@ohcoolnice @whyyoudo I couldn't get the concept of han seok and junwoo being two different people out of my head so on this vincenzo-less sunday I give you a loose rewrite of canon where jun woo is the third jang brother and han seok's twin!

They were born jang han seok and jang han sol, and han seok is the older twin. They were separated when they were very young, because of han seok and an incident which ended up with han sol in the hospital. It was supposed to be temporary, but one of the house staff took pity on the poor child and smuggled him away. His name was changed to jun woo and they didn't find him again until both him and han seok were adults

They grew up very differently, han seok under the jang family, tormenting han seo and becoming the unhinged, solitary figure we all know and hate, and jun woo in an adopted family somewhere across the country into the dorky, sweet intern we knew for a bit and loved

Both of them somehow ended up spending time in america, though neither knew and they never met. Han seok because his father sent him there and jun woo because he got a scholarship to go to university there

Very few people now know about han seok himself, much less his twin brother. Before han seok's chairman takeover, most people think han seo is the only jang child

Jun woo knows he has a twin brother, but he doesnt know who he is. He can't remember his name or his face, or those of his real family. When he receives an offer for a job at wusang, he takes it as a learning opportunity and accepts

The only one who has all the cards is han seok, and so when he hears that jun woo has become an intern at wusang he decides its time to play them

So he spends people to observe and record jun woo, and after things start heating up and chayenzo declares war on babel, he kidnaps and threatens him, and tells him that he has to let him cosplay as him so that he can scope out the increasing threat

This is not how jun woo had ever thought meeting his long lost twin brother would go. He tries to put up a fight, but han seok hits him in the stomach with the hockey stick he's wielding like some kind of ancient weapon so hard that he spits out blood, and that takes the fight out of him

Han seok crouches down in front of jun woo and stares him in the eye, and it's like looking into a mirror except his reflection is staring at him with chillingly blank eyes.

It's the same for han seok, except his reflection looks back with open terror. The feeling it gives him is unpleasant and han seok doesn't like seeing weakness like that on a face that could pass for his own. But if he wants to get what he wants, he can't harm his twin too much just yet

Visually they're identical, so han seok passes perfectly for jun woo. He doesn't get all his mannerisms right at first, but with practice basically no one can tell the difference unless they look hard enough to notice that han seok's eyes are always empty even when he's copying jun woo's biggest grin.

A part of han seok feels a flash of jealousy at the fact that his twin has had a pleasant and fulfilling life while he's had to live neglected in the shadows for so long, so he takes extra satisfaction in the way jun woo's face falls when he appears in front of him for the first time dressed in his work attire, indistinguishable from jun woo on the average week day, backpack and all.

To spite him even further, han seok mimics his cheery, enthusiastic way of speaking, smiling so widely that it's mocking, and embraces the glee that jun woo's downtrodden expression gives him

He does hate having to curl his hair to copy jun woo's usual hairstyle though

At this point han seo finds out he has a second older brother, because han seok wants him to be able to continue to act normal and not freak out if he sees him cosplaying as jun woo

This brother is identical to his other one but actually really nice to him and it's both incredible and completely terrifying. It takes han seo a while to warm up to jun woo because he looks so much like han seok, as well as for fear of han seok's reaction, but he gets there

Whenever they meet (usually bc of han seok) the two bond over their shared fear and hatred of han seok. There's twice the himbo power. Incredible

Jun woo had had no idea that he had a younger (half) brother, and his heart goes out to him for having to live under han seok's abuse for so long

So he makes an effort to get to know han seo when han seok isn't around to yell at them. Han seo appreciates this a lot, because jun woo is like han seok on his incredibly rare good days except much better and all the time

Being a veteran at Handling Han SeokTM, he gives jun woo tips on how to get on han seok's good side and avoid getting things thrown at you

Jun woo tells han seo that one day when they get free of han seok they should take a trip to disneyland. Han seo, who has never been to an amusement park before, makes him promise it

Han seok's babel boss reveal presentation goes more or less the same way, except it's also a twin reveal and choi myung hee and mr han have to deal with the fact that not only is their intern the babel chairman's twin brother, but they have also been switching places regularly

Meanwhile cha young, who is out there living her best anti big pharma life, thinks jun woo is acting weird. Some days he's super bubbly, almost too bubbly, and on other days he's more subdued, seemingly a bit on edge.

Biggest red flag comes when she, him and vincenzo eat spicy food together

The spicy food tolerance gene missed han seok altogether and endowed han seo and jun woo with its power

So though he doesn't protest when cha young orders the extremely spicy dish jun woo usually gets for him, han seok struggles to finish the food almost as much as vincenzo does

Cha young thinks that's really sus, but she keeps her questions to herself because there's really no explanation for it unless jun woo was replaced by a government clone or aliens. Or his secret identical twin. Hah, imagine

She files the thought away for later and they continue to dig into the man behind han seo and babel. They find out about han seok, but there's no remaining information about jun woo in the files because the jang family thought losing him was supremely embarrassing so they tried to make sure no one knew

Meanwhile han seok is super happy he's gained another protective shield. If babel gets into trouble he can force han seo to go to jail for him, and if he ever gets personally exposed he can make jun woo take the fall for him. Genius

For that purpose he makes sure no one except the babel quartet know about him and jun woo being twins

He finds that it's interesting living as jun woo though, people interact with him in a way they never do when he's han seok. Jun woo's neighbours say hello to him when he goes by, and the lady in the local convenience store makes small talk with him and asks how his new job is going. And cha young is an incredibly unusual person, han seok finds that he has some level of attraction to her, and enjoys her company

While han seo is a puppet, jun woo is a mask, a protective measure and a means to explore the world, and han seok mentally pats himself on the back for having such useful brothers

But he has to stop spending time pretending to be jun woo for now bc he knows his identity is at risk of being discovered by jipuragi squad as they hunt down the person who exposed vincenzo as a mafia member

So when vincenzo does find out that han seok is allegedly jun woo, and tells cha young, it actually isn't han seok she's sitting with when she receives the news

Naturally she doesn't know this, and she feels supremely betrayed

And when vincenzo breaks into 'han seok's' house, it's actually jun woo's house. Jun woo, who was not expecting the mafia to break into his house, is understandably scared. The kneeling gun scene goes down, except there is no bravado on jun woo's part and he's genuinely terrified

Vincenzo is arrested as planned, and jun woo meets cha young in the police station as she goes to help vincenzo

She's furious, and jun woo honestly denies that it was him who killed her father and the babel victims, unable to expose that it was han seok because he's scared of the consequences and because it sounds like such a ridiculous excuse

Poor guy gets the double slap intended for his twin brother

When han seok hears about it he laughs a lot. Jun woo is understandably angry about his reaction, but he is forced to seethe in silence

Nevertheless han seok decides to go into hiding (and forces jun woo to do the same somewhere else, hiring guards to make sure he doesn't leave) because even if chayenzo think jun woo is the babel chairman, they still have the same face

Unfortunately for han seok this means that vincenzo's spy squad see him going into his own safe house, and he gets to be the victim of the drugged water

After a few more near death scares courtesy of the local mafia man, choi myung hee suggests he reveal himself as chairman so he doesn't die at the hands of vincenzo unknown and like a loser. And so he does

At the expense of jun woo, whose identity has more or less been stolen now, and who is now indefinitely confined to the family property han seok had him hide in

The war begins all out, and jipuragi squad works hard at removing han seok's support circle, starting with daechang daily, then the anti-union activities

Han seo watches all this unfold and starts to wonder how he can get his better older brother free while taking down the other one

The answer comes to him when he sees chayenzo cover han seok with pigs blood. They're the only people who seemed to consistently be able to one up han seok, and he has only heard good things about cha young from jun woo, not to mention the fact that surely even han seok can't defeat a mafia member in the long run

So he asks mr han to help him meet vincenzo, and he tells him he has twin older brothers and asks for his help in betraying the bad one and saving the good one

Vincenzo thinks he's messing with him, and turns down han seo's request to be on the same side

But then jipuragi squad opens the guillotine file, and there below han seok's escapades in homicide and the details on han seo's suffering, is the shocking secret of the jang family, the existence of a 3rd jang brother, han seok's twin brother jang han sol

Cha young remembers how jun woo hadn't been able to eat spicy food that one time and suddenly everything makes sense

For his part vincenzo remembers what han seo had said and mentally kicks himself for thinking it was a lie

They puzzle over what this could mean and where han seok's twin brother could be now. Is the man who revealed himself as the babel chairman the real han seok? Are both of them evil? Is one being used by the other?

Cha young silently wonders which times jun woo had just been jun woo, and which times she had been eating lunch or joking with han seok the babel chairman and serial murderer

They decide they have to find the other jang twin in order to answer their questions

Problem is that he's been absent from work for the past 2 weeks, and when vincenzo breaks into his house, it looks like it hasn't been lived in for quite a while

The trail seems to lead nowhere, and they turn their attention back to tearing down babel, with the new knowledge sitting uncomfortably in the backs of their minds

And then han seo shows up at the jipuragi office in all his coffee wielding glory to plead his cooler older brother's case again

This time, to han seo's surprise, they listen to him patiently when he tells them about his older brothers. He makes sure to stress that the only one he wants to betray is han seok, and that jun woo has done nothing wrong

If the fact that they've read the part of the guillotine file that talked about what han seo had had to suffer under han seok makes it easier for them to believe him, he doesn't have to know that

The only way they can strike at han seok and simultaneously clear jun woo of suspicion is to reveal that they're twins

To do that they have to find jun woo. Han seo doesn't know where exactly he is, but he tells them that han seok would probably try and use jun woo as a shield should he ever be sent to jail

The guillotine file gives them what they need to force the prosecution to put han seok behind bars under fabricated charges. It wouldn't last long once actual investigation starts, but hopefully it will be enough

Han seok takes the bait, unknowingly, and shuttles jun woo off in his place. There's not much that irritates him as much as the thought of going to jail, and this is the perfect chance to test jun woo's loyalty. It also gives him a blind spot to operate, while his enemies think he's in jail. You can't dodge a hidden dagger and all that.

When the jipuragi squad watches the arrest of the babel chairman on the news, there's a nervous hunch to 'han seok's' shoulders, and the impassive smile he seems to be going for isn't quite right

Vincenzo and cha young go to visit him in jail

When they first see him, cha young immediately feels bad, despite herself. He looks like he hasn't slept well in ages, and his expression is far from his usual cheer, sober and sullen. This had better really be jun woo, she does not want to ever feel pity for jang han seok

It is jun woo, and he really hasn't slept well in ages, as reuniting with han seok and his violent tendencies has reawakened the memories from his childhood in the jang household that he had supressed, causing all kinds of nightmares

He doesn't look up as they enter and sit opposite him. Cha Young takes charge, and vincenzo lingers behind her, a solid and present support

When she speaks his head snaps up at the sound of her voice, before he seems to want to correct himself and looks away

When he looks at her again there are no traces of jun woo in his face, his expression haughty and unbothered

It's chillingly like the han seok they had sat across following the pig's blood incident, and cha young has to work hard to push down the flare of anger the expression causes

She decides not to beat around the bush. She presses the printed page of the jang han sol section of the guillotine file up against the glass, and watches as jun woo's eyes widen, the facade falling as quickly as he had donned it

Jun woo takes in the picture of the two identical little boys and has to squeeze his eyes shut at the wave of fear that hits him

In its wake is a small flare of hope. If they know he isn't han seok, maybe they can help him

Cha young watches as jun woo seems to deflate at the sight of the document, and now she's sure it isn't han seok, because she's never seen him allow himself to show any form of weakness

When jun woo looks up again, there is determination mixed in with the weariness in his eyes

A while later, cha young exhales shakily as they walk out, vincenzo's hand steady and comforting on her back. She's surprised at how relieved she is to know that the jun woo she had known had not been an elaborate set up, a con which had seen her at some of her lowest moments. Her heart goes out to jun woo, but there's an undeniable joy at the confirmation that her friend still exists, because it means he can be saved

The plan is simply to collect evidence of the fact that jun woo is not han seok. Best case scenario a video of them together, though a good photo will do as well. It would also work if they can somehow get footage of han seok out and about while jun woo is in jail

The first obvious course of action is to look for cctv footage. They hunt high and low through the cameras at babel, at wusang, and around han seok and jun woo's houses, but the searches are largely fruitless

With han seo's help, they locate the safehouses han seok likes to hide out in, and vincenzo sends men to snoop around each property. This ultimately pays off when, at the 3rd property, han seok is spotted standing by a window.

The second stage begins with Mr ahn's help, and they get a swat team to raid the house han seok is hiding out in.

Fully believing that everyone thinks you're in jail makes you sloppy, and han seok doesn't see it coming until the black vehicles are speeding down his driveway

He doesn't stop to take anything much, he grabs a hockey stick and he runs, wild and angry, out into the dark of the woods surrounding the house

Vincenzo watches him charge into the forest on the cctv footage retrieved from the house and smirks

The footage hits the news the next day. The headline is in large, bold letters, "Chairman Jang Han Seok spotted at holiday residence, despite prison sentence." The picture below the tagline serves as the final blow, side by side images of Han Seok sprinting away from the house, and an identical man sitting demurely in a jail cell.

