Why I dislike Tim x Bernard but like Jon x Jay So they're both that 2010 cringe tumblr yaoi fetish type of relationship, but here's the thing.

Tim is a very established messy person and a pretty bad partner. I'm no Tim expert but from what I've read and heard he's a pretty bad partner, so IMO to suddenly make him a good sweet partner now he's dating a guy, is a weird choice to me. - also to add they made him tell Steph and canon he broke up with her because he realised he was bi ?? what in the biphobia?? Also maybe this is insane to say but kinda feels like they've written it into his character as a hey! hes relavent now look hes queer! that's a personal opinon though. Why I think Jon x Jay get a pass on being super cringey. 1 I think Jon himself is a little cringey in general, and I say this with absolute love for my boy. My son. He's just a little cringey, but also Jon lost a large chunk of his teenage years to yk, being tortured and all that. This is Jon's expermental stage. He's finding himself out, but also discovering his sexuality and identity. He's learning himself as boyfriend, what its like to bisexual and in his first queer relationship. I don't really want Jay to be his Lios, I don't want this to be in end game in the slightest. But I firmly think Jon deserves his first very cringey queer relationship. Really what I'm saying is, it feels like DC has changed Tim in order to ship him with Bernard and made some weird biphobia around it. Jon and Jay are super cringy but we are looking at a new version of Jon discovering himself and sometimes that makes you a little cringy.

Galvatron has a little brother called Megastorm who wants to kill him (Galvatron knows this and still makes all the excuses for him because he loves his little bro). Megastorm wants to be the leader and at the start of the show Starscream bragged that he'll: "Let Megastorm deal with his brother, then I'll defeat Megastorm and take command!" But Megastorm is a bit of a petulant asswipe and Starscream had a kind of "Hey maybe I don't want to be the leader as much as I want a leader who is nice and respects me" and actively tries to protect Galvs in some episodes.

One episode Galvatron threatens to fire them if they fail (no physical punishment, just unemployment) and when BB, Starscreams best buddy, worries about getting fired Starscream tells him "Nah it's all good, Galvatron hates to cut off a good worker, do your best and nothing will happen regardless of success" (something I feel was spoken from experience honestly).

Galvatrons motivation is to become strong enough to protect the peace. It's only in the final episode there are some rushed lines regarding taking over the universe in such a manner that it feels like they forgot he was meant to be evil. The only time he ever actually attacks his own men is when he gets drugged/isn't in control (drank spiked oil or was being controlled by his 'dragon brain'/animalistic) and even then he more just chases them around.

BWII is a very weird show where it feels like you're picking up on a theme only for that to go nowhere and missed opportunities.

This may be controversial to say, but I am a bit annoyed with Ant for engaging with KP and Lio over how to "handle" Lily. Then again, maybe I'm just simplifying this as more conflict between Lily critics that seems to never end. Imo, I wouldn't even bother entertaining the criticism or anger, but that's just me. Not everyone is comfortable going over allegations involving assault or grooming, and dunking on bad takes can be hilarious. But maybe I'm wrong? I dunno. I don't think this will end well for anyone involved tbh

Wild take, I'm sure, but ultimately responding to these people in any way is them luring you out and they are waiting with a hammer. It doesn't matter if they hit you for something you actually did do or for something they made up because despite your indignation at the end of the day they still hit you with a hammer and that's all they care about.

They're using Ant and other's frustration with being forced to sit there and take the most God awful things being said about them by Courtney while being unable to respond and it's working unfortunately well because at the end of the day Ant's right. Lio and KP have to room to be making threats while using Courtney as an excuse and Courtney while being the most effected by Lily in more than one way shouldn't be just completely unchecked and unfree of criticism.

I get Courtney's frustration. I get she wants something done yesterday and she wants it done her way, I'm a victim of incest csa too and my abuser is also still out there with no consequences and I'm very lucky no real online presence, but ultimately Sai told her and everyone else all along "I am not a Lily Orchard call-out channel, I am a jester and there are some things I am not equipped to discuss the way they deserve to be." She's not Joon. She's not SWOOP. She's not Malcolm or anyone else like that.

The closest thing she is... Drawing Dork, but the artistic inclination is drawing instead of playing guitar and she has both arms.

That doesn't mean that she shouldn't be allowed to talk about Lily especially after Lily genuinely try to take down her channel with those false copyright strikes.

The only reason he didn't take her to court is because his lawyer said Lily has nothing to take. A civil suit would do nothing meaningful and it wouldn't prove that she's the abuser of anything but the copyright system. I don't even think YouTube would take her down for that, they haven't taken her down while acknowledging that her false reports were completely unfounded.

