the whole being an actress thing fell apart”  “Hmmm, and you said you want a career in Astrophysics?” You were surprised he even paid attention to what you said. You nodded in response.  “Well, I have a family member that teaches Astrophysics at the Akademiya, if you’re really interested, I could introduce you to them.” Alhaitham offered, while opening the courtyard gate for you.  “Oh heavens really? That would be great!” You smiled at him. Goddamn, that smile of yours caught him off guard. Your smile was like the sun, warm and inviting. It lit up your face and made the excitement in your eyes sparkle. After finding a seat by a marble bench under a giant Adhigama tree, the two of you converse all there is about physics and your interests, from string-theory to philosophy to art, Alhaitham never met someone so knowledgeable and opinionated about some of his favorite subjects.
After that late afternoon little discussion under the Adhigama tree, you and Alhaitham opened up to each other. Hell, you even started to make some physics jokes with him. Celestia must’ve placed a curse on him, because he started to look forward to talking to somebody, he wanted to talk to you, he wanted to be with you. Yeah shocker, the seemingly antisocial genius wanted to talk to a girl. What’s even worse for Alhaitham, is that he started to feel nervous being around you. He was never nervous around anybody, whether it’s strangers or the freaking Grand Sage, he never felt this strange fluttering in his stomach. What’s even more uncanny for him is that he found himself staring at you on multiple occasions. When a conversation ends, he would usually return to his books, but since he met you, he started to leave his books in his dorm. This way, he could listen to your voice, and see you smile. This has to be some curse, Alhaitham thought, he even tried to convince himself that you’re not all that great. But those are just futile attempts, there was something enigmatic about you. It’s hard to notice for the common eyes, some might even describe you as plain and average. But with Alhaitham’s sagacious eyes, he could see right to your soul. Alhaitham was bewitched, you’re the one that placed this curse of infatuation (perhaps even love) upon him. Through all the secret glances and “accidental” hand-touching enacted by both you and Alhaitham, the final bouquet has arrived.
♡ You took a deep breath and tried to focus on the positive. You were feeling rather melancholic considering this will be last night you’ll be spending in Sumeru, the city of Wonder, where you met new besties for lifes and became an official ambivert (according to both Yoyiyma and Kaveh, two renowned extroverts). You couldn't help but smile as you stared at the reflection staring at you in the mirror. You wore a flattering green dress, it was made of a soft, flowing silk fabric that swayed with your movements. The colour of the dress brought out the e/c in your eyes and made your skin look even more radiant. You wore your hair down in loose waves, and your makeup was simple but elegant. White pearl earrings and necklaces completed your looks. As long as Yoimiya is here, you’ll always manage to look like a princess. Soft Sumeru music played as you and Yoimiya walked into the cafeteria. The usual loud, squalor of a cafeteria was transformed into a beautiful forest with soft fairy lights hanging from the tall stone ceiling. Plants, flowers and the soft light from candles placed upon the tables gave the most peaceful atmosphere possible. “Good evening.” Alhaitham's voice was deep and smooth. You whipped around to face the tall man behind you. He is wearing a well-tailored suit that fits him perfectly. His broad shoulders were enhanced in the black material. His hair was also styled, the usual strand of hair covering his left eye was slicked back.  As per usual, he had a confident and clamming demeanor, and he made you feel flustered immediately. You can’t deny the literal rizz radiating off of him.  “Good evening, you look really good by the way.” you complimented, why is it so hot in here?  Alhaitham smiled a little at the compliment. The reserved scholar felt his cheeks warming up a little. In return, he pulled a chair out for you, gesturing for you to sit. Shocked, you quickly sat down and thanked him. You were screaming inside, a man with manners and chivalry is making the butterflies swarmmmmmm. Alhaitam took a seat right next to you and filled up the fancy wine glasses for the both of you.
“How was your day?” He inquired, while taking a sip out of his drink. He initiated the conversation first, you noticed gleefully.  “It was alright, except for the tower building exercise. Can’t believe that Haypasia girl tripped and fell on our group’s tower! We would’ve been first place if she watched where she was walking!” You complained jokingly, Alhaitham chuckled at the disaster that occurred earlier today.  The two of you conversed throughout dinner, but you couldn’t help but notice how your elbow and his were touching the entire time. You wanted to assert dominance and didn’t move away, it seems he had the same thought. He didn’t move either, Alhaitham only leaned closer to you while talking. His eyes barely left yours while the both of you talked about life and dreams. One of the most attractive traits about him, besides literally everything, is his voice. He spoke with clarity, it's the kind of voice that makes you want to listen to him talk for hours. When he speaks, his words are carefully chosen and delivered with conviction. He has a way of making you feel like you're the only person in the room.  When the banquet ended, there was a surprise slow dance outside in the courtyard. When the organizers of the summer camp announced for everyone to find a partner, your e/c eyes immediately found his turquoise ones looking at you just the same. Alhaitham cleared his throat and held out his right hand.  “Would you like to have this dance with me?”  “Of course. I would never reject you.” You laughed and held his hands in yours. His warm calloused hands sent electric shots through your body and his. His eyes widen at the softness of your hands. Your already smiling face beamed when you saw his sudden red cheeks and bashfulness. The waltz music started, and the two of you swirled to the beat, Alhaitham taking the lead. The two of you weren’t afraid to stare into each other’s eyes. This is the first time you experienced what time stops truly meant. Alhaitham couldn’t help but sigh, it wasn’t a sigh of annoyance, but a sigh of endearment. The blue light of the full moon lit your perfect face, the gleaming of your pearl earrings made you an angel from heaven. A gift from Celestia just for him. Alhaitham was lost in a whole different dimension with you, to the young scholar, only the music, you, him, and the moon existed at the moment. Was this love? The both of you couldn’t describe this feeling that suddenly blossomed in your guy’s chest; it was this faint struggle of breath combined with a weird sense of yearning. It was truly indescribable. This continued throughout the whole waltz, the music only brought the two of you closer, closer, and closer. Both of you fell from heaven when the dance came to an end. Your heart skipped a beat when you realized how close you and Alhaitham were, both your noises were touching, you could feel his breath on your lips. “Eeeeeek! Just kiss already!” an excited screech made you pull away from Alhaitham. Yoimiya was with Kaveh and a few other campers with her phone on record in her hand.  “Oh by the way Alhaitham, me and Yoyimya recorded the whole entire dance! Ehe!” Kaveh grinned, pointing towards his own phone in his hand. The whole crowd all erupted in loud cheers and laughter.
When it was time to say goodbye, Alhaitham didn't want to leave. Both of you guys didn’t want to leave this secret paradise. He asked for your contacts and if he could see you again, and who are you to say no. Plus, the two of you would be attending the Akademiya in a couple of months, imagine the excitement and glee in Yoimiya’s eyes and cheers when you told her you got into the number one University in Teyvat. You received the acceptance email right after the dance that night. Alhaitham walked away with a smile on his face (which is unnerving for Kaveh) knowing that he had met someone truly special.
....................
You leaned your elbow against the window frame as you stared out at the sun setting beneath the endless ocean. The sky was ablaze with different shades of orange, pink, and purple. It was a breathtaking sight, and you felt lucky to be able to witness such beauty and art. The colours in the sky grew more and more vibrant as the sun disappeared, it was the perfect way to end a day. You turned your head to a sleeping Yoimiya hugging your arm. The sunlight brightening her features, you chuckled at your best girl and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Your head rests against the cool glass as you look up at the very first star that has appeared that night. A single white spot on a tapestry of orange and pink, you kept your focus on the sky as more stars appeared to embellish the darkening sky. The hum of the engine on the boat rocked you to sleep as you sailed home to Inazuma. The last thought you had before leaping off to dreamland was of a certain grey haired male and his luscious voice. At that moment you decided to embrace the fact that you’re a hopeless romantic, because as crazy as it may sound, you knew you just found your soulmate.

"You should be adding on the vows of poverty and obedience!"
“I’m not a nun, Charlotte!” you shot back.
“At this point, you might be!”
You huffed as you kicked your feet in the water of the pool. It was packed with people that afternoon. It was one of the new joys of the place. Even the janitors glided by to clean the floors with mops on their shoes as if they were skates, smiling.
You were getting to know the residents one by one. So far, you had befriended some of the women. Like sweet, quiet Helen with her soft brown hair and a baby bump that was overdue. Helen sat on a chair. She read a magazine as her kids played Marco Polo in the pool. And Charlotte- tall, slender, with dark hair and always a laugh in her smile. But now, the laugh was at you as she waded through the waters.
“Please shut up, we’re in a public space! There are kids everywhere! Can we discuss the sale on baked goods they have in the grocery store here instead?” you begged.
“They might as well learn! Gave Toby the Talk when he was five!” Charlotte shot back.
“Uh-Uhm- anyone watch any good shows on the television lately?” you then changed desperately.
Charlotte rolled her eyes. She shook the water from her ears, her beautiful black hair covered by a white swimming cap. She went up to the pool’s edge and folded her arms over it, resting her chin on them.
“This place has everything for you, Y/N- A grocery store, a spa, a school, a gym, and even a sex life if you want…” she continued.
You splashed the water on her face, and she laughed as she held her arms up in defense.
“But the thing is…I know someone for you. Someone more than able to take care of it…” Charlotte began.
“I’m pretty sure any average penis can do the job! And why do you care so much? It’s a personal choice about my body- none of your beeswax!” you retorted.
She raised one of her eyebrows as she swam to you.
“Not even oral?” she asked.
She would not be silenced by a refusal. You leaned in.
“No!” you whispered.
She pulled herself to the edge. Water splashed as she emerged to sit on the edge next to you.
“Y/N, I have a tip for you- two words!” she said.
She held up a fist and uncurled two fingers with the first and last names.
“Robert Laing.”
“Oh my god, you’re setting me up?” you sighed.
She shrugged.
“Why not? His tongue reached places I never thought it could!” she recalled.
Your jaw dropped.
“Are you seriously setting me up with your boyfriend?!” you cried, leaning forward.
“No! He’s not…” she answered.
“So, he’s your ex…you’re setting me up with your ex!?” you questioned.
“It was a fling- long over now. We’ve moved on. But we’re on good terms! All the women love him for a reason- he’s incredible! You’re going to lose it once, Sister Y/N, it might as well be someone who knows how to do the job. Listen to me-“
She pointed up to the above floors.
“Men have the brothel. Women have Laing.”
She flipped her legs up and walked over to the chairs.
“What do you think, Helen?!” she prodded.
You looked over to see Helen as she reclined on the pool chair. She tipped her lovely face from her magazine.
“Of Robert Laing?” she asked.
“Yeah-in bed!” Charlotte asked.
“Incredible! Nothing like it!!” Helen agreed.
Are you kidding me? Oh god- this place has a gigolo! you thought.
You forced your jaw to shut. High-Rise life wasn’t like normal life. It was a culture shock for you. Here, any proper rules about what was good or bad were out the window. People lived as they wanted and did what they wanted. There was no consequence. Each night, in the middle of the Twentieth floor, you could hear giggles and laughter. You passed people groaning and screaming with sex from their rooms. If not in the halls. The loud music from the constant partying was everywhere the second it was dark. You even heard housewives discussing what drugs they inhaled as they carried brown grocery bags.
“He’s a Shy boy. At First. But if you're alone with him in a bedroom…well, it’s a different man. But it’s not so intense that your first time with him would be too much. Unless you want to try anal,” Charlotte informed you.