As the story breaks, people begin to step forward, old employees of the jang household who had known and seen both han seok and han sol. There's nothing like good gossip to get people talking, and the shocking secret of the jang twins makes the rounds in record time

Jun woo's identity is rechecked, and he is set free

Cha young, vincenzo and han seo go to meet him when he gets out. Han seo tackles him in a hug, and cha young smacks him heartily on the back. Vincenzo doesn't react much but he does shoot jun woo a smile.

Han seok hasn't been seen in days, and jun woo is unbelievably happy to be himself again

It isn't over yet though, babel still needs to pay and han seok still needs to be found. Search parties comb through the woods around the house regularly, but there's still no sign of him. In the meantime, jipuragi prepares their final attack.

Han seo lets jun woo stay with him, and the house is fortified by multiple levels of guards

It's still mildly unsettling for han seo to have someone with han seok's face in his house, in his own safe space, but jun woo makes for a far better housemate than han seok ever was, and gradually he relaxes

For a few days, despite the tension of not knowing where your psychopath brother who probably really wants to kill you could be lurking, when there is a spare moment in the evening, han seo and jun woo catch up on years of lost brotherhood

Han seo tells him about his mother, and jun woo talks about his adopted family. Neither of them mention han seok, they skirt around his name like he doesn’t exist, like speaking their trauma aloud to someone who had been there too would make it too real to bear. Jun woo knows he had gotten the better end of the deal, he had been separated from han seok pretty early. Han seo had lost too many years of his life to their psychopath brother, and jun woo isn't sure he knows how to confront that, or how to comfort him. He hopes he can learn

Han seo wants to ask what exactly had happened to lead to jun woo being removed from the jang household and separated from han seok, but he doesnt dare. Maybe later, maybe when they aren't still worried about what han seok could do to them

Then the jipuragi squad files their lawsuit against babel. Han seok still hasn't been heard from, and they begin to wonder if he got lost in the woods. Maybe he fell of a cliff, or into a river

Either way, the trial goes spectacularly badly for babel, aided by the fact that vincenzo had threatened the unjust judge before the trial. The verdict is guilty, and it serves as a means to kick-start further investigation into previously dismissed babel trials

The day after the trial, han seok reappears

He was lost in the woods for a while, but he found his way out and laid low for a while plotting a way to get back at vincenzo and cha young for destroying his backup plans and destroying his family and company's reputation. He will also have to deal with his traitorous brothers.

It's a big blow, but it's not one he cannot recover from. All he has to do is get his revenge, terrify his brothers back into submission, and go back to his plans for his babel.

So he requests the kidnapping of cha young, and he gets his men to attack the guards at han seo's house and take her there, cornering his brothers. He strolls in when he gets word that everything is done, cocky and confident, twirling a gun between his fingers

He takes in the open fear on han seo's face, the frightened anger on jun woo's face, and the sneer on cha young's face, and he laughs. They are consistent to the very end, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

All that’s left is vincenzo, and a short while after a brief and taunt filled phone call he arrives, eyes wide and angry. Han seok does not waste time in pointing his gun at the mafia man. He stops where he is, still glaring at han seok, eyes darting regularly to cha young

Because he is never one to turn down some fun, in a bid to further anger vincenzo, han seok crouches down and points the gun to cha young's head. He watches at vincenzo's face twists with anger and worry, and he revels in it. Out of the corner of his eye he sees jun woo has moved in front of han seo, like he's protecting him, and han seok wants to laugh

He speaks to cha young in jun woo's voice to spite them both, mockingly sounding out his words in his twin's bright tone

But suddenly vincenzo drops to his knees to plead for cha young's life, and han seok grins in satisfaction. The satisfaction is shortlived, however, as something solid suddenly crashes into the back of his head

It dazes him enough that he lets go of cha young for a moment, and she takes the chance to headbutt him so hard that he drops the gun. Vincenzo pounces almost immediately, and aims a kick to han seok's head, knocking him out

The last thing he sees before everything fades to black is his spitting image standing a distance away, holding a dented art deco lamp.

When they are sure han seok has been knocked out for real, the relief that sweeps the room is palpable. Han seo slumps down and jun woo moves to check on him as vincenzo unties cha young

Jun woo moves to call the police, but vincenzo tells him not to.

Instead, he makes a call of his own, and soon two men enter and carry out the still unconscious han seok. Jun woo wants to ask where they’re taking him, but there’s a dark glint in vincenzo’s eyes that makes him swallow the question.

None of them see han seok again until he’s on the news. His body is found in a river near the family property he had first run away from, and the consensus seems to be that he fell in and drowned while lost in the woods

The whole matter has vincenzo written all over it, but no one is going to ask about it

Han seo and jun woo hold a funeral for him because it would be suspicious if they didn’t, but they work hard to make it as underwhelming as possible. When han seo cant stop shaking (whether it’s in weariness, relief, or anger at any traces of grief, jun woo can’t tell, and honestly neither can han seo) as they stand in front of the portrait of their deceased brother, jun woo silently rests a hand on his back.

After that is over with, they take a break to have a small ‘han seok is gone’ party, and then they both throw themselves into work

Han seo takes charge of babel, firing all of han seok’s people and working hard at cleaning up the stain of corruption he’d left behind. He works hard to transform the company’s reputation, and begins the process of compensating all the people who had been wronged by them in some shape or form

Jun woo leaves wusang and starts his own law firm. Han seo makes the company his first customer, and jun woo tries hard to run his firm without any traces of what made lawyers at wusang such monsters

Cha young and him have a friendly law firm rivalry going, much to vincenzo’s amusement

When they aren’t working, jun woo and han seo hang out a lot. Jun woo is determined to replace han seo’s memories of a terrible older brother with better ones with a more pleasant older brother. Han seo still struggles sometimes with seeing han seok in jun woo, but he’s more than happy to overwrite han seok’s image in his mind with jun woo’s

A few months after everything is stable again, they do take that trip to disneyland. The picture they take outside the park is framed on both their desks.

The next year, vincenzo and cha young get married, and han seo and jun woo attend the wedding. They bring expensive gifts, and jun woo cries like it’s his own family getting married. Cha young rolls her eyes at him, but she’s pleased to have him there

It will take a while to move on fully from the damage han seok caused, but they are all working hard at it. Because now han seok is gone for good, and everything is fine.

The Incident that led to han sol becoming jun woo happened when he and han seok were 6 and han seok, having decided that they had to see who was the superior twin, challenged him to a fight to the death

It was traumatic to the point that jun woo repressed all the memories of his childhood with han seok

Han seo once called jun woo hyung when speaking to han seok, and han seok got really angry and threw a lamp at him

Before vincenzo finishes off han seok, cha young slaps him six times to make up for the two slaps she mistakenly gave jun woo

After everything blows over, jun woo takes han seo with him the next time he goes to visit his adopted family. They dote on him like he's their family too, and han seo feels more loved than he has since he lost his mother. He says so to jun woo, and from then on he takes him along whenever he visits them

Cha young, jun woo and han seo meet up sometimes to eat spicy food, both because they like it but also to spite han seok’s memory just that little bit more

Because han seok died before he could find out about vincenzo’s mother, she’s alive and well and vincenzo visits her regularly

The night had been a blur once Lee Jordan had challenged you to a drinking contest. It was a simple game of beer pong that one of the muggle-borns had introduced but with a twist; firewhiskey had replaced the beer. Lee didn’t mess around when it came to drinking games. It was all or nothing for him.

Fred joined Lee’s side and George came to yours. If you were going down, it was going to be with the people who dragged you here in the first place. You originally planned to help Hagrid out with the mooncalves but the Gryffindor’s win led to an impromptu party in their common room.

Fred and George took you by the arms and brought you with the crowd of people before you could even say no. Initially, you were mad, but as the party went on and the more drinks that went down, you were beginning to relax.

Lee’s cocky attitude pissed you off making you determined to obliterate him in the drinking. Being a chaser, your aim was pretty good but your accuracy quickly deteriorated the more shots of firewhiskey you took.

Halfway through the third game and your team had no chance of redemption. You and George were far gone by the end of the second game yet your combined competitiveness made the two of you continue. You were a giggling mess and George took advantage of it, taking every chance to make a joke. The alcohol made his jokes worse but that only made you laugh harder.

The four of you finally stopped when a particular pun made your body shake with laughter. The shot you were holding spilled all over your white sweater, a large orange stain on the front. It made you pout and you were on the verge of tears until George offered you one of his to replace your “favorite sweater in the world”.

He brought you up to his dorm room, claiming he had a white sweater you could have to replace the one you ruined. George was digging through his trunk, set on finding it. You took this opportunity to take a look around the dorm.

For how many boys lived in the room, it was pretty tidy. Lee’s area seemed to be the only one in disarray. You weren’t surprised seeing as Molly most likely taught the boys to clean up after themselves with how many of them lived in that house.

You moved to sit on George’s bed, bouncing on it a few times in your fuzzy state of mind. Glazed over eyes shifted to the little knick-knacks he had arranged on his bedside table; a few small boxes that probably held their taffies, a notebook, a muggle pencil, and a couple of framed pictures.

The first picture made you smile, it was the one of his family when they took their trip to Egypt over the summer. The next one made you giggle a bit, it showed two short, baby faced versions of the twins with their trunks in the garden, most likely taken on their first day of Hogwarts. The last one is what took your breath away, it was of you and George at the beginning of the school year.

It made your heart swell up with joy. He viewed your friendship highly enough to have a picture of the two of you next to his bed. He’d see it every morning when he woke up, every time he went to bed, and every time he just went into his dorm. Your drunken mind suggested maybe he saw you more than a friend.

You had no time to dig your thoughts out of the hole your mind just trapped you in before George starts walking towards you, “It’s not white but,” His head was down, examining the sweater in his hands. “it’ll do…” He trails off, finally looking up at you.

A thought comes to your mind and before your sober side of your mind can stop yourself, you start speaking, “Could you help me, Georgie?” You try to act innocent as you stand up in front of him.

Extending your arms above your head, waiting for him to take off your sweater. He tosses his own sweater onto his bed to free his hands up. George then reaches for the hem of your top and lets out a sigh. His brain is in shambles already and you’re still clothed.

“Come on, what’re you waiting for?” You egg on. He shakes his head at you and pulls the stained sweater off your body.

His eyes drag over the sight of you. Goosebumps appear on the surface of your skin at the sudden temperature change. The way your hair falls back to your shoulders sends his head spiraling alone but then he looks down at your bra. It’s a simple tan bra but on you, it looks like it's worth a million galleons.

He can’t help himself as he reaches out to touch your side. Your mind goes completely blank at the contact. He gently caresses your soft skin, feeling the goosebumps that he’s sure you’re going to blame from how cold the room is.

“Georgie,” You whisper, your breath fanning over his neck. He didn’t realize how close you were until now, both of your unbalanced frames came closer because of the movement before. He drags a finger up your arm with his other hand, moving to push your hair over your shoulder. Your eyes are closed, basking at the way his touch feels on you. You’re putty in his hands at this point.

“Yes, love?” He questions, his eyes switching to your face as he runs his hand over your shoulder to the strap of your bra.

“Kiss me.” You whine out, he doesn’t hesitate to bring his lips to yours. You’ve dreamt about this moment since the summer before fourth year when he started sending you letters. When you saw him on the train, you knew this year was going to be interesting.

George then leans down, picking you up and laying you onto his bed. You watch in awe as he sheds his Quidditch sweater, his body is more defined this year as well. Puberty really did wonders for him. He climbs on top of you, careful not to put all his weight on you.

“If I knew this was going to happen—“ You try to focus on your words while he leaves a trail of open mouth kisses down your neck, “I would’ve asked for a sweater earlier.”

George picks at his food as he continues to think about last night. He doesn’t remember much but he can still feel your hands all over him, the kisses are still burned onto his skin. He’s been looking for you all morning but you haven’t been in sight.

Fred knocks his shoulder, trying to get his attention. He ignores it, eyes glued to the entrance of the Great Hall, “You alright there, Georgie?” He says, George’s head snaps to his at the nickname. The way your voice said it last night echoes in his mind.

He shakes his head, trying to get the thought out. “Yea, I’m fine.” He mumbles, looking down at his food.

“Bit hungover, are we?” Lee mocks, a smile on his face. “Thought you could handle your liquor better than that.” They both chuckle but George just shakes his head at him.

“If you’re hungover, wonder how (Y/N) feels.” Fred wonders out loud, George perks up at the name. “She's about the same but you’re double her size so she’s probably screwed… ay, where is she anyway?”

“Oh,” Hermione says, covering her mouth as she swallows her food. “She’s helping Snape this morning, trying to redeem the points for her house that the three of you lost the other day… she told me to give this to you,” She rummages through her bag and pulls out a piece of clothing.

George’s heart drops as his sweater is dropped in front of him. It was the one from last night that he gave you. Lee and Fred let out a couple of whistles at the sight.