There's just nothing anyone over here can do that's more meaningful than laughing at her and making her angry. Courtney doesn't get to control how people talk about her sister or what people find important about her sister to talk about.

Everybody here still 100% agrees and acknowledges that Courtney was harmed deeply by her sister, everybody here acknowledges that she has had no justice. We also acknowledge that we cannot bring her or give her any comfort in this. We cannot give her the justice she deserves. And I think that's a good thing.

I think acknowledging that we are not the authority here and we are not capable of giving her what she deserves is the right thing to do. I think it is completely dishonest on the deepest level to look at Courtney and tell her "I will bring you the Justice you deserve and relief from what you are dealing with." then build it up like you're going to do something while fueling her very clear mental decline with screenshots of people saying things in other servers and blustering in live streams about how you scraped a server and you're going to be looking into this and you're the biggest dick and pounding your chest. That isn't for Courtney. That's for you.

Sending her screenshots and telling her that people are talking shit about her when they are confronting you on a multiple year long history of bullying other people isn't for Courtney. That's for you.

That isn't being a good friend. That isn't being a protector. That's fueling your own ego and you're using someone who is openly bleeding in front of you to do it. But it's pathetic, that is selfish, that is immature and the only person who is going to be paying for that behavior in any meaningful way is Courtney.

I can't even sit here and pretend like I have Courtney's best interest in heart because ultimately I'm just some nobody on a Tumblr blog who archives Lily Orchard and shows other predators online like Birdie, Taxxon, and Poppy to people because they just don't know about it. I can't give her what she needs either but at least I recognize that I can't do that.

I'm not even mad at Courtney anymore, I'm mad at the people around her. Would I want to open myself up to Courtney as a friend or someone close? No. I can't be that person for her. I can't do that. I don't think anybody online can do that. I don't think we have the training or the proper mindset to do that. I think she needs somebody professional who will devote themselves to her in a way is honestly hard to find in mental health care. I've been there. I'm in my own journey to healing from what happened to me. It feels impossible and sometimes it feels like I'm in some sisyphean hell just trying to get out of bed.

She's trapped in limbo right now like the rest of us and her frustration is not only clear but warranted at this point.

That also doesn't mean that I should stop talking about these people because I am completely incapable of actually affecting them in any meaningful way because the more information I can get out there and the more information that I can put in front of people who don't know means that there are less people who will fall into maybe not even their specific clutches but also people like them. That's all I'm doing here. That's all any of us should be doing here.

Absolutely. Any time. I love thinking about this stupid movie.

So I forced a bunch of my friends to watch Promare with me and on the one hand the parts where Galo was like "Lio don't kill him!" all of my friends were like NO DO IT PLEASE END HIM which was really funny.

But. But but but. I do think it's super important that Galo refused to kill him.

Okay, so there's several parts to this. To start with I don't think that Kray being Kray was really an important factor in Galo trying to keep him alive. Like, we are WELL past Galo holding any respect for the man, and they did just spend the last like 15 minutes of the movie beating his ass. And yes, Galo absolutely has a lot of emotions to unpack about him, but none of those feelings have anything to do with the decision not to murder him.

So Galo tries to 'defend' Kray twice. The first one is when Kray starts taunting Lio after their robot battle and Lio fucking loses it. He tears himself out of Lio de Galon and Galo shouts out "Wait don't kill him!" And I think there's two reasons for this, at least for this first moment.

One: Galo does not think it's right to kill. That's just a given, he's a fire fighter, his whole job is to keep people alive, and I don't think any amount of anger is going to make him change his mind on that. But more than that, he doesn't think it'd be right to kill someone who 'can't fight back.' Because in that moment, they have no idea Kray still has an ace up his sleeve. He just knows that Lio is angry and not in his right mind.

Which leads me to Two: Galo doesn't want LIO to kill, because Lio thinks it's important not to kill. It's the same reason he stopped Dragon-Lio from destroying the city, and confronted him in Aina's helicopter instead of, I dunno, shooting him in the head with an ice gun. Lio doesn't want to be the monster everyone thinks he is. He doesn't want to be a murderer, no matter how much people deserve it. Lio said over and over again that the burnish would only hurt someone if forced.

And in this moment, Lio is being tormented and brought to the brink, but he's not acting in self defense. He's not doing it to protect anyone. They already won (quote unquote). And I think Galo knew intrinsically that Lio killing Kray would absolutely destroy Lio from the inside.

But the second time Galo saves Kray I think is way more interesting. This is right before the kiss of life scene, when he destroyed the engine and pulled Lio free. Again, his decision not to kill Kray had nothing to do with Kray.

And also, it kind of had everything to do with Kray.