You shot a look at Charlotte. Kids ran around the pool and tried to cartwheel into the water by you.
But Helen nodded and smiled. She spoke with the cherubic cheerfulness of a Disney princess.
“Oh yes, even anal with Robert is fantastic!” ❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄⊰❀
Besides, you had more pressing matters. There was a party that Royal’s wife, Ann, invited you to. A full 18th-century style ball complete with costumes! And what luck that she had costumes in your size available to rent!
Your gown was a lighter color- a creamy white, right in a shade that flattered you. Every guest was dressed in white or cream in their Rococo attire, like you. Your stays loosened now that they adjusted to your body. There were peals and beading on the bodice. Your large skirt swished as you moved, enjoying a fresh glass of champagne in hand.
You went by to try and make small talk when you felt something hit your skirt and on the ground. It was a bottle of wine. Fallen to the floor. A baritone voice behind you muttered “shit!”
Your stays prevented you from slouching, you squatted down to get it. You saw a long, elegant hand also reach for it. You looked up to see a young man who was not in 18th-century wear but a modern suit. In the black jacket and pants. He stuck out like a sore thumb against all the white of the guests.
But Holy Crap he was gorgeous. Bright blue eyes, a soft crop of hair a color between blonde and red, and his suit held a tall, lean frame.
“Oh- I’m so sorry! Did I get your dress?” he asked.
You both got up. Your stomach flipping, you felt self-conscious. The cut of the gown and the stays were better than any push-up bra. It was bumping up your cleavage. You felt his eyes flutter down there and then jolt back up. Your hands clasped and you brought them up to your neck in both surprise and a surge of modesty.
“No, you didn’t at all!” you insisted.
You glanced at the bottle of Riesling he had- you liked that flavor. You enjoyed getting it from many an evening at the grocery store. Especially when your bank account was low. It was affordable, crisp, and delicious.
“What’s your name?” he asked.
You gave him your name. He reached his hand with a smile.
“I’m Laing. Doctor Robert Laing.”
Doctor Robert Laing? That Doctor Laing?! The gigolo!? That was who the ladies were discussing?! You thought.
You stared at him, adrenaline coursing through you.
“Oh! Doctor Laing! I heard of you,” you replied out loud.
You didn’t need to tell him the context though. You offered your hand and offered it for him to shake.
“Good things, I hope!” he added with a wink that made your heart stop.
He accepted your hand, his hands felt ice cold, but soft.
“And how do you know Royal? He wouldn’t invite you if you didn’t know him,” Robert asked.
“Not well. I do see his wife around. Got to chat with her. We wound up getting along. She invited me here. She insisted I go out and get to know the people here…moved in two weeks ago,” you explained.
“Guess I’m still new here too-Month and a half!” Robert chatted.
“What room?” you asked.
“2505,” he answered.
You got to about talking where you came from as he began to light a limp cigarette, puffing at it lightly. He was very polite. His eyes were on you, listening more than talking. You discussed what you thought of the High-Rise. If you have been to the spa yet. Who you met. You then discussed the music playing at the party. You told him the orchestra was playing ABBA. One of your favorite bands!
“Y/N, that glass is already empty- could I fetch you another drink?” he offered.
“Sure thing!”
Right as Robert turned to get your drink, a burly, bearded man in costume blocked him.
“Hey there, dickhead- this is a themed party!” he declared.
Robert Laing could hardly say a word before the brute half-picked him up, dragging him off. He held onto the Doctor’s collar like a cat carrying a kitten. Guests seeing him pass by snickered at Robert’s modern attire. But you followed.
“Hey! Put him down! He didn’t do anything!” you tried to protest.
You beat your fists at Jerkass’s arm, but he swiped you away. He ignored you as he grabbed the wine bottle from Robert’s hand. He tossed the handsome doctor into the elevator roughly. Then pushed the button for it to close.
The Doctor locked eyes with you as the doors slid shut and he vanished. His face looked sad and scared. Far from the swaggering sex maniac you heard of. “Cheap bastard” the Jerkass cursed at the bottle before tossing it on the white fur rug.
Royal’s dog, a white German Shepherd with a bow tie, approached the bottle to sniff it. You bent your knees and picked it up. Yes, it was a cheap brand. But it tasted good. And Robert was trying to be a good guest.
You hid the bottle behind your back until you snuck into the bedroom. The bed was piled with the coats and purses of the guests. You planted it in your large purse by the pillows amongst everyone’s things. Then you turned back to enjoy the party. After an hour, you left, saying you had work early tomorrow. You got your purse and punched the lift to the Twenty-Fifth Floor.
You went to room 2505 and knocked. Robert opened, bewildered. A strand of his hair had flown out and he lacked his jacket. Not that it detracted his looks, not at all.
“Here- your wine,” you offered.
You pulled the bottle from your purse and handed it to him.
“Thank you, Y/N,” he answered.
“Are you okay-You look like you’ve been in a fight!” you asked.
He let out a deep sigh, pressing a hand to his head.
“No- lift broke for a bit,” he explained.
“Oh, that’s miserable! As if being kicked out wasn’t bad enough!” you commented.
He looked down at the bottle. He turned to put it on a chair and then returned to you, leaning closer against the doorframe.
“You seemed to be happy there. I’m sorry I had to make you leave,” he apologized.
“It’s alright. I came to wear this costume. Nothing more.” you added, giving the skirt a swish with your hand.
He leaned a little closer.
“You do look beautiful in it,” he complimented.
Lightning struck you. The edges of your vision had stars and you tried to even process if what you heard was real. He took a step aside, gesturing to his flat.
“But that wine…it’s not as good to drink alone. How about…how about we split it?” he offered.
You froze where you were. Your breath stopped, becoming a lump in the middle of your throat. Your hands turned sweaty.
“I don’t have any food in my stomach for that much booze…” you answered.
His eyebrows lowered, yet there was an honesty in his eyes. Even innocence. No guile to have his way with you. Not like Helen’s husband, Wilder. Wilder would charge at you. Making offers of his bed or the nearest surface. Not caring when you said no. You’d slap him and flee before he could grab you.
The soft way Robert looked at you suddenly made you panic with regret. The words flew out of you like a burp.
“Serve it with dinner and I’ll call it a deal!” you blurted.
Shit, Shit, shit, what the fuck was I thinking? you thought.
Your pulse raced. That was too forward, too bold. But then he nodded.
“Alright. I’ll make it. You don’t have to provide a thing.”
Time stopped. You could hardly believe it.
“Then it’s settled. Are you free tomorrow?” you asked.
“Yes,” Robert confirmed.
“What time?” you asked.
“Let’s say Seven.”
“It’s done. I’ll see you tomorrow at seven.”
He smiled at you.
“I look forward to it,” he answered.
You said your goodbyes. The second you got back to your flat, you threw yourself onto the couch in a pile of white silk of your dress. You put a pillow to your face and screamed into it, kicking your legs in giddy joy. Your maturity level descending.
A date! A date! I have a date! I asked a hot guy out! And he said yes!!!! Oh my god, oh my god, how am I even going to sleep tonight??? ❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄⊰❀
The next day, you were out of coffee and bread and headed down to the grocery store. But who should also be there, wheeling a cart, but Helen. She waved at you, gesturing to you to come near her.
“What’s up, Y/N- there’s a look on your face! Was Royal’s fun?” she asked.
“Helen-I met Laing last night,” you reported.
She gasped and then smiled.
“See- lovely fellow! And a looker too, isn’t he?” she teased.
You looked down at your hands on the grocery cart with a smile that confirmed- Yes, he was handsome. Helen kept giggling, a blush on her cheeks. Then you returned up at her, an idea making you frown.
“And are you sure he’s available? I don’t want to make some poor woman miserable, even by accident!” you asked.
“Yes- not committed to anybody…he’s been around. But no attachments. If there was, I’d know!” she confirmed.
Your carts paused in the cereal aisle. You took a deep breath.
“I’m having dinner with him tonight” you announced.
“What! That’s wonderful! You did the work for us!” she chirruped, clapping her hands together.
“What do you mean ‘work’?” you prodded.
“Charlotte and I had a chat, and we had a plan- we were going to set you up with him. I’d go to you and tell you everything about him. Charlotte would go to Robert’s and sing every bit of your praises. Then you’d both agree to meet up or exchange phone numbers!”
You gave a smile and shrugged.
“Thank you-I appreciate the thought! But I’m able to find my own men and set up my own dates of course!” you replied.
You pushed your carts to a corner to talk. You then explained how you met him and the party. Returning the wine bottle and everything.
“He’s even going to cook- isn’t that thoughtful?!” she commented.
“I’m just nervous about it. Dates make me nervous,” you confided.
“Don’t worry, you’ll be fine,” Helen comforted.
A lady passed by with sunglasses over her eyes and a bold shade of lipstick. Passerby’s from the aisles asked for her autograph. She half-smiled and signed notepads with a flourish. The dog in her cart leaned his nose close at them to get a whiff, wagging his tail.
“Think of this- you’ll have a lovely dinner at minimum. And at maximum- you won’t be walking when I see you tomorrow,” she reasoned, raising a hand to rub her pregnant belly.
You felt your entire face get hot with embarrassment.
“I’m not the type to kiss on the first date, much less shag! It’s only a dinner-not a wedding night! But I’ll let you know how it goes. So don’t get your hopes up! And Helen, And that goes for Charlotte too! I know you’ll tell her!” you insisted.
Both of you wheeled your carts to get in the long line for the cashier.
“But I still have to…impress him,” you blubbered. Could you even live up to the other women here?
Helen rubbed your back, “If he didn’t like you, he’d say no. Y/N, you know he’s nice! Just wear your best dress-that should make you feel confident!”
You let out a deep exhale. Your carts moved forward in the line.
“Part of me is tempted to cancel. Save myself the embarrassment. Or the heartbreak,” you confessed.
Helen leaned into you.
“Charlotte says he sunbathes in the afternoons. Naked. Get to her place and look down if you want a peek at what to look forward to. That might convince you to go forward.” ❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄⊰❀
Holy shit, this can’t be real. I can’t be doing this, you thought.
Your heart was racing, your finger shaking as you pressed the button to go to the Twenty-Fifth floor. Up it went, up, up, up. You could chicken out and run away, but no- that was being a coward. Didn’t you want this in the first place? Hell, you were the one who flat-out asked him!
What if it all went wrong? What if then he hated you? What if you hated him? Yes, he was incredibly handsome but handsome men could be total pricks. Wilder was as handsome as they come. But the man was a slimy, creepy rat bastard you wanted to shove off the highest balcony. If only Helen would divorce his sorry ass by now. She didn’t deserve him. But what if Wilder was a sweet guy back then? What if when Helen began dating him, he wasn’t like that? People change. What if Robert seemed okay at first and then turned into an asshole who broke your heart or hurt you? What then?
But all that was for later. Now was now.
It’s a free dinner, at least you thought remembering Helen’s words.
Taking a deep breath, the elevator dinged, and you stepped out to the hall.
You checked a hand mirror in your pocket to make sure your makeup was right, and that there weren’t any noticeable stains in your teeth. Your dress was blush pink, showing your shoulders and snug on your body with a flared skirt. Pink, how ironic- that mix of innocent white and passionate red. You had jewelry and earrings complete with heels. The heating broke throughout for a few hours, and you wore a coat over your dress from the chill of the building.