“Oh, will you two grow up?” Hermione scolds, glaring at the two fifth years.

His mind goes blank as the two continue to bicker with Hermione. He thought the moment you shared would finally move the two of you forward in your relationship, making you something more. But, he guesses it was just a drunken mistake.

okay im editing this bcs its long and i forgot something already LOL

HI. it depends which deity youd like to reach out too. there are some good sites you can find where theres info on like greek deities. its a bit harder for kemetic deities. (frown.) i suggest a candle, i use tealights because theyre small, cheap, and come in lots of colors. get a candle color that correlates with the deity, but if you cant find one you can always use white. make sure its a new candle! and once you find something they would like, make sure you have an offering when you introduce yourself / reach out. for osiris i didnt have the incense he liked so i found a dying rose and blackberry jam. for apollo one time i found an orange berry and thought he would like it, but he said he didnt wanna keep it. i got dark chocolate for anubis, one of his favorites, but he didnt wanna talk to me so he declined keeping it. its not a big deal if a deity didnt want your offering (for the most part. i think i heard la santa muerto will physically knock things over if she doesnt like them. which means BE CAREFUL WITH CANDLES FOR HER!).

anyways. i say get a new fitting candle and fix up a place for it. i didnt have a place so i either did it on a clean / decluttered floor, or got a clean part of my nightstand. i called to them like this

"ancient [egyptian / greek / nordic / etc] god[dess] [NAME], i call to you. i would like to know if [you would like to work with me / you are here with me / etc]. in front of me is an offering to you."

heres something i found in my notes that i used for apollo. edit to fit whatever deity you were thinking of

i personally cant use pendulum for deities (my spirits will tinker with it), so i use fire divination. i ask

"[NAME], are you here right now? if you are here, [move the candle flame to the left / flicker the flame]."

if it doesnt move, they could be busy, they might not wanna talk, OR, for me, they save the flame flickering for a couple sessions afterward. i tell them that candle is for them and that every time i light it, i have them in mind. every time i light it, i also say out loud that this is for [NAME]. i noticed for apollo, his flame started to flicker to yes / no questions after a couple days of lighting the candle. i think he wanted consistency or dedication of some kind. hecate on the other hand REFUSEDDD to flicker the flame until i gave her a key offering. i found a spare copy of my house keys and gave her the shinier of the bunch. keys are her favorite, so she really liked it. thats also when we did tarot readings too.

all deities are different. i was met with a lot of umm. whats the word. i got discouraged super fast u know? most will not be like an eager puppy to talk to you. even if they wanna work with you or are interested in you. hecate waited very patiently for me yet made me wait and prove myself i guess in order to talk to her. i hope this made some sense. feel free to send me any more questions u have. i am kind of new to this too (-: and i started deity worship / work during a more chaotic part of my life so i felt like i rushed a bit into it. i did a lot of studying in a short amount of time so i think i am missing some things. rawwrrgh yeah thats what i can think of right now

2: At first? No. Ran was the first one who noticed when something was off but Ranbob brushed it off as him being tired. Though when he saw that his brother was still acting that way he kept checking in, til "Ranbob" eventually snapped at him one day, scaring and hurting Ran enough to get him to stop. His parents and Lias and Memi also noticed, but Lias and Memi didn't ask as often because Ran told them not too, and when Memi asked Ranbob gently told her its ok and to not worry. Lias was hesitant to accept this but eventually did, with Ranbob promising to tell him if something was wrong, a promise he sadly broke. Ranbob was close to his family, especially his younger siblings, and loved to play and study with them. He had a lot of friends at first that he played games with and joked around with. Though after he started to get out under more pressure and the introduction of Dream he got distant, lost all of his friends (even though he still cared for them), didn't play with Lias or Memi nearly as much, started skipping dinners and not talking to his parents or Ran. And when Dream was mostly and fully in control, he stopped talking at all, and ignored everyone. Lias desperately tried to get him to talk but that just resulted in a harsh stare with a silent promise, Memi tried to hug him, which he then pushed her away, and when Ran tried one last time to talk to him, but "Ranbob" just punched him and walked away. When his parents tried one very last time to intervene, that's when it got fatal. The Gladiators where horrified at what they read, finding it hard to believe and making them sick to their stomach. Benjamin caught them reading it, though he simply sadly smiled at them and said, "I read it too. Its horrible isn't it? He didn't deserve to go through that. But we'll help him. We'll help him be free and be himself again, I promise you, and everyone else. We'll save him." They felt like they where staring at a ghost, it was unnerving, to see such a happy and young Ranbob, knowing what will happen to him that will wipe him clean of all happiness. And it felt disrespectful when they caught sights of Ranya, Seth, Lias, and Memi. Cause they never knew them, and now they where looking into the such happy and gleeful eyes of dead people who don't know the torture their son and brother is going through. (And that went for everyone)

3: This is literally Ran's mentally when it comes to being stabbed, "I've been stabbed multiple times before and I haven't died. Therefor, I am immortal." Yes he is :). He gets threatened with Benjamin because if Benjamin finds out he isn't eating or sleeping Benjamin will force him to eat every bite of a full meal and force him to go to bed, sitting next to him and reading to him until he falls asleep. Which sounds nice, but considering Ranbob doesnt want to "bother" them, its a threat to him. Raq will always cause problems, he's a expert tracker and because of that he's able to hunt the groups down. He often will pop out of nowhere and attack the group, chasing them down until someone turns around and attacks him. Often Ran attacks him by looking Raq directly in his eyes, causing him to flee. Cause even though Raq wants to get Ran, he knows very well if they make eye contact he will lose a battle no matter what he does, so its best to run and attempt to blind him at a later point. Ran his very happy to be on the road again, and if Ranbob wasn't there (who's keeping Ran on edge and preventing him from fully enjoying the trip, though its mostly just Ran doing it to himself), he would be non-stop talking and running ahead of the group. But even with Ranbob there he's happy to finally be moving again.

4: The gladiators did not witness it first hand, rather they heard screaming and went to check it out, worried and alarmed. And when Ranbob went into the depressive state did Benjamin come over to them and explain what was going on and what was going to happen. When then Jackie offered to help keep Ranbob company while Grievous and Watson offered to go along with Cletus to find Ran. When they heard the scream Jackie was scared and nervous, Grievous was anxious and on edge, Watson was calm yet curious, and Ran was mad and on edge. And when they found out what happened, Jackie felt bad and sympathetic, Grievous felt sad and a bit guilty, Watson was sympathetic and felt bad for him, and Ran was pissed.

5: Isaac and Benjamin just kinda accepted it and went "Yes he is like a lost puppy and we love him for that.", Charles was embarrassed and instead of responding properly he muttered out an excuse and left, cause he was not expecting to be confronted with Ranbob being like a puppy at all and didn't know how to respond, and Cletus just stuck his tounge out and blew raspberries. And Ranbob was just purely embarrassed.

6: Actually first thing Ranbob got when he arrived to the fishermen house was wrapped up in multiple fluffy blankets and had a hot chocolate shoved in his hands. Also whenever he goes into a depressive episode or wants to go back the fishermen just bring out emergency blankets and quickly make either hot chocolate or tea and Ranbob loves it every single time.

7: Ranbob is mixed, he loves it being back as it reminds him of such good times, but it also doesn't feel right when Charles says it because Ran was the one who made it. It only sounds right when Ran says it. Ran is angry that Ranbob is letting someone else call him Bobby (which he is also sad about), but is also mad that he's mad that someone else is using it. But he's also happy its being used again, and is happy to see Ranbob still enjoys it. Grievous of course notices it, but doesnt look into it, and so does Watson but he also doesn't ask about it, determing it to be something the brothers themselves have to talk about.

8:Because if it was Porkius or literally anyone else, they wouldn't of helped and would've watched happily as the two fought, waiting until one fell and even encouraging the fight. But they also jumped into the area from the stands and Cletus specifically placed himself between the two, pushing Ran back and yelling at him (which rarely anyone does) when Benjamin then came up to try to calm the raging enderman down, while Charles checked on Ranbob, and Isaac kept look out for any sudden movements between the two so he could intercept the potential attack. Plus when Isaac saw the other group approaching he ran to meet them, asking if they knew Ran and when they said yes, quickly stating a plan to safely restrain Ran long enough until Ranbob was taken to safety. Then leaving Ran to the group, but also saying how he wanted to talk later.

10: Sounds like the certain town just may be the ruins of the Greater SMP. So I'll probably have Wilburs Decendent (which I dont currently have a name for, if anyone has one please feel free to suggest one!) As a popular performer there and also the towns historian, so when our groups get there Wilbur is able to provide information about Dream, Ranboo, basically everyone and the history of the SMP. Most likely going be a part of the story when Ran truly starts to slowly believe that his brother didn't meant to do everything he did.

11: Yep, he knows Ranboo used to have bad memory (not how bad it was, just that it was bad) but he's never read it because Mizu never had the actual book, it was only told in tales and stories that Mizu had. If that makes sense. Ranbob will get plenty more hugs I promise you, though that also means he gets hurt more.

12: Kinda but also cause I enjoy writing angst.

Ok ok here's some fluff: These all take place a good week or 2 (or longer) after Ran forgives his brother and the relationship gets better. Watson walks in on the two sharing a blanket and sleeping against eachother. With them leaning on eachother and leaving almost no space between them. Ran finally calls Ranbob Bobby again and Ranbob cries and hugs his brother tightly, Ran is shocked but quickly hugs back just as tightly. Ranbob gets to finally pull a big brother move and tease Ran about his "nerdy" habit of reading so many books, Ran tries to fire back that Ranbob literally picked a idol that requires you to be a bookworm but he simply shoots back that Technoblade also requires you to be a bookworm. Its been spotted multiple times of either Ran or Ranbob having their tail wrapped around his brothers wrist or leg, and the two aren't very far apart now. Jackie jokes about being replaced by Ranbob and being heartbroken, basically draping himself over Ran and whining while everyone else laughs at Rans distress. Ran and Ranbob eventually agree to merge their two hauntings, which is extremely rare and is the biggest sign of trust and love there is in enderman language. Ran reads to Ranbob one night after a bad relapse, which ends up soothing Ranbob much sooner than anything else.

I also have a more mythical idea of fluff that probably wont be in the main story, but im willing to share it if you want.

2: Only his family noticed? Dang, okay. I’m irrationally attached to his siblings now that they have names, and this only hurts me. Do the gladiators have any noticeable changes in behavior towards Ranbob and Ran after reading it? Also, who may Ranya and Seth be? I don’t believe I saw them mentioned earlier.

3: Technically, he’s right. He hasn’t died yet, anon, and he’s been stabbed multiple times, he could very well be immortal. I guess he should probably do his best to not get stabbed again though, I hear it’s kind of bad for you.

Ranbob: *Not doing something he should do for his own health*

Benjamin: *Self Care But As A Threat(Gently)*

Also, even though I acknowledge that Raq could be a genuine threat, all I can imagine are Team Rocket shenanigans. He keeps trying to blind him in various, complicated ways, and fails hilariously. One time he actually manages to do it only for Jackie to take him out or for him to turn around and accidentally look Ranbob straight in the eyes cause the poor hybrid was trying to knock him out without a fight.

4: Yikes, that must have been pretty scary, just hearing everything go down. If I may ask, what exactly happened with Ranbob? You said there was screaming?

5: Well, at least everyone’s come to terms with it. Ran uses people as tote bags, and Ranbob is the local puppy, and it is what it is.

6: Very good! He needs it! Also, do they just keep them on hand? Just-he looks a tiny bit sad and Benjamin pulls blanket and tea out of thin air and burritos him.

7: Aww. But also, ouch. Oh well. At least we can get Ran eventually picking the nickname up again.

8: Oh? Interesting. Sounds like these guys are pretty quick on their feet. I can see why it’d impress the gladiators.

10: That? Sounds so cool? Oh, I really like that honestly, I can’t wait to see where you take that.

11: Neat. Is that where he got the idea for his diary, or? And why? Why must we suffer in order to take comfort from the kinder things in life? Why can’t Ranbob just have hugs without pain?

12: Did you genuinely just admit to aiming for my feelings with that last one?! Anon, how could you! I’ve been injured! My heart, Anon!

Aldidjdbdj it's been a while huh? I got a lot more asks than I was expecting so hopefully that filled yall up while waiting for this

Fandom: the umbrella academy

Pairing: axel x Irish!OC

Time and place: Spring 1990 San Patricio

Summary: over 1200 words of kelly, axel, and Nikolas just at the pub

Last chapter was really short, so plz enjoy this longer one! I hope it was worth the wait.

Plz rememebr that the only character who's first language is english is Dick from part 1, so the dialog is spoken all wich accents and doesnt have a wide variety of vocab if its english (aka black colored) especialy for Axel cause he knows the least of them

Green dialog is Irish

Blue dialog is Swedish

A small bell chimes with the opening door, notifying nearby people of the new person. Axel looks around the pub to see people drinking, talking quietly, and clapping and stomping their feet to the beat of the music while people dance in a cleared out area. This place is so warm. He thinks to himself. Almost a little suffocating, if I think about it. Axel decides to take a seat at the bar closest to the door.

