Manga Coloring Tutorial for the kind anon who asked:

Picsart no longer lets me take regular ol' screencaps so i improvised a bit. :P

Colors i used (gonna refer to them by their numbers):

The cap in question that you start with:

1. The only blending option i use for this pic is 'multiply' (found somewhere in your art program's toolbar) so easy peezy. Take image 1 ('Add photo'), select blend mode 'multiply', cover all of the cap, then erase...what needs to be erased :P

Boom. Make sure to save your work thru out.

2. Repeat the same process in step 1 with colors 2, 3, 4, 5(select image, multiply, cover the area you want to be colored, erase). 2 for skin tone, 3 and 4 to add definition to her burn scars, 5 for her eyes.

3. JJK always gives off kinda trippy vibes so for a lil pizazz I add image 6 and...repeat the process (blend-multiply, erase) :P

4. And to top it off i then mess around with the sfx options; usually hdr/hdr2, noise, saturation, and up the highlights a tad. Obviousy there might be minor differences between what each function is called between art programs, but all the terms i listed *typically* show up in other art programs so...yeah :P

For the one lovely anon who asked about my coloring process (prepare to be underwhelmed lololol)

I have an android and i use the picsart app bc it's pretty simple and i have no idea what i'm doing half the time. Is it a good app? I have no idea--but it works.

1) start with the pic

2) I basically use a "paint by the numbers" approach. I guess it's pretty much layering but there's no switching to and fro twenty different layers. You can start anywhere tbh but let's start with the background. Add a photo of whatever color you want to use.

I mostly use the blending style "multiply" to color in the white space. "Screen" if there's any solid chunks of gray or black etc. that need to be colored. Change the opacity, etc, as much as you please.

Tra lalalala~ wash, rinse, repeat with different colors as you color in the rest of the pic

Until You reach here:

2) add some definition around the eyes, lips, whatever you want with more layers or by using the "draw" tool.

3) free stock photo i found a couple of years ago woot woot! Speaking of stock photos, i should reblog that masterpost of legit (free and legal) stock photo sites...

For this one i "overlay" the pic instead of "multiply" or "screen."

I use this one to add some texture and color variation to my pics

4) from there i up the saturation, use the "noise" special fx to add that final bit of fuzzyish(?) texture (bc tumblr peeps seem to like pics with a lil texture thrown in) and finish it off by using the HDR or HDR2 special fx to crisp it up a bit. Sometimes i brighten my pics up or make them even more vibrant. Depends on the mood.
