hi! hope your having a good day/night/timezone/etc.! u got any writing tips (like how to not lose motivation/use up as much of it as u can while u have it, any ways to get the words flowing/“get in the writing mood” that have worked for u) for any of ur fellow fic writers? (idk if this’s been asked b4 (it seems like a common question lmao), but if it has, ‘pologies, lolol ^^)

i have a few that i've been thinking up to try and post!!

remember that you aren't on a deadline to write, and to take the time you need. no one wants to read something you rushed, let alone do YOU want to read it. and it REALLY matters if you love what you're writing. you'll kill your motivation trying to keep up with something like that!! if you only had time to write 300 or you had a great day and wrote like 3000, you're doing great either way!!!

there's a lot to keep up with when you're writing, and you have to remember and understand all of it. if you're trying to write while you're tired/upset/etc, you'll likely end up with something you're not that proud of. (granted, art is art, and sometimes these emotions can create something beautiful or meaningful). take metal breaks so you can come back to your work with a fresh mind, and don't overexert yourself. you'll remember and understand more if you treat your writing time like you would when you're studying. sometimes i make flashcards to remember characters, places, events, etc.

sometimes i can get too analytical with my writing, or it starts to become flat? if that makes sense? meaning, like... i'm putting words on paper rather than delving into the story. too many "they felt this way" and not enough "Character A turns to face the man that had changed their entire life with the single shot of a bullet, careless to what damage he could have caused. It's haunting to see that the man is simply that: a man. Not a monster as they had imagined, laying awake at night and wondering what their father had seen in his final moments. He's just a man." what helps with this is putting myself into the shoes of a narrator, remembering that i am telling the story as if i already know what's happening (even if I don't know where I'm going with a scene yet). i imagine that my reader is right there next to me and i'm telling them the story in real time like we're sitting around a campfire telling ghost stories, or that i'm the quirky narrator of a book they just picked up.

During times where i'm losing inspiration or feel like i'm in a loop, i like to go back to my favorite medias and spend some time with them. i recently rewatched Gravity Falls, the Sea Beast, and the Adam Project, and it was a fun mental break that got me into the writing mood. i try to find similar media to what i'm writing at that time. if i want a scene focused on funny banter or a comedic effect, i read or watch comedy. if i want to write a scary scene, i'll watch a horror movie. etc etc. "studying" your favorite media and putting yourself into your fav writer's writing shoes is a great way to improve your own writing. think about why that joke was funny, what the set up was that made it that way, and if it would have been a different joke if another character said it (Gravity Falls is one of the best media you can use for this, but really, reading mysteries in general can help)

physical exercise, if you can. getting your blood flowing and treating your body well!! when i was in band, we used to do "body warm ups" set to music, and i still do them to this day. it gets me awake and alert while also letting me listen to fun music before i write

hi hii thank u sm!!! so basically we meet twice a week for anaphy, online every wed and onsite every saturday! i start studying on sundays by taking notes on my laptop and i go over it the night before our online class so im not completely clueless when our prof starts discussing the topic gahshs

our prof provides us the ppts he uses as well so i use it to make flashcards on an app/site called gizmo (theres an option there to upload pdfs/files but i make the flashcards myself as another way to familiarize myself w the topic).

i also print out the ppt and i basically do like some form of active recall/blurting where i underline/encircle key points, recite it out loud over and over again, and write it down like on the paper i used to print the slides on itself. i use a red ballpen so whatever i write really stands out.

so sorry this is all over the place HSJWHS but basically i study in advance (if i can!) and do active recall through gizmo!

my love language for giving is physical touch. i love giving hugs, getting them is another story

receiving is definitely quality time and words of affirmation. i get a little nervous that people don’t actually like me so i really appreciate when people make time for me.

stargazing and a picnic. i study astrophysics in school and the amount of deep conversations i’ve gotten in while sitting with friends at night is astonishing. also will totally be judging to see if people let me rant about the constellations and philosophy of the universe.