“Welcome to the irish pub! My name is Sean, and I'll be the bartender this evening. What can I help you with?” A man says, cleaning a glass in his hands.

“Waiting” Axel responds simply, while Sean gives a nod of acknowledgment. The pub is not going to stay open forever. Most people have already left for the night.

“Very well then, please feel free to ask for help. I'll come by later” The bartender sets down the glass behind him and walks off towards the other end of the bar. The music ends, and the dancers bow. Another song starts up as the door opens again with another chime.

"Thank you Again for agreeing to meet with me" Nikolas says, taking a seat next to Axel. "I know swedes prefer to stay out of other people's business, so I'm sorry if any of this has been an inconvenience for you. Were you waiting long?"

"No" he responds curtly. The bartender comes over again at the new man's appearance.

"Welcome to the irish pub! My name is Sean, are you ready for something?" The lad jots down Nikolas's order on a notepad then turns to Axel. "Anything for you?"

"Same" he says.

"Good choice gentlemen, I'll get right on that" Sean walks over to prep the drinks on the back counter.

"...So, do you know the woman who helped at all, or was it a factor of chance?" Nik says, deciding to start the conversation once their drinks arrived.

"No. I was walking nearby and heard Adela call out...." I thought it was my family. "...I thought..." Axel trails off, sipping his drink in between pauses.

"This country isn't all it's Cooked up to be" Nik says with a sigh, taking reign for the poor lad. "You have to be a pure american to fit in. Walk, talk, and look like them. What they seem to forget is that this country is made almost entirely of immigrants. They pushed back, suppressed, stole, and killed the natives of this land to claim it as their own. People like us... who are different... have it rough, we need to look out for each other. No one else will" Axel nods solemnly. Discrimination is everywhere. “That's why I like places like these...” Nik says, gesturing to the entire pub with glass in hand.

Glancing around, most every person there is Irish or some other immigrant. In the corner behind the bar, Axel spots your head of red hair as you prep something on the back counter. The front door opens with another chime of the bell, and a small boy darts right though the door, smacking straight into Axel. The boy falls down with a thud and a gasp, making your head swivel over to the 3 boys' location. You throw your hands up and mumble something under your breath, walking towards them.

"That's her. The one with the red hair" Axel points out to the man.

"Levi, what did I tell you!" You scold him, briefly checking for injuries. After concluding there aren't any, you turn to the 2 men at the bar. "I am so sorry, gentlemen-" your eyes meet Axel’s, and your face lights up with recognition. She does remember. And she's speaking slowly for us to understand better.

"Don't worry about us, is the lad alright?" Nik asks.

"I'm fine, thank you. Sorry for running into you" Levy answers him, speaking softly enough for only them to hear.

"Why don't you go upstairs. And use your walking feet!" You suggest, a hand on Levi's shoulder. “I am so sorry, again-” You start, interrupted by the elder man.

“It's alright, he's just a boy and will learn with time” You smile kindly at him, thanking god he’s not upset. “You're a kind lass for helping my granddaughter last week” He says, this time sending you a kind smile.

“You’re her grandfather? Oh, I’m so glad she found her family” You turn your attention to Axel this time “I’m sorry I couldn't help more. Is your arm doing good? I could rebandage it for you” You offer, motioning where he was wounded on your own limb.

“Arm is good” How does her face just.... Relax like that?

“Thank god, I'm glad”

“My name is Nikolas, but you can call me Nik. It's very nice to meet you” He extends his hand for a shake, and you lean in to take it.

“Please call me by my last name, Kelly”

“Don't like your first one?” The old man questions.

“...something like that” Nik nods his head in acknowledgement.

“How long have you been in the country?”

“Well, my parents moved here with me after I finished schooling... but they moved back after 15 years. I have a job here because it's run by my best friends family, and that's what I've been doing ever since”

“I see... it must have been rough when you first moved here” Nik comments.

“Yes, it always is. That's why immigrants help immigrants, right? We all have it tough”

“That is exactly why I like places like these” Nik continues his earlier topic with a smile. “You’re much more likely to find kindness here than with a ‘real’ american - as they like to call themselves” You smile with a small laugh.

“Well, what's your name? How long you been here?” You say, directing your attention to the Swede.

“Axel. 1 year” Technically it's been a little less than a year, but I don't know how to say that in English. You nod your head sympathetically.

“It is a hard language to learn, my parents had the most difficulty. Part of the reason they moved back”

“In my experience, it's easier when surrounded by the language” Axel zones out of their conversation momentarily, not very interested in their business. Why are they both so friendly? He ponders, glancing around the pub again to see that the population has dwindled.

“...You dance?” He asks you finally, gesturing to the dancers up front who have all stopped for water. You turn your head to glance over at the girls, before responding and turning back.

“Not a lot anymore. I teach and help make new dances though. In the morning before the pub opens we let local dancers practice here”

“My, that's so cool! Adela was always interested in dancing” Nik responds with enthusiasm.

“It's a lot of fun. Levi has a lot of energy, so I'm trying to make him like it more”

“Maybe if he and Adela met they could like it together?” The older man suggests, your face springs with an idea.

“There's a big show soon. They could meet then?” You propose, emphasizing the size with your hands.

“Yes!” Across the room, a clock chimes for the hour and the excitement from your face deflates.

“Pub closes soon” You say, sadness tinging your accented voice. “Time to go home. But next time?”

“Yes, I can not wait!” Nik stands up with a newfound happiness. “Thank you for talking to me, I am sorry if I was interrupting your job”

“Of course. Good night, be safe!” You pat his shoulder eagerly as he heads towards and out the door.

“Arm... bandage?” Axel questions, motining to his injured arm. You look back to him suddenly, eyes widening in recognition yet again.

“Yes. Wait please” You then make your way behind the bar and trek up the stairs with vigor. As he waits, Sean comes up to take his empty glass.

“Done?” He questions before picking it up. Axel simply nods and the cup is taken to be cleaned. Soon enough you return down the steps, glidings over to him with supplies. Setting the small jar of slave down, you start unwrapping his bandages with such delicacy it almost scares him. It's as if she's afraid something will shatter with her touch. Revealing the wound, you are relieved to see it truly has gotten better - if even a little.

“Not big” You say, applying the same salve as last time. “Will heal fast. Thank you” That's almost exactly what she said last time too. You quickly wrap the new bandage around his arm, satisfied with your work. But... “Done!” You quip with a smile. Every cat has claws... and I don't plan on being fooled again.

Taeil:

Taeil wasn’t the type to get jealous easily or behave pettily- Rather, he was just protective at times and would feel he’d have to interject to save you from situations... Whether you were feeling uncomfortable or not- Yet a part of your boyfriend also felt slightly neglected, a faithful dog waiting on the other side of the fence with it’s tail wagging at the sight of it’s owner, even though it’s owner was petting the neighbor’s cat.

He called out your name in the hopes of getting your attention as he watched you and Ten staring at your screens before nudging each other continuously with a laugh to show the other a recent entertaining Tweet. He was all for you bonding with the other boys, but he’d missed you this week and throughout the day constantly stuck by your side. Placing the bowl of steaming popcorn upon the coffee table, he took his seat beside you on the couch, hand patting around for the remote he’d dropped there moments before.

“OMG- You have to show that to Mark,” Ten gasped, covering his mouth to conceal his wicked grin as he looked at the meme you’d stumbled upon of Mark’s shorts.

“Let me see,” Taeil added, not wanting to miss out and curious as to what was so funny.

He leant in, eyes flickering to Ten as he watched the younger lean back into the couch, thumbs moving rapidly upon his screen. Taeil listened amusedly as he heard your small chuckle in his ear, a smile gracing his lips as he saw your screen before drawing back partially.

“You’re amused so easily,” he chuckled, nose nearly brushing your own as he leant nearer, a hand shooting to your waist to tickle you gently.

“Says you,” you squirmed with a bright smile.

Finally, his forehead rest upon your own, his antics stilling as he closed the gap between the two of you for a quick kiss. Embarrassed about kissing so openly with Ten by your side, you felt a blush creep upon your cheeks as you pulled away shyly. You could have sworn Taeil’s gaze jumped from your lips to your eyes to Ten before he closed the gap once more- You let out a muffled chuckle against his lips as your hands went to the front of his shirt to slow him down and steady yourself.

“Ew- God- Could you not?” Ten whined in disapproval, scooting away.

You could feel Taeil’s smile against your lips before he drew back, eyes as lively as ever.

Smothering you and being that cute couple to show off and make others wanna gag, but not let you think it’s a jealousy thing-

Taeyong:

Easily, one of the most jealous man you’d ever dated. He had his share of insecurities that make him question whether he’s worthy of love and attention, and an anxiety about losing the person he cherishes the most... So, seeing your interactions with your old classmates made him feel even more insecure in the moment. He’d had a stressful and busy week and hadn’t gotten to see you much, merely late calls that usually didn’t last long because he’d coax you to go to sleep early since you’re busy as well. Meeting a few of your old high school classmates, totally coincidentally at Gong Cha was all it took for him to have a small internal freak out. He already didn’t like that they were guys, even more so that they’d known you longer than he had technically... He felt excluded- He always wanted to be a part of every part of your life and have you in every part of his- To him your soulmates and he didn’t like feeling as though someone had a leg up on him in regards to you.

“You look great! Wow- It’s been a minute, but wow-” one of your old classmates gushed, stunned by how you’d matured and glowed up through the years spent apart.

You gave a small chuckle in return, “I’m surprised you recognized me-”

“I mean how could I forget (Y/n)?” he joked, gesturing towards you, followed by a few hums of the other classmates beside him.

You weren’t exactly sure what he meant by that- You didn’t think of yourself as too memorable of a person during high school. You’re boyfriend disliked it even more, a scowl etched into his features- He didn’t like not being in the know or what exactly the man meant.

“Well, it’s a small world I guess,” you wrapped up awkwardly, “It was nice to see you,” you added, able to feel Taeyong’s calculating gaze.

Sighing to yourself, you took a sip of your tea, inviting Taeyong to ask whatever he was going to ask.

“Were you popular in high school?”

“No,” you huffed, “Not really anyway- I’ve already told you about my high school- I wasn’t even friends with those guys... I can’t believe he recognized me.”

‘You’re just too pretty to be forgettable’ was what Taeyong had been thinking, but decided to keep it in. He could still feel their fleeting gazes glancing towards you as they sat down in laughter- He didn’t like that... What were they talking about? You? Were they laughing about you? Who knew what prude remarks they were making.

“I’d have dated her back in junior year if I knew she was gonna turn out like this-”

Feeling jealous, protective, and anxious he stood, causing you to look up at him, “Where are you going..?”

“Bathroom,” he informed before bending down, his hand coming to cradle your jaw as he sealed your lips together in a sweet kiss- Lips tasting of caramel.

Your lips followed his own as he drew back, swiping his thumb endearingly across your cheek before giving it a gentle pinch. You pulled your face from his grasp at the action, playfully pouting at your cup of tea as he left the table.

“I know right-”

The voices got louder as he approached.

“Could you keep your voices down?” he asked, yet it wasn’t really a question- His tone and gaze icy and curt before he brushed past their table to the restroom.

Yuta:

Tossing in jealous Yuta because that’s hot-

You didn’t have to be dating Nakamoto Yuta for him to feel as strongly as he did. He felt like you were already his, his sweet, his dear, his precious- And he wasn’t going to let the world or anyone else take that away from him. You loved him as a friend- The two of you had crossed the boundary of friendship a few times with late night kisses and drunken texts- But there was something about his possessive nature that made you hesitant to progress any further with him. Just being his friend you felt like a prisoner-

“I have to drop by my brothers’ dorm to give him back his battery pack-” you began, halting as you remembered.

“I’ll go with you,” Yuta chimed, slinging an arm around your shoulder, pulling you into him as his other hand pulled the drawstrings of the hoodie harshly, causing it to close around your face.

You stumbled into him mid-step as he did so, whining dramatically as your hands attempted to shove him aside.

“My brother doesn’t like you,” you interjected, pulling the hood free from your mess of hair as Yuta released you.

With a shrug he focused his attention on taming your hair, the action causing your face to heat.

“You shouldn’t go into the boys dorm alone,” he reprimanded, motherly as ever.

Jaehyun. Your brother’s roommate and soccer teammate of Yuta- was coming down the very path you were on the quad.

“Jaehyun!” you called out suddenly, happy to find a delivery man.

His eyes darted from his phone to you, his brows knitting together seconds later-

“Hey,” he began, slowly letting his gaze drift between the two of you before to your hoodie.

“Uh... Is that your hoodie?”

“I stole it from my brother- Don’t tell,” you chuckled.