There it was, checking the notepad you had in your pocket and then double-checking, it was the right room- 2505. You entered, took a deep breath, and knocked on the door.
You knocked on the door and saw him. Your body froze at the sight of him. If this was real. If he was real. He was in a white dress shirt with a grey jacket and black tie. So simple, but so becoming. His eyes were soft when they looked at you, like the gaze of a doe. This couldn’t be the wild sex maniac the women of the High-Rise gossiped about. The man they went to for sex as they went to the spa for massages. Or was he?
“Hello, Robert….” You greeted.
He opened it.
“Please…come in…can I take your coat?”
“Yes…”
You sucked in the air when you felt him behind you, his hands raised up. Taking your coat. They were gentle as they brushed against your shoulders. You felt his eyes drink you in from behind. Seeing your dress. Seeing the outline of your body. But you did not raise an arm or hand to cover yourself, you let him look. He walked over and put the coat over a hook on the wall.
“Welcome, Y/N. You look lovely again. Make yourself at home,” he greeted with a smile.
Your chest fluttered as you mumbled a “thank you.”
You noticed the room- one wall had a tiny square of grey paint on it. But the other walls were tall and brown with rectangular columns- sleek and modern. A few boxes were in the back. There was a photo pinned to one wall of him in a casual shirt smiling and hugging a young woman. You thought you glimpsed a bed in one corner and promptly turned your head away to ignore it. Near the dinner table was a sliding glass door to a balcony like every house as the sun had finally set and it darkened to nighttime. The room was lit a little low- not garishly bright. But not too dark.
You saw him in his lovely suit and his tie. You smiled at him.
“Thank you so much, Robert. The place looks wonderful,” you complimented.
He gallantly pulled out the chair at the table for you. You made a smile too big for your face and your stomach fluttered. Robert made his way to the other end. There was the Riesling along with a small salad bowl and a meal.
“Well, what brought you here?” you asked.
Robert’s hand froze, fork in mid-air.
“It was my…my sister,” he answered.
“She invited you?”
“No, she died…” he replied.
This man at the party held himself like a demigod, a touch of the divine within him. But at the mention of his sister, here you were with the mortal half.
“Oh, Robert…that’s awful…” you said.
He began to blink. He then reached into his pocket, lit a cigarette with shaking hands, and began to smoke. His hands were still shaking after a several puffs with the cigarette. You saw a tear in the duct of his eye. You got up, went to your coat pockets, retrieved tissues, and hurried over to give him one.
“Here…here…” you said.
You heard sniffs. You then handed him a glass of water from the kitchen, and he began to gulp it up. His eyes were puffy with quiet tears. He then glanced at the photo.
“We were close. And she was the nicest, most genuine person you could imagine. She had a full life…but not a long one…” he continued.
“Robert, that’s still a tragedy…and you should grieve how you want….” You comforted, leaning closer to him.
Looking down at your hands, you saw they fidgeted. Glancing around the room, you wondered if now the right time was to even have this dinner. You retreated two steps from him.
“Do you need some space? I can go back to-”
“No! No- please! Please stay…” Robert pleaded, leaning forward in his chair, a hand up to stop you.
“Alright, I will.”
You returned to the chair and sat down.
“Sometimes, I’m over her. I think I’ve stopped crying…then it hits me…I’m sorry, Y/N, you weren’t expecting a crying mess….” He confided.
“I’m pretty sure losing a beloved sibling would make any person into a crying mess…” you reasoned.
He then looked at the dinner…
“We should start. The food might get cold,” he reasoned.
You sat down and began with the rolls in a basket on the table.
“So, tell me…tell me more about your job! I know you’re a doctor,” you queried.
“Well, I’m a physiologist. And a professor…” he said.
As he dug into the salad, his shoulders began to lower. His lips curled to a small smile as he looked at you.
“Not just a medical doctor? That’s impressive. That requires lots of studying to get approved!” you praised, nodding your head.
“I teach physiology to medical students in training. How to do autopsies. One poor chap flat out fainted once in the middle last month.”
“Well, can’t blame him! I see too much gore in a horror movie, and I have to cover my eyes!” you commented.
“It’s the human body! It’s fascinating!” he said, gesticulating with his hands.
He grinned wider and set the cigarette on an ashtray on the table. The salad and main course and side dishes vanished. Time passed easily talking to him. One topic you discussed excitedly so much that you had to freeze your hands from knocking over the Riesling bottle placed next to you. He lit a new one, and began to absent-mindedly smoke, but kept his eyes on you. You sipped on your glass and realized he had finished this.
“Oh, the bottle…it’s on the other side,” he commented.
“Here, let me bring it over. Would you like me to pour it for you?” you offered.
“Yes…”
You went over and poured the glass. He picked up the cigarette, the smoke curling up to twist and melt into the air. Then he looked at you with reverence above him. It was a nice picture. Domestic even. Your gaze met his and you pulled up the wine bottle before you could overflow his glass by accident.
Feminism was leaving your mind like filtering sand each second you laid eyes on him. Could you see yourself as his wife already? Was it too soon?
You could see yourself waking up next to him. Fixing him coffee in the morning. Adjusting his tie before he went to work, asking for him to tell you every bit of it as you gave him a demure kiss on the cheek. When it came to the time, he would be back home, you’d dress up with lipstick, skirts, pearls, and perfume just like now. You would have dinner prepared on the table or a hot bath too for good measure. He would enter and greet you with one of the smiles that made you flutter and a deeper kiss than that in the morning. You would pour him a drink when he came in. He’d praise the dinner but then look at you. Saying he’d rather devour you. Then pick you up. Carry you to the kitchen countertop. Shove away the leftover ingredients. He’d make hickeys across your pearl-draped neck. Then he'd push you to lie down on it. He’d lift your skirt, drop his pants and fuck you senselessly on the countertop until….
The footsteps of people out in the hall snapped you back. You felt your entire body clench, arousal already soaking your panties. A pit in your stomach with the food. You made yourself swallow the fantasy out. That was for later. You had to be present. Your body felt hot like it had a fever. Returning to your seat, you poured yourself another sip of Riesling. Grateful that he chilled it. Robert turned his head to the outside balcony, gesturing to it.
“Ah- look outside! It’s beautiful tonight! Sometimes I can hear the crickets…or see the stars,” he suggested.
The two of you went out to the balcony and looked up and out. You saw some stars, whatever wasn’t blocked by the fog of London nearby. Crickets chirruped from below. Both of you admired it for a few minutes.
He turned to you, flicking his cigarette off the end. It was like a tiny, red star before blinking into nothing. As if it dissolved into the night air before hitting the pavement.
“Y/N, thank you for earlier…and for returning the bottle…” he said with a smile.
“You’re welcome. They were dicks to you. And it’s a good wine. And thanks for opening up about your sister-I think there are half-off roses at the store. I’ll send some to you in her honor, just tell me a color…” you offered.
“I should be the one getting you flowers. I had work and had to cook the food- ran out of time,” he explained.
“Well, I’m not the one who needs it!” you quipped.
He chuckled warmly. You realized he was leaning closer. And you could pick up his scent- cigarette smoke and cologne mixed up in the drink that was Doctor Robert Laing. His eyes hypnotized you. His face, smooth and handsome, transfixed you. You felt his hands on your waist. You felt him lifting you up, sitting you down on hard brick and mortar. But your gaze never left his. You looked down and he up.
“Robert, I…” you began.
But the words stopped. Your thoughts stopped.
His eyes went to your lips. Then he touched your cheek. That cold, soft hand. He began to lean forward.
Oh God, Oh god, oh god, ShitFuckShitFuck, it was about to happen! You thought in a thrilled panic.
Before you could close your eyes and seal the kiss, you felt a gust of cold wind on your back. You were so transfixed by him that you didn’t register where he put you. Blinking and then turning around, you saw he had set you to sit on the balcony. Right over the twenty-five floors below to the hard concrete. A push of his arms and you were a goner.
You let out a scream.
You wrapped your arms around him. You clung onto him like a koala and buried your face into his neck.
“Robert! Please!” you cried.
You could feel his smile, but he wrapped his arms around you. His hands were on your back, supporting you, keeping you safe.
“Okay- it’s okay, I got you,” he assured.
“Take me off- now!” you insisted.
He wrapped his arms around you, picking you up like you were as light as a toy doll and setting you down. He wiped his hands on his sides.
“I’m so sorry. Some of the women liked that. I should have asked,” he apologized.
“It’s okay-you got me off!” you assured him.
“Here, I know what’ll make you feel better. I brought my records with me…would you like to hear one?” he asked.
You nodded. He brought out a box. There was such a wide variety that he collected. He insisted on not sticking religiously to one genre. Good music was good music. He offered you your choice of albums. You selected one of the old-school crooners from the fifties. He set it on and began to play it. The album started as you both sat there, listening. The music melting your adrenaline from the balcony. You turned and felt him look at you. He then offered an open hand.
“Can we…can we dance?” he offered.
“Yes.”
You felt him pull you up. You felt him take one hand in your other and you felt him reach an arm around your waist to your back. You both moved. It wasn’t as much dancing as it was gentle swaying. But he was so graceful, so soothing you didn’t care.
“Robert, why did you say yes to dinner?” you asked.
“I’ve been lonely here, Y/N. I wanted company. And after that party, I wanted your company…you made this lonely man feel a little less lonely in this place here.” he explained.
The crooner’s voice went up to end the song and a new one began.
“Your hands…they’re cold. Doctor’s hands are always cold,” you commented.
“Then here,” he offered.
Robert put one hand to his face, letting out an exhale. on the palm. Then he rubbed it on his pants. The friction creating more heat. Then he grasped your hand again.
“No cold hands, no?” he asked.
“Much better,” you nodded.
“Y/N, would you like to learn something medical?” he asked, continuing to sway with you.
“Yes.”
“You can feel the pulse in various places in the body, yes, but that includes your stomach. And that’s for a certain kind of pulse- PMI. Point of Maximum Impulse,” he explained.
“Where is it on me?” you asked.
“Well, can I touch you with my cold doctor's hands?” he quipped.
“Yes,” you answered with a giggle.
He lowered his hand to press the flesh gently beneath your left breast, and between rib bones. You inhaled sharply at his touch.
“There. That’s the PMI- one of the strongest beats from your heart. You can guess certain heart diseases feeling it,” he taught.
“And what can you tell about my pulse, Doctor Laing?” you asked.
His cheeks became pink at the word.
“That it’s…it’s racing…very fast.”
“And why does the heartbeat race? You’re the expert,” you teased.
“Anxiety or danger… but also excitement…”
“What about yours? How is your pulse?” you asked.
“Here…why don’t you tell me yourself…” he offered, smiling back.
You lifted your hand from his and placed it on the left side of his chest, over his grey jacket. You could feel it starting to race.
“It’s going fast too…” he whispered.
“From anxiety, danger…or excitement…”
“Yes…”
Robert then leaned forward, his nose grazing yours. An inch before, almost seeking permission. You gazed at each other’s eyes and then lips.
And finally, they touched sealing into a kiss. You felt him press you tight- an embrace you would never want him to release from. He held onto you. The music swelled- it was now a romantic ballad. He let go.
“I had a good night tonight,” Robert told you.
