Hada (Time’s era): doesn’t matter the timeline, she is always a member of Lullaby’s personal royal guard. Stoic, cold, super serious and super professional girl. Besties with Impa. Has met Time before, knows him as the farmer dude who’s somehow friends with the princess and is a competent fellow (retired) knight. She can’t relate though, she’d rather die than retire and live in a farm lmao she lost her eye to a lizalfos, the thing clawed it out, she shows her scars as a badge of honor. Time’s armor is similar to the fierce deity’s, while Hada’s armor resembles the hero’s shade (: despite not growing up in the forest like Time, she has a great affinity for fairies, they flock to her when she’s near.

Crow is what's called a "spore eater", which protects her from physical harm but also causes severe dehydration. It's Lucky Jack! On his very first command, took a frigate with a sloop, and filled up Port Mahón with prizes. He's a disaster on land, kind of shit with money, but he is brilliant at sea, ingenious and strategically minded. He loves his wife, Sophie, and his bestie, Stephen Maturin, and he gets up to all sorts of hijinks with the latter. He rescued Stephen from being tortured by the French, actually, and Stephen frequently uses his own connections to try and work to Jack's advantage. He's obsessed with gunnery, and his crew generally love him because he's disciplined but not a hard-horse, plus he's lucky and brings them lots of prizes and prize money. He's a jock, but later in life he starts to love math for its own sake, as well as becoming an astronomer of no mean ability; he's presented papers on math and astronomy to the Royal Society. He's a great musician, a violinist, and his duets with Stephen (a cellist) are so incredibly touching to read about. His music is just... beautiful. Stephen's hands were wrecked by torture, and later on we find out that Jack's been downplaying his own ability to match Stephen's level, because he'd rather play average with Stephen than perfectly alone.

There's so much more I could say but tldr he's the best I love him.

Okay so I had finished reading the Legacy of Gods Series few days ago so here are my thoughts(after lots of thinking,psychoanalysing and self arguing)

1)RINA PROMOTING MISOGYNISTIC VIEWS:

•The "virgin trope" is seriously not a trope at this point when each and every book has this.She makes it seem as if the fmc has commited blasphemy(What's her obsession with this word anyways.Its everywhere in her books.The blasphemy😯) if she has slept with someone before the mc.Wth!?And every male character is a casanova.Like we will find virgin Mcs hot too okay?? Especially in Ava's case like I thought okay finally we have a fmc who has had a life before mc but no?Like she makes it seem Ava have a grandiose sex life and later makes her a virgin too!?Like its okay to have experience and its totally okay to not marry the first guy you sleep with.

I also think that having literally ALL men experienced in EVERY SINGLE THING is also so frustrating.Like it would have been cool if Eli or Creighton were not u know??She makes it seem as a chore the men have to do the second they turn 18

•Another example of misogyny is the extreme sense of ownership they have for all the women in their life. Like the dad's are seriously crossing limits.Protectiveness is cute but the no-twat-is-good-enough-for-my-princess shit is exhausting.Jeremy and Landon are wayyy too controlling.Its literally offensive.You will HATE such a brother and dad for life and beyond.

•She made all women literal doormats.Enough said. (except Ava,Ari and Maya-who she turned into a villain because she has a life so she should not be the good sister)

•The fmcs had all sort of problems, worries,insecurities blah blah which could not be cured by besties, family, friends, therapists nope!They could only be cured within 2 chapters at most once the perfect mc decides to help!

•Over possessiveness.Hated it.Like listen I can still somehow get Killian's jealousy towards Remi(by dark romance standards ONLY) but Creighton has been close friends with Remi since birth and how he literally does not allow a single friendly touch!?And his insta posts each statng MINE MINE MINE repeatedly felt embarrassing and cringe rather than hot and when he tells her to stop following people like WHAT!?

2)UNFULFILLED TROPES AND PROMISES:

I am the kind of reader who gives great attention to the blurbs and tropes before reading a book.

•God of Pain is a grumpy x sunshine.Now I believe this was mentioned due to the appeal and popularity of the trope but Annika is not a sunshine at all.Sunshine character is not one which ACTS and pretends to be happy,outgoing and perfect while she has her insecurities,fears and troubles eat her up inside(her words)

•God of fury has been said to have the trope mafia prince x GOLDEN BOY which is not accurate.Anyone who has read the books should know this already ig.

