Had a guy in 6th grade tell me that his Gucci hoodie was worth more than me. And looking back he must have been really bad at math to think that a Gucci hoodie is more expensive than a 12yo, short, pale, blue eyed blonde girl. Like in what universe? I was more expensive in both euros and camels

A Broken Sort of Normal Part 7
WC: 1011 Masterpost
After the concussion, Danny started seeing Flash more. It was nice; it was actually really nice. It made Danny realize how alone he had been— how long he had been keeping to himself. When he could manage to be painfully honest with himself, Danny could admit that he had been isolating. He had turned down offers from coworkers and even a few neighbors to be social. It had just been too hard to fathom getting close to anyone when he was still hurting from the loss of Sam, Tucker, and, worst of all, Jazz.
Flash (the younger mostly, but even sometimes the older) didn’t really give him the chance to turn them down. Danny was sure that if he pushed that the heroes would have backed off, but Danny found that he really didn’t want to push them away. It was nice to have people who stopped to check in with him just to see how he was doing.
Questions from Flash the younger started out as post battle check-ups turned to ‘how was your day’s to whatever inane thing was running through the hero’s mind. And there was a lot that ran through the hero’s mind. (Danny tried not to dwell on the fact that he thought of that personality trait as adorable.)
“Dude, no,” Flash bemoaned, leaning against the van as Danny double checked his list that everyone on his team had fully reported in.
“I said what I said,” Danny insisted, head ducked to try and hide his smile. It was just too much fun (and too easy) to rile Flash up.
“No, I refuse to believe that you actually think Ghoulie Girls Two is better than the original game!” Flash said, gesturing wildly. As he spoke his words sped up until they were hard to follow. “The second game lost all of its soul! It was just fan service! Which, yeah, okay so One was fan service too, but it had heart! It had an actual story! Two’s story made no sense!”
“But it set up Three where the other OG creator was back on the project and Three was amazing,” Danny pointed out, tucking his tablet back in his kit.
“Okay, look.” Flash spread his hands. “I won’t argue that Three was amazing. Redeemed the series— pushed it ahead. Introduced Helena who is both amazing trans rep and just plain amazing. Lilly’s arc made me cry. All amazing. But Danny, my dude, you cannot say that because it set up Three that Two is better than One!”
Danny looked up at Flash, blinking innocently. “Well… maybe a little of it is just that I played Two first so it got me into the series… and, well, how much it offended you.”
“I— you troll!”
Laughing, Danny walked away to finish packing up with his coworkers. Being one of the early teams on the site was always hard, but it was rewarding work and Danny found he preferred it over the clean up jobs. They were lucky that there was no need for search and rescue that day; Danny would have felt compelled to stick around. As it was, Danny put out a call on his radio for his team to load up so they could head back. They would have a quick debrief, fill out their reports, restock their kits, and finally be able to head home.
Flash caught Danny before he could pile into the front seat of the van with a gentle hand on his elbow. When Danny turned to him, Flash backed off almost nervously.
“So, um, right. I had an idea? And I was wondering if I could pick you up at your place later tonight for it?” Flash asked in a blur of words.
It took Danny a moment to parse it all. “I— sure? Yeah, okay. I’m going to be a few hours though.”
“Really?” Flash asked, grinning widely. “Yeah! No prob! I’ll grab you at eight— no, nine. Bring a jacket! Bye!”
Danny was left blinking at the spot that Flash used to be, bemused by whatever had just happened.
-
Flash knocked precisely at nine. It was, in fact, so precisely at nine that Danny had to wonder if Flash had just been standing awkwardly outside the apartment for a few minutes waiting to knock or if the accurate timing was just part of the speed force.
“Hi, Danny,” Flash chirped with a nervous little smile. He was back in the separate mask, though he seemed to be wearing something not that different from his tight super suit under the large Cyborg themed hoodie. He had his Flash themed backpack again and it looked almost over filled.
“Hey, Flash,” Danny said, hoping his smile would calm whatever nerves Flash was having. “Do I get to know the plan?”
“Nope! I mean, not if you trust me? But like, if it’s bothering you to not know the plan I can totally tell you the plan so that you don’t worry, I just thought that maybe it would be a nice surprise, but maybe you don’t like surprises—”
“Flash,” Danny said, cutting off the rambling. “I’m okay not knowing.”
“Okay, okay cool,” Flash said after he took an obvious breath. “Um. Arms or piggyback ride?”
Danny glanced up from putting his shoes on. “Hum?”
“To be carried. I need to run us somewhere.”
“Oh, uh, back I guess?” Maybe it would make him feel less unsteady than being picked up.
“Okay!” Flash said. He bounced eagerly on his toes as he waited for Danny to put on his jacket and lock up. When Danny finally turned to him, Flash handed over his backpack, spun around, and crouched down. “So make sure to hold on tight! Arms and legs both.”
“Sure,” Danny said. He had no intention to even risk being dropped.
He felt a little awkward climbing onto Flash’s back, but the hero seemed perfectly comfortable with it all. Flash gave a little bounce after he was standing, as if to make sure Danny was secure, and then they were off in a blur of light and color.

AN: Aaaaah these two are just so fun to write! They're just so cute. I also always enjoy writing people just being nerds~
(I'm still not very well, so I've been using this fic as my warm-up then poking at LBFD as my brain allows.)

YANDERE RE6 LEON IS LIKE
in my opinion hes someone that would shield you from anyone, he can be possessive asf idk what else lol
It could be Leon! vendetta, so we kill two birds with one stone.
Tumblr media
∆ He is a huge possessive in relation to you. If a man is standing next and has a nice conversation with you, then this is a red flag for him.
∆ If you're younger than him and keep your naivete, then Leon will find it charming. But your problem is that he decided that you need to be protected.
∆ It follows that Leon is protecting Yandere. He hates being away from you
∆ However, from the first time you will not see the oddities in Leon's behavior. It will seem to you that he is just a handsome man who is interested in you, but Leon already has all the information about you, down to your blood type.
∆ At home, he has a whole folder with your personal information. He needs to control everything you do and who you talk to. Therefore, he will quietly steal your phone and track all your social networks and calls. Of course, he will return your mobile to you, but you will not know anything about the fact that all your calls and messages will be viewed by Leon.
∆ "Leon is just a nice guy" you think when he brings you something that you've been texting with your bestie about. It could be chocolate, ice cream, or an invitation to dinner at a trendy new but very expensive restaurant. It doesn’t even occur to you how it turns out that he guesses everything you want.
∆ It's funny right? Your phone and Leon's phone always notify you of a new message alert at the same time.
∆ The only difference is that Leon also receives your messages on his phone. But he only did it for your safety.
∆ He doesn't want you to be afraid of him, so no, you won't suspect anything about his true attitude towards you. Leon is good at hiding emotions if he needs it.
∆ Once your relationship starts to develop, you will notice that Leon always has his hand on your waist or your wrist. And the grip is quite strong. Leon doesn't like it when you move more than a couple of steps away from him.
∆ He needs you to live with him, so that you can be in his line of sight around the clock. He still checks your social networks and correspondence through his phone.
∆ You don't have to work, sweetheart. He will try to talk you out of your job (especially if you are a waitress or some other service industry). It just irritates him unbearably that you can be kind to someone other than him, but he will not make a scandal to you. If you do not quit yourself, Leon will make sure that you are fired or you could not stand it and left this job yourself.
∆ He doesn't care what you buy, he'll pay you whatever you want, especially if you're such a good girl for him. The main thing is to thank him with kisses or hugs.
∆ He actually likes it when you smell like his cologne. For him, it's like a symbol that you belong only to him.
∆ Leon sits you on his lap when he works at home with paperwork. He doesn’t like it when you try to go somewhere on your own business, so he can lightly slap you on the ass, seat you back, pressing him to him and tell you in a warning tone to behave well.
∆ No night walks with friends, clubs. In fact, Leon will try to make sure that he becomes your only company, and no, he has no idea why your friends are such bastards, but you should not worry about it.
∆ The longer you are in a relationship, the stronger his control. Perhaps you can take off your rose-colored glasses and look at the situation from a different angle when you see that Leon has completely taken control of your life.
∆ Your phone has been tracked by him for a long time. Leon always knows where you're going.
∆ You are financially dependent on him and you have nowhere to go even if you understand that your relationship is far from normal.
∆ Leon will immediately notice your nervousness. He will try to carefully ask you about what makes you nervous and if you dare to ask him about your suspicions, he will simply grin and call you his silly girl. "Don't make me a villain, my dear, I'm the only one who can take care of you to the fullest. The world is generally full of shit"
∆ At home, you can do whatever you want. When you are both at home, Leon's vigilance weakens a little, although you can't help noticing how he periodically checks to see if everything is all right with you. It can be a silent heavy look or a light touch to your body.
∆ Perhaps Leon's behavior is related to his work, but even if you tell him that you don't like this attitude and you would like more freedom, then… "oh, sweetheart, am I holding you hostage? Am I treating you badly? Beating you up?" Leon knows how, but he doesn't like manipulating you. However, if he needs to use gaslighting to get you to stay with him, he will do it.
∆ He will never go as far as kidnapping or physical abuse, but psychologically... Leon will hit all the spots so that you are completely dependent on him. You will just think that without him your whole world will collapse.
∆ However, he still loves you. His love is strange and Leon has chosen the most sophisticated way to have you with him, but because of everything he's been through, he just doesn't know how else to keep you close to him.
∆ He really does not mind the money on you, if you want to go somewhere, he will take you, but the constant control will drive you crazy. If it undermines your psyche and you try to commit suicide, then he will never leave you again. You may even hate him, but in the eyes of others, Leon will be a good guy who continues to love his mentally unstable girlfriend no matter what.
∆ “You can’t leave her alone, you understand? Please watch her very carefully, she must take all her medicines strictly on time. This is important!” - this is what Leon will say to your nurse hired especially for you. The DSO must have contributed to this somehow, after all, Leon has an impeccable reputation as an agent.
∆ What can you say to others? He didn't really kidnap you or rape you. Leon just cares about you and the sooner you realize that, the better it will be for you.
∆ He still watches stupid shows with you that somehow entertain you; sits you on his lap and just asks how you feel. He loves you and if he has to limit you in some way, then this is only for your own good, understand.
∆ In the end you will understand that he wishes you only the very best. You just need time.