Letting out a soft chuckle of amusement, Jaehyun shook his head, “That’s not your brother’s- That’s mine. I’d been looking for it all week-”

“Oh my God!” you gasped, dropping the tote bag from your shoulder, “I’m so sorry! I- It was on his side of the room... So I thought-”

“It’s fine,” he interjected, “It looks good on you-”

Yuta’s gaze narrowed at that remark and before he even had a moment to stop you, you were peeling off the hoodie and offering it to an astonished Jaehyun. You saw no issue with it, you were wearing a t-shirt underneath.

“I’m so so sorry! Also...” you began, picking up your bag, “Could you give this to my brother?”

“Sure-” Jaehyun nodded, scratching the nape of his neck as you pushed the goods into his hands before whipping around and grabbing the side of Yuta’s plaid jacket to bring him in tow with you-

“O my God... That was so embarrassing-” you rambled, feeling your face hot in embarrassment.

Suddenly, Yuta’s feet stopped moving, causing you to stop. He removed his phone from the pocket of his jacket before slipping it into his jeans, removing his coat.

“What are you doing?” you asked dumbly before catching on, “N-No, I’m not cold or anything-”

Silently, he draped it over your shoulders before his hands slid to the open front of it, grasping it before pulling you closer by the collar. His lips melded with your own, needy and passionate, jealousy brewing in his heart at even a simple encounter. His hands slid down to the zipper, zipping it quickly as he pulled away, your arms constricted, a smug expression on his face before he began walking again.

“H-Hey! GET THIS off me!” empty sleeves flopping by your sides as you hobbled after him.

The type to give you a little taste of his cold shoulder and reprimanding you for being careless [about making him jealous basically].

Kun:

Respectful and mature bub who wouldn’t do anything unless the two of you were dating, and for a while.

He couldn’t understand why Xioajun was so clingy towards you- I mean... He understood it in a sense since he was also in a way- But it was different. You were taken- Xiaojun should have taken a hint from him by now. Kun was constantly swooping in to interrupt the too of you, the hint of a small grin gracing his features each time to hide his unkindly thoughts towards the younger.

“Does Xiaojun bother you?” he questioned, watching as you pulled on your socks from the doorway of your bedroom, his shoulder resting against the frame.

“No?”

Cocking your head to the side, you couldn’t understand what Kun was hinting at or why he was asking.

“He’s always around you...”

“Yeah,” you chuckled, “We’re friends.”

You stood, ready to pass by your boyfriend and slip on your shoes by the doorway, yet he didn’t budge.

“Well...” he began, “I don’t want to sound ...clingy, but I don’t like it-”

“There’s nothing to worr-”

You were mid-roll of your eyes, when he cut you off, his warm hand enveloping around your own, “You’re mine, right?”

There was a hint of something swimming in his chocolate gaze, as if a saddened part of him needed reassurance.

“O-Of course,” you admitted, blushing to yourself from feeling caught off guard.

“Then I have a right to be like this,” he added, voice softer.

You open and shut your mouth dumbly, not sure what to say in response. Yes? He to a degree had a right to feel jealous- But... There was really no reason to be jealous over Xiaojun- Tugging your hand forward gently, he drew you to meet his lips, lilting his neck down. His kiss was delicate, lips plush and substantial, but movements gentle and loving. Your knees felt weak, as if it was your first kiss again.

“Don’t worry about it,” you nearly whispered as he drew back, “I’ll try to be mindful,” you added, referring to distancing yourself a bit so Kun wouldn’t get the wrong impression again.

“We’re going to be late...”

Doyoung:

You drew back to take a breath before your lips were smothered again, his nostrils flaring in anger and also the need for oxygen. You whined gently against his lips, attempting to pull back once more. You panted, out of breath before placing a hand on Doyoung’s chest to keep him at bay.

He leant back over the center console, resting his head back against the padded seat. Finished clicking in your seat belt you looked at him.

“When you dress like that,” he began, nodding forward, “guys get the wrong idea.”

“N-”

“Like thinking you’re single and something for them to ogle at,” he added, cutting you off, “You have no idea what kind of sleaze bags were looking at you and what they were thinking-”

His fox-like eyes flickered back to you, taking a moment to glance at the obvious cleavage you’d put on display.

“I dressed up for you- I just… I wanted to feel sexy and make you-”

“Make me what? Upset?”

“No! Proud to be with me- To be attractive to you…”

Raking a hand through his hair he let his gaze fall upon your own.

“Don’t you get it?” he began, jabbing the keys into the ignition, “You’re always attractive to me- I always want you- I’m always proud of you- But I want to be the only one to see.. You don’t deserve them looking at you like that and it makes me sick,” he trailed off, quickly casting his gaze forward as he pulled away from the curb.

You felt a tingle jolt along your spine at his words.

Ten:

He’d been giving you a snarky attitude all day; curt remarks and dismissive glances. Sighing for the final time as he pretended to ignore you, you let your tongue poke at your cheek in annoyance.

“Look at me,” you probed.

His fingers halted before smashing the pause button on his game, tossing the controller aside him on the sofa as he let out his own sigh, his gaze continuing to be fixed upon the TV screen.

“Why are you being like this?”

You hated how beautiful his profile was, the slope of his sharp nose and outline of his soft lips.

“Why won’t you even talk to me?” you added, raising your tone.

“If you want someone to talk to why don’t you ask Taeyong?” he quipped, voice laced with venom.

Huffing in exasperation, you let your hands fall to your hips.

“Are you serious?”

Finally… he turned his dark gaze towards you.

“Yeah,” he nearly shrugged, attitude as petty as ever.

“You’re such a child!” you shouted, unable to control your emotions as you stormed away, frustrated and wanting to cry.

He paused for a moment before standing.

“I’m childish?” he asked, tone brazen and perplexed.

You stopped, turning on your heel-

“Then what?” he questioned, “Is Taeyong the man?”

Before you could spit out a reply he grabbed onto your elbow.

“I’m the only man you should see,” he barked.

“You are my only man…” you murmured, hurt he thought otherwise.

Cupping your face, he pulled you into him, lips messily finding one other before passionately embracing.

Omg I hate this one…

Jaehyun:

Far enough. Was what Jaehyun had been thinking.

His jaw was set, his lips pursing each time his eyes narrowed slightly, causing one of his dimples to gently show.

Sure, it was Taeyong’s birthday, but that didn’t mean he had the right to flirt with you-

“Is that right?” you giggled, after listening to one of Taeyong’s stories.

Your fork idly toyed with the pasta in your dish as you gave Taeyong your attention. The rest of the lunch table seemed chatty, side for Jaehyun whom pouted by your side. His silence was slowly steeling your attention away from Taeyong as you began to worry.

“You’ll have to excuse me for a moment,” you interjected, glancing towards the bathroom.

Your plan was simple, take a break from Taeyong by using the restroom before retuning and turning to Jae to give your attention and ask what was up. As you stood Johnny began speaking to Taeyong, allowing you the perfect cover to escape. As you did, someone snagged you by your belt loop. Your forlorn boyfriend looking up at you with eyes you couldn’t place.

“Where are you going?”

“Bathroom,” you whispered, your brows furrowing in concern at his oddness.

He released you, standing himself to follow you.

“Why are you being so weird?” you inquired, rounding a corner with him.

“I’m jealous,” he admitted.

“Wh- How? What’s there to be jealous about?” you stumbled.

Instead of answering or explaining, he cornered you against the wall once the two of you were hidden from sight in the hall of the bathroom.

“Babe,” you began, your voice lowering.

Being under his gaze in such close quarters you felt trapped, trying to think of what he’d want to hear to be reassured. You bit your lip in thought. Warm lips clashed with your own, not too aggressive, nor gently. The breath that had gotten caught in your throat came out as a sigh against his lips as his hands slid from the wall on either side of your shoulders to your hips.

“We can’t do this here,” you nearly whispered, your lips brushing his own in temptation.

Ignoring you, his hasty lips met yours again, causing you to let out a small moan of protest.

“Oh- God-” Ten sputtered, shielding his eyes from the entrance of the hallway as he saw the two of you.

Your fist came in contact with Jae’s pec as he broke away from you.

...When you came back to the table you could feel everyone’s gaze upon the two of you, lowering your gaze in embarrassment as Jaehyun wore a smug grin.

Win:

Cold shoulders were never fun, especially when dealing with your best friend Sicheng. He sat several rows in front of you in the lecture hall instead of beside you, scrolling through his phone and clearly avoiding your texts. You bit your pen cap in annoyance as you stared at the back of his head.

“Maybe they broke up-”

It was a hushed whisper, but you were able to here it.

“Just go talk to her-”

Evidently Sicheng heard it too, his thumb having stopped scrolling and his ears perked.

“Hey,” a gentle voice said, taking the seat beside you.

“H-Hi,” you fumbled, baffled as to why Mark Lee was sitting next to you.

“This seat’s not taken, is it?”

“No,” you enunciated, making sure it was clearly loud enough for Sicheng to hear in an attempt to be petty.

“Cool- Well, uh, there’s this party at Alpha Delta Si later,” he began, “If you wanted to go, you could be my plus one- Honestly, we’ve had this class together all semester and I thought you were cute-”

You were flattered by his invitation, but frat parties weren’t really your scene.

Glancing over his shoulder at the encounter, Sicheng was caught by your gaze.

“Oh- Uh, I’ll have to think about it, parties like that aren’t really my thing-” you declined politely.

“O-Oh,” Mark nodded, retracting to his seat in thought as the professor entered.

The entire lesson you and Sicheng fumed with thoughts of each other, unable to concentrate. The lesson seemed to end in record time, not that you were paying attention.

“So, um, if parties aren’t your thing we could do something like uh... get ice cream, or-”

Once you’d stood to stuff your belongings in your bag, Mark was back at it again. However, your sleeve was yanked by the ever so thoughtful Sicheng, pulling you from the row and tugging you up the stairs of the lecture hall. You stumbled after him dumbly until he shoved the door open with such force you were scared for a moment.

“Stop-” you shot, pulling from his grip.

“Was I interrupting something?” he asked bitterly.

“What the fuck is your problem? I thought you-”

You could feel the gaze of several classmates in the hallway, feeling embarrassed. Behind you, Sicheng saw the door of the lecture hall swing open with none other than Mark and Jeno, his eyes narrowing as he caught Mark’s gaze. Swooping in, his hand clamped over your forearm to pull you to meet his lips, his blunt nails digging into your sweater. He was overwhelming, figure looming over your own, hasty lips pushing against your own, you felt lost in your shock.

Jungwoo:

“Let me up,” you huffed for what felt like the fifth time.

A hum of disapproval left the boy who’d constricted himself around you.

“Woo- I’ll be late for my shift...” you tried, sighing to yourself.

“Don’t go,” he murmured.

“I have to go- My supervisor will be mad if I’m late again...”

“Your supervisor,” he began, sitting up, his fluff of hair bouncing, unfit of his narrowing eyes, “I don’t like him.”

“It doesn’t matter if you like him or not-”

You struggled in his hold, but he draped a leg over your hips to bar your escape, hugging you closer.

“He’s creepy.”

“Yeah, he is,” you agreed with an airy chuckle, “But that doesn’t matter, I need to keep my wage-”

Rolling on top of you, you let out a whine under his weight. Cutely, he blew the hair out of your face, not daring to remove his hands from wrapped around you for fear of you escaping. You giggled and writhed at his actions, shaking the hair from your face. He plopped a soft kiss upon your lips, smothering your own before drawing back momentarily.

“Don’t go.”

His lips didn’t give yours time to spit out a retort, softly melding with yours with passion. Had it been any other day or any other occasion, you would have skipped whatever event there was to stay with him, but you couldn’t miss today... Shaking your head to shake his lips off your own, he groaned against your lips, unrelenting. You couldn’t help but let out a chuckle of anguish against his lips, following it with a low whine. He bit your lip in retaliation gently, shifting on top of you as you squealed and wiggled beneath him.

“You’re being childish,” you gasped, nostrils flaring with the need for air.

Lucas:

“Baby-”

Yukhei’s deep voice reverberated through your being as his lips brushed your ear.

“Why are you watching that?”

In your defense, you hadn’t searched for it, rather it was in your suggestions and you just so happened to be curious by the amount of views it had. A Doyoung, Boss focus cam- Nor were you expecting your friend-with-benefits to be up so early... He usually slept well past ten.

“I couldn’t sleep,” you partially lied.

“Do you like him?”

“Uh,” you stalled, glancing over your bare shoulder, “It’s not like I know him-”

“I mean,” he corrected, “Do you think he’s sexy?”

Your expression morphed into one of confusion at his most likely horny what-the-fuckery. If you said yes would he set up a threesome?

“Yeah.”

A warm hand slid over your bare arm, trailing to your shoulder before moving to your throat. He didn’t like that answer- Though the two of you weren’t official, he had real feelings for you- Which is why he called you baby, and told you to stay the night when you’d start searching for your clothes the night before...

“What about me?” he groaned gently.

Dropping your phone aside, you rolled over to your side, your hand going to his wrist to stop the growing pressure he applied.

“Yeah, you’re sexy,” you rolled your eyes, knowing he was immaturely jealous.

“Am I sexier?”

He drew you closer, his nose brushing against your own as he awaited your answer.