Because Kray almost killed everyone. He truly and sincerely believed that the majority of humanity had to be sacrificed for the greater good. And sure, there was a good dose of megalomania in there, but he genuinely thought the Burnish and anyone he didn't invite on the ship needed to be killed to protect humanity as a whole. And isn't it worth it, to sacrifice the rest of humanity if it means a select few make it?

And Galo looked him in the eyes, said fuck that, and decked him in the jaw.

Because Galo didn't believe him. No amount of justification would make this right. There was no world for Galo in which people had to be killed for the greater good. Galo was going to save every last person on the fucking planet, and was not going to compromise his morals to do it just because Kray didn't think he could.

Kray told him he had to kill in order to save, and Galo said no, I don't even have to kill you. And I won't. And I love that.

I probably shouldn't keep going, because I still have a million and one thoughts about these little guys and this post is getting too long, but if you want to read 93,000 words dissecting Lio Fotia and his trauma I did write this fic about it.

I also read the blurbs about Livy and Lucie talking about growing up during a wine night and how Mack and Liv's convos “evolved” as they got older. I wondered if we could explore a girl's night with all the “spicy” talk and gossip with Lucie, Liv, Mack, and Sav during a Flashback night? Maybe some of the boys Facetime to check in and get a little offended when they are hung up on. I would love to hear your thoughts!!!

A warm breeze blows through the open windows of Lucie and Connor’s Switzerland house down the road from the Meier and Hischer homes. Tonight is girls night- a weekly tradition the girls have been participating in since they arrived for their off-season vacations weeks ago.

Last summer, the tradition was started and this summer, the girls picked it up like they never stopped. Crackers, charcuterie and cupcakes are picked over at the kitchen counter. Red wine has been refreshed in each of the girls’ glasses as they chat about the latest card Livy flipped over of the conversation game she picked up to facilitate discussion. The cards range from a variety of topics. Tonight, the theme is spicy.

“Would you be open to sharing your current partner in the bedroom?”

“No.” Mack shakes her head. “I would claw a bitches eyes out.”

“I believe that.” Savannah agrees. “Yeah, I’m out on that too.”

“Agreed.” Lucie nods.

“I would be open to someone watching but not participating.” Livy says honestly.

“I feel like that would have to be a stranger.” Lucie says. “Like it couldn’t be someone you knew. If it was a stranger…” Lucie blushes. “Yeah, I’m with you there.”

“You think?” Savannah asks. “I would feel more comfortable if it was someone we knew. A stranger would be… too much for me.”

“I’m a no on a watcher.” Mack announces. “David and I have enough going on between the two of us. A third doesn’t feel necessary. Also the clawing of eyes would still stand.”

Livy passes the deck over to Lucie for her to draw the next card.

“Okay. What’s an experience you’ve had in the bedroom that left you disappointed?”

The girls pause, taking sips of their wine as they contemplate.

“I dated this guy who would sigh before going down on me.” Mack admits. “He would be between my thighs, look down and sigh.” She narrows her eyes and curls her lip in slight disgust.

“Oh my god!” Livy laughs, slapping her thigh. “I feel like you still hooked up with him tho. Be honest!”

“I did! He was a glass blower. I thought he was so cool!” Mack starts to laugh louder, tears filling in her waterline at how ridiculous that guy was. “He did not deserve kitty, but he was decent as the actual fucking part so… I kept seeing him.”

“The guy I was on and off with in high school would never go down on me. I would ask him and he would flat out refuse. He even called it gross. Only Connor has done that, actually. But trust, it was worth the wait.” Lucie giggles.

“Can’t relate.” Livy shrugs. They all cheers her with their wine glasses. Having Luca Fiala as her first has spoiled Liv beyond what she can comprehend.

“I hooked up with this guy I had to nickname SpongeBob tongue.” Savannah says.

“Ew. Oh my god.” Lucie clasps her hand over her mouth.

“He was so fast and aggressive. And it was all tongue. No sucking or building. It was so hard not to laugh.”

“Did you say something to him?” Livy asks.

“Yeah. He took it well.” Savannah shakes her head, cringing. “But I think he talked to someone because next time I saw him he wanted to like… show me what he learned.”

“Oh that’s kinda hot tho.” Mack murmurs.

“I don’t know. If that were me, he would forever be known as SpongeBob tongue.” Lucie insists.

“Well… the heart wants what the heart wants.” Savannah purses her lips then shrugs at Lucie. Savannah starts to laugh as the room registers who her “hook up” was.

“SHUT UP!!!!”

“Lio was SpongeBob tongue!?” Mack begins to laugh hysterically. “I’m never going to recover from this information.”

“Aw man. Now that story is ruined for me.” Liv chokes.

"Hey!" A whine comes from the open window.

The girls freeze.

