What I really need is Ace Attorneynatural, where Sam is the beleaguered newbie defense attorney and Dean is his mechanic brother who keeps getting framed for murder, Cas is the police detective who starts helping them out when he realizes how corrupt the prosecutors are (Zachariah because he's my favorite), and at the end of the season we reveal it was Chuck the whole time because he thought it would be entertaining.

The reveal that Go Flip Yourself was actually an elaborate, 150 episode long scheme made by Simon the Devious to get Laszlo’s Witch Skin hat was so unexpected and yet absolutely bloody genius.
I am still sitting here, 30 mins after watching the episode, astounded at the absolute LENGTHS those two vamps will go to get that stupid cursed hat. I’ve been staring at the blank screen in awe.

Seeing supernatural trending fills me with incredible amounts of fear each and every time. Why is it trending now??? Has there been catastrophic news about the show or the prequel??? What do you mean Misha Heller Collins said Dean and Cas we’re gonna have a moment together in the original finale??? Is he gonna retract this statement later and apologise in a long Twitter thread??? So many questions

The fact that Jensen Ackles tweeted “Here’s to a great weekend. ✈️ ” after it was revealed that the C*W hasn’t been profitable since 2006 and is now being sold really says something.

What’s Your Comfort Level With Restaurants Right Now?
Tumblr media
Outdoor dining in New York | Robert Sietsema/Eater
From the Editor: Everything you missed in food news last week
This post originally appeared on September 26, 2020 in Amanda Kludt’s newsletter “From the Editor,” a roundup of the most vital news and stories in the food world each week. Read the archives and subscribe now.
I’ve probably asked this before but, I’m curious how you’re feeling about going to restaurants right now and how that opinion has evolved over the course of the summer. We’ve polled readers, I ask my friends, I talk to my editors in two dozen cities across the country and in the UK, and it seems hard to come to a consensus. (Yet people seem, as is the case with so much these days, very sure in their own convictions about what is right.)
Some people will only do takeout, some only counter service. Some will go to a waiter service restaurant. Some will eat indoors warily, some happily. Some will speak about it openly, post about it readily. Some will sneak in visits, hoping their friends don’t know. The restaurateurs I’ve spoken with seem just as divided, with some ready and willing to open full throttle and others holding out or taking baby steps.
It impacts coverage because we want to thread the needle of providing the information, recommendations, and guidance people are looking for while providing context around safety and risk.
If you have thoughts, I’m [email protected].
On Eater
— Closures: Lawry’s the Prime Rib in Chicago; Bellwether in Los Angeles; The Shed at Glenwood in Atlanta; and lauded Chinese destination Kym’s in London.
— Openings: a brick and mortar location of Filipino food truck Carabao in Austin; a pretty serious-looking taqueria called Umbrella Taco, Post Script, a restaurant in a tented parking lot, and Bull & Butterfly, a steakhouse inspired by the flavors up and down the coast of California, in LA; Lucky Day, a mezcal bar draped in 15,000 LED lights, in Vegas; Ostia, a Mediterranean restaurant from a chef leaving Jonathan Waxman’s empire, in Houston; Joomak, a cool playful Korean pop-up restaurant, in New York; popular Portland brewery Great Notion’s first Seattle outpost; Nopalito, a restaurant serving vegetarian tortas, in Montreal; and Olin, an American-Mediterranean brasserie, in Detroit.
— New York’s outdoor dining can continue indefinitely, and Chicago released its new rules for fall and winter outdoor dining (though restaurants are scrambling for heaters). Meanwhile, Indiana and Florida have opened at 100% capacity indoors. In both London and Seattle, bar and restaurant owners are fighting their cities’ 10 pm last calls.

Random thought and question
It occurred to me while reading Schein for this week’s assignment just how challenging it is to create a “psychological safety net” or safe space in an online learning environment. While we are sharing details of our work experience, and personal tidbits here and there, we don’t seem to be meeting the criteria Schein outlines to get to a level two relationship that is a requirement for having honest, trusting discussions. He writes “Personalization is telling one another a bit of our story of who we really are, where we have come from, and where we are going. It is letting each other witness how we do things when we are off duty, relaxing away from the formality of work roles (2016, p. 111). And, is our psychological safety net further diminished because of the class format that prescribes dual roles, that of the learner and assessor (grader)? Does this encourage the development a culture that inhibits the sharing of honest reflections or the occasional “dumb question” for fear that it will result in a poor grade from our peers? The reason behind the format is a good one, that by grading each other we are learning how to give and receive feedback which is a critical skill in the workplace. At the risk of asking a dumb question, does the benefit of learning how to give and receive feedback through grading each other outweigh the risk of damaging a “psychological safety net” or safe space to share ideas, critical analysis and develop a level two relationship?
Though we have been encouraged to advocate for changes to the format of the class if there is consensus, I’m actually not suggesting that we do. What I am trying to do is think through what I see is a conflict between what we are learning and the real-world example of this class. Ultimately, the question could be moot because the nature of a classroom, online or in person, is inherently different from the workplace so Schein’s humble consulting rules may not apply. I’m interested if others would agree or disagree with this and why.