“I did too…”
His hand dropped to touch the side of your face. He kissed more and more. He pushed his tongue in, and you made a noise at the feel. Only to kiss him more. You felt his hand on your lower back press you closer. Your hips were connecting. Arousal soaked you down below. But even more this time. This time it was real. The friction made you chilled, hypnotized. Nothing, no one else mattered- except him.
“I…I don’t want it to end now….” He confessed.
He kissed you, but then you realized he had guided you right into the column before the kitchen, and he was pawing at your clothes, looking for the zipper in your back. Your mind then went blank in surprise.
“Robert- wait! Please, wait!” you pleaded breathily, putting a hand on his chest to stop.
He paused. His arms fell. A strand of hair was loose and his lips were bright pink.
“Did the ladies tell you about me?” you asked.
“No,” he reported.
“I know you’re experienced but I never…never did this before, Robert…” you explained.
“Oh...alright…” he nodded.
No comments. No words of lack of surprise nor total surprise. No laughter and no judgment. No teasing. He only accepted it as a fact, like the earth was round.
“I’m sorry. I got carried away. I got excited. I like you, Y/N. I like you a lot- but I’ll stop,” He apologized.
He took a few steps back.
Yet the look of him made you light-headed with lust. All yours if only for this night. The raving reviews of the women taunted your mind. And the creeping, slivering desire you felt for Robert Laing overwhelmed you. You realized you didn’t want to call it a night and return home. It was the first step of a steep hike. The view from above would be worth each nerve-wracking step. And that he felt for you…
Your heart was racing out of control. Your head was clear despite the wine, the pooling in your body was urging at you, telling you. It's time. You're ready. And you know it. You want this. You want him.
“I told you to wait… not to stop. Not completely. I trust you. I want this. And I want it to be you…” you directed.
“Are you absolutely sure?” he asked.
“Yes,” you replied, stepping forward.
You slide a hand behind his head, through his hair. He kissed you further, deeper. You moaned into it.
“The bed. If it’s the first time, you need the bed…” he whispered.
You would let him have you anywhere, but you still smiled. He led you over there to that bed. He laid you down.
“Look at you in that dress, it made me want to ruin you the minute you came in,” he growled.
He kissed you hard and passionately. You sighed into it. Some gentle pressure from his push and you laid down on the bed. He laid on top of you and you felt his weight. It wasn’t to crush you, but just enough that it was like an embrace. You felt a gasp from your lips as he undid his tie and tossed it to the side. His hands raised your skirt. He grinned seeing the nicest lace underwear you had selected. Already visibly stained by how wet you were.
“Here…I’ll make you ready even more, darling…” he said.
He crept a finger down the hem. He then looked up.
“Can I?” he asked.
“Yes, you can…” you nodded.
You let out a gasp feeling his finger inside you. He moved it around and you shuddered. A gasp that stopped in your throat as he stretched you out, felt your walls, getting deeper. He explored you and you had to get used to it- the newness, the intrusion. But you didn’t want him out yet. He licked his lips as he curled it up, eliciting a small moan from you. You felt him move up your folds and then finding your clit. As he began to circle it, you splayed a hand over his back and grabbed onto his jacket. A shuddering sound escaped you. The man was fully clothed but you were already a mess for him. You began to writhe as he circled it more, in response, a groan came out of you.
“There?” he asked.
“There!” you confirmed in a gasp.
“More, my dear-more?” he asked.
“Yes…then keep them- oh!” you cried, interrupted as he put in a second finger.
You felt your own legs open wider for space. He found the right spot, and you began whimpering. Neck arching and close your eyes to keep feeling it. Then he removed it, wiping the juices on your thigh. You felt cold, and empty without them in you. But that was only the first stage; preparation.
“Can’t believe I’m your first. First to touch you. First to ruin you. First to fuck you. I don’t want any man after to compare to me,” he boasted.
Your fingers began to grip the sheets to steady yourself. Both of you tossed away your shoes.
He unzipped the back of your dress. You pulled him forward, kissing him again, but moving to the lobe of his ear, his neck. He removed your dress. He took off your stockings, kissing your stomach as it glided over and letting it float down to the floor. You were in a bra and underwear. You raised a hand to cup his cheek. Despite the shakiness in your hands and your own brain racing through the fog of arousal, fear, and thrill. You pulled him in to kiss him again, not caring that your teeth clank. He wrapped an arm around you, and you felt the warmth right on your skin.
“We have some walls to test here. I want you to be screaming for the neighbors to complain,” he voiced, taking off his jacket to toss on the floor.
You half sat up and helped him to undo the buttons of his white dress shirt. With a smooth movement, he removed his pants. You saw the erect outline through his white underwear. You felt your eyes widen as you saw him. Tanned and ripped, clear muscles, strong biceps, and a wide chest and shoulders. He smiled proudly as you sat there ogling him.
“Like what you see?” he asked.
“Yes,” you said.
“That’s good. I like what I see too. There’s just one thing that could be better,” he said.
He went back to kiss you and felt one hand reach to your bra strap in the back. Both of you forgot about the enforced chill of the apartments. You had the fire of bare skin on bare skin. He paused and looked down at your exposed breasts with a smile. He raised his hand, grazing a thumb over your nipple. You shivered from it.
“This exquisite and uninvaded. Untouched. Looks like I’ll have to end that…” he mumbled.
He wrapped his arms around you to pull you back down, and you peppered kisses all over his jaw and his neck. You even found his earlobe and pecked it. You felt his own hardness press on you as well as his leg. A thin line of cloth on both of you. Nothing more, nothing less. Keeping your bodies from joining. Ache. Need. You felt him against you. Your hips rocked to his and Laing let out a groan. He teased his hardness against your clothed entrance.
“And you know the procedure, Doctor?” you teased with a heated giggle.
“I know it well if you want it,” he replied, his breath hot against you.
“Yes, please…I need you to fuck me,” you mewled, arching your shoulders back, tits splaying.
You never heard this tone in your voice. Wanton. Downright pornographic. But here it was.
You felt his own hips against yours and a shudder between you both. Then he crawled up, and you felt his hardness outline on your stomach. He looked at you.
“Then, keep laying supine…and keep calling me Doctor…” he requested.
He kissed one breast, eliciting a moan from you. He moved on to the other. Your arms reached down until your fingers traced his shoulders. You found his hair and combed all ten of your fingers through it. He moved down to kiss your hip bone. His own hands went up, tracing the side of your leg.
You felt his long fingers splaying over your hip bones and the hem. He was slow- as if enjoying feeling every inch of you. Curling around the hem, he pulled the panties down your thighs. He put them through your knees, through your calves, and off. As if this was a ceremony. Your heart drummed further, your head spinning as he looked down on you. He looked at you bare. His eyes kept between your legs, licking your lips at the sight of your sex.
He removed his underwear and kicked it away. He was already dripping small pearls. You swallowed a gasp. He was monstrous…not that you had any before to compare it to. He returned to hover over you. He pried your legs open with his hands, warm from his breath but also the touch of your skin. You felt your own hips arch forward for him.
You glanced over to the side, seeing the night. It was dark against the soft lights of the apartment. The sky was clear. Stars finally outshone the city smog. A beautiful, peaceful night indeed. A perfect night to lose your innocence to Laing.
He then tipped a finger beneath your chin, moving you to face him.
“I want to see you, I want to look in your eyes when I’m the first one to fuck you, the first to enter you. I want you to look at me,” he rasped.
“Yes, Doctor.”
Looking right into his eyes, you opened your shaking legs. He sank into you. Bit by bit. Inch by inch. Moans coming out of you. Then he moved his hips and let it all in.
You let out one little cry when he was fully inside. You felt his own heartbeat over you, his skin, and his moan right next to your ear. Your walls adjusted to him. You felt yourself clutch onto his back. He panted right next to you. He kept his eyes on you. Knowing how special this moment was. He finally claimed you. Nothing else would change that now in the future. Robert Laing was the first to enter you. The first to show you sinful bliss.
Then he pulled his hips back. You sighed at the feeling of the coldness from lack of him, and he brought it back with a sloppy thrust.
Your breath hitched when finally, he was inside. You felt his own heartbeat over you, his skin, and a moan right next to your ear. Your walls adjusted to him. You felt yourself clutch onto his back. Then he pulled his hips back. You sighed at the feeling of the coldness from lack of him, and he brought it back with a sloppy thrust.
“There…there’s a good girl…like that…” he rasped.
He thrust into you again, and again. A voice flew out of you, a voice you never knew you had. He began to pick up only slightly. You gasped- you liked this.
“Yes! Yes, yes! Doctor-fuck- yes!!” you hissed.
You tilted your head back, eyes closing to enjoy the sensation when he cupped your jaw and pulled it down. You opened your jaw as he traced a finger over your lips.
“Remember-eyes on me….” He panted.
You let his face meet yours. His lips grazed yours in an open kiss. He even took his forehead and pressed yours against it. You felt his breath hot against you.
“Angel, can you…can you take more?” he asked.
You nodded, your hands reaching to that strong back and digging your nails in. He responded by snapping his hips right into you, such a hard pull you felt the invasion arrange your insides.
“Doctor!” you cried out.
It was the sweetest invasion, the pinprick of pain that brought pleasure. He picked up the speed. His own groans from his pink lips serenade your whorish moans. Then more.
“Fuck, you’re-you’re tight. Shit-shit- taking me so well, there- there’s- fuck!-my good girl,” he whimpered as he picked up the pace.
You felt yourself get dizzy. Your hands around, reaching his hair and raking your nails deeper onto his back. He had found the right spot, your hips meeting his, but angling- deeper, with the speed increasing. You were sliding against the bed, yet you weren’t stopping him. He then took your lower thighs and lifted them, he reached the upper angle, near your clit. He was getting rougher.
“Doctor-Yes-oh, Jesus- Yes-yes!” you were yelling.
His thrusts were wilder. Faster. He grunted and groaned, eyes down on you. Here was the passionate man the women raved about. The desk next to the bed was shifting around with how deeply, quickly, and powerfully he was fucking you. And the bed itself was denting against the wall.
Something was bubbling inside you. Building up. He was cursing, then crying out your name. Something was building in you. Like you were going to break if you let it grow. Like you would die. But you wanted to. at the sound as he slammed you, hips slamming into yours as he kept up the fast rhythm. All as he looked you in the eye and you in his eyes. Then he put a finger in your slit and curled it on your nub.
The pleasure was rising. More moans came out of you. Not quiet ones. Bubbling up wilder as he stroked you there. About to spin out of control. You weren’t going to last.
“D-Doctor- I think I’m- I think I’m going to-“
“Cum-darling-cum, cum with me!” He was yelling as well, meeting your volume.
It built higher, higher, until-
You let out a last, loud cry.
The spinning pleasure snapped in you. You took in a slight gasp as the shockwaves of your peak. You felt him give a last shout of your name as he came too. He was pulsing inside you, and you felt yourself shake, an ache in your own pussy and legs. The record had stopped playing and there was only the white noise of the vents above you. The heat had come back on. Not that you or Robert needed it.
You fell together, feeling the eclipse of your shared high. You saw the ceiling spin above you. Slowly arriving back to. The apartment reeked of sex, of your bodies, of sweat, and the heat of passion. He pulled out of you; you could hear his own quick breaths. Trying to catch his own. Your entire body was heavy from your climax, craving sleep.
“Are you okay?” he asked, touching a hand to your shoulder.
“I’m…I’m tired…tired and wonderful,” you replied.
He smiled.
“I’m glad then…” he said.