“I’m not sure,” you teased, withholding a giggled at how his eyes widened.

He let out a chuckle too, able to catch onto your teasing attitude.

“I must be since I’m the one with you and not him,” he muttered with a smile, rolling over on top.

His lips claimed your own in an arduously slow kiss, his hand fumbling to reach over and turn off your phone.

Mark:

Alone, in bed, on his phone- Mark’s evening was rather bland. He’d been on a call with you while you’d been getting ready to come over, content with just listening to your voice.

“Why do you take so long to get ready?” he questioned with a sigh, “Just come over already.”

“I have to look good,” you countered, “You said Johnny was home...”

And here it was, the recent reason for Mark’s despise of Johnny Suh, one of his closest friends.

“Bro- So what... You’re coming over to see me, not him-”

That was true-

“Yeah, but if I do see him-”

“Whatever, just hurry up,” Mark complained, his tone snappish as he hung up.

It was hard getting friend-zoned, let alone having the girl you like be into your best friend instead.

Fifteen minutes later you were checking your reflection on your phone before the door, collecting yourself before ringing the doorbell.

Answering it, Mark felt his heart clench- You looked ridiculously cute, glossy lips, curled lashes, slight wind-blown hair, and the oversized Puma hoodie you’ d bought last week to match your leggings. He wish you were getting all dolled up for him, causing a pang of jealousy to stab him.

“I’ll pay for delivery since you paid last time,” you remarked, stepping through the doorway to remove your shoes as your eyes searched for the giant of your affection.

Yet he was nowhere in sight... Making your way to Mark’s room with your bag, dropping it to his bed and plugging your phone into his charger. You heard the distinct sound of the refrigerator opening, bottles rattling- Perhaps it was Johnny. Turning on your heel, you planned upon seeing whom it was, but a Mark Lee was blocking your path, having just entered the threshold of his room.

“Lemme see,” you pried, your brows furrowing as he closed the door behind himself.

“It’s Taeil,” he lied, knowing what you were after.

You still wanted to check for yourself, even give the senior a greeting.

“Uh, let me through,” you paused as Mark remained in his spot.

“Why’s it always go to be about him?”

“I- What do you-”

“You know what I mean,” he interjected, raising his voice, “All of a sudden everything’s about him-”

“That’s not true,” you tried, folding your arms defensively.

“Yes it is,” he retorted, taking a step toward you, his bad attitude and mood nearly radiating off his figure, “We can’t even hang out like we used to because you’re always preoccupied with him-”

“I can’t help that I like him!” you shot back.

It took only another step and Mark was in front of you, his hands flying to grip your shoulders as his nose brushed yours for only a millisecond- You couldn’t contemplate what was taking place and before it registered, his lips were on your own, sticky lip gloss transferring.

The Sackler family became some of the world's richest billionaires through the actions of the family business, Purdue Pharma, which committed a string of felonies as it conspired to addict the world to its killer opioid, Oxycontin. The company's bribery of doctors, scientific frauds, and corruption of its regulators allowed it to kickstart the opioid epidemic, which has so far claimed 200,000 US lives, more than were lost in Vietnam.

And yet, until very recently, the Sackler family was primarily known for its art philanthropy, firehosing its money and name over some of the world's most prominent art institutions. As the family's role in corporate mass murder came to light, artists demanded that institutions remove the Sackler name. It worked! But you know who DIDN'T ditch the Sacklers as they were becoming social pariahs? Guess who expressed rock solid billionaire class solidarity with the poor, beleaguered plutes when their reputation laundry failed them?

Mike Bloomberg, of course!

As @propublica reports, when the Sacklers worried about their collapsing reputations, they knew who to turn to: the ex-mayor whose return to his news organization meant that reporters who chased billionaires were sidelined.

While Bloomberg had been mayor, his newsroom created a "billionaires team" that investigated the doings of the super-rich, including the "Friends of Mike" (FOMs) whom everyone understood to be untouchable under Bloomberg's management.

Upon his return, he heaped scorn upon these investigative reporters: "Why is that news? Why do we have to probe into that stuff?" Mike's return to the newsroom created "a culture of not wanting to upset billionaires."

So naturally the Sacklers turned to him! And Bloomberg obliged. After meeting with Mortimer Sackler, Bloomberg gave the Sacklers crisis communications advice and helped them his old mayoral press secretary, Stu Loeser. According to Bloomberg, Loeser was perfect because of his new communications company's "political instincts and deep connections."

Loeser went on to work with the Sacklers as they pushed out the story that opioid addiction was the fault of weak-willed criminal addicts, not corporate drug-pushers.

Loeser now works as a Bloomberg presidential campaign spokesman.

With Bloomberg's help, the Sacklers were able to continue to leverage their philanthropic donations to shore up their reputations, particularly by embarking on joint projects with Bloomberg Philanthropies. Bloomberg posed with Sackler heiresses at the opening of the Sackler Wing of London's Serpentine Gallery (which eventually took the Sackler name off the building), and then served as chair of the Serpentine Sackler Galleries.

His news organization ran multiple, glowing stories about the Sacklers' generosity, and continued to work closely with the Sackler families, even as they were committing a string of crimes.

Bernie Sanders is the only candidate with a climate plan as big as the climate crisis (permalink)

The climate crisis is an existential threat to our species (and many other species besides). It turns out that Keynes was more prescient that we knew. He proposed that you could start an economy by paying half the unemployed to dig holes and the other half to fill them in. Instead, we spent more than a century subsidizing our ancestors to dig up fossil fuels and now we'll have to pay our descendants to spend 200-300 years getting all that carbon back into the ground.

If we don't, our civilization will collapse and our species may go extinct. There's no time for half-measures. That's why Bernie Sanders's version of the Green New Deal is such a big deal.

He's the only leadership candidate whose plan actually confronts the scale of the crisis.

The $16T (yes, TRILLION) plan includes $2.5T to convert all US energy to renewables, "ending subsidies, mountaintop-removal coal mining, and the import and export of fossil fuels."

He'll also ask the DoJ to investigate criminal frauds committed by energy sector companies that spent millions to delay action on climate by pumping out disinformation along with their CO2.

The budget also includes $2T for a retrofit of our homes and workplaces, $1T to retrofit roads and other infrastructure.

There's $3.6T to convert the US's vehicles to electric, $85B for charging stations and $100B to improve electric car manufacture.

There's $900B for mass transit and high-speed rail, and $150B to improve emissions from aviation and marine transport.

In all, the plan creates "20 million jobs, while offering wage guarantees, job training, and other assistance to displaced energy workers."

As James Temple writes in MIT Tech Review, there are some odd quirks, like a rejection of carbon capture, but these are issues in the margin that administrative agencies staffed by independent experts (not corporate shills) might tweak.

But this is the plan we need. Remember, no one ever asked how we'd pay for WWII, and a Nazi victory would have merely put half the human race in mortal peril, while the climate crisis threatens us all, and without the hope of regime change down the road.

The purpose of the economy, the justification for markets, is that they promote human prosperity and progress. Scratching in flooded rubble for canned goods and drinking your own urine is not "progress." If our spreadsheets can't figure out how to allocate capital to heading off an extinction-level event, we need new spreadsheets. As our friends at Prager "University" like to remind us, "facts don't care about your feelings."

Cutting the UK housing subsidy led to massive homelessness payouts (permalink)

Margaret Thatcher sold off council houses to create more Tories, on the theory that home ownership made you a Conservative. But the end of council estates just meant that private landlords were able to gouge local governments for substandard housing for poor people. Predictably, this only worsened, with rents spiraling for poorly maintained, dangerous housing. Eventually, David Cameron got a genius idea: he'd cut how much money families could spend on private rent.

After all, this was much more politically feasible than ordering landlords to provide decent housing at a fair price. Landlords make campaign contributions and vote Tory, and a majority of Tory MPs are landlords themselves.

By contrast, council tenants vote Labour and are (by definition) too poor to bribe politicians. Just as with Thatcher's selloff, the outcome of Cameron's policy was totally predictable to anyone whose wealth didn't depend on their denying it.

People couldn't pay their rent, so they became homeless.

You know what's more expensive than paying rent for poor people? Helping homeless people. The savings from Cameron's cruel policy of limiting rent subsidies were totally wiped out by the millions more that local governments had to pay to find temporary shelter for the wave of homelessness Cameron had created.

That's not all, of course. Voter turnout among affected households plummeted, and when they did vote, it was in the Brexit referendum, where the housing benefit cuts strongly correlated with a Leave vote: "We also observe that a one standard deviation increase in the level of exposure to the cut in a district is associated with up to a 2.2 percentage point greater level of support for 'Leave'."

The inability of the British private sector to build affordable housing and the unwillingness of the public sector to fill in the gap has produced a ghastly quality of life. In Camden, £1500/month gets you a 27sqm "flat" whose bed is literally a mattress wedged next to the toilet.

Hi! Sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you could tell me where to find a like. Plot synopsis/layout for the beetlejuice musical? I tried looking online but I couldn’t find anything, and I thought if anyone would know it would be you! Thanks!

Also heads up to anyone that usually avoids musical spoilers but figures they don’t need to for this because theyve seen the movie, the plots very different!

Quick Summary first for anyone who doesnt want spoilers but wants to know if it’s smth they’d be interested in:

A demon invisible to everyone but other ghosts schemes to become visible to humans by first manipulating a newlydead couple, and then the living daughter of the family who moves into the deceased couple’s home.

(i’ll include song names so you can have an idea of where you are in the plot when listening to the album)Basically, the story starts with Lydia Deetz at her mother’s funeral, singing a short song Invisible about how she feels invisible and abandoned in her grief. After she leaves Beetlejuice comes, sings a song The Whole Being Dead Thing that’s basically introducing the show to the audience and warning that it will be unapologetically about death, and then after the song explains to the audience that he is a demon caught between the world of the living and the dead. He can’t interact with humans, unlike ghosts who while invisible can still do ghost-y things to them like possession, moving things, etc, and wants to change that (in a cut part of this scene that was somewhere between previews and the final frozen version of the show for broadway he explains that he scared too many humans to death and that’s why he’s stuck like this as a sort of punishment, and he wants to change it so he can go back to doing that). He explains that if someone says his name three times he’ll be able to be seen by and interact with the living, and that he has a plan.

He then goes to the home of Adam and Barbara Maitland, a couple he informs the audience is about to die. They sing the song Ready Set Not Yet, which is about how they want to have a kid and are at the stage in their 10 year life plan where they would have a kid, but they’re worried theyre not ready so they keep putting it off. At the end of the song they decide theyre CLOSE to being ready but still have some stuff they want to do beforehand, and then step on a weak part of their floor, falling into the basement and dying. Beetlejuice is there for all of this, unseen because theyre alive, and addresses the audience once more explaining that for his plan to work he needs to keep the Maitlands trapped in their home, throwing out the Handbook For The Recently Deceased that appears for them while theyre still in the basement as it would tell them that they need to proceed directly to the Netherworld. They then climb back up, realize theyre dead, and are greeted by Beetlejuice which makes them freak the hell out. So he sings The Whole Being Dead Thing Reprise telling them that he’s their guide to being a ghost. Then he tells them that time moves differently when you’re dead so while it seems like it’s only been a few minutes, someone’s already bought their house and they’ll need to scare that family out of the house if they want it to stay as it is, while he says this movers begin to come in and throw out their belongings. They agree and head up to the attic.This is when the new family comes in, Charles Deetz, his daughter Lydia that you met at the start, and Delia, the life coach Charles has hired to help Lydia move on from the loss of her mother. While Lydia is offstage it’s revealed that Charles and Delia have a romantic relationship but that they’re keeping it a secret from Lydia. When you meet the family it’s immediately clear that Lydia and her father’s relationship is rocky after the loss of her mother, Charles not wanting to talk about it and to act like everything’s fine while Lydia has developed an obsession with death, begun to dress in black, and refers to her mother as “Dead Mom”. Charles reveals to Lydia that they’re moving into this house which is upsetting to her as she wants to stay in the house they lived in with her mother, Delia fails at life coaching her, then the two adults leave her alone downstairs where she sings Dead Mom, a song to her mother essentially talking about how frustrated she is with her father for his refusal to talk about her mom and how lonely she feels without her mother as she was the person who understood her best. From there we head back up to the attic, where Barbara and Adam are getting a lesson on scaring people from Beetlejuice. It’s clear that theyre very boring and timid people who aren’t good at this in the slightest to his annoyance. They sing Fright Of Their Lives led by Beetlejuice, basically going over several methods of being scary which the two fail at, and Beetlejuice lamenting that he needs them to get the family to say his name three times to free them but that first they need to scare them and, clearly that won’t happen. ( i think this is all because humans won’t notice ghosts unless theyre forced to via unexplainable haunting type happenings, so only then can they make the humans say his name). After the song he says they won’t be able to do it and gives up, leaving, but Barbara insists that they have to and she and Adam hype themselves up singing a quick Ready, Set Reprise before throwing some bedsheets on and making ghost noises, leaving the attic.

