Respect to my boy Engels but On Authority seems more like it's focused on winning the argument than it is on actually fully addressing legitimate critiques and issues with 'authority'

#like there are good points he makes about tactics and the naive anti-authoritarian impulse to no rules #but he relies exclusively on a particular definition of authority that he picks #And doesn't answer one way or another the question he poses of whether you can have rules without 'authority'#he creates a straw man of the rabid anti authoritarian #and he doesn't disprove their argument instead relying on appeals to definition and to absurdity
