Just to inform you, guys. I’m intending that, for the majority of our Sparkling AU, it’s an AU, so it’s not about the characters when they are actually babies anymore. It’s basically about the whole entire TFP story except it’s set in a universe where there are no actual wars. The whole ‘war’ thing is just some sparklings going into groups and play-fighting with their imaginations. Every character that ‘died’ in this universe are just either moving to another school (ex: Cliffjumper & Elita One) or got tired of the game and didn’t wanna play anymore (Ex: Skyquake, Dreadwing, and Breakdown). And all the human characters are all little ragdolls that are brought to life by the sparkling’s imaginations.
cause the actual show crippled me and this is my denial mechanism.

thomas is such an interesting character because everything he does is so affected by his trauma. and even though there’s layers to that trauma, all of those layers stem from or ultimately come back to one event (his death). his trauma is complex, but at the same time it happened in a millisecond.
we don’t see other characters react the way he does to sudden loud noises (save for the captain at times, but that’s just him I think) or have the obviously deeply flawed thought processes he has. he’s stuck in a cycle of almost recreating the build-up to the traumatic event or searching for the same thing over and over again (women who look like Isabelle did, frankly). obsessing over things, but especially women, to the point where at times he is actively trying to convince himself he’s in love.
we see this very clearly in season 3 with his rapid switching of love interests between two women who happen to look alike, and he even twists Mary’s words so it affirms to him that what he is experiencing is infatuation and not a very, very long lived and deeply ingrained trauma response.
his lack of boundaries is not okay by any means, but ultimately I’ve met so many people with complex trauma (which I also have) who have shockingly similar thought patterns. his understanding of love is both immature/underdeveloped and tainted by the pain his mind associates with it by default.
final note for this rant: the fact thomas touches his wound when romance or death are brought up is such a clever detail regarding all of this.

I am all against the "social" social media (that's why I almost esclusively used tumblr) but I think TikTok should have existed in 2009 to make very shirt aesthetic edit of Jenson Button at Brawn being sad during the entire second half of the season + montage of various people Luca di Montezemolo saying he's not world champion material/he doesn't have that one extra bit with the audio "There's really no way of winning/ If in their eyes you'll always be a dumb blonde"

mr house never being able to replicate his courier six because they never let him scan them, so all he has are a few shoddy recordings he took to recreate the courier from. his replicas of courier six are flawed: none are as perceptive, resourceful and proactive. they aren't good at out-of-the-box thinking or improvising. their problemsolving, diplomacy skills and technological innovation ideas fall short of the original and are just another disappointment every time. they end up hollow shells like jane, marilyn and victor. letting new vegas go, ruin itself in pursuit of recreating his perfect right hand again, hope for another fruitful partnership and bright future of the mojave like they did before is so delicious it makes me sick actually send tweet ✌

in love with both the roleswap ficlet you have as well as Utopia. im curious, what are your thoughts/hopes with rin? i feel like she always gets the short end of the stick when it comes to fics and id love to hear anything about her from you
I do have a soft spot for characters who haunt the narrative - who create an empty space so tangible that the void is its own character. When Obito and Kakashi stood in the same room in Utopia, I always considered the imprint she left on them as a third character. Not Rin herself - just how she damaged them. I think it's heartwarmingly toxic yaoi how Kakashi stole Obito's personality, so I decided that Kakashi actually stole the erotic novels from Rin. She was a superfan of bodice ripper steamy romance novels, as it turns out.
You have to make up your own personality for Rin. So I made decisions as an author about writing her for the roleswap. I wanted her to be the Naruto figure - the leader, the glue who held everybody together, the one who was very smart about people. She was just as stubborn and fiercely smart as the boys, but because her genius was in noncombat arts it was overlooked. The idealist and optimist, who hoped so genuinely for a better world. One where she could protect the people she loved. I think Rin loved far, far too much. She and the boys were thrown into insanely traumatic situations far too young, and as a result I think they developed a codependent trauma bond that resulted in over-emotional reliance and falling in desperate teenage love with each other.
As we all know, in Naruto these traits are the recipe for either the greatest hero or the most insane supervillain in the series. The most dangerous person in Naruto is the person who loves too much, who believes in a better world where peace and love and happiness can reign, and who has the power to make it a reality. The person who's lost everything, and as such has nothing to lose.
I don't think one little sword and seal can kill a jinchuuriki.
Yeah, Rin plays a major role in the AU lmfao. Personally, I support women's wrongs. As does Kakashi. #feminisminnaruto

Tagged by @wildlife4life for wip Wednesday! Here’s a little bit from s7 spec/missing presumed fic
The 118 had already been on the ship for over an hour before they’d found Athena, limping and corralling a panicked group of survivors. He and Eddie had been a team, working together easy as they always do, even in a situation as grim as this one. And it was grim, bodies already limp in the water before they’d boarded, whole floors of the ship dismissed as too dangerous to attempt any search and rescue. He could feel it every time Eddie’s eyes drifted to him, checking him over, watching for signs of distress like he hadn’t also been out in the tsunami dealing with much of the same shit he had.
“At least Chris isn’t here this time,” Buck had said, a joke that had fallen so flat it was rigid in his throat, almost cut him on the way out.
Kind of late in the day but @rewritetheending @malewifediaz @eddiebabygirldiaz @lover-of-mine @shitouttabuck @alliaskisthepossibilityoflove @bigfootsmom if you have anything to share!

@boleynism replied to your post:
It's a great summary, although I'm not sure 'bullying' is the best word choice (...hectoring?); unless, of course we're taking Chapuys at 100% face value (which...off the dome, incorrect report of the name of Anne's first child, incorrect report that Mary was going to be sent to serve Anne as maid in waiting, report that there were no bonfires celebrating Elizabeth's christening was contradicted by two other sources...only the first of which he ever admitted the error, which he would never have gotten away with doing otherwise, as she was a significant child, the second of which he still claimed was true but that Anne had changed her mind and decided to send her to Elizabeth's household instead).
And it's the reality of power, really...gaining power, securing power, maintaining power (or, as Thomas has argued here, safety) can be very ugly. These were not Disney princesses we're talking about. But there's a certain Janus face to all this, also: in all likelihood, Anne completely believed that everything she did was justified, because she wanted to use that power for good ("pardon me from your hearts [...] that I have not done all the good that was in my power to do.” ), for causes she believed in, that's all tied up in that fierce maternal instinct (""A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.") as well.