"Come on, babe. SpongeBob tongue!?” Lio pops up through the open window.

"What the hell!" Lucie yells.

"Creep." Mack scoffs.

"Seriously, Lio?" Liv whines.

"What? You know I have FOMO, Livy."

"Forever." Savannah confirms, taking a non-chalant sip of her wine. If she's embarrassed about Lio hearing her, she doesn't show it.

"Babe, tell them I'm better now." Lio demands, putting his hands on his hips.

"I said what I said." Savannah shrugs. "But in general you're better… SpongeBob.”

"In general !!!!! SPONGEBOB!!!” Connor Wood pops up laughing so hard he is wheezing. "Li-OOOO!"

"Fuck my life."

"Of course you're with him. It's beevus and butthead over there." Liv chuckles. Her smug look drops off her face when her husband pops up. "How could you."

"I'm sorry. I was dragged." Luca sighs.

"David Carlson, I swear to GOD!” Mack hisses, sitting up and scowling over at the group of boys.

"He's not here." Lio rolls his eyes. "He's with the dad's by the bonfire." Mack smiles proudly. Good boy.

"You three should go back there too." Lucie insists, crossing her arms over her chest. "David's the only one of you with any sense."

"Baby, what did you say about me?" Connor asks, eyebrows raised expectantly. "You tell them about this morning??" He wiggles his eyebrows now.

"No." Lucie mumbles, shaking her head. "Wasn't much to talk about..."

Connor gasps. Lio explodes with laughter. Luca smirks, making eye contact with Livy who blushes. He certainly rocked her world this morning.

"Luca seems to be the only one of you here who gets the job done regularly."

"Bullshit. Livy is just too nice." Lio scoffs immediately. He isn't even disgusted by the topic, too disgruntled by his wife's lack of praise to be. Luca shrugs with his hands in his pockets.

"Whatever strokes your ego, Meier."

"Oh hilarious. Keep it up. I will tell my dad about who really broke the hot tub."

"Luca, leave him alone!" Livy yelps. Lio took the fall for that a few years ago and Livy wants it to stay that way. Luca looks over at Livy, giving her an easy smile.

"Come home with me, baby."

"Okay." Livy smiles, fluttering up from her seat and beginning to gather her stuff.

"What? Liv!" Mack laughs, throwing a pillow at her.

"Okay. I see how it is. Boys then cousins." Lucie grumbles.

"Yeah, you should recognize the gesture." Liv teases her older cousin. Mack laughs.

“Marco…. Connor…. That one guy early freshman year.”

“Fuck Marco.” Connor snaps.

"Enjoy your night, Livy." Savannah smirks then returns her gaze to her husband. "Lio. Seriously, you are fine. Go home."

As Livy shuffles out of the house, the boys disappear back into the dark they popped up from. Lio starts blowing up Savannah’s texts while she remains pleasantly unbothered as Lio pleads with her to come home so he can make her forget about SpongeBob tongue.

"I'm glad David wasn't with them... but also he doesn't want to know what I have to say about him?" Mack mumbles with a slight pout.

"Aren't you two telepathic?" Savannah jokes. "I think he already knows every thought that floats through your brain before you think it.”

"Of the remaining women in this room, you're the only one to receive a noise complaint in NYC..." Lucie trails off, sipping her wine while side-eying her sister. “I think he knows where he stands on your roster.”

"Mack..." Savannah trails off, shocked.

"We broke some furniture." Mack admits . "And I forget we weren't in Iowa anymore."

Lucie and Savannah are stunned, mouths slightly agape.

"Honestly, good for you." Savannah finally fills the silence.

“Get that dick.” Lucie cheers her sister.

“Yeah speaking of, I’m gonna head out.” Mack downs the rest of her wine, then pops off the couch.

“Yeah me too!” Savannah laughs.

“Livy had the right idea.” Lucie confirms, grabbing her phone to text her husband.

I got to say. I really love your OC Lio within your atla fanfic. And that is saying a lot for I never been a fan of OCs within fanfics. I do wonder what was your inspiration for writing them

I'm glad you like Lio my OC from THIS ATLA FIC.

Well what inspired Lio was reading the search years ago and seeing Azula run off into a forest and Zuko not trying to go after her and help his sister when she's clearly mentally breaking down. Then just, not really looking for her by the time that Smoke and Shadow comes around.

The idea of Lio sprung for that, what if because Zuko didn't go after her someone else found Azula when she was at her lowest point in her life. What if when Zuko wasn't there for her, someone else was. What if this person wasn't a good influence, but was a predator lurking in the woods, and someone who couldn't be trusted and never wore their genuine face. Someone now attached to Azula who has an agenda of their own. It's like a plot consequence for Zuko never lifting a finger to help his sister.

