When Isabella returned and invited him for dinner, he thought it was simply a way of thanking him for helping save her. Not many people thanked him; in fact, most of his patients wanted nothing to do with him once they were cured, and neither did House. 

He was hard-pressed to say no—there were no downsides, and he'd be getting free dinner. So he bit the bullet, and they made preparations for that same night.

But to his surprise, they got along well, quite well in fact, way better than he did with other patients. Things began to escalate until they found themselves outside the fancy restaurant she'd picked out for them, closing out the night, and she asked him to kiss her (very assertively, may he add, a quality he appreciates in women). 

"I like your spirit, Mrs. Reyes, but have you never been taught to say please?"