You nestled close and wrapped an arm around him. Good night, you couldn’t have asked for a better hour.
“Robert, Thank you. I’m glad it was with you…” you complimented.
“So, I take that you liked it?” he quipped.
“I loved it- Doctor,” you answered with a giggle.
As you nestled closer to him, he laughed back with you. The laughter made his body under your arms jilt up and down. The sound rumbled and echoed through your skin. There was something pure about it. Sweet.
He let go. But it felt too soon. You wanted to hold him for longer. Cuddle him. Kiss him on the cheek and forehead. Call him every pet name under the sun. You leaned on your side and traced the outline of his cheek down to his shoulder. He blinked and watched your hands, unused to the intimacy. Then he shifted closer to lay on his side parallel to you. You wrapped your arms around each other.
“Can I stay?” you proposed.
His eyes went wide. His jaw went slack. Then he nodded.
“Yes- Y/n, please! I never had anyone stay over the night…” he confessed.
Your eyebrows shut up.
“You’re kidding!” you gasped.
Comparing you to his ex-lovers on a first date wasn’t a wise choice for a man. But there was a sadness in his voice. It made you halt. It made you listen.
“They’d take me. And then they’d leave. Not say a word when I passed them at the store. Like I was no different than their plumber…”
You traced a finger over his bare chest. Drawing figures as he beamed down at you.
“Then I’ll stay…but I might need my toothbrush tomorrow. My breath will stink if you kiss me in the morning,” you reminded him.
“I’ll brave it then,” he responded.
He leaned in to kiss you. Both of you settled in closer. Never letting go of the other. Discussing everything. Discussing nothing. Your exhaustion from your orgasm won over and you both melted into a peaceful sleep, there in room 2505.

I’m Here
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Reader, ex!Jason Carver x ex!Reader
Word Count: let me get back to you on that
Warnings: written terribly, kinda angst, reader is dealing with a rough break up, jason carver, jason calls reader a mean word, eddie is desperately in love (or just desperate), swearing, one vaguely dirty joke.
A/N: This is my entry for @wndalovebot ‘s Words Written By the Sea challenge! I used the prompts “You need someone right now. And I’m the one that’s here. Let me be what you need.” and “You don’t have to talk about it, just let me make the pain go away.”

People always talk about high school romance; about “young love”. There are hundreds of movies where teenagers find their first love, go to prom, and live happily ever after.
No one warns you that dating in high school can be a bitch.
Because now, after your messy break up with Jason Carver, you still have to see him every day. You still have to see him in the halls and at lunch. You still have to sit next to him in some of your classes. You still have to hear his friends talk shit about you.
Before you started dating Jason, you were close with the Hellfire Club; especially Eddie Munson. You didn’t play Dungeons & Dragons, but you were the unofficial co-dungeon master. You’d come up with some ideas for plots and NPCs while Eddie would handle the mechanics of it all. But after a month of dating Jason, he got controlling. It started with you missing Hellfire meetings to sit in on basketball practice or games. After that, he wanted you to sit with the team during lunch instead. Then Jason didn’t want you going to Eddie’s trailer. And then he didn’t want you talking to any of them at all.
You thought you were being sneaky by calling Eddie still. Jason stopped you from talking to him at school, but he couldn’t keep track of who you were calling. It was a good plan. Until it wasn’t.
All it took was one night. One night where Jason stayed over a little later than usual. The phone rang from downstairs, so your mom answered it. A moment later she shouted, “Y/N! It’s Eddie!” Jason got mad, you got mad, and you broke up.
The next day, you approached the Hellfire table at lunch. They gave you looks of confusion, shock, and even a little betrayal. But Eddie just gave you a sympathetic smile and pulled you over to the seat next to him. “Welcome back.” You described the situation to the others in as little detail as possible and they quickly accepted you back into the group. While everyone was busy talking about the campaign, Eddie leaned over to whisper, “Do you wanna come over tonight? We can watch a movie like old times.”
You nodded, glad that he wasn’t mad at you for being away for so long. “Yeah, that’d be nice.”
—————
That night, as you got ready to go to Eddie’s, the phone rang. This time you were able to answer it. “Hello?”
“Hey, Y/N.” You knew that voice. Why the fuck was Jason calling you?
“What do you want?”
“A little birdie told me you’re hanging out with the freak tonight. I thought you knew better.”
You rolled your eyes even though he couldn’t see it. “So what, Jason? I’m not your girlfriend anymore, you don’t get to tell me who I can and can’t hang out with.”
“I know that. I’m just disappointed. We broke up less than a week ago and you’re already desperate for attention. And from Eddie Munson? You can’t have me anymore, so you’re gonna whore yourself out to him now? Is that what this is?” The most baffling part was his tone. Jason sounded like he genuinely believed the words he was saying; like he was just trying to look out for you.
Instead of snapping or making some kind of comeback, you just hung up. The phone rang again. And again. And again. You didn’t answer. You told your parents that you were going to Eddie’s and that if Jason called they should hang up. Luckily, they didn’t ask any questions.
By the time you got to Eddie’s trailer, your anger had worn off. In it’s place was guilt, shame, and embarrassment. You didn’t feel guilty for hanging out with Eddie; quite the opposite. You felt bad for pushing him and the club aside for Jason. When you knocked on the door, you tried to push it all down. You didn’t want to ruin your first time hanging out with Eddie again after three months.
The door opened, revealing Wayne dressed in his work uniform, “Do my eyes deceive me or is that Y/N Y/L/N?” His grin and light chuckle took a bit of the weight off of your shoulders. “You know you don’t have to knock.”
“I know but it’s been a while. I didn’t wanna overstep.”
Wayne simply waved his hand dismissively, “Nonsense. You’re here now, that’s what matters. I’m glad I caught you on my way out. I missed ya, kid.”
Somehow that made you feel better and worse at the same time. “I missed you too, Wayne. Drive safe.” With a smile and a wave goodbye, Wayne got in his truck and went to work.
You sat on the couch, happy to be back in the familiar environment but afraid to make yourself too comfortable. Eddie came out from the bathroom a few minutes later, his hair wet from taking a shower. “Oh, hey! I didn’t hear you come in.”
“Sorry, Wayne let me in before he went to work.”
“No need to apologize,” Eddie chuckled. “Um— Let me get dressed and I’ll grab some tapes for us to watch.” You didn’t even notice that Eddie was shirtless until he said that, but once you saw it you couldn’t unsee it. Your eyes lingered a moment longer than they should have, making blood rush to your cheeks. Eddie rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, unknowingly showing off his body even better. “I’ll— uh, I’ll be right back.”
Eddie got dressed in record time, quickly returning with a large blanket and three tapes. “Okay, we’ve got Friday the 13th, Evil Dead, or Poltergeist.”
“You had to pick all horror movies, didn’t you?”
“Of course,” Eddie grinned, setting the tapes on the coffee table in front of you. “I haven’t been able to see you hide under a blanket during jumpscares in a while.”
A pang of guilt shot through you, but you swallowed it down. “Um… Friday the 13th.”
Eddie nodded and put the tape in the VHS player. “Bold choice. I like it.”
As the movie played, the two of you fell into an awkward silence. You and Eddie used to be able to talk for hours about anything and everything, but now you couldn’t find anything to say. Eventually, Eddie spoke up.
“So… how are you doing? After, you know…”
Of all the things Eddie could have asked, it had to be that. “I’m okay I guess.”
“You guess?”
“I mean,” You looked down and started fiddling with the edge of the blanket. “I’m glad it’s over, but I still feel like shit about it.”
Eddie got closer, putting a hand on your shoulder. “Hey, don’t do that to yourself. You’re better off without him.”
You sighed, still not looking at him. “I know. It just— It felt nice. Being in a relationship. I was so happy to have a boyfriend that I let Jason get away with so much shit.” Your eyes filled with tears, but no matter how hard you fought them, they still fell. “And even though he was an asshole I still feel lonely without him. It’s stupid.”
“It’s not stupid. He was good to you at first, it’s okay to miss that.”
You shook your head. “That’s the thing. I don’t think I miss the beginning stage, I think I miss all of it. I miss the shitty parts too because I miss having a boyfriend in general. I was perfectly fine with being single before, but he ruined that for me too.”
“Please don’t tell me you want to be with him still. He’s a piece of shit.”
“I know he is… I just—“ You cut yourself off with a groan, not sure what to say. Eddie bit his lip as he thought something over. “What are you thinking about?” You asked him.
“I think… I think you need a rebound.”
Your eyes widened, “A rebound?! It’s only been a couple days.”
“I know, but that’s the whole purpose of a rebound— You find someone new right after.”
“Okay, even so, isn’t that a shitty move? I mean, I’d feel bad just using someone like that. It’s not like me.” If you were honest with yourself, you knew that you were Jason’s rebound from Chrissy. That was enough to make you not like the idea of having your own rebound.
“What if they knew? Like, they know what they’re signing up for?”
At this point the movie had ended, but neither of you noticed the credits rolling in the background. “That’s almost worse. Do I just walk up to some guy and say ‘hey, my boyfriend and I broke up so you should let me use you as a rebound so I can get over him’?” Your response quieted Eddie for a minute. Right when you went to apologize, he stopped you.
“What if it’s me?”
Your heart stopped beating. “What?”
“What if I’m your rebound?” You searched Eddie’s eyes for some kind of sign that he was joking, but you could tell he was completely serious.
“Eddie… I could never do that to you.”
“What if I want you to?”
That question struck you harder than Eddie’s initial suggestion of having a rebound. The idea of dating Eddie had crossed your mind before, many times. But this would be using him. “Why would you want that?”
“Because I want to be with you, and this may be the only way I can ever do that.” Your mouth fell open but Eddie wasn’t done yet. “You need someone right now. And I’m the one that’s here. Let me be what you need.”
Your brain was in such a state of shock that it couldn’t put the right words together. All that came out was “Eddie… I can’t— I don’t…”
“If you don’t have feelings for me, that’s fine, you don’t have to talk about it, just let me make the pain go away.” Eddie was pleading with you, begging you to use him; to walk all over him and throw him away. “Please.”
“I don’t want to ruin this…” You felt your eyes well up again, but the tears stayed in this time.
Eddie chuckled wetly, making you notice that he was crying too. “I already did… Even if you don’t accept my offer, you know that I’m in love with you. I can’t take that back, and I wouldn’t even if I could.” As if he could read your thoughts, Eddie continued. “You wouldn’t be using me. If anything, I’m taking advantage of your broken heart to have a chance with you… We can use each other.”
Now it was your turn to laugh. “That last sentence sounded vaguely dirty.”
“You just had to point that out, didn’t you?”
For a minute, you and Eddie just laughed. For that one minute things felt normal. It felt like your relationship with Eddie hadn’t completely shifted. But that minute ended and reality set back in. “So? What do you say?”
You looked into Eddie’s eyes once more and saw the same desperation from before. He truly wanted this. And you never could tell Eddie no when he really wanted something.
“Okay.”

Matthew Knies - I'll Try Anything Once
Tumblr media
I’ll Try Anything Once - The Strokes
Ten decisions shape your life, you’ll be aware of five about
Seven ways to go to school, either you’re noticed or left out
Since that first day of high school after the decision of moving by your parents took over your world, moving you from North Carolina to Arizona you couldn’t stop thinking about how you would decide your future. It was the first day of your freshman year, you didn’t know anyone leaving you many choices of who you would surround yourself with. It was the first period and you sat down in a seat, you were one of the first to class leaving you a wide variety of seats you could sit in. You picked the back corner forcing the people to come to you by choice if they didn’t then you’d have to go out in talk to someone or remain alone. The room started filling everyone was talking to each other, still, the seat next to you was empty. A moment passed and the bell rang, still empty, attendance started when a tall boy burst into the room.