The character they're based on the most is Yun from The Rise / Shadow of Kyoshi. In particular they're based off of my massive disappointment for how his character was handled. So excuse me while this post turns into a rant.

Rise of Kyoshi introduces a character known as Yun, the false avatar. A character who was taken off the streets and led by Kuruk's companions to believe he was the next avatar because they couldn't find Kyoshi in time. The earthbender's usual divining method for finding the avatar wasn't working and they essentially took a random nameless street kid on a hunch and prayed it would work.

They then put Yun through what could only be described as Zoldyck training if you've ever read Hunter x Hunter. He was forced to swallow poisons and stay up sick for nights on end so he'd be immune to all of them. He was forced to try to learn firebending by standing on hot coals, or training on spiked caltrops that permanently scarred his feet. His teachers horribly abused him, then frequently called him lazy for not being able to bend fire, because he you know... wasn't the avatar.

He does his best to put up with abusive training for years because he wants to help the world, and then he finds out that he wasn't the avatar. The way he finds out is that his master asks a spirit which one is the avatar him or Kyoshi, the spirit picks Kyoshi, then he's like "If you don't need Yun anymore, then I'll just eat him."

He's then dragged to the spirit world, and has to fight off a spirit named Father Glow Worm for days and then EAT him in order to escape the spirit world. He asks for a drink of water from a nearby village and not a single person helps him, and one throws the water on the ground and tells him to waterbend it. So Yun has his Geto moment and kills everyone around him.

Then, in Shadow of Kyoshi (this all happened in Rise of Kyoshi and is told to us in flashbacks of Shadow) Yun enacts a scheme to kill every single one of his abusers for revenge. His abusers who I remind you are not good people. Rangi's mom had the most student deaths by Ag Ni Kai when she was head of the Royal Fire Nation Academy for Girls and also probably killed her sister in order to get the position. The same woman that made Yun dance around on caltropped spikes and called him lazy when he showed the SLIGHTEST hesitation.

Now my point isn't that Yun deserved to get his revenge. Revenge bad. Of course revenge is bad. But Avatar somehow, while being the pro-redemption and pro-forgiveness show always manages to screw up the "revenge bad" message. I think it can be summarized in the way both Jet and Hama are treated in their respective plotlines. The feelings of the abusers (in this case the colonizing fire nation) are put in prioirity over the feelings of the victims. Even though the violence they commit is in retaliation to violence that was done of them first. Avatar only stops the question of "violence bad" without addressing where the source of the violence came from.

They also put down both victims with violence instead of trying to find a third way to stop this cycle of violence by reaching out an healing an abuse victim instead. Like, violence is bad, unless a protagonist is using it I guess.

There's no real substance to these anti-revenge messages. They're not overcoming the cycle of revenge. They're just failing to save victims with no plot consequences because they're not main characters.

Anyway, back to Yun. As I said, the feelings of Yun's abusers, particularly Rangi's mother are prioritized over the feelings of Yun the victim. Even though everything thing that Yun does is in retaliation to years of child abuse he suffered under them. Yun's abuser gets the chance to apologize and atone but not Yun himself. All because Yun wants to murder his abusers, which you know child abuse and torture is forgivable but not an abuse victim being angry and showing that anger in ways that aren't approved of by the good guys TM!

All Kyoshi can say to Yun in the end essentially is "let it go." Like, god the whole monologue sucks let me take a moment to transcribe it.

"It's time to let go." Kyoshi lowered her hands. "Whether you kill me here today or not, you have to let go of what happened." "And it didn't brting me peace. It was wrong that you were lied to, Yun. It was wrong for Jainzhu to do what he did, but he's gone. Whatever pain and anger you have left - you have to live with it. You can't put it on anyone else."

Actually, yes Kyoshi he can put it on someone else. An entire group of adults collectively abused him for like years on end and you're defending one of them because she's your girlfriend's mom, and prioritizing her feelings of the hurting victim right in front of you.

Also, Kyoshi ends the plotline by murdering Yun. Which you know, once again, violence is bad, revenge is bad, unless it's a protagonist doing it. Kyoshi preaches how you can't end the cycle of revenge with murder and then proceeds to end it with murder.

So basically after the narrative sides with Yun's abusers and Kyoshi shows no empathy for Yun, the narrative goes on to further imply Yun never really loved kyoshi because he only loved her when she was underneath him not her own powerful avatar. Like you can't just have Yun experience negative character arc due to trauma you've got to imply they were bad all along.