So could I make a request for the matchup? Here's the info I wrote down;
-for fandom: haikyuu
-My name is Lorena (also not a native english speaker!), she/her, demisexual (no real preference of gender, i just like people but also quite a low/slow tolerancy for developing romantic feelings) no preference
-likes: being at home/alone, cooking and baking and drawing, scary uncomfortable movies
-dislikes: uggs, loud people
-in my free time i like to just listen to music and think about things or have a good cleaning session
-definitely on the grunge/alternative side, also alternating between masculine and feminine
-short and quite a small frame (at 156cm and 47kg but im trying to gain weight i swear), short dark brown shaggy hair which i dye dark red, brown eyes that do not work (i wear contacts)
-quiet and introverted, if i had to compare to a haikyuu character, in a kiyoko type of way. I find it easier to socialise with other introverts as well. Usually I keep my thoughts to myself unless im around close friends, I legit get silly with them, I like to be direct and honest and more of a listener. Mom friend of the group so I tend to be stern with my friends, lowkey a party pooper as im a hater at heart. That friend that does not like your boyfriend
-i dabble between infp/intp, who knows atp
-my dream present would be smth like a trinket that reminds them of me
-my love language would be quality time and acts of service
- taurus rahh 💪🫶
- a good deal are a bunch of mitski songs (abbey, thursday girl, cop car), red swan, francesca
Thanks so much, you're a peach!
— matchup —
if you'd want a matchup too, make sure to check out this! link
Tumblr media
i match you with...
Iwaizumi Hajime!
Tumblr media
★ i have a feeling Iwa would love alt aesthetics, personally i think he'd like alt music too-
★ being an amazing man he is, he'd definitely take things slow, he doesn't want to rush anything, his priority is to make you feel safe and comfortable around him
★ scary and uncomfortable movies you say? oh, when i tell you he's in love. he has a whole list of this kind of movies in his notes app, marking the ones you've already seen together. you also rate every movie you've watched, creating a whole tier list out of them lol
★ knowing that you find it hard to socialize, he wouldn't pressure you into doing so. however, if you two meet a whole bunch of his friends when hanging out, he'd check every minute if you feel comfortable enough around them. if you want to say something, he only listens to you and makes sure that others don't interrupt you when you talk
★ he loves to see you being mom of the friend group! it shows him how caring you can be towards the ones important to you, and that just makes him fall in love even more
★ he is soo acts of service guy, you can't change my mind about this i'm afraid. you hate to do this one particular house chore? call him. he'll do that. just like that
★ Iwa knows you don't like loud people, so whenever Oikawa acts a bit too annoying, he just has one more reason to scold him<3