“Sorry, I’m late,” he said catching his breath.
“You can sit in that seat,” the teacher pointed to the seat next to you, the boy looked at you and shrugged heading to the back of the room. You watched him approach the seat next to you. Attendance continued, going through the names of the class,
“Y/N,” you raised your hand,
“Here.”
“Matthew,”
“Here,” you looked at the boy next to you raising his hand. The teacher gave your first assignment of getting to know the person who would be your partner for the year, that was Matthew. You discovered he played hockey, but to you he was just a typical jock, not the nicest, very monotone, sneaking his phone out most of the time you talked to him.
Seven ways to get ahead, seven reasons to drop out
The year was starting to get intense, with more and more projects and more and more time with Matthew. You realized that he was not a fan of school, his grades were declining and he was ready to drop out, you found yourself doing most of your partnered assignments alone, but it wasn’t a problem you were ahead in all of your other classes, but he was looking forward to leaving school and playing juniors for the summer, but he wanted it now.
“Matt, please don’t talk like that,” you said.
“All I want is hockey, that’s what I want in life, I don’t need school to play hockey, grades whatever, it doesn’t matter,” he shouted while sitting in your desk chair in your room.
“Matt-”
“Y/N, you like school, I don’t it’s how it’s going to be, the one thing we don’t agree on in this partnership, understand it’s nothing with you, it’s just I can’t focus,”
“I get it, okay,” you nodded, he continued to write in his notebook,
“I’ll try and help a little, now I feel bad,” he sighed.
“Don’t feel bad.”
When I said “I can see me in your eyes,” you said, “I can see you in my bed”
That’s not just friendship that’s romance too, you’re like music we can dance to
It was your first time at Matt’s house, you were helping him in one of his other classes after his parents were not too happy with his results freshman year, and his sophomore year was not starting too hot either. You two had bonded as freshman year came to a close, and maybe you had developed some feelings for him spending so much time with him in and out of school, you even went to a few of his games which is something you couldn’t imagine yourself doing. The friend group you had developed went with you to the game and they made comments.
“Y/N you’re staring,” your friend Tara nudged you.
“Am not.”
“Oh girl, it’s so obvious,” your other friend Claire chimed in. After that, you realized that you did like him, but you couldn’t let your friends know, the quiet new kid with only a few friends, and one of the most popular boys in school.
The two of you were sitting on his bed looking over your physics textbook, he was beginning to understand. You had forgotten you were studying as the book sat on both of your laps, how close he was sitting was distracting you.
“Law of inertia right?” he asked you.
“Yes, yeah definitely,” you were flustered.
“You okay, you seem kinda out of it?” he asked.
“Yeah, I guess, might just need a brain break,”
“Me too,” he sighed leaning back on his bed. He lay there looking at you causing you to get even more flustered than before.
“Where do you want this?” you asked holding the textbook.
“On the floor is fine, I don’t really care, but you can lay back too, get comfortable.” With those last two words, you felt the butterflies in your stomach flap. You leaned back on the bed laying next to him. He turned to look at you,
“Wow, you have nice eyes,” he said, you felt your mouth begin to open from shock but quickly closed it, even more flustered.
“Thanks, you too, I can see me in yours,” you internally smacked your forehead after feeling so embarrassed by that statement. Was this flirting, maybe, do friends just lay on each other’s beds?
Sit me down, shut me up,
I’ll calm down, and I’ll get along with you
It was now finals week of your senior year, and you and Matt had become inseparable still as “friends” but there was definitely something going on. The two of you went to prom together, and he let you wear his jersey at games, you even made the trip to see one of his junior games, but still were labeled as friends. You were studying for your last exam and both of you were stressing, there was still one concept Matt wasn’t understanding and it was causing him to panic.
“I can’t do this Y/N, no matter how many times I try this type of problem I always get it wrong, I follow the steps but I can’t, I need to pass this, Minnesota will freak, and what about the NHL huh what if-” He aggressively rubbed his head and slammed his book shut, standing up from your desk chair.
“Matt, breathe, it’s fine let’s come back to it okay.” You put your hands on his shoulders and sat him down on your bed.
“I can’t stop now, I have to keep going, I won’t be able to relax until I get this right, I’ve worked so hard and now I’m falling apart-” you cut him off.
“Matt, breathe, ‘cause now you are going to stress me out.” You stood over him sitting, and as you gazed into his eyes, his hands found your hips, and you blushed.
“Sorry Y/N,” he said softly,
“No don’t apologize I get it, finals are stressful, trust me there’s stuff I’m not understanding, don’t even get me started with-” he cut you off this time pulling you to him and pressing his lips to yours. You were shocked, but at the same time, you were enjoying yourself. You pulled away from the kiss looking at him once again,
“You shut me up,” you said.
“And you sat me down, couldn’t stand hearing either of us stress any longer,” he let go of you.
“So you kissed me?” you asked confused.
“It was a thought that took over, but look we are both calm now,” he smiled, “sorry that came out wrong, look I wanted to kiss you okay?”
“Oh, really? Why?” you played dumb.
“Uhh I like you Y/N, even through all our ups and downs we always get along,” you sat down next to him, “and don’t try to argue out of this,”
“I’m not, I like you too, like a lot,” he scooted closer to you.
“So can I do that again?” you shot him a smug look.
“What do you think dummy?” You leaned in, pressing your lips to his, he wrapped his arms around you, and your hands found the back of his neck. He pulled away for air after a moment and smiled,
“I’m not quite sure what I think,” he grinned.
“You’re annoying,” you shoved him.
“Hey,” he exclaimed shoving back.
“Fine, I’ll get along with you,” you said kissing him once again.

tell me what’s your wish !!
IN WHICH;; sunghoon doesn’t know what to get y/n for her bday (inspired by tomorrow x together’s wishlist)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“ It's all going wrong // I might as well confess // I like you ,,
PAIRING: p.sunghoon x fem!reader
GENRE: high school romance | fluff | bff to lovers
WORD COUNT: 0.9k words
WARNINGS: nothing but a little bit of cursing I think(? (lmk if there’s anything else pls)
A/N: I’ve been holding onto this since I opened my tumblr out of panic if it’s good enough or not :(( I hope to publish more often from now onwards ^^
Just like any other day, the guys were laying around in Jake’s living room, waiting for their turn to come while Niki’s and Heeseung’s game was taking more than expected.
— Are you planning to finish today? Because I might just leave, I have a present to buy— Sunghoon exclaimed after some other complaints from the boys.
— You haven’t bought y/n’s gift yet?— Sunoo gasped dramatically.
— Dude, you’re in problems— Jay added— Remember what she got you last year? She outdid all of us.
— Not me. I knew Noona’s present would be better, so I tagged along— Niki replied, his eyes still fixed on the tv screen.
— Yah, that’s not fair— it was Jungwon who talked this time —Noona always has the best ideas.
— Shut up, you all are making me feel guilty— Sunghoon interrupted.
— As you should— Sunoo answered, sassily— How come you haven’t got her anything? Her birthday it’s like what? Next week?
— In five days— he responded, almost in a whisper, while brushing his hair with his hand— The thing is, I’ve been meaning to trick her into telling me something she wants; but somehow I always get distracted— he confessed, frustrated.
— What if you just tell her that you have the biggest crush on her already— said Jake, while eating some jelly.
Sunghoon felt his face becoming hotter— W-what?— he stuttered.
— Hyung, we are not stupid, you obviously like noona— Jungwon spoke.
— And she likes you back— Heeseung added, finally winning the game. Sunghoon just blushed even more.
— Actually, it would be a gift to all of us having you two date— Jay commented.
— Yeah, it’s getting weirder being around when you get all lovey dovey— Niki agreed. In that moment, the boy buried his face in a pillowcase while the rest of the friend group kept making fun of him.
🎧☁️🫖🩹
Sunghoon took a big breath before the class door. It was finally the day.
Although at first his friends’ words had sounded crazy to him, after putting some thought in the issue, he had realized they were right. Well, at least in some parts, since he was almost sure that the sentiments he felt towards his best friend were not reciprocate. But he was done holding himself back, he had taken the decision of confessing and nothing was stopping him.
Despite his determination, he started shaking the moment he saw the first person exiting the classroom. Regardless, he waited patiently, well aware that y/n usually took a long time during tests. He even saw Sunoo, who gave him a thumbs up before leaving.
— Sunghoon-ah! How can I have a worse luck, I just did horrible in that exam. And on my birthday!— he was spacing out, but the tension returned as soon as the well-known voice reached his ears.
— Hey. Are you okay?— the girl, now standing in front of him asked, preoccupied.
He quickly put on a smile —Yeah, sure. How could I be not okay if I’m here to pick you up for your birthday?
— I’ve just spoke to you informally and you are not angry at all?— she questioned back, rhetorically.
— That’s not- Wait. You did what?— his expression dropped, suddenly annoyed.
In a matter of seconds, they were running around the school; laughing while Sunghoon tried to catch the girl. They were already getting tired once they arrived to the backyard, when she tripped in the grass. He stepped out the pace, frightened.
— y/n! Are you okay?— he asked, bending over her. And before he could’ve realized, the younger had already dragged him towards the floor with her, laughing.
— You are a little disrespectful son of a-— he started rambling, sitting down beside her.
— Hoon— he was interrupted— Thanks. I thought that test would ruin my mood for the rest of the day, but you already made it so much better— she continued, encircling him with her arms— Seriously, thank you.
The boy became flustered under the physical contact. He moved backwards, slowly creating a distance between them; yet holding the younger one by the hands.
— y/n, there is something you need to know— he started, arousing her curiosity— And I don’t think I will be able to ever tell you if I don’t say it right now.
— Are you sure everything it’s okay? You’re scaring me— she responded, putting a hand on his shoulder.
— Yes! Yes. Just… I’ve been holding this for such a long time— he took what felt like the hundredth big breath of the day, rising his head to stare directly at his companion’s eyes— Shit, this is much more difficult than what Jake told me— the guy moaned while lying down on the ground and covering his face with his hands.
— I’m losing my patience, just tell me at once!— she exclaimed, hitting him on the side.
— Yah, that’s not how you treat someone who is confessing to you— he shouted back, instantly regretting it.
The silence grew between them. Sunghoon immediately stood up awkwardly, afraid of facing the younger who remained sat on the ground.
— That’s it?— she suddenly asked— That was the thing you were dying to tell?
— It may not be that important to you, but you could just say “I don’t like you back” instead of acting as if it was irrelevant— he sounded upset.
— Hoon, either you’re blind or just stupid— she laughed, walking towards him.
— Now I’m being insulted too?— he reclaimed, falsely resentful, his mood getting lighter with her giggling.
— Sunghoon! Can’t you tell already?— she smiled, standing right in front of him.
— I like you back, dumbass— that’s the last thing she said before dragging him on what became their first kiss.

Dating Sophie From Woods And Beyond Would Include ( School For Good And Evil )
Fandom: School For Good And Evil ( Movie Version )
Tags: Fanfiction. One shot. Romance. Fairy Tail. Fantasy
Warnings: None, A little violence and drama.