•God of war which happens to be my fav from the series has false claimed tropes too.Like it was NOT a marriage of convenience.Eli forced the proximity upon Ava by forcing her to marry him(I believe forced proximity means both leads who hate each other are forced to be closer)and the sunshine point is similar as that of Annika.Imagine if someone is searching for a stand alone marriage of convenience and forced proximity....they'll be sad,angry and frustrated u know(Not me.I loved the book)

•Being an apathatic sociopath and selfish narcissist is different.Research your attributes Rina.

•Rina literally backtracks upon Eli's feelings in gow.Repeatedly mentions how Eli had no feelings for Ava before Uni.While she had stated in Royal Elite epilogue how Eli kisses new born Ava,calls her pretty,is asking Aiden for marriage pact,stares at her.Even in gow Ava mentions that he caused guys disappear even when she was in HIGH SCHOOL."Yeah he had no interest at all"😑(THE LAST LINE WAS SARCASM.YES SOME PEOPLE NEED IT TO BE SPELLED OUT.your welcome)

•Mia's selective mutism was played with totally wrong.AGAIN RESEARCH RINA!

3)PROBLEMS IN THE BOOKS

•The extremely perfect mcs who are geniuses(Einstein who?),strong,attractive all the positive attributes who can think of other than a heart ofc.Like is it wrong if at least one mc has worked hard for the way they are!?Nope these are born perfections who can cure world hunger but will not because the world does not deserve it. Fmcs have all sorts of issues(other than being spineless,submissive doormats.Not Ava,Ari,Maya) which will be cured by the MC!Yeah!(Though the way Eli helps Ava is actually book perfect,heart warming and realistic.Its quite real that her parents and Cecily babied her and could not handle hard decisions that could benefit her)

•BRATS PLAYING GODS!All the mcs are over privileged brats who have done nothing but be born to "earn" their "god" status.Like they are literal UNI kids.Like they were all spoiled brats basically criminals who were setting things(buildings) on fire and hurting and killing people like what!?

•THEIR AGES AND THEIR*ahem* ACTIONS!?Their ages in their respective books:

Killian(19)-Glyndon(19)😱😲😵😶 Creighton(20)-Annika(17-18) Jeremy(23-24)-Cecily(20) Landon(23)-Mia(18-19) Nikolai(19)-Brandon(23) Eli and Ava had time skip so it was okay(29 and 23)

Like their ages are seriously concerning.I especially wanna talk about Creighton and Annika.Annika is literally a child and her book basically had her having some sort of Stockholm Syndrome.

What Wukong hadn't anticipated... was the way PIF and Ao Yi would both turn on him. Because if those two are besties, it'll be hard for Wukong to keep the fact he's pregnant a secret from the Demon Bull Family. Ao Yi knows and likes to talk about Ao Li and how he had protected Wukong throughout the journey, something DBK can respect her ancestor for. What Ao Yi neglected to mention is that the current pregnancy is the same egg, so they misunderstand and think MK is the Egg in question until Wukong sets them straight that MK is adopted/psuedo created in his image from Nuwa.

At the time it comes out, nobody knows exactly how close it was or dangerous the current pregnancy is to Wukong, who hadn't felt the need to tell anyone because he has plenty of support on all sides and hadn't been completely isolated on Slow Boiled.

Oh yes, the two royal ladies are a deadly team when it comes to making Wukong (and later Macaque) explain the truth to them.

Ao Yi mentions the "Stone Egg" in passing to PIF, and immediately notices the woman's face drop with horror. It doesn't take a genius to realise that PIF (and by extension her husband) never knew.

Wukong gets ambushed by the two royals during tea time. An intervention called to order.

The ex-celestial and dragon become Wukong's adoptive sisters in a way. They are extremely protective and doting of him, even before Wukong worked up the strength to tell DBK (note; still happened on New Years XD) and the others. They make sure to check that he's been eating well and how well he's been managing MK. Wukong appreciates the help, its been a long time since he's been so doted upon outside his Stalwart siblings. Its cute, if not terrifying to see the short monkey demon flanked by the two queen-like women, their teeth bared to anyone who may give their little brother a rough time.