here are my biggest pet peeves: slow walkers x1000, slow drivers, traffic, people who cancel plans last minute, really anything that wastes my time

today is 6/30/2024 i just wanna write up a log of the things that i've tried so far i guess

i feel like my chinese learning journey is kinda interesting bc . i'm more addicted to trying to innovate/revolutionize/optimize how to learn chinese more than actually learning chinese . and sure some of that could be attributed to instant gratification or wtvr, but also i am also rly addicted to trying to solve physics-esque/mathy problems and that's just what my brain is inclined towards doing, like if it recognizes smth as mathy and nonoptimal then it'll compulsively search for a solution lol . usually this activity doesnt actually turn out to be super productive (and a lot of the time it can seem like im just Wildly Overcomplicating things, and there's definitely an argument for that, yes) but i believe it's at least Somewhattt useful + at least i enjoy the rush (sometimes) + maybe one day ill finally get some Good idea and then ill make millions !!! or maybe that is just what i tell myself to cope . You could barely see the beautiful green irises that framed the pupil, too obscured by the need that was overwhelming him at this point. “Hey – we did good,” you murmured, Ben’s eyebrows furrowing as he sat up a bit, eyes running over your features. “But let’s never do that again.”

“Does it have something to do with these flash cards andthis bag of Hershey’s kisses?” Archie nods to the items on the coffee table. Bettysmiles.

“Exactly,” she says. She joins him on the couch. “I’ve madeup these cards with information that is most likely going to be on the test.You get it right, you get a kiss.”

“You’re… bribing me to get the answers right?”

“It’s not a bribe, it’s positive reinforcement.”

“I’m the donkey and the chocolates are the carrots.”

“Do you want my help or not?” Betty says in exasperation.

“Yes!” Archie says quickly. “Sorry. Let’s do this.”

It turns out Archie knows a lot more about chemistry than he’doriginally given himself credit for, and though he starts out slow, the moreanswers he gets right the more his confidence grows. True to her word, everytime he gets an answer right, Betty hands him a Hershey’s kiss. She also takesone for herself each time, because she deserves a reward too.

“Okay, next question,” Betty says, picking up the next card.“What is the common name for sodium chloride?”

“Salt,” Archie answers easily.  Betty smiles.

“See? You’ve totally got this,” she tells him, reaching herhand inside the Hershey’s packet. “You haven’t gotten a question wrong in ages.”

Archie rolls his eyes, but Betty swears his cheeks turn alittle pink. “Yeah, yeah,” he says, embarrassed. “Just give me my kiss.”

Betty tries not to consider the double meaning as her handreaches the bottom of the packet, feeling nothing but empty plastic.

“You’re out of luck,” she says, pulling her hand out of thepacket. “They’re all gone.”

“Now how will you positively reinforce me?” Archie jokes. “Thosekisses were the only things keeping me going.”

Betty bites the inside of her cheek, her heart pounding asan idea forms. Then, before she can change her mind, she leans forward andplaces a gentle kiss on his cheek.

“There,” she says, pulling away, her stomach in knots. Whichis dumb, because it’s just a silly cheek kiss. They’re friends, she can dothat. “Will that do?”

Archie looks stunned. He nods slowly. “Yeah,” he says. Bettyavoids his dumbfounded gaze.

“I guess we should stop now then?” she says hesitantly. “Sincewe’ve run out of kisses.”

“No, uh…” Archie swallows. “We can keep going. But…” heglances at her. “Next time you better make it on the lips.”

Betty’s eyes snap to his. Her stomach lurches. She studieshis face, trying to work out if he’s serious. He stares at her, waiting for herresponse, looking like he’s holding his breath.

Betty picks up the flash cards.

“Okay,” she says. Her heart is beating so hard she swears it’sgoing to rip a hole in her chest. She glances down at the question, trying tokeep her hands steady.

“Which one of these is a noble gas? A, argon, B, boron, C, chlorine,or D, potassium?” Betty asks, flicking her gaze back to his once she’s donereading. Archie looks nervous.

“Um,” he says. He frowns. “D?” he guesses. Betty shakes herhead, disappointed. Perhaps he got it wrong on purpose. Perhaps he was making ajoke before, not expecting her to agree, and now he doesn’t want to hurt herfeelings.

“Do I get another shot?” he asks.

“Do you want another shot?”

“I really want to pass chemistry,” Archie says. Betty raisesan eyebrow. Archie swallows. “And I really, reallywant you to kiss me.”

Betty only hesitates a moment before she flings the flashcards to the floor, and surges forward, curling her fingers into his shirt asshe meets his lips with her open mouth, crashing into him like she’s beenholding herself back for eons. Perhaps she has been. Archie kisses her backfervently, bringing his arms around her to pull her closer. She bites on hislip gently and he moans slightly, the sound sending a pulse through her body,right to her core. She wants more of him, needsmore of him. Wants to make him make that sound again.