I do like revenge stories where the victim dies. However, they have to be tragedies for the main characters, or be used to show the flaws of the main character. Ciel / Noel in Tsukihime is a fantastic example of what could have been done with Yun's character. The TLDR: version of tha tpost is Ciel's treatment is Noel is MEANT to make her look like a bad person. To show that Ciel may be a hero but falls short as a person. Kyoshi isn't MEANT to look like a terrible friend but that's how she comes off.

Sorry, this turned into a Rant. Lio is basically my attempt to do Yun again with several aspects of their character. The child abuse. The clown / jokester personality. The gentle nature turned violent. The feeling that Lio is "Nameless" or a "Mask Maker" rather than a person. That they're worth nothing unless they play a role that was given to them, in this case protecting a royal family member. Their charisma, and their intelligence as a schemer and a tricskter. The connection to the spirits. All of it, but without horribly murdering the victim and redeeming the abuser at the same time. An attempt to redo Yun's tragedy but without blaming the victim.

Lio is also based off of Azula herself, and to a lesser extent Zuko. Like Azula, they value loyalty above all else. They show extreme loyalty to others while expecting other people to show that exact loyalty in return. They'll also resort to emotional manipulation to control people because they can't handle even the idea of rejection. Lio is clever, and a good liar, and is one of the few people who can mouth off to Azula without fear. In fact, Azula enjoys trading insults with Lio because literally no one else is able to talk to her that way. Like, it's fun for both of them to just sit there and think of comebacks and they both due it in place of actually talking to each toher about feelings because they're both fake people who like to put on masks and tell lies to hide their identity.

One more inspiration for Lio is Hak from Akatsuki no Yona or rather my problems with Haks' character. This is going to be less of a rant because the rest of the series is great. Hak is always a character I wanted to like, but the more he became a love interest the less I liked him because the plot began to ignore his glaring flaws. Basically, the difference between Soo Won and Hak, is Hak is someone who is a knight, he is loyal to one individual. He would put one person's life over the entire country. He might be the ideal knight, the best there is, but he really doesn't care about things on a grand scale. He judges things on how they affect Yona, and how people are kind or not to Yona. He didn't care about if King Il was a terrible king or people in the kingdom suffered because he was personally loyal to King Il. Whereas Soo Won will make decisions to screw over his friends and sacrifice himself as well, but for a greater good.

The plot goes into detail showing the flaws of Soo Won's decision making, that by being too willing to sacrifice people he didn't see things coming like Yona's growth into an eventual leader, or that he could have from the beginning tried to think of a way with less sacrifices if he hadn't underestimated both Hak and Yona's growth and tried to do everything by himself. Essentially he treated his two best friends as gameboard pieces but they showed him all along they were his equals and he was wrong for objectifying them and nto considering their feelings.

However, the show doesn't nearly go into Hak's flaws. After like a hundred chapters or so he basically just becomes the perfect boyfriend. So, Lio's inspiration was what if I take Hak's personality to the extreme. What if Hak was so obsessed with Yona because he was like REALLY WEIRD ABOUT IT. What if Hak's entire personality was being Yona's bodyguard / boyfriend and he had no sense of self outside of that? What if that was exactly his flaw, he's Yona's bodyguard and nothing else and therefore cannot exist without her. What if Hak's love for Yona was a FLAW?

So basically Lio is like Hak if Hak were a TOTAL FREAK about things.

What are your favorite Galolio headcanons?

Oh, this is a tough one, but my fave is probably the idea that when it comes to demonstrations of love and affection, Galo's the one who does it more often/more easily. And I'm not talking about the more basic stuff like flirting or casual touches or kissing

I'm talking about Galo's buying Lio small gifts every other day just because it's something Lio might like, serenading him every other day just cause a song got stuck in his head and it makes Galo think of him, leaving him sweet notes on the fridge when he has to go out, etc

Galo's all sprinkles of affection (when it's not an Important Day™, in which case he's probably gonna go above and beyond) in a way that doesn't come off as easy to Lio, and over time, being on the receiving end really builds

Point is

Lio gives back as good as he gets, but it's usually an explosive all at once kind of situation, and hoh boy does it take Galo off guard every time and makes him swoon and wanna be even more affectionate

If Pyonderful really doesn't end up being a thing in the TV show and we get like Cure Nico instead, the thing that's getting me right now isn't Satoru, it's Daifuku.

Like, sure, if Satoru doesn't get to be a Precure by the end of the season it'd be a horrible waste because he deserves it, but it'd just mean he joins the club with Seiji and Lio and Takumi and all the other supporting cast members who couldn't be a Precure officially probably cause Bandai didn't let them or something

But if Daifuku doesn't get to be human?

We can make comparisons to Cure Mofurun and the fairies from Delicious Party and how they only got human forms in the movies, but...at least they already had the ability to speak in the TV show.