His displeasure was backed up by Garth, Lilith, and even Mal Duncan, who were all having their hands on their hips and a betrayed look, like the kids who were left out of the coolest party in town while their supposed besties were invited and didn’t even bother to tell them about it.

“Sorry, kids, but it wasn’t my call, actually,” Robin shrugged in defeat, not having the answer himself.

And it was true that the reform of Teen Titans had not been initiated by Robin or Wonder Girl, and especially not by him - Kid Flash. It was unexpectedly the deed of an otherworldly girl named Raven, who was a half-demoness desperately trying to stop her own demon father Trigon the Terrible in his wrathful path; who all by herself sought out and brought together the members in a strategic order; who even thought as far ahead as arranging the construction of their base with Silas Stone as soon as the team was formed.

Wally was more observant than he let on. And right now, he wished that he could also see her face, basking in the calmness of her defined features and tracing the depth of her distant, melancholy sight. She was always so shy, so humble; always shielding herself from the world in the comfort of her robe.

Oh, but he knew her.

He had held her slim figure so many times when she was in danger. He had felt her soft curves against him whenever she needed some consolation. For Heaven’s sake, he knew her face - one as sweet as the mystical moonlight. Not even the thickest of cloaks could bury away the grace in her stance.

wild is 17 - high school junior/grade 11

Wild's dad and sister as seen in concept art! His father's name is Hark (after Harkinian) and his sister is Irie. They're Flora's direct neighbors

Hark works in the royal family's personal guard as a security escort. He's close friends with a lot of Important People.

Irie attends an all girls' (religious) academy in Castle Town. It's a year-round school but Wild loves her to pieces so spoils her when she's home on breaks

Once Upon a Princess - 4/10

Local village girl Sofia becomes a princess cos her mum married the king and now has to deal with being part of the monarchy. Her half sister Amber goes into jealous bitch mode and makes Sofia's day a living hell then Cinderella literally appears out of the aether to gaslight Sofia into giving Amber a second chance. Not a great start, show.

Just One of the Princes - 7/10

Sofia learns about the inherent misogyny in Royal Prep regarding the flying horse derby and immediately goes lol fuck you im gonna fly a horse and win the race cos I can. Bluebell princess is best princess

The Big Sleepover - 9/10

Sofia invites her old besties from the village for a sleepover while Amber invites her own princess friends and Sofia legit thought that 3 snobby princesses and some village girls could get along.

Sofia befriends the wicked witch who's pulling pranks on everyone. Turns out she's actually a little witch whos lonely cos everyone fears her so they work together to change her reputation. Awww

Takes Two to Tangu - 6/10

Amber and Sofia get lost in Arabia and the former is slowly losing her mind. Oh and Princess Jasmine's there.

Finding Clover - 7/10

Finally, a good Clover episode. This time, Sofia is travelling across the entire kingdom to search for him cos this kid is willing to trek through the Nine Circles of Hell to get her bunny back

The Amulet of Avalor - 10/10

This is just an extended Scooby Doo chase scene but with an amulet and I fucking love it

The Buttercups - 4/10

I find it really insulting that Baileywick is coddling poor Sofia from doing her outdoor Girl Scouts activities cos the king was being needlessly overprotective over her and Sofia just has to deal with it the majority of the episode

Make Way for Miss Nettle - 8/10

So the show's recurring villain is also a spiteful ex-member of the Sleeping Beauty fairies? And she's voiced by Megan Mullally? OH THIS IS GONNA BE FUN

Amber takes over Sofia's tea party because of her obsession with decadence and the inability to shut up. Sofia, you really need to stop being a pushover

A wonderful lesson about cheaters never prosper and that its wrong for to get someone else to give up something to fix your own mistakes. The first time Amber gets some proper development

Well, Roland's sister is an absolute delight. I sure do hope she wont become a boring quest-giver to Sofia later on!