hello, hope you liked it:) your second match was kenma! thanks for requesting<3

Of Unexpected Surprises and Sleepless Nights
Sequel to "Of Second Chances and Small Joys", "Of Wedding Dances and Gravity", “Of Wildfires and Dandelions”, “Of Hopeless Hearts and Falling Stars”, "Of Open Houses and Forever Homes" ,"Of Tragedies and Promises" and "Of Vows and Happily Ever After".
Full series can be found on AO3, "Stop the World on This Moment"
It takes a good three years of being married before he and Tommy are ready to become parents, and in that time they explore every option out there before finally settling on adoption as the chosen method for creating their family. They go through extensive screenings for months and get added to a list, and then—nothing.
With every month that passes with no news Buck can see the hope in Tommy fading a little bit more—sometimes he wakes up alone at night and finds Tommy out on the back porch swing, staring into the darkness with a hopeless look in his eyes that Buck hates.
Sighing heavily, he rubs at his tired eyes and rolls out of his bunk, shuffling quietly out of the room so the others can rest in this down time during their shift. As he’s crossing the firehouse to head up and make some coffee, he hears something outside the large roll doors and pauses, brow furrowing as he tries to figure out what it was. It’s quiet now and he sighs, shaking his head—it was probably just a car driving past.
As he turns towards the stairs, he hears it again, louder this time, and turns toward the sound, feet carrying him outside where he’s struck motionless for a moment at the sight of a box with a tiny baby swaddled in it. The baby cries out softly and he’s in motion, grabbing the baby and carrying it inside while calling out to Chim and Hen as he heads for the nearest ambulance.
It only takes another loud call of their names before Chim and Hen are stumbling out of the dorms cursing him until they see the baby and then they’re flying across the room and encouraging him into the rig so they can look the baby over.
“She’s so little,” Buck breathes, reaching a hand out and inhaling sharply when she wraps a tiny fist around one of his fingers.
“She looks good, a little jaundiced and small, so she’s probably a preemie, but her heart and lungs sound good,” Hen murmurs as she sits up, pulling the stethoscope ends out of her ears. “Given how clean and warm she is, I’d say she was born no more than a day or two ago and whoever had her decided to relinquish her here.”
“What do we do with her now?” Buck asks as Hen wipes her down with a sterile wipe and then wraps her in a clean blanket, cocooning her little body oh so gently before she hands her off to Buck who takes her and holds her close to his chest.
“Now we take her to the hospital for a more thorough check up and let the police and social services take it from here,” Hen tells him softly, and he knows that, he does, but there’s a large part of him that wants to just snatch her up and take her home.
Instead he nods and holds the little girl close to his chest as they emerge from the rig, heading upstairs for coffee while Hen calls social services, heart in his throat at the idea of giving her up. When she fusses a little, Buck sets aside his coffee and leans back, bringing her up so her cheek is pressed to his bare shoulder, remembering something about skin to skin contact being good for babies. He worries about the lights being too bright for her to sleep, but to his surprise, she just snuffles a few times and rubs her face against his shoulder before sighing and falling asleep faster than Buck would have thought possible.
He stays quiet and still as she sleeps, closing his own eyes and letting his head drop back against the cushioned top of the chair he’d slumped into, exhaustion sinking into him, nudged along by the gentle weight and warmth of the baby’s body against his. He’s not sure when he falls asleep, but Hen rouses him gently sometime later, a woman in a pant suit behind her that must be from social services and just like that, his heart sinks in his chest.
Hen smiles sadly at him, “Julia is from social services and is here to take the baby to the hospital,” she tells him quietly, hand gentle where it’s wrapped around his wrist, thumb stroking over his pulse comfortingly and he swallows hard but nods.
They make the transition from Buck to the car seat without incident, but then as he steps back the baby rouses and starts whimpering, her soft cries slowly escalating to full throated wails that rip Buck’s heart out of his chest. He tries to step forward, but Hen grabs his wrist and holds him in place, eyes dark and sorrowful as they watch Julia’s car back out of the firehouse and turn down the street.
His arms feel suddenly very empty and his throat goes tight with emotion, hardly able to breathe as he pulls away from Hen and heads outside for some fresh air in the desperate hope that it’ll help.
When it doesn’t, he calls Tommy and tells him what happened, voice shaking as he closes his eyes and leans back against the brick wall of the firehouse.
“What do you want to do here Ev?” Tommy asks after he’s finished, voice soft and worried.
“I want to go find her and bring her home,” he replies immediately, “I want to keep her safe with us.”
There’s a long, long silence and then Tommy sighs softly, “Then I guess I better meet you at the hospital, huh?” and Buck’s eyes burn with unshed tears.
“Yea,” he agrees, voice broken and wet.
“Let’s go get our girl then sweetheart,” Tommy says, and this time it’s his voice that sounds strained with emotion.
Nodding effusively, Buck laughs wetly, “Yea, let’s go,” he agrees.
Getting set up as a foster parent takes almost twice as much paperwork as adoption does, but because they’re both city employees there’s some greasing of wheels so that he and Tommy can take the baby home the next morning after they’ve gone and bought what Buck thinks is probably the contents of the whole Target baby section. They get the baby settled into a nest of pillows on the bed while they set up the changing table, crib and about a thousand other things, both of them flustered and snippy with each other.
They take turns feeding and burping her, both of them winding up shirtless after she spits up on them, and by the time they’ve eaten cold pizza from the fridge, they’re both so exhausted they can barely stay awake, even though it’s barely 6:30pm. Buck comes out of his shower to find Tommy on their bed in just his briefs, the baby fast asleep on his chest, skin to skin, and he can’t help the way his breath catches in his chest at the sight of them.
After taking a dozen photos and texting them to their friends, he carefully shifts the baby off Tommy and wraps her like the nurses had shown them and then gently rests her in her crib. He stares down at her for a long time, heart in his throat and hopes against all odds that they get to keep her.
-----------------------------
Tommy paces the floor with Tara, worry etched on his face as she continues to scream and Buck frantically tries Maddie’s phone number again. Tara has been crying all day and refusing food, her temperature rising steadily and Buck doesn’t want to be those parents who come to the ER over nothing, but their little girl is sick and he doesn’t think they can wait any longer for Maddie to finally answer her phone.
When the call goes to voicemail again he shakes his head and ends the call, looking over to Tommy, “We need to go,” he says urgently and Tommy nods in agreement, big hand cupping Tara’s back gently. “Get her in the car seat and I’ll grab her stuff and meet you out there,” he says before hurrying back to their room to pack as much in the diaper bag as he can, not sure what they’ll need, but sure that at least some of it will come in handy.
It's a tense ride to the ER with Tara screaming, Tommy’s knuckles white they’re clenched so hard around the wheel. Buck grabs his thigh and squeezes gently, sharing a worried smile with his husband as they drive through the night towards the bright lights of the ER. When they come to a halt Tommy nods, “Go, take her in and I’ll come find you,” he promises, voice rough and eyes shining with emotion.
Buck can’t help the soft hurt sound he makes as he leans in for a brief, hard kiss before he hurries out of the truck and gathers Tara into his arms, diaper bag slung over one shoulder. Nurses rush to meet him and they’re quickly taken back to a room where Buck is forced to let go of Tara and watch as she’s poked and prodded, answering the questions lobbed at him as best he can, hands shaking where they’re hanging by his sides.
He jolts when Tommy appears, reaching for him desperately, both of their grips bruising as they cling to each other’s hands, watching as the medical staff examine their daughter.
Eventually the doctor looks up at them with a grave expression in his eyes and Buck exhales shakily, knees feeling like water, but Tommy just loops an arm around his waist and remains rock steady at his side. “It sounds like your daughter has an abdominal obstruction, we’re going to run a few tests, but given her premature birth, it’s likely that she’ll need surgery.”
Beside him, Tommy staggers, and Buck hurries to brace his weight as the doctor gives them an apologetic look and continues. “Her odds are very good, so I want you to keep having hope, and let our team take it from here,” he says gently, “one of the nurses is going to show you to the NICU waiting area where you can sit and catch your breath.” He smiles encouragingly at them, “Have hope gentlemen, and we’ll do everything we can to bring her back to you safely.”
Buck nods, heart in his throat and tears in his eyes, still holding Tommy up as the doctor steps aside so the nurse can wheel Tara out of the room—only to be stopped when Tommy lunges forward and curls over the tiny bed, tears on his cheeks as he presses a gentle kiss to Tara’s forehead. Clutching Tommy’s hand tight, Buck steps forward so he too can brush a kiss against her hot skin, ribs aching with fear when they take her away and leave, he and Tommy watching as they go through a set of doors they can’t follow their daughter through.
In another breath Tommy is crumpling against him, tucking his face into Buck’s shoulder and he can’t do anything but wrap his arms around his husband and break down with him.
When they finally make it out to the waiting area the 118 is already there, all of them just as scared and worried looking as Buck and Tommy and it makes his heart clench to be so surrounded by love.
It takes hours upon hours and multiple updates from the doctors before they finally receive the news they’ve been waiting for—Tara has come through surgery just fine and is in the NICU resting. They aren’t allowed to see her yet, but it won’t be long, a nurse assures them. In the meantime, they manage to eat some of the food that their friends and family have brought, both of them ragged with exhaustion but refusing to sleep until they’ve seen Tara.
When they finally do, Tommy cracks and turns away with a broken sob, the sound of it ripping Buck’s heart out of his chest as he wraps himself around his husband and holds onto him, tears falling silently as Tommy clings to him desperately.
“She-she’s so little,” Tommy whispers brokenly and Buck nods, “But she’s gonna be okay,” he replies softly, “she’s got us.” Tommy pulls away a little to wipe at his face and then kisses Buck hard, nodding, “Yea, she’s got us,” he agrees in a raw voice.
They’re only allowed to stay for a little while, but it’s probably for the best because as soon as they get home and their heads hit the pillows, they’re out like lights for almost ten hours. Buck wakes up first and lays there quietly studying the lines that grief and fear have etched into his husband’s face, fingers gentle as they trace over Tommy’s brow.
He thought he’d known what fear and hopelessness felt like when he’d lost Christopher in the tsunami, but this was so much worse, and he doesn’t know how they’re supposed to survive a lifetime of worry.
Together, he guesses.
-----------------------------------
Eventually they bring Tara home, both of them scared for a long time afterwards—they become familiar faces to the ER staff, but Buck doesn’t give a shit that they’re probably too reactionary—that’s his daughter and he’s going to do whatever it takes to protect her.
-----------------------------------
Nearly a year to the day later, they sign the finalized adoption paperwork, and Tara officially becomes their daughter.
------------------------------------
Tommy adjusts his headset as he goes through his pre-flight check, smiling over at his new partner when he climbs into the seat next to him and puts his own headset on. They’re just doing a short training run, Tommy in lead so the new kid can learn the ropes outside of an emergency situation.
As he finishes his check, he reaches out and brushes his thumb over the picture resting against the cockpit, a smile creeping onto his face as he traces the familiar lines of his husband and daughter. The photo is faded from how many times he’s done this—he’ll need a new one eventually, especially now that Tara is starting school, but for now, this’ll do.
“Ready to go sir?”
Tommy traces over Buck’s face one last time and then shoots the kid a grin, “Let’s rock.”