We then see Delia and Lydia in Lydia’s new room, Lydia still miserable as Delia continues to try to “Life coach” her and cheer her up to no avail. Charles is planning a dinner party with an investor as they’ve moved here because Charles plans to set up an area of houses for rich people, and he wants Lydia to stop acting like this before then. Delia sings No Reason, a song about how great life is and why Lydia should think more positively and how everything happens for a reason, which Lydia continually derails. It also offers some insight into Delia’s character, talking about how her husband left her and she’s had a rough go of it up till now. After the song Delia leaves, and Adam and Barbara appear in the room still wearing sheets and acting like ghosts. Lydia is unfazed, merely excited at the sight thinking that they’re a sign from her mother. Barbara and Adam are thrown off and run away back to the attic, but are followed by Lydia.

The three talk and bond, Lydia finally being able to talk about her mother without being told to stop, and excited thinking that if ghosts are real then her mother must be back haunting their old home. She agrees to help them scare her dad since the Deetzes leaving is what all three of them want, and suggests that if they aren’t good enough at being scary then they should just take advantage of the fact that her father can’t see them, having her act like theyre scarier than they are. She runs into her father’s room followed by the Maitlands and screaming about ghosts, only to catch him with Delia in his bed. She learns that not only are they together, but her father has just asked Delia to marry him. He tells her that she needs a mother and they all need to be a family, to which she tells him that she wishes she was dead and runs away. We then find Beetlejuice on the roof, crying and singing a joke-y reprise of Lydia’s opening song Invisible about how much it sucks to be him. He’s interrupted by Lydia coming onto the roof with a suicide note, planning to jump. As she’s reading her note aloud and gets to a part about feeling invisible Beetlejuice agrees, used to humans not being able to see him, but Lydia does and is understandably confused as to who he is. He is VERY excited that she can see him, and asks her to say his name three times. Here we get to Say My Name, a song where Lydia and Beetlejuice go back and forth as he tries to convince her to say his name three times, but she’s understandably wary. Adam and Barbara come to the roof looking for her after she got upset and try to warn her to stay away from Beetlejuice but he possesses them in order to make them give him praise and insist he can help Lydia deal with the whole situation with her father. This just convinces Lydia further that she doesnt need him after he tells her all ghosts can possess people, pushing him off the roof and ending the song by suggesting she and the maitlands use possession to scare her father during the dinner party, turning the tables by declaring she’s gonna make her father say her name. After this we go back downstairs to Delia and Charles who are setting up for the dinner party, deciding to just carry on without Lydia as there’s no sign of her and the investor is arriving soon. After the investor arrives and they’re all sitting down for dinner Lydia comes downstairs, acting sickly sweet and wearing a yellow dress Delia bought her to Charles and Delia’s delight. She suggests Delia give a toast before dinner and she does so, however Adam and Barbara possess her mid speech, making her sing The Banana Boat Song, and soon everyone except Lydia has joined in on a very chaotic number of Day-O (The Banana Boat Song) with a reanimated roasted pig, ghostly hands made of plates of shrimp, and scariest of all, choreography. Lydia is delighted until the investor exclaims that this is good news and that they’ll make a ton of money from a haunted house, and without any other ideas, she decides to summon Beetlejuice despite the Maitlands’ protests. After his name is called three times the scene gets even more chaotic, Beetlejuice shoots fire at people, the roasted pig brandishing a knife and chasing Barbara off stage as Adam follows, and a gigantic floating Beetlejuice head and hands attacking people until everyone has ran off but Beetlejuice and Lydia. Lydia’s horror quickly dissolves as she realizes her dad has left and Beetlejuice declares that it’s their house now, and that’s how Act 1 ends.

Act 2 opens with the song Girl Scout, as a young girl scout with heart arrhythmia is wandering the neighborhood selling cookies. She explains that because of her heart condition she could die from being too scared, and then knocks on the Deetz’s door. Lydia answers and invites her in, and then Lydia and Beetlejuice scare her. This continues as more people come to the door and Lydia and Beetlejuice take turns frightening them and singing That Beautiful Sound, a song about how fun frightening people is and how glad Lydia is now that there aren’t any grown ups around. After the song, Beetlejuice states that it’s been three days since they scared everyone away and since then they’ve been running a haunted house, Lydia playing honorary ghost. He gives her a tote bag that all dead people supposedly get, and in it she finds The Handbook For The Recently Deceased. He tries to convince her she doesn’t need it because she’s not technically dead but she gets excited thinking that she could use it to bring her mom back, leaving to go find the Maitlands after realizing only dead people can open this. Beetlejuice is hurt that she abandoned him and that she would rather be with her mom and announces that even after making it so he can be seen by humans he’s still alone, so he now wants to go a step further and become human. He says that in order to do this he needs to trick Lydia into marrying him, quickly explaining it’s “just a green card thing” and he’s not actually out here trying to get with a 15 year old girl. Meanwhile Lydia has arrived at the attic where Barbara and Adam have been hiding out the last three days frightened of Beetlejuice. When she arrives theyve been talking about how to get rid of Beetlejuice as it’s not a safe situation for Lydia and they’re worried. She shows them the handbook and they open it, reading that all ghosts are supposed to go to the netherworld. They look through it but don’t see anything about bringing a ghost back from the dead, however they do read that to get to the netherworld you draw a door on the wall and then knock three times, Adam doing so with some chalk. A door opens where he drew it, leading to a mysterious foggy place with green lighting, and Adam enters a hypnotic state at the sight, beginning to head towards it. Barbara gets scared and closes both the door and the book, telling Lydia she needs to stop all this and that they’re scared for her. Lydia gets mad and says theyre scared of everything and that’s why they’ll always be trapped in the attic, then leaves.

Barbara is upset and thinks Lydia has a point, singing Barbara 2.0 (rip Children We Didn’t Have u~u) about how she and Adam are caught up in the past and how when they were alive they were pathetic and afraid of everything but now they need to toughen up and take charge of their afterlives, especially now when Lydia needs them.

At this point Charles and Delia have returned to the house to rescue Lydia! They’re accompanied by Delia’s Guru Otho who claims he has created a way to trap ghosts. Lydia and Beetlejuice see this and hide from them, Beetlejuice claiming he can help Lydia bring her mom back. He opens the book for her and tells her what spell to use, however when she uses it it’s revealed that it’s actually a spell to exorcise Barbara. He tells her the only way he can save Barbara is if she agrees to marry him, again explaining it’s just a green card thing, and she agrees having no other choice. However as he opens up the Netherworld to send the Maitlands away Lydia jumps in instead, her father running in after her before it closes.

Lydia and Charles arrive in the Netherworld and are greeted by Miss Argentina, Lydia telling her she wants to find her mother and revealing that they’re alive. At this Miss Argentina sings If I Knew What I Know Now, or as I like to call it Movie References, The Song, about how she regrets her suicide and Lydia should cherish life, other dead people chiming in with the lessons theyve learned from death (mostly telling her to avoid the dumb ways they died like smoking in bed or getting kicked by a horse, but still.) Immediately after the demon Juno arrives who is in charge of everything. She ushers the Deetzes through but an alarm goes off because they’re alive, to which she tells some dead football players to kill them, and they all run off.

Lydia runs around the Netherworld alone crying out for her mother until she finally collapses. She starts to realize this is hopeless and wonders if it’s what she should be doing. She then sings Home, about her feeling torn between her house back in the real world where she has family and a life but where she’ll never feel completely home without her mother, or here in this empty world where she might, maybe, find her. Mid song her father finds her and they have an emotional confrontation about him not letting her talk about her mother and showing no emotions regarding all of it, while in his mind he’s just doing what he has to in order to help both of them move on because the loss was so great if they dwell in it he doesn’t think they’ll ever stop. He talks about his last days with his wife and says her name for the first time in the show, presumably for the first time since she died, and Lydia makes him promised that they can talk about her as she’s terrified that she’ll forget her. She agrees to go home, her father reminding her that Beetlejuice is waiting for them. She says she feels bad for Beetlejuice because he’s so lonely but then says that they can use that to beat him. She says she has a plan thats really weird but it’ll work if he goes along with it, and her father leaves to go open the door to go back. At this Lydia concludes the song saying she’s gonna go back and that Adam, Barbara, Delia, and her father are her home. We go back to the house to see a game show set up with Adam, and Barbara as the contestants (they all have the name cards but Adam’s just says “sexy”) and Otho attached to a big spinning wheel. There’s an audience of skeletons that have such cool designs!! I thought they were puppets for a sec but no theyre ensemble!!! Beetlejuice costume designer was robbed at the Tonys. But I digress.

The game shows basically a fun set up before Beetlejuice kills everyone, and Otho’s up first. I guess he dies??? Beetlejuice spins the wheel and then it goes off stage and there’s a big crashing noise and u never see him again, so? They cut all those deaths from DC but they were like “I draw the line at Otho though this bitch CANNOT live.” and honestly? Valid. ANYWAY right after that Lydia and Charles return, Lydia wearing her red wedding dress from the movie. She pretends to actually want to marry Beetlejuice, that she left to get her dad’s blessing, and Beetlejuice doesn’t buy it. (”I mean you literally jumped into Hell to get away from me.”) Adam interjects to say that he’s also in love with Beetlejuice, going over and kissing him. Then Barbara slaps Adam and says she’s in love with him as well, leaning into kiss him but getting too grossed out and backing away. Then she says they’re ALL in love with Beetlejuice to which they all agree. They then start to sing Creepy Old Guy, basically summarized by “Beetlejuice x Lydia Shippers Have No Rights”. It starts out with Lydia Barbara and Delia sarcastically singing about how much they love when they get catcalled by old dudes and that Lydia getting to marry a guy just like that is the dream, which is p much what the rest of the song is talking about. They then both say “I Do”, technically being married, and Beetlejuice becomes alive. He has a Journey Through All The Human Emotions (check out an audio clip of it here bc its v funny) that ends in anger, so he decides to still kill everyone. Lydia then stabs him with one of Delia’s statues, revealing her plan all along was to make him human so he’d be killable. He then wakes up as a ghost, Adam opening a door to the Netherworld so he’ll enter the same trance Adam did that first time and enter. He’s stopped however by Juno entering, looking for Lydia. It’s revealed that she’s Beetlejuice’s mother and she hates him. She says no one’s allowed to go to the Netherworld and then come back so Lydia has to die, but everyone’s against this including Beetlejuice. She throws Beetlejuice into the Netherworld and heads towards Lydia, but she says she finally wants to be alive and isn’t going anywhere, and the rest of them have her back. Juno then says she’ll just kill all of them, but Beetlejuice crashes in at this point RIDING a sandworm, which eats Juno, leaving only her leg behind. Beetlejuice picks it up and says “Hey look Lydia now we both have dead moms!”, and then starts to say goodbye to everyone, giving Adam his mom’s leg, lydia the cowboy hat (Oh yeah he rode in on the sandworm now wearing a cowboy hat), and says he’ll miss her the most. Then he leaves. Lydia asks the Maitlands if they can all live there together, and Delia sadly begins to leave until Lydia asks her to stay. They all begin to clean up the house, singing along to her dead mother’s favorite song Jump In The Line, Lydia reprising Dead Mom in the middle while the others continue to sing a medley of Jump In The Line and Day-O, singing about how she’s found her home.

hmmms SO I napped a little today and while I was in and out I thought about a hizashi working with nedzu to catch the traitor and the plan included making mic a plausible person to frame! so basically going out of his way to get the rest of the staff to dislike or even hate him—Some aren’t hard, they aren’t good enough friends to really have anything built up. some are more difficult, people who are too kind to think poorly of others.

and then there’s shouta— and he knows this will hurt the most, but he needs everyone to dislike and doubt his intentions—and he knows all of his buttons, so there’s no one better for the job!

(And the thing is, shouta knows that there’s something going on, that the behavior is intentional. It stung the first few times, but when it kept happening it started to come clear that it was intentional— well, shouta starts to try to figure out why he’s doing it. He watches helplessly as hizashi becomes more isolated from his peers, shunned in places he would flourish. Even Nemuri is calling him annoying, lately)

(he’s horrified when snipe suggests he’s the traitor and he’s just getting antsy.)

fish: (Shouta stares helplessly from his desk as Nemuri steps and stands like a wall in front of Hizashi, blocking the door. He can see the way Hizashi responds, hands creeping up to rest on his hips and head cocked. He doesn’t need to see his face to know that there’s a sharp grin.

“Mic,” Nemuri starts, Hizashi showing no obvious flinch at his hero name or the tone, “you need to either take a vacation or quit.” A moment of silence passes, enough to attract looks from the rest of the staff.

Snipe looks pissed, his body set in a hard line. Ectoplasm’s mouth is set in a frown, eyes staring into Hizashi’s back. Even Toshinori is shuffling, rubbing his arm absently. Most are of the same.

“And why’s that, Midnight?” Hizashi finally asks, issuing a challenge in his voice. Shouta can’t remember the last time he heard it and it didn’t sound sharp and so uncharacteristic for his friend.