Sofia befriends a mermaid named Oona but the merpeople have this racial prejudice against humans so they hate Sofia because she's human but dont worry its all fixed by the end, Cedric wants Oona's comb cos apparently thats more powerful than Sofia's amulet??? so he turns into a sea monster and captures Oona so Sofia doesnt have any allies to help her but her family Oh and Sofia doesnt recognise Cedric in sea monster form EVEN THOUGH HE AINT EVEN HIDING HIS VOICE OH MY GOD THIS EP'S A MESS

Holiday in Enchancia - 7/10

Its a typical Christmas episode but its a very low-key, cosy one. The fact the royals are spending the holiday with a peasant family and giving them all their presents is so sweet. Like this is just pure serotonin

Four's a Crowd - 9/10

We see Sofia's jealous side conflicting with her happiness to see Amber getting along with her own friends, which is really interesting. Also its nice to see Amber being friends with characters who aren't royalty.

Someone else asked about setting timeframe on reddit - here's roughly what I said to them:

I play pretty fast and loose with technology - it's nice to have the freedom to do so when not writing something strictly historical! - but I tend to use 1930 as a very general guide for the upper limits of tech development unless I have particular reason to pick something from later in real-world history. The atmosphere is a bit of a mishmash of Edwardian and 1920s Europe, though as there isn't an equivalent of World War I for Westerlin and its neighbours, it's not an exact match by any means.

Gallatin has one telephone (this sort of thing) which you can use in Creme in some paths, as does Archambault, but phones aren't in most households outside of the upper class. Some businesses will have one, or there are also public ones - there might be one in a workers' club or post office, for example. (There are probably telegrams, though it's not something I've ended up mentioning yet.) There are cars/buses/taxis in Fenburg, though in most places it's a mix between them and horse-drawn carriages. Having your own car for recreational driving is more of a fancy thing, although more modern/prosperous farmers would have tractors and pickup trucks. Gallatin town is a bit rural and old-fashioned for many people to have cars, and the mountain roads don't make for great car-driving conditions, so horse-drawn coaches (and wagons/horses-and-carts) are used more often there.

The Royal Affairs MC and their family's lifestyle means they have access to a lot that others don't: the aeroplane (I picture something in the realm of this) is definitely an outlier, and would be rare even among the upper echelons! Cars are also getting a bit more common as it's a few years after Creme.

It's been really interesting thinking about how things will shift over time, because what I'm working on now will take place a few years after Royal Affairs - putting it nearly 10 years after Creme. Especially writing about a different country where developments have taken place at different times and in different ways, and writing about more modern (for the Creme setting) environments whereas Gallatin College, Archambault Academy, Teteriuk Manor, and the royal palace/Vossau/Staheli/the parliamentary buildings are centuries old. (Westerlin/Zaledo/Teran futuristic space race anyone?!)

Hey so a few days ago I saw this post about how Rhaenyra not telling Alicent that she lost her v card is not the same as Alicent meeting Viserys in the middle of the night and not telling Rhaenyra. And it occurred to me, did anyone question why Viserys would choose the daughter of a second son from a family that doesn't even bring that much into prestige into the Royal Family. Like many could argue it was because of the Hightowers connection to the Faith and the Citadel but House Targaryen has two daughters as members of the faith (Rhaella daughter of Rhaena and Aegon the Uncrowned and Maegelle daughter of Alyssanne and Jaehaerys as septas) and a son in the citadel( Vaegon son of Alyssanne andJaehaerys) so that argument wouldn't really work.

I just wanted to know your thoughts on it as many people tend to gloss over this part when talking Viserys choosing Alicent over literally any other available female in his court(not counting his daughter).

This is a really interesting point! Honestly, I think Viserys was choosing what he believed was the lesser of two evils, someone that he thought would be a decent fit with him (she took an "interest" in his model of Valyria 🥺) and potentially the bigger concern was someone he thought could get along with Rhaenyra.