doctor levi x reader. breaking pt 1
(he's out of character till next chapter i was trying to get a feel of this modern doctor levi au so like yah no romance yet)
You walked into the room with Levi giggling at his bashfulness “Dr. Levi you know i love visiting you We're like best friends'' You smiled before handing Levi his peach tea “Thank you” Levi smiled up at you “Do you think it'll taste good?” Levi asked, sitting on the counter in the check up room (whatever they have for you to sit in a room and talk to them). Levi had you get him a drink since he's been working more to support him and his wife while she took a break from her job…’yea…break my ass’ you thought your expression changed only for a second. Levi and you have been friends for a while and you were at his wedding even though your body shook seeing the paths with you both breaking apart to just one. Friends. His wife…a whole different story Levi was a sweetheart and was..is absolutely head over heels she was social and kind with you and the others but she started changing getting colder when it came to Levi but it wasn't your business. He actually confided in you a few times about their sex life. Levi’s always been a virgin he was raised to save it for his wife in the future and every party you two went to when girls tried to rub themselves upon him he pushed them off and used you as a crutch saying how you two were a “couple” which is a lie. Fully a lie you've never laid a finger on Levi…well in places you shouldn’t have. So you were ready to hear all about his first time with his wife when he came home from his honeymoon and…nope nothing happened he said
“She said she just wanted to enjoy the sights first.” So they did and Levi waited for her to initiate it…she did not. You remember rolling your eyes and teasing him and he was seriously upset. Not in a bad toxic man way but just hurt like he was scared she didn’t really love him. ‘But fuck it it’s been a year so they’re probably fine and going at it everyday’ you thought to yourself before replying back to Levi “maybe it will. But you did get the recipe off of Pinterest so you might ducking-die or something” you laughed as you stood over him watching him taste it his eyes shined and he licked his top lip “it’s actually good” he said. “So…ready to go home?” You asked, putting your hand in your pockets. For about three days you’ve been driving Levi, his wife was busy and his car was getting repaired and smogged. He grabbed some papers and nodded as he walked into the eerie empty halls of the hospital to the front desk of the floor giving them the papers. You smiled at him as he was gentle with everyone of his peers so gentle he continued their conversations knowing he was deadbeat tired…shit…so were you. You’ll be the bad guy tonight.
“Yes and dr. I told her she needs to take responsibility for her actions or else she’ll get into something she can’t back out fro-“ you pushed Levi gently with a sense of urgency “sorry ma’am it’s late and I hate to pull him away but I am also in a hurry” you smiled so wide your eyes looked shut the lady nodded and understood completely. Levi glared at you which made you suck in a breath his eyes were striking like always as he turned back to the woman. “Even though she’s absolutely out of line and RUDE. Yes we are both tired and without her I have no ride. I will continue with you tomorrow evening ma’am.” Levi smiled and walked on through the door to the elevator. Your job was in the hospital, you weren’t a nurse or something special like a medic or emergency services. You did the cleaning, bedsheets, bathrooms, morgue area. And you used to try and take Levi with you but he’d always freak out and call you a freak cause you didn’t mind standing around in there. Of course not it’s your job and the dude is cool too, Eren was his name and Levi thought he was cool when he first met him till he learned where his position was. Levi thinks you have to be crazy to wanna be around the dead. But almost near the entrance you felt around your pockets and cursed yourself “Levi…shit. I forgot my fucking keys.” Levi turned and looked at you “oh that’s okay let’s go get them. Where are they?” Your eyes looked to the side eyeing the doors and in the windows you could see the black doors behind them down the hall Levi followed your gaze. “Ohhh no. No no no no nononono.” You huffed “Levi it’s just a bunch of bags you don’t even see them out of the bags it’s super quick bet you Eren has seen to them already.” Levi shivered he didn't already like walking the halls of the hospital alone cause it was cold nothing wrong with it just…lonely. He sighed and walked next to you keeping close as you headed closer to what he felt like was his doom.
“Yooohooo! Eren! It’s me y/n I think I left my Keys here. Yea I know how stupid of me” you smiled and Levi’s arm clung to you but you didn’t mind you know how much of a clean freak he was “y/n? Are you wearing your mask?” Eren said walking towards you his jaw slightly hairy and his hair tied back messily his eyes were tired and dim. “Jesus they don’t let you sleep man?” You teased “a lot of work.” He said plainly leaving you just staring at him dumbfounded. You just chuckled “forever a smooth talker. So I kinda left something here fr-“.
Jingle
Eren dangled your keys from his index finger and looked at you before dropping it in your hand “I’ve told you to stop leaving things here” you shrugged “this is the first time!” Levi looked at you both wondering what the fuck you both were talking about “No last time you left your broom. First time it was your phone. Then it progressed to your wallet now your keys. How about I send all your belongings with the corpses?” He glared at you. “So cruel!” You and eren chit chatted before you felt a pull on your sleeve “y/n…let’s go.” Eren looked down at Levi and waved “Dr. Levi! Hi. Never see you around much…how’s life up there with the living?” Eren joked before Levi replied with a quiet “good.” Eren frowned “you don’t like it here?” He asked “…me neither.” Levi looked at eren who was staring at him coldly. You sighed before it could progress pulling Levi with you out the door “Bye Yeager bomb!” You waved and headed outside Roy the cold night wind and the smell of the overcast from the beach since the hospital was so near the beach it was the only upside. Levi sighed “why’d he look at me so…coldly?” You put your hands on your hips and looked down “He doesn’t wanna be there..work there. Years he went to university to be a pro in surgery. But fuck it we all don’t get what we want!” You shrugged pressing the button on your car keys opening the door for Levi “Really? Why hasn’t he brought it up To Erwin?” Levi looked at you as he sat in the car seat. You leaned on the door and looked at him your head on your arms “Guess he sees no point…Eren…he avoids confrontation so I guess the gentle giant intimidated him” you huff looking off into the city streets and cars thinking of Erwin and that time he brought cookies for everyone. “Yea…intimidating.” You closed Levi’s door gently and got in yourself pressing the engine button “heat or ac? It’s cold outside but I mean-“ Levi rolled down his window already answering you as he laid his head against the window frame. You smiled admiring him before you turned back to the windshield. “Alright… groceries than home.” You smiled hearing Levi hummed in agreement
Levi fumbled with the key in his front door “what the fuck? These keys always jam.” You looked at the door then at Levi “Guess I’ll have to call someone to-“ your body pushed Levi against the door “w-what are you-“ you pulled the door towards you both closing it completely then using the key and it opened. “Cant push the door that’s why” you opened the door and from the loss of support on one side Levi stumbled in catching himself and glared at you as you walked in taking off your shoes “Can I use your restroom Levi?” You asked looking around the home the place was dark until Levi turned on the light dimming them. “Go on.” He said as he opened the fridge “you know where it is. Try not to wake up my wife. I think she may be asleep. "You scoffed “Yes sire! I shall keep silent so as to not wake up her majesty!!” He shushed you, scolding you with his brow. You sighed and stood in front of the door of the bathroom ready to leave till you heard voices whispering..too feminine to be Levi and-…too light? To be Levi. His wife and…not him. You left the bathroom and straight to the guest room in front of you seeing the two together as the woman struggled to put her clothes on they both looked at you Silence and the first thing you could think to say
“HOLY SHIT”

Hi :D can I request a Jujutsu Kaisen matchup? I'm a straight girl with an ISFJ personality. I wear glasses and have a Long curly mohawk haircut. I'm studying animation so I'm interested in any type of art and my dream is to become a writer. I love videogames, anime and superhero movies. I tend to have a resting b!tch face most of the time because I always stress a lot over my studies buy whenever someone talks to me I tend to smile a lot. I tend to be a perfectionist on everything I need to do and can be a loner whenever I need to get stuff done but that doesn't mean I dislike people, it's just hard for me to truly trust and like someone. Thanks! (I wasn't sure of what else to write so if you want more information for the request, feel free to message me! :3)
crawls back into this acc with a jjk fixation...
Let's ignore that answering these matchups have taken over a year. Anyways here u go I hope it's to ur liking!!!!
I match you with....
Tumblr media
Nanami Kento
He gets along well with your drive and passion for the arts, even if he necessarily doesn't have the same type of eye for it like you do. When you two started to get to know each other for the first time and he learned of your enjoyment for it, he started to show you pictures of paintings he enjoys.
"This is one of my favorite pieces. Perhaps I can take you to the museum where it's held, hm? I hear there's a new exhibit opening up."
Even if you're not the type to enjoy walking around and staring at art pieces. Which he'd respect OBVIOUSLY. It's just his way of trying to be involved in your hobbies!
But he also knows art can be deeply personal or just something you don't want to share often. So he won't push to see your creations, he definitely urges you to chase those dreams of yours though.
He'd also respect the way you work. If you take on a big project and shut him out entirely during it's duration, he would understand. Just be reasonably worried.
Calls you "my love" a lot and puts the affection on heavy when he checks on you 😭 even if he's just texting. Probably super formal even through messages HAKDHSJD
"My love. Please ensure you've eaten something today. I'll be off work at 8pm, if you feel up to it I can drop by and prepare a late dinner?"
So serious about his love for you.
After a long day of work he might not be into the sound of a movie, but he'd happily collapse into your arms and play with your hair as you engross yourself in whatever you want to watch <3 it's just background noise for him
Stressed from studies or work? He'll massage your shoulders until he feels you sorts go limp from relaxation
"How about I run you a bath?"
Act of service KING
Need help reshaving your mohawk? or just need a trim?
"Well.. I am no stylist, but I can help."
[proceeds to spend like an hour shaving one side of your head because he is also a perfectionist and "won't let you walk around with an uneven haircut" if he's the one doing it]
He's insistent on date nights though. Just to make sure you're not starving yourself from the sun or anything like that. And so he can spend time with you
If you're not feeling social, that's okay. No crazy huge restaurants needed, he'll take you to a park and have a picnic or a nice walk and return home for a dinner he lovingly put together with your help :)
I think him falling for you took time. Not a crazy amount of time, but it took longer to realize it y'know? It hit him though once you started to trust him.
I can see it happening when you're spending an evening together. He's off work and you're taking a break from whatever you had on your plate, laughing about some comment he made. And his heart squeezes a little in his chest when you thank him for spending time with you.
He'd adore you.
I hope u like this omg I'm so so so sorry for it being late ;w; sorry for any typos!

What an iffy day...
1. After Sunday service as I was making my way back home I saw a lost dog roaming around the intersection.
I quickly turned on my emergency light to slow down the traffic.
I had to quickly make a stop on the side and call "Animal Control"
I get that "Animal Control" needs a day off BUT how come they don't offer any emergency dispatch for these types of incidents?!
Apparently, they were closed and my call got directed to the local police department. I really thought they were going to dispatch someone but she said there's no one available for "DISPATCH atm but will send someone"
Uhhhh....I'm like "what? but...there's a lost dog literally roaming around the road right now...I don't want him to get hit by a car!"
She was silent and I just had to say "alright...well...I really hope that the dog gets rescued asap" and then hung up...
I thought maybe I should take him home and keep him at my yard safely and have Animal Control pick him up but unfortunately, he was roaming around the road and off the curb and there was no way for me to safely capture him. It felt like he would run away more if I had approached him and possibly might've made things worse anyway.
Also, it was a large breed. I think a German Shepard without a collar. I wasn't sure if he was properly trained or not. I have a dog myself at home so given these circumstance and condition I really didn't have any choice but to pray that someone would rescue him asap.
I seriously do not understand the point of "Animal Control" if they can't offer any emergency dispatch 🙄
2. I am not close to this person but we've known each other since 2014. She was very popular and outgoing and seemed to only mingled with the ones she liked. I remember people around me didn’t really like her due to her sly & arrogant personality. I’m sure girls were jealous of her. Interestingly, one day she initiated "friend request" on Twitter and my other social media. We had small talks.
She seemed like a nice person. Although our relationship never grew stronger we would just react/check each other's update on social media and that was about it.
I recently found out that she’s paralyzed and has been hospitalized since the beginning of this year. To be very honest, I thought she had everything. Charm, beauty, tall, skinny, outstanding academic, reliable job, marriage, wealth, kids, etc. I was envious of her good going life but this world truly doesn’t provide permanence, guarantee, nor promises. Once again it is a reminder that we shouldn’t be negative, bitter, and resentful towards others. We do not know what our future holds. Let’s try to be more loving and forgiving of others. Let’s try to be more aware of our surroundings. Rather than being jealous how about we congratulate them? Support them? Lol I think I’m all over the place right now but my point is, nothing lasts forever so let’s be kind to each other and not to forget to be kind to ourselves :)
Anyway,
I truly pray for her health and recovery..❤️‍🩹