G! N Reader x Sophie
~
Tumblr media
Ever
• Let's be honest you will have to be an Ever or in the school. She would never like you if you were the opposite.
• If you were an Ever. She would love you instantly, would always pamper you and take care of you.
• She can always be herself around you. She isn't her normal evil self around you. She just loves you entirely and no one can tell her otherwise.
• Agatha was shocked when she found out you and her best friend were dating. She honestly didn't think Sophie would date someone like you.
• Be prepared for Hort to target you. The boy has his eyes set on the beautiful blonde the moment he was her. And he feels like she belongs to him. So yeah... Be prepared.
• If you were an Never pretending to be an Ever she would still love you. Or an Ever pretending to be an Never. She can't judge she was an Never thought she was an Ever Princess all her life. Much to her disappointment.
• It didn't matter what gender you were. She would find some way to play with your hair. No matter the length or size. She loved your hair regardless. No matter if it was straight or kinky.
• I feel like Sophie would be the overprotective type. If you were her true love, you can imagine the anger she'll feel if someone would lay one single finger on you.
• It wouldn't come to that.... Ever!
• Loves to show you off. You are hers for Eternity... Rather you like it or not.
Never
• let's be honest it would take a little time for her to be with you. She would see you as another Hort.
• But believe it or not, you wouldn't / didn't carry yourself like a never. You carried yourself like a ever. Always clean, shaved and etc.
• after two weeks of being there. She would start to notice you. She sees that you were kinda a little helpful about things and all that.
• She didn't approach you. You approach her. You and her we're walking down a. Hall, you on the opposite side. Smirking you took the opportunity to make her yours.
Hello Love, and where are you going on this fine day? You ask.
She frowned at you and tried to move past, but you blocked her way
Where are you going? I want you to go to the Nevers ball with me?.
You wish!
• she frowned and you let her go. She would be yours and when she become yours...
• After a little time passed and she grew tired of running away from you. She gave up and finally she wanted to be with you. She decided to give you a chance.
• She always wanted to be with and from the moment she saw you.
• The first kiss you two shared was at the ball and was captured and placed in the history book.
• I figure since people assume Nevers / Evil souls shouldn't be together ( Since it was impossible ) but since you were half-good and evil. You got a pass.
• A lot of people didn't like it at all.
• Pretty much you both lives would be ruined. Because you both would be targets. You would have to fight for your life and hers.
• It didn't matter to you. You loved her and she was yours.
• When graduation came, you two graduated with high scores ( Thanks to you ) and kinda live a somewhat happy life?
• You had three children with her.
• All were placed in good and evil.
Bonus Scene
" So y/n do you actually like me?".
You looked away from the beautiful sky and looked at the love of your life.
Tumblr media
" It's beautiful here, Sophie".
You smiled at her and nodded. " Sure, I do. You are the love of my life". She steps close to you, and you grab her face and leaned down pressing your lips against hers.
Smiling into the kiss, you pulled away and kissed her gently on the lips and kissed the tip of his nose.
" I love you Sophie" You beamed at her.
Sophie smiled at you ( The Realistic smile she can give you )
" I love you too, Y/N.".

hi ummm this isn’t a queued post n it’s also kinda dumb but if you wanted some insight into my Psyche (and one of the reasons i announced i was stepping away from tumblr for a few days) ...
as some of you may or may not know, i have an ex who i remain on good terms with. he’s the one i based my take on oikawa in my first hq fic until we break on. initially, that was it: he was hurting, but i was not. i didn’t take him back and even told him that i didn’t really believe in getting back together with an ex so soon after breaking up.
and initially, that was it.
but in the past few weeks, it seems like we’ve switched roles. it’s something that weighed on me heavily, especially because he used to be my go-to for any and all issues i had, whether i wanted to just air my grievances or get actual advice. (of course, it’s hard to pluck up the courage to confide in someone when they’re the problem.)
i held onto my pride for so long because he was finally looking like he was moving on and i didn’t want to be Toxic or anything like that — we’ve always been good friends and i didn’t want to do anything to risk that. but the night i announced my semi-semi-hiatus, the proverbial dam broke and i like . had a full breakdown over it .... it wasn’t pretty 🧍🏻‍♂️
but after coming to terms with everything that’s transpired and being able to parse the truth from what i’ve idealized and what i’ve chased after, i think i’m finally in a headspace where i can move on from him in the Real Way and not a patchwork job held together by 2d anime men and romance anime.
my take on angstcember (done in a similar format to my take on fluffvember) consists of fics related to him because he was my biggest source of angst at the time, and i’ve already outlined the main points for those fics so i won’t be changing it LMAO but i’m really happy to finally feel good enough to say i can realistically see a day where i no longer listen to the playlist i made in the wake of our breakup yk ...
if you’re reading this ... thank you for dealing w me saying all the shit i can’t say on my finsta bc he’s on it BDNSNSN i promise we’re still good friends and that he’s a legitimately good person who i want the best for, even if it’s not me. it’s early in the morning on september 9 for me, but i will definitely be back by the 11th!!! this break has been rlly beneficial to me in more ways than one, and i’m excited to return :-)

ii .  what  he  doesn’t  have -  p.p. x stark!reader
synopsis : being a stark means that almost everyone is chasing after you for schoolwork help, being a “genius’s” daughter. so, what happens when you happen to be paired for a project with the one and only flash thompson – with your boyfriend, peter parker, in the same class?
warnings : mild swearing, insecure pete :(, flash being a bully as always
a/n : thank you for the compliment and request, angel! i’ve tried my best to get our boy’s insecure and jealous side down, but please bear with me if it’s off at all. ps; it may be a little rushed? <3
word count : 2,737
Tumblr media
all you’ve known since you were a kid were luxuries, crime-scenes, and a fair share of booksmarts. all thanks to your surname; stark.
yeah, a part of you enjoyed the whispers of awe, the freebies you got when you were out. but school? that was a whole other situation in itself.
you were constantly surrounded and berated by students, offering cash, – as if you needed any more – snacks, their souls, for you to do their projects, finals, or homework for them. though you could understand where they came from, it did nothing to soothe your anxiety and annoyance.
the only thing that did help, was your boyfriend. peter benjamin parker.
each morning he awaited you at your locker, doe-eyes locked onto you like you were the moon and sun. under his gaze, everything melted away, and you felt as if you were wrapped in a freshly washed blanket.
but, lets not get ahead of ourselves. after all, every relationship, no matter how loving, comes with its downsides. you and peter’s?
jealousy.
when you weren’t spending every moment of every day together, peter would watch you as you got flocked by hopeful, puppy-loving boys and girls. though you’d always proudly shown your boyfriend off to the world, it didn’t exactly stop the declarations of ‘love’ from rolling in.
and today was really no different. you and peter walked hand-in-hand down the halls of midtown high, floating above everyone else, whispering in each others ears, grins plastered on your faces. to everyone else, it looked as though you were exchanging compliments, words of romance.
but, what you were really discussing?
what the two of you wanted to research for today’s announced chemistry project.
“what about the fritz harber’s experiments?” you offered, wrecking your brain for ideas. you knew that your teacher would provide everyone lists of suggestions, but you had always preferred to think of something on your own. the lists were your fallback plan.
“that feels more like a history subject,” he countered, biting his lip. “other than going into detail about chemical warfare – which, again; history – there isn’t much we can do.”
you threw your head back in exasperation, wishing you could fall to the floor then and there. this project had to be perfect. it was your ticket to m.i.t., or any ivy league college, for that matter.
the two of you volleyed suggestions back and forth, bickering, laughing, and brooding, ‘till you reached the open door to ms. warren’s classroom. peter gave your hand a gentle squeeze, a reassurance. even if it took a few hours of brainstorming, you’d come up with something. you had to.
you strayed from him, taking your assigned seat a few tables away. you weren’t a big fan of the arrangement, but you knew the teacher only wanted the best for you. especially after peter and you had wasted days worths of time whispering to each other, when you should have been paying attention.
the rest of the class tumbled in as the bell chimed, sitting in their respective corners, voices dialing down to a hush as ms. warren stood, a stack of papers – what you assumed to be the project rubric – in her hands.
“class,” she curtly nodded. “i believe we all know what today is, yes?”
you all muttered your agreements, shifting in your chairs, eger to get to work. you didn’t have much time to complete it, after all; only a week. normally, you’d get two. or more.
the lady grinned in approval, thumbing through the stack, pulling out a singular list from the bunch. “now, normally, i would let you guys choose your groups. but, upon recent mishaps,” her eyes narrowed to two boys, who had caused a minor fire while goofing off in class during the last project, “i’ve taken … extra precautions. i’ve decided to arrange partners by last name. if all goes well, you can return to your normal pairs.”
you shot up in year seat, alarms going off in your head. you and peter’s eyes met at the same moment, both of you pouty and distraught. this would be one of the first projects you would do separately.
the teacher began reading off a list of names, passing out yellow-print rubrics as she brushed between tables.
you fiddled with the bent edge of your paper, waiting for her to near the ‘s’ section.
what didn’t occur to you, was that you were the only ‘s’ in the class.
“eugene – flash – thompson, and y/n stark,” she went on until she hit the end of the list with a click of her tongue. she found her way back to her desk, sitting cross-legged upon her plush seat. before any of your peers could whine in protest, she waved her finger, eyes shooting daggers. or, more accurately, threats of an ‘F’ on your papers. “if i hear any one of you complain, i won’t hesitate to try this experiment again,”
needless to say, the lot of you shut up.
“off you go,” she announced with the wave of her hand. off you went, indeed; the classroom was a mess, students trying to find their partners – some even struggling to figure out who, exactly, they were paired with. it was a frenzy.
but, it was no issue for you.
how could it be, when you were with the flamboyant, arrogant, rather bastardous flash. you’d despised him ever since liz’s house party, when he had publicly made a fool of poor peter parker. you were a tad bit annoyed at ned, too – but that was a different story. ned was still one of your best friends. but flash? god, he was just a bully.
you slid into the seat next to him, and though you met his gaze, your eyes were anything but kind. “listen here eugene,” you huffed, “i’m just here to get our work done. this does not mean i see you as anything more than trash.”
flash scoffed, as though to cover up the fact that he was (very obviously) butt-hurt. “i don’t need to hear that from someone with penis-parker. it’s flash, by the way. not eugene.”
you chuckled, fiddling with the end of your number two pencil. “right, sorry eugene. but i don’t think you should talk that way to someone with such close contact to your beloved spider-man.”
he puckered his lips, face growing sour. “oh, come on. everyone loves spider-man. he’s awesome. i’m not abnormal, like your boy-toy. unless you’re referring to my good looks and class.” he wiggled his brows, and though it wasn’t his intent, you only cackled louder at his unwavering cockiness.
earning a glance from peter.
the poor boy, already brooding from ms. warren’s new arrangement, seemed to deflate further. he couldn’t exactly pick up what you were talking about. all he saw was your face lighting up, laughing at – what he assumed to be – a stupid joke made by his bully.
throughout the period, you and flash bickered to no end. poking fun at each other's hair, clothes, even your friends. though you both had malicious intent, peter couldn’t help but catch flash slipping up; his hand lingering next to yours, even when you pushed him away, calling you silly nicknames, though you angrily told him to stop. the way he brushed the hair out of your face, before you swatted his hand away, threatening to chop his beloved body parts off. the whites of your boyfriend’s knuckles showed, him wishing he could simply pounce off the walls and leave a bruise on the other’s sad mistake of a face.
when the bell rung, you didn’t hesitate to hop off the chair quick as lighting, snatching up your notebook and pens. you didn’t even bother to bid flash good-bye, even when he extended a card with his number plastered in gold letters.
a card that you ignored. what sort of stuck-up kid carried a fake business card with them?
slinging your backpack over a shoulder, you skipped over to pete, mindlessly taking his hand; a habit you gathered a month into dating. he seemed to squeeze your fingers tighter than usual, and though you thought nothing of it, it didn’t stop you from noticing as you left the school house.
on the way back to peter’s apartment, the boy seemed awfully quiet. he even refused to look you in the eye, syrup-brown eyes gazing into storm drains, or up at street lamps. though, they seemed so far off, as if he wasn’t truly present. you had been chattering on-and-off for the entire ten minute walk home, stopping only when you realized he really wasn't content on responding, no matter how many times you called his name. for someone whose senses were dialed to, like, two hundred, he sure was good at ignoring situations.
you had iterated the same question six times to him, before you gave up, your grip on his hand growing tighter, as if you were afraid he would let go.
reaching his loft number, he unlocked the front door, calling out for aunt may.
not home. likely getting takeout, he had suggested gruffly.
peter dropped his bag down next to yours, making a beeline for his bedroom; the room you’d spent so many sleepless nights together in.
you followed him, hand colder now that he let you go. “pete, are you okay?” you asked gently, sitting next to him on the bed, your shoulders touching. the boy moved impossibly closer, burying his face in the crook of your neck, arms encircling your waist.
he was only this needy after a bad day.