It feels like a dad move, he's trying his best in the midst of his grief and still thinks his 15-year-old wants a doll or something... The analogy isn't perfect, but I think you understand. The decision was two-fold. He was trying to make a choice that he thought would be beneficial to them both, without considering the way Rhaenyra would be hurt by the decision. This is why their dinner together (Rhaenyra & Viserys) where they discuss the expectation for him to remarry is so interesting, because Rhaenyra is fine with Viserys marrying for duty, and Viseyrs is like great!! Because he thinks marrying Alicent is dutiful to Rhaenyra. He's raising her best friend tremendously in station and has found a wife that is in her childbearing years (he wouldn't have to wait like with Laena) and she is ok with his hobbies - it feels like the best of a bad situation.

Except it backfired so hard because, from Rhaenyra's perspective, her dad just married her best friend for no reason. She had no clue that Alicent was visiting her father and nurturing some sort of affection there with the intention of being his queen.

Realistically House Hightower added nothing. They brought nothing to the table, unlike House Baratheon, Velaryon, etc.

Laena was easily the better choice for him, and the show completely glosses over her close relationship with Rhaenyra, simply to make the Rhaenicent besties angle work.

IDK, it's interesting, but also ppl will make the argument that if Viserys and Laena had gotten married, Corlys would've pushed for any sons through that marriage to be named as heir above Rhaenyra...

Even though, really, its a win-win, if Rhaenyra married Laenor as well... like

I don't think the late-night visits and the v-card are on the same level in terms of what they're lying about. Alicent never admitted to visiting Viserys because it would've made Rhaenyra aware much sooner that Otto was vying for power, whereas Rhaenyra lied about the v-card because she knew it would be used to ruin her reputation/undermine her position as heir.

It's honestly "You lied for power, I lied to protect myself - we are not the same."

I don't know much about Game of thrones lore like you. But why is Prussia so childish in your au? I'm not saying I disagree I don't know enough about the world to dispute but I was just curious for the reason behind it if any.

Yes, I can tell you exactly why. When a Targaryen is born the gods flip a coin. This means either they are completely nuts or they are sane/sane-ish. More often than not it lands on the wrong side of the coin. The Targaryen family practice incest often times marrying siblings and first cousins. They want to keep their dragon blood pure and don't want the other houses being able to ride dragons (Which this logic does make since if its where your power comes if everyone had dragons and road them you wouldn't be so special, but it does not make it right or healthy). On top of that the Targaryen's have blood of dragons inside of them. A lot of them have terrible tempers. they are from a hybrid human-dragon cross breeding thing that the Valyrians did thousands of years ago. They actually are part dragon.

Targaryen's have been royals since the start of the Seven Kingdoms. They are out of touch, selfish, often times cruel and could care less about the small folk. They don't know what it's like in the city because they hardly leave the palace unless they have to. A lot of them do act very childish their entire lives. They don't know anything outside the castle walls most of the time. Are you going to tell the King who is cracked in the head and who has a fire breathing dragon for a bestie that he's 'too old to play with toys?' no you won't lol. and if you do you're going to get... 'fired' if you catch my drift. They do it for less.

A lot of them also live very tragic lives, still births, babies being born half dragon with wings and claws and turning to ash as soon as they are born. On top of that some Targaryen's are plagued with 'Dragon Dreams'. These dreams are just that they dream that they ARE dragons. They fly through the sky and burn cities. Some Targaryen's have these dreams every night of their lives and it drives them crazy. They start to blur the lines and get it in their heads that the "are dragons irl" so they will act more like a dragon. They will become callous and uncaring, have a fascination with fire and burning things/people, their temper will get worse and they will start to mutter and talk to themselves in Valerian (the dragon language) and spend more time with their dragon. Also if the heir is actually crazy and a violent psycho they don't say "okay maybe we don't make him the king" that's just the king now unless he dies of natural causes or someone kills him. That's just the King whether he is a good/bad/great/terrible king that's just how it is. Prussia is not the best option for king but he's not the worst king they have ever had by far. He does listen to reason sometime and has never done anything too irredeemable or terrible. He just talks about it a lot and threatens it. Prussia is married to his older sister since a young age. His father died when he was young and the King needed heirs.

They are a very tragic family and all the cards are against them, it never gets better and only gets worse as they age. You unfortunately can't make a 'true to story' Targaryen family without giving them woes and ailments. if you did it would be taking away from the story and what makes them so tragic.