That's what makes Daifuku's situation so unique. He's an entirely new character once he gets to speak. Not only does he have unique things to say, but he also has a lot of personality. Arguably the most personality of any mascot character in this franchise. He's got confidence, he seems to be witty and makes quips, and he has an ikemen voice for comedic effect.

If he really has even half the personality the fanartists on twitter seem to draw him with, he sounds like he'd make any situation in the TV show more entertaining with his presence. It feels like every episode he's not getting to speak is missing out on so many opportunities for fun interactions.

So I really hope the copium is right and he'll get to show up soon.

tl;dr: movie-exclusive precure or precure-adjacent transformations are one thing. daifuku in the wonderful precure movie is a whole-ass character. a character who already technically exists in the TV show. making that exclusive to the movie would be the wildest restriction they've ever done. so i hope he's not.

EMRY you sent this ask to me having no idea of the can of worms you just opened. i'm going to preface a lot before i get to the actual thing so bear with me.

first of all i want to say this is a lot of fun and i'm starting to think i should have a tag for my AU shenanigans because i love collecting these things and codifying them on tumblr. will keep you posted

okay. lets go

1: central concept

the art i linked to shows several screenshots of promare redrawn with ike as galo and soren as lio. this is really really smart for numerous reasons, including:

ike and soren share color coding (blue and green respectively) with their counterparts, as well as sharing similar builds and relatively similar styles/aesthetics

ike and galo both do the thing where racism is brought to their attention and they're like WHAT THAT'S AWFUL like hands down immediately against it despite living in a society that's much less progressive

soren and lio are both racial minorities in a way that gives them powers but also is plot relevant as a racism allegory

soren and lio are both dragon themed (less obvious with lio but it's notable in the scene where he attacks promepolis)

gay

this all goes out to softlytired who i'm sure considered these things when drawing the art. now it's time for me to do my part

2: filling out the side characters

with ike and soren in place the next question is how to fill out the rest of the movie's cast. i want to start by taking my best shot at who would fill each movie role and why.

captain ignis: greil or titania, take your pick. it's the same thing, it just changes based on whether you want this to be a greil lives au.

heris ardebit: oscar. i think he could pull off the evil scientist thing. also, they're both more withdrawn than their boisterous younger sibling, and they're both very protective of said sibling. which brings me to

aina ardebit: boyd. he's mainly here for the sibling thing and the goal of keeping the greil mercs and burning rescue as overlapped as possible. but what about the almost-kiss on the frozen lake, you ask? yeah that still happened. the only difference is neither of them were into it. (that idea is kudos to @tobegii, who also helped me brainstorm a lot of this.)

lucia: mist. mist's role as a healer is hard to translate to promare world, so i figured the next best thing would be letting her play a support role as the gadgeteer. testing new mech suits is a sibling bonding activity!

vinny: rolf. okay before you dismiss this as just me being mean to rolf i'd like to point out that letting him play sidekick means actually keeping the fourteen-year-old (?) out of danger for once while still letting him exist in the narrative. but also haha rat boy

varys and remi: gatrie and shinon. i feel like the fact that i introduced these two as a duo says it all. even though they're not technically a duo, they're the only two who are deployed together in the movie's opening scene that establishes the members of burning rescue. they have a similar brains-and-brawn thing going on. maybe shinon can be less racist in this one or something.

and for the enemies

vulcan: petrine. big scary lackey who doesn't actually have a very deep motivation other than being a horrible person. you could also use ashnard for this but i think petrine deserves some enrichment

kray: this is the difficult one because there is a good case for either sephiran (your traitor is In Charge Of The Fucking Government) or zelgius (your traitor is someone you knew personally and worked with) but for now let's go with sephiran because

biar: zelgius. it's funny okay

oh and prometh? by my calculations there is No Good Option. there just isn't. put altina in there or something. i don't fucking know

3: other notes and adjustments

with all of my "how far can i take this" out of the way i want to make an actual attempt to clean this up a little and tie up loose ends. this is my loose list of "how would i adapt the plot of promare to fit better around the tellius cast"

replace the character of kray with the duo of sephiran (the governor) and zelgius (the enforcer), and have zelgius absorb what little plot relevance biar has. maybe zelgius was the one to save ike from the fire, but it was sephiran's burnish flare that started it. they could also be a sort of two-stage bossfight, with zelgius sort of one-on-oneing them before sephiran breaks out the big guns mech

greil died in the fire that nearly killed ike, putting titania in charge of burning rescue and giving ike and mist extra character motivation

shinon's character is hard to work with if you consider how racist he actually is in canon, but i think you could tone it down a little and use his character to make a point about how racism can be insidious and masked ("if you terrorists stopped burning down houses, no one would have a problem with the burnish!" and things like that.) getting proved wrong about those supposedly moderate beliefs might even give him a chance to grow

we can pretty easily add in ike and soren's childhood encounter as well! when they met as children, ike had no idea soren was a burnish (not that he would have cared). soren has always wanted to find him again but was busy yknow running an organization. he's incredibly hurt and disappointed when ike 1) does not recognize him and 2) works for the government now. but before they pilot the mech together, they finally get to talk it out, ike remembers and apologizes, and it represents a step forward in their relationship that prepares them for the ultimate test of teamwork (mech piloting)