“You’ve been upsetting the students—“

“Well, they haven’t been doing a good job, yeah? Can’t quit and leave them with no English teacher when they’re falling this far behind.” Hizashi interrupts, jabbing his finger into her space. That’s two of Nemuri’s biggest peeves, and her face darkens in an answer.

“They certainly don’t need a dick for a teacher, either.” She says, voice carefully in line. “In fact, it just so turns out that you’re not the only one who speaks English fluently on staff.” Hizashi makes a show of scoffing.

“Right, the teacher who gets his techniques out of a book. Don’t make me laugh, it’s not April Fools!” Hizashi barely wastes time to shoulder past Nemuri, leaving the room deadly silent. Toshinori is hanging his head down, eyes squeezed shut. Nemuri’s doing breathing exercises, rubbing at a temple.

Shouta has a sinking feeling.)

@balentay : shouta watches quietly, uneasy and unsettled. He catches Hizashi's unguarded moments when his shoulders slump and he seems down. But then he catches himself and its back to his act

fish: yes— and he doesn’t know how to approach hizashi without having the man pick through him cruelly, try and cut him away from his space

he would think that maybe found out about his feelings and was disgusted but he can’t, not when hizashi is being standoffish to everyone else as well

(Hizashi knows how to hit at every one of his insecurities. It takes his breath away when he’s called emotionless, punches him in the gut when he’s called a poor friend. yet shouta knows— this is not hizashi. It is him— shouta used his quirk once when his back was turned, fearing that he’d turn into a small, sharp-eyed girl or fall away into liquid across the floor, only to find that he remained just the same— but this is not who hizashi is. He’s just got to bare through it, find the common thread behind the sudden behavior.)

@balentay : so he watches. he watches the man alienate the staff slowly but surely. he watches as slowly but surely each face closes off and hardens whenever hizashi enters the room (he swaggers now, a cruel and confident smile curling his lips that sets Shouta's teeth on edge. this is not Hizashi, he reminds himself. he has to be doing this for a reason. but what?).

how even thirteen, amiable , friendly thirteen eventually grows sick of him and leaves him alone.

he alienates the students too. this is... not okay, but shouta cant confront him without playing his hand or forcing hizashi's. not when he doesnt have all the facts

fish: (He doesn’t even realize that they weren’t communicating at all outside of UA, not even to share their patrol times with each other until two months into the charade. He recognizes the fear settling low in his stomach, a cold anticipation weighing him down.

It’s realized when a meeting at UA is called with specific instructions not to inform Hizashi in any way. When Snipe suggests that Hizashi is the traitor, he feels it in the way that he’s the only one ready to object. Even looking at Nemuri, she has a thinly veiled irritancy marking her face. When another teacher mentions that Hizashi is pushing for information he wouldn’t normally have, the room breaks out into murmurs— except for shouta, who is dead silent and afraid.

He thinks he understands now.)

@balentay : its hard to breath when he realizes what hizashis doing. its like the weight of the world is crushing down on him all while the realization hangs suspended and crystal clear.

(he still watches his friend for days afterwards, hoping against hope he's wrong. that his friend isnt being stupidly, nobly self sacrificing. but what other answer is there?

he approaches hizashi when he's absolutely certain, catching hizashi's car door when he swings it open to go home. hizashi, who's been so absorbed in his own world, startles and stares at him with wide eyes for a moment before he recovers and arranges himself against him car so he can lounge and smirk.

"eraser" he practically purrs. he lets his eyes roam up and down shouta's body in a way he knows his friend hates. shouta feels his lips press together, but he refuses to rise to his friends' taunt. "what can i do for you?"

"hizashi, we need to talk.")

(and hizashi? is still too pathetically gone on his best friend to say no. they get in his car and they drive off. shouta doesnt let him take him home. hizashi doesnt offer.

instead, they drive out of town and to the middle of nowhere. where shouta can safely demand answers.

that doesnt mean hizashi is expecting him to. later, he'll wonder why hes so surprised shouta worked out what's going on or saw right through him)

fish: (hizashi, who hates that he's hurting everyone in his immediate circle.)

(who fears that even after his intentions are revealed after the true traitor is captured that his friends will never see him the same way again.)

("Shouta," Hizashi says, his voice a stuttering mess. The talk hadn't been pleasant, pushing Hizashi to the edge of tears. He's a people pleaser at heart, and to be hurting everyone and alienating anyone he cares for-- well, it's too much. "Shouta, you've got to treat me horribly, Shouta. It's the only way this will work." He's aware that he keeps repeating Shouta's name but-- he's got to get it out of his system, clinging to what little time he has to be himself.

"Hizashi, you don't need to do this--" Hizashi cuts him off with a jerking shake of his head, grounding his hands on Shouta's shoulders. He slumps, and breaths out.

"I've got to, Shou. I'm the best candidate. Nedzu will start a private investigation and find me guilty with planted evidence. I'll go to Tartarus. It'll give you and Nedzu the time you need to catch the real traitor.")

(Shouta rapidly inhales. Hizashi, in Tartarus-- for crimes he didn't commit, to give everyone else an opportunity to catch the traitor getting cocky. Shouta can feel a tremor in his own body, and while he's not on the cusp of tears like Hizashi, he wouldn't be surprised for his eyes to leak tears. He feels stupid for not realizing sooner what Hizashi's plan was. He feels like a failure for not catching on sooner, for not having a better alternative that doesn't leave his friend caged like an animal with some of the most notorious villains of their time.)

Pay Your Way (Dutch X f!Reader)

Writing this… might have sparked… a crush on Dutch??

Warnings: Slight dub-con (in the form of pursuasion) and smut

You follow Dutch to a secluded area outside camp, your nerves building within your chest atthe way he’d sounded when he’d spoken to you.

“I need a word with you,” he’d told you.

Dutch comes to a stop in a heavily wooded area; the treesforming a canopy overhead that blocksmost of the mid-day sunlight out. “What’s this about, Dutch?” you ask, tryingto act considerably less uncomfortable than you are. Dutch scratches his mustache with one hand, standing with the otherone on his hip. He looks stressed – more than usual – and he has black bagsunder his eyes from the lack of sleep. You watch him pace for a few seconds –the nervousness that bubbles away in your chest getting stronger and strongerwith each second that he refuses to answer your question. “Dutch, I asked –“

“I know what you asked, woman,” he snaps. “What this isabout is the fact that you need to start pulling your weight.”

“Excuse me?”

“Some of the boys –“

“You mean Micah.“

“ – think that you’re not doing enough for the group and Ihave to admit that they’re right.”

“I do plenty!” you argue, your cheeks burning from the angersparked by his insinuation.

“Like what?” he asks, throwing his hands out beside him.

You take a moment to think and your shoulders sink a littleas you struggle to name a single thing that you contribute. He has you; noquestion there. Truth is, you’ve only been with the group for less than 4months and why should you have to clean the boys’ dirty, bloodsoaked clothesall day just because they chose tobring you along with them?

“Sweetheart,” Dutch sighs. “I like havin’ you around and I’mglad we took you in when we did; I really am. But if you don’t have anything tooffer, then I’ll have to start thinkin’about cuttin’ you loose.”

“No… no.” Youshake your head and step towards him, closing the gap between the two of youand placing your hand over your heart. “You can’t do that to me, Dutch. When Ijoined you boys, I got a price put on myhead for it. If you leave me out there, I’ll get caught. I’ll swing, Dutch.I’ll –“

“Okay, okay, calm down,” he tells you, placing his hands onyour shoulders and trying to coax you out of the cloud of panic that swells inyour mind and chest as you think about the gravity of your situation. “I’m surewe can think of something,” he adds.

“I ain’t a good worker, Dutch. I don’t… I can’t do thethings that the other girls do. It’s just not in my nature.”

“Oh, I’m wellaccustomed to your nature afterseein’ you work your magic with those fellers in Valentine.” He chuckles for amoment before his face slowly begins to drop. You may have only known Dutch fora few months, but you’ve seen enough ideas flit through that mind of his toknow what he looks like when he’s thinking one through. “Say… maybe thatnature could be the very solution to our problem.”

You look at him in confusion as he rubs your shouldersgently with his thumbs. “What’re you thinkin’, Dutch?”

He tucks a lock of hair behind your ear and leans in close.“I’m thinkin’ that maybe you’re better off payin’ your way in much more excitingways than cooking or cleaning,” he informs you, speaking softly in a hushedvoice. “It’s definitely sordid and distasteful, but I’m sure a woman of your…nature… wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty.”

He returns his hand to your shoulder – using it to slowlypush you down onto your knees – and your cheeks are now burning with a littlemore than just anger. Shame, embarrassment, uneasiness; you name it, you’refeeling it. But you know you don’t belong doing runt work or wearing a ropenecklace, so you don’t see yourself having much choice in the matter.

“I don’t… I mean, we shouldn’t –“

“Darlin’, you are living with a group of dangerous andhighly wanted outlaws. It’s a little late to be contemplating what you shouldand shouldn’t be doing, don’t you think?”

Your knees settle into the dirt; sinking down into the mudof the forest floor as Dutch unbuttonshis pants. “But… Miss O’Shea…” you whisper.

“What Miss O’Shea doesn’t know can’t hurt her,” he purrs,pushing your hair back and holding onto a handful of it. “Now why don’t you openyour mouth and show me why you belong with us.”

You do as he tells you, opening your mouth as he pulls himself out of his pants and places the tip onto yourflattened tongue. You close your lipsaround him and start sucking gently, earning a moan from Dutch as he throws hishead back and begins chuckling.

“Well,” he speaks through a sharp exhale of breath. “If I’dhave known your mouth was this delightfully warm, I’d have put you to work assoon as I brought you home.”

He lets go of the fistful of hair and begins combing his fingers through it as he watches youbob your head back and forth slowly. Precum leaks onto your tongue as he twitchesbetween your baby-soft lips and you pull himout for a moment to take a look around. Raising your hand and gripping himfirmly, you spit onto his tip and spread the lubricant around with your hand asyou glance around at the trees. There’s nobody there, but you can’t shake thethought of someone catching you and the feeling of how awful it would be if word got back to camp. Youdefinitely prefer “this line of work” over cleaning or cooking, and you unequivocallyfavour it over being thrown out into the wilderness with nothing but the clotheson your back. But that doesn’t mean you’re proudof what you’re doing here in this forest and it doesn’t mean you’d be happy tolive out the rest of your days with the gang, being subjected to all sorts of beratement, funny looks, and wisecracks.

“You feelin’ skittish, my dear?” Dutch asks, pulling your lingering gaze away from the bushes that stir in the breeze. “I can assure you thateveryone in that camp has seen – and done– a lot worse than this. So if they happened to find us in this mildlycompromising position, I promise they wouldn’t do much more than bat an eyelid.”

You take his word for it and continue your work; slidingyour hand back and forth along his shaft and rubbing the underside of his tipwith your thumb and you gently run your tongue alongthe slit. He throws his head back once more and grunts primordially – the mostanimalistic and untamed that you’ve ever seen this well-educated and smartly dressed man behave – and you give a smallmoan that sends him over the edge.

His hips jolt and he pulls back, grabbing hold of your hairinstinctively and ordering you to stick your tongue out as far as you can.You follow his orders – ever the obedient young woman – and he holds you inplace as he spills onto your tongue, holding himself at the base with his otherhand. You wait for him release the vice grip he has of your hair and heeventually does; stepping back and leaving you free to climb to your feet and dust the dirt off your knees.

“Well,” Dutch pants, leaning back against the tree to catchhis breath. “I’d say you’ve won me over, Miss. I guess there’d be no sense inseein’ you wander out into the wilderness just yet.”

“So I can stay?” you ask him,wiping your mouth on the back of your hand.

“For now,” he jokes. “Yes, of course you can stay. I ain’tgonna bring you out this far into the East just to let you get hung by some trigger-happy,over-confident lawmen.”

You breathe a sigh of relief that morphs into a chuckle as thebreath that you’ve been holding for 30 seconds empties from your lungs. “Well,I’m glad I could persuade you, Mr Van Der Linde. I like runnin’ with you boys. I’m even startin’ to warm up to Bill.”

“Well that is quite a feat,” he laughs, gesturing for you towalk with him. “You have more patience that the lot of us put together. Thatdog has been with us for five years and I still have yet to warm up to him.”

The two of you make your way back to camp, stepping overfallen branches and plodding through ditches. Dutch comes to a stop just shortof the camp, putting his arm out in front of you to stop you in your tracks. “Itmay be best if we skulk back into camp seperately and as quiet as possible… Avoid raising toomany questions,” he suggests.

“I thought you said the others wouldn’t care,” you question.

“Sweetheart, I was heavily invested in keeping you in thatforest for as long as it took for me to… well, you know.” He looks at youwith a smirk. “In all honestly, I would have told you I was the king of France if it meant the taskat hand was finished.”

“And coming from your mouth I would have believed it, nodoubt,” you smile, shaking your head.

“They always do,” he smiles, stepping forward and enteringthe camp covertly as you lag behind, waiting for your opportunity to rejoin thegroup of women who sit in their tents, washing clothes and chattering quietly among themselves.