Chicago Fire Season 6 Ep. 8 "The Whole Point of Being Roommates"
Tumblr media
Dawson has to make a tough decision after saving a girl. Her father is addicted to painkillers. Herrmann gets into a fight with a police officer after responding to a call. Otis and Cruz want to know who Brett is dating. Boden is skeptical when Julian comes to town.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
Gabby stops by to see Bria. She offers to play cards. At the firehouse, Lt. Kelly Severide is fixing the legs of the table. Stella Kidd suggests he could have just jammed paper under the legs. He scoffs, saying he won't take advice from a woman who duct tapes her mirror to a wall.
Gabby arrives and tells Severide about her visit with Bria. There were no drugs in her system, and she seems unreliable. Sylvie Brett walks into the dining area. Joe Cruz and Brian Otis tell her she missed doing the grocery run and they are almost out of toilet paper.
When she doesn't argue about which brand they want, Otis wants to know who he is. She says it's no one's business and they shouldn't talk about it. McHolland raises his hand and makes a guess, but quickly puts it down. Otis says it's cute she doesn't want to say, but everyone knows she can't keep a secret.
Brett tells Gabby it's Antonio, but doesn't want to make it official. They get a call about a vehicle-pedestrian accident. Captain Matt Casey discovers a CPD officer has been hit by a car and impaled by a fence. CPD Officer Harris is freaking out, saying it was a routine call and the truck came out of nowhere. Herrmann says they need to pack the wound. They cover his face as they cut off the fence, but it's slow, which upsets Harris. Matt tells him to walk and let the paramedics work.
Julian Robbins (Michael Cognata) surprises everyone. His sister, Donna (Melissa Ponzio), says he can stay with her and her husband, Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), while he is in town. Donna can't take the day off, and Julian wants to see Wallace in action. He gives him a tour of Firehouse 51.
Sylvie thinks Gabby is worried about sleeping with Antonio again. She promises she can handle herself. Gabby sees Bria leaving the hospital. Bria says her dad checked her out and she is taking the bus. Gabby gives her a ride home in the rig, but she won't walk with him to the apartment. Gabby follows Bria into the building and knocks on the door, asking what's going on. The man coughs as Bria says she doesn't understand. This is her dad!
Gabby sits at the table. Bria says her dad got hurt at work and took painkillers. Now she has to take care of him because she is all he has. Gabby says her father needs professional help, but Bria can't give it to him. She asks Gabby not to call social services and promises to get help, but needs time to figure it out. Gabby gives her a card with her phone number on it, saying to call her 24/7.
Boden comes out and hears Julian telling stories to SQUAD. Donna comes to get Julian, but he wants to talk to Boden about something. He'll talk later. Gabby tells Severide what happened with Bria, but Matt overhears and gets defensive. He decides to stay out of the conversation.
Herrmann and Boden talk about how he feels about Julian. Boden thinks his brother is only interested in himself, but his wife likes him. Boden tells Herrmann he'll handle this alone.
At the apartment, Cruz, Sylvie, and Otis are talking about movie night, but Brett leaves. Antonio and she talk about not making it a thing, but immediately fall back into bed together at his place.
Boden is in the living room with his son and brother-in-law. Julian wants to talk about a project. He contacted a fire equipment manufacturer trying to enter the Chicago market. He needs $5,000 for 100 fireproof gloves. Boden will look at the info.
Stella is at Molly's when Severide shows up. Sylvie looks at Herrmann's jaw and says Harris punched him. It's not broken, but he needs to ice it. Otis talks to Cruz about Brett's date. Cruz thinks it's a doctor from Chicago Med, but Gabby says it isn't. Gabby's phone rings from an unknown number. She tells the caller to "slow down" and says she needs to go because it is Bria and she's in trouble.
Severide and Gabby arrive. Bria says he's been sick since last night and hasn't stopped throwing up. He has a seizure as Severide calls for an ambulance. He stops breathing. Severide and Gabby start CPR, and the paramedics arrive just in time. Gabby says he's having opioid withdrawals and a fever. They lost him, but got him back, and his pulse is strong. They put a tube in him as Bria keeps panicking. Gabby says Bria can ride with her dad, but Bria says they're going to split them up.
Gabby comes home, wraps herself in a blanket, and lies on Matt on the couch. She apologizes for being rude, and he does too, but she doesn't want to talk about it.
The next morning, Severide asks about Bria. Matt lets go of her hand. Bria was still sleeping in the chair. Her dad was stable with an IV. The nurses didn't mention child services. Severide says he'll visit after his shift. He says she was brave. Matt says they aren't communicating and that she'll do what she wants anyway. She just wants to get through the day to see what happens to the girl who reached out for her help.
Boden sits with Herrmann and Mouch. He has two choices: give Julian the check, or confront him. Hopefully, he can survive the fallout from Donna. Herrmann says it's a lose-lose either way.
Cruz is in the kitchen when Otis says he knows who Brett is dating. He says it's Antonio. He's 99% sure because he heard her say "Diego" on the phone and found a men's large Chicago Police Department shirt in the apartment dryer that morning. Cruz wants to say something to protect her, but no one speaks up when she walks into the kitchen.
On the way to a call, Gabby tells Sylvie she's there for her if she wants to talk about Antonio. Gabby says she's a bad communicator, but Brett says that's not true. They stop at Chicago Med. Sylvie gets supplies and Gabby sees Bria. Tina from family services is there to see Bria Jamison. Gabby says Bria is a good kid and asks Tina to look at this one again. When they get to her dad's room, Bria has vanished.
Gabby talks to Matt and Severide, but he says she shouldn't blame herself since Bria was headed for foster care long before she came into the picture. She's upset she keeps doing this with Bria and Louis. She leaves for a walk.
Julian comes to the Firehouse to thank Wallace. Julian says he wouldn't sell them if he hadn't tested them himself. He knows what they can do and knows the firehouse staff. He tosses a box of gloves towards Boden. The client came back with a discount. It is $3,338.00. Boden shakes his hand and writes a check.
Cruz and Otis talk about burn victims going back to where they got burnt. Sylvie wants to know who told. They say they care about her and want her to be safe. They think she can't take care of herself. She says they have to leave her things in the dryer.
Sylvie is eating a fancy dinner at Antonio's house. His mother taught him to cook. She told him to save some of the best food for special people. He kisses her forehead and says she's one of them. She stops him, saying there's been a misunderstanding. She wants to stay and eat with him, but they agreed not to get attached. She thinks he's great and they have fun, but it's not working. They still agree. She says if she stays and drinks, they'll keep doing this and one of them will get hurt. She kisses him and leaves.
Gabby talks to Severide at the bar, asking him if he was 16, scared and alone and doesn’t want to get caught. He says there is stretch Milwaukee Avenue, where teens stay in encampments and she probably knows about it. He goes with Gabby. Herrmann is still nursing his jaw when Donna comes to see Wallace at the bar. She admits Julian told her about what he did for him. Donna laughs when he says that he didn’t really trust Julian, but she said that she hoped Julian would win him over but couldn’t force it.
Severide and Gabby arrived at the sketchy part of the Milwaukee Avenue encampment, where they begin to ask around for Gabby. Meanwhile, Matt arrives at Molly’s looking for Gabby. No one seems to know who Bria is.

Gary, from Sentry, knows - that all the keys in the place don’t have knights on it. I can figure that out, right fucking now, I know the fucking locks that they sold. This right here? (the camera shows a single key on a keyring.) That shit? (Ramiro: Yes.) Show me that shit,” (Ramiro: It’s the knight!) Gary: “That’s not my key.” (shakes head) “I don’t have a knight key. That’s not my key.” (Ramiro: Look at it! That’s a knight.) “Ever since I’ve seen it - that - what does that- that do with anything? (mysterious mocking) “The knight.” Like - I’m supposed to fucking know? (Ramiro: Their logo!) That’s not.. That - What the Fuck logo is that?! You’re bullshitting. You’re bullshitting. And - Stop it! I’m not falling for it, dude! You’re acting.”