Something I’ve been spinning around in my brain for the past few weeks is the similarities and differences between galo and laios

And maybe that’s just me being silly about characters I like but like

They both share a lot of qualities but one thing I feel like they are opposite ends of the scale on is being able to read people and their reaction to that

Like laios seems to have a very very hard time understanding people’s feelings, especially towards him, and is distraught to find out when people don’t actually like him because they never outright said so. He doesn’t see how his interests would be off putting to other people, which isn’t inherently bad, but the whole situation seems to cause friction between him and other people. But like he obviously cares about people. He has animosity towards humanity for leaving him and his sisiter behind on a structural level, but he cares for his friends even when they hurt him. He deserves a better, more understanding world frankly lol

Galo on the other hand, to me, seems like he can read people better than I think people give him credit for. He could tell when Aina was kinda backhandedly calling him stupid for being brash, and he could tell when lios dragon was crying for gods sake. It’s not that he doesn’t understand what people feel about him, it’s that he has a pretty high level of not caring what people think of him, cus at the end of the day he’s got a job to do and that’s the most important thing to him. There’s still some things he’s oblivious about, but to me most of what people I think view as him being oblivious to is actually him just having a very high opinion of himself.

The only thing I can say he may be entirely oblivious to is Aina having a small crush on him, and I chalk that up to him seeing aina more like a sister and him being gay lol

They get married at the Verstappen estate. Daniel wanted to elope so they didn't have to plan anything but Sophie insisted and called up Grace and they pulled rank. They have a garden party in the sprawling grounds. It's very classy. Isabella, Isaac, Luka and Lio are stinkin’ cute. 

Max and Daniel go off to fuck twice. The first time was handys after their first look (Charles reminded them that they’d have blowjob lips in all their pictures otherwise. Max thought that was a good idea, Jules vetoed). The second time they go to fuck is during the reception after the first dance because Daniel whispered in Max’s ear that he was wearing a special (and pretty) plug.

Daniel changes outfits three times because of course he would. His final late night reception party shirt was actually a tasteful pattern this time but if you looked closely (and only 3 people did) you’d see that the outline design was actually cocks with a ring on them 😊.

Carlos is there as a friend and Charles' date. They finally got together. Pierre is there with a new girlfriend. A different girl from the yacht party who was also a different girl from the engagement party. She's only in one group picture because no one trusts that she'll last longer than a few more weeks.

They live in the penthouse for a bit then they buy a house in the hills with a view of the city and the ocean. Daniel categorically will not move back into the estate and Max has no problems there. They get one more cat– a compromise because Max wanted a dog (since they now have a yard) and Daniel said no and sucked his dick so he'd stop bringing it up. This happens twice before Max actually does stop bringing it up because he doesn’t want to get pavloved into getting hard when thinking about dogs 🫣

They do have a daughter eventually, but like after a good while of just being married and having each other again. They have a lot of time to make up for!

Sewis absolutely has kids. They have three little gremlins! Twin girls and a sweet little boy. The middle daughter is soooo bossy like both her dads. She bosses Blake around and has him wrapped around her finger. She was the only one who didn’t cry when he first met her– she actually went to sleep, and that was during the colic phase so Sewis begged him to come over often since he seemed to be the only one to get her to rest. 

When Jules gets married, Daniel goes all out with the planning. Jules is exasperated as fuck but he lets Daniel have this because he knows his bestie is trying to ‘repay him’. Which they’ve spoken argued about but Daniel needs Jules to know how much he loves and appreciates him forever and ever til the end of time. They ended each wedding planning email with ‘fuck off’ and Jules’ said ‘fuck of please/respectfully/categorically/emphatically’. Daniel cackles each time.

Max and Daniel do not go off to fuck at Jules’ wedding. Not because of respect or anything so silly. But Daniel essentially made himself the wedding planner's assistant so he literally couldn’t step away. Charles laughed at Max’s grumblings. The wedding was gorgeous.

They still go to the cabin as often as possible. Daniel bought more land around it and they built another, bigger cabin so that the entire group plus spouses and all the kiddies can be comfortable. None of Pierre’s girlfriends have been to the cabin.