She pulls away but keeps her hand on his chest. “Do you wantto take this off?” she asks. Archie looks surprised for a moment, but hequickly collects himself.

“Yeah, yeah,” he says, scrambling to pull his shirt over hishead. Betty takes a second to admire his broad, hard chest and well define abs,before pushing him down to lie back on the couch, and then lowering her head andrunning her tongue up his torso. She brings her mouth to his neck and kisses itwetly, before pulling the skin between her teeth and sucking.

“Fuck, Betty,” Archie groans. He moans again when she drops ahand to his crotch, feeling him hard beneath his jeans. Perhaps he hadn’t beenexpecting things to progress so quickly, but honestly, Betty has been wantingthis for far too long to wait any longer. And Archie doesn’t seem to mind allthat much, if the bulge in his pants is anything to go by.

Betty lifts her head and smirks, watching Archie as he pantsheavily. She’ll go down on him in a minute, but first she’s going to give him alittle show. She brings her hands to her top button, undoing it slowly. Archiewatches her in awe as she undoes each button, taking her time, eventuallyrevealing a lacy pink bra.

Archie reaches up, brushing his palm over her breast. Betty subconsciouslyleans forward slightly, pressing his hand harder against her chest. She’d verymuch like him to kiss her there. Archie seems to sense this, and he sits up,placing a kiss on her lips as his hand slides around behind her, under hershirt, reaching for the clasp on her bra. He fumbles for a moment, and in thatsplit second, the front door opens and Alice strides into the room.

“Mom!” Betty cries, quickly pulling her top closed. Alicelooks thoroughly unimpressed, but somehow not entirely surprised.

“Really, Elizabeth?” she sighs. “You’re in the living room halfnaked with Archie Andrews and you’re going to act like I’m the one who shouldn’tbe here?”

Betty flushes. “We were studying,” she tries to explain.

“I can see that,” Alice says wryly. “Archie, would you put yourshirt back on please? We usually keep our clothes on in the living room.”

“Sorry, Mrs Cooper,” Archie says, reaching for his shirt,his face bright red.

“In fact, it might be best if you leave,” Alice decides.Archie nods, and once he’s dressed he flees from the scene, back to the safetyof his own home. Alice purses her lips at Betty.

“You’re not going to like, forbid me from seeing him orsomething, are you?” Betty snorts.

“Of course not, Betty,” Alice rolls her eyes. “I’m not somekind of monster. But if you would kindly keep your… escapades confined to yourroom in the future?” Alice softens a little then. “And be safe, Betty.”

“Yes, Mom,” Bettygroans. The whole situation is humiliating, but Betty is thankful that at leastAlice hadn’t walked in a few minutes later. Things could have been a lot more awkward. Alice gives her a lookbefore disappearing into the kitchen.

After rebuttoning her top and picking up the flashcards,Betty heads upstairs to her room to message Archie. She goes to her window andsees him sitting there waiting for her. He looks unsure. She taps a text out tohim.

Betty: Well, it couldhave been worse. She didn’t ground me or anything. Just told me to be safe.

- We've been hard at work on chapter 2, which has been gradually taking form and is already looking to top what we produced for chapter 1. In addition to Tomb, we've also gone back to add an extra layer of polish to Glacier. With that in mind, we would like to introduce the Champion update.

- Champion forms of each boss. These unlock once you've killed each boss once, and have their own unique look and very unique mechanics, while retaining the initial flavour of the original line up.

- 3 New Enemies. Yellow Snow, Stalagtrite and Ice Worms, along with a bunch of new rooms to take advantage of these chilly fellas.

- 1 New Item. Lil Frost Rider. A feisty little customer inspired by one of our favourite bosses from chapter 1.

- In addition to this, Narcissus has had some heavy rebalancing, optimisation and new active items added to his attacks. With some extra reskins for vanilla enemies that find their way into Glacier, with some greed waves thrown in for good measure. Along with various bug fixes for a number of issues affecting the mod in general.

- And last but not least, a little treat for anyone interested in chapter 2: Tomb. The splash art featuring all the bosses, and the new playable character.

Indeed! there are a lot of mods I want to try, but I want to finish the game normally first. After that, the good stuff will ensue!

Love the concept of the mod, and enjoyed playing it too. The only problem I have with it is when I fought the new harbinger-guy (forgot his name ), after some time he stopped moving, and when I killed him the flys he spawned in ice could not be destroyed (destroying the run). Other than that, I really like this mod.