Run on Red | Noelle W. Ihli | Published 2022 | *SPOILERS*
Tumblr media
A rural country road. No cell signal for miles. A terrifying game of cat-and-mouse.
By the time Laura and Olivia notice the headlines tailing them through the hills, it's too late. What seems, at first, like a case of road rage quickly unfolds into a heart-pounding chase - and a battle for survival.
Who are the men in the truck? What do they want? And can Laura and Olivia outrun - and outsmart - them long enough to call for help, even if it means taking their chances in the hills on foot?
As their situation grows more perilous, the girls realize that the real terror has only just begun. But flight won't save them from their pursuers. If they're going to make it home alive, they'll have to fight.
Liv and Laura are driving into the hills of Idaho on their way to Coffin Creek, the location of a large bonfire party. Borrowing Laura's sisters Volvo to get there, Tish deciding to remain behind and study instead of joining them at the party, Liv begins to question whether the headlights following close to the bumper of the car have more sinister plans besides just tailgating.
Liv, a self-proclaimed true crime junkie, spends a lot of her time looking into survival. Her anxiety, both normal and the social variety, have her questioning everything and whether or not she would survive the ordeal.
When the tailgaters return, this time exiting the vehicle, Liv knew that her prior misgivings about the truck knows that those feelings were true. Both men are masked, and are attempting to remove both of the girls from the car. Liv and Laura fight until they're able to get their car back on the road.
These efforts are futile, as the truck quickly catches up to them, and pulls a pit manuever, forcing the Volvo off the road, tumbling down the side of a hill. Despite their injuries, Liv and Laura know they have to keep moving in order to maintain their survival. With no phone service and two cell phones tuckering on the point of dying, the girls continue to run.
However, the two men eventually catch up with them, and while Liv left Laura alone in order to try to get service on the phone, they capture Laura. Liv follows close behind them, as the three make it back to the truck. Liv knows that one of the voices is someone she recognizes, though she can't place the voice to the person as they're still hidden behind the mask.
However, the second man makes a comment, semper ennis, which is the Delta Phis motto, and she knows that they belong to the fraternity at their university. It also becomes apparent that the man she recognizes is Tony, the former fiance of Tish.
With only seconds to spare, Liv throws herself into the bed of the truck, so she can remain with Laura. The truck begins moving, and desperate, Liv holds on for dear life while they begin traveling to an unknown location, where the unknown man's cabin awaits them.
When they arrive, Liv has to decide quickly what to do. Locating a tire iron, she knows has a weapon at her disposal. When the second man leaves to go open up the cabin, while Tony remains with Laura at the truck, attempting to coax her out, Liv removes herself from her hiding place and hits Tony over the head, freeing Laura.
The two attempt to make it back to the main road, but the perimeter of the property is covered in 8 foot high fences, so they know their efforts are futile. The two go back to the ATV trail, where Tony and his friend, Kyle, await them. They agree to just do whatever it is they want with hopes of getting out of their situation alive.
Laura is adamant that Tony is going to help them, but Liv remains wary of this. Kyle is a sadistic person, and he places Liv inside of the crawl space of the cabin. She finally is able to check the cell phone, and she knows that the service is few and far between, but hopes she'll be able to get a call out to the police.
Eventually, Laura ends up in the crawl space after she attempts to hit Kyle with a shovel found near the fireplace. The two of them locate the body of a girl who had gone missing three years before, who had also been at Coffin Creek, and Kyle tells them that the reason they're even here is because of Tish.
he explains that the fraternity went through a period where they were accused of sexual assault, but those charges had been dropped after alibis were given. But, they were a part of a human trafficking ring. Tish ended up pregnant, and the entire ruse would have gotten them caught because if the baby didn't look like Tony, the entire campus and world would know. Tony attempted to talk Tish into an abortion, and she agreed, saying she went through with it, when she had lied. Two weeks later, she broke it off with Tony, and has since refused to talk about it.
The girls finally understand what got them in this situation. In order to make Tony understand what he has gotten himself into, Liv takes a chance and explains that Ava's body is in the crawl space, hoping that he didn't know about it. When he acts surprised quickly, she knows she was right.
With the time coming that their lives will end, the two men drag them out onto the property to the target practice area they had attempted to hide in before. Silently agreeing with each other that they will no longer run, not giving them the satisfaction, the two of them turn to face their kidnappers. But, when Tony shoots Kyle dead instead of the girls, they're in shock to know that Tony is going to attempt to help them.
Going back to the cabin to get the keys, Laura ends up faking a seizure when she remembers that Kyle's hoodie fell to the floor with the sound of keys in the pocket. While Tony goes back to Kyle's body at the range, the two of them attempt to escape but Tony returns. Knowing that they never planned to be on his side as they claimed, he begins shooting at them while they attempt to escape.
But, before they know it, a police cruiser finds them, and holds Tony at gunpoint while Laura and Liv are reunited with Tish. Liv had been able to get a text message out to Tish explaining that they were in a dire situation before the phone had died, and she knew then that they had never returned from the party and that something was amiss. The police officer drove her out to the cabin, where they were able to reunite.
In the end, Tony and several more of the Delta members were sent to prison, some of them for 25 years before parole eligibility, but Tony got life in prison. Tish decided to keep her baby, whom she named Chloe. The entire schoool, with the exception of the three friends, attempted the funeral of Ava Robles, who was buried in her hometown of Boise, Idaho.

TRUE CRIME FEATURE ARTICLE
THE FERAL GIRL: The Unbelievable Story of Dani Crockett
When police carried out a house search in Plant City, Florida in July 2005, after receiving a call from the neighbors who reported seeing a child they have never seen before peek out from the window, they discovered a Danielle Crockett, a little girl who looked five or six years old, stashed away in a dark room. Her two older brothers, mother Michelle Crockett, and her mother's boyfriend lived in the rental house for three years but they kept Danielle to themselves.
Officer Mark Holste noticed Danielle's family was keeping her in a small, dark room in the rear of a dilapidated house when he first came upon her. She had just a worn-out, moldy mattress to sleep on and weighed barely 46 pounds, almost seven years old. With the exception of a soiled diaper that was clearly unchanged for some time, Holste saw that the small girl was absolutely nude. Her lack of clothing and unkempt appearance, together with the exposed ribs and collarbones, demonstrated the depth of her neglect.
Danielle's urine-stained mattress was surrounded by used diapers and shattered glass. She was curled up in the dark corner of the room when Holste found her. Her clothing and toys were covered with maggots.
She was so close to going into a coma that the cops believed she had never had any medical attention and she needed it immediately to survive.
Because of Danielle's appalling living situation, the police promptly called child abuse detectives.
Those who came to the rescue in 2005 claimed that the walls, flooring, and inside of the house were all coated in dirt. Every room was infested with cockroaches, and the walls, cabinets, and kitchen equipment were covered with them as well.
After successfully rescuing Danielle, the police discovered that Department of Children and Family Services investigations had previously taken place at Michelle Crockett's home in 2002. According to reports, Michelle would spend a lot of time drinking with her boyfriend. Danielle's risk was deemed to be "low" after DCFS conducted two trips to their home, but without any attempt to talk with or observe Danielle's welfare. According to Danielle's lawyer, Michelle turned down offers of childcare services.
By the time Danielle received medical care and returned to almost full health, physicians had examined her and had her checked for any physical or mental disorders that would account for her significant difficulties. It was obvious that she lacked social skills and couldn't effectively communicate. Despite the fact that she exhibited no emotions and made no responses to outside stimuli, doctors rapidly ruled out disorders like autism and cerebral palsy.
She had a number of psychiatric issues that made rehabilitation extremely challenging, much like other feral kids who had endured extreme neglect and been forbidden any form of social connection. Even after years of therapy and care, her prognosis was uncertain, according to physicians and professionals.
Danielle was unable to consume solid meals and avoided eye contact. She also had trouble walking and talking properly. Medical experts agreed that she had just not acquired the same skills as kids nurtured in healthy family circumstances. Her growth has been stifled by a lack of exposure to other kids, knowledge, and meaningful connections.
Danielle would not be able to live a conventional life, at least not right away, according to medical authorities. Because she lacked the abilities to reintegrate into society and couldn't express herself, she was incredibly vulnerable.
She was put by the courts in a specialized Land O'Lakes group home where professionals could take care of her. She required assistance with cleaning and dressing because she was absolutely incapable of doing either. Danielle began her formal schooling at the age of seven at a special-education institution, thus she too had very specialized educational requirements.
Nearly a year after her first arrival, those in charge of taking care of Danielle in her group home at Land O'Lakes started to think about placing her for adoption. They believed that because she had made some improvement while living in the facility, living with a family in a warm house may help her grow and lead a more typical life.
Danielle was 8 years old when Bernie and Diane Lierow welcomed her into their family in 2007. The couple already had a 9-year-old and four adult sons from prior marriages, but they had long desired a girl. They changed her name to Dani to signify that it was a new start for her.
Health experts discovered Danielle's IQ was 50 when they initially assessed her in 2005 but she finally made significant strides after three years. She was still unable to speak, but she made remarkable progress in her capacity to communicate in other ways. When Danielle was thirsty or wanted to go to the restroom, she could communicate that. She also discovered that it's rude to steal food from others' plates.
She also made social improvement, learned to establish eye contact, and trained herself to use the toilet. Caretakers observed Danielle grow in her new, healthy environment away from the Crockett household as she learned cognitive and behavioral abilities.
Two felony counts of child neglect were brought against Michelle Crockett. As a part of a plea agreement, she agreed to give up her parental rights in exchange for a two-year house arrest and probation. Despite the neglect Dani experienced, Michelle never spent a day behind bars.