If you're interested in the Lore of the Targaryen's and want to know more of my thinking on it. You should watch "House of Dragon". You don't have to watch Game of thrones first and it's only just starting season 2 so it's not so much that you have to binge. It will help you understand the mind set of most Targaryen's and how some of them don't even really get a fighting chance and are just given a bad hand at birth.

Ive been putting people in the backrow of the history class lessons as pairs and i normally put people that are friends (or Leona and Malleus)

And today i put Ortho beside Malleus and now im wondering

How would Ortho be like around Mal? Would he be open and ((less)suffocatingly) welcoming like Kalim is with everyone? Would he ramble about himself to Malleus? Or would Ortho ask Malleus a milllion and one questions cus he wants to be friends with the fae that everyone keeps avoiding for some weird reason?

I can imagine Malleus teaching Ortho about gargoyles and grotesques a lot and maybe Malleus can tell Ortho stories about places he's been to and things he's seen people do (cause Ortho may soon pick up that he hasn't experienced these first hand) then Ortho would ask if they could do random friendship things together (idk myself uuuuuuhhhh-)

Ortho invites Malleus over to play games and watch shows and Malleus is EXSTATIC because not only has he made a new friend but they wanna hang out and do things together too???? Is this a dream????? He hopes he never wakes up back to his lonely royal duties

Idia in the middle of this all TERRIFIED that the UR+ character of the school is INSIDE HIS BEDROOM and is willing to watch anime with both of them even doe he has no idea of what it is and whether he'll like it or not (he doesn't care he just wants to be around more people)

And then Idia is somehow the most mature in the room not only because its his bedroom and he's kind of Malleus' teacher in how to play games, but because although his brother puts all AI in their world to shame he is still a child and somehow even the dragon fae that is possibly close to ten times his age is also a child-

Unfortunately for the school these two can get mischievous if encouraged enough by the situation and they will make it everyone else's problem.

Lilia discovers this and is joyful that Malleus has a friend and they get along so well (and he can't deny he loves their mischief even though it isn't good practice for Malleus)

If Idia ever catches feelings for Malleus, Ortho and Lilia would play matchmaker till Malleus catches on (cus he probably wouldn't be able to tell what's going on at first)

(And then there's Ortho being a robot, meaning he will live longer than most creatures so long as his integral parts are intact. Meaning Malleus has a friend that won't be lost easily to time-)

(But then there's also the possibility that Ortho could one day ask to be human again, and with Malleus being one of the literal 5 strongest mages, who's to say he can't do that)

I'm so so so sorry. I know I'm super late, I had a few things going on with my life. Especially a bunch of entrance exams for college (which I thankfully passed, but have two more in December), so I haven't had time to write in a while. But here are my thoughts on their relationship.

OMG, yess ortho and Mal would be besties. from mals birthday boy card voice lines ortho even got him an ice shaving machine though it was cutting edge tech so Mal didn't know how to use it :(

they would be menace together but since both of them has the ability to look like a kicked puppy, no one has the heart to tell them off

Idia would be having the worst time of his life. he's so tired of being the mature one over the fae who has been alive for 10000000 years (jk 700 only). mal and ortho have the ability to pout and they will.

ortho will teach mal everything about humans and machines though malleus doesn't always get it he's happy to listen to his new friend

Diasomnia is in disarray, Lilia is happy over the possibility to adopt another child, Sebek is crying over how WaKaSaMa has contracted a disease that is leading him to act this way, and Silver, despite having great difficulty in keeping awake, is the only sane one in the whole dorm. And the rest? they believe Ortho to be the newest royal of the briar valley. He's the prince's new brother and therefore their new god prince.

Idia and Mal together will be so funny. I know it'd be some cliche anime trope with Idia falling into Mal's arms (with the help of Lilia's magic) since Mal is a price and, Idia is internally freaking out.

Angst potential? angst potential.

Being immortal (almost) ortho and Mal will have to go through the losses of their loved ones, I think Idia being gone will hit Ortho the hardest because he's literally programmed to love Idia just as much original Ortho loved him, and will probably send him into an existential crisis.

And by now we all know how Mal reacted to the thought of his loved ones leaving him.

so angst buddies. Cursed to be left alone for eternity.