“peter?” you whispered, lips pulled into a frown. “hey, talk to me. did i do something? you know you can tell me anything. i won’t look down on you.”
“you will,” he responded, pulling his head back to look at you, at last. his usually soft eyes seemed sharper, sculpted with anger. “it’s – it’s not you i’m angry with. flash; he should know who you belong to. not that you’re an object! i just – i just can’t. i can’t watch him take the only thing that i have to myself. he shouldn’t have been touching you, your hands, your face –”
your stare softened, cupping his pouting face in both your hands. ‘that’s what this fuss is about? flash? i knew it was a special case. these things happen wayyy to much for it to have just been normal jealousy.”
he leaned into your touch, nodding as he pressed his lips to the palm of your hand. “he gets everything he wants. and people don’t even actually like him! he’s mean, and annoying, and …” his voice broke, and with it, so did your heart. “you’re the only thing of mine that he doesn’t have.”
his sniffles had you wiping salty tears from his pink cheeks, the once harsh gaze in his eyes now soft. sad. “you know how i feel about flash. he’s a total bitch.”
“but you laughed with him. i’m telling you; he’s trying to take you, to get to me. and he’s better, in more ways than one. he’s rich. confident.”
“laughed with him?” you breathed a ghost of a giggle. “pete, i was laughing at him. the idiot’s the most hypocritical, egotistical ass in the world. even my dad couldn’t beat him there. and, why would i ever need his wealth?”
“... you’ve got a point,” peter huffed, sucking on his teeth. “but he touched you … still …”
“and i told him off for it,” you shrugged, thumbs rubbing his cheekbones. “you know i wouldn’t let anyone else do that with me.”
“y/n, am i stupid? for getting jealous?” he asked meekly, swallowing the lump in his throat. he’d been pondering the question during the walk home, shutting out all noise in the process. after all, you had rejected his enemy’s moves bluntly. you hadn’t even accepted his phone number. but it still bugged him. he knew you wouldn’t ever leave him for eugene thompson of all people, but having anyone show romantic interest in you was like a knife to the heart.
your brows narrowed. “stupid? no, pete, never. that guy’s the dumb one, for ever thinking he had a chance against you,” you scoffed. “i mean, he has a mustache, for thor’s sake.”
the joke lured a gurgle of a laugh from your companion. “thank’s, y/n/n,” he murmured, bringing his face closer to yours, inch by inch.
when his lips captured yours, you savored it. if you hadn’t been sitting, you would have collapsed, your knees feeling so week at his touch. it was different, this time. normally, his kisses were sweet, short. endearing. but in that moment, it was greedy, almost devouring, as if he was happy to simply drown in the essence of you. he tasted like blueberry pie, and you were more than eager to explore it all, the fluttering in your stomach something you could never get used to, and –
“you kids home?” a feminine voice called from the corridor. you pounced off of peter, stumbling back, up against his closet.
“yeah,” he shouted, though his voice was that of a mouse. he looked at you for approval, red blotting his cheeks and nose. you couldn’t help but burst out laughing, the poor guy in front of you very obviously distraught.
you heard shuffling in the background, plastic bags being undone. “lovely!” may hummed. “i got us tacos. i was going to make a stir-fry, but …”
“it’s fine, may. thank you,” you said through strings of giggles. you offered peter an outstretched hand, which he gratefully took, pulling himself off the bed. you knew he could do it on his own with ease, but the small action touched his heart.
you laced your fingers through his, leading him into the dining room, takeout boxes neatly unfolded. “is something wrong?” may asked doubtfully, eyeing peter’s puffy eyes and flushed face. you wore a devil’s grin, which your boyfriend could only take as, ‘we’ve got a new story to tell your aunt.’
and there was certainly no backing you down.
the rest of the night was spent on the three of you laughing over your dinner, peter pouting as you gleefully exposed his fit only moments ago (making sure to leave out the insecure bits. you weren’t willing to shatter his trust in you, after all).
needless to say, it was 2:45 a.m. by the time peter swung you back to the tower.
a week had passed, and you were exhausted. each meeting you had with flash, the more you seemed to hate the guy. it had gotten to the point where you gave him an ultimatum; if he talked to you about anything that wasn’t related to the project, you would ‘show spidey his fan-accounts.’ specifically, the embarrassing ones, like when he theorized that spider-man was the lovechild of tony stark and some monstrous spider-queen.
a scene you really didn’t need to visualize, regarding your dad.
and it worked. he stopped touching you, stopped talking to you outside of your class time. he even stopped making fun of peter, when you were around. which was basically all the time.
but now, the two of you were wrapping up your presentation. you had spent hours and sleepless nights on your gadget. even pete had pitched in some help, which you thankfully repaid him for by helping code his own machine.
you dramatically bowed at the end of your speech, earning a laugh from your peers. the last project of the day, finally completed. hopping off the mini-stage, you skittered to your lover, letting him wrap you in an embrace. “i’m so proud of you!” he cheered, ruffling your hair.
you made a noise similar to whining, ducking to avoid the further messing up of your appearance. “i don’t think anyone could top yours, though.”
he grinned like a little kid, his chest puffing with pride. you were so focused on cooing over him, that you hadn’t noticed your project partner sauntering in your direction.
“yo, y/n/n! i think we work pretty well together. we sho–”
“don’t talk to my girlfriend,” peter snapped, grip on your silhouette tightening.
you nodded in approval, rubbing his back. “you tell him, baby,” you sniggered, joyful that your boyfriend had so openly shot down the bastard.
… and, seeing flash’s baffled face was a plus, you supposed.

“Granny, why are you giving me that look?” You asked worriedly.
Your grandma had a devious smirk as she leaned in closer to you, arms crossed.
“You mean to tell me that you’ve been in close proximity with such a fine specimen of a man all of this time?”
Her eyes flitted back to the man who had been working in the open field of rice. Your gaze followed suit.
Your eyes widened, “Don’t say that so loud, Granny!”
“What? Can’t I enjoy the finer things in life?” Your grandma shrugged with a grin.
“Granny…” You groaned.
“So you agree? Yumie’s grandson is quite handsome?” The older woman wiggled her eyebrows.
“Granny, you came here to visit Yumie-sama, not harass me,” you whined.
“Oh, I’m just teasing you, y/n. But if I were you, I wouldn’t mind being slinged over his shoulder like that sack of rice he’s carrying right now,” she elbowed your side and wiggled her eyebrows again.
You looked back over to Kita as he did have a large sack of rice on his shoulder. His bicep flexed as he had his arm hooked around the sack.
“You’re not helping,” you pouted and looked away, trying to hide your flushed expression.
“I’m old, not dead, y/n,” she smiled, “I’m just saying that you better not miss your chance with that man.”
You sighed.
“Well, I better go see Yumie!” The older woman exclaimed before whispering, “He’s walking towards you.”
Your eyes widened as your head turned, noticing that Kita was indeed getting closer and closer to you. When you turned back, your grandma was nowhere in sight.
“That woman is in her early 80s, and she dashed out like Sonic,” you muttered.
“What was that?”
You whipped around to find Kita setting down the sack of rice onto the ground. Pink dusted your cheeks as you stared at him. Your eyes were glued onto the way the muscles in his arms moved.
“Oh, it’s nothing,” you said lightly as you looked away.
Kita stood up and glanced at you with gentle eyes. He stayed quiet as tried to tactically come up with something else to say. Your hands were clasped together as you lightly chewed the bottom of your lip. The corners of Kita’s lips slightly tugged up.
You looked back at Kita. He had a light expression on his face. Your eyes quickly flickered down onto his lips and widened. It was a rare sight to find the Kita Shinsuke to smile. You had only ever seen him smile at his grandma.
But this? He was smiling at you. He was smiling because of you.
The interactions you had with one another were small. Kita was often out in the fields while you stayed inside and tended to the house chores.
But you were both oblivious to the stolen glances you gave to one another. Whenever you were in the kitchen, you would sneak glances at the man working out in the fields. And with Kita? Well, he was always delighted every time he was able to catch you in his vision.
Kita didn’t know when it happened. But he knows that the way he looked at you started to change when he saw you hooking your arm with his grandma’s to help her walk down the stairs.
You weren’t quite sure when it happened either. Maybe it was Kita’s politeness? Or was it the fact that he was quite literally husband material, which didn’t help the fact that you were a sucker for romance?
Nevertheless, the two of you were quite unprepared for the moment you found yourselves in… together, that is. Kita smiling at you. Your eyes shining up at him in subtle awe in response.
“Uh,” you broke the silence, “are you hungry?”
You inwardly cringed at yourself, but Kita’s smile grew bigger because your question just created the perfect segway for him.
“Yes,” he nodded before adding, “one of my friends from high school owns this restaurant that’s quite popular.”
“Oh, is it good in your opinion?” You asked, a blush creeping up onto your face.
Kita nodded again, “I think so. Would you like to come with me?”
You froze, eyes slightly widening. You had been dreaming of this for the longest time, but now that it came to a reality, it utterly stunned you.
Your silence slightly discouraged Kita as he put on another smile, “It’s ok if you don’t wan-”
“No, I want to,” you blurted.
You shyly turned away.
“I’m actually glad that you asked me…”
Kita smiled before gently taking your hand into his and guiding you out of the house. You nearly malfunctioned as your gaze stayed on your entwined hands.
“See, I told you they would look good together, Yumie!” Your grandma smirked triumphantly.
The two older woman peered out of the window, watching the two of you walk away hand in hand.
“My little Shin finally made a move,” Yumie sighed in exasperation as she wiped off imaginary sweat from her forehead.
Your grandma turned to Yumie and held her hand out. Yumie grabbed her hand and shook it.
Your grandma grinned, “It was wonderful doing business with you.”