Events Scheduled for Ohio County Public Library
Tumblr media
TOMORROW - Help Us Make a Commercial! Do you love reading? Do you want to get your friends and neighbors excited about reading? Then, join Wheeling’s mayor, Glenn Elliot, and West Virginia poet laureate, Marc Harshman, to promote our city-wide reading initiative by being part of our commercial. We will gather at the "Almost Heaven" swing at Heritage Port on Wednesday, May 24 at 2:00 pm to create a short video. No acting experience required. Just bring your enthusiasm for books. TODAY - Noon: Wheeling Reads Launch: All Lies Begin with Truth with Anthony Viola All Lies Begin with Truth dramatizes the complexities of natural gas extraction, its legalities and impact on a small town's economy, infrastructure, and surrounding environment, using three distinctive perspectives. Eris Carroll is a young and energetic activist negotiating her place in a world where societal rules and cultural norms cater to and support patriarchy. Lionel Boone’s past indifferences and mounting guilt over surviving a kettle bottom collapse taunts him daily. Cass Taylor’s cultural role in life was predetermined before her birth. She struggles with the realities of being trapped in small town USA and within the confines of a patriarchal culture. Her somber outlook on the town, her life, and the human spirit is often chilling as the realization becomes clear that as a civilized species, we are imprisoned, being all too dependent on energy and those corporations who provide it for us. Anthony J. Viola is a Professor of English at Marshall University where he teaches literature and creative writing. Note: This program will serve as the launch of the new Wheeling Reads: One Book, One Community initiative featuring Jennifer Haigh's Heat and Light. extremely stupid things from the movie belle (2021) that made me go "well a lot of people also liked Clerks 2 so humans aren't really viable as a species" -hbomberguy
spoilers ahead
-starts in media rez, followed by immediate flashback to protags childhood and how she got here. literally "i bet youre wondering how i got here" and its long
-extremely confusing timeline of events. did the protag go viral just once? has she sung multiple "concerts"? why does her friend describe herself as a "producer" when it wasn't obvious she was involved?
-literally its like you see her have her first "concert" singing in public, 2nd concert on a whale, and then 3rd concert in a big dome
-the way her mother died is extremely silly to watch. it feels like a parody. literally everyone is standing and watching as she apparently gets swept away by a river. its just nonsense and embarassing
-THE POPULAR GIRL PLAYS THE SAX its very funny and kind of good actually but its also ridiculous
-exactly no interaction between her and Dragon before she goes to find him
-she's like "i want to know you" about the Dragon when she has literally like never spoken to him before??? all he did was break into her concert??? its not even clear why hes there and it doesnt seem like it has to do with her specifically??
- "when i studied abroad in ohio" line which was funny but then transitioned to "he was in eighth grade" which later felt like extremely weird foreshadowing
-the guy she eventually has a crush on (that all the other girls love) is like not a character and barely says anything for 75% of the film
-the scenes with the high school social media risk board was fun but it waws also like. a comical parody of what adults assume high school is like when teens have phones.
-THE PLOT TWIST ABOUT CHILD ABUSE???
-i mean id figured it would be about abuse i just didnt think it would be that some random fucking kid was being abused and theyd see it all on camera
-the whole time im watching im like CALL THE COPS
-"you have to wait 48 hours to do a wellness check" um i call bullshit, they have video footage of a guy threatening a child, they could have tried harder to like. tell cops to go there. i mean i know its not american cops but jesus christ they probably have child protective laws in japan right
-anyways and then they do a fucking CONCERT. a fucking CONCERT while there are children who are being abused to convince the kids to trust them. god its so uncomfortable knowing that. also more uncomfortable that they dont just??? explain that to the "internet cop" guys??? like "hey we really need to help this abused child can you assist since you know the Voices"
-anD THEN. AND THEN THE ADULTS LET THE TEENAGER GO ON A TRAIN. BY HERSELF. i was literally screaming the whole time WHY ARE YOU LETTING HER DO THIS. theyre like "we trust you :)" um why are you letting a teenager go alone to the house of a violent, unstable man in another city
-its insane there are 5 adults and 3 other teens with her and she goes ALONE
-after the dramatic standoff scene the kid says like her singing made him feel stronger or whatever but like.. nothing materially changes in his life
-in fact she just goes home and its unclear that literally anything happened with that man who did actually assault her.
-the film did not give any evidence that child protective services (or whatever the equivalent is in japan) is helping those kids
what the fuck did i just watch
tonight me and my partner watched Belle (2021)
it was so impressively, astonishingly bad, badly written, paced, literally the only good thing about it was the special effects
it apparently has a 95% on rotten tomatoes
literally how

The Good, The Bad, and The Working on It Prequel
Tumblr media
Pairing: (Future Stepdad) Jake “Hangman” Seresin x Mom!Reader

Briefly mentioned: Amelia Benjamin, Maryanne and Edwin (the kiddos), Robert “Bob” Floyd
Warnings: Mentions of alcohol, mentions of past issues with the other parent, brief thoughts of harm coming to a person, Edwin is a mama’s boy
Word Count: 3,080
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You sigh, your social battery is running low. You feel like you’ve been at the hard deck for hours when it’s only been, maybe two. You don’t want to look at the clock and get annoyed when you see what time it is.
It’s just one of those days when all you want to do is go home and take a nap with the kids (even though your girl, Maryanne probably wouldn’t stay still long enough to enjoy a nap). You know for a fact your boy, Edwin would want nothing more than to nap with you (oh, how you love your mama’s boy).
The door slams shut; howls of laughter fill the nearest corner.
You take a deep breath and put on your best customer service smile and make sure your voice doesn’t waver, not wanting anyone to know how tired you are. As you refill another customer's drink, you glance around the room not letting your smile fall. ‘The pilots are here. Great.’
Penny stands beside you, also watching the group pilots. “You ready for the next rush?” she asks.
“As ready as I can be, Penny my dear.”
“Someone’s tired.”
“What does that mean?”
“You only use that nickname when you’re tired. Do you want to take your break now?”
You turn to her, “and leave you alone? No, I’d rather not have feeling bad checked off on what I feel today.”
“It won’t be that bad. Plus, we have Marty and Cody working again which is why,” she leans closer to you, whispering, “we haven’t had to do any of the heavy lifting.”
That gets you to crack a smile. “Okay, okay. After they get their drinks, I’ll head into the back and start doing inventory, yeah?”
“That’s not a break.”
“It could be considered a break to some.”
“I’m not a part of that group.”
“Obviously.”
“Ladies.” You two turn to see Penny’s boy toy (you like to tease her from time to time), Pete sitting there with a smile stretching across his lips.
“Pete.” “Pete.” The two of you say with two obvious tones.
“Penny,” he nods before glancing over at you. “You doing, okay?”
You sigh, throwing the rag on the bar top. “Why does everybody keep asking me that? I’m fine. I’m good. I’m here, aren’t I?”
“Okay, okay. I won’t ask again. How are the-”
“A round of beers and a soda.”
“With beer nuts!”
“And a thing of beer nuts, thanks,” the blond orders without looking up from his phone.
You tilt your head, not appreciating his tone and look over at Penny, nodding your head at him.
She gestures for you to take care of him as a customer calls her over by name.
You pat the edge of the bar top, “I’ll get your drink in a second, Pete. I gotta take care of this real quick.”
“Take your time, I’ve got all night.”
You smile, grabbing the beers, setting them on the counter in front of the blond. “Date night, is it?”
“Maybe.”
“Don’t keep her out too late. You know, Penny will be off in Pete land that she forgets to actually text Amelia and I’m the go to information person when you two are out.”
“Don’t worry, tonight will be movie night with my two girls.”
You set the beer nuts beside the drinks and smile at Pete. “Aw, that’s too cute but how are you gonna pick a movie? You know Penny likes those action movies while Amelia prefers something with a little more comedy.”
“That’s why I’ll be out getting dinner.”
“Oh,” you chuckle through your nose, “so, you’re gonna let the two hash it out.”
“I wouldn’t phrase it like that.”
“That’s exactly what you’re doing.” You turn back to the occupied pilot in front of you. “Excuse me?”
He hums.
“I’d prefer it if you actually looked at me when I'm talking to you.”
He lifts his head and loses his breath (which you don’t know). “Well,” he smirks, preparing to lay his charm on you.
“No,” you shake your head. “Don’t try that, it won’t work. Is this going on a tab or am I taking your money now?”
“Straight to the point.” He gulps, a nervous smile takes place, all confidence he had a second ago disappeared. “I- I’ll do a tab.”
“Name?”
“Jake.”
“Hangman, hurry up man!”
“Or Hangman, I take it?” You glance up at him through your lashes.
He nods, “it’s a likely possibility.”
“Better take your drinks and snacks over there before your friends get too rowdy.”
“Right.” He grabs all the drinks and works and holding the beer nuts (for Bob). “Thanks again.”
“Yep.” You serve a small group of people before pouring Pete his drink. “You got something you want to say Pete?”
-
Jake glances over at the bar, not looking for anyone in particular (lie) and his gaze happens to fall on you.
He watches as you and Pete talk, wondering how you know his former teacher.
-
“Me? No,” he shakes his head, “no.”
“Sure, you don’t.”
“I- are you sure you’re, okay?”
“Honestly?”
“I’d prefer it and I think it would be good for you.”
“It’s that time.”
“Time for?”
“The time he decided he didn’t want to be a part of our life anymore, when he walked out on us.”
“Oh, why didn’t you say anything?”
-
Jake may not know you, but he does want to, so he can make sure you don’t look this upset again (if only he knew what the future entailed).
-
“I’m not going to make my pity party anybody’s business.”
“It’s not a pity party, you know you have a right to be upset.”
“I do but I also feel like I should have moved on from this. It’s been- what, six- almost seven years now?”
“Grief and heartache don’t heal fast enough for everyone.”
You close your eyes, pinching the bridge of your nose, “I’m sorry. I didn’t think-”
“It’s okay. It’s okay. I mean I still miss them, and our situations may be different but what we feel is the same. You just gotta take your time. No one will judge you for that.”
You chuckle, wiping the corner of your eyes. “When did you get so wise?”
“I didn’t. I just remember a lot of words.”
“And Penny wonders why I worry about the two of you?”
“Now that was uncalled for.”
“But I’m not wrong.” You breathe out a deep sigh, “thank you, Pete.”
He nods, lifting his drink to take a sip.
You close your eyes, taking a few seconds to gather yourself enough to pass by the customers. You pat Cody’s arm, telling him to take over while you do inventory.
-
“You can do this,” you whisper to yourself. “You can do this.”
You grab the clipboard off the desk and start your new task.
-
“Bars closing in an hour,” Marty informs you as he grabs a box of liquor. “Okay- wait- wait- how much of that do we have left?”
“I think this is the last of it.”
“Thank you!”
“No problem.”
You set the clipboard back onto Penny’s desk and exit the back room.
-
“Hey, Peggy Sue.”
Penny shakes her head, “you’re never going to give up with that nickname, are you?” She sets the clean glass back in its proper place.
You shake your head, “never.”
“Alright then.”
“If you want to leave early, you can. I’ve got this.”
“Are you sure?” She glances over at the clock.
“It’s only gonna be roughly fourth five minutes before you need to leave. I can ever lock up.”
“Are you sure? You’ll be completely alone.”
You nod, “I got this.”
“Thank you, my dear.” She comes around the bar, hugging you tightly. “Thank you.”
You chuckle, awkwardly patting her arm, “go, go. You’ll have fun and that’s all that matters.”
“You swear you don’t have to go home early? Mary and Eddie are doing alright?”
“They’re fine. Maryanne is at a friend’s house for a sleepover, all set to be picked up in the morning and Edwin is at home with the babysitter.”
“Okay.”
“Okay?”
“I’m going. I’m going.”
-
You double check the doors, make sure the tables and bar are wiped down, the information for the next order is ready.
“All set,” you whisper. “Time to lock up and hit the road.” You grab your purse and pull out your keys while you hum “hit the road jack”.
There’s the click and you set the work keys back in your purse.
The gravel crunching beneath the stranger’s shoes puts you on high alert. You place your keys between your fingers. “Whoever it is, you should know to turn around and go back where you came from before you get an ass kicking.”
“Uh- shit- I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to alarm you or anything.”
You turn around to find the cocky pilot.
“I just- I felt I should apologize for the way I acted earlier. I shouldn’t have done that. Lord knows I was taught better than that.”
“And you thought waiting until it was late at night, waiting for who knows how long to apologize.”
“Who’s to say I didn’t want to wait until her next shift to talk to a pretty lady?”
Your brows rise slightly, “oh?”
“Could I- would it be alright if I asked for your number?”
“You sure move fast, don’t you?”
He straightens his posture. “I didn’t hear a no.”
“I guess you didn’t but, how do I know you won’t send me graphic and inappropriate pictures?”
“I won’t send you anything you wouldn’t enjoy.”
You gasp, throwing your head break as you chuckle.
He finds himself smiling, feeling better now than he did before.
“If I give you my number, do you promise not to stalk me?”
“I was gonna ask the same thing.”
“Okay, jokester. Give me your phone.” You hold your hand out for him to set his phone in your hand.
“Woah, hey now.”
“What?”
“We’ve just met. How do I know you won’t run off with my phone the second you get it?”
“Do I look like the kind of person to do that?”
He shrugs, “no, but you never know.”
“Okay,” you pull your phone out of your pocket, “we trade on the count of three. We say one, two, three then we trade. Got it?”
“Got it.”
“One. Two. Three.”
You return the others phone almost as fast as you got them.
“Jake?”
“Yep.”
The corners of your mouth twitch slightly, tugging upwards hard enough for someone to tell if you’re smiling unless they were looking at you (which he was). “Cute but I don’t think it fits with your whole “cocky, I could careless” attitude.”
He chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck, “you caught that.”
“Mm-hmm, kind of hard not to.”
“Right,” he mutters, averting his gaze from yours.
You’ve seen him around the bar, honestly all the pilots but more so him but he usually has some random woman around his arm, and it’s never been the same one.
“Are you okay?” You ask with a concerned tone.
“What?” Your question catches him off guard.
“Are you okay?”
“I,” he pauses, trying to come up with an answer maybe the same answer he’s been giving everyone, but he doesn’t want to lie to you. “Why do you ask?”
“You seemed distracted today and there was no young thing hanging off your arm, giggling at everything you say.”
One corner of his lips tugs upwards. “Didn’t realize you noticed about me.”
You tilt your head, staring at him with a raised brow (giving him the “mom” look like Maryanne says), “that’s not an answer.”
“Is pass an option?”
You sigh, “if you don’t want to answer the question that’s fine but I need to-”
“No, no. I’m sorry. I- I did have a “date”,” he says with a grimaced expression. “But they had to cancel which felt like a huge relief and I’ve never felt that way. Ever. I just- I also haven’t felt like this...”
“Let me guess, ever?”
He nods, chuckling, “yep.”
“Can I ask you something without you getting upset?”
“Fire away.” The nickname sweetheart sits on the tip of his tongue.
“How do you do it?”
“Do what?”
“Go out with a bunch of different women whenever you’re back here. I mean- I thought- wouldn't you want to be with one person who could support you and be there for you whenever. You know you would have someone who knows who well enough to help you after you come home from a- a mission whether it was a good one or a bad one. You wouldn’t have to ask because you’d already have that support. I- uh- I just realized I'm rambling about something that is not my business. I’m sorry.”
Jake shakes his head, “no, no. It’s okay. Honestly, it’s kind of refreshing. No one’s asked me before. I- sometimes I do think about that, but I don’t think it’s going to happen for me.”
You furrow your brows, “why?”
“Have you met me? All people see is the asshole Hangman who leaves his teammates behind. Why would that guy find someone to be by his side?”
“Has anyone else seen the other parts of you or are you so programmed to be an asshole that you can’t?”
He says nothing.
Your phone buzzes, you turn it on to find that Maryanne asking if you’re home yet because Edwin stole the babysitter’s phone to call her asking the same question. He’s not going to sleep until your home.
“I’m gonna take it that your silence means you’re so programmed to be an asshole which sucks but if you try to be less of that “Hangman asshole” maybe you’d find something unexpected. I also have to go. Keep this conversation in mind, alright? Later, Jake.”
He nods, watching as you run to your car, hair swaying side to side.
After your car exits the parking lot, he realizes he’s alone... again and heads to his own car, making his way home.

The next night Jake and the others come into the hard deck for some fun, none of them have a mission coming up soon so they figured why not actually enjoy the night and drink until they can’t anymore at their favorite bar.
-
“How was the sleepover?” asks Penny.
“Maryanne had a blast,” you answer with a smile.
No one quite knows what’s happened to you, but no one is certainly going to question it.
“That’s good to hear. I know you were a little out of it and were worried how she was going to be. Believe it or not, I was the same way with Amelia.”
“I’m gonna with or not.”
“Oh, don’t be like that.”
You laugh as you move towards the end of the bar, serving a customer.
-
Jake offers to get the first round of drinks.
-
He starts walking towards the bar, spotting you almost immediately.
You offer a wave with a small smile.
He waves back and almost bumps into someone right after.
You cover your mouth, not wanting him to see.
He shakes his head; you know he sees you “trying” not to laugh at him but neither of you care. “Hey,” you greet, leaning on the bar top.
“Hey back to you.”
“You gonna order something?”
“Is staring at the therapist bartender not on the menu tonight?”
You scoff, “flirting will get you nowhere.”
-
Natasha smacks Javy’s arm.
“What?” He asks, rubbing his arm.
“When did he get close with the bartender?”
“I- oh. Oh,” Javy starts chuckling.
“What?”
“I don’t know they got close, but it looks like he’s got a crush.”
“Are you serious?” She asks with a smirk stretching across her lips.
“Big time.”
“How much you wanna bet?”
“Not now,” he shakes his head.
She tilts her head and furrows her brows, “why not now?”
“He won’t make a move for a long time.”
She shakes her head, lining up her shot. “I may not be betting on Bagman, but I just made fifty off your dumbass.”
“That’s cheating!”
“It’s not cheating if I play by the rules.”
Javy narrows his eyes at her. “Double or nothing.”
“You’re on.”
-
“I think flirting is giving me all that I want.”
“And what’s that, Jake from the bar?”
“A few more seconds to talk to you.”
You click your tongue, “you’re good I’ll give you that. A round of beers plus a soda and beer nuts, right?”
“You remembered. Does this mean I’m your favorite?”
You shake your head, “no.”
He grabs the order, “you’re breakin’ my heart, sweetheart.”
“Have fun, Jake.”
He walks away with a satisfied smile on his face.
Penny stands beside you with her hands on her hips, “what was that?”
“That was nothing.”
“That was not nothing.”
“I work to do. Bye Penny!” You move to the end of the bar as quick as you can, catching Jake’s eye.
He raises his beer to you; you nod and resume with your previous activities.
-
“When’s the wedding?” Bradley asks.
“I’m not listening to you, Chicken.”
The pilots chuckle, knowing full well that Jake “Hangman” Seresin is completely smitten with you.
